Imagine: Decompressing from a long day with Bridge Carson.
~~~
Each day was different even if most of your routines went uninterrupted. That was life. That was your day in Space Patrol Delta.
Activity had cooled down long enough for you to feel safe enough to leave the shared living areas. Time for yourself was essential. Healthy.
Any moment an alarm could go off. So you needed to snatch any control of your environment while you still could.
Headphones on with your choice of music, you lounged atop your bed. Just you, a puzzle game on your phone, music, and Bridge Carson reading a comic.
You couldn't quite remember your exact words to him earlier, but it was a good enough invitation.
There didn't need to be any small talk. You two were fully content to each do your own thing and share the same space. It was lovely.
Bridge didn't complain when you made a noise at the game or try speaking to you when you obviously wouldn't understand him. He did give a thumbs up every so often. In return, you did too. An acknowledgement that the other was so okay.
You were more than grateful for that. His understanding of how you needed to be thrilled you honestly.
You'd make him buttery toast for the rest of your life or take down a wave of krybots for him at that point.
No matter how your day went at least Bridge could be there. Headstands, smiles, toast, and all.
"Bridge."
He turned his head.
"You're my favorite."
Why Little Hope’s most mundane interpretation is still amazing
You know what’s amazing about Little Hope’s story? That even its most mundane explanation – everything being an imagination and nothing more – still makes for a heartbreaking experience. This is why I decided to look through the events of the game from the basic “Anthony walks through the town” perspective, and analyze the various places he visits throughout the game, and why they were important to him. Because I believe this may be another way to interpret Little Hope’s story: Anthony coming to town to say goodbye to every place he loved.
(For the sake of argument, we’re mostly going to ignore everything that isn’t “real.”)
We start at the Bus Crash Site, where Anthony is perfectly greeted by the “Welcome to Little Hope” sign. I don’t think the place itself is actually important, but it does force Anthony to head into town, so I think it’s worth mentioning. Similarly, the fog forces him to stay on his path, which is likely Anthony’s own subconscious, guiding him to familiar places.
(Side note: I think it’s very fitting that Anthony can find Eric’s and Rachel’s car here, a reminder of another horrible accident that took place at the edge of town.)
Eventually, Anthony makes his first stop at the Black Cat Bar. Here, he meets Vince, the only other real person in town. It’s quite clear that Vince visited the bar regularly, but I wonder if Anthony visited it, too. We know that he was only an adult for about two and a half months, so he might’ve shared a drink with Vince during them; but even if he didn’t, he likely knew that Vince was a regular customer, which probably inspired him to visit the bar in the first place.
Afterwards, Anthony follows the Main Road, which is basically the red string of the story that ties all places together. Here, he makes a short detour to a vantage point; I can’t pinpoint its exact significance, but it’s easy to imagine that he had certain spots in town he liked to visit whenever he wanted to be alone.
The first bridge Anthony comes across is the part where the fictional characters in-game decide to split up. It’s like a metaphorical bridge for Anthony that allowed him to sink deeper into the depths of his mind; beforehand, his imagination only went so far to imagine all characters relatively close together, but now that he’s deeper in town, his imagination grows.
Meanwhile, Vince glimpses into Anthony’s story every so often, as if to remind him of the reality he doesn’t want to accept. Fittingly, his first cameo happens at the intersection, which can easily be seen as the intersection between imagination and reality.
Shortly afterwards, Anthony comes across a hut with a gun inside it – which raises some interesting questions about whom the hut belongs to, and consequently, who the owner of the gun is. Because of the book you can find inside, I believe it could be Vince, but it’s hard to say for sure since he doesn’t seem to recognize the gun later. There’s also the possibility that Anthony himself deposited the gun here at some point, but I don’t think that’s very likely.
Either way, Anthony continues to the Little Hope Police Department, which is obviously an important place for him, considering he was briefly imprisoned here and made the Crude Doll. But before we actually get to see him explore the place, we jump to Daniel’s POV – and the question of how real the events outside Anthony’s own perspective are. Does he imagine the other characters visiting these places or does he visit them himself? Personally, I’m leaning towards the latter.
We get a look at the Little Hope Middle School, which Megan likely visited, and the Playground, where one of her drawings can be found. It’s quite horrifying to think that all that time, Megan drew her experiences with Carson, but no one paid enough attention to her in order to do something about it.
Anthony enters the General Store next, whose nostalgic value is shown in the comic, where he mentions that he used to buy comics and candy there. Nearby, there’s also a small shack with some runestones and candles, but similarly to the hut above, the owner is difficult to pinpoint. Was it Vince’s and Tanya’s place to practice their Pagan beliefs? Or was Anthony himself a regular visitor? It’s hard to tell for sure, but I think both explanations are likely.
Either way, he explores the inside of the police station next, which must be a painful experience for him. He looks at all the memories he rather wanted to forget, reminds himself of everything he lost. I can’t even imagine how hard that must have been for him!
Exiting the police station, he comes across the Little Hope Bridge, where Tilly Johnson’s memorial makes me wonder about her existence, while Dennis’s band poster reveals more details about the Clarke family. Following the most mundane explanation theory though, this could potentially reveal a very heartbreaking fact about Anthony: That the memorial and the poster didn’t depict his family members, but he sees them anyway, like he can’t stop thinking about the people he let down.
This can also be seen in the Little Hope Graveyard. Because of course Anthony would want to visit his family’s graves; a part of him wants to confront the harsh reality he cannot yet accept.
When it comes to the other graves (like Wyman’s or Abraham’s), I suspect he got inspired here and decided to use their names for his story. It’s also interesting that Anthony comes across Vince right after, because this basically confirms they barely missed each other when visiting the graves of the people they loved.
Continuing to the Woods, I have to wonder about their significance. Sure, the Witch Trial is located here, which is likely a place Anthony was interested in, but I’m not sure if this is the only explanation – especially because the Woods are visited later as well. Is this another red string for the story, like the Main Road? I honestly have no idea, so I’d like to hear your thoughts!
Anyway, after a quick scene on the Main Road where we get a glance at the sewers, Anthony enters the Little Hope Museum. It’s easy to imagine that he used to come here regularly, and in the present, he even visits it twice. The first time, his own mind influenced the things he saw, but his second visit showed him what was actually real. Maybe a part of him knew it all along, so he went back to confirm it.
Following the Main Road, several historical plaques of places and events can be found here, alongside Tilly Johnson’s house and the Execution Site near the Church. The Execution Site is probably part of Little Hope’s historical town tour, while the Church is not only the place where Anthony bumps into Vince again, but also the place Reverend Carson resided. Which is interesting because after a short climb to the Bell Tower, you are free to either explore the church or simply skip everything that might remind Anthony of Carson. It’s the only place that allows that, like Anthony doesn’t want to be reminded of him anymore than he has to. He was probably a regular church visitor, and might’ve confided in him a couple of times, which only strengthens the betrayal he must feel.
Outside Church, Anthony makes a return to the Woods, where he relaxes for a bit and continues on the Dirt Trail, whose significance I honestly can’t tell. However, it does lead up to Mary’s grave, and most interesting of all, the Derelict Building. Since Abraham is properly introduced here, the building has to have a meaning, but what exactly? Was it always abandoned and Anthony came across it one day? Was it a functioning building before? In the flashbacks, Joseph seems to live there, so maybe James used to live there as well? I’m really curious what you think, because I believe there has to be a reason why Anthony wanted to visit this building in particular, I just don’t know what it could be. So, what are your thoughts? :)
Continuing to the Factory and another meeting with Vince, Anthony can find multiple remnants of the past. In the comic, it’s the first building he visits, spending quite some time there, reminiscing of the past and the physical memories it left behind. It’s also obviously the place his father and Vince worked at, so it makes sense that he would want to go there at some point.
From the Factory Grounds, you have to walk quite a bit through the Woods and a small tunnel until you come across the Ruined House, and the Back Yard associated with it. It’s notable that Vince’s old car stands here, like he never moved it away after the fire. And in the Ruined House itself, Anthony finally reaches his destination: Home. Now, he has to decide Mary’s/Megan’s fate, he has to come to a conclusion. But interestingly enough, his own story only ends here if he fails to forgive Megan and/or fails to let his family go; it’s only when he saves at least one person besides Mary that he can continue to the Main Road, where Vince determinantly brings him to his last – and in some ways, first – destination: The Diner. No matter which ending you get, Anthony’s story comes full circle and he leaves the town forever.
Imho, just viewing Little Hope as Anthony wandering around town and nothing more still makes for an interesting, heartbreaking story, and one I personally love – regardless of the interpretation you choose to believe. :)
Music made me love you, chapter 40
The last curl was put up by O'Brien. "Your hair is ready, Milady."
This whole morning Cora was called Milady, and she had a tough time adjusting to it. This woman had hoovered around her, helping her with literally everything. It had come in handy with her dress and she had done wonders to her hair. O'Brien had created a masterpiece.
"Thank you, O'Brien, can you leave her Ladyship and me alone now," Rosamund said, sending Sarah away.
"Can you just send them away like that? It does seem unkind. And I am not married yet, so how come you call me her Ladyship?"
Rosamund stood behind Cora and put her veil in her hair. "For the staff, you are already 'her Ladyship' and yes, once you think they can go, you send them away."
"It does feel very unkind."
"You will get used to it." Rosamund stepped back to look at Cora. "You look like a princess. Robert will be stunned when he sees you."
Cora was relieved that Robert and she would not live at Downton right away. They had found a nice house close to the Chiswick Bridge. It was an old house, built in the 14th century, with a later added Queen Anne facade. The detached house was big, over 7000 sq. ft with seven bedrooms, three reception rooms and two bathrooms. Cora had thought it to be too big for them, but Robert had insisted. And Cora had loved the charm of the rooms.
"Are you going to hire staff once you move to 'West Hall Manor'?" Rosamund helped Cora up and fixed her train.
"Robert does want staff, but I can cook myself. I even like cooking. But I have agreed with a gardener and some girls to keep the house tidy and in order. So, there is more time for me to write and eventually care for little ones."
"Is there one coming already?" Rosamund asked surprised. "Is Peter getting a niece or nephew?"
"No." Cora responded. "Not yet. For now, we enjoy the cuddles we can get from Peter. He is growing up so fast. I saw that he lost his baby roles."
Rosamund got an extremely sweet look in her eyes. "He is growing up so fast and he is so smart already." She looked at Cora. "Now let us go down."
Cora had been installed in the room she would get after her marriage with Robert. Next to it was a small dressing room for Robert. This setup was still from the old times when husband and wife did not sleep in the same bedroom. The room was very spacious, and the bed looked extremely comfortable, tonight she would know how comfortable. Robert had suggested staying the night at Downton before going on their honeymoon.
+++
Music started playing when Cora walked down the stairs. All heads were turned, and she heard a collective aww. Robert was not in her sight yet. Once downstairs, Rosamund adjusted her train again, kissed her on her cheek and wished her good luck. Harold was waiting for her to take his arm.
"Are you ready for this next step?" He asked quietly.
Cora chuckled. "It is a bit late to have regrets."
Harold put his other hand on top of Cora’s. "Are you having doubts?"
This made Cora look up at him and with the biggest smile she answered. "Far from it."
"Good." They had reached the end of the great hall, where Robert was waiting for her. On the chairs, she saw her mother with Sorcha next to her. On the other side of the aisle was Violet with Patrick. Next to them were Rosamund and Marmaduke. She saw some familiar faces from the staff, Mrs. Hughes and Carson were accompanied by other people she had not met before.
+++
Robert felt his nerves getting worse when the guests all turned towards the grand staircase, he heard them gasp audible. He could not see Cora yet and that made him nervous. He was trying to imagine what kind of dress she was wearing. Would she have a big ballroom gown, or was it a very slim-fitting dress? He had not the faintest idea what she had chosen. He had tried to get it out of Rosamund, but he had not had much luck. She only told him the colour. An off-white dress it would be. She gave him a piece of the fabric so he could find a dress shirt in the same colour or a tie.
Finally, she came around the corner, holding her brother's arm. He almost grabbed John's arm, who was standing next to him. She was breathtakingly beautiful; her dress was nothing he could have imagined. It was fitted around her body perfectly, not too slim fitting but also not a ballroom gown. She was gliding towards him it felt. All the faces around her disappeared and he only saw her. Harold kissed her cheek before handing her to him.
Robert felt her gloved hand glide in his and he was relieved she was wearing gloves so she would not feel his sweaty palm. She softly squeezed his hand, while listening to the officiant.
+++
"You can now kiss the bride."
Robert turned towards Cora and carefully lifted her veil. Her lips were coloured with a soft pink. Her hyacinth-blue eyes were shining, she had a soft pink shade of eyeshadow on her eyelids. It was as if time stood still, and he saw every small detail on her face. Her mouth slightly twitched into a smile. Her nose that she crunched and her eyes, oh her eyes were full of love and anticipation. His hand softly on her jaw and cheeks, he pulled her close. He touched her lips briefly. "My wife." He murmured before kissing her more intense.
Suddenly the room around him came back to life and he was startled by the sound of applause. He broke his kiss and looked Cora in the eye. "Hello Mrs. Crawley." He smiled at her.
"Hello, my husband." She smiled back.
Robert felt Cora’s hand on his stomach and a second later she was kissing him again.
+++
Peter was trying to grab Cora’s earring, but she managed to keep it out of his reach. "You are growing so fast." She said in a soft affectionate tone.
"Guests are waiting to congratulate you, can you please join Robert." Violet stood in front of Cora with eyes cold as ice.
"Mama, it is their wedding day. Can you please calm down and be nice today." Rosamund said annoyed while taking Peter back in her arms.
Cora gave her a thankful look. "I am coming Lady Grantham."
Violet huffed and walked away.
"She is lady Grantham, is she not?" Cora was surprised by her response. She tried to address her in the right way, she did not want to mess up, especially not on her special day. But since this morning Violet had been on her nerves.
"She is indeed." Rosamund winked. "Mama is just not used to not getting things done in her way. Especially not with Robert who always followed her wishes, but since he met you, he is finally standing up for himself."
Cora sighed, she had been worried about Violet, and this did not make things better. She walked towards Robert who gave her such an adorable look that she almost forgot about Violet’s treatment of her.
"My dear, let me introduce you to Lord Flintshire, his father is the Marquess of Flintshire."
A good-looking man from around the same age as Robert was.
"Hugh has been a dear friend since we were children." Robert continued. Next to Hugh was a woman, she did not look happy Cora thought.
"Nice to meet you, Lord Flintshire." Cora said formal.
"You can call me Hugh. I am only a Lord for other people, not for friends. This is Susan, my fiancée." Hugh put his arm at Susan's back, who reluctantly shook Cora’s hand. "Robert, I know this is your wedding day, but can we talk for a minute or two?"
Robert looked at Cora for her approval. She kissed his cheek. "I will be fine; in the meantime, I can get to know Susan." Cora hoped that making friends in Robert’s circle would please Violet.
"Is that Lady Lancashire." Susan said, when Cora turned towards her to ask a question. A bit stunned, Cora was left alone. She looked around the great hall. All the chairs had been moved to the side and there was a small dance floor. She had loved twirling around in Robert's arm during their opening dance. He had chosen a slow waltz. A soft hand was placed on her arm, she saw Rosamund standing next to her.
"Time to say goodbye to your favourite nephew." She said, while handing Peter to Cora. "Do not feel bad about Susan. Hugh is a very nice man, but he asked a peculiar woman to marry him."
+++
"Why did you send O'Brien upstairs? I thought you only hired her for the day to help Cora get dressed and styled?" Patrick asked Violet while she wheeled him into his bedroom.
"Cora can use some help getting all those pins out of her hair and that dress is also not easy."
"You make it sound as if it is a nice thing you did. But you realise that it is their wedding night? Robert would love to help her I think."
"Patrick!" Violet said shocked.
"Dear, as if we do not know they enjoy each other company already and how do you think you will get grandchildren."
Violet hummed but did not say a word. She started to untie his shoes.
"Maybe I should ask Carson to help me? Or one of our boys, there are some potential future valets under them."
"You do not want me to help you?" Violet stopped and looked up.
"I want you to leave your son at peace with his new wife. That is all I am asking of you."
"He married the wrong girl; how can you be so calm and just let it all happen. I do not understand you." She pulled the first shoe off.
"Dear, we talked about this. You promised me to be more forgiving and you also promised me that you would not make her uncomfortable or feel unwelcome."
Violet threw both his shoes in a corner. "I just cannot believe Robert did not like Isabella and chose Cora instead. Can you imagine, marrying an American girl, when you can have a nice English Lady."
"Your son made a choice with his heart. And I am positive that Cora is a lady, and she will be an amazing Lady Grantham in the future."
"That we will see."
+++
Robert scooped Cora in his arms, when they reached the first landing on the stairs, this erupted a high-pitched shriek from Cora.
"You scared me." she giggled.
"Let us hurry upstairs, nobody has seen us escape."
Cora sighed, while wrapping her arms around his neck. "It feels like we are escaping indeed."
"Were you able to enjoy this day?" Robert lowered Cora back on her feet when they reached her new bedroom. Mrs. Hughes promised to make the room cosy and romantic for tonight. Cora's arms were still wrapped around his neck.
"I am now allowed to call me your wife, your Mrs. Crawley and that fills me with joy." She kissed him passionately, while reaching for the doorknob behind her. "Can we please get me out of this dress."
Robert growled and pushed Cora into the room once she opened the door.
"Oh my God!"
Robert let go off Cora so abruptly that she almost fell on the ground. He could grab her arm to keep her upright. They both looked in horror at O'Brien who was standing in the room.
"Why are you here?" Robert managed to ask.
"Lady Grantham had send me up earlier tonight, she said that Mrs. Crawley had asked for help taking off her dress and unpinning her hair."
To Robert's annoyance this woman did not even blush and she had a smug smile on her face. "Obviously she does not need help, especially not on her wedding day. Now please leave." he tried to keep his voice calm, but he was steaming. Why did his mother do this, why did she try to ruin things for him. What was it that made her feel she needed to do this.
Cora stepped close to Robert, when O'Brien closed the door, she brushed with her hands over his chest. "Do not let this upset you darling. It does not matter."
"But Cora." he now sounded sad. "It does matter. This shows that my mother does not have respect for you or even for me."
She now started to take of his jacket. She let it fall to the ground, she than pulled his tie lose and with that pulled him closer to her. She raised her chin, her lips hovering in front of his lips. "I only want to think about what you are going to do with me tonight." She kissed him on his lips. She left a trail of kisses when she moved to his neck.
"Oh Cora."
"Now please help me out of this dress." She turned around, in the meantime her hands were reaching for the pins holding up her hair.
"Please Milady. Let me help you to take of your lovely dress, brush your hair and then show you how heaven can be like."
My whole life, I’ve been looking for the warmth of Carson City in 1998 again. Where’s the beach?
I may seem like a sturgeon but I live in a sardine can.
The straits off the coast beckoned you. I still have the faded daguerreotype of you plastered on my arm to guide my way. The blue lights are turning me on.
Diablo canyon becomes you.
your silver is my gold. your olive skin in the martini of my hand.
black hair floating on the ocean surface. He’ll survive when I get there.
you’re the eclipse over the lush woods, the moon set over the Dead Sea, the fullest beauty that I could ever imagine.
my wish to feel the ocean within you will never come true until I leave Malaysia 370 times.
the water is cold to which I lay low in Crater Lake, and I surface in Lake Tahoe.
I’m like a volcano how I swim to the surface and the fire burns on the crown of my head. Maybe I’m the devil?
drowning in fire.
your belly up and I want to kiss you there. I know you’re soft. I feel your silken voice on the back of my neck and I bet you think of me.
would you rather spend the night in the museum or the aquarium?
I make gourmet fish food… does that bother you?
I make gourmet fish food and I have the secrets locked away under the chest drawer. All my memories are bound within there.
I was born on the beach and I lost my way back to the ocean. The salt on my face, the great wide abyss enshrouded with the wind, the clotted of kelp, and I find the smallest tide pool on the side of the road, hoping to find that old sailor again.
the challenger deep resides within me and I’m afraid of you falling in.
I buried my heart under the Golden Gate Bridge and revived it under the Brooklyn Bridge only to keep it a secret with the Gulf Stream.
meet me in Miami where we can dance under the realm of flare guns and stone down some bastards.
don’t swim in the Irish Sea (just don’t).
my heart broke when I was taken. My heart broke more when the ice expanded over the waters and kept me from returning. I vowed I could never feel anything again when the house in the sticks burned up in oblivion.
You’re fascinating. Come here.
the dragonlord rides the kraken for a couple of guilders and you go back in that kitchen for a good time and a pot of boiling water.
pools of blood where my love used to lay are worming their way into your lungs.
the most beautiful veins crowned with tentacles to the point my face turns blue with optimism.
I knew I would find the sea again when my grandmother protected me from the territory. I had the map in hand when my grandfather slipped away from the straits.
there better be a heaven.
"Standard monopoly, in the microeconomic sense, is when one firm in a market secures a dominant position in supplying a particular good. Radical monopoly, in contrast, is when an entire institutional complex makes the type of good itself artificially necessary in order to exist and crowds out alternatives. “Radical monopoly imposes compulsory consumption and thereby restricts personal autonomy. It constitutes a special kind of social control because it is enforced by means of the imposed consumption of a standard product that only large institutions can provide.”
I use the term “radical monopoly” to designate… the substitution of an industrial product or a professional service for a useful activity in which people engage or would like to engage. A radical monopoly paralyzes autonomous action in favor of professional deliveries.
The classic example of radical monopoly is car culture and its attendant urban sprawl.
Cars can thus monopolize traffic. They can shape a city into their image — practically ruling out locomotion on foot or by bicycle in Los Angeles…. That motor traffic curtails the right to walk, not that more people drive Chevies than Fords, constitutes radical monopoly…. [T]he radical monopoly cars establish is destructive in a special way. Cars create distance…. They drive wedges of highways into populated areas, and then extort tolls on the bridge over the remoteness between people that was manufactured for their sake. This monopoly over land turns space into car fodder. It destroys the environment for feet and bicycles. …A radical monopoly paralyzes autonomous action in favor of professional deliveries. The more completely vehicles dislocate people, the more traffic managers will be needed, and the more powerless people will be to walk home.
Another example is how the institutional complex around the building industry — contracting firms, materials production, building codes, etc. — has reinforced its own power at the expense of convivial alternatives. Favelas and shantytowns — often displaying a high degree of craftsmanship and technical skill — exist on the outskirts of cities all over the Global South (Colin Ward has a considerable body of work on the tradition of self-built housing in the West, as well). It’s entirely feasible, technically, to produce construction materials conducive to self-built housing by amateurs. “Components for new houses and utilities could be made very cheaply and designed for self-assembly.” Not only do local building codes prohibit such construction as unsafe, but they also prohibit competitive pressure for even professional contracting firms to adopt cheaper, vernacular building techniques using locally sourced material, by codifying conventional methods into law.
The problem of radical monopoly is exacerbated by a shared institutional culture that can imagine no solution to the negative effects of radical monopoly but to intensify the scale of the monopoly. With entire sincerity, for the most part, the managerial elites in a given policy area which suffers from the pathologies of radical monopoly are conditioned to perceive as “extreme” any proposed solution that cannot be carried out within the existing institutional framework, by people like themselves. That is, “the institution has come to define the purpose.” The only cure for a managerial bureaucracy’s mismanagement is to give it more resources and control. The standard approach of a managerial bureaucracy is to “solve a crisis by escalation.” Reforms which are carried out within the framework of radical monopoly “escalate what they are meant to eliminate.”[31]
Faith & Trust Pt. 2/3
Fic Description: In light of the events of The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Yen Sid finds his once eager and curious apprentice to be overcome by a crippling fear. To reinvigorate his student's fire, he takes him to a world whose very lifeblood is the imagination of a certain "boy who never grows up." But things have changed since the sorcerer's last visit, and the place meant to prove the joys of imagination, might be the thing to reveal its darkest possibilities.
Commentary: A very different story than the one I've been working on. This tale is a bit of a Disney crossover between Fantasia and Peter Pan, and serves as a bridge between the timelines of the Disney Fairies movies to that of Gail Carson Levine's Never Fairies trilogy. Feel free to check out the wiki link below to get a glimpse at the world this story is based on.
~~~
The thing about worlds built on imagination is that they tend to follow the imaginer. The whim and ideas that flood a dreamer’s mind are what these places are built on. This is all well and good while their dreams are filled with wonder and magic, when curiosity fills them with hope, and when ‘happily ever after’ falls just in line with what they believed it would be. However, one cruel curse poses the greatest threat to the world of the dreamer.
Reality.
It is possible to fall so deeply into a dream that one forgets their world does not define another. So when the story deviates, when another player steps outside their role and whispers the unthinkable “no”, the dreamer’s world is shaken to its core. Oftentimes, it begins to crumble.
Peter Pan was never one to believe in other worlds outside his own. This was his dream, after all. His laugh alone could turn night to day, or steer a hurricane from its course. His frown could bring thunder rolling into the sky, or send a pirate reeling into the depths of the sea. When he spoke, no one could disagree. If his words fell outside possibility, possibility would hike up its skirt and move. For as long as he could remember, this had been the way of the world.
It took one girl to change all that.
He had been drawn to Wendy Darling in the most peculiar of ways. She’d seemed like most other souls at first. When he smiled, she crumpled. When he invited her towards adventure, she couldn’t say no. She was another wonderful addition to his story and, to be sure, Peter was certain he’d been the one to write her in.
The problem with Wendy Darling was that she began to change. This was new to Peter. Pirates were pirates, and always would be. Lost boys were lost boys, and were certain to never grow up. But Wendy? Wendy could do whatever she pleased. When a certain pixie, too caught up in Peter’s spell to control herself, tried to rid Wendy from the world to keep him for her own, Wendy Darling chose to be kind. When Peter took his attention from Wendy to another, certain she’d be too wonderstruck to care, the girl saw through his childish games and refused to play along. When he’d most wanted her to stay…
She had chosen to leave.
And slowly, little by little, the rest of Peter’s world became tainted with this idea that maybe, just maybe, it wasn’t all his to command. Pirates became more cunning, and Peter found he could no longer predict their every move. The lost boys got smarter, and it seemed to Peter that Slightly was becoming a bit too big for his britches.
Then there was Tink. If anyone had been most changed by Wendy’s coming and going, it was, ironically, the one who’d most wished she’d never come. Tinker Bell had been bound to Peter since the moment they met, drawn to him with such force that it never even occurred to her that she could exist again without him. Then that Wendy-Bird came along, and Tink learned quite quickly that Peter was perhaps not so drawn to herself as she’d been led to believe. That didn’t matter. The enchantment of his presence, his laughter, and his smile still bound her and she knew if he called for her again, she would come. She had to. After all, no one could say no to Peter Pan.
No one but Wendy, apparently, which had put quite a bit of a new perspective on things for Tink. So when the girl left and suddenly, Tinker Bell had Peter Pan all to herself all over again, she found she wasn’t quite sure she wanted him anymore. Of course she still loved him–she couldn’t help that–-but she realized then and there that she was, perhaps, something of a great fairy even without him. So Tink had left too, and Peter felt something he had not ever felt before. He felt lonely.
And with that, the magic of Neverland began to slip.
Yen Sid had not known this when he stepped inside the world, the young Mickey clinging to his robe as he trailed behind him. But such is the way of magic. For though, he thought, it had led him here to solve a problem of his own–the fading hope of his once-curious apprentice–it had also found the perfect opportunity to bring a bit of aid to the world itself. Whether the little mouse was up to the task, however, was another situation entirely. But the magic was unconcerned with that. Its job was to grant opportunity–what the individual chose to do with that was up to them.
When Mickey took his first step on Neverland, the island shuddered. For all his fear and uncertainty, the child still possessed a great deal of imagination, and this was a power the world had begun to desperately crave. In Pixie Hollow, Tinker Bell suddenly found herself overcome with a glowing new idea for an invention, and raced off in search of Lost Things to build it with. The Second Star glowed twice as bright and, seeing this, Peter thought that maybe he could manage to pick himself off the floor of the hideout to search for some treasure. Maybe. But deep in the heart of Neverland’s lone volcano, a different sort of creature stirred. For in the shadow of Peter’s melancholy heartbreak, something dark and treacherous had formed. Mickey’s presence gave it the power it needed to wake.
Imagination goes both ways, after all.
Mickey followed behind his teacher with tentative steps and a wide-eyed wonder. He felt as Yen Sid tensed, and knew at once that something wasn’t quite right.
“Stay close, Mickey,” the sorcerer commanded, with a voice Mickey recognized as one meant to scare him, but not Scare him. His curiosity only grew, but he dared not race off to satiate it. Not after what happened last time. So he settled with looking about him, wondering how any world could have ever become so endlessly green.
Meanwhile, Yen Sid trudged along with a wary eye. The world seemed its usual self to anyone not well versed in the art of magics. But the sorcerer could sense the mischievous nature of the island was in a frenzy, and it clustered around the mouse with which he traveled. With his usual frown, he silently urged it to depart from them—he wanted to reinspire his apprentice, not frighten him all over again. By heavens, where was that Peter Pan?
“Stay here,” he urged the mouse at last as they encountered a particularly thick patch of jungle. While the ferns and foliage parted seamlessly around the sorcerer as he walked through them, Mickey was not nearly so fortunate, and his robe was becoming tangled in all manner of vines and twigs. So silently, the child obliged, and found a place atop a fallen log where he sat swinging his legs as his teacher continued on through the wood in search of someone Mickey didn’t know.
There was quite a lot to take in, even in this little patch of the world. The insects alone were more vibrant than any Mickey had seen, and he wondered as he saw a butterfly passing by if it was here that Yen Sid had found inspiration for some of his most colorful spells. He shuddered a bit as he thought of that, and the memory of his watery escapade flooded his mind all over again. A sick feeling settled in his stomach. No more magic. No more imagination. He’d proven he wasn’t cut out for that sort of thing.
Still, it was hard not to entertain a little bit of creative thought as he sat staring about him. The sunlight filtered through the canopy in golden streams, and Mickey thought it fun to imagine these to be little rivers of pixie dust, carrying with them dancing fairies (which were, really, little bugs and falling leaves) in a winding parade to the forest floor. Yen Sid had mentioned fairies before, hadn’t he? There was one Mickey had always thought particularly interesting, but he couldn’t seem to remember their nam-
No sooner had he begun to think this than something raced by him, too quick to clearly see. With it came the sound of light jingling, and the leaves about Mickey were swept up in such a way that he couldn’t help but sneeze as they brushed across his nose. He swiveled his head to follow the sound, and watched as thousands of sparkling lights settled on the forest floor before swiftly fading away.
His fur stood up and his tail straightened, the very curiosity he’d tried so hard to resist tingling across his entire being. Yen Sid’s instructions still hung over his head, but they were quickly losing their hold. He slid off the log and peered into the shadows, a tentative grin making its way onto his face. It wasn’t really mischief if he only went a little ways away, right? He’d be back before the sorcerer ever knew the better.
Before he knew it, his feet were carrying him through the foliage towards where he’d seen the creature fly. Mickey couldn’t help himself. His excitement had gotten the better of him and for the first time in weeks, it was enough to drown out the fear.
The jungle foliage soon grew sparse, dirt and leaves replaced instead by soft sand beneath his slippers. Mickey kicked off his shoes when it became too difficult to walk on the shore, and laughed as the sand dusted his fur. The ocean rolled in gentle waves, brushing up the shoreline, and its sound nearly disguised the jingling that came from nearby. Nearly.
Mickey drew in a breath when the sound tickled his ears and grinned widely, turning to face it. A faint glow emanated from a small clump of reeds. He tiptoed towards it and gently parted the grass, but the being within was too focused on their own task to notice the comparatively giant creature peering its way.
To be fair, Tinker Bell had a lot to occupy her. There was a pair of Clumsy spectacles lodged deep in the sand that she was having a grand, ol’ time trying to dig out. She hadn’t quite decided what she was going to use them for yet, but she figured the glass might be good for conducting sunlight, and she was sure Fira or Iridessa would be happy for some help. The frames she would keep–she’d gotten a neat little idea out of the blue this morning, and though she wasn’t quite sure how or why she was going to execute it, something told her these would come in handy.
If she could get them out, that was. She’d been yanking on one of the bars for quite some time already, and it refused to budge. Face red with both effort and frustration, she gave it a little kick before grabbing hold with an even tighter grip and yanking with all her might. Something moved this time, only it wasn’t the spectacles. Tink went flying backwards in a flurry of pixie dust, landing straight in a soft bunch of scarlet something or other.
She sat up and shook her head dizzily, wondering just what had broken her fall. Something like crushed velvet surrounded her, and she tilted her head curiously. If there had been another Lost Thing so close to the spectacles, she was certain she would have noticed it. So what…?
No, not what. Who.
She jumped up in a burst of pixie dust, and flew as fast as she could to the other side of the reeds. It wasn’t Peter, and certainly not one of the lost boys–none of them would touch the color red aside from a feather or two (red was a Pirate color, they had long since decided). But if it was a pirate, she had an inkling she’d have been a bit too late to escape their clutches.
Cautiously, she peeked out from one of the reeds to see if she could spot the culprit. She could spot him, all right, considering he wasn’t exactly hiding now, but she’d never seen anyone quite like him before. He was about Tootles’ height, if not a bit smaller, and Tink briefly wondered if maybe he was a Lost Boy after all, judging by the ears atop his head. But no, no…those were his. As was the little tail that wound behind him. She supposed he was a mouse of sorts, though he looked like none Tink could recall, and there was an air of the Clumsies about him too.
When he caught her looking his way he froze, then gave a shy little wave. Tinker Bell wasn’t sure what to think about that. So she reacted as she usually did when someone had minorly inconvenienced her plans for the day, and flew right up to him with a cherry-red face and a load full of colorful tinkling that gave Mickey quite a few new choice words to ask Yen Sid about later on.
That was the strange part, really. Because Tink noticed after a few minutes of ranting that the mouse did seem ashamed, which would have only made sense if he actually understood what she was saying (about how he had interrupted her very important work, and nearly scared her half to blinking out). Tink stopped her rambling and, slowly, her fiery cheeks cooled. Now she was Curious. And if she was Curious, there was hardly room for being Angry.
With a flutter of her wings, she alighted onto the intruder’s nose and peered at him with scrutinizing eyes. Queen Ree had mentioned “The Gift” before–a phenomenon in which a Clumsy could understand the fairies’ distinct tinkling voices–but few of Neverland’s visitors possessed its talent. Peter was one of those few, of course, as was Hook (unfortunately). But just who was this strange newcomer who seemed to wield it, too?
She started when he spoke, and just barely caught enough to actually hear his name. Mickey, apparently. She didn’t know why, but the sound of it made her want to smile. Her wings flitted ever so slightly as she dipped in a tiny curtsy and introduced herself.
Tinker Bell. Er…Tink! Fly with you!
Mickey’s eyes sparkled, and he couldn’t keep from laughing at the sheer excitement running through his veins. A real life fairy! How lucky was he?
Tinker Bell laughed a bit too, having simmered down from her tirade. This new friend of hers was really something. But, as with most tinkers, it was difficult to keep her mind in one place for very long. Before she knew it, she found herself drawn back to the Lost Thing she’d been so unsuccessful in retrieving.
Mickey watched as Tinker Bell fluttered off his muzzle and darted instead to the rusty pair of glasses still buried in the sand. She looked lost in thought, and he realized she was still trying to figure out a way to retrieve the item. He couldn’t imagine why she’d want such a dirty, broken old thing, but figured he might as well help.
It took Mickey considerably less effort to pull the spectacles out of the sand and, when he did, Tinker Bell twirled around with such excitement that pixie dust landed all about his fur and robe. He let out a little yelp, scrambling for something to grip onto as he felt himself lifted off the ground. Tink, on the other hand, seemed less than concerned. She had been a bit distracted while inspecting the spectacles but upon seeing Mickey’s skybound state, she smiled widely and flew up beside him. After all, it had been a while since she’d had a partner to search for Lost Things with–it would be fun to teach someone else how to fly alongside her. Someone who wasn’t Peter Pan.
Meanwhile, the boy in question was having his own sort of adventure, though it wasn’t nearly as easygoing as usual. You see, when Tink had gone back to Pixie Hollow, her pixie dust had, clearly, gone with her. So Peter was left to journey about as anyone else might have, and now was faced with an arduous climb up Torth Mountain in search of treasure. It was the first real adventure he’d embarked on since Wendy had left, and the work might have done him some good had his mind not been set on such sour thoughts.
Who did that Wendy think she was, anyway, leaving adventures and fun behind to…ergh…grow up? Why, Neverland was ten times better than the world outside the Second Star. If she wanted to leave and become a boring, ol’ grown up then fine. His world was better off without her.
Of course, Peter didn’t really think that. But he was so unaccustomed to having someone he cared about do something he didn’t like, that he wasn’t actually sure what to think. It was much easier to assume that Wendy herself was the problem, rather than to admit that maybe his perfect world wasn’t so perfect to everyone.
At long last, Peter reached a ledge near the mountain’s peak and hauled himself over the last bit of rock to climb up on it. He wiped a bead of sweat from his brow and frowned. Flying would have been a whole lot easier but Tink was still being temperamental for some weird reason, and he wasn’t going to be the one to apologize. He’d done nothing wrong, after all.
Besides, here he was all by himself at the top of the mountain. The mouth of an enormous cave loomed before him and he cracked a mischievous smile. There was treasure in there for sure, and he didn’t need anyone else to help him find it. With a haughty sniff, Peter strolled inside the cavern.
Torth mountain was an interesting part of Neverland. It was one of the few places that never seemed to have much, if any, color, and this cave was no exception. Peter was not one to think things through but even he had to wonder why he’d never noticed the cavern before when he had explored Neverland countless times over. As the darkness surrounded him, a feeling of unease that he wasn’t used to settled in his stomach, and he found himself wishing very much that Tink was there to light the way.
All that vanished when, just ahead, a distinct orange glow came into view.
Treasure. Only not the kind Peter had thought.
The disappearance of all Peter’s qualms, and the rising temptation to approach this strange glow, was anything but chance. A deep, dark magic was at work, pulsating from the object to which Peter now made his way. Light fell across his face in an eerie streak as he studied it, and a strange grin crept across his lips. The object’s shape was like that of an egg, though dark and slick as obsidian. Fiery cracks made their way out from the surface it rested on, the source of its glow. Strangest of all, the closer Peter got, the bitterer his thoughts became.
If Wendy had been there, she would have certainly been the one to talk sense into him. But she was not, and that alone was enough to drive Peter’s selfish ignorance to dangerous levels.
With a thought of deliberate defiance, he reached out and grabbed the egg.
Outside, in the space just outside the Lost Boys’ hideout, Yen Sid stood straight up. He felt the change before anyone in Neverland noticed anything at all, but he knew at once that something terrible was about to happen. Slightly, Nibs, and Tootles, all of who seemed clueless as to Peter’s whereabouts, were arguing about something inconsequential when the sorcerer lifted his hands in a rush of magic to silence them. They looked at him with both frustration and confusion, wondering why they were suddenly unable to produce any sound. But in the wake of their own quiet, a distinct silence fell over all of Neverland.
Mickey had been clumsily making his way through Tink's flight lesson when a deafening noise thundered across the island. It was enough to frighten away all his happy thoughts, if only momentarily, and he plummeted to the sand with a yelp. Tink remained hovering in the air, hardly moving as she stared up at one distinct part of the island where a plume of smoke and fire exploded into the air.
Torth Mountain was on fire.

"Pillow Talk" Skull/Billy
"Quite the catch" Bulk/Jason
"Royal pain in the ass" Jack/Sky
Since it's a three in one, I'm going with a theoretical summary/synopsis cluster. Singles next time, please, it makes this a lot cleaner ^^; Title: reckless ambivalence Rating: M Relationships: Billy Cranston/Eugene Skollovitch; Billy Cranston & Farkas Bulkmeier; Billy Cranston & Matthew Cook & Grace Sterling; Billy Cranston & His Parents; Eugene Skullovitch & Stan Skullovitch; Ranger Ensemble. Additional Tags: Coma; Monster Attack Aftermath; Physical Abuse; Parental Neglect; Scarring; Blood; Sibling Relationship; Pining; Guilt; Hand Holding; mention of the Annual Comic that nobody ever brings up gdi; Zordon Admitting to Being a Dick; 5+1 Things. Summary: Billy keeps getting dreams that don't feel like dreams in the aftermath of getting into a verbal fight with Skull, followed by a monster smashing him so hard into a wall that the punk fell into a coma. They were too detailed and the environment felt too much like that time he and his team walked out of Drakkon's make believe world and out into the very ether of the Morphin Grid. "Why do I have to come back again? What do I have to learn?" The questions shouldn't sting so much after the second time he asks Billy, dressed in a hospital gown and draped in orange light like a sundown. Looking so tired and resigned and eyes all wide and wet. But then, Billy actually thinks about it, looks into all the stuff he's missed out on since falling out of Skull's orbit (abandoning him) and begins to feel like he can't breathe: going through Skull's overly full medicine cabinet, helping the nurses in the hospital bathe the blood and sweat off of the scars decorating his back and arms and legs, talking with Bulk about how thin Skull is because his family is always gone and not a lot of people were willing to hire him for odd jobs. What could Billy answer with that could make Eugene (come back) stay?
Title: sheets of egyptian cotton Rating: M Relationships: Farkas Bulkmeier/Jason Scott; Previous Jason Scott/Tommy Oliver/Kimberly Hart; Billy Cranston/Eugene Skullovitch; Rocky Desantos/Adam Park/Aisha Campbell; Zack Taylor/Trini. Additional Tags: Alternate Universe - Underwear Model/Ambulance Driver; Kink Model/Nursing Aid; Eating Disorders; Anxiety; Mention of Physical Abuse; Meet Ugly; Substance Abuse; Frottage; Oral Sex; Cuddling. Summary: Probably the worst way to meet a model that Jason could think of was when some asshole got handsy during the after party and the biggest model on the line gets hit in the head with a champagne bottle trying to get the asshole to get the hell out. Still, Jason could kind of count himself lucky. It wasn't every day that he got to meet a plus sized model without a filter from the pain meds wearing nothing but the silky boxer briefs he had on the runway. Or his skittish friend from the BDSM showcase in the building across the street showing up at the hospital in nothing but a silk see-through kimono and an exceptionally complicated looking ensemble with leather and lace. * Title: dancing on the head of a pin Rating: T Relationships: Jack Landors/Sky Tate; Anubis "Doggie" Cruger/Kat Manx; Z Delgado & Bridge Carson & Syd Drew. Additional Tags: Heartbreak; Emotional Hurt/Comfort; That Last Episode Girlfriend Never Really Sat Right With Me; I Do Like Piggy but We ALL Know He'd Find a Way to Fuck Up; Jack Landors Needs a Hug; Sky Tate Kicks Some Ass; Z Delgado is Coming for Blood. Summary: Here's a level of hell that Jack could not imagine when he quit the SPD and went into business with a new girlfriend and Piggy that the ex-Red Ranger was not expecting: his relationship with Ally ending with her and Piggy hooking up and her cheating on him FOR MONTHS before he found out. One would think he was utterly bullet proof, but even after a whole year of taking on the worst of the worst, fighting an intergalactic menace, almost dying; Jack was as emotionally vulnerable as that kid who grew up on the street with nothing and no one. Somehow, though, Jack didn't mind Sky seeing him so vulnerable.

AFI – Black Sails In The Sunset
When AFI began their fourth studio album, Black Sails In The Sunset, with the memorable gang vocals of “Through our bleeding, we are one!” they lit the match for one of the most explosive band trajectories ever witnessed in this scene. This would be the first LP with the now-classic lineup of Jade Puget, Adam Carson, Hunter Burgan, and Davey Havok, and featured a dramatic shift away from the punk rock sound they had explored on their earlier work in favor of a darker-tinged aesthetic. Black Sails In The Sunset is one of those gripping albums that grab the listener by the throat from the very first spin and beckons them to join in the fray. While AFI certainly weren’t the only punk band to explore a darker side to the sound, they did seem to do it a bit more flawlessly than the bands that would later emulate their career path. This album has recently received a fresh vinyl reissue via Craft Recordings, that releases on July 19, 2024, and it includes several additional bonus tracks like “Midnight Sun,” “Who Knew?”, “Weight Of Words” and the previously vinyl-only song of “Lower It” has been added to the tail end of the tracklisting (rather than closing out Side A, as found on previous vinyl versions). AFI have re-captured our collective imaginations on this thrilling, comprehensive reissue that hits just as hard as it did back in the early summer of 1999. After the opening song of “Strength Through Wounding,” AFI waste little time getting into the business at hand with a blast of punk rock energy found on “Porphyria,” that features the refrain of, “In darkness together, we’re bringing the light / In darkness together, we are forming / The fire tomorrow is born of the night / In darkness together we ignite.” What AFI were doing here was paying a quick homage to their past style, while still blazing a clear path ahead in their own artistic discovery. The band rarely lets up on the gas pedal with punishing songs like “Exsanguination” and “Malleus Maleficarum.” On the latter song in particular, AFI would hint to where they would take the exploration of autumn on Sing The Sorrow with the closing lyrics of “We all begin to burn / Autumn’s flame dances in my eyes / Set alight for all we’ve learned / My ashes falling, can you feel me?” The beats by drummer Adam Carson were spectacularly on point and filled with purpose throughout this memorable song. ”Narrative Of Soul Against Soul” continued down the path of a more brooding type of punk rock energy, while “Clove Smoke Catharsis” was a rare mid-tempo track that found AFI fully embracing the darkness in a metal-tinged song that featured heavy riffs from Jade Puget paired with Havok’s trademark vocal wail. My personal favorite song on the record is “The Prayer Position” since it was one of the more memorable tracks I heard when I witnessed AFI for the first time live at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC, and it prominently features heavy verses paired with a pop-driven refrain of “And in the distance there’s a gathering / That no longer seems so far away.” AFI would fully lean into this pop realm on Sing the Sorrow’s “Dancing Through Sunday,” but this aforementioned song is a great one to point to this discovery in their sound. ”The Last Kiss” hops along with a rock n’ roll passion that should’ve made Guns N’ Roses proud, and the bridge features a really unique-sounding guitar solo from Jade Puget that almost hints to some of the electronica that AFI would put in their later albums. The bass-heavy “Weathered Tome” put the band’s great chemistry on full display, while “At A Glance” showcased that the band could fire on all cylinders for a full album’s duration with ease. Everything quickly builds to the first true ballad AFI had written to date in the classic, “God Called In Sick Yesterday.” From the cautious opening riff from Puget, to Havok’s restrained clean vocals in the verses, the song continues to gather steady momentum before exiting into the darkness of the final lyrics of, “I can’t stand my laughter as… https://chorus.fm/reviews/afi-black-sails-in-the-sunset/

“Adorably Okay” Bridge Carson x Reader
(A/N: Based on my Imagine: Bridge hearing your thoughts about him. I did not expect to do multiple revisions during and after typing it all up. Warnings: Reference to beginnings of a slight panic attack. Use of (Y/N). Word Count: 1,093 words)
Days could mostly be weird. It wasn’t their fault and it was mainly one’s perspective. Such was how people viewed each day in life.
Your day had been pretty average. Keeping a schedule. No big surprises. People, fellow cadets, around you were overall in pleasant spirits.
No big tests today apparently, you thought.
Sure, you weren’t on a path to become a Power Ranger, but that suited you just fine. There were plenty of other responsibilities. Ones you gladly shared with others throughout your time at Headquarters.
You saw enough of your crush, an actual Power Ranger, regardless of your job position. Lucky you. Your crush, Bridge Carson, was as nice as a dream. The two of you had talked before loads of times, but you hadn’t pursued anything beyond friendship.
Honestly, you weren’t sure how. But you were happy. Fully content to have a friendship with the most cute and intelligent person you knew.
And so darn adorable.
Walking from your room with a book of choice, you made your way through the halls, intent on returning the book to a friend. A cadet, busy as others.
Thankfully, the walk wasn’t far, even if S.P.D. Headquarters was enormous.
It was a wonder then, when a familiar pairing of grey and green caught your attention.
“Hey, Bridge,” you greeted as he started walking up to you with a smile.
That smile could brighten any day.
“Hi.” Bridge gave a short wave and quickly begun talking once he stood in front of you. “I heard your thoughts again. You think I’m adorable. How come—.”
A large book slipped from your fingers and dropped to the floor.
Everything in you seemed to go into a static mode, like you were somewhere between panic and complete shutdown. Worried thoughts trying to consume you.
He knows I like him? No. He can’t. What do I do? Why’s he here to tell me? Does he want me to stop?
“(Y/N)?” Bridge tilted his head. “(Y/N)?” His dark eyebrows pinched together in concern.
Upon Bridge’s announcement, it became impossible to function outside of your own mind. You were incredibly ill prepared.
He knows? Your vision hardly picked up details of the flooring. Worry started overtaking you. Pulling you away from your more rational thoughts.
Black-gloved hands grabbed a hold of your arms.
“Hey.” Bridge’s voice was gentle. “Can you hear me?” Thumbs rubbed small circles along your uniform.
He can’t just talk about my thoughts. Gah! Just…you can hear him. Answer him. Something. He’s worried.
Taking a moment or two, you were finally able to nod.
“Okay. Good. Uh.”
Just breathe, you thought. It’s okay. It’s okay. Don’t freak him out. He just wanted to talk. It’s Bridge not…something bad.
He took a step closer. “Here.” Bridge placed one your hands on the center of his chest. “Follow my breathing.”
Heat whipped through you in a confusing mixture of surprised panic and nervous excitement.
Okay?
“Breathe in.” His chest rose underneath your palm.
Staring where he held your hand to him, you copied his breathing. It went a little shaky. Yet you made progress.
“Breathe out.”
Exhaling, you felt the beating of your friend’s heart. Your crush’s heartbeat. Strong and uncharacteristically quick.
It’s okay. There’s nothing wrong. You closed your eyes and centered yourself. With Bridge as your anchor, you knew you were safe. No matter what surprising or intrusive thoughts made themselves known, you would be okay. Truly and honestly.
Out of all words to react to. He can’t know specifically how I feel from just that word. Goodness. And he wouldn’t be mean about it.
You swallowed.
“Please don’t surprise me like that.” You muttered, feeling calmer.
“I’m sorry.” His voice was soft. “Are you all right, now?”
“Yeah… My mind took a turn.”
“I didn’t mean to upset you. I was just thinking about you again.”
Your eyes snapped open. “Again?”
“Yeah. Thinking about what we ate yesterday, about what we were reading and which of your thoughts I’ve heard. You know.” His bright brown eyes could hardly keep steady eye contact with you while he spoke.
Glancing down to his chest, you focused on how the rate of his heart beat sped up. Neither of you made a move closer nor away.
“So, it’s okay that I think you’re adorable?” You asked, boldly keeping your hand on him.
Just breathe. This is new. Asking him is fine.
His other hand slipped down to hold your free hand. “Yes.”
Oh. Oh, he likes it?
“When I found you, I wanted to ask: how come you haven’t told me? Out loud. I wanted to know.”
The vulnerable conversation had opened. Both of you equally giving.
“I don’t know.” You answered truthfully. Sort of.
It’s not weird to call someone ‘adorable’, in general. If you know them. And he wanted to know why. Wants to.
“Do you want me to?” You asked quietly.
However empty the hallway appeared, sound carried. There was no telling who could walk by. Who might overhear or see.
The conversation curved closer to the heart.
Goodness and the universe knew how much Bridge meant to you. How much you liked him. Adored him. Even more so after he calmed you.
“Yes and I do like when I hear your thoughts too.” Bridge answered, his hand pressing yours more firmly on his chest. “And I really like you. I hope it’s alright to tell you now.”
Your mouth fell open slightly.
Was he truly telling you? Confessing to you?
Your feelings for him were reciprocated?
“Do you like me?” He asked timidly from your silence.
Those warm brown eyes pulled at your heartstrings. Tender and caring. Always attentive when you were near.
“I do. I really like you too.” You whispered.
Releasing both of your hands, Bridge held your face gently. His gaze and smile were just as soft. The speed of his heart was the only contrast.
He likes me. You thought happily, he’s adorable.
“So adorable.” You murmured.
Breathing out a small, delighted laugh, Bridge leaned forward and kissed you tenderly.
Your day had not gone weirdly nor had it been predictable. The day held warmth and good intentions.
A forgotten book.
Two friends standing in a hallway.
Tasks were on standby.
What was a few more kisses shared between two people?
“You’re so adorable and—”
He kissed you.
“—incredibly smart.” You continued and kissed him back.
Bridge smiled against your lips again as you played with his hair.
He was your adorable Power Ranger.

ever since new york
spring - five years into the future after eli's nyc show
Sylvia follows Carson through the streets of New York, grinning as she looks around.
Carson grins, swinging their hands, “Sylvie?”
She hums and looks up at him with a smile, “Yeah?”
He smiles, “you’re the love of my life.”
Sylvia grins brightly and leans her head against his arm, “You’re mine. Always have been.”
Carson smiles and kisses the top of her head, “that means everything to me.”
Sylvia squeezes his arm and grins, “You mean everything to me.”
He grins, “It’s so mutual, baby..”
Sylvia leans up on her toes and kisses him happily.
Carson grins and returns the kiss.
Sylvia pulls back and nudges her nose against his with a smile.
He smiles widely, “What’s something you really wanna do or see here before we go home?”
Sylvia hums softly and tilts her head to the side, “I think we have to do Empire State Building but also I wanna see the Brooklyn bridge.”
Carson grins. “okay, we’ll definitely do those things then.”
She nods with a grin, “What about you?”
He smiles, “I wanna see some sites in Central Park.” They round the corner and he grins as the park appears and he tugs her along.
Sylvia squeezes his hand and nods her head, “Right now even though it’s late?”
Carson nods and smiles, “Yeah. They have fairy lights set up in certain areas and it’s supposed to be really pretty.”
She raises her brows and grins, “Oh cute!”
He grins and swings their hands as they walk.
Sylvia laughs and laces her fingers with his.
He smiles widely at her and lifts their hands to kiss hers.
Sylvia grins and leans into his side.
Carson smiles widely and kisses each knuckle.
She laughs and shakes her head, “Carson..”
His brows raise and he laughs, “Yes, my love?”
Sylvia grins and shakes her head, “Nothing, I just love you.”
He grins widely. “I love you too.”
Sylvia squeezes his arm as she looks around while they walk, “It’s so different from home.”
Carson nods his head, “It is. It’s fun though.”
Sylvia nods in agreement and smiles, “I mean, it’s definitely the city that never sleeps. Tahoe is so quiet.”
He nods and smiles, “Tahoe is the opposite of here.”
She laughs as she shakes her head, “Total opposite. And I wouldn’t want to live here but it is fun to experience. I mean it’s even different from LA.”
Carson grins and nods, “definitely good for a get away but not for forever.”
Sylvia laughs with a nod, “You get me, Car.”
He smiles widely, “I do get you.”
Sylvia giggles and kisses his shoulder, “You’re my best friend.”
Carson grins widely, “And you’re mine.” They reach Bow Bridge where there are a ton of fairy lights strung up to illuminate the scenery and he brings her into it.
Sylvia widens her eyes and looks around, “Oh wow! This is beautiful!”
He smiles widely, “Almost as beautiful as you.”
She grins and squeezes his hand, “You’re so sweet.”
Carson smiles at her, “Sylvie, you are the best thing to ever happen to me, and I can’t imagine my life without you.”
Sylvia smiles brightly and tilts her head to the side, “You know I feel the same way.”
He smiles, “I do know. I know that you love me just as much as I love you and that it’s unconditional. And that’s why I brought you here. To ask you something..” He takes out the ring box and sinks down onto one knee in front of her as he opens it, “Will you marry me, Sylvie?”
Sylvia gasps in surprise as her hand flies up her mouth and her eyes well up, “Carson…” She nods her head quickly and grins, “Yes..yes! Of course, I’ll marry you.”
Carson grins widely and takes her left hand, sliding the ring onto her finger and he kisses it on her finger.
She grins widely as she lets happy tears drop onto her cheeks and she shakes her head, “I had no idea! Oh my god, come here.” Her hands move to his cheeks as she leans down to kiss him.
Carson returns the kiss with a grin, standing up so they both can.
Sylvia kisses him happily and slides her hands onto the back of his head.
His arms move around her and he picks her up, twirling her around as they kiss.
She squeals against his lips and pulls back to laugh, “Oh my god..you are officially my fiancé.”
Carson grins widely, “We’re getting married!”
Sylvia giggles and slides her fingers through his hair, “Does everyone else know?”
He laughs, “Your dad, Eli, Jade, and Teddy.”
She grins and leans her forehead against his.
Carson smiles and squeezes her tight.
Sylvia smiles and closes her eyes, “I love you, so much.”
He grins widely, “I love you so much.. fiancée…”
She laughs and looks up at him, “You’re gonna be my husband.”
Carson grins, “I cant wait to make you my wife.”
Sylvia giggles and kisses him happily.
He grins widely into the kiss.
She tilts her head into the kiss and hums happily.
Carson grins and rubs her back.
Sylvia pulls back and grins as she brings her hand down to look at the ring.
He smiles widely and laughs happily as he watches her before taking out his phone to take a picture.
She grins at the ring then up at him, “It’s beautiful..”
Carson grins and takes another photo of her, “just like you.”
Sylvia giggles and holds out the ring for the picture.
He laughs and takes a close up of the ring.
She grins and leans up to kiss him again, “Let’s find someone to take our picture.”
Carson grins, “Okay, baby.”
Sylvia stops a nice couple also walking and asks them to take their picture. She moves back next to Carson and puts her hand on his chest, showing off the ring.
He grins brightly for the first picture and then kisses her temple for the second.
Sylvia smiles widely for the pictures and looks up at him for the last shot before thanking the couple and taking the phone back.
Carson thanks the couple and he hugs her tight.
She hugs him back and giggles, “Is this why you wanted to come here tonight?”
He laughs and nods, “Yes it is.”
Sylvia grins up at him and shakes her head, “I am still so surprised.”
Carson grins, “I’m really glad I was able to surprise you.”
She pecks his lips and slides her hands over his back.
He smiles widely, “Lets go eat and celebrate.”
Sylvia nods with a laugh as she takes his hand.
Carson grins widely, “My fiancée!”
She blushes as she swings their hands with a laugh, “And my fiancé.”
He laughs happily as they walk.
Sylvia grins up at him and squeezes his hand.
Carson smiles widely, “We should find a venue and set a date, even if it’s years from now.”
She nods in agreement and smiles, “In Tahoe, right?”
He nods and smiles, “undoubtedly.”
Sylvia hums and squeezes his hand, “Winter time?”
Carson grins and nods. “Absolutely.”
She grins widely at him and nods, “Perfect.”
He smiles and kisses her head.
Sylvia leans into his arm and grins.
Carson grins, “Syl?”
She hums and looks up at him, “What?”
He smiles. “I’m so excited.”
Sylvia grins widely and raises her brows, “Have you thought about what you want for a wedding?”
He shakes his head and smiles, “Just the bride.”
She smiles up at him and squeezes his hand, “Well I know that. I wanted I was going to marry you since we were kids.”
Carson smiles, “I liked the way the fairy lights looked. Maybe we could incorporate those.”
Sylvia grins with a nod, “I love that idea.”
He grins widely, “and it’ll connect our proposal with our wedding.”
She hums happily and nods her head, “I’ll start a Pinterest board.”
Carson grins and nods, “perfect.” He stops outside a restaurant to read a menu, “how does this sound?”
Sylvia looks over the menu and nods her head, “Perfect. I’m hungry.”
He smiles and opens the door to the restaurant for her.
She thanks him and walks inside, nodding to the bar, “Let’s just sit there.”
Carson smiles, “Okay.” He goes to sit with her, “Champagne to toast?”
Sylvia nods with a laugh, “Oh yes!”
He smiles widely and when the bartender comes over Carson orders champagne and their truffle fries.
Sylvia slides her hand onto his leg and grins before looking at her hand with the ring.
Carson watches her with a cheesy grin on his face.
She grins at the ring before looking up at him, “It’s..perfect.”
He presses a big kiss to her cheek.
Sylvia giggles and squeezes his thigh.
Carson grins and pulls back, “it looks so beautiful on you.”
She grins at the ring and leans her chin on his shoulder.
He presses a kiss to her forehead, “I’m so happy you like it.”
Sylvia grins and nods her head, “It’s exactly what I imagined.”
Carson grins even bigger, “and the proposal was romantic enough?”
She smiles brightly and nods her head, “I would’ve loved it if it was in our living room while eating Chinese food.”
He smiles and kisses her lovingly.
Sylvia returns the kiss with a hum.
Carson grins against her lips.
She pulls back as the champagne arrives and she grins, “Cheers!”
He grins, “Cheers!” He taps his glass against hers.
Sylvia clinks her glass with his and laughs, “To getting married!”
Carson smiles widely, “to you saying yes!”
She giggles and takes a sip with a happy hum.
He grins and sips his as well.
Sylvia grins and sets hers down, “We’ll get to take a honeymoon, too.”
Carson grins, “where do you wanna go?”
She sips her drink and hums happily, “Somewhere warm.”
He smiles, “relaxing only or do we wanna eat good?”
Sylvia tilts her head to the side and laughs, “Both!”
Carson grins, “Italy? Greece?”
She grins and points at him, “Both?”
He laughs, “Okay.”
Sylvia giggles and nods her head, “Question though.”
Carson raises his brows and smiles, “Yessss?”
She smiles and squeezes his thigh, “Do you mind if I hyphenate my last name?”
Carson hums, “Can I hyphenate mine too?”
Sylvia nods with a grin, “Of course.”
He grins, “Then I don’t mind at all. Not that I would’ve anyways.”
She grins and kisses his cheek, “Thank you. I just know my dad would want Dr. Montez somewhere in my name.”
Carson smiles, “And I love and respect your dad.”
Sylvia grins and nudges her nose against his, “I know, he loves you.”
He grins and kisses her softly.
She returns the kiss with a grin.
Carson sighs happily and rubs her leg.
Sylvia leans into him and kisses him happily.
He smiles widely and slowly pulls back, “Who are you gonna text first?”
She grins and sips her champagne, “Probably my family.”
Carson grins widely and sips his champagne, “I cannot stop smiling.”
Sylvia giggles and leans her head against his shoulder, “Me neither.”
He sighs happily and kisses her head.
She hums as the food comes over and she lifts her head, “Oh yes.”
Carson grins widely, “good I was starving.”
Sylvia nods as she laughs and starts to dig in.
He smiles widely as he eats with her and he taps his foot against hers.
Sylvia laughs as she shakes her head, “I had no idea how hungry I was.”
Carson laughs, “Should we get more food?”
She shakes her head and laughs, “No this is perfect.”
He smiles at her lovingly, “Okay, baby.”
Sylvia nudges her elbow against his and smiles, “Unless you want more.”
Carson grins, “We’ll get dessert.”
She grins and nods her head as she leans closer to him, “How about room service dessert with the fancy hotel robes on?”
He grins widely, “Oh, deal.”
Sylvia laughs as she finishes her champagne.
Carson smiles, “Want another glass?”
She hums and looks at him with a shrug, “Do you want another?”
He smiles, “I’m okay if you are.”
Sylvia nods in agreement and smiles, “I’m buzzing enough without it.”
Carson grins and kisses her cheek a few times.
She giggles and eats few more fries.
He smiles, “favorite bar food?”
Sylvia grins and shrugs one shoulder, “Messy but I do love wings.”
Carson grins, “you’re so cute when you eat wings.”
She wrinkles her nose and giggles, “Such a mess but so delicious.”
He laughs and kisses her nose.
Sylvia laughs and nods to him, “What’s your favorite?”
Carson hums as he thinks, “Potato skins.”
She grins and nods her head, “Oh that reminds me nachos too..I love the messy foods I guess!”
He grins widely, “I love nachos too.”
Sylvia kisses his shoulder and giggles.
Carson grins, “I love being engaged to my best friend.”
She smiles wider and nudges her nose against his, “Best friend for ever.”
He smiles widely, “and ever and ever.”
Sylvia glances at the ring and grins, “Should we head back to the hotel?”
Carson smiles, “yeah.” He asks for the check from the bartender.
She grins and wraps her hand over his arm.
He grins widely and pays for them quickly.
Sylvia eats the last fry before hopping off the bar stool.
Carson gets up and takes her hand.
She laces her fingers through his and leads him outside.
He smiles, “It’s a pretty close walk from here.”
Sylvia nods as she leans into his side, “Lead the way.”
Carson smiles as he leads her to the hotel.
She moves her free hand to his arm as she walks with a grin.
He smiles widely, “This feels magical.”
Sylvia giggles with a nod, “Honestly the best night of my life.”
Carson grins and kisses her head.
She closes her eyes and leans into him.
He smiles widely as they walk the short distance to the hotel and he brings her inside.
Sylvia follows him up into the room and grins widely.
Carson grins, “go change, I’ll order room service.”
She laughs with a nod as goes into the bathroom.
He smiles and places an order for dessert from room service.
Sylvia undresses and puts on the robe and brings his out.
Carson grins, “thank you, baby.”
She nods as she hops onto their bed.
He gets undressed and then puts the robe on.
Sylvia watches him with a grin, “Future husband.”
Carson grins widely, “and now there’s a ring on your finger to prove it.”
She holds up her hand and wiggles her fingers with a smile.
He laughs happily and leans over to kiss her.
Sylvia returns the kiss and giggles, “What did you order?”
Carson grins, “flourless chocolate cake cause that’s our thing and creme brûlée.”
She nods and curls into his side, “Perfect.”
He smiles widely and holds her tight.
Sylvia slides her hand up to his cheek and kisses him gently.
Carson grins and leans into her touch as he returns the kiss.
She smiles against his lips and hums happily.
He smiles and rubs her side as they kiss.
Sylvia brushes her thumb over his jaw and grins.
Carson sighs happily and smiles into the kiss.
She pulls back slightly and grins, “I love you so much.”
He grins widely, “and I love you so much.”
Sylvia nudges her nose against his with a hum.
Carson laughs happily and squeezes her.
She giggles and hugs him close.
He smiles widely and buries his face in her neck.
Sylvia slides her hands over his back and kisses his hair.
Carson grins, “Dr. Montez-Nichols..”
She laughs and closes her eyes, “And you sure you wanna hyphenate too?”
He smiles. “Yeah, I wanna be Mr. Montez-Nichols. Especially since you won’t be a Mrs.”
Sylvia kisses his cheek with a smile, “I’ll always be your Mrs.”
Carson grins, “even if you’re a doctor first?”
She nods and grins at him, “I’m your girlfriend, fiancée, wife, best friend before I am a doctor.”
He smiles and kisses her softly.
Sylvia kisses him back happily.
Carson grins widely against her lips.
Sylvia pulls back as she hears the knock on the door.
He gets up to get the food and he tips the guy.
She sits up in bed and grins as she watches him.
Carson brings over the desserts and lays beside her in bed.
Sylvia giggles as she picks up a fork, holding a bite of chocolate cake to him.
He grins widely as he eats the bite.
She laughs and takes a bite for herself.
Carson grins, “As good as the one I fed you in the coffee shop.”
Sylvia laughs and shakes her head, “I love that you always make me take time for me and for us. Especially that day.”
He smiles widely, “I’m always gonna look after you.”
She grins and leans over to kiss him, “I know. Thank you, babe.”
Carson grins widely, “you’re welcome.”
Sylvia smiles and holds up another bite for him.
He grins and eats another bite.
She laughs and takes another bite for herself with a hum.
Carson smiles and opens the creme brûlée and holds a bite to her lips.
Sylvia grins and leans forward to take a bite.
He smiles, “how is it?”
She nods with a laugh, “Amazing.”
Carson grins widely and takes a bite for himself.
Sylvia raises her brows and hums, “Thoughts?”
He smiles widely, “It’s really good.”
She laughs and nods to the plate, “Which do you prefer?”
Carson hums, “the chocolate.”
Sylvia laughs and nods as she holds up another bite to him.
He grins as he eats the bite.
She grins and hums softly, “So chocolate wedding cake?”
Carson laughs. “Is that what you want?”
Sylvia shrugs one shoulder and hums, “I wanna try everything.”
He laughs, “good. Cause I want a cake tasting too.”
She laughs and nods to the creme brûlée, “Can I have another bite?”
Carson grins and feeds her a bite.
Sylvia hums as she takes the bite with a smile.
He smiles widely, “Do you have a vision for our wedding already?”
She shrugs with a smile, “I want woodsy and wintery, that’s pretty much it.”
Carson grins, “and now with fairy lights.”
Sylvia nods with a grin, “It works perfectly!”
He smiles at her lovingly, “Our wedding..”
Sylvia leans over and pecks his lips, “I can’t wait.”
Carson hums and puckers his lips at her.
She grins and leans over to kiss him deeply.
He returns the deep kiss with a grin.
Sylvia grins and kisses him lovingly.
Carson sighs happily as he kisses her lovingly back.
She returns the kiss and pulls back slightly, “Let’s move the dessert so I can get closer.”
He smiles and moves the desserts to the beside table.
Sylvia grins and shifts closer to him before kissing him hard.
Carson whimpers and kisses her back just as hard.
She shifts into her back and pulls him with her as she kisses him deeply.
He kisses her just as deeply as he leans over her, untying her robe.
Sylvia grins against his lips and helps him slip off her robe.
Carson pushes her robe off the bed and then unties his own.
She grins and breaks the kiss to help him take off his robe, “My fiancé..”
He grins widely, “My fiancée..”
Sylvia slides her hands over his back and grins, “We get to have engaged sex.”
Carson nods his head and grins, “Yeah we do, baby..” his hand slides down her stomach.
She makes a soft sound and grins at him.
He moves his hand between her legs before joking, “Now that we’re engaged does that mean we’ll never have group sex again?”
Sylvia whimpers softly and raises her brows, “I don’t know. Is there rules about that?”
Carson laughs, “No, I’m joking with you.” He rubs her center slowly.
She laughs and rocks her hips into his touch with a moan, “But I like having you to myself.”
He grins at her, “I’m always yours, Sylvie..”
Sylvia smiles and leans her forehead against his, “But we did have group sex with a rockstar and that’s a pretty insane story.”
Carson laughs and rubs her harder, “Yeah it is.. he makes it hard to compete.”
She moans and shakes her head, “No because you’re the love of my life and make me come harder than anyone. It’s just sex with them.”
He grins and kisses her neck heatedly as his fingers move against her.
Sylvia leans her head to the side and grins.
Carson sucks on her skin and hums as he rubs her clit.
She whimpers his name and rocks into his touch.
He kisses up her neck as his fingers roll around her clit.
Sylvia moans his name as she lifts her hips to him.
Carson groans and he moves his fingers faster.
She slides her nails over his back and whimpers.
He moans and sucks on her neck again.
Sylvia moans loudly and leans her head back.
Carson groans and rubs her harder, “Fuck..”
She whimpers his name and rocks her hips into his touch.
He moans, “Tell me what you want, fiancée..”
Sylvia moans softly as she looks up at him, “Your mouth..”
Carson groans and heatedly kisses down her body.
She slides her fingers through his hair as she sighs happily.
He flicks his tongue against her nipples and then kisses down her stomach.
Sylvia gasps and arches her back.
Carson grins and moves between her legs, lifting her thighs onto his shoulders.
She gently tugs in his hair playfully and grins at him.
He smirks at her and licks up her center slowly from her entrance to her clit.
Sylvia gasps and runs her fingers through his hair.
Carson rolls his tongue around her clit.
She whines his name and grips the sheets with her free hand.
He groans and sucks on her clit.
Sylvia lifts her hips as she moans louder.
Carson moans and works his tongue against her.
She cries out and grips the sheets.
He grips her hips tight and sucks on her center.
Sylvia looks down at him and moans his name.
Carson moans and laps his tongue eagerly.
She cries out and tugs on his hair.
He groans and moves his tongue harder.
Sylvia moans his name and arches her back, “I’m gonna come..”
Carson moans against her and keeps moving his tongue.
She cries out and hits her climax, gripping his hair.
He groans loudly against her and squeezes her hips.
Sylvia slides her hand down from his hair and whimpers, “Carson..”
Carson pulls back and smirks at her.
She grins and moves her hand to stroke his cheek as she wiggles her ring finger.
He laughs happily and kisses up her body.
Sylvia laughs and slides her hands over his back.
Carson grins and kisses along her neck.
She tilts her head to the side and grins, “I love you..”
He smiles widely, “I love you too..”
Sylvia smirks and plays with his hair, “That was amazing.”
Carson grins, “I love going down on you.”
She grins and wraps her legs around him, “You’re incredible.”
He smiles widely, “Wanna know what’s about to be even more incredible.”
Sylvia raises her brows and hums softly.
Carson grins, “engaged sex.” He moves to tease her clit with his tip.
She grins before she lets out a soft moan.
He glides his length back and forth between her folds with a moan.
Sylvia slides her hands over his back as she whimpers his name.
Carson moans and sets his tip at her entrance.
She moans and leans her forehead against his, “Carson..”
He groans and slowly pushes into her.
Sylvia cries out softly and grips his shoulders.
Carson groans and starts to roll his hips into hers.
She tightens her legs around his and moans his name.
He moans and kisses her deeply.
Sylvia returns the kiss as she rocks her hips up.
Carson groans into the kiss and pushes into her harder.
Sylvia slides her hands onto his shoulder blades and pulls him closer as she moans into the kiss.
He moans and thrusts into her faster.
She breaks the kiss and cries out his name.
Carson groans and grips her thigh tight.
Sylvia leans her head back as she digs her nails into his shoulders.
He moans and sucks on her neck as he thrusts his hips harder.
She moans his name and rocks her hips to meet his.
Carson groans and moves faster.
Sylvia cries out as her stomach clenches.
He pulls back and groans loudly, his abdomen tightening as he keeps up his thrusts.
She clenches around him as she hits her climax and cries out his name loudly.
Carson groans her name as he hits his orgasm.
Sylvia digs her nails into his shoulder blades and moans.
He moans and presses his lips to hers.
She returns the kiss as she hums.
Carson smiles into the kiss and sighs happily.
Sylvia relaxes her body under him as she smiles against his lips.
He slowly pulls out of her and groans.
She whimpers softly and slides her hands over his back.
Carson smiles and lays next to her.
Sylvia turns to him and giggles, “Engaged sex is the best.”
He laughs and nods his head.
She grins and slips her leg between his.
Carson grins and holds her tight.
Sylvia leans her forehead against his and sighs happily.
He grins and looks into her eyes, “my beautiful fiancée.”
She grins as she looks down at the ring.
Carson smiles and kisses her head.
Sylvia shakes her head with a grin, “I can’t believe it.”
He laughs happily, “Believe it.”
She grins up at him and shakes her head.
Carson smiles and kisses her softly.
Sylvia returns the kiss with a hum.
He smiles and strokes her cheek.
She leans into his touch and sighs happily.
He smiles widely and deepens the kiss slightly.
Sylvia strokes his cheek and kisses him deeper.
Carson sighs contently and pulls her closer.
She breaks the kiss and grins at him.
He chuckles and smiles, “Hi..”
Sylvia grins and nudges her nose against his, “Hi, fiancé.”
Carson chuckles and pecks her lips a few times.
She returns each kiss with a grin.
He smiles widely and rubs her back.
Sylvia hums and nudges her nose against his, “Wanna finish the dessert?”
Carson grins, “sure, baby.”
She giggles and rolls over to grab the tray.
He chuckles and sits up.
Sylvia leans back against the pillows and grins as she takes a bite of the chocolate.
Carson grins and opens his mouth for a bite.
She lifts a bite to his lips with a grin.
His eyes widen and he laughs happily before kissing her.
Sylvia giggles before she kisses him happily.
Carson grins as they kiss.
She smiles against his lips and mumbles, “You taste so good..”
He groans, “Sylvie..”
Sylvia grins and raises her brows, “Yeesss?”
Carson smiles widely, “damn.”
She grins and takes another bite of their dessert.
He grins widely, “can I have some too please?”
Sylvia nods and holds up a bite of crème brûlée.
Carson laughs and eats the bite.
She giggles and kisses his jaw gently.
He smiles widely and rubs her thigh.
Sylvia holds up a bite of the chocolate with a grin.
Carson laughs and eats the bite of dessert.
She hums and takes another bite herself.
He smiles and squeezes her thigh.
Sylvia grins and leans into him, “Want the last bite?”
Carson shakes his head and grins, “you have it, baby.”
She nods and finishes the dessert, putting the plate back on the side table.
He pulls her to him and kisses her deeply.
Sylvia returns the deep kiss with a moan.
Carson makes a small noise at her moan and he kisses her heatedly.
She shifts to straddle his lap and kisses him harder.
He groans and slides his hands all along her body.
Sylvia whimpers against his lips and grinds her hips down to his.
Carson moans and glides his nails down along her back.
She shivers at his touch and tilts her head into the kiss.
He massages her tongue with his as he grips her bottom.
Sylvia moans against his lips and rocks her hips down.
Carson groans and slaps his hand against one of her cheeks.
She gasps against his lips and tugs on his lower lip.
He lets out another groan and spanks the other cheek.
Sylvia pulls back from the kiss and moans softly, “Car..”
Carson smirks. “Yes?”
She rolls her hips down and grins, “I like when you spank me.”
He moans and nips at her jaw. “I like when you grind against me.”
Sylvia makes a soft sound and rocks her hips against his.
Carson groans louder and spanks her a little harder.
She gasps before she moans and leans forward, “What’s something you want to try?”
His brows raise, “like position wise?”
Sylvia shrugs her shoulders, “In any way. We’re going to be together forever, we should do everything.”
Carson grins, “can I get back to you about that? I’m a little distracted by your pussy on my cock.”
She laughs as she moves her hand to stroke his length.
He groans and moves his hand to rub her center.
Sylvia lifts her hips to his touch as she moans and pumps her hand up and down slowly.
Carson moves his fingers faster and moans her name.
She moans louder and leans her head back.
He kisses along her neck and rubs her harder.
Sylvia squeezes his length and cries out his name.
Carson groans and sucks on her neck.
She moves her hips to angle his tip at her entrance, “I need you..”
He whimpers, “Ride me, baby..”
Sylvia drops her hips slightly as she whines his name.
Carson groans loudly and rubs her hips.
She rolls her hips in a circle as she whimpers.
He moans loudly and slaps her ass.
Sylvia gasps and rocks her hips down with the slap, “Car!”
Carson groans loudly, “Yes, baby..”
She cries out and rocks her hips down farther.
He moans loudly, “Fuck..”
Sylvia drags her nails over his chest as she drops her hips all the way down, “Oh my god..”
Carson groans and thrusts up into her to meet her hips, “that’s it, baby..”
She cries out as she leans her head back.
He moans and then spanks her harder.
Sylvia grinds her hips down harder as she moans his name and drags her nails over his skin.
Carson groans loudly and grips her ass tight.
She shifts her hips up before dropping them roughly with a soft cry.
He lets out a cry with her and thrusts up into her hard.
Sylvia cries out as she feels her body tense up, “I’m so close…”
Carson moans loudly and he keeps moving his hips, “Fuck me too.”
She rocks her hips to meet his a few more times before she cries out and shakes as she hits her climax.
He groans and thrusts into her hard as he climaxes and releases.
Sylvia moans his name as she slumps down slightly, “Carson..”
Carson holds her tight against him and whimpers.
She lays against him as she tries to catch her breath.
He kisses her head a bunch of times as he pants.
Sylvia tilts her head to the side and smiles.
Carson rubs her back and sighs happily.
She kisses his neck and hums softly.
He grins, “Holy shit..”
Sylvia lifts her head and grins at him, “Yeah?”
Carson nods and grins at her, “Hell yeah.”
She giggles and nudges her nose against his.
He smiles widely and kisses her deeply.
Sylvia returns the deep kiss with a smile.
Carson grins and slides his hand along her back.
She kisses him passionately and slides her hand over his chest.
He hums and kisses her just as passionately.
Sylvia makes a soft sound as she pulls back and grins.
Carson grins at her, “Wow..”
She smiles and nudges her nose against his, “Wow you.”
He laughs and pecks her lips a few times.
Sylvia returns the kiss and laughs with him.
Carson grins and rubs her waist.
She shifts off his lap and makes a soft sound.
He whimpers and pulls her closer.
Sylvia curls into his side and wraps her leg around his.
Carson smiles as he holds her.
She presses her hand against his chest and smiles at the ring.
He laughs happily as he watches her, “I love that.”
Sylvia grins and looks up at him, “I keep forgetting about it then catch sight and it’s so beautiful.”
Carson grins at her, “I love you.”
She grins at him and moves that hand to his cheek, “I love you.”
He smiles and leans into her touch.
Sylvia pecks his lips with a grin.
Carson returns the quick kiss and sighs happily.
She hums and lays her head down next to him.
He smiles and looks into her eyes lovingly.
Sylvia grins and draws a heart on his shoulder with her index finger.
Carson smiles widely and kisses her nose.
She scrunches up her nose and laughs.
He grins and cuddles into her.
Sylvia slides her hand over his hair and sighs happily.
Carson smiles, “I already love being engaged.”
She strokes his cheek again and laughs, “I do too.”
He chuckles happily and leans into her touch.
Sylvia drops her hand to his neck and grins, “What’s the plan tomorrow?”
Carson smiles, “Brooklyn bridge.”
She nods as she closes her eyes, “Can’t wait.”
He smiles, “And the other thing you said that I’m too tired to remember.”
Sylvia laughs sleepily and kisses his shoulder, “Empire State Building.”
Carson nods and laughs, “that’s the one.”
She grins and curls into his side.
He smiles and holds her tight.
Sylvia sighs happily and kisses his chest.
Carson shuts his eyes and rubs her back:
She starts to get tired and hums, “I’m gonna sleep so well.”
He laughs softly, “Me too.”
Sylvia yawns as she speaks sleepily, “I love you..”
Carson’s hold on her lightens as starts to doze, “I love you..”
She starts to fall asleep against him with a smile.
He hums and falls asleep with her.

Found a Bridge Carson x Reader!!! Sweet~! So cute!!!
The Hardest Words
Anon asks: Can I please have a imagine where Bridge tries to ask out the reader but is a nervous wreck?
Here you go! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It was relatively quiet in the common room. A few cadets hovered around the arcade machines but you were left on your own at a table by the window, reading a book. It wasn’t really grabbing your attention; Sky had suggested it but you began to wonder why you picked it up based on the suggestion of someone who thought reading through the SPD handbook weekly was ‘fun’.
Your attention diverted from said book to the main door, hearing the hiss from the doors opening. You saw Bridge being manoeuvred by Syd to get him into the room. He seemed to have been putting up a fight as he and Syd bickered as she pushed him. You couldn’t help but smile. They were your closest friends here, all of you including Sky had started at the academy at the same time so you were always paired up together.Syd spotted you looking over to her and Bridge, offering a wide smile and wave.
“Hi Y/N!” she basically shouted, confusing you slightly.
Bridge stopped his protest against Syd and looked over to you, looking like a deer in headlights. You offered a small wave back. Bridge stood straight and raised his hand in greeting. He began to turn away but Syd pushed him forward, practically into the table.
“We’ve been looking for you,” Syd explained, patting Bridge on the shoulder. He gave her a side glance before putting his attention to you.
“What did I do this time?” you asked.
“Nothing, silly. We just wanted to hang out.”
“Well pull up a chair,” you offered, closing the book over and pushing it to the side as Bridge took a seat. Syd was about to join him before she clapped her hands together.
“Oh no! I forgot I was meant to meet Sky in the simulator! I’ll join you guys later. Bye!” Syd skipped off, leaving just you and Bridge.
“She’s chipper than usual,” you mentioned, looking over to Bridge and seeing the colour drain from his face as he looked to the fleeing Syd.
“You okay, Bridge?”Bridge quickly turned to you, colour quickly returning to his face, even reaching his ears.
“Yeah! Yeah, I’m okay. Well, okay enough to be sitting here with you. I’m mean not that I need to be okay to sit with you because I know you wouldn’t mind if I wasn’t okay cause you would still let me sit with you and…”
“Good,” you said with a smile. Bridge returned it.
Out of all your SPD friends, Bridge was your favourite. He was goofy but incredibly smart and kind. He was actually the first one to talk to you on your first day, spinning into one of his long questions which you couldn’t help grin at. You and Bridge had gotten closer as time went on but you noticed he would get really shy around you sometimes. You didn’t know why. It mostly happened when you and he were alone, sitting close to each other. He would ramble more than usual and he would go red.
You hoped he wasn’t getting sick of you. It didn’t help you were developing a crush on him.
“What’s the book?” Bridge asked. You glanced over to it before returning your gaze to him.
“Some book Sky recommended. It’s dull,” you admitted.
“Too bad. The cover looks awesome. Guess you can’t judge a book by its cover,” Bridge said. You shrugged.
“Never have.”
“I know. I mean I know you aren’t one to judge a book by its cover. I mean look at me. You didn’t judge me with my powers. Or Syd. Or Sky! Or…”
“Why would I judge you because you have powers?” You asked. Bridge looked down at his gloved hands.
“A lot of people don’t accept someone that can read their auras or hear thoughts,” he said, his cheerful voice being downgraded to a melancholy one. Hating to see him upset, you reach across and placed one of your hands on top of his. Bridge looked at you, his eyes shining slightly. You gave him a soft smile.
“Well, you never have to worry about me judging you for your powers. As long as you don’t judge me if you hear the odd thought of eating my body weight in ice cream from me.”
That managed to get a laugh out of Bridge. He pulled his hands from under yours and took your hand into one of his. You felt your face get warm at the gesture.
“Y/N…there is something I want to say but…I can’t seem to get it out,” Bridge told you. You raised an eyebrow. Bridge couldn’t get the words out?
“Why’s that?” Bridge shrugged.
“I dunno. Any time I think I can say it, something else comes out in its place. Like, it just replaces what I really want to say and I say something that has nothing to do with what I want to say and…”
“Bridge,” you said firmly. He stopped his rambling and looked down again.
“Sorry,” he mumbled. You sighed.
“No, don’t apologise. You’re just nervous about what you want to say. Why don’t we try going about it another way?” Bridge looked up again, sitting up straight while keeping a hold of your hand.
“What do you have in mind?” he asked.
“Well, you can’t get the words out so why don’t you tell me what the subject is? Like what is it about per say?” Bridge seemed to be in thought for a moment, seeming to think about what he was about to say.
“It’s…telling someone something. After that, I would like to…ask them something,” he managed to say. You smiled at him.
“Okay, that’s a good start! Next, who is the person you want to ask?”
Bridge began to fumble over his words again. You squeezed his hand in comfort, making him sigh before pointing to you. That caught you off guard. Why was he struggling to talk to you? Maybe your previous fear was right and Bridge was trying to tell you he didn’t want to be friends anymore…
“Me? You know you can tell me anything.”
“I know but…it’s hard to say this,” he explained. You swallowed the lump in throat, not sure if you wanted him to say it.
“Bridge, you don’t have to say it if-“
“No, I want to say it! It’s just hard for the words to come out I mean how do I say I like you without sounding…” Bridge’s face was practically radiating red as he realised what he had just said. You were just as startled.
“You like me?” you sounded it out like it was foreign to you. Bridge sighed heavily and hung his head.
“Not like but like like. Like a lot like like. Like really like. Like-“
“I get the idea Bridge,” you said, you smile getting ever so wider. You felt a blush creep up onto your cheeks; happy that it turned out Bridge liked you and feeling a bit silly you believed he didn’t. He smiled with you, his grip on your hand tightening.
“Well not exactly how I pictured telling you.”
“Since we are on a roll; what is it you wanted to ask me after telling me that?”
“Um…I know we both have a day off tomorrow. Our whole squad does! But I was wondering…only if you want to…I mean you might be…”
“Bridge.”
“Would you like to do something tomorrow? With me, I mean. We could go see a movie or go for a walk or go out to eat…we could do all those things or- “
“I’d love to.”
Bridge’s eyes widened at you answer, mouth slightly agape in shock. Your smile evolving into a grin. He was cute being all nervous and being actually shocked that you agreed to his invitation. His shock was quickly replaced with glee it seemed as he gave his own grin. You removed your hand from his, stood up and walked over to his side of the table. You took the seat beside him, turning to face him
.“So what you wanted to say was; I like you Y/N and would you like to go out with me tomorrow?” you said. Bridge nodded.
“Yeah. Kinda pathetic that I couldn’t get that out huh?” You shook your head.
“Not at all. I’m happy you managed to say it.”
“Really?”
You managed to muster up some courage and moved closer to Bridge, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. You were never aware of just how red a person could go until this point.
“Really,” you assured him.
“Uh…great! I’ve wanted to tell you for a while now but I could never find the right moment or even get it out. Syd heard me going over what to say then began dragging me here but I didn’t want to but I’m glad she did cause now you know and we will be together tomorrow…I mean not together together! Unless you want to, I mean…”
You let Bridge ramble on, just smiling at him as he went on.
You would have to thank Syd for the assistance.

Worth Your Weight In Gold - Power Rangers SPD - Z Delgado x Sister!Reader
Could I have an spd z x sister reader imagine where reader is the gold ranger and killed by her a squad counter part, and it fuels Z to fight back even harder? Could it also be dark, if that’s cool?
Warning: dark storyline, mentions of blood and torture, character death, mentions of DC comics
The return of A-Squad had left B-Squad being treated like they were back at the beginning when A-Squad were still around.
Cruger was so happy that A-Squad was back that he dismissed you all, angering your sister as you just nodded for her to go ahead.
You had eyes on each member of A-Squad as they turned on Cruger, all except your A-Squad counterpart, the A-Squad Gold Ranger.
You didn’t even realise they were behind you until they had their blaster pointed at your head.
They kept a bag over your head until they threw you in a cell.
There was only one thing you could conclude as the A-Squad Gold Ranger watched you regain consciousness from outside the cell.
You weren’t going to make it out in one piece.
///
The Red A-Squad Ranger, Charlie, was busy provoking Cruger when the two of them fell silent.
Your screams echoed throughout the halls, sending a chill down Cruger’s spine.
“Cadet Delgado!”
“Gold wanted to have a bit of fun with their pathetic B-Squad counterpart.” Charlie stated as your screams suddenly stopped.
Cruger let out a growl as he looked up at Charlie.
“You’ll pay for this.”
///
Your morpher had been smashed on the ground in front of you as Gold just smirked.
They’d demorphed so you could see their face.
They were enjoying this.
“You’re enjoying this.” You mumbled as they paused in hitting you with the crowbar.
“How could I not? I get to be my favourite comic book character.” They smirked, leaving you to freeze.
“You’ve got to be joking- argh!” You yelled as the crowbar hit you in the stomach.
“Seriously? The Emperor taught us more interesting techiques but you want to beat her like she’s Jason Todd?” Another A-Squad Ranger stated before passing Gold another weapon.
An SPD DeltaMax Striker.
“Time for target practice.” Gold smirked, leaving you to let out a grunt as your wrists were untied from the cable attached to the ceiling.
///
“Rangers, A-Squad are gone and they’ve taken Commander Cruger and Y/n with them-”
“A-Squad took my sister?” Z exclaimed, leaving Kat to nod.
“Why doesn’t she just duplicate and escape-” Syd began but Z just sighed.
“Y/n and I don’t have the same powers, whilst I have duplication, Y/n’s an empath.”
“That’s not all, A-Squad sent this live video message...” Boom stated as Kat glared, leaving Z to stare at the screen that showed you being tortured.
///
“What is it, Goldie? The pain too much? Can’t stay awake?”
“She’s an empath.” Charlie deadpanned at Gold who just smirked, realising you weren’t just feeling your own pain, but the other prisoners pain as well.
As well as Gold’s enjoyment of hurting people as they realised you’d thrown up out of disgust.
“What? I disgust you or something?”
“You’re a monster. My sister and the rest of B-Squad are going to take you all down.”
Charlie faltered at that.
“Take us down? They can try. But it sounds like little Gold has already lost hope of her sister saving her.”
“Either way, you pissed her off. You guys are so screwed.” You whispered before tasting iron in your mouth, combining with the bile from earlier.
“Ah, ah, ah, no little Gold, stay awake, you going to sleep takes all the fun out of it.” Gold taunted as you glared from your semi-awake state.
“I’m sorry Z...” You mumbled under your breath before a scream escaped your lips at the blade running down your back.
///
You were too out of it to realise that the rest of A-Squad minus Gold had left to fight B-Squad.
Or that B-Squad had been captured and were now in a cell alongside Cruger.
“You may have defeated most of A-Squad, but didn’t you notice? You’re missing a Ranger-” Gruumm was cut off by another scream before an explosion occurred.
“What-”
Gruumm smirked as he spotted you and Gold fighting after your empath powers caused a surge, letting the cell door malfunction and Gold go flying backwards.
“Y/n!” Z shouted, gaining your attention at the worse possible moment as Gold stabbed you in the torso.
“You’re nothing but Fool’s Gold.” Gold smirked as you body hit the floor.
“NO!” Z screamed as she realised you had turned your head to look at her, blood covering a lot of your face from Gold’s earlier torture techinques.
“You Rangers are not so powerful without your morphers.” Gruumm cackled, walking over to your body as you kept your eyes on Z.
“Z... I’m, I’m sorry...” Was all that escaped your lips as your final breath left you.
Tears ripped their way down Z’s face as choked sobs echoed throughout the cell.
Z was shaking as she watched the light in your eyes fade.
“You’re going to pay for murdering my sister.”
