Authorities have released an image of the simulated weapon officials say NYPD cops encountered a robbery suspect holding when they stormed a T-Mobile store in Queens this week, discharging 42 rounds in 11 seconds.

The picture released Thursday shows an item that from any distance could appear to be a real gun; it is black and about the same size with a ribbed grip. The barrel says Colt 1911 TARGET, a quick Google search for which indicates the product is available for online purchase on sites like Amazon and Walmart.

It's what NYPD Det. Brian Simonsen, 42, and his sergeant, Matthew Gorman, saw the suspect, 27-year-old Christopher Ransom, holding when they responded to a 911 call about a masked man with a gun at the phone store in Richmond Hill around dinnertime on Tuesday, officials have said. The two officers were working on an unrelated case in the area, but responded since it was nearby. 

Also responding: six uniformed NYPD officers, authorities said. NYPD service members fired a total of 42 rounds in 11 seconds at the scene. Simonsen, a married 19-year NYPD veteran, was hit once in the chest. He later died. Gorman was hit once in the leg; he remained hospitalized early Thursday but was stable.

The suspect, a 27-year-old man with an extensive criminal record, was armed with an imitation firearm, O’Neill said. He was wounded and is hospitalized in stable condition.

“Make no mistake about it, friendly fire aside, it is because of the actions of the suspect that Det. Simonsen is dead,” O’Neill said.

I think maybe its the fault of the people shooting at their co-workers that the co-worker is shot. but I'm not a cop, I don't have the advanced training in murdering people so what do I know.

In 1967 the Daily Telegraph, no less, produced a special on ‘the New Culture of Beat City.’ The prince of it all, perhaps, was a roly-poly poet and painter named Adrian Henri. With his fellow poets Roger McGough and Brian Patten he was responsible for a Penguin paperback, The Mersey Sound, which became the best-selling poetry collection of all time. And, this being Liverpool, Roger McGough found time to be in a chart-topping pop group, the Scaffold, as well. Once again Liverpool was not a provincial outpost but a creative hub which attracted progressive thinkers from far and wide. Henri would play host to the American beat poet Allen Ginsberg - who was, in his heart, something of a Beatle groupie and was moved to declare, ‘Liverpool is at the present moment the centre of the consciousness of the human universe.’ One day, the obscure performance artist Yoko Ono materialised, as Spencer Leigh recalls: ‘I am very proud of the fact that I touched Yoko Ono before John Lennon did. She came here in 1966 to the Bluecoat Chambers and had a “happening���. I had never been to a happening before, but it sounded very exciting and mysterious and avant garde so I went along. She invited members of the audience to wrap her up in bandages, so that is why I touched her before John Lennon did. I was doing her feet very delicately while Adrian Henri was doing the top half. She was covered in all these bandages and I remember John Gorman of the Scaffold shouting out, “You’re wanted on the phone!” ‘You could really see the influence she would have on John Lennon’s work. She had the black bags on stage and she invited people to come up on stage and take their clothes off inside the bag. About eight people did. It was an entertaining evening which went on for about two hours. Part of it was just watching her eat a tuna hsh sandwich. At the end of the happening she put a vase on the table and her husband Tony Cox smashed it and invited people to come up and take a piece. So I did and Yoko Ono said, “I want us all to meet in ten years’ time and piece this together.” I’ve never met her since.’

So I was rewatching some older videos of @sytokun (do check out and support the Switchback channel and the stuff SYTO makes btw) and this one got me thinking.

How would I fancast a live action RWBY?

Of course some choices in this video I really can’t think of any better choices.

I’ll get back to my personal reasonings on these but I do want to start with our main four. Also like, I am not gonna get these perfect but I’m gonna try to at least stay consistent with look, ages, and acting range.

Ruby - Camren Bicondova. Now I know that she doesn’t really act anymore but she just strikes me as Ruby. I’m kinda trying to stay in the 20s-30s range for this and idk have it be like set after canon or something so the ages don’t feel too off but that’s beside the point. She’s most well known for her role as Catwoman in Gotham, and I really think she can have that young and playful but also serious when the moment calls for it vibe.

My other choice for Ruby would be Emma Myers. Her energy in Wednesday as Enid just felt Ruby to me? Idk how to explain it. Short hair, vibrant energy, but can get down to business when the moment calls for it.

Weiss - Anya Taylor-Joy. Having been in The Menu, The Queen’s Gambit, Last Night In Soho, The New Mutants, and as Princess Peach in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, she really has a wide range in her acting. Being snarky but also somber is certainly in her range. I really thing that she also bounces off her costars really well.

Blake - Zendaya. Okay stick with me here, MJ from the Spider-Man “Home” Trilogy is Blake. That quiet and reserved but also snarky and quick witted energy. Idk it just feels like it fits so well. Also I don’t want this fan casting to be more pale than Weiss with sun lotion on so yeah.

Yang - I’m actually gonna take this one from the SYTO fancast, Leah Lewis. She fits into the age range of the other girls, she has that Yang energy of being a bit of a party girl, and most importantly, is that she’s Chinese which is already doing more than the actually show for proper Chinese rep. Lol. Lmao even.

But uh yeah, I think I’m gonna leave it at that for now.

I will come back to this and maybe tackle JNPR and actually explain the choices at the top and also maybe do Ozpin, Glynda, and Ironwood.
