âRomans 3:22-27 (NLTâŹ). [21] âWe are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of Godâs glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus. Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith.â
âThe Cross: Grace Displayedâ By In Touch Ministries:
âBecause Jesus died, we gain abundant life, unconditional love, and a relationship with our heavenly Father.â
âAt Calvary, God displayed His grace for the entire world. The cross represents the intersection of His holiness and His love.
Our holy God is without faultâso âperfectly perfectâ that no man or woman can look upon Him and live (Exodus 33:20). We, however, are sinners. We were all born with a sin nature, which left us separated from God.
Itâs important to understand that the Lord hates sin because it harms the ones He loves. Remember that God is love (1 John 4:8)âHe created us to have a relationship with Him and desires that all people spend eternity with Him (2 Peter 3:9). Yet there remains the problem of our sin.
The Lord will not violate His own nature and compromise His holiness. Prompted by His own great love, therefore, He made a way to have a relationship with us: He put the sin of all mankind on Jesus Christâs shoulders.
The Father sent His holy Son to be a perfect sacrifice on our behalf. Jesus Christ took our sin upon Himself and died on the cross in our place. When we trust Him as our Savior and receive His forgiveness, we are made newâholy, perfect, and welcome in our Fatherâs presence.â

âKnow ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.â âPsalm 100:3 (KJV)
âSeek God for Yourselfâ By Billy Graham:
âWhenever anyone asks me how I can be so certain about who and what God really is, I am reminded of the story of the little boy who was out flying a kite. It was a fine day to go kite-flying, the wind was brisk, and large billowy clouds were blowing across the sky. The kite went up and up until it was entirely hidden by the clouds. âWhat are you doing?â a man asked the little boy. âIâm flying a kite,â he replied. âFlying a kite, are you?â the man said, âHow can you be sure? You canât see your kite.â âNo,â said the little boy, âI canât see it, but every little while I feel a tug, so I know for sure that itâs there!â Donât take anyone elseâs word for God. Find Him for yourself, and then you too will know by the wonderful, warm tug on your heartstring, that He is there, for sure.
Prayer for the day: Thank You for loving me, God. This knowledge never ceases to amaze me. I praise and love You, my heavenly Father.â

But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
As we stand at the cross of Christ we see a glorious exhibition of Godâs love. Paul wrote, âWhile we were powerless to help ourselves . . . Christ died for sinful men.â In human experience, it is a rare thing for one man to give his life for another, even if the latter be a good man, though there have been a few who have had the courage to do it. Yet the proof of Godâs amazing love is this: that it was âwhile we were sinners Christ died for us.â
Prayer for the day
It is beyond comprehension the love that took You to the cross for me. Humbly I praise and thank You, my Savior and my Lord.
Billy Graham
