ever since lynn offhandedly mentioned she worked with jj abrams' parents, i go into every conversation with her in preparation to hear any number of big names in show business being dropped at every turn without hesitation or pride. it's just her reality. and now it's also mine.
WHAT THE FUCKKKKKK
some examples include: viola davis, brenden fraser, helen mirren, ken longergan, my own father somehow, ron garcia, eve brenner, judy blume, and donald petrie but i'm sure if i asked her straight up who all she knows she would list the entirety of the DGA and half of the PGA/WGA/SAG
the woman has been in the business for almost 50 years this is to be expected but somehow my brain just was NOT expecting it

MLS: Maybe it’s no longer a retirement home
MLS: Maybe it’s no longer a retirement home
NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL. These are the main sports leagues in the United States and the best in their respective disciplines worldwide and perhaps it is one of the things that make the Major League Soccer (MLS) have less prominence than these besides the fact of not being considered one of the top leagues in world football. Since its creation in 1996 as a result of the growth in the popularity of…

Superman Smashes The Klan #1 (of 3) - Gene Luen Yang and Gurihiru
The year is 1946, and the Lee family has moved from Metropolis' Chinatown to the center of the bustling city. While Dr. Lee is greeted warmly in his new position at the Metropolis Health Department, his two kids, Roberta and Tommy, are more excited about being closer to their famous hero, Superman! While Tommy adjusts to the fast pace of the city, Roberta feels out of place, as she tries and fails to fit in with the neighborhood kids. As the Lees try to adjust to their new lives, an evil is stirring in Metropolis: the Ku Klux Klan. When the Lee family awakens one night to find a burning cross on their lawn, they consider leaving town. But the Daily Planet offers a reward for information on the KKK, and their top two reporters, Lois Lane and Clark Kent, dig into the story.   When Tommy is kidnapped by the KKK, Superman leaps into action-with help from Roberta! But Superman is still new to his powers-he hasn't even worked out how to fly yet, so he has to run across town. Will Superman and Roberta reach Tommy in time?

Check out some of the many artists involved in the making of the BOGOSS BOOK:
Bogoss is French slang for "cutie" or "hottie". So anytime a hot guy is spotted in France, one can hear "wow, look at that Bogoss" in French. Thankfully, beautiful guys are everywhere on the planet, and this is what our book on male illustrations wants to show: they are in the park, on the subway, at the beach or the gym; they could even be people we know, friends we cook with, work with or simply chill out with.

Leeds United: Meslier, Koch, Cooper, Aaronson, Roca (Ayling 79), Summerville, Adams, Rodrigo (Gelhardt 89), Struijk, Kristensen (Joseph 89), Gnonto (Greenwood 45).
Subs not used: Robles, Firpo, Llorente, Perkins, Gyabi. Our last Premier League game before the World Cup was another 4-3 thriller, but this week we were the losers despite the fact that we had taken the lead three times.... Leeds started on the front foot and scored a great goal in the 10th minute when Brenden Aaronson played in Crysencio Summerville, who shrugged off a challenge from Eric Dier and fired a low shot past Hugo Lloris, becoming the youngest ever Leeds player to score in four consecutive Premier League games. There were chances at both ends before Tottenham equalised in controversial fashion. Illan Meslier managed to punch away a corner, after which two Spurs players knocked him into the back of his own net. The ball fell kindly for Harry Kane, who hit the target from the edge of the box. It was an absolutely blatant foul on Meslier but despite protests from the Leeds players, the goal was allowed to stand. Spurs then began to dominate, but we weathered the storm and scored our second goal just before half time, courtesy of a volley from Rodrigo (who is finally looking like the player we thought we'd signed).... However, not surprisingly, our lead didn't last long. A few minutes into the second half Tottenham equalised again when a quickly taken throw-in allowed Dejan Kulusevski to burst into the box while the Leeds defence were asleep. He found Kane 12 yards out and although his goalbound effort was hooked away by Rasmus Kristensen, the ball went straight to Ben Davies who beat Meslier from 20 yards out. Spurs stepped up a gear and really went for the winner, but a great counter attack in the 76th minute led to another goal from Rodrigo - a powerful low drive into the bottom corner from the edge of the box. Jesse Marsch immediately replaced Marc Roca with Luke Ayling and we switched to five at the back. But then it all went wrong again.... Tottenham's third equaliser was slightly fortunate in that a cross which was headed out by Liam Cooper fell to Rodrigo Bentancur, and his volley deflected off Ayling past Meslier. Two minutes later, Tottenham were awarded a throw-in which should have gone to Leeds because the ball clearly came off the leg of a Spurs player, and Kulusevski again was the provider from the byline for Bentancur to roll the ball home. Just before the end, Tyler Adams was sent off after earning his second yellow card.... Very frustrating, but unless the club's owners are prepared to spend some serious money to strengthen our defence and they either replace Jesse Marsch or he changes his tactics, we're always going to be likely to concede more goals than we score. We looked decent going forward against one of the most expensive squads in the league, but leaving aside individual mistakes (and bad decisions from the match officials), most of Tottenham's attacks began with us losing possession high up the pitch - and then with one ball over the top they were in on goal - and this keeps happening week after week. Leeds now have 15 points from 14 games and are in 15th place - exactly the same as last season. The problem this time around is that the newly promoted teams are much better - Fulham and Bournemouth are above us in the table and Forest are only two points behind. We'll need more than 38 points to stay up this season....

RB Salzburg vs. Bayern Munich result, highlights from UEFA Champions League Round of 16
It was not quite the bounceback Bayern Munich had hoped for as a very late Kingsley Coman equalizer spared them a shock against RB Salzburg at the Red Bull Arena in the Champions League.
Bayern fell 4-2 away to VfL Bochum on Saturday in a rare Bundesliga defeat — and manager Julian Nagelsmann was still without Manuel Neuer, Leon Goretzka, Alphonso Davies and teenager Jamal Musiala through a variety of injuries and illnesses.
The German champions' record in Europe was impeccable up to this point — six wins from six during the group stages, beating Benfica, Barcelona and Dynamo Kyiv home and away.
But they were given a scare by a lively Salzburg side, with substitute Chukwubuike Adamu putting the hosts ahead after 21 minutes after some great link-up play from Karim Adeyemi and Brenden Aaronson.
It took Bayern the rest of the match to get back on terms, with Coman scrambling the ball home past the excellent Philipp Kohn in the last minute of normal time.
