Clemont is just really funny in general i think. he's just like that, realistically theres so much to unpack about him;

he made an entire invention where he spoke to the mayor and was spread out across the town of the uni he was in which he got in at the age of maybe like 8.

he's a gym leader. he lost his gym to his invention,

there was the slightest chance he could've been mind controlled.

he can't run

his entire mental state is the way it is because of a single mistake that wasn't even his fault

There's so much to unpack about him and the creators were like; "yeah anyways!"

okay but seriously, i think we as a fandom neglect the fact that if it wasn't for Clemont's anxious(???) paranoid(???) quick thinking(???) overly prepared(???) he probably he would've gotten mind controlled. like what was up with that.

Clemont is his own bag of holding lol, there really is SO MUCH with him and I'm shaking you on the shoulders rn clem nonnie. Please. How is it possible that there is so much to him as it is. I need to study him under a microscope.

With the first point, that always made me laugh in a way lol. Him at the age of possibly eight created a power source slash Electric Pokemon recharger for a whole town/city. The mayor has noticed his efforts. This is before he is a Gym Leader, and this is the place where he made the promise to Shinx (a promise that he broke, not by any fault of his own, but by the very thing that brought them together in the first place).

The way he actually just straight up lived in Prism Tower, or at least that's how it felt, along with Bonnie. Their father is in the same city with a house but they won't bother with that and he doesn't bother them until they are MIA for at the very least a few weeks if not months. His reasoning for being a Gym Leader is to wield Electric Types from every region and become an Electric-Type Trainer that the world has never seen. The fact that he can be this ambitious with battling gets me (and also his learning from school carrying over c':)

His bag is also a mechanical marvel (not Volcanion, sorry). His Aipom Arm has only malfunctioned once (1 time), and he's easily able to lift Bonnie into the air with it. Also we never see this beyond the first ep but it has an inflatable airbag??? That is actually safe and comfortable to land on even with the everything in his bag as it is.

Even after the whole series and after everything they've ever went through, he still cannot run. Only one time he has ever sprinted ahead (in this realm/dimension) and that was to get to a festival about Zapdos of all Pokemon (and maybe that inventing fair as well??). No one comments on it beyond that one moment. He's also tried to make shoes to help him go up hills quicker but he never tried that one again lol (he forgot he even had it until Serena mentions the monorail, in which also, wow. this gang i swear).

That's actually one of the saddest parts (and something I can totally relate with). The way that we see him so happy and open with Shinx beforehand, ready to learn and be hands on and playing outside even with all the work that he had. And then we hear about how he lost his Gym, how his Pokemon disregard his words and his invention doesn't see him as worthy or strong enough, and it really is him just living out a nightmare of his own making in a way. His fear from back then keeps haunting him with the mistakes that he makes now, and even after meeting with Luxio again you can see the way he just... accepts that he's no longer wanted or forgiven. He's fine with it. He rather everyone have a better life than he does. Just,, he needs a hug. Lots of them.

HELP PLS you've said exactly what I've been thinking off this whole time!! Geez, I thought I was alone in thinking that we brush off whatever happened to Clemont in 'The Needs of Many!' like I get that we lose Greninja, but hello? He got straight-up kidnapped right in front of our eyes! He was going to be made into a superhuman (which has some very very worrying connotations beyond what is already happening). He too was blasted by the Mega Evo Energy, and even if he did resist the mind control, there's got to be other effects as well. If his friends weren't OP and reckless as they were he would've actually been carted away to who knows where and it would've been a matter of time until his preventive measures were found out. And the way he already had a counter against it, against the beam specifically (and for it to be able to work without any issues) is also so sad and worrying in a way?? It's definitely paranoia to me, it was very specific (more than usual, anyways), small enough to hide and easy enough for him to grab. Poor boy :(( I need to just sit down and think every time I remember this is an ep that exists because they just went ham with it, didn't they??

SIMS 4 OC BUILDS: Hokage Retreat

As of right now, the last house of my current sims builds is the home of the Seventh Hokage himself! Mumma Chika and their triplets: Nori, Kyo and Hiro, all live in this modern home, located on the outskirts of the hidden leaf village for a bit of well deserved privacy. Although both incredibly busy, Chika and Kakashi enjoy spending majority of their time in their home - entertaining their rambunctious children!

What follows is simply a bunch of my nonsensical responses to the first 2 episodes in no particular order; I really cannot explain that any other way I’m afraid

Sally saying not everyone who looks like a hero is a hero and not everyone who looks like a monster is a monster - THE FORESHADOWING??? THE REFERENCE TO BOOKS THAT ARENT EVEN BEING ADAPTED YET IM LOSING MY MIND - Also, the justice for Medusa in this was absolutely gorgeous and so well done because it didn’t black and white anyone as just a hero or just a villain but very well highlighted the woven and layered morality of a very complex web of stories, personally I’m mostly a Medusa defender but give me a good quality, well written Perseus retelling and you could probably convince me otherwise I think the point of many of these stories is that there is never a true victor and nothing is ever as easy to understand as a hero and a monster. I’m getting distracted now but hey let’s keep going, I really love Stone Blind by Natalie Haynes, which very strongly labels Perseus as the monster and Medusa as the victim, but I also think there is an argument that Danaë’s plight was diminished/overlooked in it and I would be open to hearing opposing views on that. Since I’m in this tangent I should add I don’t study classics I am just a fan, so I’m not the expert and would generally expect others to know more than me so get it out there I’m eager to learn. Anyway, Percy Jackson (sorry for the tangent)

They softened Gabe up quite a bit, or at least I thought they did maybe you guys think otherwise, but I wonder how his death will come across in this case(????)

I actually really like that they had Annabeth clock who Percy’s father was and push him into the water instead of it being Clarisse shoving him into the creek and stumbling upon it by accident, because it really heightened that idea of her being six steps ahead

I think the conflict between Grover and Percy was interesting and I’m intrigued as to how easily it’s resolved with the quest coming up, and on that point am I right that Sally making Grover swear to protect Percy was a new addition? Because I’m guessing that if the conflict between them is still heightened then that’s going to be the logical reason Grover uses to get into the quest, but also they made a big deal out of that and I kept expecting her to request he swear it on the Styx but she didn’t, I wonder if it was meant to be implied (?) or maybe I’m just reading into it

There was less Annabeth screen time than I was expecting but every second she was on screen was PERFECTION

I was kind of surprised they didn’t confirm Percy’s dyslexia and ADHD in the first episode and instead had Luke mention it because I always thought that Percy had already been diagnosed long beforw he call to camp but maybe I misremembered that (?)

I’m guessing that mechanical monster Percy saw out the window was reference to the bulls in book three sorry I can’t remember what they’re called, and with that the doodles in his notebook YES!!! I noticed a cyclops, Medusa, the minatour, and what I think might have been the hydra but I haven’t rewatched yet so stay tuned for possible correction on that lol

I love camp so much! The cabins are incredible and the interior of the Hermes is so much nicer than I imagined whilst still maintaining a kind of overcrowded atmosphere, I love it.

I can’t get the idea of hard rock trolls being immune to lava out of my head. Trollstopia seems to debunk this idea while in World Tour there’s a background gag where a hard rock trolls dives in(or falls?) and is completely okay, but the movies are more canon to me so I’m ignoring the show. Anyway, the mental image of Barb inviting Poppy for like a cultural exchange tour to strengthen the pop and rock tribes’ relationship and Barb diving into a pool of lava thinking Poppy can come in too is making me lose it. Her intentions are so pure and here Poppy is mentally screaming because this shit is so unhinged, LIKE IT WAS TOTALLY WITHOUT WARNING, SHE DOESN’T MEAN TO JUDGE OR ANYTHING SHES HERE WITH AN OPEN MIND AND IS READY TO LEARN BUT HOLY SHIT ALL ROCK TROLLS CAN DO THIS WTH WHAT IS THEIR DEAL THIS IS SO COOL YET SO TERRIFYING, and then Barb climbs out and shakes her entire body of excess lava like a dog after a bath 😂

Mimic hunting? Please tell us more about this horrible sport, and the Hunters Guild?

It didn't start out as a sport.

The Hunter's Guild Association was a committee of skilled hunters who set up what was essentially an autonomous hunting club that both helped look after natural spaces, but also enforced anti-poaching laws and cracked down on illegal hunting parties.

They did, however, also infamously take on a rather dark mantle...

Back in the day, before the invention of the steam locomotive or other such heavy machinery, a mimic's trickster nature used to be much more malicious than it is in the modern age.

According to legend, they used to take on forms familiar to people as being safe or of great use to them (such as cats, dogs, horses, cows, etc...) specifically to trick people into allowing them into their inner circles. Then, when they'd gain the trust of these humans, they would lead them into the woods and get them lost on purpose. Then much more powerful fae entities than themselves, would come in to claim the humans for whatever nefarious reason that prompted them to orchestrate this whole scheme to begin with...

As you may imagine, humanity was not fond of being deceived by a subspecies of fae that was, in essence, the lapdogs of higher fae beings. Many a skilled hunters banded together to begin hunting down mimics, as they were much more easy to track down and kill than their more illusive masters, and it felt like vengeance enough to cull them en masse as both threat and promise.

Overtime these tales of where mimic cullings came from were disregarded as fictionalized folkloric nonsense just to excuse the barbaric killing of animals that were being animals (as the Zoologists continued to proclaim mimics are not fae but animals), and it was agreed that while feral mimics are a danger to humans that need to be disposed of (which is where the Hunter's Guild Association's 'Mimic Control Branch' came from), most mimics are generally harmless creatures that will do no harm to people if left alone.

Unfortunately, as often seen with anything started with good intentions, the HGAMCB has become a gathering of like-minded professional hunters who are in it for the thrill and glory of the hunt, rather than helping with the preservation of forest spaces and wildlife.

They've essentially turned hunting feral mimics into a government sanctioned bloodsport. And the highest members of this particular group have even started enabling and covering up the hunting of wild true form mimics for the acquisition of personal trophies.

They also facilitate those who practice the Fox Hunt method of "taming" a mimic, which is a surprise to no one really, as the people who practice this often tip off the HGAMCB to entire nests of mimics.
