THE OCS

My main OC on here is Casey, this is his tag

He first shows up in chapter six of my fic Can't Live Like This as one of Zoro's love interests. The fic is Zoro-centric, meaning it centers around Zoro and his emotional journey. Zoro is in a situationship with Sanji until he isn't anymore, and then things get worse with Sanji (while things go well with Casey) until it culminates in a fight that is foreshadowed in chapter one.

Casey is set to reappear in the sequel, Rebuild.

An excerpt from chapter seven:

Zoro followed Casey out of the thick forest onto the beach of the cove. His gaze rested on Casey's back as he walked down the soft incline of the beach to a set of boulders, where he came to a stop. Flashing Zoro a cheeky grin over his shoulder, Casey stripped himself of his clothing until nothing remained, dropping his clothing onto one of the rocks. Smiling at Zoro in that amused way of his, Casey turned to face Zoro, waiting to see what he would do. Holy shit. Zoro thought to himself, taking Casey in. Eager to meet his challenge, Zoro began removing his clothes as he walked up to the set of rocks next to Casey. He wadded up his clothes and then dumped them on the adjacent rock. He stared down into Casey's eyes, those twin suns of his set over a bed of dozens and dozens of freckles. Or stars, Zoro thought. Twin suns and a bed of stars. "Got somethin' on my face?" Casey asked. "Freckles," Zoro said dumbly. Casey smirked. "Very observant of you." "It's just that—" They're nice. "You've—you've got a lot of them." Casey's smile softened. "Got 'em from one of my dads."

Both Braden and Juno have shown up in Can't Live Like This, but not as much as Casey. I'm hoping to showcase them some more in Rebuild.

Mason has only been named in Can't Live Like This. He's set to show up in Rebuild.

Arden and Castor, Casey's dads, have shown up in Can't Live Like This.

Casey's siblings both have spouses.

Juno is married to Dev, named and modeled after Dev Patel.

Braden is married to a woman named Candy. No art of her.

Casey's siblings both have children with their spouses. Casey is single at the time of meeting Zoro.

Casey's lived a good life, but even he has bad experience with the World Government. All I'll say is he had a mentor once, named Esperanza, you can read about her in chapter thirteen of Can't Live Like This.

Eventually Casey, Zoro, and Sanji will end up together. For now, though, there must be hardships, such as: difficult conversations (gasp!), introspection (eeek!), vulnerability (the horror!), and several more fuck ups. And a little bit of tears (of the heart, not so much physical tears).

Well, if you've made it this far, I'm glad! I would also be glad if more people were to positively engage with my fics. I hope that putting this all in one place makes it easier. My OCs and the story I'm crafting for them mean a lot to me, and it means so much to me when people are curious about them and willing to engage with them.

Hi, anon. Thank you for playing, I didn't think anyone would send anything in, so thanks for taking the time.

If you want to get to know my OCs, I have a catch all OC tag with all of my OCs called #my oc. You can also click on the OCs' individual tags to learn more. There's some info I've shared before I can get to it in my fic, Rebuild; art I have c0mmed; and other info that might not necessarily make it into a fic bc it's not vital.

My main OC is Casey. He and his family show up in my completed fic Can't Live Like This, though we do get to spend more time with Casey since he's one of Zoro's love interests in the fic. (Not the main love interest, like some anonymous person complained, but a love interest, for Zoro has two lmfao.) Casey is set to show back up in Can't Live Like This's sequel, Rebuild. I'm hoping to reintroduce him in about two chapters, but things happen.

I saw an old friend the other day. Somehow life brought us to the same city. We went for lunch. Mostly I remember him picking on my music preferences, the lyrics I would post on Facebook as a preteen. I hadn’t seen him in years. Yet he had my uncles name tattooed on his arm. He asked how each of my family members were doing by name. He reminisced on our shared stories that I’d forgotten. It felt nice to see someone who knew all of my struggles as a child, who witnessed it and endured it himself, witness me now. I’m glad he’s doing well.

I'm not on top of the game with your OCs, sorry if you already wrote about this, but how did Casey and Mason meet? Does Mason know/ like/ tolerate Casey's siblings?

And thank you for asking about my OCs! It makes me happy to know more than three other people (that aren't me) might want to know about them lol.

In canon verses, Casey and Mason met when Casey's family moved. They moved after Casey's elderly friend/mentor figure Esperanza was arrested for her past life as a pirate, and ended up on Mason's island just outside of the New World. Casey and Mason bonded over being the same age and being new to the island. (Mason was adopted by his grandmother because of a bad family life, and moved with her to her island.)

Mason is well acquainted with Casey's siblings, Braden and Juno. The boys were inseparable once they became friends, and Mason and his grandmother are treated like family. He's closest with Casey for obvious reasons, but he really cares for Juno and Braden.

I like to write about my OCs. I think about them often, but don't say as much on here because I don't think most of my followers want to know much about them since they followed me for One Piece content. Sometimes I feel like I'm on thin ice when talking about Casey in relation to his love interests, Zoro and Sanji. 😅

I definitely feel a little freer to talk about them in my fics Can't Live Like This and Rebuild, within reason, because at least in those fics you know you're going to get some OC content.
