my favourite thing about macdennis is their weird domestic habits like wdym they rented all their furniture for more than two decades instead of buying them. they rented the predator movie each time too even though it's their favourite movie that they've watched 30 times in the last two months. mac peels dennis' apples for him and dennis isn't allowed to eat apples with them. they have monthly dinners that they look forward to where they dress nicely and go to fancy restaurants. MONTHLY. mac only knows how to cook boxed mac and cheese and dennis screams at him for this but doesn't consider taking up cooking himself ofc. they make a room in their suburbs house a trash room and paste fresherners all over the room bc they don't know how to just take out the trash like normal people. they need two rooms and two bathrooms at minimum as a home, and bc they can't find that, they'd rather sleep with dee and an old man in one bed in a house with only one bathroom. the fact that basically nothing in their house before the fire belonged to mac, and dennis supposedly hates living with mac and yet still does even though they're pushing 50. they seem to share their finance, and dennis tells mac to stop buying the rock drinks using it. dennis lets mac massage his pecs and dye his hair. they do all this and yet dennis acts like mac is insane for acting like they're a couple.

Florrickology, Part 4.5: "Lady Mizora" really could have fucked

I made this point in Florrickology Part 4, laying out the various simple ways that Larian could have contextualized Florrick confronting Wyll in Act 3 in a way that was a) not stupid and shitty and b) faithful to her characterization, but I've been thinking more about it and holy fuck does it suck that they didn't just capitalize on "Lady Mizora."

Because Ulder threw Wyll away for cavorting a devil, right?

That's unacceptable; there's never an excuse for something so selfish, reckless, and just plain stupid. His son may have been his pride and joy up to that moment, but how could he possibly forgive Wyll? How could he possibly trust him again?

But what if Florrick, his trusted advisor, closest confidant, greatest champion, fondest friend, the person who supported him more than his own family, did almost the same exact thing?

He could blame Wyll. His son should have known better. He raised Wyll better than that.

But... how could he possibly blame Florrick? He knows she's not selfish, reckless, or stupid. He couldn't not forgive Florrick. He couldn't not trust her again.

And... he doesn't look at Florrick and see himself. His hopes and dreams. His triumphs and failures. His beloved wife. He doesn't see a little boy who got misty-eyed over mermaids and loved to go fishing outside of Wyrm's Rock. There are none of those big, gooey feelings that hard-ass leader dad duke guys aren't the best at synthesizing and expressing.

In Florrick, he sees a friend and equal. A paragon of the best of the city. A public servant of the finest mettle.

She was a victim, no doubt about it. Anyone can be a victim, he knows that, no matter how powerful or intelligent or virtuous they are.

But, isn't that unfair? Why is Wyll culpable but Florrick innocent? He'd have to reconcile that. He'd have to look inside himself and understand the real reasons he cast will out, and with that understanding, seek Wyll's forgiveness.

Tumblr beloveds, I have some exciting news! I won’t even lie—I literally was like, “I can’t wait to tell my friends inside Tumblr about this!”

I’m getting a promotion at work.

Like, a big, big promotion. With a big raise.

Technically, it’s “interim” and is still open for applicants, because it’s the kind of job that has to be approved by the board of directors.

But our board of directors likes me.

The word “chief” is going to be a part of my title. I’m gonna be able to make an executive decision—as an executive.

(And if they find someone better for the permanent position, I’ll still get the fat raise for the time being, and I’ll go back to my current job, which I love.)

I am freaking out.

Sometimes when I remember a funny Tumblr post from years ago but don't know how to find it again I Google tumblr + key words from the post (it works like 40% of the time). ANYWAYS today I was thinking of the funny one where someone's like "hahaha oh you're soooo funny *lets one strap of my tank top fall off my shoulder playfully*" and then someone else is like "yeah? We ain't THAT funny" *picks it up and puts it back with one of those claws for picking up trash*... so I Googled "tumblr post picks it up with a claw". Did not find the post, but DID get jumpscared by my own blog showing up in the first couple pages of results (but for something totally unrelated??? IDK I'm scared)
