I like paralleling the okonomiyaki trio to animals like:

Wolf / Dog / Cat

Laios / Kabru / Toshiro

Which is somewhat popular as far as I can tell and does seem to make sense, thinking of popular archetypes for each animal And contrasting it with how each guy presents himself in most social contexts

Aka a wolf is social but not domestic and still a predator (will try to sate it's hunger, which links to desire); dogs are social gregarious animals, will protect the flock (Kabru wanting to protect. Well so many things); Cats being social but not too social, observing, you can't come onto them too strong.

But I've also been thinking, it could also work like this:

Laios / Kabru / Toshiro

Wolf / Lamb / Dog

Where Toshiro's an hyper-domesticated dog that WILL stay put at an owner's feet and usually won't act unless commanded (passive/obedient), but also has a gregarious streak that compels him to look after the flock (see how ride-or-die he becomes with Laios after their little spat, the way he chases after Falin like Hachiko or Bobbie the wonder dog. Not perfect comparisons I'm just illustrating something) at times at the expense of himself.

And Kabru is just, sacrificial lamb coded. And this IS a choice on his part, just as the sacrificial lamb trope often implies that the only thing that sets one lamb apart from others is the willingness to be sacrificed. Gregarious animal, seemingly inoffensive (did u know that hand-reared ram lambs may seem more docile and friendlier, but can also be the most dangerous since they have no fear of the shepherd) but still no predator.

Kabru being a lamb also parallels Mythrun and his goat coding, where his sacrificial streak is a lot more destructive and chaotic.

Anyway I like both, I was just 🤔 pondering the second one.
