Julie-Su's Only Official Video Game Appearance: Sonic Mega Collection Plus
Twenty Years ago Sega did something unexpected. They openly acknowledged the existence of the (Then current) Sonic the Hedgehog Comic Book Series in one of their video games.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was in a collection of past Genesis and Game Gear Sonic titles called Sonic Mega Collection Plus. Released for the PlayStation 2 and original Xbox system in 2004.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The comic images can be seen from the menu screen and in the extras section which has covers from the entire Knuckles comic along with the Sonic specials and regular series. It ends at Sonic Issue 139 which was the latest Sonic Issue at the time the game was released.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fun Fact half of the cover of the Sonic/Image crossover had to be blacked out due to copyright issues.

The Xbox version can also be played on a backwards compatible Xbox 360.

reading this old sonic children’s book i got off mercari and. the whole plot so far is that the freedom fighters are going to rescue bunnie who’s been captured by robotnik. which is simple enough
until tails wants to go with and ofc he’s given the “you’re too young” speech by sonic. obviously if you know satam you know this is pretty much the standard in most episodes.
but the funny part in this book is that FUCKING MUTTSKI GETS TO GO ALONG. AND NOT TAILS?!?! LIKE HE CAN’T EVEN TALK. THIS IS SOME BS. HE COULD’VE STAYED BACK WITH TAILS AND UNCLE CHUCK AND BEEN SAFE BUT NOOOO. BRO THINK HE ON THE TEAM 😐

Chapter 8 and 9 of Book 1: Beautiful Ghosts is up now!
Ch. 9 Summary: Katara and the Gaang meet Jet and the Freedom Fighters. Katara falls hard for the sward-wielding vigilante
Note: Ch. 8 is simply a filler chapter with a scene that includes “self-pleasure” content. If you are uncomfortable with that, you are free to skip it.
Here’s an excerpt of Ch. 9:
Later that night, Katara and Aang accepts an offer to join Jet and the Freedom Fighters for dinner, much to Sokka’s chagrin. Thankfully, who was he to turn down free food, especially when that food was of the meat variety. Jet sat at the end of the table, with Katara sitting right his side as he further charms her with compliments and flirty remarks. As soon as all the Freedom Fighters arrived, Jet stood up to make an announcement. “Today, we struck another blow against the Fire Nation swine,” he starts his big speech. Almost everyone immediately begins cheering, while Sokka continues to cops an attitude with a scowl. Jet continues his speech, “The Freedom Fighters, once again, showed these pigs that we aren’t ones to mess with. I got a special joy from the look on one soldier's face, when The Duke, this being his very first strike mission, dropped down on his helmet and rode him like a wild hog monkey. We all worked together and successfully had another group of Fire Nation soldiers running for the hills!” Another loud cheer erupts from the crowd before Jet puts one hand up for a moment, signaling that he wasn’t done. “However, it would be wrong not to acknowledge the help we got in today’s strike by our very special guests. Katara, Sokka, and Aang. Seeing those soldiers squeal like the pigs they are as Katara water whipped them and sent them flying out of there like a couple of meerkat-chickens, it was simply remarkable. Thank you to all you guys for your part in kicking those guys’ butts”. Katara could feel herself getting giddy as he acknowledged her and her actions in his speech. It was almost unheard of for her to hear this type of public praise for her bending. Jet then picks up his wooden wine cup and holds it up high, with the other freedom fighters quickly following suit with their own drinks. “So, cheers to us, to today’s strike, to Aang, to Sokka, and, of course, to Katara. The Fire Nation thinks they don't have to worry about a group of kids hiding in the trees. Well, let me tell you. Those guys will soon wish they didn’t underestimate us. Here, Here!,” he concludes. “Here, Here!” The crowd cheers as Jet sits back down in his seat. Once the cheers die down, everyone begins to dig in to their feast.
“Jet, that was a great speech. Thank you,” Katara says, smiling bashfully. “No problem. I meant what I said, by the way. I was really impressed with you and Aang. That was some great bending I saw out there today,” he replies. The waterbender blushes, “Thanks. I can use a bit more training. But…thanks”. The Freedom Fighter smiles at her, causing her heart to beat faster than before.
“Well, this was nice…,” Sokka cuts in, his mouth full of the chicken drumstick he was having. He swallows the food with a big gulp before saying, “…but, unfortunately, we have to leave tonight”. “What? Now?” Katara exclaims as her brother starts to get up out his seat to leave. “Yes, now. We need to get to the North Pole sooner or later and we can’t do that if we don’t get moving. So, c’mon. It’s dark and we got a lot of walking to do,” he tries to pull her up, but she snatches her arm back before he could. “No way, Sokka. We just got here,” Aang argues. Jet adds in, “Y’know, you three are welcome to crash here for a few nights if you want”. Before Sokka could refuse again, Katara and Aang both agree to stay. Sokka, still unconvinced but otherwise outnumbered, just grumbled “fine”, much to the waterbender’s glee.

Banning books limits our intellectual freedom and stifles our growth as individuals. In this blog post, we explore the harmful effects of book banning, from the slippery slope of censorship to the impact on education and the creative freedom of authors an
Hello there, fellow book lovers! Today, I want to talk about a topic near and dear to our hearts: intellectual freedom. As readers, we know how powerful books can be in shaping our ideas and understanding of the world. They expose us to new perspectives, challenge our assumptions, and help us grow as individuals. But what happens when some people decide that certain books are too dangerous or…

The In-Depth Look at Julie-Su Part 8: Knuckles 30, 31 & Sonic Super Special #11 & 12
Sonic Super Special #12 features a story that was meant to be introduction to both the Sonic & Knuckles series. It was originally printed in a free newsletter called Comic Shop News. It takes place after Knuckles #28 so chronically it's before SSS#11.
The story is pretty much filler and features Sonic & Knuckles swapping bodies due to some technobabble type thing. Here's a scene with Julie-Su along with (Sort of) Sonic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next Julie features in the first part of Espio's backup story from (Knuckles Issue 30) where she helps with the chameleon version of Uncle Chuck.
Tumblr media
Ray is now a official member of Chaotix. It's weird though that they replaced Charmy with another Sonic character who is small and can also fly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And now here's Julie-Su last appearance in the Knuckles series. She's literally a prop to motive Knuckles to go along with not Kraven the Hunter's plan.
Tumblr media
A much better idea would have been Julie (along with the rest of the Chaotix) joining Knuckles in battle against the Hunter guy. We could of had a Island of Dr. Moreau type of scenario instead of Knuckles working with a totally forgettable giant purple gorilla in this final arc for the series.
On the upside after this she gets her own solo back up in Sonic Super Special #11.
Tumblr media
Before I get to it though I just want to share my favorite Bunnie & Antoine moment of all time that is also from SSS#11.
Tumblr media
So in Julie-Su's story (written by Ken) she gets the same treatment as Knuckles. She gets to stand around while a new echidna character expositions a ton of back story to her.
I really enjoyed the beginning with Julie on her own exploring a abandoned Dark Legion site. Through this we get to see more of how they operate.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here we get a big plot hole concerning Julie-Su's parentage for in Knuckles Issue #7 Julie-Su made it sound like that not only did she know who her parents were but that she wanted to visited them.
Tumblr media
The old cyborg echidna Dark Legionnarie goes on to tell her that after her dad's first wife died he (remarried?) her mom making her a half sister to both Lien-Da and Kragok.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Poor little Julie-Su looks so heartbroken.
Tumblr media
A cyborg child soldier getting her mind wiped? That's a real Metal Gear Solid backstory right there.
Next up the Sonic Adventure Era back up stories began but before that I plan on making a post on Julie-Su's first and only appearance in a official Sonic the Hedgehog video game.
