As you dance against Kelly, absolutely having the time of your life, you spot a guy staring at you from across the dance floor.

I’m gonna go get another drink”, you smile before making your way over to the bar.

“Can I please get a sex on the beach”,you beam, your cheeks flushed from the liquor already settling in. The guy from earlier quickly appears beside you.

“You have no right to feel any type of way about ANY of the choices I make.”,you explode. He takes a step back almost shocked at what’s coming out your mouth. “Yea that’s right. Be shook nigga”,You roll your eyes.

“First off I waited all night for you like some fuckin idiot. Just for you not to show up. Someone takes interest in me, someone wants to fuck me, and now you got a problem with it? It’s not like you were gon be the one doing it”, you spout. He narrows his eyes at you while listening to you rant.

You’re cut off by Armando grabbing your face and kissing you passionately. The taste of his soft lips, sweet and supple, shocks you, you’d only dreamt of this moment never expecting it to actually come true.

I'm on a Ninjago ranting spree lately and really hot take but Koko isn't really too much better of a mother than Misako was and I'm tired of pretending she was

(not proofread btw, I wrote this in the middle of the night so there may be some grammatical mistakes)

So many people hate on Misako for abandoning Lloyd at darkleys and like yeah deserved. Koko is NOT that much better of a mother and I had a whole rant about this with my friend a few weeks ago.

So first of all let's start with the beginning of the movie, Lloyd wants to skip school, stay at home, not feel miserable on his birthday. And Koko tells him those are the best years of his life etc. and knowing Lloyds character he probably does keep it a secret of just how badly he's being treated but as Garmadon said "Look who's the absentee parent now" Koko had to have known to some extent Lloyd wasn't being treated well, she told him he just has to let people see the real him, when he comes home late and Koko is calling someone they ask her if he's turned evil and joined his father etc. Garmadon said she wantsd a normal life for Lloyd. Yet she also kept the last name Garmadon for Lloyd. She told garmadon she always told Lloyd he shouldn't be ashamed of who his father is, when his father was basically a terrorist, "boo Lloyd" became a top hit, people played in on the radio, Koko HAD to have heard it at least once. The real question is if she wanted a normal life for Lloyd why not give him her maiden name instead of Garmadon's name, she could've told Lloyd who his father is when he was old enough to understand, it could've been Lloyd's choice if people knew or not. Yet she basically stuck a label on Lloyd that would follow him his entire life they Lloyd was related to the guy that attacks the city multiple times a week.

Yes, Koko is super sweet and caring towards Lloyd, yes she cares for him, but that doesn't make her an amazing mother compared to Misako. There was so much Koko could've done in my opinion that would've spared Lloyd from being treated so terribly by pretty much everyone in Ninjago, again, given Lloyd her maiden name, heck she could've just let Lloyd stay home from school on his birthday, I don't think that was an unreasonable request from Lloyd. Also maybe not pushed him to see Garmadon in a good light, When the whole city hates Lloyd just because of Garmadon. I know it's a movie plot point but if Koko really didn't want Lloyd being ashamed of who his father is she could've told him the story of how she and Garmadon met. I think that would've given Lloyd some extra much needed closure instead of my father couldn't care less. In my opinion Koko more of put on something similar to rose colored glasses, she was super oblivious to just how much Lloyd was struggling until it was too late.

And I know misako isn't perfect again, but Misako also has her moments, she's more transparent with Lloyd the dynamic is also different in the show rather than the movie so I think after the first time Misako knows Lloyd is 1. Not a little kid anymore and 2. Has people (the ninja and Wu) that'll be there for him since the ninja are shown to have way stronger of a family bond in the show rather than them just being close friends in the movie.

The Story of Pearl Girl (ep. 16)

Okay, we have seriously entered the fluff zone here. So much so that I'm already bracing myself for what's going to come next XD Never ever believe a sweet romantic candy relationship period in a cdrama - as a rule, it will come and bite your bums hard later in the series.

But for now, I just can't with these two :3 I know that the transition from boss/subordinate to a romantic fling might be too fast, but I'm letting it slide just because they're sooooo sweet together. It's like drinking a marshmallow cocoa on a chilly autumn day, guys.

Yan Zijing is all smiley and lovey-dovey, Duan Wu can't look anywhere but at him. This is exactly what happens when you fall hard for someone (well, when it's mutual). I've watched the scene at the market a few times - it's just oozing cuteness.

Well, they have been through a lot together. Seeing your future hubby the man you really like all poisoned and chained inside a mine can do things to a girl. And she seems to be straightforward in everything she does, so Duan Wu told YZJ she'd be protecting him from now on XD Made him promise not to risk his life anymore. Actually, I love this girl-protecting-her-boo trope. Especially when it's Liu Yuning we're talking about, with his height and gorgeous looks XD

God bless Yan Zijin's makeup)) Magnetic eye-stare, while Duan Wu is realizing she doesn't want to see this man get hurt, not on her watch.

She goes for the hug. At this point, they both realize the feeling is mutual. It does feel natural tbh.

And then there's Kang Ju XD The embodiment of the whole fandom, just standing there and staring at them because he 'accidentally' entered the room (the door was open, ya know?)

After this, things went bonkers and now the whole team knows they're kinda sorta into each other and the two pf them even had a coming out as couple (yes, just like that). Makes me wonder about the 17 ep, and I'm gonna watch it now, so fearless I am XD

But to tell you the truth, it would be refreshing just to watch them grow closer and become a power couple in the second half of the show. Maybe have kids and grow old together. Is it just me wanting a full-on happy relationship show? XD I guess so, ah)))

So I know there's identity reveal fics about Lloyd. And the others being hesitant but ultimately accepting him.

But wouldn't it be fucked up if, prior to the reveal, the ninja hated Lloyd.

Maybe they don't outright bully him, but they're antagonistic. Like, they mock him or they glare at him. Maybe they like singing that Boo Lloyd song Chen made. Nothing too cruel, but just enough that Lloyd knows without a doubt that they hate him.

Maybe he knows their identities and is so terrified of losing the only other people from Wu and his mom that seem to actually care about him. Which is why he's so adamant on not revealing himself.

Whenever he puts on the ninja gi, it's the only way he can truly be Lloyd and not The Son of Lord Garmadon. And he doesn't want to lose that. That sense of freedom that he doesn't get any other time.

Unfortunately for him, the universe hates Lloyd.

Only now built up the emotional capacity to read the new chapter of Wings and,,,, THEM. The the THEM!!!

I’ve always wanted to see more of Kai and Wu’s relationship, especially seeing as it parallels that of Morro’s from so long ago, and it’s nice to see Kai be able to rely on an older, dependable figure like the others are able to. Maybe Wu isn’t a perfect role model, but he’s certainly doing much more for Kai than his parents were able to. It’s nice to see your take on their relationship, especially after their quarrels in the pilot and season 1. They just. They fit together in a way that would have been amazing for the show to explore that early on, y’know? And look at you doing just that!!!!!!!!! Amazing. Outstanding. Wonderful. Show stopping. Perfect.

THEIR DYNAMIC IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME. And I will forever weep that we didn’t get more out of it than we did in the show and now we probably never will…but, I wouldn’t the crafting this story then, would I?

It also really shouldn’t have taken me so long to finish but I wanted to make sure there was no huge overlap between this and Kai’s Potential arc in Born to Be (cuz there’s no need to write the same thing twice y’know)

In any case, I’m happy you were able to muster up the emotional capacity to share in my turmoil snksnksnk

An unbreaking cycle

I’m uncertain yet if this is going to be just for my tumblr or if I should also place this onto my Wattpad (please give me your options) but I’ve decided to do a deep dive on a topic that’s been 100% encouraged by a video by Darling.writers, also prior warning that I may indulge a lot of health and social care terms into this, I take this subject as a A-level and am well acquainted with these words. 

So, here’s my deep dive! 

Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon wouldn’t be a good father. 

There I’ve said it, you all can boo me in the comments but I do have a good reason for this thinking specifically what he has been through in his early years. In a child’s life the early years are the most crucial part of their development, because their primary caregiver teaches them the do’s and the don’ts for example psychologist Eric Erickson claims that the first stage a child must developed is Trust vs Mistrust, which is from the age of birth to 18 months (2 years) this teaches the child who to and who to not trust and if it isn’t accomplished then in later life the child can become very untrusting of others and be unlikely to develop bonds with others. 

Now doesn’t that sound familiar to someone we all know and love? 

But I digress, I’m not here to talk about the psychological reasons behind Lloyd having severe trust issues revolving not only the betrayal Harumi bestowed on him but also the lack of a parental figure in his developmental stage. Though another part of Erikson theory known as initiative vs guilt would’ve also been something either a parental figure or an educational setting would teach him, and this was something Lloyd also didn’t learn until later in life because he went to a boarding school designed to teach children to ignore guilt and be naughty. 

Back on topic, fans of Ninjago would know that Lloyd didn’t meet his father until he was around late childhood (11 years old) meaning he never did form a bond with his father when he was an infant, and some Ninjago fans suggest that for a long time Lloyd didn’t know that his father was Lord Garmadon until he actually did some research into his last name. Mistako on the other hand had a different story, she abandoned Lloyd when he was quite young most likely either as a newborn or 2 years old at Darkleys Boarding School For Bad Boys (why there and not with Master Wu, I’ll never understand) so she could seek information on how to prevent the final prophecy of the Green Ninja from becoming a reality. 

This means Lloyd never formed a bond with his mother, and linking another psychologist Bowlby who’s theory is known as the attachment theory suggests that if a bond between a child and a mother is created or is broken by the time the child is five at the latest then it can have lasting effects on the child known as maternal deprivation. This also explains the reason why Lloyd was so quick to turn to crime, sure Darkleys did have a hand in this as they were encouraging this behaviour (Bandura social learning theory in action) but Bowlby also conducted an experiment with orphan child who lacked the motherly bond and the result of it was that some of the children turned to a life of petty crime such as pick-pocketing or shopping lifting as a way to cope without the motherly affection. 

Now that I’ve gotten all of the psychological reasoning out of the way you’re probably wondering, DJ how does any of this affect how Lloyd will be as a father? Well my friend I’m glad you asked. 

Because of what I’ve mentioned previously this shows that he’s had a lack of bonding in his early years meaning he’s never been shown how to take care of an newborn or a young child up until they’re a teenager. Lloyd grew up to be independent because he didn’t have anyone to rely on, he didn’t have the maternal shoulder to lean on for food, shelter, love, safety, self-actualisation, security, self-esteem (all of which are apart of Maslows hierarchy of needs) and even when he was aged up by the tomorrows tea into a teenager and both of his parents were back into his life he didn’t need to rely on them for all of the needs to be met, he was still quite a independent person. 

I also believe Lloyd would fall head first into behaving like his parents. 

He wouldn’t know how to act around a child especially a baby, would thinks it’s so much more fragile than what it already is, meaning he’d want the world to be safe for them so they wouldn’t get hurt. He’d fall into his mother action of isolating himself away to save his child from a world that cannot be rebuilt, Lloyd would try and prevent his child from getting hurt but he would only be hurting the child by not being around. 

Lloyd also wouldn’t be able to be someone the child can be dependent on, since Lloyd grew up so independently he wouldn’t know how to look after someone who is so dependent on them for survival when it isn’t about fighting. Which in turn would push Lloyd further out of the picture. 

Lloyd would be absent in the child’s life sometimes being around but definitely not alot to be able to develop a bond with them, he will be repeating the cycle of neglect his parents had shown him. 

However, Lloyd would be a good parent when the child is a teenager. Why? Because the child wouldn’t be dependent on him, now more grown up the child would be much more independent and Lloyd can foster that independence most likely become a teacher to his child like his father had become to him. 

Because in my eyes while Garmadon (good Garmadon that is) was in his life he behaved more like a teacher than an actual father, teaching Lloyd lesson after lesson and not actually fostering a fatherly bond with him and if he did then it was small and not very impactful.
