Though he remembered going with the artist to take the pictures, it turns out Bobby Short never knew Andy Warhol used the images to make some of his earliest photobooth portrait paintings. They were discovered in Warhol's studio after his death. Maybe he thought they were a little janky, even for a photobooth portrait. Now three of the nine are for sale at Phillips in May 2024. To my knowledge, the drawing Warhol made of Short's feet has not surfaced.
images: three Warhol paintings of Bobby Short on light blue, not light blue, and green backgrounds, 1963, via Phillips, and one of the three known photobooth prints Warhol and Short made, this one with Warhol's head photobombing the first frame.

Something that has made me happy this summer has been digging into the music of Bobby Short. Enjoy this picture of him with Nell Carter.

i love the Smiling Critters as a cartoon concept and if it ever developed like mlp or something like that I can absolutely see something comical like this happening djkfskf
lesson at the end would probably be something about getting a healthy amount of sleep and staying on a good schedule jfhskf

you know i really wonder sometimes whether eddie is fully aware of the degree to which buck loses it when eddie's life is in danger. like does he know that bobby had to physically stop him from trying to dig eddie out from the well with his bare hands. does he know that buck was borderline suicidal while they didn't know if eddie was going to survive after the sniper and deliberately put himself in the middle of an active shooter situation. did anyone ever tell him. what was that conversation like

Monkey Bar by Joe Eula
legends all, but this is a painting by joe eula (legendary illustrator and halston creative director) of four monkeys in a country house which apparently represents the artist, bobby short (upper east side cabaret legend), elsa peretti (legendary jewelry designer and halston muse), mrs glenn bernbaum (wait what? glenn bernbaum, the legendarily mean insecure racist anti-semitic snob who ran the legendary mortimer's restaurant was gay, jewish, and not married)

Here’s a CraftyDog ship headcannon where Craftycorn would finally have the confidence to confess and ask to go out to a date with him!
But sadly Dogday being very excited and a bit childish thinks that they would have a play date, where they would have a full day where everyone is going to play games and not getting that Craftycorn actually means a romantic date with just the two of them.
The other critters that where hiding behind and a top of the tree, watching them from the distance were a taken a back and a bit disappointed by Dogday’s obliviousness to Craftycorn’s cofession, but Bobby thinks that this was close enough.

I'm supposed to be doing something else
But it's boring, so this happened.
Bobby, after he is placed back in his rightful role as Captain of the 118, bragging about his kids:
Bobby: Hen Wilson was accepted to med school while working full-time and being an amazing wife, mother, and foster mother. She's brilliant.
Some other Captain: Wow.
Bobby, pointing to Buck and Eddie fawning over the new equipment: On the right, Evan Buckley. One of the best. Damn near got fired his probie year, but has become one of LAFD's finest and remained that through almost losing his leg and dying.
Some other Captain: Impressive team you have here.
Bobby, puffing out his chest: On the left, Eddie Diaz, Silver Star recipient, former army medic. Survived being shot four times in two incidents. Graduated top of his class.
Chimney, walking by, absentmindedly: *snorts* That was the last time Eddie was a top. *snickers* Just ask Buck.
Bobby, turning red with embarrassment: *sigh* He's an excellent paramedic and an expert in dealing with people. He has no filter and can't behave. That is the soon to be late Howard Han.
Bobby, narrowing eyes and turning to follow a suddenly running Chimney: My office! Now!
