you know what while I’m at it the headcanon that Eddie is riddled with horrible internalized homophobia and would be supposedly so tortured by realizing he’s in love with Buck but Buck not being a woman.. um that shit SUCKS!!! people have been saying stuff like this for years for some reason ummm that guy literally is not real. like none of this is real obviously it is tv but sorry he is not doing that. Eddie-who-cannot-escape-replicating-toxic-masculinity is genuinely just the opposite of the character we have been watching for 7 seasons. his relationship with religion has always been portrayed as agnostic at best and he is regularly a figure of vocal support when it comes to validating other people’s feelings. he does not need some torturous agonizing sexuality arc and half a season of therapy about it. his problem explicitly in the text for years was that he has a hard time feeling like he deserves to express things on his own behalf?? putting what he wants first has too often put him in a place where doing so has felt like failing the people he loves, largely in part because he was told to put his childhood aside and start taking care of other people at age 10. like his main root problem is not internalized homophobia or toxic masculinity it’s always been parentification and a lifelong lack of support from his parents causing self worth issues. and considering his arc this season has been headed to continue to resolve that as much as possible and put him on a path to self love I really and truly do not think he is gonna give that much of a fuck if Buck is a man and that makes him queer. like yeah it’s a perspective he clearly hasn’t thought about in depth yet but I think it would be the opposite really?? I think it will make the rest of it easier. it’s Buck, and loving Buck couldn’t possibly be a bad thing, so reaching for other good things doesn’t have to be either.

just woke up from a nap in which i dreamt i walked past a haagen-dasz which had changed its sign to say EDDIE DIAZ in rainbow letters in preparation for eddie coming out next week. the episode hadn’t aired yet they were just so sure it would happen and wanted to celebrate
