sorry but buckt*mmy is so boring and underdeveloped, and their chemistry is literally almost non-existent except for that first kiss scene. i was excited for them at first, and yet they left me feeling so disappointed. they had 6 episodes to make them interesting and have some depth and all they did was make them kiss twice and cringey daddy kink jokes on their short and uninspiring date. i've never been more disappointed in this show than in the way they handled buck's bi "arc".

Might write it out more.
Tommy isn't religious, but he's praying to whomever can hear him that the boy,who looks barely two or three years old, is okay.
He wants to desperately curse out the parents for being stupid enough to go hiking when the Santa Ana winds were getting stronger.
Tommy picks up the kid gingerly, waiting for his team to pull the parents first since they weren't responding. The kid had a horrible open wound that Tommy was betting was a fracture but the kid's eyes were open and he seemed alert- scared really.
Something about the kid's eyes felt eerily familiar- a sense of deja vu washed over Tommy. The kid's eyes were starting blue and so animated, that Tommy was sure he could read the kid's thoughts just by looking into his eyes.
He gently pushed back the kid's blond curly hair back, pressing against the wound as the kid's eyes could only look around in fear. "Hey, I'm Tommy. What you're name, kiddo?"
"Danny." The kid slurred, his voice barely a whisper. "Mommy and daddy hurt?"
Tommy nodded, "Yes, your mommy and daddy got hurt but my friends are gonna help, okay? We're all firefighters and we're gonna take you to the hospital so you can feel better." He explained gently. He looked up to the helicopter that Lucy was piloting l. The winds were harsh and he had covered Danny's face from having to see his parents sway in the wind as they were being pulled into the helicopter.
"Firetruck?" Danny's eyes were filled with wonder and excitement, of course the kid would love firetrucks.
Tommy laughed, " When we get out of here, we can go see firetrucks with your mom and dad. Okay?"
Danny's eyes drooped close, Tommy patted the toddler's face gently, "Hey buddy, I know you're tired, but I need you to stay awake."
"I'm not tired, Tummy."
Tommy nearly snickered at that, the kid was such a cutie pie. "Hey, what if we sang a song? Want to sing me a song?"
He heard it before he heard his team yell.
The sound of the ground shifting.
"KINARD!"

Amir was ready by the doors for EMT to come through with the second party of the hill avalanche call.
The first set to come through was a couple, younger than Amir. Amir knew that they were able to get the name of the man since he had on a medical bracelet- Connor. They were both rushed to the OR due to being in critical conditions. Amir wasn't sure if either one would make it just based on the amount of blood he saw on the emt workers working on them.
He waited and saw his patient coming in.
"What do we have today?" Amir asked, taking control of the gurney that had the third adult.
"40 years old white male, lacerations on the back of the head, severe bruising on his back and legs, possible fracture on his left leg and possible crush hip." The rushed blond emt informed him, Amir's eyes followed the fourth gurney that was trailing behind them, this one carrying much smaller patient
"Is that his kid?" Amir asked, the kid looked rough and bloodied, with another nurse taking over the bagging for the kid's ventilation.
Another emt looked the blond woman worriedly, "No, he's one of ours, Tommy Kinard. The kid belongs to the parents who were rushed in earlier."
Amir sighed, "Noted, we'll take it from here guys."

The five mile run didn't do anything to calm Buck's nerves.
He still wanted to call Tommy.
More now than ever since he felt like he was losing his family again.
He wanted to be supportive of Eddie, of Maddie and Chim, and Bobby.
But a part of him felt like he couldn't.
Especially that part that saw a future with Tommy.
He chucked his headphones onto the kitchen counter and was ready to do the same with his phone when he saw a familiar number calling him.
"Hello?"
"Hello, is this Evan Buckley?"
Buck could already feel himself start to worry, no one typically asked that question unless it was related to something bad.
"Uh, ye-yeah, this is Evan Buckley." Buck replied roughly.
"I'm calling from Cedar-Sinai hospital, I'm calling about Thomas Kinard? You're listed as his emergency contact."
Buck felt his blood rush to his ears, he was sure words were said but he was on auto-pilot now. He understood a few words the nurse was telling him as he grabbed his keys and wallet: severe injuries, avalanche, helicopter rescue, kid.
Buck just needed to get to Tommy.

Summary: Evan hasn't been with the team long and has kept his family a secret, but now he is ready for the team to meet his daughters. All of them.
Enjoy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tumblr media
Evan loved his job.
Out of all the other odd jobs, random placements and painful experiences he had worked at throughout the years, being a fireman was his calling. It was the one job he felt so at home and eager to do and proud of. And it was the first time he had felt like his colleagues were his family.
But despite feeling like the team were his family, Evan made a quick decision not to tell them about the family he had waiting for him at home when he clocked out each shift.
There were different reasons he didn't tell the team. They all knew he was married, that was something Evan had to disclose in his interview since (Y/n) was his emergency contact so if something happened, she would be able to find him at the hospital if a situation ever arose. But he didn't tell them the rest.
Hen thought of him as a playboy, she'd made that clear from the start and maybe that was just due to the impression Evan gave off. He looked carefree and he was daring and hot headed and passionate when he did his job, his attitude was loving but not exactly the image of a family man. So Hen didn't think Evan was 'dad material' and he didn't take it to heart, he knew looks could be deceiving.
Chimney seemed to think Evan was putting up a front, he was always commenting on how if Evan had a wife waiting at home- he had never met (Y/n) so was slightly sceptical if Evan actually was married or not- he could be so daring in the job. He was first to climb the ladder or run into a burning building.
He didn't understand that it was in Evan's nature to be quick thinking and push forward and do whatever he could to help and think of the consequences afterwards. And at the front of Evan's mind was always his family, he didn't rush into things without considering them. Chimney didn't know this, he didn't see it.
For Bobby, Evan got the impression his captain thought he was young and quite like a puppy, still finding his way in life and working out what he was doing. Bobby thought of Evan as his kid, he thought of him as younger than he really was.
And Eddie, he was still the newbie to the team. He was working them all out and getting into their way of things and getting to know them. Evan didn't give the same 'dad vibes' as Eddie.
No one knew about his children.
He did hint, once or twice, about who he was going home to and what he had hidden behind closed doors. But Evan didn't want to rush into things when this was the best job he'd had and the best people to work with. Evan wasn't good with change and if they knew about his family, dynamics would change. He hadn't brought his family or even (Y/n) to the Christmas party last year.
It had been the first event Evan had been to since he joined the team and he was too anxious about telling them he had a family to actually break the news and bring them along. His family was his everything and he liked having a little secret at home to come back to.
He was ready now.
He was ready for the team to meet his family because he was tired of being questioned if his wife was real or just imaginary. He was tired or the team calling him a daredevil with no conscience and no rationality or consequences. If this was going to be his team and his family for the foreseeable future, he could let them into his world and let them see what he was always fighting for.
"Why aren't you asleep?"
Evan tilted his head down to the right when (Y/n)'s voice, laced with sleep, broke him out of his thoughts and changed the quiet atmosphere surrounding them. It dawned on him then that while he'd been laid on his back with his left arm behind his head, his fingers had been tapping on the headboard.
It was an old habit he couldn't break when he was deep in thought or anxious about something. It had been so automatic that he didn't even hear or feel his knuckles rapping on the wood until now.
"Sorry, just thinking," He tightened his right arm around (Y/n)'s waist, smiling to himself when he felt her move against him. Her arm crept higher over his chest until her hand was curled around his tense shoulder and her upper chest was laid over his. She nuzzled her face against his other shoulder she was laid on and pressed a butterfly kiss against his collar bone that made him shiver.
"About what?" (Y/n) feathered her fingers over his shoulder as she breathed in his scent.
She could feel his heartbeat beneath her ear and the way it pulsed through her skin like a steady drum, trying to coax her back into slumber again. Whenever Evan did a night shift, (Y/n) couldn't sleep. She was too used to laying on top of him and hearing his heartbeat lull her to sleep.
"Introducing you and the girls to the team."
"Is that what you want?" (Y/n) could feel herself waking up a little when it registered what he had said. She knew how important his family and his work family were to Evan and how he wanted them separate for the time being. But if he was ready to introduce them all, (Y/n) wasn't going to say no.
It would be lovely to put faces to the names of the people he had been telling her about. The people that kept her husband safe for her while he was at work. The people who he risked his life for and who, in turn, risked their lives for him.
"Yeah, I want them to meet you all." He reeled her into his side and pressed a sloppy kiss to her temple, unable to stop from smiling against her skin.
Maybe it was time to introduce them.
***
"Stay close girls, I don't want you wandering round here." (Y/n) eyed two of her girls closely and tilted her head at them so they knew she was being serious. The last thing she wanted was to lose the girls at the station and then an alarm go off and chaos ensued.
They had to stay close and within her sights so no trouble was caused, this was the first time the girls would see their dad at work.
It wasn't supposed to be today, but plans had changed.
"I want daddy," Ella bit her thumb, her big blue eyes doing a wide sweep of the station that looked as big as her whole school, playground included. She couldn't see her dad anywhere and she had been crying for him for the last hour. The little girl was getting restless.
"We're gonna find him now." Reaching down, (Y/n) brushed Ella's hair behind her ear before she juggled Cora a little higher on her hip. She didn't have time to struggle getting the pushchair into the car when she had to go and pick the girls up from school and now she was regretting it. She had to carry Cora around with her, lest she wanted to set her down on the floor and watch her crawl around the station and drool everywhere.
"Hi, can I help you?" Chimney stuffed his hands into his pockets, smiling brightly at the four girls he saw walking past the truck, clearly lost in the station.
"Hi… is Evan around? Is it okay if we see him?" (Y/n) smiled nervously and did another double take of the station. She could hear voices coming from the loft upstairs but she couldn't see who was up there.
"Sure, he's just upstairs… you must be Maddie, I'm Howie, but everyone calls me Chimney."
(Y/n) felt her smile melt into a more comfortable one as she walked over to him, making sure Angel and Ella were right behind her as Chimney guided them over towards the stairs. Evan had told the team he had a big sister then, at least he had opened up to them a little. (Y/n) knew he told them he was married, it was the girls he hadn't said anything about.
He didn't mention he had three of them.
"Hey Chim… do we have guests for dinner?" Bobby moved the large dish of pasta into the centre of the table before he pulled back and placed his hands on his hips. His smile was warm and inviting as he looked over the troop of girls who were stood beside chimney.
No one mentioned having family or guests popping by the station today, not that it really mattered. Anyone was welcome as long as it wasn't an inspection day or the bell didn't go off unannounced and ruin things. The station was warm and friendly, they wanted family to feel safe and comfortable coming here and being around the team.
"I think we do, this is-"
"(Y/n)?" Evan almost dropped the bottle of water he just got out the fridge when he turned around and clocked his gaze on his wife.
What was she doing here? Why did she have the girls with her? They should be at school right now.
"Surprise," She bounced Cora on her hip who gurgled, content at pulling the necklace tight in her fist and try to shove it into her mouth.
"Wait, (Y/n)?" Chimney pulled his hands from his pockets and turned at an angle to look at the woman stood beside him. She didn't correct him when he assumed she was Buck's sister Maddie. She didn't say her name or even say anything. This couldn't be the girl Buck was always telling them about, the girl Chimney had been very sure didn't actually exist. She was as beautiful as Buck always boasted.
"Daddy!" Ella could of cried when her blurry eyes finally set on the one person she had been crying out for during the past hour or so.
She pulled away from her big sister and bolted past the large table, bypassed Bobby who seemed to be in her way and made a beeline towards Evan, almost knocking him down with her force. She barelled into his arms, narrowly missing his legs when he lifted her up so she didn't rugby-tackle him down into the fridge behind him.
He lifted her up and swung her round in the air, a bright smile painting his face as he lowered her back down and snuggled her into his chest. His arms pinned her against his chest and he smothered her temple with kisses to feel her squirm and wriggle against him.
"Hi baby! Why aren't you at school?" Evan's voice was a notch higher than normal and full of surprise as he rubbed his cheek against the top of her head and shimmied side to side with his middle girl.
"Hi daddy,"
"Hi sweetie," Evan cooed back and raised his free hand to his temple before he slowly stretched his arm out in the sign for hello.
He grinned broadly when Angel trotted over and wrapped her arms around his legs, burrowing into him to get some of his attention since she was here too. She was the eldest, after all, she was the one who Evan always called his 'little angel' and not just because it was her name. She was his first born, then Ella was his middle girl who was his little double, and Cora was his youngest baby.
"Buck, care to introduce us?" Bobby clamped one hand down on his hip and reached the other out to lean against the kitchen counter.
He rose his brows and quirked a smile as Chimney stood flabbergasted, Hen sat at the table with an open mouth and shock written on her face.
And Eddie did well to hide his surprise as he made a beeline for (Y/n) and the toddler in her arms.
"Guys, this is (Y/n)," Evan pointed over to his wife who he slowly shuffled towards with Angel still clinging to his legs. "This is my eldest, Angel, then there's Ella here," He bounced her on his hip but she hid her face in his neck, too shy to look around. "And the youngest there is Cora; meet my squad."
All of them could see Evan had a proud smile, bright shining eyes and a deep chuckle hiding in his chest. These were his girls, his squad of ladies and he was proud and cherished each of them. He had his wife and three special girls to show off and now the team could see that he wasn't the reckless person they all thought he was. He was a proud dad to three girls.
"Girls, this is my captain Bobby… that's Hen, Chimney you've seen, and this is my pal Eddie."
"You didn't mention anything about this. Where have you been hiding them?" Hen spoke around her cup of coffee but she was too shocked to take another sip.
Buck; their nutter Buck was a dad. He had three children hidden away that they had no idea about.
"You don't waste much time, do you Buck?" Eddie smirked, letting his eyes drift between his friend and (Y/n) until the rest of the team looked over and it clicked in.
She was pregnant.
"I told you, this is my squad."
(Y/n) rolled her eyes but her smile gave away the slight blush and embarrassment she felt. This was exactly what they both had been expecting when the team realised that Evan wasn't even thirty yet and he already had three children, soon to become four.
Her gaze turned back to Eddie who was tickling Cora and she happily handed her toddler over when he muttered a kind 'may I?'. He moved to sit down at the table with Cora on his lap, bouncing her up and down and entertaining her like a champion.
"Now why aren't you at school?" Evan looked back down at Ella and gently brushed his thumb against her cheek to try and get her to talk to him but she stayed quiet and instead buried her face more into his neck to hide herself away.
Looking down at his eldest girl, Evan adjusted Ella a bit higher in his arms so he could raise his hands out in front of him with Ella in the crook of his elbow. He raised his left palm up and pressed his right palm down like he was making a funny clap, doing the sign language for school while he simultaneously whispered 'no school' at her. He was the one who had dropped them both off at school this morning and he knew they shouldn't have left early today which begged the question, why were they here now at lunch time?
The seven-year-old looked up at him with her doe eyes and then looked across at her mum instead.
"They gave out cookies at school but no one mentioned they had milk in them."
"Lactose intolerant?" Hen muttered quietly but she pursed her lips and realised she had to be wrong when she saw Evan's reaction. He quickly pulled Ella back and cupped her face in his palm to look down at her and examine her like he'd been told she had been shot. His fingertips skimmed across her face before going to examine her neck which made the little girl pull back with a whine.
He could see it now. He could see the dried tears staining her cheeks and the redness all around her eyes and the blotches across her cheeks and down her neck.
"Ella's allergic to milk," (Y/n) tried to smile but it was hard after the argument she'd just had with the school.
There was a laminated piece of paper in Ella's school bag that listed off her allergies and it was on her record and written down in reception and the classroom cupboard. No one could miss it or forget or not realise she had allergies. At home there was a big sticker that said 'Allergies: MILK' in bright brick red letters at the top so if anyone came round, they knew what they couldn't give to one of the girls. Then below that it listed her other allergies such as honey, lavender and plasters.
They had a section in the cupboard filled with all the biscuits and snacks Ella would eat which didn't contain milk.
Lavender brought Ella out in bright red splotches that itched and burned like she had been touched by a red hot poker. Plasters were less dramatic, they were irritating to her skin and slowly started to feel like they burned. Honey was hit and miss, it either made her chest burn and her skin blotch or she had a worse reaction and couldn't breathe.
But milk was the main allergy, anytime Ella had milk she went into anaphalactic shock. Her throat would swell and close up, her chest would ache and burn and she had to have one if not two shots of adrenaline from her EpiPen to stop the reaction.
When Ella was a baby, her allergy was less serious, they had to buy special baby powder that she could take. But as soon as she was a toddler and they tried any other form of milk, they had to take a drive down to A&E or call an ambulance.
"Did they use your EpiPen?" Evan spoke quietly, his brows still furrowed and his lips still held in a deep frown as he looked down at his daughter. He started to relax a little when Ella leaned into the palm of his hand and nuzzled her nose against his wrist making him feel more at ease but he still frowned when she nodded. She looked as if she was about to cry again but when she curled her arms around Evan's neck and he kissed her cheek, she seemed to calm down a bit more.
"I didn't know daddy, I only had one bite,"
"It's not your fault baby," He pressed a kiss to the top of her head and tightened his arms round her when she leaned her cheek on his shoulder.
The school had a list of Ella's allergies and they had two EpiPens, one in the classroom and one in the reception as a back up. She took her own pack up to school so there was no risk of anything being contaminated with milk but they should double check before they give her anything. (Y/n) had told them under no circumstances to give Ella anything that wasn't in a packet, especially cake when children brought in their birthday cake that didn't have a list of ingredients. It wasn't worth the risk when Ella had such a high allergy.
At least she was okay this time, Evan had been called before from the school saying she had two EpiPens administered and they called an ambulance as protocol.
(Y/n) got the phone call but they had been quick giving Ella her dose of adrenaline and she calmed down, started to breathe and talk just fine and when (Y/n) rushed down and checked her over, there was no need for an ambulance. But Ella was in a state and she didn't want to stay and to make things easier, she had collected Angel early as well so she didn't have to go back in a few hours and pick her up later.
The plan had been to take the girls home but Ella had cried as soon as she got in the car, demanding to see her dad. It was routine after any allergic reaction that Ella saw Evan and got comforted by him and today was no different, she wasn't going home without seeing her daddy.
"Would you like to stay for dinner?"
"Is that okay?" (Y/n) looked between Bobby and Evan, double checking that it would be okay for the girls to stay, none of them had had anything to eat yet other than a partial cookie that caused today's chaos.
"Of course! We have to get to know you all now anyway," Hen waved for them all to sit down around the table. It was the routine to eat dinner together as a family and now, finally, they could meet Buck's family and get to know them. They were going to be part of the 118 either way so they should stay.
Evan leaned over Eddie so he could give Cora a quick kiss, he hadn't seen his one year old yet who Eddie gently handed back to (Y/n). And Evan kissed (Y/n)'s temple before he moved and took a seat next to (Y/n) with Ella on his lap since she was attached to him at the moment. Angel moved to sit between Evan and Chimney while Bobby sat at the other end of the table.
A fondness washed over Bobby when he looked at Evan suddenly interacting with Angel.
He held his hands out in front of him and curled all fingers but his pinkies into his palm and made a circular motion with his hands before pulling his arms back at his sides like repelling magnets.
"Pasta for lunch sweetie," He spoke slow and clear and repeated the sign for pasta until Angel nodded and grinned. It was one of her favourites.
"What's the sign for hello?" Chimney looked over Angel at Evan who was sat on her other side but his eyes widened when Angel looked up at him and placed her hand to her head and did a salute. Hello was an easy sign, a simple gesture that many mistook for an army salute.
"She can read your lips if you speak clear, sign is just easier for her, we're working on pronouncing," Evan kissed her temple when she leaned into his arm, looking up at him with adoration in her eyes as she watched him explain.
Angel could speak but her pronouncing was a little bad at the moment, she could barely hear anyone or hear herself speak and it made her self conscious. Sign language was easier and calming for her because no one could make fun of how she said things and she could sign much faster than she could lip read or speak.
"Oh, right."
"Daddy…" Ella looked up at him with bashful eyes when he plated up Angel and himself a bowl of pasta, knowing Ella would share with him.
"No milk baby, I saw Bobby make it. You'll be fine." He winked down at her and took a mouthful before he stabbed another forkful and held it down towards her. He leaned his cheek against the top of her head to keep her calm and when she took a cautious bite, she grinned.
Evan went to take another mouthful but his jaw dropped and he gasped when Ella reached both her small hands up and grabbed his wrist to pull the fork down to her instead. She giggled when Evan tipped his head back and groaned but everyone else started to laugh.
"My daughters like your cooking, Cap." Evan gave up and handed Ella the fork so she could eat first, he knew he wasn't going to get very much now until she was finished. And he leaned over to the left and kissed Angel's forehead, rubbing his free hand up and down her back.
"I'm glad to hear it, that means they can all come by more often."
Lorraine Day Headcanons? :))
lorraine day headcanons
very fun to think about and heavily inspired by romeo and juliet, i know other people had also requested i do headcanons for lorraine but i was just gonna do the one, so if people want more lmk. you might be a bit crazy but whatever
sorry for the wait btw this was requested a looong time ago i believe
Tumblr media
you and lorraine have been aware of each other since childhood, but you don’t ever interact or become something even close to friends because of a very simple reason: your parents absolutely despise each other, and have since you moved there
it doesn’t matter that both your family and the day family are farmers, or that the town is very small— it’s functionally split down the middle, in allegiances to each side that only worsen with time
you have your friends, lorraine has hers, and you both know to stay very far away from each other, even if you’ve never actually interacted much
though you don’t speak to one another, you have your minds made up about each other. lorraine day is condescendingly smart and ambitious, and all the time she spends silently under RJ’s arm is also spent judging you with her eyes. you, on the other hand, are overconfident and idiotic, and you spend any time you haven’t got your hand down a girl’s pants doing something stupid with your friends
of course, neither of you have actually spoken to the other long enough to actually see if you’re correct in your evaluation, but you also know speaking would be a minefield, what with cousins and friends who are just as passionate about the divide as your parents
you only actually meet properly for the first time at a high school party that’s getting busted by the local sheriff for getting too loud
immediately once the sirens go off, you’re running through the woods, chucking the half empty beer can over your shoulder and racing into the trees
you wind up hiding in one, well hidden up in the branches, easy to climb but not to see, and you wait in the dark as you watch police flashlights comb through the forest in the search of teens
you don’t know why you do it, but you can see the police closing in on lorraine, and though it can compromise your position, you reach down from the tree, whisper “up here,” and yank her into your hiding space
you’re definitely both extremely wary of each other in the spot. you keep glancing in the other’s direction like you think she’ll betray you or you’ll betray her but neither of you say anything for another hour until you’re sure they’re all gone
when she does get confident enough to speak, lorraine whispers “thank you…” softly in the night, and you do a double-take because you thought she would yell at you or something
you start talking, and go to help her down from the tree. you start walking back in the dark, towards the parking lot where a bunch of kids put their trucks, and the both of you are just chatting normally. about school, life, family stuff, anything
it definitely catches you both off balance because, well, neither of you seem unpleasant. you’re not stupid or hyper-sexual, and she’s not condescending or judgemental
the moment RJ finds you both, though, all hell breaks loose. he’s rushing over and tearing lorraine away from you, like you have the plague, shouting at you to “stay away from her!” and asking her if you did anything to her with your filthy (L/n) behaviour, and he has jackson and bobby-lynne there to back him up
it’s jarring to say the least, and you both stumble away from each other in a daze, to find your own friends watching lorraine suspiciously
both yours and lorraine’s parents are furious when they find out what happened (your best friend told yours and RJ told lorraine’s), and they warn you about each other, even after lorraine and you repeat over and over again that you were both nothing but pleasant and helpful
you see her again at school, but her friends are giving you death glares just as your friends are giving her death glares
you wind up talking under the bleachers, away from everyone, and you find you’re both just as pleasant as you were at the party
lorraine is intelligent and kind, along with incredibly introspective, and you’re funny and caring, and just a fun person to talk to. it’s refreshing and also a little strange, and you’re both trying to reconcile how the other isn’t some cruel monster your parents described them as
you sneak out back to the same woods as the party and talk to each other almost every night. she tells you about how she’s not entirely in love with RJ and hasn’t been for a long time, and you tell her about how you want to get out of your small Texas town and make something of your life. it’s like there’s a magnetism pulling you towards one another, and though it’s definitely star-crossed, considering your parents’ hostility, it also just feels right
lorraine is the one to kiss you. you say something silly about your car tire and how your idiot friend blew it out, and she’s just watching your lips as you talk until she can’t take it, and just reaches over and kisses you
you end up with your back to a tree and it definitely goes way past that lol
you hate having to hide your relationship from everyone else, so you decide, rather quickly, that you both want to run away together
you formulate a whole plan about how you guys will leave town suddenly, together, and leave a note for both your parents, saying you’re safe and in love
RJ tries to stop you after he finds it, saying you’ve done some sort of witchcraft on lorraine to brainwash her. he tries to attack you, but lorraine cracks him over the head with a baseball bat, and hops quickly into your car
you definitely drive off into the sunset, lol, surprising every person in town who sees you driving away together
after long enough, your parents reach out about wanting you to come home and that they want to make it all work between the families, as much as they hate each other
you live happily ever after? idk, maybe i’ll do a part 2 or make this a story
Tumblr media
get ready cause i might be posting 2x tonight
Pairing : Eddie Diaz x Reader
Tumblr media
It had been a horrible call, and the whole station knew about it. Everyone felt it in different ways. Many just stayed quiet, some going to the gym, but Eddie walked to his locker and stared at the little velvet box on the inside. Buck walked up behind him, placing his hands on Eddie’s shoulders.
“You’ve still got that thing?” Buck 6 over his shoulder, and Eddie nodded
“I’ve just never found the right time to do it” He sighed, sitting on the bench and shutting the door to hide the ring box again.
“Eddie. Do it now. God knows both you and Y/N, and well, everyone else in this station needs a little cheering up. You’re perfect for each other. You’ll never find a perfect time if you keep waiting” Buck shook his head, and Eddie looked over with a nod getting up.
Meanwhile, you were sitting upstairs sipping on a cup of coffee to relieve the stress from the call. Hen, Chimney, and Bobby sat off to the side. Eddie rushed up the stairs and over to you. You looked over as he took the coffee cup out of your hands, exciting a whine from your lips.
“You can get your coffee back in a minute, baby. I promise I just need to borrow you for a minute” He smiled, and you nodded, getting up and following him back down the stairs. Eddie walked you both to a hidden space behind the firetrucks where not a single person could see you no matter how busy it got.
“Why are you down here? You’re not planning on killing me, are you?” You joked, and he shook his head.
“I’ve been fighting about this for ages. Buck finally talked some sense into me, and I figured no time like the present” You frowned, looking at him
“It definitely sounds like you’re about to kill me” Eddie held your hands, looking into your eyes. He gently placed a kiss to your knuckles before getting down on one knee. Your frown deepened as he dropped one of your hands and reached into one of his many pockets and pulled out the small velvet box.
“Eddie, what are you doing?” You asked as he looked up at you, his hands shaking as he did.
“Of course I will” You smiled as he slid the ring on your finger. He stood up, hugging you tightly as your lips pressed together for a long kiss.
“I love you so much, Y/N. You’re the love of my life, and Christopher loves you, which also pushed my decision towards doing this because Christopher is everything to me. Well, joint number one because no one can ever beat Christopher. Now I’m blabbering” You smiled watching him.
“As I was saying. You’re the love of my life, and there’s no one else I would ever want to spend every day of my life with, and today after that call just helped me realise that even more. Y/N L/N I want to spend every day of my life with you, and I love you so much. Will you marry me?” He asked, and your hands covered your mouth as you started to tear up. You always proud yourself for not crying on shift
✰✰✰
Later that night, everyone was gathered into Bobby’s house. Bobby cooking on the grill, May, Harry, Denny, and Christopher running about and playing with each other as you sat on Eddie’s lap. His hand wrapped around your waist and head resting on your shoulder as everyone talked. Music quietly played in the background as everyone sat talking. Your hands played with Eddie’s hands as you spoke to Maddie, who was cuddling Jee-Yun, who was happily falling asleep in your arms.
Sat imagining how that could be you and Eddie in a few years. Christopher is off playing while you’re sitting cuddling your baby and Eddie at the same time.
“Are you okay, baby? You’ve gone quiet?” Eddie asked quietly, pressing a kiss to your neck just under your ear. You nodded quietly, turning your head to place a kiss to his lips
“Just imagining our future together” you whispered against his lips, and he smiled
“Oh yeah? What does that look like?” He asked
“Christopher off playing, us sat cuddling each other and our little baby” You smiled
“You want a baby?” He asked, and you nodded
“Of course I do. Do you?” You asked now just realising that the topic had never come up before
“I’d love to give Christopher a sibling” He smiled, pressing yet another kiss to your lips. Your hands wrapped around his neck and softly played with the hair at the nape of his neck. The perfect way to end the day.
Part 1
Part 2
--- Third Person POV ---
Hours later, the team has been given the go ahead to go home but every one of them is heading to the hospital in hopes of seeing (Y/N). Hen cleared it with Bobby first but decided it was best if she stayed with Eddie who has been pacing the waiting room the entire time since they sent (Y/N) back. She had sent messages to everyone she could think of, letting them know which hospital they’re at and keeping them updated. Unfortunately, the phones have only just now been able to start working again. Her phone begins exploding with notifications. Carla is bringing Chris as well as a change of clothes for Eddie. Athena says she and the kids are on the way but stopping for coffee and snacks. Karen confirms she’s getting Denny and Mara in the car now with a change of clothes for Hen. Maddie and Jee are on their way too. Every single person that Hen texted, responds except for the 118 members, Talia, and Tommy who all changed out of their gear as soon as they got to the station and piled into Bobby’s truck and Buck’s Jeep.
Those who responded all trickle in with Athena, May, and Harry bringing up the rear as they drop several bags of snacks and a couple gallons of cold brew on the coffee table that everyone has gathered around. Carla and Chris have convinced Eddie, who is now nursing a cup of cold brew, to sit down and are posted on either side of him, Carla rubbing his back and Chris holding his hand tightly. Karen and Hen are playing patty cake with Jee while Maddie begs the nursing staff for an update. Harry, Denny, and Mara are quietly discussing some video game while they snack. Athena and May share a look before they make their way over to Maddie and gently tug her back to the group. It seems everyone lets out a breath they had been holding when the group of firefighters step through the glass doors. The waiting room is brought to life as everyone greets each other. Eddie on the other hand is rooted to his seat and staring at the floor.
Just as Bobby is about to place his hand on Eddie’s shoulder, the doctor enters the waiting room. Everyone waits with bated breath as he approaches them, Talia and Eddie both rushing to meet him. He looks around at the rather large group before chuckling, “You’re all here for (Y/N) (Y/L/N)?” Several in the group nod so he continues, “Good. She’s out of surgery. It was a little touch and go but she’s stable. The anesthesia will wear off soon but, due to the amount of blood she lost, it may take her some time to wake up. Once we get her settled into a room, I’ll let you all know.” Everyone nods in understanding and releases the breath they were holding. A few of them thank the doctor as he walks away. Eddie drops back into a chair, laying his head back against the wall, and grabs hold of Christopher’s hand again. Talia is pulls Tommy away from the group to ask him what’s going on between (Y/N) and Eddie, soon finding herself in tears upon hearing the news. Tommy pulls her into a tight hug, hating that he had to break it to her. The others strike up conversations to pass the time.
A short while later, the doctor returns to the group, “She’s in a room. Anesthesia should be worn off but as I explained earlier, she’s not awake yet. That being said, you can see her now but you’ll have to take turns. I don’t want more than two or three in there at a time. You can find her in room A204.” As he departs, Eddie kisses the top of Christopher’s head and heads to her room.
Everyone else has their eyes on Talia who hasn’t moved a muscle. Tommy places his hand on her shoulder, “Go.” She looks up at him and around the group with uncertainty but with a nod from Bobby she’s off toward the room as well.
When Talia enters the room, Eddie is sitting in a chair on the opposite side of the bed from the door. He is holding (Y/N)’s hand tightly, tears streaming down his face, and mumbling under his breath, “(Y/N) please, you gotta wake up for me.” She takes a seat on the other side of the bed and the room falls silent aside from the steady beep of the heart monitor.
A few moments pass before he clears his throat, “If it weren’t for you, she- she wouldn’t be alive right now.”
Fresh tears paint her cheeks as she looks down at her lap, “If it weren’t for me, she wouldn’t be in this mess in the first place.”
He looks at her, head titled, “What do you mean?”
“If it weren’t for me, the love of her life wouldn’t have broken up with her, she wouldn’t have been in that therapy office, and she wouldn’t have been run through with rebar,” she admits, struggling to get the words out through her tears. He is immensely confused at first but she clarifies before he can ask, “A few weeks ago I called her because I needed someone to keep me from hurting myself. She came no questions asked. She’s been stopping by to check on me a lot. She always answers the phone when I need her. Selfishly, I made her promise not to tell anyone because I didn’t want my team finding out.” Eddie’s heart breaks as he realizes but she continues, “If it weren’t for me, she wouldn’t be in this mess.”
He reaches his hand across the bed for Talia’s who hesitantly takes it. He looks her dead in the eyes, “You cannot blame yourself for any of this. You did the best thing you could which was ask for help when you needed it. You don’t know where she would’ve been if not in that office with you. It could- it could’ve been much worse.” He pauses for a moment, looking back at (Y/N), “I wish I would’ve just believed and trusted her when she said she had a good reason.”
Talia wipes her tears away; she still feels terrible about everything but knows (Y/N) would’ve told her the same exact thing that Eddie did. She squeezes his hand gently, “I know I’m not around you and the rest of her new family that much but I’ve heard a lot about everyone.” He looks up at her and she continues, “I’ve heard more about you and Chris than anyone else. She always has a blindingly bright smile on her face when she tells me about you two and I know without a shadow of a doubt that she loves you more than life itself.” Eddie nods as Talia squeezes his hand once more before dropping it and standing up to leave. Before she opens the door, she stops and looks back at him, “She still does. She wouldn’t hesitate for a second to take you back. Hell, I don’t even think she even let you go.”
Eddie kisses (Y/N) knuckles as Talia leaves, “I don’t deserve it but I hope to god you can forgive me for being so stupid...”
It’s not long before the door opens again, this time by Buck and Tommy. Eddie does his best to slap on a smile when he sees Chris right behind them. He watches his son take the seat Talia had been in previously and grab hold of (Y/N)’s hand, “Is she gonna be okay?” he asks hopefully looking up at his father.
Eddie nods reassuringly, “Yeah, she’s just sleeping so her body can recover.”
Chris nods and looks down at where his hand meets hers, “Where’s her bracelet?”
“They had to take it off so it wouldn’t get messed up during the surgery and recovery,” Eddie responds. In his peripheral, he sees Buck and Tommy patiently waiting their turn.
Chris seems deep in thought for a few seconds before stating, “She’s gonna kick their asses when she finds out. I gotta fix it.” With this, he gets up and exits the room on a mission. Buck goes after him, motioning for Eddie to stay put.
It’s quiet again as Eddie and Tommy listen to the steady beep of her heart. Finally, Tommy takes a seat. Eddie makes eye contact with him, “I’m sorry. Talia told me everything. I know I fucked up and I know she means the world to you.”
Tommy looks over at (Y/N) face and reaches up to brush her hair out of her eyes as he thinks. Taking a deep breath, he responds, “Just promise me that the next time you think about doing something stupid, we hit the mat first so I can knock some sense into you.”
Eddie chuckles, nodding, “I will.” It’s quiet again while Eddie debates with himself before finally pulling something out of his pocket and handing it to Tommy, “Does this count as something stupid?”
Tommy looks down at the ring box in his hand as his smile grows. After opening it, he answers, “Never in a million years.” He closes the box and hands it back to Eddie, “But you should know that Buck was looking forward to helping you pick it out. He’s gonna be heart broken.”
Eddie puts the box back in his pocket, “Technically, he did help me pick it out. Whether he remembers that or not is a different story.”
Tommy knits his brows together in confusion, “What?”
Eddie smiles, “I went with him when he bought you that bracelet a while back. He was looking through the cases while we waited on them to bag it up. I was zoned out thinking about (Y/N) when he slapped me on the shoulder and very excitedly pointed at a specific ring saying, ‘(Y/N) would love this one!’”
Tommy shakes his head chuckling, “So, you bought it?”
Eddie shrugs, “Not right then but after a few days of constantly thinking about it, I had to.” Tommy laughs but Eddie’s face drops. At the tilt of Tommy’s head, Eddie adds, “I held onto it, trying to find the right time to ask her but then she started acting weird and...”
Tommy sighs, “You still have it though. You didn’t let her go.”
Eddie shakes his head, “I couldn’t. I broke up with her because I was scared of getting hurt but it hurt so much more to do so. I thought maybe if I just distanced myself from her for a while that it would stop but if anything, it got worse.” He takes a deep breath, “I just hope she’ll forgive me because I don’t know how much longer I can take this ring burning a hole in my pocket.”
Tommy nods, “She will. She’ll do it in a heartbeat but then you gotta nut up and give her that ring.”
Eddie smiles, “Would it be too much to ask her to forgive me and marry me in the same conversation?”
Tommy shakes his head violently, “Absolutely not.”
Eddie laughs, “Good.”
Over the next few hours, people come and go. Everyone gets their own turn of checking on her and reassuring Eddie that she’ll be okay. Finally, with only Eddie in the room, she stirs. She squints up at the ceiling as she tries to process where she is. The sound of her moving her head to look around alerts Eddie who jerks up from where he lays on her arm, “Hey, you’re okay. You’re in the hospital.”
She nods, trying to speak but her mouth is dry. Eddie hands her the bottle of water, Carla had brought him earlier, from the side table that and helps her take a few sips. When she pulls away, he sets the bottle back down on the table and brushes her hair from her face, “How are you feeling?”
She stares at him for a few seconds before whispering, “I’m just glad you’re here.”
He kisses her knuckles, “Of course I am, baby. I love you so much and I’m so sorry I doubted you.” The confusion on her face prompts him to add, “Talia told me what happened. I can’t believe I ever thought you’d do something like that. I should’ve known you had a good reason.” She smiles softly but he still feels the need to ask, “Will you forgive me?”
She nods immediately, “Of course.” Out of habit she reaches to fidget with her bracelet but finds it missing, “I’m gonna kick someone’s ass.”
Eddie laughs heartily, “Chris said you would.”
She reaches up to cup his cheek, “I love you.”
He leans into her touch, “I love you too.”
The moment is interrupted when the door opens again but both are immediately delighted to see Carla opening the door for Chris who is overjoyed to see (Y/N) awake. He takes a seat as Carla waves with a smile before closing the door to give the small family a moment. With one hand, Chris reaches over and takes (Y/N)’s left wrist and wraps her bracelet back where it belongs with the other. She smiles brightly but Eddie is suspicious, “Chris, did you pester the nursing staff for that.”
He grins proudly, “Yup, I told them my step mom would kick their butts if they didn’t give it to me.”
Eddie and (Y/N) share an amused look before she ruffles Christopher’s hair, “Thanks, buddy.” He grins and reaches up to take her hand in his.
Eddie’s eyes flick between the two before he stands and joins Chris on the other side of the bed.  (Y/N) is slightly confused when he places his hands on Christopher’s shoulder and whispers something in his ear. Chris listens intently before nodding incessantly, “Yes! Do it. Do it now.”
Eddie grins and ruffles his son’s hair, “Alright, alright calm down. I will.” He places himself between Chris and (Y/N). She is utterly bumfuzzled but Chris is dancing in his seat excitedly. Eddie removes something from his pocket and drops to one knee causing her to slap her hand over her mouth. The man smiles up at her, “I know this isn’t at all the ideal time or place to ask you this but,” he looks around the room and then back at her, “I was very recently reminded that we aren’t promised tomorrow, especially in our line of work.” He opens the ring box and holds it up to her, “(Y/N), will you marry me?”
Chris cheers happily upon hearing her answer, “Yes!” Tears of joy fill both Eddie and (Y/N)’s eyes as he slips the ring on her finger, stands, and kisses her with every ounce of love that he can.
The couple parts when the door opens again as Buck and Tommy poke their heads in. Tommy grins, immediately noticing the ring on her finger. Slightly confused having missed the small but important detail, Buck stutters, “Sorry, Carla told us she’s awake. Are-are we interrupting something? We can come back later.”
Tommy pushes past his boyfriend and makes his way to (Y/N)’s right side, making eye contact with Eddie, “I told you she would. Does your leg feel better without that hole burning in your pocket?”
Eddie nods, laughing as identical looks of confusion settle on (Y/N) and Buck’s faces as Buck paces over to Tommy’s side. Eddie looks down at her, “I showed it to him earlier.”
Understanding replaces her confusion but Buck is still lost, “What hole? Showed who what? I’m so confused.” (Y/N) holds her hand up to Buck showing off her ring. He gasps for words as excitement floods his entire body and he takes her hand in his to inspect it. None of them notice as the doctor stops in the open doorway, observes what is happening, and then immediately makes his way to the waiting room. After a minute or so, Buck’s face drops to disappointment as he looks up at Eddie and Tommy, letting go of her hand, “I kinda wanted to help pick it out...” Tommy pats his head before wrapping his arm around his waist.
Eddie shakes his head chuckling, “Do you not recognize it? You were so damn sure she’d like it that you bruised my arm to get my attention.”
It takes a few seconds but realization finally smacks across his face as he gasps, “This is that ring?”
Eddie nods as (Y/N) who is admiring the ring confirms, “He wasn’t wrong. I love it.” Everyone smiles as Eddie kisses the top of her head. Before anyone can say anything else, the door opens and their friends and family flood in. Everyone gushes over the ring, offers the couple their congratulations, and states how glad they are that (Y/N) is okay.
Talia takes a seat on the edge of the bed to (Y/N)’s right, “The doctor had to step out of the way of the stampede after he told us you had a ring on that you weren’t admitted with.” (Y/N) laughs, barely able to spot the doctor in the doorway through the crowd of friends and family. She gives him a thumbs up and he nods with a smile as he returns to his rounds.
She looks to Talia and takes her hand in her own but before she can say it, Talia assures, “I know what you’re gonna say. Eddie already did.” (Y/N) looks to Eddie who is locked in a tight hug from Bobby with a smile on his face that is bigger than she’s ever seen. Talia leans over to whisper in her ear, “You weren’t kidding when you said Tommy is wrapped around Buck’s finger.” As (Y/N) turns back to look at Talia, she spots Tommy who is wrapped around Buck from behind. Both are smiling brightly as Buck and Maddie are already discussing bachelor party plans.
“They’re next, I’m calling it now,” (Y/N) tells Talia who laughs loudly. Their hands stay locked together as (Y/N) looks back to Eddie who now has an arm around Christopher’s shoulders as they chat excitedly with Carla. Carla notices her looking and nods in her direction as she shoves the two toward her. Eddie takes the hand she offers him and Chris climbs up to sit beside her. An hour or so passes before a nurse squeezes through the crowded hospital room. She smiles at (Y/N) before proceeding to check her vitals and give her fresh bandages. Only when (Y/N) is nodding off and very obviously struggling to stay awake does everyone wish her well, promise they’ll visit again later, and head home. Soon, the only ones left are her boys. She kisses the top of Christopher’s head as she notices he has fallen asleep carefully tucked into her side. She pats the right side of the bed for Eddie to join her. The three of them have to scoot in real close to fit on the hospital bed but after the week she’s had, she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Bobby Nash x reader - got you
Tumblr media
Can we get a bobby nash x platonic female reader, they have like a father daughter relationship. During a rescue she gets trapped in rubble and bobby is worried. - Anon💜
You had your orders and you were following them the best you could, but all this rubble and debris everywhere was making it harder to do what you needed to do.
“Hey Bobby?!” You called.
“Yeah?!”
The captain came around, and he looked at what you were looking at.
A huge slab of the parking lot had come crashing down, and it was blocking the way you needed to go.
“Is there a way around it?” He asked.
“No, it’s just a small hole there. The rest is all blocked in, it’s the back of this section.”
Bobby nodded his head and knelt down, shining his torch through the gap but the light couldn’t reach far enough.
Bobby tried calling in case there was anyone there and got no response.
“We need to send someone in Bobby.”
He got up and nodded his head.
“Keep in touch every few minutes, I’ll be right here.”
“Of course.”
Giving him a grin, you took some of your stuff off to get through the gap, bringing through whatever would fit as you began to slowly move around.
You had to check in, under and around cars, debris and fallen signs.
“Halfway there cap.” You radioed.
“If it seems unstable don’t go.”
“Right.”
You carried on searching, calling out.
The building trembled a little bit, and you froze slightly.
“You okay in there (Y/N)?”
“I’m good cap.”
You went to move again, but the fall below you seemed to vanish and you fell into the darkness, hitting your head along the way.
The building trembled again, and Bobby called for everybody to find a safe place.
When the tremors stopped, he asked for a headcount, and everybody responded but you.
“(Y/N)?” He spoke into the radio.
Silence.
“Can anybody hear from (Y/N)?” Bobby asked.
He prayed maybe it was just his radio messing up.
But when a chorus of no’s came through, he realised it wasn’t that.
“Firefighter (Y/N) (L/N) this is your captain, respond with your status.” He said.
Silence rang out, and he tried to find a way into where you had gone, but the gap had closed, and despite his efforts to find a way through he couldn’t.
“Anybody free I need you in the lower parking lot now, far right!” Bobby yelled.
He kept trying to reach out to you to no avail.
The began to work as quickly as they could to get to you.
When you came too, it was dark, and it took a minute for you to adjust to the darkness, fingers fumbling around for your radio but you couldn’t find it.
You groaned a little, trying to sit up, but you felt trapped, so you tapped around on the ground, reaching for your torch.
It took a few attempts, more than a few pained noises until you gave up.
You prayed your phone would work, you wouldn’t have any signal, but you could use the light from that.
With a little struggle you managed to get into your pocket to get it out, and you turned the torch on, setting it back in the floor to look around.
You were trapped in a little hole, laid on the floor, staring up at a tiny gap, but your leg was pinned under part of a car.
On your chest was a slab of concrete which you could barely push to the side.
“BOBBY?!” You yelled.
You waited for a reply but never got one, and tears filled your eyes as the worst came to mind.
Were you stuck there?
Was everybody okay?
Would you be able to get of there?
Could they find you?
Would another tremor come and in on the building down even more?
So many things rushed through your mind that all you could do was sit there and sob quietly, trying anything you could think off to free yourself.
And Bobby was nearly in tears as well as he waited for the slow process of clearing a gap for them to get through.
“She’ll be alright, you know she will.” Hen said gently.
“I really want to believe that, I do. But right now all I can do is think the worst…”
Hen placed a hand on her captains shoulder and he looked up at her.
“We’ll get to (Y/N) in no time Bobby, and she’ll be just fine.”
Bobby couldn’t say anything.
They had all been trying to reassure him but he couldn’t believe them.
He was blaming himself.
If he hadn’t let you go through there you would be fine, you wouldn’t be stuck it worse.
For him it was like reliving the night he lost his family, he never thought he would have a family again, then there was you.
The chaotic, hyperactive, foul mouthed heathen of the station, not a single care in the world and living your best life.
You were in need of a guide, a parental figure to get you though life, and although he swore he’d never be that for you, he was.
He helped you learn about your bills and tax, he helped you budget and taught you how to cook so you didn’t have to live off takeout.
He had adopted the role of your dad, you were his unofficial daughter, and he couldn’t bare the thought of loosing another kid.
Which is why when almost an hour later a safe passage had been created he was the first one through.
“(Y/N)?!” He called out.
You looked up towards the small gap.
“(Y/N)?!”
You heard more voices and you took a small breath.
“Over here!” You called.
In a matter of minutes you heard people above you.
“Stop! Stop! It’s not stable!”
They all stopped and slowly backed away.
“How’re you holding up down there?” Chim asked.
“I.. I think I hit my head, my leg is trapped…”
“Hang in there okay? We’re going to get you as fast as we can, just talk to Bobby!” Eddie called.
So that’s what you did, Bobby talked to you, he asked you questions and gave you any updates about the rescue that he had.
It was a good distraction for everything.
The first thing they did was clear the top, so they could see the extent of everything.
Eddie and Bobby came down, Eddie checked you over before turning his attention to your leg while Bobby sat next to you.
“Hey kid, you’re alright. I’ve got you.”
You nodded a little, holding his hand tightly in yours.
“We can move it but the suddenly movement is going to hurt.” Hen said.
“Just do it as fast as you can.” You said.
Buck jumped down so he could help Bobby, and both of them put your arms over their shoulders, and you counted down.
The moment you hit one the rubble was pushed up, and you screamed as you were hauled up and out of the hole.
You gasped for air, tears on your eyes.
Bobby climbed out, holding you tightly.
“Hey, okay. Okay. You’re okay.”
You carried on breathing through the pain, holding his arm tightly.
“I’m not going anywhere, alright? We’ll get you all sorted, then to the hospital, we’ll eat some bad food and drink terrible coffee yeah?” Bobby asked.
You nodded.
The pain was creeping up on you, and you were exhausted so you rested your head back.
“(Y/N) stay awake, come in you know the drill.” He said.
“I’ll try…”
He made you talk to him, making sure you weren’t falling asleep.
You were out, now they had to get you to the hospital and home to recover, and that’s when you were going to need your father figure the most
[Previous Chapter] | [All Chapters] | [Next Chapter coming tomorrow]
December 2024
It's another week before Buck gets released, and it's a weird one. Eddie is no stranger to the heavy, empty feeling that overtakes the firehouse whenever a member of the 118 is missing—it haunted the station when Chim left to track down Maddie, when Hen traded in her turnout gear for a white coat, when Bobby stepped out on them, and every single time Buck was taken from then. It's always felt bad. It's always felt like, well, like losing a family member. That's what the 118 is, after all: family.
But something is different this time, and Eddie can't put his finger on it. When he brings it up to the others, Chim jokes that it might be because this time, Buck's absence is not because of a word that starts with L—leg, lawsuit, lightning strike—and that gets a laugh out of Eddie.
"Probably," he says, and puts the weird feeling aside until the end of the shift.
Until he comes home.
Until he sits in his (quiet, empty) house, a house he plans on selling even though he's never known a place that felt more like home than this, on his couch that suddenly feels too big for just one person, and he thinks back to that night when Buck came to visit him, minutes after Eddie opened the door to a brand new world of light, where freedom and joy replaced guilt and self-loathing. It had all felt so new, so dauntingly full of possibility, so—overwhelming.
November 2024
"Tommy and I broke up," Buck tells him after the movie ends, three empty bottles in front of him and a fourth one, still mostly full, sitting between his thighs.
"Oh," Eddie says, momentarily forgetting his good manners. Then, belatedly, "Sorry."
Buck shrugs. It's not dismissive. He looks over, eyes dark, and Eddie knows it then, with a quiet yet life-changing kind of certainty: If he made a move now, Buck would not turn him down.
He could change everything. In a matter of moments, he could redefine everything they are, and Buck would let him.
He doesn't make a move. Buck was dating Tommy for six months and Eddie… Eddie isn't wearing pants. His face still feels naked, freshly shaven.
They have time, he thinks.
They have time.
It becomes his mantra. They have time, when Buck wants to call Tommy. They have time, when he gets annoyed with Eddie for stealing his phone. They have time, when Buck offers to help Eddie find a place, because that kind of shit takes time. You can't rush it. It's going to be weeks until he finds a house that works for him, maybe even months.
They have time. Until time runs out. They have time, until he finds himself kneeling over Buck on a darkened freeway, covered in blood that isn't his own.
December 2024
All that is going through his head when he sits on too-big couch, just a few days before Christmas. Life may seem endless, sometimes, but nobody has all the time in the world. In the end, that's probably what makes him do it.
"Are you sure you want to go home?"
It's the next day. He's at the hospital, helping Buck pack, when the question slips out. Buck, struggling to put his socks on without popping his stitches, stops what he's doing and turns to look at Eddie, who is fiddling with the cord of Buck's phone charger, weaving it between his fingers.
"Uh," Buck starts, a confused smile dimpling his stubbly cheek, "I—I don't think I've got a choice. Even if I wanted to spend Christmas in the hospital, they kind of need the room."
"No," says Eddie, "look."
He pauses. Buck has no idea what he means. In a way, that little misunderstanding is a blinking exit sign. Eddie could still back out. No harm done, not yet.
Backing out is not an option. They don't have that much time.
He puts the charger in Buck's bag and sits down on the bed. They're at least two feet apart but Buck tracks his every move, and Eddie feels those blue eyes on his skin like a physical touch. They've been here before. Then, Eddie was the one with the bullet wound and Buck was in for a surprise.
"Are you sure you want to go back to the loft?" he elaborates. Buck drags his teeth across his bottom lip, pulls it into his mouth. Eddie doesn't let this distract him. "You just got shot. Might be good to have a medic around."
Buck releases his lip. Slowly, it stretches into a beautiful smile.
"Can't argue with that logic," he says.
Eddie mirrors his smile. It feels like release, like a celebration, like dancing around his living room for the sake of happiness and happiness alone.
Written for the @911countdowntochristmas - this was supposed to be 24 drabbles but the Buddie NDE speculation going around pre 8x08 inspired me and now it’s a 24-mini-chaptered fic instead. And definitely more hurt/comfort than fluff. Oops.
Things l Love About The Joy Ride Movies
• First up, the most obvious — Rusty’s voice. All three movies chose three great actors that are delicious to listen to on and off a CB radio.
• Ken Kirzinger who played Rusty in 3 was Mark Gibbon’s stunt double in 2.
• “How’s my little hussy?” #2 — Had me giggling and kicking my feet.
• “Hey, little girl.” #2 — Rusty makes all the boys his bitches (I may or may not have a fic in mind with Rusty fucking Bobby and a virgin!female!reader together in his barn and then kind of adopts them as his new pets).
• “No rush, no rush.” — #2 I can see him saying this in bed when you get all worked up and need a minute to calm down.
• This interview with Rusty — #2 I turned the brightness up and at some parts you can tell Rusty is smiling and he looks so precious even though he’s talking about killing people.
• The way Rusty’s hands shake when giving Bobby the dice — #2 I imagine that they shake when he gets really excited so it also happens when he’s getting ready to fuck you and he has to grip/hold something to get them to stop.
• “Get wet for me.” — #2 You don’t have to tell me twice, Rusty.
• “Where you at, baby?” #3 — *wheezes* I’M RIGHT HERE
• “I don’t party, little girl.” #3 — Because you’re old and miserable?
• When Rusty moves the hair out of Jewel’s eyes when he’s demanding her to plead on video. #3 — He should have kept her alive so he could have her all to himself. Imagine Rusty stealing not just your car (ironic in itself) but also your girl too.
• “Anyone out there know a Candy Cane?” — #1 This man spent all day looking for someone who stood him up and I can’t be certain if he was mad or not when he was asking for her the second time, but I am pretty sure he fell in love over the radio and my heart can’t take it because it was all a prank. He just wanted to find his Candy Cane :(
• “I’m not sure I’d be what you’d expect.” — #1 He’s so shy and awkward and probably has a praise kink. BUT when he starts getting comfortable enough, he’ll take control and have you coming undone.
• “What room?” #1 — I don’t know if Ted meant to do this or if I am hearing things but it really does sound like Rusty’s voice gets huskier when saying this because he can’t fucking wait to meet Candy Cane alone in a motel room and you damn well know he stood there fiddling with the bag carrying the champagne because he was so nervous.
• Rusty’s hand veins.
• His character as a whole makes the brat in me want to come out. Totally have not pictured myself getting punished by all three Rustys at the same time because Matthew, Mark, and Ken can GET IT.
• All three versions of Rusty are big boys and if you’re into big boys then you would love Rusty Nail. He’d keep you so warm and safe and would kill anyone who looked at you wrong. Literal poster boy for ‘hates everyone except you’.
You adjusted your outfit as the backstage crew bustled about, looking in the vanity mirror. You took a deep breath, trying to block out the frantic orders thrown around in the background, as well as worried words being exchanged between coworkers about how the staging had been very "last minute".
Whenever this happened - staging arrangements being rushed - it made you nervous, so you were determined not to focus on it.
You checked the clock on the wall; the audience had probably finished filing into the stadium by now. You listened closely past the talking of the backstage crew, managing to make out the excited chatter of your fans. This gave you a bit more confidence. Your fans believed in you, and you loved them, so you weren't going to let a little performance anxiety get in the way of giving them an amazing show.
Your assistant tapped you on the shoulder. "Miss Y/n, it's time for your entrance," she said, handing you a microphone.
"Thank you. Do I look okay?" you asked.
"Stunning as usual!" she assured. "Now go out there and break a leg!"
You slipped through the curtain and stepped onstage. The second the crowd took note of your arrival, they erupted into screams and cheers. Immediately, a huge grin appeared on your face. You waved with both hands, and blew a few kisses as you made your way to centre stage.
"Thank you!" you said into your mic. "Thank you all of you for being here. I love and appreciate all of you."
The audience screamed in response.
"Before we begin this performance, one last reminder to stay safe out there in the crowd!" you said. "Alright, let's get started!"
The lights dimmed, the music began, and the crowd erupted into cheers once again. However, not long after you sang your first note, you had the chilling sensation that something was wrong.
You looked up just in time to see one of the light fixtures fall. You jumped out of the way just in time, the spotlight missing you by inches. You landed flat on your back on the floor the same time the spotlight did, both of you going down with a huge thump. You vaguely noted that the wires on the spotlight had ripped, and one of them was tangled around your ankle. It appeared to also be caught in the heel of your boot.
Suddenly, you saw a spark, and before you could even blink, the spark evolved into a full-blown fire. You screamed, attempting to scramble away. However, as soon as you got up, you fell again, and a shooting pain went up your leg. Fuck, you'd forgotten about the wire.
"Somebody call 911!" you yelled.
⌦ -- -- Buck's pov
"Tell us more about this fire, cap?" Buck prompted from where he sat in the backseat of the engine.
"Electrical fire at Lavender Plaza. There was a concert happening-"
"Wait, Lavender Plaza?" Buck exclaimed. "That's where Y/n L/n is performing!" His mouth was open in awe, and he turned to look at his crewmates. "Oh my god, you guys have no idea how much I wanted to go see that concert. I'm actually in love with her," he gushed. "Holy shit, is she okay, though?"
"Yes, the victim's name is Y/n L/n. Apparently, one of the spotlight fixtures fell onstage. It's an electrical fire - not too big, but still enough to be dangerous, especially since Y/n is unable to escape due to a wire around her ankle," Bobby continued.
"Guys, we have to go save her," Buck yelled.
"That's what we're doing right now," Eddie, Hen, and Chimney said in unison.
Buck's eyes grew impossibly wider. "Holy shit, I'm about to meet my celebrity crush!" he exclaimed.
⌦ -- -- y/n's pov
You nearly cried of relief when you heard the sirens approaching. The fire had engulfed most of the stage area opposite you, but luckily, you were in the safe zone for now.
The firefighters jumped into action, literally. You coughed at the CO2 from the fire extinguishers. As soon as the fire was put out, you saw a firefighter leap over the spotlight, landing next to you. You vaguely heard someone reprimand him - "Buck! Be careful!".
The firefighter - Buck, apparently - only gave a thumbs up in response.
"Okay, Y/n," he said, light blue eyes looking down at you in concern. "Don't you worry, I'm gonna get you free."
You nodded. "How do you know my name?"
"Buck over here is a big fan," you heard a voice to your left say. A woman with glasses set down a first aid kit next to you. "I'm Hen. Does it hurt anywhere, honey?"
"Um, I think I broke my leg or something, cause it really hurts."
Hen nodded in acknowledgement.
"Alright," Buck piped up. "It looks like the wire is just caught on your boot, so if we unbuckle this thing, you'll be free."
"Oh my god," you said. "Thank you."
"Hey, you're pretty much Cinderella, now," Buck joked as he finished unbuckling your boot. He held it up. "You know, with the lost shoe and all that."
"Does that make you my prince charming, then?" you teased.
Buck blushed, stammering. Before he coukd get out a response, Hen and another paramedic lifted you onto a gurney, wheeling you away.
⌦ -- --
You were breathing steadily into the oxygen mask, just as Hen had instructed you. Then, you spotted Buck making his way towards where you were currently sitting on your stretcher. He was still clutching your boot.
"Hey," you said. "Thanks again for saving me."
"Hi," Buck breathed. "Is this real?"
"Unfortunately for me, yes," you grumbled, casting a forlorn look at your broken leg. You remembered how your assistant had told you to 'break a leg' earlier. The irony.
"Right, no, of course, I didn't mean it like that! Oh god, I'm so sorry!" he rambled.
"It's okay," you laughed. "You just saved my life, I'm probably gonna love you forever, now."
Buck blushed a deep crimson. "Can I have your autograph?" he asked. "This probably isn't an appropriate time, but I mean, your hands aren't broken or anything, so I figured it'd be fine? If you're fine? If you're fine with it, not if you're fine in general, cause you know, you just broke your leg and everything." he snapped his mouth shut. "I'm gonna stop talking now."
You laughed. Looking at him fondly, you took in his features. His very good looking features, you noted.
"I'd love to give you an autograph," you told him. "I'd even give you a picture, but I'm a mess right now."
"I think you still look great," Buck blurted.
"Thank you," you giggled.
"Hey, if you stop by the hospital later, I'll get you my autograph and a picture. And maybe even dinner, if my prince charming's up for it." You winked.
Hen and another paramedic came to wheel you away. The last glimpse you got of Buck was him still staring ahead, a slightly dazed look in his eye and a smile on his lips.
Yeah, he looked like a prince charming to you.
a/n: okay before you start thinking that reader getting caught in the wire is inaccurate, id like to say that ive been trapped under those big wire rope things before when i was younger, and that shit is HEAVY like no joke
You laid in bed staring at the burst of sunlight sprouting out of your valances. You did not want to get up, or check your phone. It was a rare, quiet Sunday morning and you had no plans besides laundry. Bela had a big event the night before, so you weren’t meeting for brunch, for which you were kind of grateful. It felt like you had been staring at her face all week anyway, as much as you had been scrolling for chatter about her and Dean. You groaned and buried yourself beneath your comforter.
 The outside world could wait for another few minutes, not to mention the constant nagging worry of work could fuck right off.
Because that’s all this anxiety was, work stress. The pressure from the label felt like it weighed solely on your shoulders, despite the band’s extended recording schedule for the new album and everyone’s thinning patience with Dean’s perfectionism. There was nothing else even going on in your life that could even compare. You were probably dehydrated. You shifted to peek out of your covers to find your water bottle empty on your nightstand, oh well.
Eventually, you got up, went about your business, and started a pot of coffee. Resigned to checking your phone while the coffee brewed, you shuffled back to your bedroom to pull it off the charger. Before you could even begin to sort through your text notifications, a headline alert glared at you from your lock screen. Panic flooded your uncaffeinated mind and you clicked on the link.
Tumblr media
Gaping, you scrolled through the short article about the benefit filled with speculation about Dean’s presence at Bela’s side. You backed out of that article and dove into the rest of your updates. The pictures were fantastic, filled with easy smiles and casual touches. Dean in a tux was a rare thing, but he kept up his end of the bargain and dressed to match Bela’s standards. Your brain still stuttered over seeing them together, two parts of your life that hadn’t really overlapped until now. A silent ‘how was I not there?’ popping up as you continued to scroll.
The shrill beeping of the coffee pot pulled your eyes off your phone and back into the kitchen around you. It was just after ten, and you had to stop yourself from texting Dean or Bela an interrogation length message each. For the most part, the publicity seemed positive and more than curious about these two from such different worlds.
Was it actually working?!
You inhaled and finally poured yourself a mug, letting the hope fizzle in your chest as you sat down at your desk and really began to dig. Sometime after one, you were pulled out of your email inbox by the doorbell. Who in the hell? Dumbfounded, you threw on a hoodie as you rushed to answer the door. You had to kick the rug because it always folded on itself underneath the lip of the door. Grunting, you gave up, sticking your head out to answer a disinterested floral delivery driver.
“Uh, I’ve got flowers for Ms. Y/L/N?” They checked their tablet.
“That’s me,” you said, straightening up to look at the bundled bouquet as they handed you the stylus to sign confirmation of the delivery. You had no idea who would be sending you flowers, and it definitely wasn’t your birthday.
“Alright, that’s all I need. Here ya go,” they said, presenting the vase to you with the practiced ease of a single balanced hand. “Have a good one.”
You took the flowers, which you could smell through the paper barrier and watched them get back into their truck and back out of the narrow driveway that no one ever used. Confused, you set the package down on your kitchen table and started to tear out the perfectly spaced staples. They were gorgeous, lilies in whites and oranges. Tucked into the ribbon tied around the vase was a handwritten card.
Keep up the good work. Regards, Crowley
“You’ve got to be freakin’ kidding me!” you balked. You checked the back of the card, there was no ‘gotcha’, it really was from the label exec. You set the card down face up, resting beside the vase and snapped a picture. No one was going to believe you, you needed the proof, right?
You told yourself it wasn’t bragging, no matter how smug it made you feel.
Tumblr media
 The adoption event was something the band did every year, helping Annie (and now Madison, too) with a pre-holiday push to clear out the animal shelter and also spend time with adorable animals. Sam was in heaven, taking dogs through the yard, parading the dogs along the side of the building in the makeshift track, and running around with the excitable pups. Madison mained the welcome table while Annie oversaw a lot of the paperwork inside, helping people get approved and matched with pets that would fit each prospective adopter’s lifestyles and hopes.
The staff knew everyone by reputation, though Sam had been a regular volunteer since before Madison had even been hired on as a receptionist. So, they helped you all get eased into your rolls for the day, however informal they were. Lee brought Gibson along and they were making small talk with a family as the mother filled out forms. Kevin, new to the event, stood back and waited to be told what to do. Bobby kept the breakroom and the waiting room stocked with coffee and pastries. Though Dean’s allergies and his unwillingness to budge on his no pets rule with Sam meant he always bowed out, you knew he was a regular not-so-anonymous donor.
Which left you and Pamela in the cat room, playing with a litter of kittens that were too young to be adopted out this round, but were all the more frisky with all the excitement buzzing around the shelter.
“Oh my god, hello, tough stuff! Aren’t you the biter?!” Pamela cooed at a gray tiger who was overly fond of her jewelry.
“No fiercer a predator was there ever,” you agreed, dangling a stick with feathers on the end in front of its sleeker, paler littermate.
After a few minutes Pamela leaned back and let the kitten attempt to scale her lap. “God, I needed this. This album— fuck, it’s been brutal,” she sighed.
Worry clouded your thoughts, but you knew better than to ever say the first thing that came to your mind around Pamela, she always read between the lines.
“Everything going okay?” you asked, hearing about the sessions from Dean was one thing. He may be the lead singer, but he really was only one dude in a band of five differing personalities.
Pamela huffed and tilted her head, you felt like she was measuring your capacity for the truth. “The sound is good. We’re meshing. It’s just— since Cas leaving for that ephemeral crap or whatever that pipsqueak is calling it— Dean’s been on edge about every fucking thing. And Lee’s offered to help, hell he’s got a half dozen songs ready to go, but—”
“Dean feels like he has to do it all himself,” you finished for her.
“And he’s being a complete martyr about it.”
You nestled a kitten against your chest and hummed, ruffling its ears as you thought. You hadn’t really talked to Dean all week, after all the publicity you had to sift through after Bela’s event and trying to line things up with Meg at Rolling Stone, finally. You couldn’t have known any of this, since you were so separate from that part of the process.
“And no offense, but this friend of yours? Was it really the best timing? He’s just getting his groove back— he doesn’t need more distractions,” Pamela tacked on in her no-nonsense way.
You couldn’t stop your eyebrows from raising in surprise, because this was coming from the woman who had married and divorced her bandmate multiple times. But Lee wasn’t Dean, and you knew they still played their parts despite whatever was going on at home. The band came first, well, after Gibson.
You told yourself it was Sam that agreed it was best to keep it from the band, the extra pressure you had inadvertently put on Dean. You knew you had to toe that line.
“Dean’s a big boy, Pamela. If you think he needs to loosen up, you gotta tell him. He listens to you more than anybody, probably even Sam. Especially when it comes to music stuff. Bela and him— that’s his business. I’m not even sure how serious it is, as much as I love them both—.”
Pamela chuckled, breaking your momentum, but you pushed on.
“I’m staying a neutral party. I can’t really play matchmaker and then question if it’s a good idea. They can make their own choices.”
Another kitten crawled into your lap and you set the one you had been holding down next to it, so they could play. You felt Pamela watching you with her knowing eyes and from experience you knew she was going to continue to throw you for a loop with whatever she said next.
“Now who’s playing the martyr?”
You sighed and looked back at her, and luckily it seemed like she was at least teasing and not being snide. One of the kitten’s claws dug through your jeans and you yelped, pulling it off of your thigh. You stood to put it back in the crate with the rest of the litter.
“Just talk to him, he’ll let Lee get a song down, I can almost guarantee it.”
You gazed down at the innocent fur balls and wished your life held more silly little pleasures than it did. But you knew you didn’t deserve it, deep down.
You dragged out your phone and snapped some pictures of the kittens, then held it up to Pamela in question. She nodded and snuggled her kitten against her cheek, scrunching up her face for the shelter website. You’d send all of your shots to Annie later, let her pick and choose how to celebrate the event and advertise for next year.
Throughout the day, you got plenty of shots of the band with animals and the workers sending happy families off with new fur members. The day was winding down, but you stuck around to help anyway you could. You wiped down the breakroom table as Sam hauled the last of the pastries out to Bobby’s truck to bring home for Dean and to the studio if they lasted until Monday.
You tried not to pay attention when two of the younger staff members came in muttering, the blonde girl making the brunette openly gape.
“No way! Grossssssssss.”
“Shut up, she’s still got it, for her age.”
The brunette sighed and shook her head. “Sure, I guess, but didn’t she like set them up?”
The blonde shook her head. “I don’t think so, he was just here a lot when his brother was being a dick, and then Madison and him like bonded over shit.”
After that you couldn’t help but listen, because they were obviously talking about Sam.
“Besides the thing with Annie was like forever ago, she’s been married for like three years or something and Madison just started here over the summer,” the blonde seemed unfazed by the amount of gossip she was conveying.
“I guess I just didn’t think about how well everyone knows each other.”
“That’s one way of putting it,” the blonde smirked.
Lee chose that moment to come into the breakroom with Gibson thrown over his shoulder, but the crook in his eyebrow told you he knew the college kids were being snarky. “Hey, Trouble, you ready to go? Little man here said his Uncle Dean told him everybody could come over for grub.”
The girls seemed to freeze in place, having not noticed your presence. You looked around the room, checking to see if it was cleaned up enough to call it a day. “Uh–”
You had no reason to bail on the band, but you had been looking forward to a night alone at your place. As lame as that seemed for a Saturday night, something was telling you that you’d make an idiot of yourself if you were left alone in Dean’s presence, or even Sam’s after the juicy details you’d just heard.
“I’ve actually got to get home and start sorting through the photos, but thanks for the offer.”
Lee’s face changed, bright eyes squinting in suspicion, but Gibson started to struggle. “You sure?” he asked, flipping his son over in front of him so he was back on his feet facing you, a giggling, miniature version of himself standing guard.
You looked down at the six-year-old and couldn’t help but grin. “Buddy, will you tell your Uncle Dean that I’m busy working and I’ll see him later?”
Gibson nodded excitedly, showing off the gap where he’d lost a tooth, and gave you the thumbs up, happy to play messenger for his favorite uncle.
 Lee spun towards the door, guiding Gibson at his side, “I guess that means it’s just us in the car cuz Mom’s already headed out. Later, Trouble!”
You shook your head at the adorableness and pulled out your phone to order a ride. Sometimes it was a real pain not driving by yourself, but you made your peace with never getting behind a wheel again long ago.
Elvis and Donnie Sumner. C. 1972.
RECORDING SESSION Studio Sessions for RCA December 10–16, 1973: Stax Studios, Memphis The group Voice was becoming a permanent fixture on the Elvis scene. Their deal with the singer included a publishing arrangement, and accordingly they brought songs — their own and those of their friends — to the session. Lamar Fike, watching his territory being encroached upon by the newcomers, was irked. “Who wrote this piece of shit?” Lamar gasped while Elvis was recording a Donnie Sumner tune, “Mr. Songman,” as unadventurous in its way as anything from Freddy Bienstock’s stable of English writers. But Elvis stuck with his new friends (and to the Colonel’s design to increase publishing income), even going to the length of releasing “Mr. Songman” as the B-side of a single. Excerpt: "Elvis Presley, A Life in Music: The Complete Recording Sessions" by Ernst Jorgensen. Foreword by Peter Guralnick (1998)
I have so many thoughts about this episode and I can't even put them in order, but anyway.
First,
Can we talk about how significant it is that Madney's relationship is as open and transparent as it is now compared to when they started? The fact that they want to have another child and that they've talked about their feelings, and that they've actually talked about Maddie's postpartum depression, they're an amazing couple, but it's also kind of terrifying. Everything in their romance needed chaos before the calm and a new child comes along, adopted or not? What could that lead to? Nothing permanently bad, since it's the last season, but still. There's a lot of exploration to be had, in terms of his fears and how they both have complicated relationships with siblings and family. Chim having Kevin, Albert (and I like to think, Ravi) and losing one of them, starting out chaotic with Albert and almost losing him. Maddie and her "I've got your back" relationship with Buck, plus those years when she was with Doug and he thought she was dead. Will this affect raising two kids or am I overthinking it?
Second,
The priest and Eddie. I confess that I shipped them for a moment during the juice scene. I found the part where Eddie thought the priest was hitting on him a bit funny, the whole "I'm straight - I'm celibate" thing, first because you're not straight Eddie (I hope), second because it really seemed like he was going to be hit on. I cried, for real, when he was talking to the priest and thinking he shouldn't be forgiven. "And you had parents who loved you?" No. Can we go over how Eddie's parents are overcompensating with Chris trying to keep him for the things they didn't do to Eddie? Like they supposed to be real parents? And how did Eddie seem to not even notice that? At least, in my opinion. The confession scene, him calling Buck his best friend. I wonder if the priest came all Bobby on Eddie. I wonder if he'll show up again and if so, why and for what? Acceptance of sexuality? Reassurance that real religion doesn't condemn homosexuality? Or reassurance that God wanted Eddie to be happy the way he is? Because I hope he ends the series happy, with or without Buddie.
Third,
Tommy being Abby's Tommy. This one is short, but I loved ABC for actually doing this, even though it led to what it did, even though it seemed inevitable what happened to them. Like, he got engaged to Abby, who is Buck's ex, and the relationship that made him a really better person, the relationship that made Tommy feel oppressed and then free. You could basically say that she shaped both of them into who they are so that they could find each other and end up like she ended up with them? Alone, single.
Fourth,
Their breakup. I loved that despite the gender difference, Buck continued to be the same in the sense of rushing things. 6 months and he invited him to move in with him. And everything went downhill from there. And don't get me wrong, I know this could lead to buddie, but can we focus on how this could have been better used? Like Tommy or not, but he was Buck's first guy, first kiss, first date, first crush, first time (?), everything that could have been more presented and shown to the audience. It fits the aesthetic of the show that they ended it that way and that this is technically Buck's most amicable breakup under a good relationship of his (except, probably, Alli or Abby) but still.
Fifth,
The basketball tickets. A small point, probably, but the plan was for them to go together. Think about how Tommy got basketball tickets and the only time Buck really went through with it was because of jealousy, and how he doesn't like it. So they broke up, and who do you think he's going to invite or give the tickets to? Eddie. So it's going to be a date, because I bet Buck is going to think about how if they hadn't broken up he'd be there with Tommy but no, he's there with Eddie and it's going to be like poker night but with something extra, even if it doesn't lead to buddy and more to post-breakup angst.
Sixth,
Appreciation to Josh because he's awesome. Ironic that he gave that advice and was sweet, but it didn't do any good because Tommy seems to be afraid of commitment to Buck or not as passionate about it.
Seventh, Tommy and his relationship with Buck being superficial. I may have misunderstood, because besides English not being my first language there were no subtitles, but it seemed so easy how he let their relationship end because it was moving too fast and because "I'm your first guy, not your last" and how he didn't fight for it? It wasn't an obligation, but shouldn't you at least try to be with the one you like or love? I like Tommy, yes, and I like them together, and how cute they were and it was all healthy and patient and then it wasn't anymore? because Buck rushed and Tommy backed off and "are you breaking up with me? - yeah, I guess I am"
Eighth,
Eddie's happiness. I liked his mustache, but I liked the representation that by getting rid of it he would be able to look at himself in the mirror without looking away because it also means that he is starting to heal from the mistakes he has made. That scene of him dancing was so free, spontaneous and out of character compared to the trauma thing and how closed off he may seem, but no, he is just a single father full of trauma who deserves happiness and is starting to realize that again. I thought it was a great reference to Step Up and that shirt of his reminded me of the outfit he wore to Maddie's wedding. When I saw that scene, I just thought Buck was going to visit him about the breakup and I was right. The point is, I missed Eddie's smile and how he looked really good for the first time in a while. Because season three happened, then season four, and then season five came along and it was trauma after trauma and even with therapy there was something missing that I want to heal. He, with his son, the people he loves, his real family (his overprotective mom and dad from the team, his smart older sister, his sarcastic younger brother because in this scenario there is his best friend who is not a brother, because I see the romantic sense, but if he didn't exist he would be the youngest) and the happiness he deserves.
Nine, Mostly it's just a reminder of how Eddie was smiling, in his underwear and a dress shirt, dancing (and looking really hot Ryan) and then Buck shows up looking devastated and he just accepts the beer and leaves them to sit in silence on the couch and then the end. They are, before possible lovers, best friends, soulmates. Because the first person Buck goes to is him (and Maddie, obviously, we never forget her) and when Eddie doesn't know what to do he goes to Buck and how they both can't lie to each other. And how they trust each other and what greater example of a slow burn do we have than that (Destiel walked so Buddie could run)? That Eddie trusts his soul and life (Chris) with Buck more than anyone else and Buck knows it? You may not ship it, but you can't deny that they are soulmates.
Tenth,
The guy sneezed and his guts came out? Holy shit. The woman just had the guy's mother's ashes in her hands. I love It.
Eleventh,
We start with a recreation of the well scene where everything ended well (and I need to look for fanfics later with a scenario where Eddie has a flashback) and without any more trauma for the firefighters because we know those kids are going to need at least some therapy. So the preview for the next episode being a firefighter stuck on a ladder the same way Buck was? Is that a sign? Reliving the protagonists' traumas for some reason and getting over it. Either it's character development in some way I can't quite place or forcing them to acknowledge the times they almost lost each other, but then we need a lot more episodes with the times those idiot kids almost died. But seriously, that has to mean something, right?
Twelfth,
When and how will Chris return? And where are Ravi and May?
ABC, love you
Paintbrushes And Romance 🥰🐞 - Part 10
Dean x Fem/Reader
Part 10🥰🐞
A/N: Are we getting closer to the grand finale?! - Also side note - I've made a Spotify playlist, with all the songs of this series, I'll add the link... Much love, my bugsies 🥰🐞... Also can I just give thanks too my brother for helping me remember about 'Bobby' 😋
Warnings: violence, horror, cold, swearing, gore, blood,🙈
...
The raindrops is glistening against the window, cathing the street lights and throwing a rainbow of colours against the dark wall. Reaching over, searching, for your body, to pull you closer, hold you tightly, you get cold so easily, trying to reach a little further, a intense shooting pain in his chest, eyes flying open, confused and in a daze he looks around, its not your bedroom its a hospital room. What the hell! Dean look's to his upper torso, remembering, the look in Jack's face when he pulled the trigger. All of the sudden this amount of fear rushes over him, the message, you! He recites your name like its a prayer. Pulling the blankets off of him, he swung he's legs of the bed, standing up, just to crash down to the ground.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Frustration clear on his face, pulling out the IV out of his arm, and tugging at the other cables. The sound of the monitors flatlining is enough to alarm the night shift staff that, there's a code blue.
He pushes, himself up, steadying himself with one hand on the bedrail, walking towards the bedside table, he needs to get out of this hospital gown. He's legs feels heavy, and his chest tight, his breath a little restricted as he's ribcage feels like its been cracked. He pushes through the pain, almost there, he bite's his lower lip.
The staff comes running in, ready to resuscitate him again. To their surprise the large man with his broad shoulders is standing. The one nurse, tells the other one, go get his brother. She comes closer towards him, speaking in a calm voice she tells him to get back in bed.
He's emerald green eyes, turning a darker shade, almost hazel like. When he says , the hell I am! His voice filled with pain and more gruffy than usual. Being the stubborn man he is, opening the drawer, searching for clothing, noticing the chain with the diamond ring, taking it out, and sliding it over his head, so that it can be close to his heart again.
Sam run's towards his brother, man your awake he says, hugging him tightly. Dean now only balancing himself in this brotherly hug, he starts to speak, in a low voice, have you found her, where is she?
Sam's voice filled with regret and sadness. Not yet!
Dean's voice breaking, all he can get out is a heartbreaking no! While his legs gives in.
Sam's holding his brother up, his body feeling heavy, Sam, sits Dean down on the bed, gesturing him to take a few moments. You need to build up your strength man, Sam says with a concerned voice.
The hell she must be going through, Sam, Dean's voice is filled with pain and exhaustion. How long, has it been he asks, not really wanting to hear the reply, he looks at Sam searching his eyes.
Biting his lip, its been seven man, we haven't found any evidence, of where she could be, the deputy's took a look at the butcheries that you guys raided the last time, but not a single trace!
Tumblr media
Anger and concern flashes in those green eyes, useless bastard's, he shouts.
Sam just looks at Dean, not really knowing what to say, just saying in a low voice, we'll get her, but first you need to get your rest, seeing Dean's about to resist his suggestion, he says even if its just for tonight, we can figure something out in the morning.
Seeing Sam's nodding for the nurse, and feeling the pinch of the needle prickling his skin, hearing her say, there you go, you'll start to feel calmer in a few minutes.
Sam, helps the nurse, to adjust Dean onto the hospital bed. Dean's eyes started to feel heavy, whispering your name, over and over again, till he's eyes are shut completely.
...
The last thing Luke said, was look what you made me do, while dragging you into the middle of the cage, you heard the steel door close.
Excruciating pain, that pulses through your upper thigh, awakens you abruptly. What, the hell? You see, Luke hunching over another man, in the cage, fix her, he shouted angrily.
Tumblr media
The voice of the old man, sounded tired but familiar, when he said se needs a doctor. You open your eyes wider, you gasped for air, when you see its Bobby, you'll recognise that ball cap anywhere, the fire in your voice makes, both men turn around and look at you, leave him alone Luke!
Ha! Fix her! This isn't over. He shoves the old man closer to your side. I'll get the supplies, don't try shit! Or I will start taking her limbs apart right now, he says while looking at Bobby.
Bobby, shuffle's closer to you, he's voice breaking, my sweet girl, I'm so sorry, I didn't know he had you too.
Your eyes as big as sources, me too? He had you all this time aswell? Bobby just nods, the damn bastard took me by surprise.
He came to the scrapyard, looking for parts, when I turned the, damn idjit hit me behind the head, I were tied up in a cage like this one, for about eight days. When he came rushing in, claiming you needed help.
You look at him, the old man's face a bloodied mess, I'm so sorry, your voice revealing the pain your in.
He's eyes filled with concern when he said we have to stop the bleeding aswell as the infection but its going to hurt babygirl.
It's okay, you said, trying to put up a brave face. I.. uhmm... Do you know about Dean?
Bobby let's out a sigh, I do, with sadness in his deep voice.
They get interrupted by Luke handing Bobby a lighter and a open bullet casing filled with gun powder.
Tumblr media
Luke comes closer to you, knife in his hand, distorted look in his eyes, he takes ahold of your pants cutting the fabric exposing the open wound. Taking off he's belt, saying with a emotionless voice, you're going have to bite down on that. Ready old man? Bobby's eyes shoots up at you, with concern.
You just nod trying to make your voice stronger than you feel, I'll be alright you say, not fully grapshing the pain your about to experience.
You bite down on the belt, Bobby's one hand on your leg holding it in place, and the free hand tapping the powder over the open wound, you hear Bobby telling Luke to hold you still.
Luke takes ahold of your shoulders pushing you firmly against the bars. You moan a bit, it stings you think.
You hear the flicking of the lighter switch, Bobby bringing it closer to the open wound.
It sounded sort of, like the 4th of July fireworks that got lit up.
Your screams bouncing off the factory walls, between the screams and shaking, you can hear Bobby saying something, but nothing makes sense, it burns like hell! You feel the pain immersing throughout your body, and then complete darkness.
....
Morning came and Sam walked in with coffee, only to see Dean already dressed, Sam opened his mouth to say something, but Dean put a stop to it, saying I don't want to hear it, the way I see it is you've got two choices, either you help me, or leave me the hell alone, but I'm walking out of hear today, and I don't have the freaking energy to fight you too. Sam handed him his coffee without saying a word, he just nodded, they proceeded to get everything, packed. Walking towards the exit, Dean glimpses over his shoulder, back to the hospital hallway, thanking whoever is above for waking him up, so that he can save the one, he loves more than life itself.
.....
Your eyes starts to slowly open, the rays of the sun, and the birds chirping let you know its morning. The moaning sounds that escapes your lips, when you try to sit in an upright position, let's Bobby know your awake.
"Hey sweetheart, here, have some water, are you okay? How do you feel?"
You take the bottle of water, taking a few sips and quenching the thirst you had. Thank you, Bobby, saying while smiling, still tired and groggy.
"Your going to feel like shit for a while, you lost a lot of blood, and your body suffered a big trauma, his face with concern, his voice low and deep with outlined exhaustion.
Hey, Bobby, Don't look so worried, your girl's though, a little laugh escaping your lips.
I know sweetie, but, I'm tired, he runs his hand over he's face.
I know, me too, but we are two against one, we can overpower him and run, saying with hopefulness in your voice.
Bobby gets up form his sitting position, how? You can barely stand, and as for me , I don't have the strength in me anymore.
Don't say that Bobby! Your voice sounded more angry than you anticipated! We have eachother and we will get through this together.
Walking towards you, sitting down next to you, your right sweetheart, I'm sorry, I'm just exhausted.
I know, I understand, but I won't stop fighting till my last breath. While lying your head on his chest, you saying in a low, painful voice, Bobby, I'll keep fighting, but I'm scarred... Scarred where not going to make it out of here, Scarred that he would win, silently sobbing now, I'm just scared.
"I know sweetie, he says, with despair. The two of you, just sit there, holding on to eachother for dear life.
....
Its been three days since Dean started his search, but still nothing, where the hell did the bastard take her, and where the hell is Bobby? Damnit! He hits the table, the papers getting tossed up in the air, he moans a little, when he feels the sting of the not fully recovered wound in his chest.
That's it! I'm going to see Jack! He says to no one really. Taking his keys, and jacket he walks out of his house, whispering underneath his breath if only you could return to me darling.
"Sam made sure, Jack would be locked up for what he's done. Jack's sitting in the cold room with only a table, and a one way mirror, knowing someone is probably behind it watching him, his face fills with surprise, shock and guilt, when he sees the large man enters through the door. Sheriff he exclaimed! I'm... He strutters.
Dean's voice sounded urgent and heavy. Stop! I know why you did what you did, hell maybe I would've done the same, but I'm not here for that! I need to know, have you seen the bastard, can you describe him, do you know anything damnit?
Jack flinching at the anger in his voice, yes he says, with regret visible. When I handed him the file, we met up at an abandoned road, outside of town, he drove a yellow car, almost like a cab!
What the hell! Dean basically screaming now, and you didn't think of telling anyone, what file damnit, speak up!
"I.. um.., Jack stutters" Dean looking him dead in the eyes, he's voice loud and full of anger speak damnit. "It's the file of the kidnapped girl, of ten years ago, Jack's says shakily.
Dean kicks the chair, it's all connected somehow, he's anger rolls over his lips. Looking at Jack, describe him now!
"He's in his late 30's maybe early 40's ordinary looking, I'm so sorry I was worried about Julie, I didn't really take everything in, he says apologetically.
Damnit Jack! Dean says running his hand over his face. Moving the chair away from the door, walking through it, he can hear Jack's mumbling something, but he doesn't care for the first damn time he's gotten some hope that, he could find the bastard.
After searching through the database, for what felt like hours, Dean had it figured out, Luke Fisher, is a registered cab driver, and the brother of the late Mike Fisher. This is all about revenge Sammy he says, while leaving a voicemail, he must be in court.
The black chevy impala, is parked a little across the street, he checked with the taxi services, Luke is working today, Dean just sat there waiting for him to clock out for the day, knowing he'd go right back to were he kept you, he waited patiently.
Tumblr media
There he is, Luke gets out of the cab, walking towards the office, after a while he comes back, that's when he saw it, Luke's face was bruised, a little smile tugging at Dean's lips my girls a fighter he thinks. He starts the impala, when he sees Luke driving off, tailing him, saying "I'm coming baby, hold on, I'm coming...
dream sweet of me | 16k buddie fic | ao3 link
birthday fic for the lovely @alyxmastershipper ❤️❤️❤️
[buck is in an accident and wakes up in a universe where the 118 don't know who he is]
He stumbles forward, knees weak, and crashes into the entrance of the bay doors. He holds tight to the doorway, keeping himself from collapsing to the ground. He’s here. He made it back home. He closes his eyes as the sweet smell of sugar, warmed by cinnamon hits his nose. Bobby’s famous french toast casserole. There’s chatter wafting over the banister and Buck follows the sound. He can hear Hen’s laugh and Chimney’s snicker. Bobby’s quiet humming and even an exasperated sigh from Ravi.  He’s home he’s home he’s home “Hey,” he tries to call up to them as he moves further into the firehouse, “it’s me!” A few of the faces he recognizes from A shift stop what they’re doing, looking at him with wide eyes. Buck ignores them in favor of where his family is waiting for him.  “You okay?” Buck freezes, heart jumping right up to his throat. He turns a little too quickly, nearly knocking him off balance before a hand shoots out, wrapping around his bicep to steady him. Buck blinks up at Eddie and all the fight bleeds out of him as he throws himself into Eddie’s arms “Oh god,” he wheezes as he chokes back a sob, “Eddie, I—I’m so sorry!” He feels Eddie’s hands — strong, steady, and warm — wrap around him before he is unceremoniously shoved backwards. Buck feels all the air punch out of his lungs when his back hits the firetruck.  “Who the hell are you?”  Buck’s mouth falls open as he looks at Eddie. As he looks at the person that knows him better than anyone else in the world. The person that he loves with every fiber of his being. He looks at Eddie and realizes that Eddie has no idea who he is.  Something sharp cuts Buck right through the middle, splintering his ribs and slashing all his vital organs. He can’t stop the hot rush of tears as he reaches out a shaking hand. “Eds,” he says, taking a step forward and flinching when Eddie takes a step back, “it’s me.” “I don’t know who you are.” Eddie says, brown eyes hard and clouded with confusion.
