A wayward hand rises to take the Armourer’s wrist, a gentle grip guiding it back up slightly to meet the curve of her breast. Even through the metal, the touch is enough to send her heart racing.

“Oh, but you see,” Bo-Katan purrs, her voice sultry and coaxing, “there’s something that it can’t protect me from. No matter what I do, there’s this heat that I keep feeling, and when I’m around you, this armour doesn’t stop it one bit.”

Bo-Katan’s cheeks burn at her own words, prickling with what must be a rich blush. She’s never had the opportunity to speak like this, to arm herself with desire for a willing target. It’s intoxicating, a power that surpasses what the throne could ever give her, and it only serves to enkindle her more when she hears the faint echo of the Armourer’s breaths growing deeper.

“Curious,” the Armourer notes quietly; her hand remains fixed on the curve of her armour, but her thumb gently traces the outline of an old scratch in the grey paint. “I’ve faced similar afflictions.”

I think it’s interesting that the Bo-Katan/Armorer dynamic I see in fanworks a lot, when the Armorer is the one being bossy, is Bo-Katan protesting or “fighting back” against her taking the lead, being feisty in their dynamic.That is a large part of her personality in general, for sure, but  NOT with the Armorer. She generally lets the Armorer take the lead in the show, she’s respectful, even shy, certainly more vulnerable and honest than we ever see her with anyone else.

When the Armorer says “take off your helmet” Bo-Katan protests, but it’s a small, hesitant “but-”, she worries about what the request means because it matters to her what the Armorer thinks, it matters whether or not this is a test of her resolve to follow the creed or even a dismissal of her belonging with the covert altogether. Then the Armorer essentially goes “do you trust me?” and Bo-Katan decides that, yes, she does. She respects the Armorer’s station and she wants to meet her expectations, so she obeys without a fuss.

She also trusts her with the secret of the mythosaur, opening herself up to everything from ridicule to angry dismissal, but trusting the Armorer enough to at least try to offer an unlikely truth.

A large part of what I love about their relationship is that trust. Bo-Katan trusts Din to have her back in a bind and that’s what he reaffirms in his chivalrous declaration to her, a lovely culmination of their adversarial beginnings, but she trusts the Armorer with her personal vulnerabilities; her spiritual uncertainty, and I love that BECAUSE they’re both so powerful.

Bo-Katan hasn’t been one of the most lesbian coded star wars characters for her to get shipped with Din.

It's hard enough to get lesbian representation in Star Wars rn as it is, please let us have this crumb of representation.

SUMMARY: Bo-Katan has nothing left. Her tribe abandoned her, Imperials bombed the last place she called home, and she can't bring herself to fight Din for the Darksaber. Accidentally joining a cult wasn't the answer to her problems that she had in mind, but it was better than being alone. What she really didn't expect, was to form a fast bond with the mysterious leader of said cult.
