hey! im not sure if you’ve ever talked about this pairing deep in specific so if you have i apologize 😭 but do you have any thoughts on how butch and blossom would work together as a romantic pairing?? or even just as a general relationship 😲

I've talked about this a little bit but not extensively, probably about an eon ago, so there's no need to apologize, lol.

To me, they'd be a power couple, but not in a way that would grow their characters. They'd fall into a typical red-green behavior in the two trios where red is the brains and green is the brawns. However, where Buttercup typically butts heads with Blossom, Butch wouldn't because Blossom's nicer than Brick and, therefore, easier to please, which feeds his ego.

((You should know that in my h/c, Butch's relationship with Brick is extremely co-dependent, and he's very compliant with Brick's demands. Most of my ideas for him center around his independence from Brick & Boomer (to a lesser extent)))

Blossom would snap her fingers, and Butch would get it done. Romantically, this makes for a good smut book lol (nice girl v. bad boy/all those possessive tropes/dramatic relationship moments).

Generally, though, I don't think they'd grow as characters unless outside influences force them to. Blossom needs someone to knock her down a peg or two, not an obedient hellhound (even if he grumbles about being put to work), and Butch needs someone to tell him . . . he's not an obedient hellhound. Basically, Blossom and Butch would work very well together in a professional setting and likely (if Butch went good or Blossom went bad) have a loyal relationship with each other ((I think they'd have a lot in common socially)), but in my head, they're doomed to the same stereotypical tropes of their characters.

Like I said, it could be very spicy and compelling, but it's still sugar-coated sadness. It would be too easy for both of them to ignore their own internal conflicts and do what's comfortable, and that's being change-adverse. Butch would have both Brick and nicer-Brick, and Blossom would have both Buttercup and Obidenent-Buttercup. And everyone knows you can't have your cake and eat it too.

I would like to stress that I love this pairing. Saying they'd be semi-toxic with each other is NOT saying I'm anti-this ship. I just need their romantic relationship arc to be a little tragic.

But please, anon, let me know your thoughts! Maybe you have a more interesting take :)

A very merry hello specifically to the Boomercup shippers that support trans hcs <3 first chapter is up and I know it’s a touch iffy given I haven’t edited it yet. It’s here though!!

This will eventually have trans masc Buttercup and nb Boomer (he/she/they or just she/they, haven’t decided yet), and as soon as the rest are introduced there’s trans fem Butch, lesbian Blossom, unidentified Bubbles, and bi king Brick bc I said so.

Eventual Butchossom (Blossutch???????) and Brickubbles, I’m also likely gonna draw trans Butch and BC refs when I get the chance to differentiate the two :] I’m also gonna probably come up w my own names for the ships for funzies. Anyway I hope this is ok for now <3
