Secrets upon Secrets
Pairing: Blossutch (PPG)
Rating: G
authors note: ...........star...where have you been? honestly idk. these past few years of writing have been hard. not cause I don't like to write, but the passion or drive isn't as strong. I want it to be. So I whipped this up and thought "this is good enough, why not?" Oh how I miss that mentality of posting without thinking. Anyways, no one cares lol. I hope you enjoy some Blossutch. I wrote their dynamic in a new way, maybe a more realistic way? idk. I wrote this and I hope you like it for the 12 blossutch Stans lmao.
-------
The wind blew through her hair calmly. The sky was a place of peace for her. So few could reach her. It held truths that most kept secret. She could see and sense it all.
Her secret place was a cliff near the beach. On the outskirts of town, you could see the skyscrapers dance across the water. She knew where her house laid across the lake but it was nice not being able to see it from this view.
She had been coming her since she was a teen, maybe since middle school. Not even her sisters knew about it, but she was okay with that. She was okay knowing that her sisters probably had secret spots too.
Sometimes she wondered how many secrets they kept from each other. Some would find it odd for a trio to be so close, yet kept a distance. Blossom didn't mind. She was a realist after all.
There had to be balance and she enjoyed that her sisters had their secrets because that meant that they felt human. It meant that they felt deeply and loved things greatly so that only they could find them.
She couldn't blame them for having secrets. She'd be a hypocrite. She may be many things, but that was not something she tried to be.
Secrets. How tempting they could be. She didn't have many, but the ones she kept were darker than what most would expect. She also didn't voice them. If they stayed in her mind then that meant they could be falsities within her.
Speaking it out loud....that meant it was real.
So thats why her lips stayed sealed as she looked across the lake to the city. A city that she vowed to protect. A city that she called home. A city that she loved.
As she stared at the buildings, she would never admit how they would morph in her vision. That the windows would turn and twist into barded wire. How the houses looked more like bricks in a prison courtyard, and how they felt cold even during the day.
The folder in her mind of how she view Townsville was classified. How her childhood was some sort of experiment of creating perfection and how far you could test someone before they failed.
She would never tell her sisters how the city suffocated her and how for a moment, she would give it all away.
Someone had once told her that you have three options in life. Run, accept defeat, or die. There was no living or surviving. She didn't believe it at first, but now she's uncertain.
With deadly thoughts come deadly actions. She would save her city over and over again. She would smile at the statue they built of her and her sisters. Her life was seeming to be more like a myth. Each passage confusion the one before and for a second she wasn't sure if they were worshiping her or if the fire would start with her stone.
Vices. Thats what see needed. Something to look at when the city turns to cages in her mind. She tried it all. Cigarettes. Alcohol. Weed. Her body, the chemical x, it didn't allow for any substance to truly effect her in any way like a normal person.
Blossom didn't mind though. She didn't need artificial things to corrupt her system.
She had something better.
Something real.
Something honest.
Something truly secretive.
Something, that was only hers.
"Hey Bloss."
The voice called from behind her. His voice melting her soul and bringing her back to reality. She could hear his foot steps approaching before the space next to her became engulfed in a scent of pine and smoke.
It was intoxicating.
His arm brushed against hers as he sat down. His foot propped up as he lean on it and tried to get her to meet his eyes.
His eyes. Thats where she fell short every time.
She understood Gatsby now. The green light on the horizon that constantly tempted you. It used to blink across the lake but now, it was right in front of her.
Her lips turned up into a smile as his fingers brushed a piece of hair behind her ear.
"Hi Butch." She whispered.
He smiled and leaned forward to capture her lips. It was soft and sweet. Something most would never associate with him, but thats all she could ever use to describe him.
She knew that his actions had leaned towards something less than good. She tried to reason with her mind. She tried to tell herself that he was bad for her but no matter what, she always ran towards his light.
Robbing banks, stealing precious artifacts and testing the laws, thats what he knew. Selfishly, she only cared if her heart would make it out alive.
How could it not? His gaze was fixated on her even if he didn't think she noticed. His words were soft and kind. Her stomach fluttered with the thought of him being near.
Stolen glances during battles with their siblings were some how her favorite. The cat and mouse game they had played for years that ended once behind an abandon building where she had seen stars greater than the ones in the sky.
How could someone be so bad when they held her secret with gentle hands?
Life wasn't fair. The boys never grew out of their devilish habits even though she tried to change them. Old habits were hard to break, maybe thats why there's a bow in her hair at twenty-three. She didn't try hard to break his habits though.
If she were honest, she would say that she preferred him to be...bad. It felt rebellious to have a shady make out session or to see his gaze hover on her for far too long. She even liked to wear skirts a little too short just to get a rise out of him.
The public didn't know. They never knew.
They also thought that soggy bread was the worst thing that could happen, so even if there was a day that they saw her and Butch tongue-tied, she was sure they wouldn't blink an eye. They might mistake it as a new form of fighting.
He was her special haven. Something that only they could share. It was a freedom that only existed in their created space and felt comforting to know that he was in her orbit even if she couldn't see him.
Their pages were always the same and even though they wouldn't admit it, they knew each other too well.
So when the skyline turned to steel bars, he would remind her that it was all in her head. That she could fly above it all and breath for a moment and come back down as if nothing bothered her.
"Ease the gears turning in your head Bloss."
She turned to look at him. She wanted to say that he looked cute but she wouldn't. They didn't do that. She wanted it. She wanted to challenge the denial and just admit their feelings.
But thats the thing about secrets. He might have know how she felt about the city, but this one was hers. Painfully, hers.
So instead she closed her eyes and took a breath. She let the air fill her lungs and bring her down to a world where she was just a young woman on a cliff side with a cute guy.
It was enough for now.
"I'm good." She smiled at him.
There was a look in his eyes that said otherwise but he knew better than to try to cross a line. It wouldn't end well.
She looked out to see the city in all its bright glory. Shoulders brushed like lovers but never indulging anything further than physical.
"You're not good." He said as he flicked a lighter open to light a cigarette. "But, I won't budge."
"Its best if you don't." Blossom said she stole the little white stick and took a drag.
He shrugged. "Then tell me a secret. A good one." Then he stole the cigarette back.
The slight smoke filled the space between them and her mind hovered on a world where they didn't hide and he wanted to marry her. She could see children with eyes of green and pink. Bows and sticky hands. A world where this town was only something she came to for holidays.
She didn't hate her town. She hated the fear of that it was were all her potential would be kept on a shelf.
Blossom looked at his side profile again. He always had long lashes and good skin. She was jealous. Why did men get that and she was wearing extensions.
"I'm actually afraid of snakes." She said calmly.
He chuckled and put the cigarette out with his foot.
"Wanna know something?" He smirked.
"Hmm?"
"Me too."
She couldn't tell if he was lying. She didn't care. She only cared that they were skimming the surface of what they could be. She needed that fire to be extinguished because bad thoughts led to bad actions.
In that moment, she accepted a small defeat.
So instead of facing her problems, she straddled his hips and kissed him as if they were lovers in every universe before.

Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoyed.

Brick + Blossom having disagreements/ arguments as first time parents then later on comforting each other 😭😭😭 (needed angst with comfort and I knew you're so good with that lololol)
I hope that this is angsty enough for you lol. I've been playing with a bunch of different dynamics of the characters recently and wanted to go in on the boys childhood.
Thank you so much for sending in a request, it fills my heart with joy. I hope that you enjoy this!
---
It started with Brick walking into his brothers kitchen and seeing his own daughter, Brook, sitting on the counter. The three year old had the dark blue ceramic cookie jar sat in her lap with the lid popped, and one hand reached down to hand it to her cousin, Boston.
A yell came from Brick's mouth and while Boston's blue eyes widened in fear, his own daughter giggled.
It took Brick back. His daughter not realizing the severity of the situation and not taking him seriously.
"Brook, if you don't put the cookie away, we are going home." He scolded and slammed his hand on the table.
Magenta eyes widened and the cookie was dropped. Brick saw as tears filled her waterline and her lips started to quiver.
He heard the door open behind him and Blossom came into the kitchen.
"Brick, is everything okay? I heard yelling." She asked and saw what was happening. "Brook, you know better than that."
"I'm sorry." Her little voice came out and she jumped off the counter and took Bostons hand and ran past her parents.
"Blossom, I was handling it." Brick said as he watched his daughter leave the room.
"I'm sure, but you didn't have to yell." She responded and walked over to the counter to set the jar back to its original place. "It was only a cookie."
"Im not letting my daughter get away with stealing."
Blossom rolled her eyes. "Brick she wasn't stealing-"
"Then what do you call it? If she's gonna act bad then she needs to be disciplined." He demanded.
Blossom held her hands up. "Honey, I think you're overreacting. Yes, she shouldn't have taken it but its the holidays. All the kids are gonna be hook up on sugar and running around."
"She didn't even care when I scolded her!"
"She's was in tears." She tried to reason. "She's not scared of you, which she shouldn't be. We can have a talk with her later but let's not but everyone into a bad mood. Boston already looked upset and the last thing we need is for him to sonic scream us to death."
Brick scoffed. "So it's my fault then?"
Blossoms eyes narrowed. "Thats not what I meant and you know it."
It was his turn to roll his eyes. "Whatever." He said and move past her to go outside.
--
An hour or so had past and Blossom looked around the room to all the children playing. Her sisters were sitting by the piano with Robin and her brother-in-laws were in the other room playing pool.
She noticed that Brick still wasn't inside.
She found him on the roof top. Very rare was he there but she knew him well. Of course she did. Usually he would go to the balcony but even as teenagers, the serious stuff required rooftop access since only few could get there.
She saw the small swirl of smoke twirling in the air. She smoked a little in her teens, something to take the edge off. In fact, one of their first meetings as equals was shared over a lit cigarette.
They both gave it up, many moons ago. She knew he didn’t like the smell and not so much the taste, but it felt like a punishment for him.
He could sense her before he heard her. His hand going towards the ground to put it out as if he was trying not to get caught.
“Relax, you can have this one.” She said right before it hit the roof tile.
Back into his mouth.
“I’ll be down in a second.” He said but she was already sat next to him and rubbing his back. He could feel the slight indent of her ring going up and down.
"She took a cookie.” Blossom said. “I don’t think it’s about the cookie though.”
“She shouldn’t have taken it, that’s all.”
The cigarette was ripped from his hand and placed between her lips. He followed the way the smoke swirled out of her mouth. She was intoxicating and if he weren’t in a bad mood then he probably would have kissed her.
“Brick.”
“What?”
“Why do you think you can lie to me?” She asked.
The hairs on the back of his neck stood up.
“I’m not.” He lied.
“Do you think I’m dumb?” She asked.
“Blossom, please.” He didn’t want an argument. "Of course not."
She sighed. “Brick, I am your wife. The mother of your child and yet you sit here and act like I don’t deserve to know what’s wrong. You can’t think that her taking one cookie and you yelling is an okay thing to do.”
"I know."
"Then what is it about?"
He tried to deny the feelings when they first arrived. He knew that he shouldn't be thinking this way after everything that happened but the truth was, he was scared. Terrified.
His head hung low, almost like a dog who just got caught.
"I don't want Brook to end up like me."
Blossom's lips fell apart and her back stiffened.
"What?" She nearly gasped.
Brick shook his head. "The stealing. It starts small and you might not think it's a big deal. One second it's a cookie and next it's a bank."
"Oh honey, you're overthinking it." She tried to reassure him, but it didn't work.
"No I'm not." He stood. "She's just like me as much as she's like you. She basically has evil in her dna."
Blossom scoffed. "Don't even say that!"
"Its true!" He threw his hands up in frustration. "I was born evil. I was created for the soul purpose to destroy you and even if everything has changed, she may be wired like me."
He looked up at his wife and saw tears in her eyes. Her head was shaking to the side slowly.
"Brick, I may never fully understand what you went through, no one will. And yes, you may he been forced into a role you didn't want, but that does not make you evil. Most importantly, your past does not make her bad. I am sorry that you feel this way but you have to believe me when I tell you that you are not a bad person."
"Bloss, Ive done-"
"So what!" She sobbed. "Do you think that what you did as a kid, a literal child who had no choice, makes you unworthy of who you are now? You have worked so hard to undo what your fathers forced upon you. You may have done bad things but you are not a bad guy. Evil is not a trait like red hair that can be passed down."
"I'm just scared that she will one day think less of me or even worse, look up to my bad habits."
"Your daughter looks at you as if you created the sun." She reminded him. "You can't take that away from her Brick. If you start to believe that she will become a bad person, then you have already lost her."
He sighed. "I know. What if she finds out what I've done?"
Blossom shrugged. "I don't know. I can't tell you how she would react but all we can hope for is that we raise her in a way to be understanding. You stole things Brick, you didn't kill anyone."
"I guess so. I just want to be a good dad."
"And you are." She reached for his arm. "Kids are going to rebel. They are naturally mischievous. Thats not from you, its just how things are. I used to steal stuff all the time."
His lips turned up slightly. "Really?"
She shrugged. "I had a bad sweet tooth. So my dad had to create a special lock so that my lasers couldn't get through."
"That makes me feel better." He pulled her into a hug. "Thank you."
She kissed his cheek. "For the record, I was planning on having a sly child. If she's anything like you, then she's perfect in my eyes. You can teach her how to be bad in a good way. Show her how to play pranks on her uncles."
His eyes widened. "I didn't even think about that."
"Of course not." She laughed. "Also, I'm the one who taught her the cookie jar trick so you can't really blame her."
"So I just had a mental break down over nothing?"
She hummed. "I mean, it's good to express your feelings."
He scoffed. "Whatever."
"See thats the behavior we don't want her to have." She teased. "Now, I think you need to go down there and apologize to your little girl. You can teach her a lesson without being so harsh."
He then realized that he did in fact yell and make his daughter feel bad. It reminded him of all the times Him and Mojo scolded his brothers and demanded more out of them.
He remembers the nights where he would be locked in his room and his face buried in his pillow with tears. The yelling and shouting. He hated it. There was a reason he didn't speak to them anymore.
He didn't want to be that person. He wanted his daughter to love and trust him.
The past was in the past and sometimes he still struggled with that.
Brick dropped the cigarette and put it out with his foot. He reached out his hand so Blossom could take it and wiped his thumb under her eyes to catch any remaining tears.
"I'm sorry for upsetting you." He said quietly.
She kissed his hand. "I just know that you carry so much from your own childhood and it pains me."
"I know. But she's not going to have that."
Blossom smiled and took his hand. "Lets go back inside."
--
"So Brook, now you know that you shouldn't take things that aren't yours." Brick said softly to his daughter.
She nodded her head. "I'm sorry Daddy."
"Its alright." He looked around. "But, if you are gonna sneak a cookie, which you shouldn't, but if you do, have Boston be a lookout. Can't get in trouble if you're not caught." He winked.
Brook cover her mouth with her hands to hide her giggles.
"Now, I'm gonna show you how to properly prank your uncles, you ready?"
"Yes!" Brook cheered.

Hope you enjoyed!

Imagine: making friendship bracelets with PPG
Imagine: making friendship bracelets with PPG
-
The city of Townsville, a kind place full of kind people and a kind family!
and look! There are the PowerPuff Girls!
Settled outside in their front yard on a breezy spring day,
Charms beads ribbons and strings
Weaving braiding and crafting these things!
and look! there's Professor Utonium!
Tending to the flora, tending to the garden,
With glove hat and shears in hand
Maintaining the grounds, oh my! What a man!
The girls are settled on a gingham blanket, their crafting supplies sprawled about.
"Crafting, Crafting, Crafting!", Bubbles sings with her coloring books and crayons nearby.
Blossom has a focused stare, threading each bead with absolute precision.
"Aw man! I can't get this stupid pattern right!", Buttercup huffs in frustration.
As she stomps away from the blanket, a Townsville citizen passes by looking toward the failed effort. You know exactly what that is!
"Hi! Are you trying a Chevron?", you ask.
"... Yeah.", Buttercup relents reluctantly.
"I can help you if you'd like! I used to do these all the time."
"You know how to make friendship bracelets!!!", Bubbles cheers.
"Yep, I was a Girl Scout!"
"Would you like to join us?", Blossom invites.
"Sure! Thanks."
You find a spot on the blanket and start undoing Buttercup's bracelet.
"... You start is like this."
"... then go over right here-"
"Then you tie it off and you're done!"
"Wow! Your bracelet is so pretty!", Bubbles says in awe.
"It's MINE- she made it for ME!", Buttercup clarifies.
"Yours or Buttercup's , can you make me one?", Blossom requests.
"Ooh! Me too! Me too!", Bubbles cries.
"Of course! May I use the charms?", you comply.
You spend the entire afternoon making bracelets for the PowerPuff Girls, each customized and designed by the owner. Bubble's bracelet uses white, black, and blue. It has charms of dolphins, squirrels, flowers, and stars. Blossom's bracelet uses red, black, and pink. It has charms of beads, hearts, bows, and fruits. Buttercup's bracelet uses green, black, and white. It has charms of diamonds, crescent moons, and candies.
As the sun sets, you finish the last touches and say your goodbyes. You spent the evening with the PowerPuff Girls!
Any charms and ribbons left unused you asked to keep and when you get home you start on your own. Your own bracelet, your own memory of the moment spent with your city's heroines.

I finally posted my first fanfiction! For anyone in the Powerpuff Girls fandom I hope you enjoy this. Fair warning it’s not plotted out in super great detail, I know where I’m going but I figured I’d let myself figure some of the details out as I go along rather than worry too much so if it seems messy sorry about that.
