my thoughts on next year for the rangers (now that i’ve collected myself)

I think what needs to happen next year is they definitely need to work more on their 5on5 play. that’s been their weakness all season but they’ve ignored it cause they were winning. it wasn’t exposed in the carolina series and it sure as hell wasn’t exposed in the caps series. they relied too much on the pp and their weakness was exposed in this series. it happens. they definitely need to work more on that in the off season. They need to work on smarter offense. also about player decisions. Wennberg, Roslovic, and Kakko are probably gonna be gone next year. i don’t think they trade any of the big three (yet)(panarin, zibanejad, kreider). Trouba needs to at least get the C taken from him. It’d be great if he was traded though. Really out of left field but if they want him in lineup consistently, they should try converting Rempe to defense in the off season. He’s a huge offensive liability. He’s got a reach that Matt Martin said was longer than Chara’s. Most of the good plays he’s made have been in the d-zone. He’s physical and he’d be a better d-man than a forward. If they need to take him outta the lineup for a while to let him develop more with the wolfpack, that’s okay. as for the team in general. I know the line was productive in the reg season but split up second line. Trocheck and Panarin are both great playmakers so you don’t need them on the same line. Move either Panarin or Trocheck to a different line that’s missing solid playmaking. i think that might happen anyway tho since wheeler and chytil are back. Trade Kakko and/or Trouba and possibly some draft picks for a decent player. could be a forward or a defenseman idc just get rid of those two and bring in someone who’s valuable. those are pretty much my thoughts. thanks.
