I love that in Bruce's wildest fantasies his parents can live but the Graysons do in fact have to die because he cannot fathom living without his emotional support orphan

I'm so done with F1 normalizing the replacement of drivers mid-season
I mean c'mon: De Vries everyone sort of swept under the rug because most people agreed he wasn't doing quite as well as could be hoped but largely it was because EVERYONE WANTED THE HONEY BADGER BACK But like now? This is getting ridiculous.
Sargeant? Gone. Magnussen being replaced for one race? No one would shut up about how much better Bearman did than him. Danny Ric getting mid season booted? No one seems concerned about it. This is getting egregious, seriously. A contract is a contract and a drive is a drive.
With really good reason I can see dropping a driver, but at this point people are hardly getting full seasons if the team has any say in it, and vice versa is the sponsors have a say in it. It's gross. Let them finish the season.
At the very least let Danny race at COTA one last time my boi loves the place.

there are three kinds of intimacy
It is very important that people understand the difference between these.
Emotional Intimacy: connection between two people in the mind – this is what makes the difference between friends and best friends, someone you dislike and someone you refuse to talk to. This is to love someone.
Physical Intimacy: physical comfort with another person – whether you’re comfortable with a handshake, a hug, a kiss, something more, something less. This is what determines how comfortable you are with someone physically. This is to feel safe.
Romantic Intimacy: connection with two people in the “heart” (I prefer to think of it as the soul). This is the type of connection that determines whether you are in love with someone, as opposed to just loving them. This is why people date, break up, marry, etc. (at least in American culture, I know some cultures don’t view marriage the same way). This is to be in love.

I mean... I agree with some of this but Jason's character bible(UtRH) literally establishes him as a manipulative sadist? Like he tortures a woman and manipulates Bruce? He later kidnapped Mia Dearden, fucked with her head, and blew up her school, he shot Damian, and has stomped his shit in, he beat the daylights out of Tim, he dressed up as Nightwing and started killing people to manipulate Dick? His entire comic book history post rez- and I want to say pre-rebirth but he still does shit like this sometimes- is him being a manipulative sadist? That's not a little canon to ignore, that's like... all of it and idk Dick cheating in one an annual that literally never gets mentioned again and Tim being written by the notoriously shitty Chucky D and later adjusted is one thing but like. Judd Winnick literally states this as the intent behind UtRH and it shows in the comic?
"but tim is a misogynist in the earliest comics" "but dick cheated" "but jason is a manipulive sadist" pookie if you want to be in this fandom as well as to be sane you Cannot take the whole canon seriously. if we all would do that then- well. you can imagine

NGL I very much imagine the Meereen/Dany sections as a sort of West Wing, only instead of running into trees on a bike a la Bartlett, Dany is getting all turned around every time she flies with Drogon and has to literally stop and ask for directions (this does cause a couple of villages to worship her for a little while, just to be safe, because if a strange woman comes flying in on a giant lizard, asks you where Meereen is, then stays for dinner and then a week later you get a bagful of gold it's not like you can be TOTALLY sure she's not a god or something)
(from the sequel to this)
Dany had read a great deal, since coming to Meereen, about dragons, dragon-riding, and the needed traits of an effective dragon rider. The Targaryens had been famous for the dragons they'd ridden into battle, even before the Doom, and every other Valyrian song or story noted the attributes necessary to ride one of the Great Beasts.
Of all the qualifications, not one mention had been made of a sense of direction.
"Did you get lost again?" asked Tyrion, mild as sour milk, not so much as getting up from where he reclined on the bench as Drogon landed beside him with a great crash. From the looks of things, he'd been waiting on the balcony for some time, the pile of "to be read" books quite a bit shorter than either the "read and approve of" or the "read and wish to burn" piles.
"Water, please," Dany croaked, half-falling from Drogon's back.
"I'm not saying it's an insane, foolish and suicidally risky notion to flap about astride the most dangerous creature in the known world," said Tyrion as he reached down and fetched a bottle from under the bench, which turned out to be full of cold, clean water. Dany took it in slow sips; she'd already learned the perils of gulping down buckets of water in this state. "On second thought, no, that's precisely what I'm saying."
Drogon lifted his frill slightly, in a way that reminded Dany queerly of her husband; not a threat but a warning. What about the unknown world? Was Tyrion saying there was something more dangerous than Drogon? "Only the known world?" she said instead.
Tyrion gave her a flat, unamused look; as though he could hear Drogon's thoughts just as clearly. "Put it this way: if there's something out there more dangerous than Drogon, I'd rather not know."

Idk where this "Dick is an overbearing brother who never leaves his siblings alone" thing comes from because 10/10 it is the opposite. Y are we acting like Dick ignoring a text message does not trigger the unskippable cutscene of some jersey boy climbing through his window talkin bout "how come you don't love me anymore 🥺".

A. That wasn't Bruce's original standpoint
And
B. Jason's stance on killing the leadership of organized crime organizations is historically the worst way that you can attack organized crime. It makes everything like. 10 times worse(not that Jason rlly cared at that point). Pls read about the war on drugs and why it didn't work. This isn't a Batman is right scenario, this is a "if you escalate violence against organized crime, they escalate violence between each other, outside forces, and within the communities they exist in, while further exploiting the most vulnerable members(which are not just children. adult addicts are still deserving of compassion and respect, and are made more vulnerable by this type of action) " situation.
jason todd did have a point. dc seems to be afraid of batman being wrong ever but his son honestly does have a point as the red hood. "stop selling all drugs ever" is never ever ever going to work in a million years no matter how scary batman makes himself, and jason knows that because he grew up in crime alley, but "stop selling drugs to children or i'll personally ensure your head ends up in a duffel bag"? much more actionable goals

so camera angles in F1 right
In case you don’t know this about me, I’m a mild film/cam passionista, and I have opinions sometimes okay.
F1’s main problem with cameras (imo) is that they really want to “keep people in the action” which they’ve done by keeping cars in the direct center of your screen all the times, and putting cameras at sections with wider angles of view. This is nice, because the sort of limited camera angles from before made it occasionally difficult to keep track of race action.
HOWEVER
They sort of swapped to this wide, central shot style, instead of implementing it. One thing F1 did really well was letting you feel and understand the power of these cars, even through a TV screen. The camera whipped around to follow Raikkonen absolutely sending his car through Eau Rouge (absolute madlad btw) or the Schumacher brothers chasing each other through that wide right hander in Silverstone. The cars felt fast, they felt close, and a lot of that was due to the very stationary cameras relatively close to the track, and the fact that the operators didn’t seem to feel the need to adjust the zoom angle every microsecond to keep the car perfectly centered on your TVs screen. Like sure, I couldn’t see all the pretty sponsor logos, or maybe I didn’t always catch the honestly fascinating front or rear wings of the 2000s (next up on the fact list?), but that was part of the magic. The cars were screaming past so quickly you could hardly keep them in frame at all.
This started going away in the 2010s. By 2020 it was nearly gone completely, and watching races just felt sort of stagnant: no matter how fast I knew Hamilton and Vettel were throwing themselves through every corner, they always seemed to be moving at the same speed.
But things are starting to change.
New cams like the ones on front wings, on/inside driver helmets, and the saving grace of the mid-season camera development upgrades (lol), the gyro cam. These are SO COOL, and the gyro cam in particular feels FAST, I think because the mildly warped field of view makes the motion blur heavier while still keeping that crisp video quality we’ve come to expect from modern cameras, combined with the defining feature of it rolling with the horizon as the car experienced angle changes itself.
Also just angles in general, like the ones at the Monaco pool chicane and tunnel, and some of the ones at Singapore this year, they just bring back that close-to-the-track action.
Interestingly, if you go back and watch recordings from the 1970s and 80s, you’ll notice they actually had some of these. The onboard cameras back then were genuinely exciting, and I watch them all the time. I’d recommend that any F1 fan do that, even if just to see the evolution of driving styles and cars.
I think F1 is finally listening to fans saying they liked the more stationary cameras, the wild onboards, stuff like that. You can feel the speed of the cars like back in the 2000’s and early 2010’s.
