Honestly, in every fandom where there is a book and then a screen adaptation, I hope more people will come to appreciate the book. Like with Fourteenth Year of Chenghua, I love novel SuiTang so much, I was feral reading about their ridiculous slow-burn, and then I finished and went to find fics and only 6 or so were novel-based, like 400 others were show-based, which is fine, but the characters and their dynamic is different enough that it may as well be a different ship.

9. a ship that isn't your OTP but that you enjoy

I will do this for MDZS, and I'll say... chengxian. It COULD have been my otp, except I was much more into wangxian at the time, and alas, I am not a multishipper. So instead something else became my otp. But quite honestly, I find the relationship between JC and WWX so INTERESTING and compelling and there is so much love and pain there... even if something else is the actual otp I that I spent most of my time on, chengxian will always have a place in my psyche. Also, LingYi. Because they bicker so much, I love it, I think those boys should be boyfriends.
