I am once again talking about why I like being a kids party entertainer.

Yes, it's only weekend work but can pay well, I get to travel a little, you get to be a part of a kids core memories, you can give parents a break and a happy feeling watching me dressed as Rapunzel play with little 6 year old Beth and hear kids scream in delight because I announced they were all so good at musical statues that I think they all deserve a glittery sticker

But like

You get to see some absolutely batshit stuff from parents trying to one up eachother

I'm in the corner with the kids blowing bubbles and playing with a portable ball pit while Trisha shows off the five tier cake designed to look like La Casita from Encanto that cost £455 from a central London bakery from Instagram and interrupts the games eight times to take photos with the birthday child who's wearing a dress so heavy she can barely move while other mums smile and flash manicured hands before turning around and commenting how the chocolate fountain is from Costco and all that plastic makes the chocolate strawberries taste terrible so little Raya and Rayan aren't allowed any but by gods great earth do all of them eat their fucking words when Trisha walks out holding an actual to god Fun Pizza like the one from the Tumblr post I am not fucking kidding guys someone made and served the Fun Pizza at a party I did it was sureal

Im 19, as of two days ago, and it feels the same but also oddly strange.

Like no time has passed, but also like the year has zipped by extraordinarily fast.

I haven't had a party since I was about eight I think. It's too much work, my friends are too busy, and takes alot of energy.

Still, I spent the day before with a friend I hold close in my heart. The day of I spent with my family with delicious food and we had cake by the empty hearth.

I got messages from all the friends who mattered. Though they were all the same, it was enough to know they remembered.

The day still felt like anyother. But I was happy so I guess what the fuck does it matter.
