Plant-based substitute for fossil fuels developed for plastic foams
An environmentally-friendly preparation of plant material from pine could serve as a substitute for petroleum-based chemicals in polyurethane foams. The innovation could lead to more environmentally friendly versions of foams used ubiquitously in products such as kitchen sponges, foam cushions, coatings, adhesives, packaging and insulation. The global market for polyurethane totaled more than $75 billion in 2022. A Washington State University-led research team used an environmentally-friendly preparation of lignin as a substitute for 20% of the fossil fuel-based chemicals in the foam. The bio-based foam was as strong and flexible as typical polyurethane foam. The researchers report on their work in the journal ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering.

"A Delhi-based engineer has designed a replacement for polystyrene packaging out of “rice stubble” the dead stalks left over after the rice season in India, millions of tons of which are burned every year.
They say wisdom oft comes from the mouths of babes, and Mr. Arpit Dhupar was at first left scratching his head when his young nephew drew a picture of the world with a grey sky.
Everything else was normal, green grass, yellow sun, white and brown mountains; why was the sky grey? It dawned on him that his nephew was drawing the sky as he saw it every year when the rice stubble was burned: grey.
“We shouldn’t live in a world where we have to explain to kids that the sky should be painted blue. It should be a given,” he told The Better India.
So he launched a new business venture called Dharaksha Ecosystems in order to tackle the rice stubble problem. Essentially, the farmers need it cleared off their land asap after harvest. Its high moisture content means it’s not useful for stove fuel, so they burn it in massive pyres.
In his factory, he turns 250 metric tons of rice stubble harvested from 100 acres of farmland in Punjab and Haryana into packaging, while paying the farmers a rate of $30 per acre for something they would usually burn.

Dhupar originally wanted to use mushrooms to rapidly biodegrade baled stacks of rice stubble, but found that the fungus left behind a metabolite that wasn’t biodegradable—in other words, he’d have to create a waste problem to solve a waste problem.
Over time he realized that the filaments that make up the subterranean structure of the mushrooms, called mycelium, were acting as a sort of binding agent, turning the baled stubble into something durable.
“This wasn’t a waste material but could be a usable one,” said Dhupar. “Through bio-fabrication, we could use the stubble waste to create a material similar to [polystyrene], but one that was biodegradable.”
There are a lot of these sorts of sustainable packaging ideas floating around, invented by people who rarely have experience in markets and commerce. This is not the case with Dhupar’s stubble packaging.
He has already prevented over half a million pounds of polystyrene from entering landfills since launching his product, which has numerous, exceptional properties.
They sell around 20 metric tons of their product every month, making about $30.5 thousand dollars per annum, mostly by selling to glassware companies."

GOOD MORNIFN TUMBLR IT IS CURRENTLY 2 PM FOR ME AN I AM FEEELIN VERY GOOD VERY COMIC MOTIVATED to answer some questions tho - do i sleep? absolutely even if its only a couple hours i have horrible insomnia and i tend to have to exhuasted myself to an extreme deal if i want to sleep more then 3 hrs which is why sometimes ill be alive at 4 or 5 am , this is also why i stated updates will be random , tho i dont like posting at 3 am i will if i want to move onto my next project -you've noted my bio says full time nsfw artist , is there going to be nsfw in the comic? if there is it will not be plot related and it will kept to my nsfw accounts ( i will not be sharing a link here or in the comments of this post as i have already shared where you could find that content ) - i'm really fast how am i getting this much done this fast? i work from home an yes do art full time , i do live in stream commissions so i just have "trained" my self to move faster when it comes to my art that way i can do more then just one persons commission in stream so now out of habbit i go go go go i've been called the "amazon prime" "same day shipping" artist haha tho sometimes a really really big piece comes through an that is a all day project but nonetheless anyone can practice enough to do stuff fast i also have been a full time artist for 5 years now ( sometimes even just taking a day to do fast sloppy sketches really helps with getting speed but speed should not be you main focus your growing as a artist and should enjoy the process and the art you make <3 -anything cosplay related , since i have gotten a vast amount of questions there -my wigs are all to mostly from arda wigs ( my jack frost and danny wig is a jet wig from arda, jacks is a silver in jet and danny's is a pure white in jet but i cut it in half to dye the under cut black ) if my wig isnt from arda they are mostly from amazon map of beauty is a good start for someone who wants a cheap wig to start with - i have been cosplaying for almost 12 years now i do not use name brand make up tbh my foundation is super stay from walmart in the lightest shade since i dont get to see the sun very often haha , i will always recommmend TRANSULUCENT setting powder -Contacts! yes sometimes i wear them but my eyes are very sensitive and i am very blind so most the time i am just editing them to the color i need them lol please stay away from ttdeye contacts they can damage your eyes DO NOT SHARE CONTACTS if they hurt TAKE THEM OUT NOW , contacts can cut and damage your eyes very easy - my jack frost cosplay staff , my staff is over 6ft tall ( i am not very short so i had to make it sized to me ) its a pvc pipe i had laying around and on the top there is a piece of a different broken prop hot glued to hell and back and heat shaped to make the hook then i i cut up a bunch of random lengthed shapes of foam and glued it around from the base to the very top and then sat there with my hot glue gun and added wood texture with hot glue , painted it a off brown , then dry brushed white all over it my staff is not perfect but for having made it all in one day i love it
if i missed anything feel free to ask im sure have an answer haha also been debating a name for my comic so might be refering to it as the golden dream but im unsure if i want to commit to it haha

i'm a teen with acne-prone slightly sensitive skin that gets oily by the end of the day🧖♀️
(i'm 99% sure i'm allergic to salicylic acid bc it didn't help with my breakouts/caused them so i avoid it in my routine❕)
as a makeup remover i use the elf holy hydration makeup melting balm 🚿

i just ran out but if i haven't worn makeup but my pores feel especially clogged i use the burt's bees oil cleanser 🥥 (you do have to double cleanse with a water based cleanser afterwards !)

for a daily water-based facial cleanser i use two different ones
the cerave foaming facial cleanser 🧼 "oil control" on the bottle is no joke ! i don't get oily in the day anymore bc of the niacinamide in this :)

but it can be a little drying/strong so i mix it with the cetaphil gentle skin cleanser 🛁

i use this really cheap & generic silicone face scrubber for my nostrils/chin/sideburn-hairline area 🧽
once a week i use this scrub pixi peel and polish its a mask with physical and chemical exfoliants
it smells like lemon cucumber water🥒 and can also be used for body acne on the chest, back, & arms !!
once a week i use an AHA chemical exfoliant it's elf supertone toner 🌝 it has glycolic acid and is has a little bit of a lemony scent
what i use as a daily toner is thayer's rose-scented witch hazel spray 💌 it calms down any redness i have instantly !
i used to use the cerave daily moisturizing lotion but it was a little oily and it was impossible to apply makeup on 🧘 so now i use it on my hands before doing my facial moisturizer
and for that i use a mix of elf holy hydration gel-yeah moisturizer and elf holy hydration face cream 💦 it's pretty self-explanatory but the former is a clear gel and the latter is a white cream, i adjust the proportions for my moisture needs :) ⛲️
in the winter or if my face feels dry or in need of healing i use clinique moisture surge overnight face mask 🦪
"mask" is a little misleading as you just apply it with your moisturizer like any other lotion 🧴 it's super hydrating, it's a little expensive but i got it as a gift and a little goes a long way ! :)
after a breakout has healed completely i use a little bio oil on top of my moisturizer to fade any dark spots/scars 🐚
after i shower and exfoliate my lips i use this random lip mask from bath and body works that's watermelon scented 🍉 it's thick (a little goes a long way) and yummy
i also use smith's rosebud salve in this tin 🌹 it's like a nice scented vaseline
i don't use it all the time bc it's expensive but i love the mario badescu caffeine eye cream💆it's so good for my sunken dark circles ! but avoid getting it in your eye and keeping it in the bathroom bc it curdles if it gets too hot from shower steam
for active acne spots i use might patch pimple patches 🩹regular for whiteheads and micropoint ones for swollen spots under the skin

I CAVED AND MADE A SPIDER-SONA His name is Weaver (He/Him) and I based him off of the idea of a Golden Orb-Weaver spider! People will also call him his official title of "The Golden Spider", but close friends call him Weaver. The Spider legs are detachable since they are a bio-mechanical device instead of part of his body. Is this an excuse to draw him without them sometimes? Yes. Yes it is. This entire ordeal started as a small idea a few years ago, but The Medbay discord inspired me to actually finish it and put him on "paper". Crop top hoodies are great

Weaver is ~20 years old and lives by himself with no contact to his family/parents. The whole double-arm thing is because of the spider that bit him (that little menace), and it both makes his life easier and harder at the same time.
His height is, surprisingly, just because of genetics. It does help to carry around the extra weight that his arms put on him.
Weaver gives off massive big brother energy and vibes. He is incredibly sarcastic, caring (even though he doesn't really show it most of the time), mildly aloof and pretty blunt. There may or may not have been a time where he left another spider-person on a roof, tangled up in his webs. Speaking of webs, all of his webs are organically made! They are made by him naturally instead of chemically like some spider-people. The only place where they aren't produced is in his fake spider legs and he has a system that gives them webs anyway. It's pretty useful but it can be a pain if his body doesn't have the nutrients and stuff to make the webs naturally.
Weaver also has some sensory problems, mainly his touch and hearing. The hoodie is designed to be able to muffle sound when he puts the hood up (this is mainly why there is so much fluff there. It makes the hoodie comfortable to wear instead of looking like a big piece of foam that hurts). The hoodie also is weighted (a little) so it can be grounding when he has a sensory overload :>

One is the xenogender flag and the other is the Hazzardqueer/ dangerqueer flag.
Xenogenders are any gender identities that are foreign to the gender binary (nothing particularly referring to woman and man), so they also fall under the umbrella term non-binary (any gender identity that’s not strictly man or woman). Often xenogenders relate to all sorts of things from colors, to animals, to feelings, pretty much anything. More often then non autistic people identify with xenogenders because they are more likely to have a very atypical connection with gender in comparison to allistic (non-autistic) people. I understand why you would ask the question, I do that thing all the time where I see flags in peoples bios and I’m like oh no idk what that one is I hope it’s not for something bad, and I try reverse image searching them and can’t figure it out and all that stuff so I thought it would be good to have the answer on my blog, btw if I update my pfp flags they will likely be with xenogenders. Sorry the past is so long, I wanted to give accurate descriptions so people don’t have to do much looking into it and most of it is from the descriptions online but a lot I did paraphrase a lot especially with the top one cause I feel I have more of an understanding of it.
