In all honesty, Marinette didn't know how she ended up in Crime Alley. One minute, she was walking by and the next she was pulled in by some robber.
Let me back up and explain ___________________________ Marinette found out about her biological father by accident. It was just her luck that her class also won the trip to her bio dad's city. She doesn't know how long she can keep it hidden or if she even should keep it hidden.

Chapter 24: Family, Friends and Identities (3)
MASTERLIST | FIRST | PREV | AO3
“Marinette!
“Marinette!
“Where could she be?” Sabrina asked no one in particular, quickly taking out her phone when she felt it buzz in her skirt.
The moment the group realized that Marinette was taking longer than usual to make her way back to their table, they tried to be optimistic about her tardiness.
After all, who would miss the countdown for the new year? Especially the fireworks?
A few minutes remained until the start of the new year.
Four minutes to be exact.
But when Marinette didn’t appear even as the clock struck midnight and signaled the beginning of the new year, they feared the worst.
Without another second to spare, the group of friends scattered in search of their missing member, pushing their way through drunken adults, hugging friends and toasting celebrities. Not a single person turned to look at the frenzied teenagers.
Sabrina opened up the notification, looking at the group chat updates.
Adrien: We checked the roof, she’s not here. How’d it look in the hall? Did you find her?
Nothing. She’s not downstairs either. Anything from Chloe yet?
Adrien: Still haven’t heard from her yet. She wouldn’t pick up either. Something must’ve happened on her end.
Adrien: Nino, anything from the kitchen?
Nino: Alya saw her run through the hall, but she couldn't make out why she was running. All she saw was her running out into the stairwell, as if she was chasing something. She tried to follow, but her mother wouldn’t let her leave the kitchen in fear of someone seeing her.
Someone seeing her? I thought she volunteered for the event?
Adrien: Kinda
Adrien: Well, Alya somehow snuck her way into the party, so if anyone from the hotel staff saw her, well…
Nino: She was going to get her and her mother in trouble.
Sabrina somehow found herself in the kitchen after reading that text, finding Nino attempting to comfort Alya before both turned to see her.
Sabrina felt guilt gnaw at her when she saw Alya try and look behind her, her shoulders dropping when she did not see Mari.
“Seems like you had no luck finding her either, huh?” Nino spoke up, hoping to ease the tension in the room.
“Marinette really didn’t pass by here, did she?” Sabrina asked, Alya shaking her head. “Ayla, you said she was chasing something. Were you able to see the thing Marinette was chasing?” Sabrina asked.
“As I told Nino, I couldn’t see it, but whatever it was, it had to be small.” When Sabrina didn’t say anything, Alya decided to explain herself. “While I couldn’t go into the crowd to verify what went on, I didn’t have to exactly see the thing to know its size.
If she were chasing someone, people would’ve been moving out of her way to prevent getting caught in the fray.
But no one did.
What makes this all the more strange was the fact that Marinette looked…horrified as she chased whatever it was that she was chasing.”
“Horrified?”
“Normally someone would look terrified if they were being chased, but like I mentioned, she was chasing something as she fled into the staff’s stairway. Whatever it was, it was something that-”
“She has to be downstairs then!” Nino exclaimed, about to head there himself when Sabrina stopped him. “We have to-”
“I don’t think she would be there.”
“Why do you think that?”
“The door leading into the next floor should be locked, as it’s the suite Chloe resides in. In other words, it’s always locked from the outside to prevent others from casually walking into the floor.” Sabrina hated the way Nino looked at her with disbelief. “Marinette should not have been able to get onto the floor without the access card.”
“But we have to try.” Alya pleaded. “Maybe she is there.”
“Alya-”
“It doesn't hurt to check.” Nino sided with Alya. “Let’s just check, Sabrina.” Nino took a breath to calm himself down and stop his words from trembling. “If the door is locked like you say it is, then we have to tell the others that Marinette might not be in the hotel anymore…
And if we do find her there, then I can finally get rid of the thought of Marinette possibly being kidnapped again from right under our noses.” Nino confessed. “I just…I just want to know that she’s alright and that she just got lost inside the hotel and didn’t in fact get kidnapped again…okay? I want to know-”
“Don’t you think I want to know too?” Sabrina managed to say without her voice completely cracking because to be completely honest, she just wanted to cry right then and there.
She wanted to just cry and get rid of the knots that were tying in her stomach and the churning in her gut.
Of course she wanted to know if Marinette was safe…
Of course she was worried… “Marinette is my friend too, Nino! Of course I’m worried! But I can’t just blindly go looking for her without raising concern from those around us!
We can’t push Marinette back into the spotlight like that. She doesn’t deserve to be looked at like a spectacle! I would never forgive myself for doing that to her.”
Nino held onto his arm when Sabrina wiped away a tear with the palm of her hand, noticing how her lips quivered as she attempted to stay composed.
How did he already forget about the news about Victims’ identities starting to leak since the start of the Banshee incident? About the new reporters harassing ex-Victims?
“I’m sorry.” He found himself saying, “I shouldn’t have-”
“No. “ Sabrina sniffled. “You’re right and I’m sorry for acting…for acting the way I’m acting,” Sabrina said. “I’m…alright now,” she lied.
Because she wasn’t alright.
Because something wasn’t right. Something didn’t feel right.
After all, certain things were not fitting with one another.
For starters, the haste in having a New Year’s party.
Alya’s sudden involvement with the planning.
Chloe’s constant meet ups with Alya, with Adrien…with both of them…without her…without Nino…
The whispering and seriousness when they spoke to one another only to smile when they were around her and Nino…
The gathering at the start of the party…
Something was going on…but what was it? “Let’s go look for her together, okay?” Sabrina ended up proposing to Nino, wanting to eagerly shift her thoughts to something new.
“Alright.”
With a soft reassurance to Alya, Sabrina and Nino went off to check the lower floor, only then Sabrina realized she hadn’t checked on her phone.
Making her way past the mingling guests, Sabrina read the chat as she heard the music muffle as Nino closed the door behind them. She let him walk in front of her as she scrolled away.
-unread messages-
Chloe: Someone messed with the surveillance.
Adrien: How is that possible?
Chloe: We’re trying to figure that out as I’m calling and emailing the company about this ridiculous thing!
Chloe: Best in the nation? Utterly ridiculous!
Chloe: Anyways
Chloe: The footage we’re missing is from the time Marinette left the table up until we noticed she was taking a while to come back.
Chloe: I’ll keep you updated and see if we manage to recover the footage. We need to know what it was that Marinette was chasing.
“Sabrina, you said this floor needs a key card to unlock the door, right?” Nino asked, Sabrina looking up from her phone, then noticing Nino’s eyes filled with worry.
“I did.”
“So why is the security off?” Nino asked, showing the powered off lock, causing Sabrina to freeze.
That should never be off.
That wasn’t normal.
That had never happened before.
Sabrina quickly pulled open the door, not expecting for the first thing to see to be the friend they had spent the last half hour desperately searching for.
There, just a few feet away from them was a quietly sobbing Marinette, clinging onto Mlle Kyle as M.Wayne talked with-
How did she miss M.Wayne and Mlle Kyle missing from the party hall?
She should’ve noticed the two most-
No.
That shouldn’t be her main concern, well…yes it should be and yet not now.
What was more concerning-
Sabrina whipped out her phone.
Adrien, didn’t you say your father couldn’t make it to the party?
Adrien: Yes? Why are you asking?
Here’s down here…talking with M.Wayne and Mlle Kyle
And…
We found Marinette.
The minute she finished sending that text, she watched as the trio was already walking away, leaving Gabriel standing by himself in the middle of the dimmed hall.
Sabrina gathered the courage to walk up to the man, wondering if Nino was following her. She didn’t want to approach the smirking man by herself after all.
“M. Agreste.” She managed to bring herself to say. “I thought you weren’t feeling well. Are you sure you should be here by yourself?”
The man finally noticed her, turning his head ever so slightly to acknowledge her, the smile on his lips dropping.
“Mlle Raincomprix. M. Lahiffe. It seems Adrien told all of his friends about my condition.”
“Of course he would. He’s worried about you.” Sabrina bluntly told him, not missing the way something flashed across his eyes. “Is he aware that you’re here, M. Agreste?”
“I thought it would be nice to join some festivities seeing as I was feeling better today. Especially when I found out that Mlle Bourgeois and Adrien organized this event by themselves.”
“Why were M.Wayne and Mlle Kyle here?” Nino asked, finally addressing the elephant in the room. “What happened to Mari-”
“Marinette wasn’t feeling well and I let her guardian know about this.”
“What exactly happened to her, M. Agreste?” Nino asked, Sabrina hoping M Agreste would let Nino’s raise of voice go unnoticed. “We’ve been looking for her all night and-”
“Dad?” Adrien cut off, the three turning to see Adrien barely catching his breath as he entered the hallway. “What are you doing here?” Shortly after, Chloe joined them. “Natalie-”
“I asked Natalie to bring me here after feeling the slightest bit better. I didn’t want to miss the party you and Chloe worked so hard to organize after all.”
Adrien felt his heart swell, Chloe not once lowering her guard upon hearing those words.
She knew those words all too well. Or rather, she recognized that tone all too well.
After all, she had heard that tone all throughout her childhood…
The only tone she ever heard from her own mother when she praised her.
False pride.
“M.Agreste,” Nino tried once again.  “What happened to Marinette? Why-”
“Mlle Bourgeois!” A hotel staff yelled as he attempted to catch his breath after opening the door with a large thud. “We have the foot-”
“Adrikins.” Chloe cut off, turning to her friends as she signaled the staff member to stay quiet. “Why don’t you help your father meet the other guests?” Chloe gave M.Agreste a smile. “Seeing as he is feeling better, I think you should take him to greet the other guests upstairs. Of course, if you think you can, M.Agreste.” Chloe suggested, noticing the slight glare M Agreste gave her while Adrien beamed.
“Of course! “ Adrien smiled as he turned to his father. “Do you think you feel well enough to go greet everyone upstairs?” He asked his father, missing the way his father frowned before giving what was supposed to be a smile.
“I think I can manage. After all, I do want to see the gathering you spent this entire week planning out.” Adrien gave him an even bigger smile.
“We’ll see everyone back upstairs then!” Adrien gleefully stated, quickly guiding his father back upstairs.
“Chloe, what is-” Sabrina tried to ask, only to trail off when the hotel staff from earlier whispered something to Chloe before excusing himself. “Chloe?”
“I’m going to head back to the security room to see the recovered footage our staff managed to get. For now,” Chloe let out a heavy sigh. “For now, just wait for Adrien or I to fill you in. There’s too many things going on and this party isn’t going to run itself.”
“But what about Marinette?” Nino spoke up, hating that Sabrina and him were being left out of whatever it was that was going on.
Wait for her to fill them in?
What was going on?
Why couldn’t she just tell them right then and there?
Weren’t they friends?
“Chloe, when I sent that message, Marinette looked terrified-”
“We can’t focus on that right now Sabrina.”
“What do you mean we can’t-”
“That thing Marinette was following?” Chloe looked at them, mentally preparing for the shock she would receive from the words that were about to come out of her mouth.
But she couldn’t just not tell them when they were both looking at her with distrust.
She had to tell them…she just had too…
“She was following an akuma.”
-
Jason jumped at the sound of the apartment door bursting open with a large thud and Amira sprinting straight to her room.
“Amira!” Bruce tried to grab her attention as he and Selina quickly walked after her.
Jason watched as both attempted to open up the hatch door to her room, only to be met with resistance.
“Maomao, tell us what happened.” Selina tried to coax, only to get a sob as an answer, causing her heart to twist. “Amira…we just want to help.”
“What’s going on?” Jason finally decided to ask, causing both adults to turn to him. “What happened to Amira?”
“That’s what we’re trying to figure out.” Selina spoke up as Bruce kept trying to open up the hatch. “Mr.Agreste got a hold of us when he found-“
“Mr.Agreste? As in Adrien’s dad? What was he doing there?” Jason questioned. “I thought the man never showed himself to those types of events? Hell, he only went to one of your galas and that was years ago!”
“Well, he showed up this time.” Selina answered.
“And somehow he found a way to contact us when Amira wasn’t feeling well.” Bruce noted, Jason watching his brow furrow. “Why did he contact us?”
“Maybe because we are her guardians at the moment instead of the Dupain-Chengs?”
“That’s not what I meant. Why did he directly call us instead of a hotel staff or his secretary-”
“Secretary? Oh! Did you mean that lady with the red highlight on her hair?” Jason asked, remembering Natalie from an old gala from a year ago.
“Now that you mention it, she wasn’t there when we went to find Amira.”
“Nor was she the one to make the call even though she is the one to usually make the calls for him.” Bruce pointed out. “What made him do it this time?”
A phone went off, Bruce realizing it was his own, wondering what Tim needed at this time. “Tim? What-”
“It’s Damian! Damian hacked the zeta tube! And he’s heading to Paris!”
 -
His father barely made it to the party hall before he started coughing up blood, Adrien almost freezing as he watched his father collapse on the stairs. With a quick dial, he called Natalie to find him and take his father back home, something Adrien knew would happen and yet held hope that it didn’t.
Shortly after his father had gone back home, the party started to die down, people slowly bidding their goodbyes and farewells, one by one leaving the hall to head back home.
Soon, it was just the four friends remaining in the hall…or rather Adrien and Chloe and a shaken Sabrina and Nino.
Alya had left shortly after Marinette had left, telling Adrien and Chloe to call her when they had the chance.
“So what happened to that akuma?” Sabrina asked, Adrien turning to face Chloe, his eyes wide and shaky.
“Chloe, what is she talking about? What akuma?” Chloe bit her cheek. How did she forget- oh right his dad.
“Turns out the reason as to why Marinette suddenly left the table was due to spotting an akuma. We barely managed to recover most of the footage, but one thing is clear. Marinette broke down after following the akuma to my suite. From there, the akuma wasn’t seen again, your dad finding her and calling someone, or rather, M. Wayne.”
“Is she alright?” Adrien asked, hating that his excitement on seeing his father up and about made him forget that they were looking for Marinette.
“Has anyone been able to contact her? I’ve been trying to call but no one is answering.” Nino said, trying his best to keep his voice from shaking. Sabrina shook her head. A ding rang from Nino’s phone, Nino quickly whipped it out in hope that it was Marinette only for his shoulders to sink. “Oh. It’s my mom. She’s waiting for me outside.”
“It is getting late.” Chloe pointed out, noticing that her phone was reading 14:45.
“I should be heading home too.” Sabrina stated. “I’m going to wait for my dad at the lobby.”
“Let us know if Marinette calls any of you, okay? I’ll try to call her one more time before heading to sleep.” Nino said before saying goodbye, Sabrina joining him shortly after.
And with that, it was just Chloe and Adrien by themselves in Chloe’s room, the two just staring at the ceiling once Chloe managed to send out one last set of instructions to the hotel employees for the night.
“How the hell did it end up like this?” Chloe asked, wondering if anyone had the answer. “How did an akuma appear right under our noses? We were supposed to have asked her about being Ladybird and not find out Hawkmoth was at our party. ”
That’s right.
They were supposed to have the party, Chloe was supposed to pretend to not feel well and have Marinette bring her to her room. There, Chloe was going to bring up not feeling well due to finding out something regarding Hawkmoth. That he was the reason as to why she was feeling under the weather.
Using that as bait, she was going to tell Marinette about needing to contact a vigilante and wanting to help them, she was going to beg Marinette to help her…to let her help her and the rest of the vigilantes…
About knowing she was Ladybird and asking her to come clean…even if she knew this might affect their relationship…that it might hurt her…
Part of Chloe was glad that their plan failed…and yet…
“Chloe, we couldn’t have predicted an akuma would be spotted during the party, nonetheless Marinette being the one to see it.”
“Alya was supposed to alert us about anything that seemed off from the entrance of the hall or about the people who walked in. If Alya was doing her job properly, then we could’ve-”
“Alya risked her mother’s job to be there tonight. She wasn’t supposed to be there to begin with, remember? But thanks to her, we managed to connect our conclusion of-”
“This doesn’t prove anything!” Chloe screeched, sitting up from her bed. “This doesn’t prove that Hawkmoth is actually planning something big nor did we get confirmation about Marinette being Ladybug! It didn’t do anything!”
“I know you’re frustrated, but Chloe, Alya showed us the evidence. All the evidence is there. The party was just to confirm everything even though we know Mari-”
“But she isn't’ Ladybird!” Chloe screamed. “Because I thought I knew who Ladybird really was!” Chloe yelled. “I thought I knew who she was behind the mask and it definitely wasn’t Marinette!”
“Chloe, what do you mean you thought you knew?” Adrien watched Chloe purse her lips. “Chloe, what do you mean that you knew who Ladybird-”
“This entire time…this entire time I thought Ladybird was a Wayne..”
“What?” Adrien quietly asked. “Chloe, I don’t think there’s a Wayne-“
“Remember back in November, during our stay with the Wayne’s?” A hum. “Remember that video they played during the Gala?”
“What does that video have to do with any of this?” Adrien asked.
I needed to get this off my chest…I can’t keep this from Adrien. I can’t.
“After the video was finished, I told you I needed a break, some fresh air…thanks to that, I ended up overhearing a conversation I wasn't supposed to eavesdrop on.
They were talking about someone named Amira-“
“Amira?” So he wasn’t the only one who knew about that name…wait…
Since the Gala? Chloe heard the name and never told him about it? Then again…he never told her about having heard it around the same-
“Are you listening?”
“I-I am!” Adrien managed to say, scolding himself as Chloe glared at him.
“As I was saying, I ended up listening to Barbara and Tim's conversation regarding-”
“Barbara? As in Babs? From the Christmas party?” Chloe nodded.
“She was arguing with Tim over the video that had played and how Amira was going to get upset when she found out about the recording.” Ah, so she didn’t know about Jason- wait…
Jason? As in…the same Jason that Marinette said died months ago? The best friend that caused her to become Ban- wait… best friend?
Best friend…best friend? Right!
Didn’t…didn’t M.Pennyworth say that Jason’s best friend was his sister? And didn’t that sister move to Paris to-
Oh…
OH.
But…
How was he at the Dupain-Cheng’s residence that day?
Shouldn’t he, well…be dead?
After all, Marinette would never lie about anything like that…wait…
Marinette knew about Jason’s death…she was close to Jason to not only know about him, but also the other Wayne’s… she moved to Paris around the same time as Jason’s sister Amira-
Oh…oh no…
Oh fuck.
“-if anyone catches her bad side, she’ll resent them, hold a grudge against them. But that isn’t why-”
Adrien opened his mouth to speak. “Chloe..can I say something real quick>”
“Adrien, please.” I can’t believe it,” Just…listen.” Chloe pleaded.
I knew it… He’s not paying attention.
“Chloe, we need-”
“Let me finish this Adrien..please.” Chloe begged, even when she knew Adrien had something to say.
“As I was saying, I didn’t bring up Amira’s supposed temper for no reason. It was what they said after, a place they mentioned, that made me believe Ladybird was this Amira they mentioned.” Chloe brought her knees to her chest. “They mentioned Amira being in Paris, but more specifically, how Amira was protecting Paris.
They mentioned how she held a grudge against the Justice League-”
“The Justice League?” Adrien almost shrieked. “As in the recently created hero group? Well, not recent, but- that Justice League? What would they want with-”
“They wanted to keep an eye on her by making her join them. But instead of just asking her to be a part of their association, they apparently kidnapped, making her distrust them completely…
But just as you mentioned…the Justice League is an association of heroes, people who work to protect the people of Earth…and if they had approached Amira to keep an eye on her, then that must mean they were aware of her being a hero, well, vigilante…
And if that did mean Amira was indeed a hero…it explained a photo I saw during our stay at the manor.”
“Photo?” Adrien asked.
She solidified her conclusion with a single photo? Never mind that, he needed to tell her what he just realized!
“I n-never mentioned this because…well…It was embarrassing, utterly embarrassing.” She said under her breath as she calmed herself down. “The night before the party, I couldn’t sleep, so I snuck into the kitchen and on my way back…I got lost.” Adrien stifled a laugh, so Chloe continued.
Knew he was going to laugh. “I ended up going into a room that wasn’t mine.
But it wasn’t just any room. It was a room filled with photos of a girl around our age. A girl who was close to Bruce’s sons. A girl who grew up in that manor and whose life just stopped out of nowhere only to be continued by a single photo.
But not just any photo, but a photo from the top of the Eiffel Tower.”
“Chloe, anyone can get-”
“Adrien, I’m not referring to the type of photos any tourist around 24:00 can access. I’m talking about a photo captured past 24:00, like 01:00 or 02:00.
A photo that requires going past the floor in which the lift stops. A photo where only certain people can access at that hour: one of Paris’ vigilantes.
And since there was no other explanation, that had to be it. It’s what I believed.
Ladybird…
That Ladybird was Amira… Amira Wayne…
But then Alya brought this.” Chloe gestured to nothing as she held back tears. “And now…now I don’t know what to do, what to believe in…” Adrien sat next to Chloe, joining her wallowing. “I want to trust Mari…but now…I don’t know what to do.”
Adrien felt as Chloe leaned against his shoulder, knowing he had to take his own information off his chest.
It was now or never.
“Ever since Alya brought this to our attention,” he felt Chloe fix herself. “I’ve been doubting something that had been lingering in my mind ever since we returned from Gotham.
Just like you, I also had my head wrapped around a girl named Amira-”
“What?” Chloe straightened up. “When did you hear the- wait. Was this what you were referring to before Alya entered the room the other day?” Adrien nodded. “Go on.”
As if he had any other choice.
“These past few months, I tried to push this one thought to the back of my head and forget about it.
But then the Banshee incident happened. The kidnapping. The Christmas gift exchange…
Then Mari’s sudden disappearance…
The Wayne's somehow getting involved in all of these things.”
“Now that you mentioned it…”
“But to be honest, nothing really connected until you mentioned the video from the Gala…Chloe, were you aware that video was pre-recorded?”
“Pre-recorded?”
“After the gala, M.Pennyworth mentioned something…somethings.
He mentioned that video having been pre-recorded months ago…right before Jason’s death.”
“Jason’s- Adrien. We saw him at the Christmas-”
“Exactly. We saw him, we interacted with him…he is alive. And we know M.Pennyworth would never lie about something like that…nor would Marinette.
Especially when we know she barely snaps like she did when Lila mentioned knowing her best friend, her brother. Of being there that night at the gala.
She not only confronted Lila, but she was crying over Jason, she got overwhelmed just recalling his death…to the point she became akumatized…”
Adrien hated Chloe’s reaction to this. He hated how she was slowly processing this information…the way she was painfully approaching the same conclusion he was getting to…
Is this how Alya felt when she found out about Marinette being Ladybird?
“After the whole Banshee incident and the Wayne helping to find Marinette when she was kidnapped, I remembered something Nino told me that day.
He mentioned that Richard and Wally had referred to Marinette as Amira…and if she was being referred to Amira by Richard and Wally, people whom she holds dearly and was best friends with Jason…Marinette even calling him her brother…moving to Paris to mourn said brother…then that could only mean one thing…”
“She was never Marinette to begin with…” Chloe whispered. “Not only is she Ladybird..not only did she hide from us about being Ladybird…”
“But she didn’t trust us enough with her actual identity…” Adrien concluded. “She couldn’t trust us in keeping her identity of being a Wayne…”
So her name is Amira Wayne…
“So I was right..” Adrien heard Chloe murmur. “ So I was on the right track.”
“The right track?” Adrien asked her, watching as she got up, walking up her closet and exposing the ABP board she had been making at the back. “Chloe…how long have you been making this?” He asked as he approached the bulletin board strapped with red strings and an array of photos.
As he glanced at the table beneath the board, he took another look, feeling the world around him stop, quickly recognizing the item on it. “Chloe. Where did you get this?”
Chloe felt her heart stop when she saw what Adrien was referring to, quickly dashing to pick it up before he could. She was a second too late.
“I can’t believe you out of all people saw this!” Chloe dramatically said as she pried the phone from Adrien’s hand, stuffing it into her pocket.“Ridiculous! Utterly ridiculous! Can you imagine what would happen if it was someone else who saw my old phones from-“
“Chloe. Drop the act.”
“Come on Adrikins! I get you don’t have many things to tease me about, but-”
“We’ve known each other since we were kids and I know all of the gifts you’ve ever gotten from your father whether it was the random pen from his office or the latest jewel on the market. You have never once not shown me the latest thing you got.
“This one-“
“That isn’t a phone that is on the market and I should know since my father has declined every promo offer relating to phones. And out of all the promos, I never saw that model.”
Chloe bit her tongue. Should she continue to try and find her way out of- no.
This was Adrien. But if she told him, then that would mean betraying her fellow teammates.
Betraying- right…
Ladybird is Mari-Amira…
What was she supposed to do? “So I’m going to ask you again, where did you get that-“
“Kid, as much as I love and care about you, sometimes you make me wonder if you actually have a brain or not.” Plagg casually said as he appeared before both Adrien and Chloe.
“Plagg!” “A Kwami?”
The duo looked at each other.
“Honey Bee! Don’t just sit by! Help me out here!” Plagg whined, causing Pollen to emerge from her hiding place.
“Pollen!”
“I’m sorry my Queen, but we couldn’t keep quiet when you two have figured out so many things already!”
“Plagg, what’s going-”
“It’s Duusu.” Plagg started.
“Who?” Chloe asked.
“Duusu -one of our fellow Kwami- we can sense them again after so many years!” Pollen said.
“Sense? What do you mean-”
“For the past hundred of years, we’ve been looking for Duusu as they got separated from us during a raid on one of the Guardian Temples. Since then, Master Fu has been trying to regain them when he got a faint signal from them in Paris years ago. But since then we haven’t been able to track them.”
“Until now!”
“So shouldn’t you be happy you found-”
“That’s where the good news ends, kit.” Plagg wished he wasn’t the one to tell his holder about this. “Before their signal went out, they managed to let us know about one thing.”
“Which was?” Chloe asked.
“Duusu…” Pollen sniffled. “Duusu told us he was with Nooroo.”
“Isn’t that a good thing?” Adrien asked. Pollen shook her head.
“Nooroo, he’s Hawkmoth’s Kwami.” Plagg informed them…”In other words…”
“Hawkmoth has Duusu…he has another miraculous…fuck.”
--
“Recognized: Ladybird A01,” the automated voice spoke as Damian walked out of the booth, letting out a breath he didn’t know he was holding in, watching his breath become visible in the air.
The code he reworked…worked… good.
Now standing outside the booth, Damian wondered what people saw in this place, readjusting his small bag over his shoulder.
It looked just like any other city he had been to if he were to be completely honest: bright, loud and yet silent due to the late hours of the night.
But at least he could cross off Paris from his bucket list of cities to step foot in.
Finding the bakery didn’t take long.
Thanks to the research he did beforehand, Damian whipped out a printed out map of the neighborhood and memorized the route before tucking it back into his bag.
Quickly making his way towards it, Damian let out a scoff as he landed on the rooftop.
To think the building his sister was residing in has no type of security besides the two cameras by the entrance of the bakery on the ground floor.
It was there and then that Damian decided he must speak with his father regarding the poor security in the building his sister was living in.
Why was there no type of security for an Al Ghul-
Damian found himself puzzled over his pausing of his current thought.
An Al Ghul heir
An Al Ghul.
Amira didn’t consider herself that, even going as far as rejecting their own grandfather as family…
To think she considered the orphans their father decided to pity on as actual family rather than her own blood.
Damian pushed the thought to the back of his mind.
He was here to see his sister and to investigate why their father came here instead of staying at Gotham.
To figure out why their father decided to follow his sister and not stay in Gotham to train him.
To ask his sister why she wasn’t in Gotham…
Why she wasn’t Robin…
And what she was doing in Paris…
Damian frowned at how easily he was able to lift the skylight window without tripping any alarm, slowly slipping into his sister's bedroom.
He didn’t expect to see his sister curled up in the middle of her room, a hairless cat attempting to cheer her up as it nudged her hand.
But it didn’t take long before the cat turned towards him and started to hiss, but his sister didn’t move one bit.
What was going on?
What happened to the sister that glowered at him?
Where was she?
Because if this was her…
“Pathetic.”

Isabella Martha Wayne
IMW
CHAPTER 1
Isabella Martha Wayne
Father: Bruce Wayne
Mother: Alora Furan (Dead)
Born on: 12-7-XXX1
Blood Type: O+
12-7-XXX1
Once upon a time in the bustling city of Gotham, Bruce Wayne, also known as Batman, welcomed a precious addition to his life—a beautiful baby girl named Isabella. From the moment Isabella entered the world, Bruce swore to protect her, to shield her from the darkness that haunted Gotham's streets.
As Isabella grew, she became the center of attention for her brothers—Richard, and Jason. Alfred, Bruce's trusted confidant and butler, had been with him since the beginning, serving as a pillar of support. Richard, also known as Nightwing, and Jason, who had taken on the mantle of Robin, had fought alongside Batman, battling villains and protecting Gotham.
13-7-XXX1
Bruce came home with a newborn in his arms protecting her against the cold winds. As he entered Dick and Jason came running into the hallway.
Dick- What the hell B? You got a call just ran off!
Jason- Yeah… What are you holding?
Isabella starts crying due to the shouting.
Dick/Jason- Holy hell! Is that a baby?
Alfred- Master Bruce… good heavens! What is that- is that a child you have there Master Bruce?
Bruce- Alfred, boys, meet Isabella Martha Wayne, my daughter.
Alfred-Master Bruce would you please explain this… development?
Jason- Where did she come from?
Bruce- Just let me put her in the bed then I’ll explain
Bruce carefully laid Isabella Martha Wayne in her crib, ensuring she was comfortable and safe before turning his attention back to his bewildered family. As he gathered them in the living room, the atmosphere was filled with a mixture of curiosity and concern.
Taking a deep breath, Bruce began to recount the events that had led to Isabella's arrival in their lives.
Bruce- I had received a call from a hospital telling me that I had a daughter and her mother had abandoned her after telling them the father’s name, mine. When I got there, they confirmed after a few tests.
Jason's face softened, and he glanced at the crib down the hallway, where Isabella's cries had subsided, thanks to Alfred's soothing presence.
Jason-So, she's... our sister?
He asked, his voice filled with a mix of disbelief and wonder.
Bruce nodded, a slight smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
Dick, always the one to process information quickly, spoke up, his concern now replaced with a protective instinct.
Dick-What do we need to do, Bruce? How can we help?
Bruce's gratitude swelled as he looked at his two adopted sons, standing before him with unwavering support.
Bruce- First and foremost, we need to ensure Isabella's well-being. We'll need to adjust our routines, provide her with love and care, and keep her safe from any dangers that may come our way.
Alfred (ever the pillar of wisdom)- Master Bruce, I suggest we reach out to trusted professionals who can guide us through the legal processes and help establish Isabella's rightful place in our family."
Spending time with Isabella, they were immediately smitten by her innocent charm. Her sparkling blue eyes, reminiscent of her father's, seemed to hold a world of wonders within them. They showered her with love and affection, each of them coming up with their own unique nicknames—cupcake, bluebell, Isa, Bella, and pixie pop.
12-11-XXX2
It had been shortly after he had returned from patrol. The door to his room had opened and tear-filled blue eyes stared at him, he could see her clinging on to her soft toy. He got up and walked towards her, she was still lingering in the doorway. Kneeling to reach her height he asks softly, “nightmare?”
She nods, tears still streaming down her face.
He looks at her unsure of what to do.
“Would you like to go back to sleep?” he asks quietly.
She shakes her head vehemently.
He still is unsure of what to do. Acting on a random whim he stands and picks her up. She clings to him and he definitely doesn’t marvel over how she fits perfectly in his arms.
He takes her to the library and picks out The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, sitting on his favourite armchair he seats her on his lap and starts to read to her, “Once there were four children whose names were Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy…”
As he read the words of "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" to her, the little girl nestled comfortably on his lap, her tears slowly subsiding. His voice filled the air, transporting them both to the magical world of Narnia, where adventure and wonders awaited. Each sentence he spoke seemed to have a calming effect on her, as if the story itself possessed the power to chase away the remnants of her nightmare.
As the tale unfolded, the young girl's imagination began to take flight. Her tear-streaked face transformed into a canvas of curiosity and fascination. She listened intently, her wide blue eyes shining with wonderment, completely engrossed in the enchanting narrative. The man couldn't help but be captivated by her innocent enthusiasm, his heart warming at the sight.
Together, they ventured through the wardrobe into a wintry Narnia, where they encountered the majestic lion, Aslan, and witnessed the valiant efforts of the Pevensie children to overthrow the White Witch's tyrannical rule. With each turn of the page, the man's voice grew more animated, his tone reflecting the bravery, friendship, and sacrifices depicted in the story.
As the final chapters approached, the little girl's eyelids grew heavy, exhaustion finally taking hold. She leaned against his chest, her small body relaxed in his embrace, as he continued reading. He couldn't bring himself to stop the story prematurely; it was as if the act of storytelling had become their own private refuge from the world's troubles.
When he reached the end, he closed the book gently, his voice fading into silence. The room seemed to hold its breath for a moment, the remnants of the tale lingering in the air. Then, he looked down at the slumbering child in his arms, her soft breaths creating a soothing rhythm against his chest.
Carefully, he rose from the armchair, cradling her with tenderness, and made his way back to her room. The moon cast a gentle glow through the window, illuminating the path ahead. As he approached her bed, he paused, hesitating for a moment before placing her down as gently as he could.
Tucking her in, he watched her sleep peacefully, her face now free from the worry that had plagued her before. He couldn't help but feel a sense of protectiveness toward her, a desire to shield her from any harm. It was a feeling he had never experienced before, yet it felt surprisingly natural.
Leaning down, he pressed a soft kiss to her forehead, whispering, "Goodnight, little one." He lingered for a moment, his hand brushing a strand of hair away from her face, before quietly retreating from the room.
Him reading to her becomes an event. She drags Dick into it too, whenever he isn’t with his Teen Titans in New York that is and Jason. Alfred provides them with milk and cookies and he reads to them every night before patrol. They stop once she falls asleep and they take her up to bed before patrol.
About a year after they start this routine, he returns from patrol to find a crying Marinette in his room. She just cries harder once she sees him. He holds her until she falls asleep resolving to talk to her in the morning.
He takes her to the cave the next morning, after breakfast, with Dick and tells her about Batman and Robin. When they head back to the manor she heads to her room and doesn’t come out before sundown (Alfred took her lunch to her room and had somehow talked her into eating). He spends the whole day worrying about if telling her was the wrong thing to do. She comes down for dinner and after dinner she still drags them to the library. She doesn’t fall asleep like she usually does, instead when he completes a chapter Marinette asks them to wait, runs out and returns, panting, a few minutes later with something colourful in her hand. She then hands it to them. It's a thread with beads on it. She hands Dick two of these, one has black and blue and the other is purple, black and yellow, Jason’s red-green-yellow and his has blue, purple and black.
She grins up at them and says cheerfully.
Isa- lucky charms. Jason’s is like Robin, Dick’s Nightwing and yours is Batman.”
“And the other one?” Dick asks
“Batgirl,” she exclaims cheerfully.
Bruce as always is amazed at her never-ending optimism, kindness and hopefulness. Dick offers her a sunshine smile of his own, hugs her and says, “Thank you Sunshine.”
Once she lets go of Dick she looks at him with her big blue eyes, and Bruce ruffles her hair and gives her a smile.
B- I’ll carry it with me at all times.
Isa smiles wider (something Bruce wasn’t aware was possible) and says goodnight before skipping back to her room.

Lesson 8: Find What's Worth your Protection
Previous
Random: *glares at Marin* Marin: *blinks* … Jon: *leans slightly towards her* what’s her deal? Marin: if looks could kill.. *grins* well, I still wouldn’t care but- Jon: she’s glaring at you like you killed her mother. Marin: *blanks* …. Jon: did.. did you ki- Marin: *snaps her attention towards him* no???? *smiles warily* at least I don’t think so- Jon: Marin! Marin: *pushes his shoulder playfully* what??? *looks back at the Random* I had many missions, who knows, maybe shes a cousin or whatever. Jon: *groans into his hands* ~~~~~~~ Marin: …you’re not fazed by this. Jon: you’re Damian’s sister. Marin: I’ve done considerably worse than my brother has. Jon: again, you’re Damian’s sister. Marin: …which means? Jon: that you both were raised to be assassins and I? Don’t? Care? Marin: …you’re not fazed by my molds. Jon: *grimaces* Damian kind of.. explained the situation. Marin: *blinks* …did he? Jon: yeah… Marin: … Jon: sorry-? Marinette: *shrugs* its whatever, so what are we going to do later? Jon: uhh- homework-??? Marinette: sweet!! Let’s go. Jon: uh-huh..
Damian stared at the letter laid across his desk.  He had read it, reread once, twice, thrice, and yet he still couldn’t fully process the words.
“ I don’t want to be found so don’t look for me.  I am going to be who I want, I’m going to act how I want, and I’m not going to force myself to do things that will make me feel terrible.  You will no longer be able to pressure me, and that means you will NOT pressure someone else instead. ”
Was he truly that terrible?  Was it truly his fault for pressuring her and unintentionally pushing her away in the process?
“ I love my dearest little brother.  Stay strong and know that I will one day visit.  For now, I’m figuring things out for myself, and I finally feel like I have a grasp on my life. ”
He reread those few sentences over and over and over again reassuring himself.  She would return, she would come back.  She never broke a promise, not once.  He scowled when he had read the last part of the letter, Jon was afraid of him!  But then again, Jon still hadn’t told him despite the fact that Marin had been gone for three weeks now.  It was infuriating.  Speaking of Jon, he hadn’t heard his annoying voice at all yet, something was up.
Damian tucked the note away in his desk almost reverently before he stood up and marched out of his room.  He would check the kitchen first, but the only one there was Beast Boy.
“Where is Kent?”  He demanded while crossing his arms.  Beast Boy turned to him with a confused frown before he shrugged.
“No clue man.  Last I heard he had a “private call” to make, something about someone calling him, or whatever.”  Damian’s frown deepened.  It didn’t matter, he would just head to the training room, nothing defeating the highest level of holographic enemies wouldn’t fix.
______ Jon was on a secret mission, well, secret in the fact that he just didn’t want anyone to know what he was doing.  What was he doing, well, currently he was trying not to let the craziest of the al Ghul-Waynes cut his head off.  “Hey, hey!  It’s me Marin!  Please don’t kill me!”  He shouted, keeping his hands up and forward in a show of peace and surrender.  Her eyes were dark and predatory as she studied him.
“What are you doing here?”  She growled, baring her teeth in a way that was definitely threatening.
“Is it so wrong to want to make sure my friend is okay after weeks of radio silence?”
He could hear her heart skip slightly at that, she was surprised.  “What makes you think we’re friends?!”  She snarled, pushing the blade that no doubt had bits and pieces of Kryptonite in it, further against his neck.  He was so screwed.  Why did he think this was a good idea again?
“The fact that we spent years together attending Gotham Academy and you know, our side job.”  He replied nervously, making sure to keep perfectly still unless he really did want that dagger slitting his throat.
Marin let out a small hum, thinking over his words while allowing the dagger to stay firmly planted against his neck.  “Fine, your answer is acceptable.”  And just like that, the dagger was removed and hidden in one swift motion.
Jon let out a sigh of relief, moving slightly away from Marin to catch his breath.  “Damian still thinks he’s scarier than you and I still don’t know how to convince him he’s wrong.”  Jon gasped, cupping his throat as if that would protect it.  He could feel the slight sting against his next from where the blade laid across the skin.
“Damian assumes much and understands little.  He will not allow himself to believe that others can be feared more than himself.  That’s one thing that will never change.”  Marin stated with a roll of her eyes,  “Now, why are you really here?”  She demanded with a simple raise of her brow.
“Is it really too much to believe that I just came to check-up on you?”  He asked, trying to show how sincere he was.  All he really knew was that there was a falling out between Marin and the rest of her family that was so bad that she refused to come back.  He wouldn’t pry or ask details, but he wanted to make sure his friend was okay.  Her heart quickened slightly.
“As it’s coming from you, I guess not.”  She replied flippantly.  Jon honestly could not tell what she was thinking, she’d always been hard to read.
“So while I’m here, why don’t we go somewhere?”  Marin sent him a sharp glare, and Jon quickly put his hands up in surrender once more. “Somewhere public of course.  And it doesn’t have to be somewhere you visit often!  I just wanted to catch up with you is all.”
“If you try anything, I will disassemble you piece by piece with my strongest and dullest kryptonite knife.”  She watched the way the boy paled, enjoying the way his Adam's apple bobbed as he swallowed back his fear. Why did he think this was a good idea again?
Marin gave him a sharp nod before she turned on her heel and started walking away.  Jon stood there for a few moments more, still frozen in shock before he hurried after her.  “Wait up Marin!  Come on, it’s not like we’re in school right now.”
Marin just rolled her eyes, a small smirk on her lips as she watched Jon running after her.  Once Jon was right at her side, her smile was gone without a trace.  “Sooo…” Jon began, side eyeing her with a large grin.
“None of your business.”  She replied sternly.
“Come on, I didn’t even ask anything yet.”  He whined.  Marin rolled her eyes, but never faltered in her steps.
“Doesn’t matter, the answer is still the same.”
Jon sighed and crossed his arms, “I just wanted to know if you like anyone you’ve met here.”  They walked in silence for a few minutes, before she finally answered.  It wasn’t that she hated this type of silence, she just liked making people wait in suspense.
“There are a few people that I’ve come to tolerate.”  She replied flippantly.  His eyes lit up with curiosity.
“Oooh, is that so?  And what have these people done for you to even “tolerate” their existence?”
“Wouldn’t you like to know.”
“I would, that’s why I asked.”  Goodness, she forgot just how infuriating this farmboy was.
“Well isn’t that just a shame, guess you’ll just have to suffer in your curiosity.”  She mocked as she weaved through the crowded streets with ease, all while Jon attempted to stay by her side.
“You never were the merciful twin.”  He muttered to himself.
“Only when it suits what I need.”  She shrugged, stretching her arms slightly.  Jon gave a small exasperated huff before they continued walking together in silence.  It lasted all of five minutes before Jon slightly nudged her to gain her attention.  She raised a silent questioning brow at him, usually he just called her name.  She watched as he tilted his head slightly to the left in the direction of a middle aged woman that was glaring at her, and specifically her.
* Marin blinked a few times, trying to see if the woman was familiar at all, because no one glared at her like that without a reason.  She felt as Jon moved in slightly, whispering next to her ear, “What’s her deal?”
“If looks could kill,” she started, a small grin creeping up her face, “well, I still wouldn’t care but-”
“She’s glaring at you like you killed her mother or something.”  Jon muttered jokingly, cutting her off.   Marin didn’t falter in her steps, but it was a near thing as any signs of amusement quickly fled her face.  Jon actually pauses and stared at her with a mix of fear and worry in his eyes.  “Did…did you ki-”
Marin felt her body snap to attention, a jolt of fear rushing through her.  For a second, she thought Bruce was there, waiting to catch her slipping up so he could finally turn her away.  But he wasn’t here, she needed to remember that.  He. Isn’t. Here.  “No?”  She tried to give Jon a smile, pulling in as much of Rebecca as possible, but came out as more of a grimace than anything.  “At least I don’t think so…”  She said trailing off slightly, trying to recall if she actually had done that.  Rebecca was always getting lost in thought, she was always the dreamer.
“Marin!”  Jon hollered in shock.  She needed to focus right now, maybe Rebecca was the wrong mold to use.  But she was also very nice and playful, so she’ll stick with it.  Rebecca Marin playfully shoved Jon at his shoulder, before continuing her walk, almost skipping down the street, forcing Jon to pick up the pace after her once more.
“What?”  She said with a smile, glancing at the seemingly random person one last time before looking forward.  “I had many missions.  Who knows, maybe she’s a cousin or whatever.”  She said in an almost playful tone.  She could hear Jon’s muffled groan, but she didn’t care, she just needed to get away from this place.  Get away from the people she may have harmed when she was in the League.
Jon watched Marin, he could tell she was currently using one of her molds, it was a little jarring at times, but he understood why she did it.  As they walked farther and farther away from the crowds he watched as she slowly removed her mask, returning once more to being Marin.  He had seen her do this so many times when they were at school or on missions, but no matter how many times he watched her do it, it never took away the sense of hurt he felt for her.
They stayed silent for another long while, traveling everywhere yet nowhere at once.  This time, it was Marin to interrupt the silence, “...You’re not fazed by this?”  Her tone was flat, not giving away any of her emotions.  Marin was officially back.
“You’re Damian’s sister.”  He replied with a nonchalant shrug.
“I’ve done considerably worse than my brother has.”  She countered.
“Again, you’re Damian’s sister.”  He responded as if that explained everything.
With a small huff of frustration she asked, “Which means?”
“That you and your brother were both raised to be assassins and I? Don’t? Care?”  Marinette watched from the corner of her eyes as he tilted his head slightly with an unsure, almost sarcastic, smile.
“So, you're not fazed by my molds?”  She asked, raising her brow in challenge.
Jons smile became more of a grimace as he glanced away uncomfortably.  “Damian kind of…explained the situation,” he answered hesitantly.
Marin really shouldn’t have been surprised, but as she blinked at Jon, she could admit (never out loud) that she was a little shocked. “...Did he?”  Damian always tried to avoid talking about the League, and especially her molds.  Damian hated them, so it was a little shocking that he would even tell someone else about them rather than pretending she had Multi-Personality Disorder….Now that she thought about it-NO!  She wasn’t going down that rabbit hole right now.
“Yeah…Sorry?”  he still wasn’t looking her in the eye.  She didn’t like that, but who cares.  It’s not like it really mastered in the end.  When she looked away from Jon and back to the street in front of her, she noticed that she was in front of the bakery.  Well, if he wasn't fazed, then it didn’t really matter who she was right now.
So, with a shrug of her shoulders and a lightness to her step that always seemed to follow Marinette, she replied.  “It’s whatever, so what are we going to do later?” She asked with her brightest smile, it almost felt real when she watched Jon’s reaction to her switch.
“Uhhh, homework?”  he asked more than stated, obviously unsure where this was headed.
“Sweet!  Let’s go.”  She cheered as she grabbed ahold of his arm and started dragging him towards the bakery, and away from the eyes she could feel following them.
“Uh-huh.”  Jon let her tug him forward with a roll of his eyes, his farm drawl coming out slightly.  She would never admit this out loud, but it was nice to have an old friend teammate here, and hopefully for once, she wouldn’t be the reason they got killed.

My Life is One Complication After Another 5
Chapter 5
I’m going to try to post more this year and finish up a few of my started to fics so sorry for not updating this in a while
First *** Previous
~~~~~~~~~~
In his defense it had been only three hours, but he still doesn't understand how his newest child seems to be completely missing. They had all noticed she was missing during breakfast but none thought much of it. They all thought she was still in her room, when they looked she wasn't there
Queue them searching the entire Manor, while Damian searched the grounds, and Tim trying to trace her locations.
Now that lead to more questions than answers.
The last location her phone showed was somewhere in Starling City at 3:22 am and then it disappeared.
He and Tim were now attempting to trace her, Dick was pacing, while Jason was on the phone trying to call Roy.
The location history made no sense. One minute she is in Gotham, the next time her phone gives a signal she is in Starling, and the next she's gone.
"Damn..." Tim cursed, more to himself than to anyone in particular.
"What is it?" Bruce asked watching the screen.
"She's Pinky, remember." Tim stated as if that made everything make sense.
"Just spell it out Replacement." Jason grumbled still unable to get a hold of Roy, apparently.
"She's the one who erased every mention of a magical war in Paris. We've never interacted with her as Bats, but..." He held up a little red drive. "She put all the information imbedded into this drive, which she gave me the second day we met..."
Timothy's words hung in the air. The unspoken words rang in his mind like an alarm.
She knows.
He was beginning to spiral.
He's only had custody of his daughter for a week, and she's gone. From what Tim is saying she can hide from them if she wants. She could be anywhere. She could have been taken and she knows who they are. He didn't prep her, or even tell her himself.
No. She figured it out on her own and knows they are hiding it from her.
"If I may Master Bruce?" Alfred cleared his throat, effectively pulling everyone's attention. Breaking him from his thoughts, he nodded. "All of you have treated the girl as if she is made of glass."
"She is a civilian, we have..." Dick started but Alfred stopped him.
"Yet, from what I have heard she is not. She knows of your nightly activities." He rose a knowing brow.
"Alfred, you know more, don't you?" Bruce questioned.
"Even if I do. The young Miss should be the one to tell you." With that he turned and made his way back up to the manor.
"Tim keep tracing, Jason get a hold of Roy. I'm going to Starling, maybe Oliver knows where she might be." He grumbled.
---
"Why does everything always seem to be so much easier when you’re here Bug?" Green Arrow asked as the three of them were coming back in from patrol.
"It's the creation and balance of the Ladybug Miraculous. It quite literally tries to even everything out around it. Essentially meaning because there’s usually so much wrong going on in the city. So, it mellows it out to the point where it’s almost nonexistent it seems." She explains sitting down at one of the desks letting her transformation fall.
"I should probably head back." She let her head slightly hang lost in thought.
"Come on Nettie, Bruce is probably looking for you anyways, why don't you come and have breakfast. Laurel's been wanting to see you anyways." Oliver extended an invitation to which she gladly accepted.
Oliver took his car, while Marinette went with Roy on his motorcycle. The entire ride back she leaned into him comfortable and finally having a moment of peace since moving.
She knows her family means well, but they’re almost suffocating. And unfortunately she has a feeling the suffocation isn’t about to end.
The second she stepped in Starling, she remembered to put her phone into an untraceable mode due to miraculous magic. It however didn’t cross her mind to switch that off quite yet.
They rode back to the Queen estate where both Oliver and Laurel were waiting for them. She knows Roy took the long route, in order to help her ease her mind. As soon as she takes off the helmet Laurel envelops her in a hug.
"Nettie, it has been too long. And frankly if these two knuckleheads weren’t going to bring you I was."
"You know I’m only a phone call away Laurel." Marinette laughed, as the first genuine smile came back on her lips for the entire week.
"Why don’t we get some breakfast on and then tell me about all the drama which must've likely kicked up."
"Deal. Berry crepes?"
"If you’re making them, Bug, definitely." Roy leaned over and gave her shoulder a squeeze before settling into a side hug.
She looked up at him and gave him a knowing smirk. "You’re helping Speedy, come on."
She grabbed his wrist and dragged him knowingly to the kitchen.
Marinette would pop in to Starling almost as often as Roy did to Paris, and that would be almost biweekly. So Marinette knew exactly where everything would be in that kitchen. As she quickly whipped up the batter, she had Roy slice up fruits and the jams to create the filling.
The three of them were in the kitchen just casually talking, Oliver had of course gone somewhere that wasn't the kitchen, where he knew he would end up getting scolded by Marinette.
Can he cook, yes, did he usually get into Marinette's way, also yes.
He didn’t come back until they called him back to finally eat something.
They sat and talked until they all realized they were restless. So the four of them got up and left for the rarely used in home gym. Mostly because everyone in the house instead use thugs, mercenary‘s, and other meta-humans as punching bags, so the home gym didn’t get used all that much.
"You and me first, Nettie." Laurel pulled her to the mat in the center.
Kaalki and Tikki were floating around, the latter decided to sit on Roy's shoulder, both nibbling on a cookie. Oliver had disappeared again.
She smiled before falling into position facing Laurel.
---
Bruce didn't get nervous, much less worried, but Oliver was however getting on his nerves.
He has a daughter to find and bring home, and he is not co-operating in the slightest.
Instead of meeting him anywhere, Oliver told him to come over by the estate, which he did. He didn’t even make it inside, seeing as Oliver was waiting for him at the door.
"She’ll be home by dinner." He was nearly expressionless, stating a fact more than anything else, and Bruce hated it.
"I don’t even know how she got here, Oliver. If she’s even still here, I need to find her I..." He spoke in measured breaths, but his mind raced.
"You and the boys are suffocating her, Bruce. She’s not a civilian, you’re just too damn blind to see that. She understands more than you give her credit for."
"Oliver it’s not that I don’t trust her or I don’t see her worth. I..." He was once again cut off by the Green Arrow.
"Bruce talk to your daughter, before she ends up putting you on your ass." With that Oliver turned and went back inside, closing the door behind him. Which left Bruce annoyed and bewildered all the same time.
Of everyone in the league he and Oliver have the most in common. He knows he’s not the best dealing with his emotions or those of others, hell Oliver is not much better. Yet he knows if he doesn't change something, if this continues as is, he knows he might lose his daughter.
But this.
This is his family, his child. But at the same time he really doesn’t know what to do.
His children have always needed him, they needed both aspects of him. But her, she’s different from the others.
That he knows.
And not just the fact that she seems to be able to process her emotions. There’s a weight on her, one he feels he should recognize, but hasn’t quite yet.
So he returned back to Gotham. And the first thing he did was sit at the Bat-computer, and searched the Starling vigilantes. And a recent photo nearly made him panic.
There’s a girl in a dark red and black suit, the plating almost resembling an insects armor more than something man-made. Over her right shoulder was a clearly unconscious Aarsenal, and in her right hand was his bow. On the side was both Green Arrow and Black Canary looking like two immensely proud parents.
All he felt though was anger towards Oliver queen for making his daughter a vigilante. And panic for that exact same reason.
He needs to talk to his daughter.
No capes/actors AU came to me via a dream and I have since been obsessing over it,,
I have so many ideas over it but my fav is currently that the Jasons are brothers because of the quick switch between seasons/robins and how they couldn’t use the same actor for older Jason so they just asked his older brother to be Red Hood Jason, Little Jason is way younger because they were trying to emphasize how small street kid Jason was
Part 1
Prompt:
It’s not that Jason forgot, per se.
But between smuggling a toddler out of the League of Assassins, trekking halfway across the world, and finding a suitable hiding place that’s also child friendly… well, it kind of slipped his mind that he’s supposed to be… dead.
Something that comes back to bite him in the ass when he takes Dami out for some ice cream and just so happens to run into non other than Brucie-fucking-Wayne
#look I’ve found a new fave trope and it’s Brucie Wayne having to keep up his act while internally LOSING HIS SHIT#Jason isn’t very into the whole revenge thing here#his mind is 85 parts ‘keep Dami safe’ 5 parts ‘kill joker asap’ and 10 parts ‘avoid bats at any cost’#Jason doesn’t know who Damian’s father is#dealer’s choice if Jason establishes himself as Dami’s dad or older brother#his build certainly makes him look old enough#if you don’t look at his baby face lol#Jason runs into Brucie and goes straight into survival mode#Damian who is very observant for a toddler immediately clocks Brucie as THREAT based on Jason’s reaction#Brucie blue screens and desperately tries not to lose Jason in the crowd#jason is absolutely trying to lose Brucie in the crowd#while clutching Damian like his life depends on it#for all he knows it does#the visceral terror that your pseudo dad will take away your little brother/baby#Bruce who just wants to know if he’s hallucinating again: W A I T#jason who is terrified of being put in Arkham for killing people: no FUCKING WAY#hm maybe Jason plays the ‘I’m not Jason’ game again#it’s not gonna hold for long#but Bruce absolutely thinks that Damian is Jason’s bio child for a while and he’s on the WARPATH#Jason was sixteen when he died and never showed any interest in dating so literally every red flag is waving in brucie’s mind simultaneousl#or maybe Jason manages to get away and all Brucie is left with is the memory of his supposedly dead son#running away from him#and clutching a tiny kid#prompts#jason todd#batfamily#Damian wayne#batdad#brucie wayne
By the time Batman stormed Two Face's Parisian lair he feared the worst. Dent wasn't exactly known for his serene temper. He could only hope that he wanted to wait to start the show so Bruce Wayne could witness everything right from the start.
So when he came in Batarangs blazing Batman was prepared to find his daughter - he had another daughter! - covered in blood and maybe unconscious. What he wasn't prepared for was the actual sight. There was a gaggle of teens, most of them in colorful outfits. They seemed enraged, so much that the one girl without a mask could barely restrain them from attacking Two Face who was skillfully tied to some pipes. He couldn't move a finger. By the sounds of it, the teens would like to do nothing more than to lynch the rouge.
Your idea sounds interesting and I immediately had this scene in my head 😅
Came up with a Bruce Wayne Bio Dad fic idea.
Bruce does find out even has a daughter until the unthinkable happens. A rouge is targeting Bruce’s ex romances. When they go after Sabine, the plan changes. Marinette comes home to her parents injured on the floor. Their attacker notices Marinette's similarities to Bruce and kidnaps her. When Bruce finds out Sabine is in the hospital, he goes to visit her. In that visit, he finds out about his daughter as Sabine ask him to save their daughter.
I feel like Jazz should have her own Bio-dad Aus Now Bruce is a popular choice for most bio dad AUs, but let's add some variety. Harley Quinn is another popular choice, it kinda fits since they have ties to psychology. But let me give you another choice. Harvey Dent. Let's say Maddie and Harvey met at one of Brucie Wayne's fundraiser events, they hit it off, get a bit tipsy, then boom. Jazz's born. Jazz looks so much like her mum that Maddie doesn't even think that Jazz is not Jack's kid. (She does notice some things about Jazz that she couldn't have gotten from Jack or her, but admitting that would probably ruin her marriage, so she employs blissful ignorance.) Harvey, of course has no idea Jazz exists. Years pass, truths come out (or not), tears are shed, life goes on. Now Jazz is looking at schools, and she finds a good one in Gotham, you know, the home of her bio dad. She decides to reach out to Harvey. So, she talks it over with Jack and Maddie and they agree to let her go. Now you could have Jack and Maddie know that Jazz isn't Jacks kid and approve of her reaching out to Harvey, just them being supportive. Or, you could have them not know anything, and have Jazz do this behind their backs as an attempt to have a semi decent role model in her life. Your choice. But anyway. Here Harvey is, planning something (Next court case or next crime) and then, out of nowhere, a kid shows up on his doorstep saying "Congratulations, it's a girl, where's that child support?" And he's just so confused, like how did she find him (Tucker of course) and where were her parents? Harvey who's very concerned: ehh, you do know I'm a criminal, right? Jazz: My mum and other dad have a portal to hell in the basement, trust me, you're an improvement. Harvey who's even more concerned about this kid: ??????? Or you know, Slade Wilson is also an option.
Time to Go
Marinette had known since she was born that she was the only daughter of Bruce Wayne and Talia Al Ghul. She was also Damian's little sister, by three years.
When the strike on Ra's Al Ghul was taken, Talia quickly hid her away. Marinette knew her family's lives were on the line. She knew Damian would be on the front lines and prayed for his safe return. Although she knew she wasn't her grandfather's favorite, she still mourned his death. Damian seemed to take it especially hard.
Talia had told Marinette and Damian that they would be seperated for the time being. She needed Damian to go with his father to continue his training, while she picked up the pieces of the League.
"What about me, Mother?" Mari questioned.
"You will be on a mission, all of your own." Talia explained, "You're mission is to go undercover. You will act as a daughter of other people. This will keep you safe. Not many know of your existence, but I need to make sure all that wish to harm us, are gone."
"I do not approve of this." Damian snarled.
"I understand." Talia whispered, "I have folders for each of you with detailed instructions. Until you are in your new lodgings, you are not to open them."
Marinette nodded sadly and cried herself to sleep in her big brother's arms. She knew it would be a while before she saw him again. Talia gave them their moment. It hurt her dearly to tear her children apart, but Slade had to pay for his crimes. The League had to be rebuilt and become stronger than ever to give them both their inheritance. With Ra's gone, she would train Marinette to become as deadly as her, when she came of age.
Marinette smiled at the envelope in her hand.
'Another letter from mother. I wonder what my orders are this time.'
Marinette,
The time has come for your father to pick you up. He and Damian will pick you up in three days time. Prepare for his arrival.
Marinette smiled, happily. Lila had been a pain in the ass, as of late. Sabine and Tom took everything her so-called friends said at face value. They would laugh at the implications over dinner. Marinette would tell them all of the lies and how brainless the class truly was. They both knew that if Marinette was really bullying Lila, she could have done far worse. Tom and Sabine had disagreed with Adrien's decleration, but told Mairnette to keep the piece while they reached out to Talia. Only her mother's orders were absolute. If her mother said she could kill her, they wouldn't stand in her way.
"Maman. Papa." Marinette called out.
"So, what did the letter say this time?" Sabine asked.
"Father and Brother will be here in three days time to retrieve me." she answered.
"Well, let's start pulling you out of that horrible school and get ou all packed up." Tom laughed, "I'm sure they will be happy to see you."
'Damian, perhaps. Father; I don't know if he even knows of my existence. Surprise, Father.'
Bruce sighed, "What do you mean you have a sister?"
"It's just as I stated." Damian declared, "Mother has insisted it is safe to retrieve her."
"You've been talking to Talia?" Dick questioned.
"No." the young Wayne heir answered, "She gave us both instructions before we left."
Damian held up the letter.
"There are certain dates for me to open these letters." he explained, "Most of them coincide with our birthdays. Today is Marinette's; she turns fifteen."
"So where is she?" Jason asked.
"Paris, France." Damian stated, "She has been under watchful eyes and was assigned to live as a normal child. No assassin work. Grandfather wasn't too happy that he didn't have two grandsons. Mother taught her self-defense, but she helped out around, mostly as a servant. I was to ignore her if I saw her unless we were alone."
Bruce rubbed his head.
"I have already prepared another room, Sir." Alfred smiled.
"Please, don't let there be two of him." Tim pleaded as Bruce stood up and walked out of the cave to pack.
Marinette handed over her ledger of Lila Rossi to Bruce.
"The school needs to choose their staff more carefully." she spoke, "Tom and Sabine have tried stepping in with the Principal, but I bellieve the Board needs to know what is going on under their noses.
Bruce looked at it and quickly read through it.
"I agree." he snarled, "I'll be taking it with me to the board. I need to legally sign you out of that school, anyways."
Marinette turned to her brother and hugged him.
"I missed you." she whispered.
Damian said nothing, but held her close.
Tom and Sabine stood by as they watch the girl they help raise, reunite with her family. Marinette let go and realized they were holding something.
"We have a copy of all of the recipes we've made over the years." Sabine declared, "Both in the bakery and just for the house."
"Family eyes only." Tom smiled.
"Thank you." Marinette replied, taking it and holding it close to her chest.
"I will make sure it is handed over to our grandfather and he will keep it locked up and safe." Damian declared.
Tom and Sabine smiled.
"I need to take my stuff back to the school." Mari spoke up.
"Go." Damian replied, "Father should return soon. I will tell him where you are and we will meet you there. I will put your belongings in the car so we can leave immediately."
Marinette walked into class and handed her class books over to Ms. Bustier.
"Marinette, why-" Caline began to question.
"I resign as class president." Mari announced.
"What?" Caline whispered in shock.
"Marinette?" Adrien called out, "Are you okay?"
"Is this why you haven't been in school?" Alya asked.
Caline laughed awkwardly, "Marinette, I'm sure-"
"I will be leaving this school, as of today." she announced, leaving the class stunned.
"Oh, Marinette!" Lila called out, standing up, "Did I do something? I only wanted to be friends!"
"Yeah!" shouted Kim, "What the hell?"
"I'll be moving in with my birth father and older brother." Marinette stated, "Mother says it is time for me to go with them."
"Sabine kicked you out?" Adrien questioned, confused.
"Sabine and Tom are my guardians, not my parents." Mari declared, "My birth father listened to me. I have always had a keen eye for detail, as many of you know from asking me to design for them."
"Are you till going on about 'Lila stealing from you'?" Alya asked, "We know it was you who stole!"
Lila paled and sat back down in her seat.
'What?'
Marinette looked at Lila and smiled, "Why do you think Ms. Bustier doesn't want me to stop being class president? It's because I make detailed plans for all the school trips, fundraisers, plan the fire drills, and escape routes. I even know where everything in this school is, including the security cameras. I have kept a record of every lie you said sice you got here, where and when. My father turned the evidence over to the Board of Governers."
Lila's jaw dropped.
"If the cameras aren't working, then they'll just go after that gullible man. Pretty sure embezzlement won't keep him in position." Mari shrugged.
"Huh?" asked Nino.
"How many times do you think the mayor pays him to look the other way when Chloe's being a bitch?" Marinette declared.
"Excuse me!" Chloe shouted.
"Maybe Lila can lend you her hearing aids." Marinette retorted.
"This is why you're a bully." Alix glared at her.
Marinette simply smiled.
Bruce and Damian walked in. Chloe smoothed her clothes and fluffed her hair, quickly. She stood up and smiled.
"I'm-" She spoke.
"Your voice is like nails on a chalk board." Damian commanded, "Be silent."
Chloe closed her mouth and sat down in embarassment, leaving everyone speechless.
Marinette giggled, "You always did know how to make an entrance, Big Brother."
Chloe's jaw dropped.
'She's a Wayne!'
Marinette turned and smiled at Chloe, "Goodbye, Daddy's Little Princess." before turning back to her family, "Father, I am ready to return home."
"Very well." Bruce spoke.
All three of them left the class without another word. There was a lot they had to discuss. As far as Bruce knew, Marinette had no idea about him being Batman and Damian being Robin. She had grown up with some semblance of a normal life and he wanted to keep it that way.
The class looked at the door confused.
"Chloe?" whispered Sabrina.
"Shit!" Chloe screamed, slamming her fists onto the desk.
"Chloe, are you okay?" asked Kim.
"No!" she yelled back, "Do I look okay? So you know-You don't know who they are? Of course you Pea Brains, don't! That was Bruce and Damian Wayne. Which makes.....Baker Girl is one of the richest people in the world."
Lila sat in her seat, enraged.
'What?'
"What?" questioned Alya.
"They have more money than mine and Adrikins' family combined." she scoffed, "Her father could buy Daddy's hotel like it was nothing!"
"But-" whispered Mylene.
"Marinette is a Wayne." Chloe stated, "The Waynes own an international business and have their hands in everything. They are old money. Bruce Wayne practically owns a whole city and just doesn't wanna be mayor."
"What about her brother?" asked Alix.
"He's known for being violent and lashing out. He hates the press." she remarked, "One thing about him on social media and he hunts you down and sues you."
"That's illegal." Alya claimed.
"Sorry. Would you prefer to be thrown in jail or settle for a million dollars to delete what you have?" the heiress questioned, "The Wayne family is known for the high IQ and attention to detail, which means....we're all screwed."
The class learned that everything Marinette had said was true. Lila's lies were all exposed. She was expelled and taken to a juvenile detention center, ontop of being sued by various people. Principal Damocles had been fired, as he had zero authority to expell anyone. Their teacher, Caline Bustier, was fired for not doing her job. She never informed the nurse about Lila's illnesses or disabilities, so there was never any confirmation that any of those were true. She also never sent Lila any homework during her 'travels' and so she was far behind the class in her studies.
Chloe believed she was suffering the most. Adrien was no longer in school with her. The people that let her do what she wanted was removed from the school and she was being forced to sell clothes out of her closet because her mother was upset by how much she 'embarassed them' in front of the Waynes.
'Stupid Marinette! This is all her fault! If she had just acted rich, like me, everything would be the same as it always was.'
The class was in disarray. Not only had Ms. Bustier let Lila slide on so many things, she was behind on their lessons as well. They now had mandatory after school tutoring and study sessions. Adrien Agreste had been pulled out of the class due to his high marks. He was also at the level they all should have been at.
"Dude, how did you pass?" Nino asked, "We all listened to Miss Bustier! You're higher than anyone, including Max!"
"Well, I was homeschooled and Natalie was a tough teacher compared to Miss Bustier. Also, I wanted to be at the same grade level as Chloe. I sorta knew mostly everything, already." Adrien admitted, "I actually could have skipped a few grades if I wanted to."
Nino was surprised, "Would you be willing to tutor us?"
"I wish I could but the board made me take a test and Father demanded I answer every question I knew correctly." Adrien sighed, "I'll be going to high school and if I continue the way I am now, I'm set to graduate in two years."
They realized it would never be the same. Everyone else still had four or five years until they graduated.
Bruce thought that another child would tip the balance of the manor, but he was wrong. It felt like all they had been missing, was her. She adjusted perfectly to the chaos. His sons insisted that Marinette learn self-defense, at the very least. She refused to walk in their footsteps and become Robin or any other sort of vigilante. It hadn't taken long for Marinette to be announced as Bruce Wayne's daughter and Damian's long lost biological sister. Marinette had taken Gotham by storm as Gotham's Angel and was designing under a new alias: Serpentine. She was taking the fashion world by storm.
Everyone loved having Marinette around, but Damian Al-Ghul Wayne knew better. Marinette was as deceiving as their mother. She looked innocent in everything she did, but her mind was a war zone. Their grandfather never appreciated her mind, but he had gotten some of his best stealth mission ideas after talking with her. He could see her slithering into every crack in their new home. She was flexible like Grayson, loved motorcycles like Todd, talked business with Father and Drake. She even won over Alfred, Brown and Cain with her cooking and baking skills.
Damian watched as Marinette smiled at her computer. The look at the screen, the smile; it was his mother's smile. He could see Gabriel stocks were plummeting after their reunion in Paris. Style Queen was barely hovering above water. For Marinette, it was never about becoming Robin. It was about ruling the world and she was going do it through fashion.
Damian would never tell anyone, but he was scared of his little sister and he would take it to his grave. The smile that would lead anyone to death: The Arabian Helen of Troy.
I have ANGST!
And a 2 3 4 5 6 7
Imagine, if you will:
Jack and Maddie Fenton are hot af and are okay with a bit of polyamory. They've shared a few people here and there. (This is why Vlad is obsessed with them. They wouldn't sleep with him because Maddie thought it would be a bad idea.)
Including Bruce Wayne.
A bit after that, Maddie realizes she's pregnant. Obviously, they're smart enough to realize that there's a slight chance the baby might not be Jack's.
So out comes Danny and they do a DNA test.
Jack Fenton, you are NOT the father.
They start trying to get into contact with any of the people who could be Danny's dad to get them to do a test.
Test after test comes back negative.
It's down to the last one. The one that won't return their calls. They've tried everything they can think of, short of going to the press.
They send him one last message.
"You have a son. His name is Danny."
They never receive any response.
IMW Chapter 12
It was unreal. God-like. Terrifying.
The Justice League was close to having a meltdown before Red Robin cut it off by showing another bit of footage. Dated one day after the Stoneheart incident, it was a press conference with Ladybug and Chat Noir as they explained what had happened.
Despite calling each other partners, Ladybug was the clear leader between the two. It was obvious with how she spoke and answered questions, how Chat Noir deferred to her, and how they stood, despite being side by side. Ladybug naturally drew people’s attention to herself as a leader did; exuding quiet confidence and strength.
By the end of the footage, Batman’s mind was whirling with the information he had just learned and all of the implications that it must have had for Paris.
The city had been under the control of a magical terrorist who could turn them into akumas for simply feeling a negative emotion. No matter a person’s age or gender, no matter if they were awake or asleep, they weren’t safe to feel anything.
It was horrifying. Not only for the victim, who didn’t have any control over their actions and had no memory of what they did, but for the people caught up in the attack.
Was Isa ever used like this? No, not the time.
They died, were injured and watched their loved ones be killed, only to come back and repeat the process the next time Hawkmoth made an akuma. They remembered everything and had to live with the aftermath as they tried to not feel anger, sadness, grief or anything they would have felt, for fear they would be turned into an akuma.
It was horrifying. And Nightwing, Red Hood had the same expression as him. Guilt, fear and fury.
Red Robin gave them very little time to process that information, cutting off many conversations amongst themselves as they tried to make sense of it all as he continued and they were forced to focus or get left behind.
The first six months seemed to be filled with Paris falling into its new normal of living with a magical terrorist that preyed off their emotions and getting to know and trust their heroes, but by the time winter became spring, the city had put their full support behind Ladybug and Chat Noir.
Watching the footage and reading the reports on the akuma battles as Red Robin split the screens so he could read off the Timeline page while they matched the akuma on the Akuma and Amok page, Batman became more certain that Ladybug was the leader.
Chat Noir constantly deferred to her during battles and she was the one that always developed the plan, using whatever object her magic gave her to her advantage in some of the most creative and tactically brilliant ways Batman had ever seen.
She also had a greater understanding and grasp on her weapon. Using the abilities of her yoyo to accomplish feats Batman was astonished to see a yoyo perform. She was also the better fighter, despite Chat Noir almost always being the offensive part of their duo.
When Red Robin made it to the seven-month mark, the Timeline marked it as the start of the Era of the Temporary Heroes.
It gave them all pause, and Batman agreed with The Flash as the metahuman hero muttered that calling something the first in situations like this normally wasn’t a good sign.
As they got further, he was proven correct.
Rena Rouge was foxed themed, her magic allowing her to cast illusions and she was the first temporary hero to be introduced. Carapace was only a month after her and was turtle themed, his magic meant he was able to cast an impenetrable shield while Queen Bee followed two weeks after, four weeks before the first Heroes Day.
Queen Bee was a disaster. She deliberately endangered hundreds of lives so she could save them to appear heroic, then revealed her identity for clout. Ladybug was openly livid at her fellow hero, but she paid little notice other than to fawn over her in hero-worship.
The Justice League viewed the clip in disbelief then tried to theorise how the hell Ladybug and Chat Noir could have not known that she had the capacity to do something like that. But, when Superman asked Red Robin if Queen Bee’s identity was known to the public, the younger hero said yes.
Queen Bee only fought in four battles, one of them being the Scarlet Swarm akuma battle on the first Heroes Day.
The footage from that battle had left the entire Justice League in stunned horrified silence. The casualties reached close to a million and destruction was city wide with the battle ending three hours later as Hawkmoth fled with the help of a previous unknown ally called Mayura.
Viperion was brought in less than a month after the Heroes Day Scarlet Swarm. The snake themed hero had the most interesting and dangerous magic Batman had seen of the Temps so far; being able to reset time back to a specific place was not something to take lightly.
King Monkey and Pegasus followed in quick succession and were monkey and horse themed respectively. The former could summon an object that affected the functioning of another’s powers while the latter could create portals to anywhere.
The last temporary hero was Ryuko, a dragon themed superheroine that could become one of three elements; water, wind or lightning and she appeared four months after Heroes Day.
Like Ladybug and Chat Noir, the temporary heroes all had enhanced physical abilities and senses but were lower in the hierarchy, deferring to Chat Noir when Ladybug wasn’t there.
Hawkmoth did the same as Mayura and her magic became a prominent feature in his attacks, creating sentimonsters to help his akumas.
He hated magic.
Ladybug or as she now went by as Lady Miracle continued to train.
It was astounding how much respect the people had for her.
The Ladyblog was all the evidence the Timeline gave despite the vague accusation, and it was all the Justice League needed to prove that fact. The last thing that happened between the press conference and the attack on the First Wave was the increase in the support behind the ship “Ladynoir” as the cat themed hero stepped up his flirting and became more vocal in his declarations of love, especially in front of people and cameras.
Each time he did so, Ladybug turned him down, telling him that she was a professional and did not date colleagues or she cut him off as he told reporters that they were dating and set the record straight.
Batman wished people in the Justice League, himself and his clan included, followed that same principal. The way Chat Noir’s flirting was put in the Timeline had alarm bells ringing in Batman’s head, especially since it was accompanied by percentages of how it had increased. While it could be a closely followed love story between two heroes for someone to see how it progressed, the tone suggested otherwise.
When Shadow Moth did attack, the battle was marked on the Timeline. Ladybug was impaled and pinned to the ground and Chat Noir was nowhere on scene.
The made it's way towards the hero when Ladybug kicked it square in the face and sent it flying back.
And Batman would be lying if he said he wasn't impressed and a little scared.
imagine tim is bruce’s bio kid, and is immediately given to bruce when he is born, but bruce already has an eight year old (dick) and a four year old (jason) at home.
just imagine how the boys would act at a baby brother omg
Jason: B? When is Timmy gonna be old enough to play with me?
Bruce who is currently holding a two week old Tim in his arms: Not for a while, Jaylad. Why don’t you go play with Dick?
Jason: No. Dickie isn’t fun, and I want to be a good older brother and play with Timmy.
Bruce: Jay, you’re already a good older brother, but you have to wait until Tim grows up a little more until you can play with him, okay?
Jason: Hmpf, fine. But can I hold him, pretty please??
Bruce: Sighs, fine, but you have to be gentle. I’ll teach you how to hold him properly, okay?
————
Dick pointing to a two month old Tim in a baby bouncer: B! Why does all Timmy do is stare at me? He’s not acknowledging all my cool big brotherness!
Bruce: Sighs, he’s a baby, Dick, that’s what he does at this age, but don’t worry, he’ll be more expressive in a couple of months.
Dick: A couple of months?! But that’s soooo long! I want him to start laughing and stop crying, it’s not fun when he cries.
Bruce: You’re going to have to be patient, chum. But I’m sure when Tim grows up, he’s going to appreciate you and Jay being awesome big brothers.
Dick, smiling: Thanks Bruce! When Timmy grows up, imma teach him all my gymnastics moves AND all my Robin tricks!
Bruce: Dick no-
Dick: Dick yes!
Dick, excitedly showing his newest little sister Marinette the Batcave: This is the Batcave! Overe there is the Batcomputer and here we sharpen our Batarangs. On this side are the Batbikes and if you follow this path you'll find the Batplane. And right here is the Batmobile! Isn't it amazing? We should totally take you on a joy ride with it, don't you agree? What do you say?
Marinette, slowly taking it all in: I feel like you were going for a theme with this ... Let me guess? Moody broody late-pubescent goth?
Alfred: Very well said, Miss Marinette.
Jason, peering at a stricken-looking Bruce: Well, I guess trying to show off how cool you are to your new daughter might not go as planned. Any contingencies, old man?
Tim: Going off of experience, it's having a moody brooding session in the dark cave. You know, like a late-pubescent goth.
Bruce, murmuring: I didn't even name most of these things, why am I getting attacked?
