A warning about AI crap

@giannaaziz1998blog this user browses through art-related hashtags and steals your work, AI-fies it and posts with the same hashtags as in your original post. It could be a bot, it's getting hard to tell at this point. For example, that thing saw my post, stole my very old non-glazed sketch, slapped AI on it and posted with exactly the same hashtags, even though some of them aren't related to it. Also restricted replies, of course, and blocked me. Please, block and report them, I'm not the only artist who was "blessed" with this abomination.

P.S. - glaze your art if you can, people. That's the only way to protect your art at the moment.

The amount of "Hyper-Realistic" Commissions popping up in the FFXIV community that are v clearly AI paintovers is actually awful rn. Seeing a lot of it in rando discord servers and stuff. Research your commissoners before getting art done. Don't pay for AI. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - Don't trust sketch processes that look too similar to the final product/look traced over. -Demand to see many WIPs that show the process between rendering, not just flat colors then sudden renders. -Be wary of varying style changes & ability between sketch and final product.

see the messed up face, weird outline around everything, messed up flashlight and hands, three stripes on his shirt, and the fact that everything doesnt seem to fit as a theme at all? also the bandaids are messed up. the flashlight has straps for some reason. the tile in the background doesn't have a pattern. it's just muddled. stuff like this makes it easy to pick out ai art if you ever arent sure. anyway, ai art die forever 🖕

So this is not a fanfic, and I'm terribly sorry, I'm working on them. But I'm actually posting this to inform you all to be on the lookout for "AI art" accounts.

They usually start with "evil" (ex. @evil-witch-jenna, @evil-christmas, @evil-cox and more.) and they make some.. weird posts.

Especially evil-cox, I do not recommend looking at that account at all if you are not comfortable with images of breasts or sexualization of actresses. Or just any account for that matter.

What's the issue with them?

The issue is that they are spam posting AI generated images onto Tumblr under the tag "art" or "artists on Tumblr" when it's not art. It's a picture that AI generated for them from a prompt and.. creepy images at that.

Why do I have such an issue with it personally?

Well, for starters, it's just creepy and unsettling. But it's also been drowning out actual art on my feed and that makes me so sad. Also the fact that they keep posting these weird sexualized pictures of actresses is concerning, especially because in some pictures they take on a more child-like body.

Why should you beware of them?

Because ai "art" is wrong and giving them likes and reblogs encourages them. Just block them and call it a day, and I'm sure there's more accounts than I mentioned. I know some amazing artists who pour their time and effort into each drawing they make, and it's just insulting to see the tag made for their lovely work and many others being swamped with something that took maybe 5 seconds max.

Well, what if you're the owners of those accounts and you see this?

Stop posting. I will literally beg you to stop posting and delete your accounts. I do not condone bullying or pressuring someone off the internet but you have been told multiple times that it is creepy and you keep posting creepier and creepier things and act like a child when confronted anyway. Stop and go outside or learn how to draw and put some actual effort into artwork rather than posting creepy images of actresses with their breasts hanging out and a snake wrapped around them or an actress who is in a sexual pose with the body of a little girl. Stop it.

It seems that the setting is not available on all phones yet, so I'd suggest changing it from your desktop.

I honestly thing that all websites should automatically be opted out from AI training tools, but we have been demonstrated over an over that the userbase doesn't mean a thing for the companies who manage these sites.

Asked this once before but cannot remember for the life of me, I know you’ve said you use Pinterest but is there any key words or searches you use to help find a wider variety of pose references? Nothing particular in mind just trying to find more, intimate(?), poses that aren’t so stiff. Not sexual just don’t know the word.

hmm... i suppose adding things like 'aesthetic' to regular search terms tends to help to get more moody images & i like looking for 'vintage' references as well bc they tend to be more intentionally posed - at this point my pinterest is so well-trained that i get a lot of suitable images automatically in the homepage bit haha

movie or stage kisses/embraces are a good bet too, since the actors will be Doing Intimacy To Be Appealing To The Viewer - add a bunch of these to a board and the suggestions will help you along after that

Big watermarks help, and a Machine learning Engineer commented that watermarks with low opacity and blurred edges make it harder for AI to remove them!

PSA: INPRNT IS FAILING TO PAY ARTISTS

...and they are apparently not doing much to fix it. this has been going on since at least May. inprnt has been telling individual artists who go to them for help that there is a known problem with payouts that needs to be fixed manually. they have not publicly acknowledged it or notified their userbase. some people seem to get a fix from support pretty quickly, others are just ignored or left to languish. so the result here is: a lot of artists are not getting paid and think they are alone in this.

here is a thread of receipts(tm) going around today, which are unfortunately also on the Bad Bird Website. lots of quote tweets and replies telling the same story, and if you search around, there's been a growing number of complaints over the last few months.

so, if you have prints on there, it's probably time to start asking some pointed questions and making some serious demands. they've been letting this fester for months and they clearly need a push. if you're thinking of joining... maybe look at other options or wait and see how this plays out.

(disclaimer: i am not on inprnt so this does not personally affect me; i'm just pissed off on behalf of my peers and i think artists and customers should know this is going on)
