Happy BFSN Sunflowerkru!

I actually have something to post, and there's a really good reason why. Last week Friday, my friend and I went to a Cigarettes After Sex concert. I was the one who wanted to go ~ my friend is just happy to try new things (isn't it great to have people like that in your life?).

Aside from how incredible the band was, how I learnt about them is straight out of tumblr. I became obsessed with a particular fanfic, and attached to this fic was an entire Spotify playlist. This playlist opened my mind to incredible new music, and this band was one of the many I discovered as a result.

Thank you @carrieeve, @togetherkru and @travllingbunny for the tags this week. So scary about the health issue with Spock! Not being able to relieve himself, that must be so painful. I'm glad he's all better now <3 And yay for spring coming back to us! It's quite shocking how warm it is outside here today as well!

I'm so late this week, as there has been so much to complete in school that I haven't had much time for other things but finally I'm past the finish line. Two assignments have been turned it, one class is over and now I get to just relax this weekend. What a bliss!

The Evermore Grimoire: Slayers

Buffy Summers was called to be the Slayer in 1996 at fifteen years old. She was originally living in Los Angeles, but, due to an incident involving a gang of vampires at Hemery High School, she was expelled and moved to Sunnydale with her mother, Joyce Summers where she acted as guardian of the Hellmouth for seven years before the town's destruction. Initially a reluctant hero who constantly wished for nothing more than a normal life, Buffy eventually grew to embrace her destiny. She was unique as a Slayer in many ways; she refused to sacrifice her ordinary life for her supernatural destiny, often operated as part of a team with her friends the Scooby Gang, and had romantic relationships with two notorious vampires called Angel and Spike. Buffy was also one of the longest-living of all the Slayers, having died twice which in turn disrupted the Slayer line by causing two Slayers to exist at the same time. The first being Kendra Young who then died at the hands of Drusilla which in turn activated Faith Lehane. However it was her second death that changed the course of the Slayer line for good. After Willow Rosenberg resurrected Buffy with dark magic, she unknowingly reactivated Buffy's place within the Slayer line causing it to split in two and run through both Buffy and Faith. This angered The First who believed the balance between good and evil had tipped too far and enacted a war against the Slayer line by attempting to kill all the Potential Slayers. During the war, Buffy came across the Scythe, an ancient weapon specifically designed for the Slayer to wield that had been hidden from the world. It was this weapon that gave Buffy the idea to activate the remaining Potential Slayers, abolishing the traditional line of the Chosen One and creating an army of Slayers as well closing the Hellmouth for good.

I haven't got much to report today, which I consider to be a little blessing because I've had a stressful couple of weeks recently, so to have a breather is very welcomed.

Escapism is the way to deal with this chaotic world, so today I let myself loose at the annual book sale at my favourite bookshop. I did not find as much as I had expected (which was a blessing for my wallet), but i did bring these books home with me...

I love discovering books based on/inspired by Korean mythology, so I look forward to checking out the book at the top of the pile. And the one at the bottom is by an author I've discovered this past year and whose writing I've fallen in love with...

I hope the rest of you have your own ways of taking a breather from the realities of the world when they become too much. Take care of yourselves and do things you love 💕
