Midwest Museum has been on my mind especially after watching friends w my mom and talking about how unfunny that show was. it rolls around in my head because i really like the concept of a story where someone lives somewhat like shit but this is a life they enjoy and want and like

to any teenagers or young adults out there who still live with their parents and are being put through hell every single day i wanna tell you it gets so much better the second you move out.

i thought i was going to be miserable forever because of what my parents did to me. i thought even when i eventually left i would never be happy. but i was SO SO wrong. i moved out april 1st this year and ive never ever been this happy my entire fucking life.

it sucks a lot too, im not gonna lie. moving out in 2023 is nearly fucking impossible, without even mentioning roommate shit, bills, car stuff if you have one, living paycheck to paycheck because minimum wage is not fucking enough.

but even with all that my quality of life has increased so much it makes me emotional to think about. for the first time ever i'm able to dress the way i want, do whatever i like with my hair, get the piercings i've always dreamed of, be in complete control of what i eat. i can go out whenever i want and come how whenever i want, i can choose who to spend my time with and i don't get shit for any of it.

and ive heard older people giving life advice say to stay with your parents as long as possible, to save money, but those people never experienced what we did.

if you have a good or at least neutral relationship with your parents, you should definitely take advantage of that and use this opportunity to set yourself up for success when you are ready. but if they are awful to you, or they WERE and you can't find it in you to forgive them (now or ever) get the hell out of there. you'll be so much happier.

so my university has catering tables set up for students sometimes and usually no one cares who goes in for a snack. yesterday i tried to steal a portugese egg tart but some staff lady yelled HEY! and i backed off and started solving some banking problem i had on my phone. according to my best friend and her boyfriend two guys saw what happened to me laughed but proceeded to do the same thing and also get yelled at. then they got into the lift with us and said 'man i love a girl who likes a challenge' -> they were talking about me apparently. my best friend and her boyfriend heard this and he asked her. do you think she heard them? and she said no. look at her right now -> i was trying to do some face id bullshit. does she LOOK like she hears them? she can't hear anything right now. you could call her a bitch and she wouldn't know. so her boyfriend looks around, goes 'bitch' and i am still struggling with my phone and i didnt process a thing. he says holy shit. she really can't hear me. anyway this is how i prove each and every day that i really do have adhd

so Emperor Gaius Caligula and his Hellenistic Aspirations is actually one that I bought years ago and while I do have it as a pdf, it's password locked and I haven't gotten around to getting rid of that bc I currently Do Not Having A Laptop That Can Run Programs For Very Long. Alas!

the second one is a text that can be found in Suetonius the Biographer: Studies in Roman Lives, Tristan Power (ed.), Roy K Gibson (ed.). Normally I'd say message me off anon and I'll email it over, but. the aforementioned laptop issue. it makes this impossible for me right now. however, there are alternative methods for getting a hold of that one.
