I don't know if you take any gif requests or not but here I am with some requests. It's not necessary for you to fulfill though.
The requests are if arshi and asya parallel scenes (as well as Asad and Arnav) I feel Zoya and Khushi would've been bestest friends if they ever had met.
• Zoya and Khushi love for food (pizza and jalebi) - fun fact both Surbhi and Sanaya hated pizza and jalebi in real life
• Asad and Arnav both share similar trauma caused by their father. to Arnav, his mother unalived herself due to his father while Asad's father practically left his mother to start a new life with some other woman
• Asad and Arnav making pizza and jalebi respectively
• Khushi and Zoya being biggest Salman Khan fan (Khushi's was shown while Zoya's fangirling wasn't) - but we have Arnav and Asad dancing on Salman Khan songs to make their women happy
• rain breakdown scene of both Asad and Arnav
And a lot more. I honestly live for any ipkknd and qubool hai 1 crossover. If you are willing to make gifs then I can provide you with qh episode numbers.
Hey, thank you for liking my gifs <3
However, I don't really like QH nor did I ever watch it so I won't be able to make these parallels :) However, I do know a lot of people who watched IPK and loved QH too - here is a link of a parallel gifset.
Best,
Jalebi

★ Sukhbir reveals how he, Salman Khan came up with 'Billi Billi Akh'!
Mar 2, 2023
Punjabi singer Sukhbir, who is known as the Prince of Bhangra and boast of chartbusters like 'Ishq Tera Tadpave', 'Balle Balle', is back with another track 'Billi Billi Akh' and this time, it's for a Salman Khan film - 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan'. The song, video of which is set to release on Thursday, has an interesting story. The singer revealed that Salman came up with the idea for a wedding song and shared the same with him while the two were in Abu Dhabi.
'Billi Billi Akh' is an upbeat, peppy song, composed by Vicky Sandhu who's also written Punjabi lyrics, with the perfect blend of modern flair and Punjabi beats, features Sukhbir himself along with the entire cast of the movie, Salman Khan, Pooja Hegde, Shehnaaz Gill and Palak Tiwari. Talking about how the song came into being, Sukhbir said, "I met Salman Khan in Abu Dhabi where he had requested a wedding/celebration song for his upcoming movie and that's when I sent him a couple of options. He loved all of them but especially fell in love with 'Billi Billi Akh' which was a Punjabi song and lyrics and that's how we started working on this Hindi version which was written by lyricist Kumaar and the music has been produced by DJ Dips and Supernova."
Sukhbir has been in the industry for over two decades now and commands a colossal fan following, his 'Ishq Tera Tadpave' song still rules the dance floors during wedding celebrations. Talking about his experience during the shoot with Salman Khan, the singer added, "My experience has been nothing short of simply amazing. I did not expect Salman Khan to be so hands-on when it came to every detail, he would call me to discuss lyrics and the musical bits, ask me to edit certain parts so that they make sense to the visuals of the song, and the best part was shooting of the video which was done in Mumbai". "He made sure everyone was looked after and I particularly enjoyed meal times with him as it gave us an opportunity to have one on one sessions to discuss the movie amidst many jokes", he added

top 5 kareena kapoor movies!
I love this question! 💕
Asoka (2001) - The fact that this film released the same year as K3G with Kareena playing drastically different characters blows my mind. The girl can act. She was amazing as Kaurwaki and I loved the minimal makeup look (I would always do my eyeliner like hers lol). I think Kareena held her own against SRK and their chemistry was on fire. Plus she looked amazing in the songs. Her introduction scene? Iconic. One thing I really love about Kareena is how well she can emote with just her eyes, especially in the Raat Ka Nasha song. Like, I could literally feel her longing. Also the scene where Asoka was teaching her how to use a sword rewired my brain. The sexual tension 🫠
Jab We Met (2007) - In my opinion, this film is the closest you can get to perfection. It still feels fresh even after all these years and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get into Bollywood. Kareena truly shined as Geet and I loved her character development throughout the film. And who can forget her iconic "I'm my favorite" dialogue? I need her confidence. She had wonderful chemistry with Shahid and I love how their relationship blossomed organically without his character expecting anything in return. I can never get tired of watching this film. The songs, outfits, cinematography, even the side characters – everything was on point!
Talaash (2012) - I love this film so much. It's dark & gritty but also very heartbreaking with an eerie vibe. Kareena looked beautiful (her outfits were sooo cute) and I think this was her best performance – very mature and restrained. Aamir & Rani were amazing but Kareena's character left me haunted. There was a gentle softness about her, but you could feel her lingering sadness whenever she appeared onscreen. I also appreciated the (non-romantic) pairing with Aamir and how he brought closure to her character.
Fida (2004) - Kareena was really good in this. I think it was the first time she played a negative role, but she looked so good while being bad. She also had the cutest shoulder length hairstyle which I loved so much, I had to copy it. Kareena & Fardeen were super hot together and I loved their chemistry. I was rooting for Fardeen to kick Shahid's ass. Those two characters (in my opinion) showed us the difference between a man vs a boy. Despite being flawed and a bit cheesy, Fida is still an enjoyable thriller with good songs and tons of drama. Also the shower scene still shocks me to this day because it was just that unexpected.
Bodyguard (2011) - Yes, I know this is technically a Salman Khan film but I watched it in theaters only for Kareena. She looked absolutely gorgeous. I loved her styling and wardrobe so much. Her intro scene was amazinggg. I also liked that they used Karisma's voice whenever Kareena's character was pretending to be the secret admirer – it was such a cute little detail. Kareena looked especially stunning in Teri Meri, though I wish they used a different male singer (no offense). I love fun masala films so much and this one is definitely up there!
put “top 5” anything in my ask and i will answer ok go

Icy cold take here (actually I dunno) but a lot of Indian movies are q bad cause they are either “oo look at this couple and how they fall in love” or “oo look at MC, isn’t he the coolest?” And honestly I like movies that aren’t necessarily focused on the romance at all, but aren’t just “the trials and tribulations of this one guy”
call me picky but IDK
~ chalky the chalk anon
chalk anon, CHALK ANON *SHAKES YOU* i wrote an entire essay about this because I was so frustrated about bollywood movies LMAO but yes i didn't mean for it to get this long 💔 more utc 😔💔💔
no because you're so right 😔💔 i get that too! i wish there were more movies about female characters that weren't ott-exclusive/direct to streaming services yk? and even the mainstream female-oriented movies that we already have are marketed as such (which causes the general public to lose interest in it because "it's about women and feminism is cancer *goes to the movies to watch the most generic action-thriller starring salman khan and an actress 20 years his junior for the third time this week*)
but that isn't even my only grudge actually?? bollywood movies are primarily romance movies but even then— EVEN THEN!! i don't think I can name a single movie that made me swoon or made me feel giggly and happy on the inside 💔 i have never "shipped" an on-screen couple in a bollywood movie etc. because the movies just?? aren't good. i don't like the way it portrays romance as physical attraction (especially on the male characters part) and shows him needlessly objectifying women. it's sad, it's tired, it's exploitative, it's male-gazey, it's everything that is wrong with this world 💞 /gen now i'm not gonna sit here and tell you what a good romance movie makes (because I... Have never made one lmao) but on behalf of the girls and the gays, i would like to outline some obvious pet peeves that i have from MOST movies (I swear you'll find these tropes in like every movie you don't even have to try) let's go.
item numbers. we don't need them. take them out. please 💞
actors not knowing how to act??? i think this is just an industry problem tbh
not knowing how to write women
not knowing how to choreograph good fight sequences
filler songs for radio promotion
ARIJIT SINGH IS EVERYWHERE???
not knowing how to write romance
thinking every movie NEEDS romance in the first place
and that last point is so important to me btw. i just wish we had more movies trying to tell STORIES rather than LOVE stories, like yeah an occasional rom-com is fun and i'm not saying we should give it up completely but it gets tiring when literally every movie is a rom-com. action-rom-com? drama-rom-com????? yes we've got it 😔💔 it's v funny becajse most of my (and most people ik!!!!) favorite movies weren't romance at all 😧 spirited away is the best movie ever made (#hakukisser4lyf) because it had a compelling story set in a beautiful world with fun characters.
it's honestly just pretty clear to me atp is that bollywood just doesn't care about giving us good stories. your best bet is south indian movies and indie stuff.
so yeah anyways i don't watch Bollywood anymore.

A guilty pleasure of sorts (I mean, lets be honest - many people would argue that any Uday Chopra movie that you don't outright hate - aside from maybe Dhoom - is nothing more than a guilty pleasure). I've enjoyed this movie since the first time I saw it - the reuniting of the Mohabbatein duo (Jimmy Sheirgill/Uday Chopra) plus the guest appearance of another Mohabbatein 'star' (Shamita Shetty), alongside Sanjana (aka Tulip Joshi) and Bipasha Basu ... what a random starcast, looking back at it now.
But, at the time, it resulted in a lot of fun, some entertaining songs, the typical rom/com romantic drama story of man in love with girl who is due to marry someone else - but in this case, both of our mains are complete oafs and don't realize the feelings they have for each other. Or, as we find out later, they maybe have realized - they're just too dense to tell the other person (or anyone else, even - aside from him telling his roommate, who literally hauls her ass over to help him out, only for him to back out of his plan because someone cries) and would therefore rather ruin (okay, maybe not that - Jimmy's character didn't seem like he was a bad person, but he was so awfully close to becoming Love Aaj Kal's - the first one, that is - Rahul Khanna; instead he lucks out and just ends up becoming KKHH's Salman Khan) their lives.
This possibly may have been the start of "Jimmy doesn't get the girl," an overarching theme of many of Jimmy's many movies that seemed to reach it's peak in the Tanu Weds Manu series - where he not only initially gets left behind by Kangna, but then later finds himself again left behind by not only Kangna, but also Kangna's lookalike Kangna.
But yeah, it starts here when he gets engaged to a girl who loves, but ignores said love, her best friend. That's just a recipe for disaster, and as worst case plays out for him, you just wonder if maybe something will work out with him and Sanju's friend/roommate (likely no longer a roommate). Because he's nice enough to deserve something good.
Of course, life doesn't give a shit about that - if anything, it probably means he's just destined to a lifetime of sadness. But that's a story for another never.
I really like this movie, even after repeated rewatches.

Kumar Sanu: The Voice Behind Bollywood's Iconic Love Songs
Introduction to Kumar Sanu’s Career
Kumar Sanu, born Kedarnath Bhattacharya on October 20, 1957, in Kolkata, is celebrated as a playback singing icon in Bollywood. Known for his soulful and emotive voice, he rose to fame in the 1990s, capturing hearts with his timeless melodies, particularly love songs. His work with legendary music directors like Nadeem-Shravan, Jatin-Lalit, and Anu Malik helped establish the romantic sound of Bollywood's golden era.
The Songs That Made Kumar Sanu a Legend
Aashiqui (1990) – “Nazar Ke Samne,” “Bas Ek Sanam Chahiye,” “Jaane Jigar Jaaneman”
Aashiqui was a monumental success and the soundtrack cemented Kumar Sanu's place in Bollywood. Known as the ultimate 90s romance album, its songs are often credited with redefining Bollywood's love songs. Tracks like “Nazar Ke Samne” became instant classics and helped Sanu win his first Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer.
Saajan (1991) – “Mera Dil Bhi Kitna Pagal Hai” and “Dekha Hai Pehli Baar”
Collaborating with Nadeem-Shravan again, Kumar Sanu’s songs in Saajan made waves with their emotional depth and romance. “Mera Dil Bhi Kitna Pagal Hai” and “Dekha Hai Pehli Baar” brought tenderness to the on-screen chemistry between Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, and Sanjay Dutt.
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) – “Tujhe Dekha To Yeh Jana Sanam”
Possibly one of Bollywood's most celebrated songs, “Tujhe Dekha To Yeh Jana Sanam” from DDLJ symbolized romance for an entire generation. Kumar Sanu’s voice brought warmth and a sense of longing to the song, making it an enduring favorite.
1942: A Love Story (1994) – “Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga”
Sung with unparalleled emotion, “Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga” became a signature song in Sanu’s career. With its poetic lyrics and serene melody, the song remains one of Bollywood’s most cherished romantic tracks.
Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1992) – “Pehla Nasha”
While a duet with Sadhana Sargam, Sanu’s vocals in “Pehla Nasha” capture the excitement of first love beautifully. It’s a unique song in his discography, showing his versatility and ability to capture varied emotions.
Baazigar (1993) – “Baazigar O Baazigar” and “Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhen”
His work in Baazigar added to the thrill of this suspenseful romance, especially with “Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhen,” an upbeat and energetic number that remains popular today.
Awards and Recognition
Kumar Sanu’s contribution to Bollywood has been recognized with numerous awards, including five consecutive Filmfare Awards from 1990 to 1994, an unmatched achievement. In 2009, he received the prestigious Padma Shri for his contributions to Indian music. His unique ability to adapt to various genres of Bollywood music, while consistently delivering hits, solidified his place as a legend.

★ Tiger 3: Vaibhavi Merchant decodes why Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif’s song Leke Prabhu Ka Naam is an instant hit!
Oct 25, 2023
Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Emraan Hashmi are currently awaiting the release of their upcoming venture Tiger 3, which is a sequel to Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai. Recently, the film’s first track Leke Prabhu Ka Naam was released and it did not take much time for the groovy track to become a fan-favorite. Recently, the song’s choreography director Vaibhavi Merchant opened up on how the song has been garnering fans attention lately owing to the flaring chemistry of Katrina and Salman Khan and also opened up on her shooting experience with the two superstars.
Leke Prabhu Ka Naam choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant opens up on song receiving adulation due to Salman-Katrina's chemistry
The choreographer recently highlighted how the two actors’ gripping chemistry in the song led to it being showered with adulation and how fans got ecstatic on seeing the duo shake a leg together.
Discussing the same at length, Vaibhavi said, “I think their chemistry, camaraderie, and the ease with which they hold the frame. With Salman, you are already on the upswing because the moment you bring him in front of the camera, half the battle is won because he is so good looking. He is such a handsome man and you can shoot him from whichever angle, and he is going to look the best.”
The choreographer further opened up on how fans love watching the two actors ignite chemistry on the big screen and mentioned how she feels that when there are two very good-looking people together, “half the battle is won”.
Merchant also dug into her experience of shooting the song with Katrina Kaif and noted that she comes alive as soon as she comes in front of the camera and also called her a “simple” girl who would wear comfortable home clothes but at the same time, the actress is very particular about what she is putting out there from her accessories and shoes. “So when she comes on screen, she is then Katrina Kaif!” noted Merchant.
More about Leke Prabhu Ka Naam
The vibrant party track observes Katrina and Salman Khan flaunting their dance moves in it. Notably, singer Arijit Singh has lent his voice to this peppy number and it also marks the first collaboration between Khan and Arijit.

Ved- Riteish Deshmukh's Directorial Debut
The 2022 Indian Marathi-language romantic drama film Ved, which translates to "Madness," was directed by Riteish Deshmukh on his feature film debut and produced by his wife Genelia D'Souza. Majili, a 2019 Telugu-language movie written and directed by Shiva Nirvana, is remade in Ved. The movie premiered in theatres on December 30, 2022.
Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu played one of the most adored real-life ex-couples from South in the lead part of Ved, the Marathi version of the 2019 Telugu sports film Majili. Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza, another adored real-life actor pair, will play the key characters in this sports romance, reenacting the charm that Majili cast on the audience in Marathi. Riteish Deshmukh, who makes his directorial debut with this movie, and Genelia D'Souza, who produces it, are both involved in the filming process in addition to acting as the protagonist.
The film's plot centres on Satya and Shravani, who have known each other since they were young students. While Satya is in love with another girl, who dumps him, and Shravani is in love with him, he marries Shravani. The former cricketer lives on his officer wife's income and smokes and drinks because he can't get over his breakup and misses his ex-girlfriend. Everyone around him calls him cursed, but Sharavani always stands up for him and encourages him despite the fact that she is aware he will never love her in return.
She appears to be broken by Satya's negligence and their one-sided love, though. The film explores if the two can reconcile or whether they ultimately part ways. Numerous reconstructed Majili scenes are shown in the trailer.
Jiya Shankar, best known for her performance in Meri Haanikaral Biwi, will play Satya's ex-girlfriend in the film, which also stars Ashok Saraf, Raviraj Kande, Rahul Dev, Shubhankar Tawde, Pooja Suresh, and Kunal Pawar. Salman Khan also makes a cameo appearance in the film. Award-winning combo Ajay-Atul, who had previously written hit songs for Dhadak and Agneepath, wrote the soundtrack for the movie.

★ Amaal Mallik says he is 'indebted' to Salman Khan, talks about their Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan song!
February 24, 2023
Amaal Mallik made his debut as a music composer in Bollywood with Jai Ho. The year was 2014, when he entered the world of showbiz with the Salman Khan film. Recalling his first Hindi film as a music composer, Amaal feels he didn't deliver well. However, he learnt a lesson, went through another year of hard work and delivered chartbuster songs.
After collaborating with Salman on Jai Ho, Amaal reunited with the superstar for his upcoming film, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. In an exclusive chat with IndiaToday.in, Mallik spoke about his upcoming track with Khan.
AMAAL MALLIK ON SALMAN'S KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN SONG
Speaking exclusively with IndiaToday.in, Amaal Mallik opened up about his reunion with Salman for Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. He also revealed an unknown fact about his track with the superstar.
"Now, eight years later, we are doing a heartfelt song together. Last we collaborated on Main Hoon Hero Tera and now we are coming together and I hope people love it. I can only say that it is a track about romance and love. It is something I made as a composition in 2012 and he remembered that tune as he had it in his recording. He remembers songs and has them on his phone. He said, 'I am doing this song and you have to start working on it.' That's what we are doing right now," said Amaal.
He added, "As we speak, tomorrow, we have recordings for it. The melody is something that I made in 2012 and the whole arrangement, production and beats I am doing now. So my 2023 ka mind is going to work on 2012 ka brain. It is a nostalgic feeling. He had like 4 to 5 songs, out of which Hero was released. He also liked this song. Today, I am doing it for his film. I hope all listeners, Amaalians and Salman Khan fans are ready for a song that is about falling in love and being in love. It is another love song by me, but this time it is with Salman Khan."
'I OWE MY BEGINNING TO MR SALMAN KHAN'
Going down memory lane, Amaal recalled how he got his big break in Bollywood with Jai Ho. He expressed gratitude to Salman and said, "I owe my beginnings to Mr Salman Khan and sir is someone who believed in me that I could be a composer at 23. And I remember, during Jai Ho, I was asked what credit would go. So I said you can give the credit as music produced or beats by Amaal Mallik. He looked at me and said, what kind of credit is that? Music composer banna hain ya nahi banna hai? He was like, otherwise, don't give me the song. I was thrown into this industry like that. Of course, struggles are there. It was not easy to reach him. That is another chapter of life. But once he liked it, he gave me such a big platform to debut on. He took Armaan (Malik) as a vocalist and Salman Khan's voice was Armaan's voice when he was 19. He took a big risk for both of us. And I personally felt I didn't understand much about what to do. I was young and didn't deliver well in Jai Ho. Later, when I did a song with him, Main Hoon Hero Tera, which created history, by then I understood what his fans also like about him and what kind of music they like. In the first film, you don't know, whatever you have been guided about - you try your best."
Before signing off, the music composer stated, "He loved EDM music. That's why we did songs likeTumko Toh Aana Hi Tha, Love You Till The End and the Jai Ho title track in the film. There were EDM-driven club anthem kind-of productions. But his audience is very massy and commercial. They love to see him in either beautiful songs like Teri Meri Prem Kahani (from Bodyguard) or Character Dheela and Dhinka Chika. So, these two spaces are something fans love about him. Even though Salman sir listens to different kinds of music, he is aware and he knows what works for him, but he also knows what works for his fans and they will love it. That surety which he has helps a music composer know what to do. By then I understood where I went wrong with Jai Ho. I am glad that my first film, in spite of it being the biggest launch, I didn't deliver well on music. It taught me a lesson and made me go through another year of hard work so that I could do something like Main Hoon Hero Tera and Sooraj Dooba to take my career forward. I am indebted to him for believing in 23-year-old Amaal Malik, who thought he would debut as a composer at 32 or 33. It was his belief that I became this."

There’s More To Her #8
Previous Chapter
All Chapters
A Touch of Fantasy
AR boasted one of the largest and most prestigious photo studios in India. From supermodels to millionaires - they had all been dressed and photographed here. The likes of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar often graced their covers on shoots held in this space. So nothing should have fazed Arnav Singh Raizada about the beauty and potential of the studio he owned.
Except this was the second time his heart skipped a beat. The first time, it had nothing to do with the studio - it was all about a woman dressed in a gossamer, scarlet red saree.
The lights were dimmed to mimic moonlight. Tall trees, with fairy lights for leaves, twinkled in the darkness. Translucent, stone studded drapes hung, filtering and reflecting the lights on their crystals. At the center was a white table, with matching chairs. There was a small candle, silver cutlery on the table and a few white roses scattered around the studio.
An artificial pond was constructed on both sides of the seating, with hundred floating candles, bathing the entire room in a soft, warm glow. Akash didn’t realise when Payal held his hand. They walked into the studio, in a trance, half in love with the beauty of everything and with each other.
The blue light, golden candles, transparent crystal studded drapes, Payal’s purple salwar and Akash’s white suit was aesthetically… perfect.
Khushi thought of all of this? Arnav turned to her, but was rendered speechless by her soft smile.
“Thank you Arnav ji, Aman ji had told me that you strictly instructed money not to be taken into account for Jiji’s first date-” Khushi’s breath hitched and smile fell at the intensity of his dark gaze. Many nights ago, he had looked at her in the exact manner. No, he couldn’t look at her like this. Not now, not when it was impossible.
“Khushi!” Arnav and Khushi snapped out of their eyelock as Payal ran and grabbed Khushi in her arms, swinging her in excitement.
“Why… you didn’t have to work so hard? When did you find the time? Khushi you shouldn’t have!” Payal fretted but couldn’t stop smiling. Khushi laughed and jumped in equal fervor.
“Offo Jiji, first tell me whether you like it or not.” Khushi asked.
“Like it? Khushi ji this is beyond what either of us expected!” Akash, finally finding words and Payal’s hand, told Khushi.
“Exactly, it’s as if we have-” Payal began, “-entered a fantasy.” Akash completed. Payal and Akash looked at each other, and immediately looked away, blush creeping up their cheeks.
“Alright, it’s our time to go.” Arnav said. No matter how enchanted he was by the setup, another minute of Akash and Payal’s romance would send him to the hospital for blood sugar - even if he wasn’t diagnosed with diabetes.
Khushi, on the other hand, scowled at the interruption. She wanted to sit and watch the entire exchange. Nothing interested her more than romance. In reality. Or on television. Or both - Kamlesh Tha Khabri Ab Pandit Ji, a show where her favorite news anchor married brides and grooms across the country was her current obsession.
“No really Khushi ji, this is very… very…” Akash cracked a wide toothed smile, the fashion analyst and romantic in him too satisfied by what he saw.
“Beautiful,” Arnav murmured. Khushi stiffened, noticing that Arnav wasn’t looking at the setup at all. In bringing out the best for Payal, Khushi had bared her heart and fantasies in front of the one man who quashed it all down. This was a mistake.
“You’ve nearly done better than Bhansali.” Akash brought Khushi out of her thoughts. And just like that, Khushi’s worries disappeared.
“Hey Devi Maiya! Really?” Khushi shrieked.
“Bhansali? Is he a photographer or-” Arnav frowned, the name seeming familiar.
“-arrey Sanjay Leela Bhansali! Hindi film director.”
“Of course,” Arnav muttered.
“He’s known for his grand designs. Also, he has worked with everyone - Amitabh Bachchan ji, Aishwarya ji, Shah Rukh ji, Salman ji-” Khushi gushed, “-but Akash ji, you’re quick to catch my reference. And you’re being too kind!” Akash scoffed at her humility.
“No way! It’s one thing to see a song and another to bring it to life. This is a replica of Chand Chupa-”
“Baadal Main!” Khushi shrieked, yanking a bemused Payal’s hand. If anything, Akash and Khushi’s budding friendship only made her fall faster and harder Akash.
“No, the moon does not hide. Scientifically it’s a matter of perception-” Khushi and Akash simultaneously rolled their eyes.
“They’re talking about a song in a film.” Payal clarified. Arnav had the grace not to turn red out of embarrassment.
“Yes, I was only speaking about the futility of this metaphor. Thank goodness I’ve never seen such films-” Payal signaled Arnav to stop talking. He did, after noticing Khushi gawking at him.
“You… you’ve NEVER SEEN Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam?!”
“No-” Arnav, belatedly caught Payal miming a movement of a belt buckle. What the hell? Payal wears belts? What shitty move is this? Oh shit… is this a Salman Khan film?
“And you’ve NEVER seen Chand Chupa Badal Main?” Khushi emphasized, forgetting the man in front of her refrained from almost any and every Salman Khan film.
“Chand Chupa Badal Main!” She stressed, wildly gesticulating to the entire studio. Arnav nodded negatively. Payal’s plan to rescue Arnav from Khushi’s hysteria was interrupted with Akash handing her a white rose. It was a nice interruption.
Khushi unpinned her dupatta and lifted the white translucent fabric high in the air. The faint glow of the candles and moonlight danced across her face.
“Chand Chupa-” Khushi’s smile halted at his haunted eyes. Arnav’s hand itched to pull the fabric away. Against every will, his hand rose.
“Khushi ji,” Akash said. Arnav froze and violently tucked his hand back into his pocket. Khushi dropped her dupatta like a hot coal. “Bhai has not even seen the film, so the song’s a long shot! But I have-”
It’s the precise moment Akash realized his brother was staring at him.
“I have… heard, heard about my film. During my tenth board exams, when I left for tuition classes - my friends told me about the film. I did not watch it. I did not skip classes - Bhai you know me.” Payal gripped Akash’s arm to stop his verbal diarrhea.
“Your tenth grade results suddenly make a lot of sense.” Arnav folded his arms, staring at a pale Akash.
“What are you saying Bhai?! I got ninety four percent, despite watching-” Payal pinched his arm. Khushi, if not worried about her to-be-brother-in-law’s future at the hands of his brother, would have cooed at Payal’s concern.
“-birds.” Akash croaked, “and Bhai, you were anyways miles away at Harvard. It’s not that you would’ve known-”
“Known how wonderfully talented Khushi is!” Payal interjected. Akash nodded, so quickly that Khushi was afraid his head might fall off. Seriously, what’s the big deal? It’s not that Arnav ji would kill Akash ji for watching a Salman Khan film!
Khushi opened her mouth to pacify the Laad Governor, and with one look she chose to her right to remain silent. Arnav positively glowered, and because of the dim light one wouldn’t see the smoke fuming out of his nose and ears.
“I love how pretty this is!” Payal continued, “The fairy lights, roses, moonlight, pond, table, chair, candles” Payal pointed at each element.
“Candles… Khushi, you told Aman to switch off the fire sprinklers for the studio, right?” Arnav turned to a very still Khushi.
“Khushi ji must have done that, she’s worked here before.” Akash supported her.
“Exactly,” Arnav glared at her.
“A few-” Arnav raised an eyebrow, “-hundred candles won’t cause any trouble-” Khushi whispered and at that precise moment, the fire sprinklers activated with an alarm.
The candles, studio’s decorations, Akash’s dreams, Payal’s expectations and Khushi’s plans were sufficiently doused.
---
With Payal in the washroom and Akash in the AR wardrobe, post his wise decision of bringing spare clothes for the rest, Khushi murmured a prayer as Arnav dragged her to Akash’s office.
He pushed back his wet hair and thumped an empty vase in the center of Akash’s table.
“Ar-”
“Shut up!” He stormed to his cabin and returned, a bunch of white roses in his hand. With brutal force he pushed the stems into the vase. Khushi stood in the corner, her hands folded ahead of her like a naughty child punished by a school teacher.
Arnav grumbled, the fairy light trees were- thankfully - waterproof. As Arnav bent to pick one heavy tree up, Khushi edged forward to help.
“Don’t!” He barked. She quickly resumed to her position, fidgeting with the edge of her wet dupatta.
“Fuck!” He exclaimed as none of the lights switched on. Khushi tiptoed by him and put the plug into the socket. Arnav glared at her as the lights came to life. He removed his wet coat, vest and tie and handed it to her.
“Ar-”
“Just stand here.” He ordered and rolled back his sleeves. With a swift squat he picked up two heavy trees and deposited them on the corners of Akash’s office.
“Unbelievable! You are unbelievable Khushi Kumari Gupta! THIS was your plan? Tell me, does any stupid song of yours have a rain sequence?” Arnav huffed.
“Tip tip barsa pani-” Khushi squeaked as Arnav shot her a glare, “No I mean you asked about a rain song… no of course that’s not going to come into real life! You don’t have to be upset - it’s not a Salman Khan song!” She stepped back as Arnav marched towards her, his anger rising at every statement.
“It’s Akshay ji and Raveena ji’s song. He wears a brown suit while she wears a yellow saree an-and I’m sorry!” Khushi clutched her eyes shut.
“I don’t care who’s song it is! I don’t care what they’re wearing. This is Akash’s first date with a woman he wants to marry and that’s all I care about!” Arnav growled and slapped his palm against the wall.
“I didn’t do this purposely! And it’s not just your brother’s first date - it’s also my sister’s!” Khushi jutted her chin, matching his temperament. How dare he accuse her! It was just an accident! But his eyes bored into hers, as if he believed she was intentionally capable of ruining things.
“Why is it so easy for you to believe the worst of me?” Khushi choked up. Arnav lost his grip, his palms slid off the wall, his anger replaced by confusion.
“I don’t-”
“Bhai, Payal and I got some clothes for you and Khushi ji,” Arnav and Khushi sprang away from each other.
“You’re wearing-”
“A brown suit. And I took the liberty of getting a charcoal grey one for-” Akash stopped, realising Arnav and Khushi were gawking at him.
“What happened?”
Payal had appeared, draped in a canary yellow saree.
Khushi, warily, turned to a shocked Arnav.
“You’re fucking kidding me!”
