OK, I seriously can't believe someone actually thinks this about season 4 of Never Have I Ever:
"In 2023, the message of the show suddenly turned into *"racism, white supremacy, patriarchy, and class inequity doesn't exist anymore. Devi did a Bollywood dance, got into Princeton, and a racist white guy said he loves her at the last minute, so everything is going to be okay (for Gen Z)."*
This is the opposite of the premise that the show started with in 2020, which acknowledged the brutal unfairness in the world."
Firstly, it wasn't a Bollywood dance. They danced to the Tamil dubbed version of a song that is originally Telugu. Tamil cinema is known as Kollywood, and Telugu cinema is known as Tollywood. Maybe people who comment so much on racism should learn a little more about not clubbing all of Indian culture together. As a Telugu woman who lives in Tamil Nadu, I'd like to say that I was really happy with the dance number. I was especially happy because it wasn't a Bollywood dance (season 1 just used Hindi songs, and that really annoyed me because Devi is Tamil).
The show literally acknowledged that Devi ("our little hothead from the valley") was happy in that moment. There was no claim about everything being okay forever. It's just that she is better equipped to deal with problems now. She will continue to grow non-linearly, just like she did throughout the show.
Of course, the show became less about dealing with intense grief as it went on - time heals. But they did portray that grief still lingers, despite that.
Also, the portrayal of familial relationships was great - Devi talking about how it's cool to live with three generations of women in her house, Nalini having to deal with empty nest syndrome, Nalini talking about her own struggle with having to start over in the US after being a top resident in India (but of course, the last season does not acknowledge how brutally unfair the world is /s) and how she was just trying to protect Devi from being devastated, Devi setting her mother up (showing how much she had healed and grown since season 2), Kamala being too attached to her family to move away and Nalini telling her that change is good (and even Kamala's coping mechanism of becoming overprotective of Nirmala), Kamala and Devi's sweet moments, the family's acceptance and joyous celebration of Nirmala finding love again, Nirmala calling Nalini out for being mean to Devi, and of course, the heartwarming scene of Nalini helping Devi pack and telling her she's proud of her. Devi's final monologue focused primarily on how much she cares about her mother. Did all of that mean nothing to some people?
Never Have I Ever is not an unproblematic show. But I still can't believe it's being reduced to this. I. Seriously. Just. Can't. Devi was so much more comfortable in her skin than when the show started, and was no longer obsessed with external validation. Her relationship with Nalini had improved greatly. She embraced her culture so much more. She was okay with not getting into Princeton, and realised that she'd always be connected to her father no matter what. I don't mind that she didn't completely give up on her Princeton dream. I don't think she needed to, to show that she had healed. She was able to tell her dad's story in a way that felt true to herself, and did not feel exploitative (she reclaimed her power from a racist white guy). She was truly happy when she prayed to the gods before leaving to Princeton. She was surrounded by people who cared about her and loved her, as she said. And she was happily in the middle of a fun game of Never Have I Ever before Ben showed up. She had learned to love herself and her life. The show having a happy (for now) ending does not equal them saying that everything is going to be okay forever. The world is still brutally unfair. Devi is just a little better at dealing with it.
I don't know who needs to hear this but Never Have I Ever had a TEAM DEVI ending! Just because Devi was not single at the end of the show/ended up with someone you dislike, it doesn't mean that the ending wasn't a win for team Devi.
TEAM DEVI FOR THE WIN! AND THAT'S WHAT WE GOT.
I'll acknowledge that there were issues with the show throughout all four seasons. But I can't see such an empowering show being dismissed in such a ridiculous way.

Psycho teddy au
I have a psycho teddy au idea but I might only draw him once and hate him but its basically a newer version?? hes a mix of rtdm and jamster (maybe Dj teddy z too?) design he CRAVES attention from EVERYONE like even if your walking down the road and that teddy is a mile away hes soon gonna be grabbing your leg and never get bored of you no matter what (yes he has attachment issues in the anxious attachment style way) If you ignore him for a long time or just don't interact he'll get annoyed.. if you reject him or hurt his feelings he'll cut down your legs with his claws and run off.. If you attack him with anything his eyes will go black a creepy smile will appear on his face and HE'LL ACTUALLY TAKE YOUR DAMN LIFE!!! (You cannot kill this thing he'll always come back and hunt you down..maybe immortal?) He's ok with children but has a insane potty mouth (sometimes it just "slips out" But he does give them a very good threat if kids repeat what he says (no he doesnt actually do the threats (unless otherwise) he just scares the kids)) He'll sometimes give himself nicknames so people won't freak out at the name "psycho" He tends to call himself "PT The teddy DJ" He'll do anything to be famous even if it means doing covers of famous songs like Axel F and many others even TV shows, Podcast's or radio (I just imagining him getting voted off on RTDM and then he comes back only to kill the host) He's a mixed of Russian,Hindi,German and Australian (yes I know you can probably only have two but I had to include German and Australian) But first appeared in India
I duno what else to add but feel free to ask questions about him and ill answer

Today marks the 42nd death anniversary of Bharat Vyas, the writer of the timeless prayer song “Aye Malik Tere Bande Hum” and many other classic songs in various films. Bharat Vyas was a leading lyricist of the golden era of Hindi film music, writing songs for movies in the 1950s and 1960s. He was well-known for his work with the famous director V. Shantaram, penning lyrics for many memorable songs. Some of his notable films include Navrang, Goonj Uthi Shehnai, Rani Rupmati, Do Aankhen Barah Haath, Kavi Kalidas, Saranga, Janam Janam Ke Phere, and Stree. Born in Churu, Rajasthan on December 18, 1918, he moved to Bombay after finishing his studies in Calcutta. Bharat Vyas began his Bollywood career as a lyricist with Duhaai (1943), writing all nine songs for the film. The music of Duhaai caught the attention of producer-director W. Z. Ahmed, who owned Shalimar Pictures. At Shalimar, Bharat Vyas wrote 12 songs for the film Prem Sangeet. His major success at Shalimar was Man Ki Jeet (1944), where his song “Aye Chand Na Itarana, Aate Hein Mere Sanyya” became a big hit. He developed a close working relationship with composer Khemchand Prakash, creating musicals like Ziddi, Bijalee, Tamasha, and Muqaddar. The 1950s were the most productive years for Bharat Vyas. He collaborated with top directors like Bimal Roy, V. Shantaram, and Vijay Bhatt. During this time, he wrote some of the most beautiful songs for films like Chandralekha, Parineeta, Toofan Aur Diya, Do Aankhen Barah Haath, Sahara, Anhulimal, Suvarna Sundari, Kavi Kalidas, Navrang, Goonj Uthi Shehnai, Rani Rupmati, Saranga, Janam Janam Ke Phere, Hum Hindustani, Stree, and Boond Jo Ban Gayi Moti. He also tried his hand at film direction with Rangeela Rajasthani (1949) and a few other Rajasthani films. Despite his success with many social films, Bharat Vyas became typecast as a lyricist for historical and mythological films, with most of his work in the 1960s falling into these genres. He continued to work through the 1970s and early 1980s, but the number of films he worked on decreased during this period. Bharat Vyas passed away in Mumbai on July 5, 1982. At the time of his death, he was working on a project to present the Ramayana in poetic form, set to music by Shyam Sagar. He was also directing two Rajasthani films. A brilliant poet, Bharat Vyas is remembered for his pure Hindi. Anyone with an appreciation for the language can quickly recognize his genius.

three songs you wish you could erase from history (because they’re terrible)
Oh, I am not this kind of hater. If I don't like a song* I just don't like it, but I'm just so keenly aware that a song that isn't for me is probably for someone else and saying "that's so bad it shouldn't exist" in a fun-petty way don't sit right with me.
Also, I'm bad at remembering things I actually like; there ain't no damn way I'm going to remember things I don't like (and therefore do not engage with).
*this also applies to just about every other form of art
three favourite songs for sex
I wouldn't listen to music for that because I like to hear myself LOL (that's a half-joke... but only half) but if I were going to pick three songs that I think would sound good in like, a cinematic fictionalisation of a sex scene of mine, then:
Waving Goodbye, Sia (ok this might be like, hyperspecific mental association [this was in a Nicolas Winding Refn movie -> I'm attracted to NWR -> you get the drift] but also I think it's got a good groove)
Walk On By, Isaac Hayes (idk man it's not sexy per se but it's sexy to me! slow striptease time)
The Taste of Blood, SQÜRL (from Only Lovers Left Alive. which is a sexy movie. I rest my case.)
three songs that never fail to get you pumped up
Banye, Akwaeke
Götterdämmerung, Zeal & Ardor (wasn't I so good about not just shoving Z&A songs in every single answer. finally, have a Z&A song)
What's Up Danger, Blackway (from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, of course)
three favourite non-English songs
Yaad, Bloodywood (Hindi)
Senzafine, Lacuna Coil (Italian)
Dom andra, kent BUT ALSO the Ihsahn cover (Swedish)

☮ i ❁ z ask game'a :)
☮ : translate the first lines of your favourite song in your language
Ufff decidir es difícil... mira, voy a usar mi canción más escuchada según spotify (de 2021 shhh la de 2022 fue en inglés):
I dreamt every day with reaching the beach/and now it's so close, I can nearly smell it/and I'm seeing the end come closer and closer/I can feel dry earth after the wet sand
Tierra - Xoel López
❁ : which language(s) do you think of as the most beautiful?
Speak your language day asks!

The Digital Symphony: Music Streaming in the Modern World
The music industry has embraced the digital revolution, bringing unprecedented convenience and diversity to listeners worldwide. Platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music have become household names, reshaping how we consume music. Beyond technology, these platforms have also sparked cultural shifts and debates, from defining key terms like "streamers" to determining the greatest artists. In this article, we’ll explore how music streaming has transformed our lives and highlight its most significant aspects.
Understanding Streamers Meaning in Hindi
For Indian music enthusiasts, terms like "streamers" have become part of everyday vocabulary. The streamers meaning in Hindi translates to “स्ट्रीमिंग करने वाले,” referring to individuals or platforms that broadcast content online.
With the rise of streaming, platforms like Spotify and YouTube have revolutionized how music is consumed, enabling users to explore genres from around the globe. This accessibility has bridged cultural gaps and brought diverse sounds to Indian listeners, reshaping the nation’s musical landscape.
Is Spotify Free Forever? Exploring Its Offerings
One of the most common questions among music lovers is, is Spotify free forever? Spotify’s free version is indeed available indefinitely, providing access to millions of songs and playlists. However, it comes with some limitations:
Ads disrupt the listening experience.
Mobile users face shuffle-only restrictions.
Skips are limited to a certain number per hour.
For an uninterrupted and enhanced experience, Spotify Premium offers benefits like ad-free listening, offline downloads, and higher sound quality. While the free tier caters to casual listeners, the premium version is perfect for those seeking a seamless music experience.
How to Connect Spotify to Alexa
Incorporating smart technology into daily life has made music streaming even more convenient. If you’ve ever wondered how to connect Spotify to Alexa, it’s a straightforward process:
Open the Alexa app and navigate to “Settings.”
Select “Music & Podcasts” and choose Spotify.
Log in with your Spotify account.
Set Spotify as your default music service.
Once connected, you can control your music with simple commands like, “Alexa, play my workout playlist,” or “Alexa, play relaxing music.” This feature enhances the hands-free experience, making it ideal for multitaskers.
Who Is the Best Rapper? Exploring the Debate
The question of who is the best rapper is one of music’s most enduring debates. Over the years, hip-hop legends like Tupac Shakur, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and Jay-Z have captivated fans with their distinct styles and lyrical prowess.
Each artist brings something unique:
Tupac: A poetic storyteller who addressed social issues with unmatched emotion.
Eminem: A technical genius known for his wordplay and complex rhymes.
Jay-Z: A mogul who blends business acumen with lyrical dexterity.
Kendrick Lamar: A modern trailblazer with thought-provoking themes and versatile flows.
Ultimately, the title of "best rapper" depends on personal preferences, but the diversity of talent within the genre ensures that every fan can find their favorite voice.
The Largest Music Company in the World
Behind every great artist is often a powerhouse music company. The largest music company in the world plays a pivotal role in shaping the industry, managing top-tier artists and controlling global distribution.
Universal Music Group (UMG), Sony Music Entertainment, and Warner Music Group are the three titans of the industry, collectively managing the majority of the world’s most popular music. Their influence extends beyond artist management to include strategic marketing, music licensing, and investment in new technologies.
These companies are instrumental in ensuring that music reaches global audiences while supporting emerging talent and innovations in production and distribution.
The Role of Algorithms in Music Discovery
One of the most revolutionary aspects of streaming platforms is their use of algorithms to personalize the listening experience. Platforms like Spotify analyze user behavior to create customized playlists, such as Discover Weekly or Daily Mix.
This technology introduces listeners to new artists and genres they might never have encountered, fostering a deeper connection to music. It also empowers independent artists, as their tracks have a chance to appear in curated playlists, gaining exposure to global audiences.
Conclusion
Music streaming has transformed how we interact with songs, artists, and even technology. From learning about “streamers” in Hindi to connecting Spotify with Alexa, the modern music experience is both interactive and enriching. Moreover, the integration of smart algorithms and the efforts of industry giants ensure that music remains dynamic and accessible.
As we embrace this digital symphony, one thing is clear: the future of music is as vibrant and exciting as ever.
What features do you find most valuable in music streaming platforms? Let us know in the comments below!
