Arshi FF : Pandora’s Box
Author : Munchy
Status : Completed and available on Munchy’s blog
Genre : Romance, Angst, Tragedy
“Keep reading” for my two cents on the story. Minor spoilers ahead. Warnings at the end of the review.
My first serious caution for this story, this isn’t for the faint of heart. If you like your Arnav and Khushi wrapped up in the comfort and warmth of love, away from any and all kinds of hurt and especially morally grey situations, you should probably skip this one. But if you’re a fan of ethereal writing, imperfect characters and a tear jerking angst fest with a side of passionate Arshi, dive right in.
The story’s tagline is ‘That life is a circle is a myth. It spirals’. And that’s exactly one feels reading the story.
Munchy’s story begins in the 1940s, with British ruled India at the brink of partition. While ASR here is Arnav Singh Raizada, KKG is Khushi Kauser Ghilani, two neighbors about to be swept in a whirlwind. The author paints a stunning visual of Punjab and you will find yourself literally back in time with her words. Arnav is back to his ancestral home after his upbringing in English schools and high society of delhi, while Khushi Ghilani had enjoyed a free reign over all the love Arnav’s family could bestow on their lovely neighbor in their small part of the town.
An unfortunate first meet in a Mango Orchard turns our protagonists sour (of course Arnav and Khushi will fight. Duh uh), but they soon find themselves in the web of undeniable attraction towards each other. And right when they’re dealing with minor issues like the first wave of teenage love and heartbreak, the country goes through one of its darkest periods and their lives are turned upside down overnight.
Pointed out to me once in a discussion and I wholeheartedly agree, one of the things that caught me off guard about this fanfic was the portrayal of impact of partition on day to day life of children. You see the worsening environment from their eyes, when suddenly the families and friends they grew up with are now considered enemies. When they can’t be as carefree as they would have loved with their doting neighbours; because now their different faith comes first. Those chapters had me in a chokehold and I’ve read through them with eyes full of tears. The whole story feels like a ticking time bomb when it begins, and it blows up right in your face. Social practices prevalent at that time will also make you want to puke your insides out.
And over the base of all this anguish and tragedy, Arnav and Khushi are looking to build a life together. It hurts every step of the way, so when the small moments of happiness come along you will soak it all up as a reader.
But fair warning, this is Munchy writing angst. And it will make itself known! Every story that I’ve read from her leaves my heart longing for something more, anger at having fate play a cruel role, and almost clawing my brain out, wishing I can get into those pages and fix the whole world for my beloved pair. But as always, life and Munchy’s stories aren’t fair. They’re however emotional, beautiful and extraordinary!
Warnings- Cheating, Violence, Underage Sex

Arshi Fiesta 2024 Theme : Colours/Stages of Love!
Sharing a one shot that I wrote sometime ago. I've added a few tweaks to include the word prompt reverie @arshifiesta
Click on the link to read it on wattpad
Scarlet Hues
Arnav held her, as she leaned into his chest, feeling his heartbeat, their heartbeats beat as one. He was in awe of her beauty- her hair, her eyes, her smile. She looked more beautiful now with a scarlet hue from the gulaal and with his senses being enhanced by the bhaang.
He never wanted this moment to end - them together by the pool, in each other's embrace. It felt like a dream, a daydream no less. In this moment, there was only love in his heart, no anger, no hatred, no thoughts of her betrayal. In this moment, she was just Khushi and he was the Arnav she fell in love with. It was perfect. So, he simply held her to himself.
As he took all of her in, her fingers entwined with his, the weight of her on his chest, her deep breathing, he realised she'd fallen asleep.
The reverie was breaking. The fog in his head, from the all bhaang was slowly lifting as well. The moment had to come an end. He carefully carried her sleeping form, not before admiring her one more time, and lay her down on his bed. She scrunched her face, as if she was missing his closeness, but went back to sleep.
"Chhote!" Anjali's call echoed through the door.
Arnav opened the door.
"Here you go, Lemon pickles. Take them, freshen up and come down for tea with everyone." She said and left the room to Khushi and himself.
Things were becoming clearer by the second and he did as he was instructed by his sister. A question rose in his mind.
Should I wake Khushi up? She had slept by the pool the past few days. Maybe, she could have the bed for the time being.
Right then, Khushi moved in her sleep, she looked uneasy and she murmured something which sounded a lot like 'no...stay away'
Concerned, Arnav rushed to her side and Khushi woke up with a jolt. Before Arnav could react, Khushi had assessed her surrounding and looked relieved and her body relaxed.
"Arey waah! When did I float from the poolside to the bed?" She asked, still very much under the influence.
Arnav simply smiled and handed over the lemon pickle. He was almost sober now.
"Have this... We have to go downstairs..."
At the mention of downstairs, Khushi's expression changed. She looked worried "no...no..I don't want to go downstairs..no...no..." She kept repeating, like a scared child.
Arnav was now sure, something was wrong.
"Khushi! Khushi!" He caught her hands gently calming her down. "Look at me! What happened?" He asked patiently.
"Woh! He is downstairs..." She replied, shaking her head.
"Woh kaun?"
"Woh Ghatiya Aadmi...Here... It's safe Arnav-ji, with you.... I don't want to go downstairs... please" she was almost having a panic attack.
A splicing pain, zapped through Arnav. What was she talking about?
His hand moved in its own accord. He took her palm in his and placed it on his chest. His other hand to cradle the side of her face, his thumb softly caressing her cheek.
"Hey...shh...shh..." He whispered. "Feel that? Feel my heartbeat... Our hearts beat as one, remember? Now breathe with me...deep breaths..."
He seemed to have assuaged her fear.
"We aren't going down, okay?" He assured. She nodded, taking comfort in his touch.
"Good..." He sighed internally, seeing her regain her composure. But, his relief was short lived, as his mind began to race in a thousand different directions.
What was I missing? Who was Khushi scared of? What the fuck is happening?
He looked down at her and she looked like she was studying is features and as if she'd read his mind, she began to speak.
"Woh.... He is taking advantage of my silence... After I found his truth, I broke my engagement with him....Told him to stay away from my family and I...he wouldn't...instead he misbehaved" She mumbled.
Arnav could barely make out from her words, that she was talking something about her ex-fiance.
Was he here? Was he still terrorizing her? Misbehaving with her? I have to find the guy... I'm going to kill him.... Aman can track him down..What was his his name?
Arnav's train of thought abruptly halted upon recalling her ex-fiance's name. A heaviness settled in the pit of his stomach.
No...It couldn't be...
"Sh..Shyam?" He articulated the name.
Khushi's facial expression was enough to confirm is doubt. Even in her intoxicated state , he could make out the fear and disgust on her face.
"Yes, him!" Khushi shut her eyes, in an attempt to will away those fateful memories.
She was visibly flinching to those memories before him.
A tumultuous anger built inside of him, seeing her fighting her demons.
What have I done? Fuck! What have I done? How could I've been so oblivious...The truth was there the whole time. I blamed her without knowing her side of the story and all the while, she was a victim. I put her through hell, when she was already traumatized. Oh no! No! I brought her under the same roof as him.
Arnav was falling deep in the spiral of regret, but, he couldn't let his emotions take over. She was very vulnerable. Her faculties had been compromised. He couldn't let re-live whatever torment that sick bastard had made her endure.
Blinking away his tears, he lightly pressed the pad of his finger to her chin, causing her to flutter her eyes open. They were bloodshot scarlet.
"Look at me, Khushi... A lot has happened today.... You should rest, okay?" He said tenderly.
But, Khushi wasn't fully listening. "I hated it..." She started her lips quivering.
"No..Khushi...You don't have to..." He pled, but it went to deaf ears.
"I hated when he touched me.... It was like..it was like acid on skin...scalding." She was going through it again. This was exactly what he didn't want happening. Her every word was like chipping pieces of his flesh.
"Please...no.. Khu..."
"First, On the day of Sangeet, by the poolside... Then, on the terrace, the day of the wedding..th..then...today..." Arnav cupped her face, finally gaining her attention. She was shivering, tears were flowing uncontrollably.
"Shhh....Khushi... Listen to me... He can't hurt you...not anymore... I'm not going to let that happen...hear me? Yes?" He soothed her, brushing away her tears.
"Yes..."she whimpered. Arnav exhaled audibly.
Without warning, Khushi threw her arms around him, almost knocking him of his balance. He stilled. He hesitated to hold her back, this time, scared, if he'll hurt her. But, Khushi was still shaking from the crying,so, he settled to run his fingers through the length of her hair.
"I never should have hid his truth..." Khushi whispered against his shoulder. Arnav knew what she was doing. He wasn't going to let her.
"Please, don't blame yourself...please..."Arnav implored, "If anything, It's my fault..I should have known, It's my fault. Mine." Tears clouded his vision.
She didn't respond, but only tightened her hold on him.
They stayed like that, till he felt Khushi's body succumb to the day's exhaustion.
He mindfully helped her to a comfortable position, pulled the comforter over her.
As he got up, Khushi clasped his hand. "Stay with me."
Arnav obliged got into the bed, beside her. She lulled back to sleep, immediately. He couldn't sleep, not with what he'd learnt today.
Tomorrow, after the effects of bhaang wore off, she was going to hate him, like she does his vile brother-in-law.
When that would happen, he didn't know what was in store for him. He didn't know if he would ever be able to right the wrongs he'd done to her in this lifetime.
He did know, there was an inferno blazing scarlet inside of him, and he was going to burn the Shyam Manohar Jha down.

ArShi SS: Crossing Boundaries
Warning: 16+, heavy themes on desire
Note: I watched the kidnapping track where they're just so desperate for each other hence this is the end result. And a little gift for the enthusiastic reaction to the Sobti interview!
(Psst, please do go over and paste your comments in the website as well!)
Chapter 1 | Imagination
The mind does not differentiate between thought and reality. If an athlete simply imagined that they were running across a field track, their mind was stimulated as if it were in reality.
Thus when Arnav woke up mid sleep, drenched in sweat, heart racing as remnants of a sinful dream faded with waking, he knew he had crossed the first boundary of whatever moral decency that existed.
Khushi in a modest red saree with a daring backless blouse with no room for a bra.
He knew that it would just take a flick of a finger to undo the blouse.
What if the saree hadn't been pinned?
He had seen the sliver of skin through the gossamer fabric.
The long lashes wet in the rain, lips quivering in confusion...
Could he assume anticipation? Damn it, he was losing his mind. Playing games with Khushi Kumari Gupta was no longer fun. At first he had foolishly thought that it was a battle of wits and he had been so entertained to put her through menial tasks, watch her intelligent mind get frustrated with the redundancy. She was close to making a mistake, to not finding a creative solution for the assignments.
It had taken him one day to realize her mind, and mouth, were as sharp as a razor.
Thus having her stand motionless, mute, with a coat all day was the masterstroke. He saw the way her eyebrows shot up when Liza hugged him, then why did it piss him further when she seemed perfectly unperturbed when Liza continued to harp praises on him. Why did he need to get her attention on him?
And since when had Arnav Singh Raizada fret over a nobody.
Fret. Arnav scoffed, he was wiser than that. Obsession was the truth. There was something about her, something that frustrated him to no end.
Because having anything with Khushi Kumari Gupta would change the fundamental outlook of his life. She valued love, marriage, commitment and would see lust in the bracket of sin.
Arnav flopped back in his bed, content with being exhausted enough to catch a few more hours of sleep.
Being attracted to Khushi Kumari Gupta would challenge his formative beliefs and there's no way he would be trading his foundation for a passing fancy.
Even in a hypothetical world, Khushi wouldn't change to fit in his life. She wouldn't ever be a safe bet.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
Khushi couldn't risk fancying Arnav Singh Raizada. Fancy? Khushi sighed in defeat, twisting away in bed, unable to look at Payal's sleeping face nor Devi Maiyya.
She was bothered by her relief in staying back in Delhi. Of course staying back in the same city as Buaji meant the most, but he lived in this city too.
Something bugged her about Arnav Singh Raizada. It almost felt like if she spent another minute in his presence, something might happen.
Something that might fundamentally change Khushi Kumari Gupta.
Something for which she'd trade her strict upbringing and romantic dreams.
In the romantic novels she sneaked in at library, the term fancy felt closest. Because this couldn't be love. But it bore the symptoms of it all.
Yes, she wanted to see him again, yet run away at first sight.
Yes, he made her pulse go faster, as well as her nerves.
Yes, she had dreams where he caressed her hair in her sleep, and a reality where he'd push her buttons to the extremes.
The contradictions ruled out anything that could happen between them. But when she told she couldn't, no, wouldn't see him ever again, she wanted to stay back and look at the disaster on his face.
They had nothing, but it felt like she broke something.
Khushi closed her eyes, shivering at the wind brushing her hair across her forehead.
He stared at her, brushing the hair away. Once to see her, then again to caress her. She felt his strong hands rest on her skin as he carried her, lightweight. The sheer power in his physicality - the heat emanating from his skin or the eyes that just saw right through what she wore.
Imagination was worse than reality, Khushi concluded.
Reality gave one the excuse to state that one didn't anticipate crossing the boundary. But imagination revealed that one was yearning to cross it all along.

Redamancy
This one shot is inspired by this prompt by @arshifiesta
Also on Wattpad
“ How long will Sahil be Aman?”
“ An hour”
Swearing under his breath, Arnav brought up a hand to loosen his tie.
“ Marcos has called the garage as well so don’t worry ASR”
Leaning back against the now broken car, Arnav took out his pack of cigarettes and offered one to Aman.
The two men cut out as dashing figures, with their impeccable suits and cigarette dangling from their mouths.
“ You want to sit somewhere? Hartford has great coffee “
“ Sure”
———
They stood in front of a glass door, below the sign ‘Cafe Captain’.
A bell tinkled as Aman swung the door into the place, the place was painted in hues of brown resembling an old British bakery. The strong smell of coffee permeated Arnav’s senses and he headed towards the counter.
“ ….so yes, while a croissant is nice, it doesn’t hold a torch to our cream bun. They melt in your mouth!”
Arnav heard the waitress go on and on about cream buns. He stopped himself from clucking impatiently.
Finally, he thought as he moved forward.
“ One black coffee “
He read the chirpy girl’s name tag- Khushi
A gasp forced him to look back up. “ It is horrendous. Why would you do this? Why? I mean I understand if you are hungover or hmm probably a diabetic, are you?”
“ Um no, I am not”
“ Great! Then darling go sit right there and let me bring you the best cup in Hartford!”
Dumbfounded, Arnav simply paid and went towards the table Khushi had pointed to. It was only when he sat down that he wanted to kick himself.
What am I doing? Black coffee was fine.
It didn’t help that Aman was smirking as he sat down, amusement filling his eyes.
“ I thought no one could boss you around. Glad I am wrong”
“ Just shut up”
He looked up to see the girl walk towards his table with a huge smile.
Placing the huge cup down, she giggled.
“ This will help you! And trust me you will find yourself here everyday “ she said with a wink.
“ And here you go! Lemon tea!”
Aman thanked her while his eyes rested gleefully on a flushed ASR.
It was only after she had taken her place back at the counter, that Arnav looked at his cup. There in white cream was a sun drawn with a smile on it.
——
He found himself at the doorstep of Cafe Captain again the next day. He couldn’t risk bringing that bastard with his all knowing gaze ,with him. Especially, when he himself couldn’t understand the helplessness he felt as he remembered her laughter “ And trust me you’ll find yourself here everyday”
Tinkling bells greeted him and he headed straight towards the queue.
Arnav couldn’t take his eyes off her. The excited bobbing of her head, her laugh, the scrunch of her nose when she disagreed with something, and the way her hands moved when she was explaining the merits of glazed sugar cookies. Everything fascinated Arnav. He felt like he was watching a doll come to life.
And when it was his turn, she flashed him a beautiful smile. “ Just go sit!”
That’s all she said to him. And that’s all he needed.
He watched her work. Preparing his cup , taking the small white jug in her dainty hands and placing it on a coaster.
“Here you go!”
Arnav looked down to see a sunflower smiling up from his coffee. He sipped as he watched her work, chatter and flutter around like a butterfly.
He would never admit the disappointment he felt when she didn’t come to talk to him again. He gulped down the last bit of the milky - sugar filled concoction and headed back out.
——
“ Hey!”
Looking up from the cream doodle of a dog, Arnav stared right into Khushi’s eyes.
“ Congratulations!”
“ Um…for what?”
“ You have been coming here daily for the past week, so now you are my regular “, Khushi said with a wink.
“ Thanks, I guess” Arnav hoped his boring drawl seemed perfect to her. Because otherwise she will know how he really felt about her grouping him with all her other “regulars”.
“ What’s your name? “ she asked in such a soft voice that he found himself answering, forgetting the earlier slight.
“ Arnav”
“Arnav” she repeated as if rolling his name on her tongue.
“ So tell me Arnav, what do you do apart from drinking my marvellous coffee?”she said with a cheeky grin.
“ I run AR.”
“ The design house! Oh my god! I love your clothes! “
“ The designers will be glad to hear that”
“ So…you don’t design any of your clothes?”
“ I used to. Lately…I haven’t found the time”
“ That’s a shame. Something so creative should never be given up!”
Arnav looked away. He should have reminded himself why he didn’t date. He didn’t want a lecture on his workaholism. Di was enough for that.
“ Hey…I am sorry. I didn’t mean to touch on a nerve. God knows I haven’t picked up a guitar since school and I want to scratch anyone’s eyes who reminds me!”
Arnav had to smile at that.
“ Guess that makes us alike”
And in the next moment, his breath caught, as Khushi’s cheeks flushed a beautiful pink.
——
Aman tore into his chapati, as Anjali served more aloo-matar onto his plate.
“ Slow down Aman! There’s enough for you to eat till you burst!” Anjali laughed.
Shyam smiled, “ Well, that’s what bachelor life is, isn’t it? Perennially hungry, filling time with cup noodles and coffee! Aman and Arnav, it’s time for both of you to get married.”
“ Speaking of coffee, Arnav does seem ready to be hitched” Aman spoke before stuffing his mouth again, oblivious to Arnav’s glare.
“ Chotte! Who is the girl? When were you going to tell us?”
“ And what is the connection with coffee saale saheb?”
The chair screeched as Arnav pushed it back and stood up, silencing them all.
“ I am done with lunch”
And he walked out, ignoring Anjali’s protests and Aman’s laughter.
That bastard.
As he roamed the streets of New York, Arnav couldn’t help but wonder about Khushi. He was smitten, he had admitted with quite difficulty one evening, when he had been driven mad when he learnt Khushi had taken a leave because she was sick. The next day he brought a basket of apples and a bouquet of lilies for her. Her giggle had been worth the embarrassment he had felt ,when Aman found out what he was planning to do.
But did she like him? He kicked a rock at the curb and exhaled in frustration. She seemed to greet all her customers with the same glee and modify their opinions on sweet treats with as much vigour as she poured the sugar in his coffee.
His only hope was the doodle on his daily coffee. He hadn’t seen her do that to anyone’s cup. The others would just get simple cream hearts. That was a sign wasn’t it?
That’s it. ASR is not so weak that he is brought to his knees by a woman. He will ask her if she’s interested in him. That’s simple. He has tackled million dollar deals with fabric companies, this would be nothing.
———
Arnav swirled the wheel, drove forward and parked, unaware of the light in his eyes as it fell on the brightly lit coffee shop.
He pushed the cafe’s door open, but the sight in front of him made him stop in his tracks.
Khushi had thrown her head back in laughter as a man stood leaning against her counter.
A splinter opened somewhere in his chest as he realised he had never made her laugh like this. He had never made her blush so red. Overwhelmed, Arnav was about to turn back and leave when his eyes caught Khushi’s.
With no choice but to get through the evening, he headed towards his usual table. He didn’t glance at the man again, he couldn’t. He wanted to tear him to pieces. He clenched his trembling hand into a fist.
He looked up at Khushi when she placed his cup down. She was still a beautiful shade of pink. Her smile was soft, her eyes glazing. Before he could say a word, she had moved back towards her counter in a hurry.
Frowning slightly, Arnav glanced down at his coffee. He gulped painfully as he saw bloody hearts on them. So, this new man comes along and he doesn’t get a special doodle. He gets what all her customers get. That’s what he was to her. A douchebag in a suit, who had nothing better to do every evening than sip her coffee.
Arnav shut his eyes, and breathed deeply. He opened them to see that it had begun raining outside. Bloody poetic, he thought. Unable to control the spiralling of his emotions, Arnav stood up in a flash and dashed out of the cafe, his coffee left untouched.
——
His leather shoes splashed against the fallen raindrops as he hurried to get to his car. To get out of this damned place.
He heard footsteps behind him before he heard the shout “ Arnav!”
He turned to see Khushi holding an umbrella above herself and another in her hand. She smiled somewhat hesitatingly, as she extended the umbrella to him.
Rage flooded his being as he stared at the beautiful woman standing before him, a deepening sorrow in him as he was reminded of his one sided love.
“Don’t need it “ he gritted out.
Her eyes widened in shock at his tone.
“ Wha- what happened ?”
“You want to know what happened? I have not been able to function normally ever since I walked into your bloody cafe after my car broke down that god forsaken day! You and your sweet coffee have driven me mad. And here I am, a grown man, waiting for the clock to strike 5 so that I can leave to travel from New York to Hartford. Just to…just to hear you laugh, just to see you smile, just to get a doodle on my coffee. A doodle that’s just mine. And today yo- you are laughing with another man, turning red when he is speaking. And..and doodling just hearts for me! Hearts you do for every other regular of yours.” Arnav burst out, every word hiding his grief.
He stared at Khushi for a moment. A moment in which both of them didn’t even dare to breathe .
Her grip loosened as the umbrellas fell from her hands, she reached him in a few steps, uncaring of the rain soaking her, entwined her hands around his neck and kissed him.
Arnav froze as her warmth permeated his whole being. A rush of joy flooded his brain. But it wasn’t enough. His hands grabbed her waist, tightening in desperation as he deepened the kiss. He tilted her back further as he drank her. A shiver ran through Khushi as she moved her hands to clutch his hair in an almost painful grasp. She pushed his shoulder lightly, as she attempted to break away from the kiss. Arnav kissed the corner of her lips, before kissing down her neck to her collar bones.
“ Arnav! “ Khushi giggled. “ It’s raining pretty heavily, if you haven’t noticed “
He stood looking at her smiling figure. Breaking out of his trance, he grabbed her hand, and began walking to his car.
——
“ Cold na?” Khushi asked with an obvious shiver, as she rubbed her hands together vigorously for some warmth.
Arnav reached into the dashboard, took out a navy blue sweater, which was a size too large for her and without a word dropped it over her head.
She giggled again. Arnav couldn’t help smiling.
He heard her gasp, before he felt her soft hand grabbing his rough one.
“Arnav” she began “ The man I was laughing with was Noah, my sister Lavanya’s boyfriend. He..he was teasing me about…er.. about you. That’s why I was umm turning red” she finished, turning more red than ever before.
His hands turned her face towards him gently. His lips taking hers in a soft kiss.
“Really?” he asked huskily.
“ Really! In fact, I thought you would understand those hearts I drew because I had been drawing something different for you everyday! It had two hearts, Arnav, and they were struck by an arrow. And no, I don’t do this for anyone else” she finished with a pout.
“ I am sorry” he murmured before drawing her into a kiss again. He felt like an addict, he couldn’t get enough of her and he definitely couldn’t leave her tonight.
As she sat, huddled close to him she whispered
“ I love you Arnav”
Tightening his hold on her, he looked down at her lying across his chest. “ I love you too Khushi, more than you can ever imagine “
For now it was enough. It was enough knowing that Arnav was going back to drink the now cold coffee with relish. It was enough knowing that they were going to spend the night in Khushi’s apartment above the cafe. It was enough knowing that two hearts were beating as one.
For now, the rain poured relentlessly , providing them a curtain of privacy as they remained wrapped in each other’s love in the car. Arnav marvelled in the redamancy, as he held the woman he loved in his arms, who loved him.

Yet another...Arshi FF 🤭
A little late to the Tumblr game—still figuring things out—but here I am, steamrolling into yet another FF. I just have an incurable obsession with Khushi and Arnav in a non canon, supernatural setting. Their chemistry is already magic, so why not throw in some actual magic? Synopsis: When Arnav Singh Raizada acquires an abandoned Mahal in a quiet corner of Lucknow, little did he know that he would be sharing the space with an occupant who has lingered in the shadows for over a century. What dark, forgotten secrets does this forsaken Mahal conceal, waiting to be unearthed? Wattpad: The Bride in the Attic

FF idea: arshi in modern times, in an established relationship, living together, fighting with each other but one of them has to go somewhere and forgets to kiss the other goodbye (which they have a habit of doing to each other, no matter what) so they come back quickly before rushing out the door to say bye and give their partner a kiss goodbye.. 😭

“He’s tall…and handsome, wealthy too.”
“And is that all that matters?”
“Well….I mean, it helps.”
Yeah Arnav, it sure does help.

“It’s so cold out here -”
“ASR once saved a dog’s life, you know,”
“What?”
“What?”

“Well yes, of course, it’s cold.” Batman scoffed, looking at her like she was a fool now, “I don’t know why you came out here without a sweater.”
“What are you waiting for?” He continued, “Go get a sweater. In fact, change out of that dress, you’ll get sick.”
Far from ravishing her as she’d hoped. Instead, she’d gotten a scolding that sounded like something she could have called Payal to hear.
“Well alright, you know best, I suppose.” He said casually & she felt like wrenching one of the weapons off his suit & using it on him. He was supposed to become protective, demand she change before she got sick. Instead, he treated her like an adult who knew her own body & could make her own decisions?
One of the best things I've read in my life. Arnav babua can be so clueless sometimes. How to have a crush on a girl and not see the hints she's giving u. My poor, stupid babies.
"What were you saying before?" she prompted, taking a step closer to his form.
"You mean before you drew my attention to how careless you are with your health?" Batman said, turning to face her again, seeming unfazed at her sudden closeness. His eyes bore down into hers and the expression of displeasure on his face made her heart thud erratically in her chest.
Oh. she was going to swoon.
Yeah, same khushi same. Rude hot men are also my kryptonite, especially when they're displeased with me. *swoons in dhak dhak & acidity*

Meanwhile, across town, lying on the floor of his Batcave, Arnav could think only one thing.
Where the fuck was he going to get a dog?
One of my favourite fics out there. This was so good. I'm still laughing at how accurate the characters are
The Darkest Knight - Part 3
WE’RE BACK!!! Thank you all for your votes and for your support while I’ve been AWOL in fic-writing! I hope this makes up for it somewhat and that both old and new readers alike find something to enjoy here!
Find the other parts here
Wrapping her arms tighter around herself as the chill of the night set in, Khushi took her keys from the valet and hurried into her car, hissing slightly when the cold leather came into contact with her skin.
She had really fucked up tonight, that much she was sure of. She couldn’t figure out where, but something had thrown her off and she’d been unable to recover for the remainder of the gala, barely cracking a smile when Rohit Mishra slipped on a spilt cocktail and fell into the fountain, something that would have made her shriek with laughter otherwise.
He was such an idiot. Arnav Singh Raizada - not Mishra.

The 13th Anniversary Arshi Fiesta
Moodboard : Historical AU
Whispers of the Heart | Chapter 10

I am not very good at writing ffs. I even read ffs very selectively. But it was an attempt of me to participate in the 13th-anniversary arshi fiesta.
I might be wrong about certain aspects of that age and era, but it's a fantasy, so why not? I don't own Arnav and Khushi and the story is purely fictional and has no relation to any living or dead. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental.

Chapter 10
Arnav found himself on the floor at the foot of his bed with his back pressed against the bedpost. The room was silent except for the rhythmic thud of the ball hitting the wall and the soft shuffle of it returning to his hand. For hours, he had been doing it. His arm muscles ached with fatigue, but he couldn't stop. The repetitive motion had a strangely intoxicating effect, a temporary escape from the chaos in his mind.
His thoughts were a whirlwind, racing through every possible scenarios of the future. His brain doing continuous permutations and combination and the outcomes swirling in a relentless loop. As a meticulous planner, He had always drawn comfort from the predictability of his well-laid plans. But now, His carefully constructed world had spiralled into a giant mess. He felt like he was drowning. Despite his best efforts, he was adrift in a sea of uncertainty, struggling to find his way back to solid ground.
" Arnav bhaiya, khirkiyan khol du, subha ho chuki hain."
Hariprakash's voice brought him back to reality. Hariprakash had been by his side for the last two years, taking care of him and the bungalow he rented. He glanced at himself and awareness sank in. His body was reeking. He hadn't bathed in what felt like decades. He had been sitting in the dark. Food and sleep had escaped him. The ship had already sailed, without him. That was two days ago. And there was no ship that could carry him hence.
After reading those lines, he had scooped her up in his arms, careful not to wake her. He had laid her down on the bed gently and sat beside her with his right hand on her hair. His thumb had kept tracing gentle circles on the side of her forehead. He couldn't tell how long he had sat there. He just did, watching her without any sense of propriety. When the house had begun to wake up, he couldn't stay there any longer. But he hadn't forgotten to leave his love on her forehead.
Those two lines had halted his departure, turning his legs into lead. He sat on those lines for the past two days, letting them take root within him and anchor him in place. Probably because he always knew but never dared to accept that they were true for him as well.
For so long, the waves of the ocean had been tumultuous, crashing against his shore, relentlessly battering and bruising his delicate shore. Now, the ocean longed for his waves to calm down, to meet his shore with gentle caresses.
She had always been his shore.
He remembered when she was a little girl, her hand clutching his tightly the first time they had taken the walk. He remembered the day she finally, finally accepted that her parents were gone forever, how he had carried her, heaving and sobbing, holding her close against him. He remembered happier days when she had babbled as she had tried to keep up with his pace. All the conversations they had about everything and anything. And how he could talk to her, even when she had been so young, easier than he could talk to anyone else. He had been her friend, protector, and confidant. He had been the most important person in her world. And, then He had let her believe she had lost that relationship, lost him, because he couldn't act on the love he had for her. He had always loved her. The definition might have changed with different stages of their life, but love had always been there, breathing, changing, evolving. And he would always love her the only way he knew how, with his whole heart, with every fibre of his being, with everything inside him.
Yet he had failed to be close to anything he had claimed to be for her—not a friend, not a protector and clearly not a lover. And he would be damned if he wouldn't go to the ends of the world to rectify the situation.
"What day is it, Hariprakash?"
" It's Monday, vaiya"
Monday. That's mean the court would open. He had to go to the court area to assess the situation. He had to get himself accustomed with the environment before he planned anything.
"Prepare breakfast for me."
Throughout the day, he was preoccupied with meetings and discussions with fellow barristers and various law firms, delving into job opportunities, ongoing cases, and important legal matters. As evening approached, the exhaustion from two consecutive sleepless nights caught up with him. He thought he was hallucinating when he saw her. More surprising was that he didn't know how he found himself outside her college. But, she was there, not just a figment of his imagination. She wasn't looking at him though. Her gaze seemed distant, fixed on nothing. There was shadow under her eyes where once star had gleamed. She was there like a whisper of her former self. But what truly terrified him was the absence of the bindi between her eyebrows. It was as if the very essence of her identity had been stripped away, leaving behind an unsettling void. That small dot, once a symbol of her vibrant spirit was now conspicuously missing. It was a haunting reminder, a silent scream of everything that had gone wrong.
And with that realization, another truth hit him. What people said was true; love can reduce anyone to anything. Never in his wildest dreams did Arnav think that a small, round object could bring him to his knees.
As night approached, he was back at the Rajput haveli, sitting on a familiar bench in the garden where the entire story had begun.
The summer when he was 12, he had been fascinated with the game that the Britishers had introduced. Cricket, they called it. He begged his father, before he went abroad, to buy him a cricket bat and ball, and his father complied. That afternoon, he was playing cricket with Aman and Akash bhai. When he came home, hungry, he searched for his mother and found her lifeless hanging in her room. He cursed himself for going out to play that afternoon.
But right after he found her, an intense shiver took over his body. Why? He didn't know. He just vaguely remembered Roma Chachi wrapping him in a blanket and rocking him back and forth. He wished he could shrink himself to that size again so that Roma Chachi could wrap him in a blanket and hold him tighter once again.
"I love her," he whispered, looking straight ahead. "I can't measure it, but I do love her more than I have ever loved anything else in my life. Do you think my love will be enough?"
In the midst of all the chaos in his life, Roma Chachi had always been the one person who understood him without needing a word. She allowed him to be himself. She had been a mother to him without the title since his mother had passed away. So when he opened up to her Monoroma instantly knew who he was talking about and chastised herself for her oversight. They were her children in every way that mattered, even though she hadn't given birth to them. How had she not seen it sooner? She felt like she had failed as their mother.
She caressed the top of his head. "Ghar, paisa, jaydad sab humari khushiyan ke liye hote hain. Hawaali nahi hai toh ban jayegi, khoa hua naam bhi waapas a jayega, lekin khushi chali gayi toh tum use waapas kaise laoge?"
They sat there in the dark for some time, Arnav drawing comfort and strength from her presence. His determination was solidified by her wise words. Eventually, the mother in her became worried. " tumne din bhar kuch khaya?"
Chuckling, Arnav stood up,''You should go inside. it's late. Chachu must be worried,'' he said as he started to leave but then turned suddenly. 'Please, don't tell Chachu anything. I want to talk to him myself."
But three days had passed without any words from Arnav. Monoroma was worried. What was the boy up to? She couldn't get a hold of Arnav, so she focused on Khushi. Her little 'titli' had wilted like a delicate flower deprived of water and sunlight. Sighing heavily, Monoroma approached her. Khushi was sitting at her desk, pretending to read. Without a word, Monoroma gently took Khushi's hand. The unexpected touch broke through Khushi's reverie, and she allowed herself to be led to the bed. Monoroma sat face to face with Khushi. She squeezed Khushi's hand gently, offering silent comfort and support.
"I want to talk to you about something"
Khushi's face was devoid of any emotions. ''Amma, I am ready. I'll marry whoever you ask me to.''
Khushi's expression shattered Monoroma's heart. She gently cupped her daughter's face and coaxed her to meet her gaze. When their eyes locked, Khushi's resolve crumbled. She collapsed into her Amma's lap and started crying silently. Monoroma moved to comfort her when a knock at the door interrupted them. Aman stood hesitantly in the doorway. Khushi quickly composed herself. Sitting up straight she wiped away her tears.
"Someone's here to meet you khushi"
A astonished khushi asked "Who?"
"Tum khud hi dekh lo."
Arnav stood in the garden with his hands casually tucked into his pockets. Khushi noticed with astonishment that he had dressed up. A charcoal grey coat draped over a crisp white shirt complemented by a striking blue tie that made his eyes stand out even more.
"You didn't leave"
Khushi whispered as she moved closer to him. She never thought she would see him again. These past five days, were a literal hell for Khushi. She tried so hard to hate him. But she ended up hating herself for understanding his reasoning. It would be so much easier if she could just outright hate him. Then moving on would be simpler. But against all reasoning, she just wanted him to fight for them. May be it was a little bit naive of her. But the heart wanted what the heart wanted. And her heart wanted him.
Tentative, so cautious, Arnav reached out, hooking one finger around one of hers and tugged her gently.
"I found a house in the city, just a short walk from St. Stephen's College," Arnav started nervously, gazing into her eyes. "Hariprakash,he is my caretaker. He and his wife, Gauri, they will manage the household. "
Arnav swallowed thickly and continued, "Umm..I had applied for jobs at a few law firms here in Delhi, and they have made some offers." His tone grew more confident. "I've also informed my mentor in London that I can no longer continue the apprenticeship." He finished as he gazed at her intensely, taking her hands in his. His thumbs drew circles on the back of her hand while she processed everything he said.
"Marry me, khushi"
Some promises were indeed incredible and dreams did come true, offering beautiful surprises when least expected. Still, Khushi couldn't help but double-check his words.
"What made you change your mind?" she murmured.
Arnav chuckled, looking down at their joined hands," You stopped wearing bindi."
"What?"
Shaking his head, Arnav tried again, "I would rather fight with my conscience than let my decision hurt you anymore." The corners of his eyes crinkled as the spark returned in Khushi's eyes, "And why live in a haveli that others have built when you can design your own?"
Khushi hadn't taken her eyes off him since he started talking. She kept searching, searching, and searching and slowly the corners of her lips lifted up. Without hesitation, she threw herself into his arms, shocking Arnav and also the other seven pairs of eyes that were watching them from different parts of the house. They averted their gaze and retreated inside, leaving Khushi and Arnav alone.
"Is that a 'yes'?" Arnav whispered in her ear as he engulfed her in his arms.
"Do I have to spell it out?" her voice muffled against the curve of his neck, her tears soaking his skin, seeping into his pores.
"No," he murmured, burying his nose in her hair. As her scent enveloped him, he felt the tension of the past few days dissolve from his body, bone by bone.
"Have you talked to Babuji? What did he say?"
"He said it's all up to you," his lips stretched into a grin as she tightened her hold even more. "We are being watched, by the way," he whispered, aware of their audience.
"What? Why didn't you tell me earlier?" Untangling herself from his embrace, she straightened up. She could already feel the warmth spreading across her cheeks.
"Would you have done that if I had told you?" He questioned her while cupping her face with both hands, gently wiping her tears away with his thumb.
"No," she was irritated yet a smile ghosted over her face.
"Then I'm glad I didn't tell you," he rumbled softly, words meant for her ears alone.
Khushi's cheeks flushed even more as she perceived the shifting dynamics between her and Arnav. With a happy yet accusing look, she dashed inside the house, leaving Arnav alone. Feeling the weight of someone's stare, Arnav looked up to find Mahindar Chachu watching him keenly. Awkwardness wash over him as he struggled to decide where to look under Chachu's penetrating scrutiny.
Mahindar was taken aback when Arnav asked to speak with him, accompanied by his two sons. Arnav seemed unusually nervous. He kept clenching and unclenching his fists. Finally, he cleared his throat and said, " I want to marry Khushi. " His words hung in the air which left Mahindar speechless.
Arnav kept talking, "I understand that my current status and situation may not be ideal for someone like her. But I am determined to work hard till I make myself worthy."
"You all have always believed in me, and I ask you to do so one last time. Let me have her as my wife. I promise I will do my best to keep her happy." He finished speaking, looking up at Mahindar with eyes that were eerily similar to those of his best friend's.
Mahindar didn't know what to say to him, so he left everything to depend on Khushi. From her reaction, it was clear she wanted it too. This left Mahindar even more baffled than before. It wasn't that he didn't like Arnav. He loved that boy and knew he had great potential. But allowing Arnav and Khushi to marry was a risk. It was a decision he had to make carefully. Otherwise what would he answer to her father in the afterlife?
His Khushi had always been full of life, aptly nicknamed 'Titli' by his wife for how she had brought colours into everyone's life with her presence. She had danced like a sunflower in the spring breeze and had spread joy and happiness wherever she had gone, true to her name. But a few years ago, her light had dimmed a little. His little sunflower had somehow withered. Mahindar suspected the pressures of growing up had taken their toll. Then, a few months ago, he was pleasantly surprised to see a glimmer of her former self return. It was around the time Dhruv entered her life. Mahinda thought it was because of him.
And, then, suddenly, all colours had faded from his little sunflower again a few days ago. He couldn't fathom the reason. But seeing the colours return instantly at Arnav's mere words, had soothed his worries to a great extent. Mahindar knew he had to take this risk for her happiness.
For the next few days, he kept a close eye on them and marvelled at the fact that his Khushi was back. All the colours had returned to her wings. He noticed something intriguing as well. He observed how incredibly attuned to each other they were. Khushi's eyes seemed to trace his every move and in return, his gaze always sought her out. Like a sunflower instinctively turning towards the sun and following it across the sky, her face would seek his presence and instantly light up whenever he was near. Mahindar sighed, he could now put his worries to rest.
His little sunflower had found her sun.
Finally.

Hello,PS. I was reading this Arshi FF named "Perfectly flawed". I didn't like the unnecessary villainization of Arnav, just to victimize Khushi. If you have read this story, then I want to know your opinion about this characterization of Arnav. But, it's okay if you don't want to give your opinion on someone else's work. No pressure.🙂
Hello! I've never read it! Sorry!

ArShi OS: Kyun Farak Padta Hai
Khushi waited by the terrace with bated breath. The fairy lights, the reds, the stage, the beauty in the darkness - it all had one name to it.
Arnav Singh Raizada
But since when was Arnav so expressive? Khushi chuckled at the thought of Arnav, in his three piece suit, fixing the stage up. And that's when one niggling thought crossed her mind.
Could Arnav really do this?
But they hadn't even shared a word of what they shared in between them. But today he wanted to.
The door swung upon and Khushi closed her eyes tight, wringing the corner of her dupatta.
Arnav did not know what was more endearing - the fact that Khushi decorated the whole terrace by herself, perhaps knowing what he wanted to say, or that she was standing in the middle of her own decorations where her eyes closed.
Bilkul pagaal hai
"And I thought I was uncomfortable with my feelings but you amaze me Khushi Kumari Gupta. You can barely watch what you're doing?"
Khushi colored at the familiar snark, she was about to reply but his face was so soft, the smile so mischievous, that she found herself shy again.
"Dekhiye-" She said.
"Dikhaaye,-" Arnav quipped, taking two confident steps towards her.
"Suniye-"
"Sunaiye-" Arnav stood by the stage, him and Khushi eye level at this point. Khushi bit back a smile.
"Hum yeh kehna chahte hai that I am not uncomfortable with my feelings unlike someone who smiles as frequently as the blue moon's appearance. I don't hide anything at all." Khushi, proud of her speech, looked away.
Arnav laughed. So much for her directness that she couldn't even meet his eyes?
"Please Khushi, you know you're good at hiding truths." Khushi was caught aback. The words hit closer than expected. Arnav had never been more earnest in life.
And Khushi had never been aware of just how much she cared for this man until now. The truth of Shyam Manohar Jha, one that felt like acid in her heart, must be revealed to this family.
But it would come at the cost of her and Arnav's... what were they? It wasn't a relationship. She was scared to call it love. It was nameless yet potent.
God, couldn't she be selfish for once?
"What happened?" Arnav frowned, brushing his fingers against her bangs. His bravado was wavering. Khushi had no idea that his entire being was resting on her acceptance of him. It was silly that someone could mean so much that despite all accomplishment their yes could be the most validating moment.
Was it ok to surrender so much to someone in love?
Khushi's eyes fluttered shut as he continued to play with her hair.
Yes
"Khushi, I want to tell you something." He stepped up the stage and Khushi, for once, did not step back.
"But before that, I must admit, all of this is very pretty." Arnav pointed to the decoration. Khushi frowned, was Arnav Singh Raizada such a Laad Governor to praise his own decorations?
Arnav Singh Raizada was unbelievable!
"What? No, you did-" Arnav clarified and they both realized that neither decorated the place.
Then just who did?
Di?
"Di-" "-Anjali ji-"
Arnav and Khushi burst into chuckles. To think they were setup by the ever sweet Anjali Jha! Khushi laughed till her stomach hurt and she clutched his shoulder, resting her head to calm down.
Here they were, unable to tell three words, while the whole world had caught onto their poorly kept secret.
Arnav held Khushi in his arms, and after a moment as their laughter subsided, he wrapped her in a gentle, tentative hug. Khushi looked up, her own hands locked around him, her cheeks flushed from laughing.
"Khushi, mujhe farak padta hai." Arnav confessed.
"From your smiles to your tears, har cheez se farak padta hai." He continued.
"Because-"
"-me too." Khushi confessed.
"Hum aapse, hum aapke bina..." No word could justify the extent of her confession.
"I love you." Arnav said, wiping the slight tear of joy from the corner of her eyes. Khushi gave him the biggest smile and squeezed him tight in a hug.
With a force that nearly toppled him over.

"You didn't say it back-" Arnav whispered as they tried to make an invisible, dignified entrance towards the living room where the marriage proceedings had begun.
"Read my mind for a change," Khushi whispered back, slapping his hand away from her waist.
"What the-"
"Not now! Everyone's watching." Khushi shushed him.
"So?" Arnav grabbed her hand, pleased at the sight of his gifted bangles chiming.
"Arnav ji, we're in the middle of a wedding. Our families are here. It will take them one second to place us in the mandap and get us married as well." Khushi reasoned.
Arnav stopped on the stairs, and for once marriage didn't frighten him. Khushi kept muttering something on the side - which he didn't quite pick up on.
"Don't tell me you're ready?" Khushi asked, her eyes as round as saucers.
Arnav shrugged.
"Pinch me."
"Gladly," Arnav chuckled and pinched her waist. Khushi shrieked and all heads turned to her side. And, miraculously, when she glared at him - Arnav Singh Raizada was found ten feet away checking out the quality of curtains Shantivan had.
"Woh, woh, JIJI I AM SO HAPPY YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED!" Khushi yelled and ran down the stairs, shooting him a quick wink before nearly toppling her sister off the mandap as well with a fierce hugs.
Anjali watched her brother gaze fondly at Khushi from on top of the stairs.
Finally!

Hello! I'm new to the Ipkknd fandom and just devoured your two oneshots.... They were amazing?!! Somehow I struggle to find Arshi ffs that capture both their characters as well as yours have. They're both exactly how I think they'd be, post show. Arnav here is sooo hot omg, cocky, domineering but completely focused on and in love with Khushi ❤️ Him think of 'strategic wins' is so Arnav-coded, little things like that in fics is what elevates them from good to unforgettable! And Khushi is so overwhelmed by him but still trusts him 100% , like in the show where her "aap sambhal lenge" shows how much trust she has in him, esp after their remarriage. I finished the show months ago but reading ur os is making me want to re-watch it already. I loved it sm!
Thanks for the part two, dear author... Wouldn't mind part 3, 4, 5.... ♾️❤️
PS: this scenario popped in my head while writing this comment.... Imagine a few days after this , they're having their "main jo karunga, kya tum woh kar paogi?" And Khushi replying mischievously with "haan, aap ne hi toh sikhaya humein" 😶🌫️ which makes Arnav go all 😳
THANK YOU!!! this means SO much to me given it's literally my first official work, you literally made my day boss babes <3 you have me giggling and kicking my feet.
i'm so so glad i was able to convey the characters truthfully, i was literally spiralling to make sure khushi and arnav were khushi and arnav-ing. YEAH you alr know he was like okay 1 task accomplished, what's next on my list w khushi.
i was planning to only have this be 2 parts but i may not now! thank you for showing guidance love!! maybe this will turn into a series? who knows?
I LOVE THAT OML, there's so much i can do w this prompt!!!! lemme cook up something for you with this, i love your brain 🫶.
#arnav's hotness is genuinely timeless i fear#arnav the dom pulling through#arnav and khushi#i love showing their relationship actually develop honestly#ipkknd#arnav singh raizada#smut? maybe#ipkknd ff#one shot
