Best NGO Donations in India
In a world where poverty and inequality continue to affect millions, every little bit of help can make a massive difference. Contributing to NGOs is one of the most impactful ways to support those in need. Your donations can provide food for the hungry, healthcare for the sick, education for children, protect the environment, and uplift women. Here's how you can make your donations count by supporting these key areas.
1. Donate Food: Helping Fight Hunger
Hunger is a major issue across India, with countless families struggling to get even one proper meal a day. One of the easiest and most effective ways to help is by donating food through NGOs that focus on feeding the poor. By donating food, you're not only filling someone's stomach but also giving them the strength to face another day.
Supporting a charity trust that focuses on food distribution ensures that your contributions reach those who need it most. Whether it's daily meals for children or monthly ration kits for families, your donation can save lives and make a big difference.
2. Healthcare: Giving the Gift of Good Health
Access to proper healthcare is a dream for many people in rural areas and underprivileged communities. Medical treatments, vaccinations, maternal care, and basic healthcare are essential but often out of reach for many. NGOs working in the healthcare sector step in to fill this gap, providing free medical camps, mobile health units, and preventive care.
When you donate to healthcare causes, your money can help provide life-saving treatments to those who can’t afford them. And the best part? These contributions often qualify as tax-exempt donations, meaning you can support a great cause while benefiting from donation tax deductions.
3. Education: Empowering the Next Generation
Education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Unfortunately, many children, especially in rural areas, don't have access to proper schooling. By donating to NGOs focused on education, you’re not just giving a child a chance at a better future—you’re changing their entire life.
Whether it's by sponsoring school supplies, funding scholarships, or supporting educational infrastructure, your donation helps shape the next generation of leaders. And remember, donations for educational causes are often eligible for tax deductions, giving you even more reason to give.
4. Environment: Protecting Our Planet for Tomorrow
The environment is another area where NGOs are doing incredible work. From tree planting initiatives to campaigns against pollution and deforestation, there are so many ways you can contribute to keeping our planet healthy. NGOs that work on environmental conservation also help educate communities about sustainability, teaching them to protect natural resources.
When you donate to these causes, you’re not just protecting the environment for today—you’re safeguarding it for future generations. Every little bit helps in the fight against climate change and environmental degradation.
5. Women Empowerment: Creating Stronger Communities
Empowering women is crucial for building stronger, more resilient communities. NGOs focused on women empowerment work to provide education, job training, healthcare, and protection against gender-based violence. By supporting these NGOs, you help women gain the confidence and skills they need to lead independent, successful lives.
Whether you donate funds, donate clothes, or volunteer your time, your contribution can uplift women and transform entire communities. Supporting women empowerment leads to better outcomes for families, and ultimately, for society as a whole.
6. Tax-Exempt Donations: Make Your Contribution Count
One of the best parts about donating to registered NGOs in India is that your contributions are eligible for tax benefits under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act. This means your donations can qualify for a donation tax deduction, reducing your taxable income while helping others. Whether you donate towards food, healthcare, education, or women empowerment, your generosity is rewarded both morally and financially.
Why Choose the Shrimati Anitadevi Foundation?
At the Shrimati Anitadevi Foundation, we are dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of underprivileged communities. From providing food and healthcare to empowering women and promoting education, our mission is to uplift those who need it most. By donating to our foundation, you can be sure that your contributions will be used to create lasting change.
How You Can Help
Your donations—whether large or small—can make an enormous impact. You can donate food, support healthcare initiatives, fund education for children, or contribute to women empowerment programs. No matter where your passion lies, there is a cause that needs your support.
If you're looking to make a meaningful contribution, consider donating to organizations like the Shrimati Anitadevi Foundation. Not only will you be helping to improve the lives of those in need, but you will also benefit from tax-exempt donations. It's a win-win situation—help others and make your contribution count towards tax savings.
Donating to causes like these isn’t just charity—it’s an investment in a better future for everyone. Whether it's ensuring a child gets their next meal, providing medical care to a sick family member, or empowering women to lead better lives, your donations can be the spark of hope and change. Start today, and be a part of the solution.

Charity - A Wonderful Way To Support Children's Development in India
So, if you are looking for a way to make a difference in the world, consider donating to the SOS Children's Villages of India and help support the development of underprivileged children in India.
Poverty is multidimensional. It extends beyond money incomes to education, health care, political participation and advancement of one's own culture and social organisation.
Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee
According to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), there are approximately 1 billion children around the world who can be considered underprivileged. In India alone, millions of children live in poverty and do not have access to basic necessities such as food, shelter, and education.
As a result, underprivileged children are often left behind in terms of personal and social development, which can lead to a cycle of poverty that extends into adulthood. This is why it is important to support underprivileged children.
There are multiple charities in India, working for the upliftment and well-being of underprivileged children. You can donate to any one of these charitable organisations in India to support the rehabilitation and development of children.
Education for All-round Development of Underprivileged Children
One of the key ways to support underprivileged children's development is through education.
Education has been shown to have a positive impact on a child's future, as it helps to break the cycle of poverty and provides them with the skills and knowledge necessary to lead a successful and fulfilling life. When children receive an education, they are equipped with the tools to think critically, make informed decisions, and contribute to society in meaningful ways.
Poverty can adversely impact the well-being and brain development of children. Children and youth growing up in poverty typically lack proper health care and nutrition, which can affect their cognitive and emotional development.
Education, however, can help to mitigate the negative effects of poverty on a child's development. By donating to education charities in India that provide access to quality education for all children, you can help to give them the best possible chance to succeed in life.
Donate to Support the Development of Underprivileged Children
The SOS Children's Villages of India is a charitable organisation in India that aims to support underprivileged children in India through education and other vital services.
As one of the leading education charities, we provide a range of programs and services to help children in need, including education, health care, nutrition, and housing. By supporting us, you can help to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged children in India and provide them with the tools and resources they need to succeed.
Here is how you can donate to help us support underprivileged children:
1. Donate ₹990 to sponsor a child for a month
2. Donate ₹11,880 to sponsor a child for a year
3. Donate ₹2,350 to sponsor a child and their education for a month
4. Donate ₹28,200 to sponsor a child and their education for a year
Supporting underprivileged children through education is a wonderful way to make a difference in their lives. By providing them with access to quality education, we can help to break the cycle of poverty and give them the best possible chance to succeed in life.

Is Ngo Donation Tax Free?
To encourage people to donate for good causes, the Income Tax Department allows one to claim tax exemption for donation under Section 80G, on the amount donated to charities and NGOs. However, donations to NGOs are not fully exempt. Donations to the best NGO, World Vision India, will help you claim 50% tax rebate. Send a child back to school and get a tax exemption under 80G tax deduction.
Twenty-year-old, former sponsored child Sneha is a first-generation college graduate who lives with her parents, two brothers, and grandfather in a rented house in Mumbai. Her father, Umashankar, is the breadwinner of the family and has a small business repairing telephones and cameras, and her mother Sangeeta is a homemaker. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology in 2021, Sneha has recently joined the workforce in a reputed software company. By taking up a career in STEM, which is traditionally male-dominated, Sneha is breaking several barriers that girls in her hometown of Uttar Pradesh can only dream of; including pushing off marriage until she can stand on her own feet. By partnering with the best NGO, you not only send children back to school, but also save tax through 80G tax deduction.

What is the difference between Charity & Philanthropy?
https://childhelpfoundation.in/blog/assets/images/posts/philanthropy-31-01.jpg
The major difference between charity and philanthropy is that charity is more perceived as being an emotional, immediate response whereas philanthropy is more strategic and built on rebuilding. On a similar note, Charity aims at relieving the pain of a particular social problem whereas Philanthropy focuses on addressing the root causes of the problem.
An excellent example of charity would be the distribution of painkillers to malaria-affected patients. On the other hand, in the same scenario, a philanthropic organization would sponsor the education of the people in the affected areas and support medical research teams in finding a cure for malaria. Charity is giving, whereas Philanthropy is acting and changing a system for a better world.
The best way to describe the difference between charity and philanthropy is by using a very common phrase, "Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime".
Here is a list of the top five Charitable Trusts in India:
Child Help Foundation (CHF): Child Help Foundation (CHF) is a pan-India non-profit, non-governmental organization, that is registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950, in the year 2010. They are a child-centric organization that works holistically to cater to the development of all the factors that directly or indirectly affect children. They work in alignment with the adopte Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. It functions for us as a roadmap to bring effective change in society. Emergency Medical Support, Swastha se Shiksha Tak, Mini Science Center Projects, Baby Feeding Centers, Roti Ghar Program, Village Development Program, and Humanitarian Relief are among the most effective initiatives that we have implemented.
Child Rights and You (CRY): Recognized as India’s most trusted NGO, Child Rights and You (CRY) works tirelessly to ensure happier and healthier childhoods for India’s underprivileged children. CRY addresses children’s critical needs of healthcare, nutrition, education, and protection from child labor and child marriage by working with parents, teachers, Anganwadi workers, communities, district and state-level governments, and the children. In the last 42 years, CRY has impacted the lives of over 3 million children across 19 states in India.
Smile Foundation: Smile Foundation is an NGO based in New Delhi, India. It was established in 2002 and was in 25 states across India. As of 2017, the Foundation reaches approximately 4 lakh children and their families. The Smile Foundation aims to provide free quality education to underprivileged, marginalized children. Their development program targets sectors like education, health, livelihood for women, etc. Some of their programs are Smile on Wheels, Mission Education, and Smile Twin e-learning.
Give India Foundation: Give India is a non-profit, non-governmental organization in India. It is an online donation platform and aims to provide channels and resources to trusted non-governmental organizations across India. As a web portal, it helps raise funds and contributions from individuals in India and worldwide and then distributes these donations to trusted NGOs.
SEEDS: The full form of SEEDS is the Sustainable Environment and Ecological Development Society. SEEDS is a 26-year-old organization that is active across India and Nepal. The goal of SEEDS is to protect the people exposed to disasters. Their dedicated team partners up with local and central governments, companies, and other nonprofits to reach out to families affected by earthquakes, floods, cyclones, climate emergencies, and pandemics. SEEDS specializes in disaster preparedness, disaster response, and rehabilitating homes and community infrastructure.
On a concluding note, Charitable Trusts or Philanthropic Institutions both work on the overall development of the society, region, and the overall country. We as a child-centric organization work holistically towards the betterment of all

Happy 84th Birthday Scottish actress Sheila Reid born December 21st 1937 in Glasgow.
Reid grew up in Bridge of Weir before her father’s army career took the family to India. She was then educated at Moreton Hall School a boarding independent school for girls, near the market town of Oswestry in Shropshire, in central England.
Best known for playing Madge Harvey in the ITV sitcom Benidorm. An original member of the Royal National Theatre in 1963, she played Bianca in the National’s 1965 film version of Othello, with Laurence Olivier in the title role.
Sheila has been acting on stage and screen now since the early 60’s, her appearances include, Z Cars, The Sweeney, The Bill, Dr Who, All Creatures Great and Small and of course Taggart. Other notable Scottish roles have been in Doctor Finlay, Monarch of the Glen and more up to date she was in Sea of Souls, Bob Servant and Case Histories.
It will always be her role as Madge Harvey that she will be best known for in Benidorm. She appeared as was one of the primary characters in the show, appearing in every episode of the series since its inception in 2007 until her departure in the second episode of series 7. Madge returned for a special guest appearance in the third episode of the eighth series. Madge is portrayed as a mean-spirited and acid-tongued pensioner, and is known for her chain-smoking and her trademark usage of a mobility scooter, despite being able-bodied.
Tice married, Sheila has no children of her own, but says she is a passionate supporter of Plan International UK, a charity that helps hundreds of thousands of children in 51 countries through public sponsorship. Over the past 35 years, she has sponsored two girls from Bolivia and two living in Ecuador. She has also sponsored a Brazilian boy, Fernando, as seen in the bottom pic, who lives with his family near Codo, a city in Maranhao, north-eastern of the country. She calls Fernando her Grandson.
“I fell in love with Fernando when I first saw his photograph and we have been writing to each other ever since,” she said in an interview in 2017, “ I really, really wanted to meet this gorgeous child and see how Plan International and my sponsorship helps him and his community. There was an instant and deeply personal connection when we met. I don’t have any children of my own – it’s not that I didn’t want them, it’s just that it never happened.
The remote state of Maranhao is the poorest in Brazil, with no public transport system and one hospital serving a city of 128,000 people.
Seventy-five per cent of families survive on £2 a day and have no sanitation. Many children suffer from malnutrition and there’s a high rate of infant mortality.
But Sheila saw how the charity is making a real difference by funding the development projects.

A Y & J Solicitors will match the total donation received and double YOUR contribution
India is home to 40% of the world’s illiterate. Children suffer the most. Without education, these underprivileged children are vulnerable and unlikely to ever rise above the poverty of previous generations. In India, multi-million children work as child labourers. It is an unacceptable truth that is both a cause and by-product of India’s continuing cycle of illiteracy.
Yash Dubal, Director of A Y and J Solicitors did a fundraiser to raise £—- through London Marathon and completed the marathon in 2017. This year, he is aiming to raise £2,500.00 for child illiteracy in India, through London Marathon 2020.
“I came to the UK in 2003 with only £1500. I founded A Y & J Solicitors on the principles of honesty, professionalism, reliability, helpfulness, and approachability.” said Yash, “The firm has reached its peak and it is now a Legal 500 law firm and won ‘Best Immigration Law Firm’ in 2018.”
If you wish to be a part of this noble cause and help Yash raise the fund for Pratham, please donate generously through uk.virginmoneygiving/YashDubal and A Y & J Solicitors will match the total donation received and double YOUR contribution.
About London Marathon
It all started in the pub, according to John Disley and the late Chris Brasher, co-founders of the London Marathon… The growing importance of the London Marathon as a fundraising event, helping hundreds of good causes, year after year.
An iconic image of the event is the thousands of runners traipsing the streets to raise money for charity, many in fancy dress, hoping to stand out as a rhino, football mascot, giant tree, or escaped convict.
More than three quarters of competitors now run for a good cause and a third of all entry places are offered by charitable organisations.
About Pratham UK
Established in 2003, Pratham UK is a volunteer-driven charity aimed at bringing about lasting change in India through education reform. Our events and activities engage the local South Asian diaspora and foster relationships with corporate and institutional partners.
