In India, charitable donations are eligible for tax exemption under section 80G of the Income Tax Act. Donations made to approved charitable organisations, NGOs, and certain government institutions are eligible for a deduction of either 50% or 100% of the amount donated, depending on the nature of the organisation and the specific provisions of section 80G. However, it is important to preserve any receipt, bill or certificate issued by the organisation at the time of filing returns. This can be easily claimed while making a tax exemption donation to a registered organisation. One simply needs to present their PAN Card number along with basic data to receive a “tax exemption certificate” which is a document accepted by the Income Tax Department. I love university.
I did a short presentation on the political culture of the First Aldmeri Dominion and it got me someone's thesis on people's willingness to communicate in multiplayer video games.
Is that what scholars are? A bunch of nerds with the power of academic language?

Ame Vampire AU: Background & Basic Info
Tumblr media
Ame was born into a poor family in Japan, sometime in the Edo period. Her father was a hard-working man that was rarely at home, and her mother was often overridden by her depression and the fact that she never wanted to give birth to Ame.
Needless to say, her situation ended up growing abusive, very much like in canon, her parents were pretty neglectful and from time to time, her mother beat Ame to let out her own frustrations. That's it, until a vampire woman killed her parents.
A famous Oiran from Yoshiwara (present-day Tokyo) with the name of Mitsu happened to be a vampire that fed and killed the poor, being easier targets due to people usually not having many familiar connections nor having people that would miss them if they were gone.
At that moment, Ame was both, lucky to be left alive, but also unfortunate to be picked by the vampire to be exploited.
Ame was pretty much raised among the Oiran as an apprentice for Mitsu, trained in the arts to become a courtesan of her own, and it was only once she managed to become one, that Mitsu turned Ame into a vampire at her 19 years of age, that way becoming her sire.
Ame was a survivor, but she hated the line of work, so more than once before she tried to run away with little success, with Mitsu finding her back all the time and bringing her back.
As time passed, Mitsu would take Ame with her to any party or celebration there was in the apparent secret vampire society, overseas as well, even if the girl hated them and would prefer to spend time on her own. Unfortunately, Mitsu would be killed by vampire hunters down the line, surprisingly protecting Ame so she could be the one to run away and survive.
Later in her life, Ame would meet a young vampire huntress that she would enslave and get attached to. Being so lonely, she developed feelings and a dependency of her, but it only ended with a heartbreak when another vampire of bigger power beat her and took away the only thing she had.
Fast-forward into the present, her fight with the higher vampire left Ame living more pathetically. She didn't care about going out, or hunting properly. She lost power from being badly fed and mainly preys on animals, and compared to other vampires, she doesn't have any special power like Remilia's fate manipulation or Neo's illusory powers.
More often than not, she simply lives as a shut-in that gets what she wants with the abuse of her vampire hypnotism.
-----
Her basic list of vampire powers include (if needed, more will be added in the future):
Turning into a bat, or a swarm of bats.
Turning into a black panther or a black cat.
Turning into mist.
Hypnotism.
Dream invasion.
Super strength and super speed, higher senses.
Basic pyrokinesis (lighting candles or small fires).
In her weakened condition, she usually can only turn into a bat herself, a black cat and mist. Can still use hypnotism but dream invasion becomes a hassle, and her strength and speed are lower (still higher than the average human, but still weak in comparison to a healthy vampire).
Obviously, she's weak to silver, it can kill her if she's stabbed with a silver weapon, and is allergic to touching silver-covered items. She also gets burnt by the sun, but it's never a sudden combustion, just a slow and painful way to get hurt and killed (if she was to stay under it for long enough). If damaged with these, it takes longer to recover.
Her bite injects a substance that relaxes the body of the victim and works as an aphrodisiac, that way making it feel good for the victim and wanting them to come back or get hooked. As as side-note for vampire bites, their bites aren't going to turn a human into a vampire- they have to consciously choose to inject another substance, some kind of 'poison' that infects people to become vampires too.
If her vampire blood is consumed by a human, the human gets a high from it, and is highly addicting. It's used to turn a human into a vampire thrall, and if consumed too much, the human becomes a ghoul.
It's also to note that Ame is infertile due to her undead nature. Vampires 'reproduce' by stealing children or babies to raise as their own, before also turning them into vampires for their families.

Reading: A Killer Habit
“I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book.” —Groucho Marx
And if the TV’s blasting some reality show with fake laughter and curated melodrama on full volume? You will find the reader shoving their earphones in and creating their own familiar white noise.
I recently read 5 Killer Habits: Be A Rebel and there was a whole chapter called “Live A Hundred Lives.” The title was based off of the well-known quote by George R.R. Martin, the author of the book series A Song of Ice and Fire, which was adapted into the popular show, The Game of Thrones.
Reading does let you live more than a single life. Reading is an introvert’s idea of adventure, from the comfort of their couch or bed.
The experience is multidimensional—reading can be the escape from the mundane reality, from the choking grip of stress, or it can be the fuel to a fire of an unformed thought. It can be the sigh of relief or the gasp of disbelief. The act of reading is nothing new, but it continues to be a defining source of knowledge and influence.
As someone who is a keen fiction reader, you may wonder what is there to learn from fiction. But guess what? Reading has a psychological effect on people. It offers cognitive stimulation, which in turn facilitates the development of critical thinking, problem-solving, pattern recognition, and, most of all, empathy.
And don’t forget, reading is political. George Orwell’s 1984 is closer to being reality than history once again. Propaganda can be easily pushed onto people if it is framed as a sympathetic cause, hiding the cruelties of their real intentions to brainwash people. What you consume is what you become—as a bottom line anyway.
That is why it is important to cultivate the habit of reading critically and to ask questions, which, ironically or otherwise, is again something that can be polished with reading vastly across different genres with an open mind. So that you become what you choose, not what you get influenced by.
A reader who comprehends critically is a reader who eliminates prejudice.
On an ending note, speaking of empathy, if you download 5 Killer Habits: Be A Rebel—which is a free e-book—you’d be contributing to a just cause; every time the book is downloaded, a girl child gets closer to her dream of going to a school. It’s a call for action towards a better world, with a few clicks. Will you choose to make a change?

Understanding the Impact of NGOs for Rural Development on this World NGO Day
Tumblr media
World NGO Day is celebrated annually on February 27th to recognise the efforts of non-government organisations (NGOs) in promoting social change, alleviating poverty, and improving the quality of life for people around the world. NGOs play a vital role in making a positive impact in the society.
Role of rural development NGOs
Rural development NGOs are organisations that work towards the economic and social improvement of rural communities. These organisations provide essential services such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure development in villages and remote areas. They work to empower communities by providing skills training, promoting sustainable agriculture practices, education, and the like.
This World NGO Day, choose to celebrate the efforts and recognize the contributions of rural development NGOs by associating with one of the impact-creating NGOs, i.e., Centre For Transforming India (CFTI).
Get to know CFTI
CFTI is a registered rural development NGO established in 2009. CFTI works to bring about a positive change in rural communities, focusing on improving their standard of living by implementing various rural development programmes such as:
●      Bicycles for girl students: CFTI provides bicycles to rural girl students to ease their commute to school and continue their education. So far, 14,623 bicycles have been distributed.
●      Education: CFTI supports education of rural children by giving scholarships, providing infrastructure support to revamp rural schools, computers, and academic kits.
●      Women empowerment: CFTI is working to empower women through various projects, including distributing cycles to rural girl students to improve education access, providing skill development courses and creating awareness on menstrual hygiene.
●      Skill development: In their effort to bring a sustainable change, CFTI provides several skills training to rural women and youth. Tailoring, candle-making, digital marketing and graphic design courses are some of their interventions.
●      Healthcare: CFTI supports healthcare needs of the rural people by providing financial support during emergencies, cancer treatment, and other health conditions.
●      Water conservation: CFTI is dedicated to water conservation and has undertaken a project in the coastal village Shenwai and plans to implement this successful project in over 100 villages in coastal Maharashtra.
Success stories
As a rural development NGO, CFTI has been working tirelessly to bring a positive change in the lives of rural communities. Here’s sharing two life-transforming NGO success stories:
●      Nikhat Hafiz Saiyyad is a student in her second year of a Bachelor of Commerce degree from a small village in Maharashtra called Shaikhache Gaon. When CFTI started their initiative to skill women through tailoring, Nikhat enrolled and successfully completed the program. She firmly believes that clothing is an essential requirement for all people.
Nikhat expresses her appreciation for the tailoring training provided by CFTI, saying it is unique compared to other training centres. While other institutes charge high fees of up to ₹30,000 for the same course, CFTI offers it at a low cost of ₹1,000 with a more comprehensive syllabus. Moreover, CFTI gives each successful trainee a free sewing machine.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, job opportunities were limited, but Nikhat is now a skilled tailor and can start her own business. This will allow her to support her family and finance her siblings' education.
The second success story highlights CFTI's bicycle distribution program for girl students.
●      CFTI primarily runs bicycle distribution programmes for female students in rural areas of Maharashtra to prevent them from dropping out of school due to transportation issues. During this effort, the organisation met a girl named Karuna from rural Maharashtra. Her father was incarcerated and she was living with her aunt, relying on her for funds to travel to school. The aunt was hesitant to provide the money, but Karuna was passionate about education. The lack of transportation was hindering her school attendance and grades. However, after receiving a bicycle from CFTI, her life changed and she was able to attend school regularly and see improvement in her grades. CFTI provides bicycles to thousands of similarly situated girls in need.
NGO success stories demonstrate the positive impact that non-profit organisations can have on communities in need. They inspire and motivate us to continue supporting and contributing to their causes.
Conclusion
As a leading rural development NGO, CFTI has been making a significant impact in rural areas of Maharashtra. On this World NGO Day, we encourage you to support CFTI's mission by making a donation, volunteering your time, partnering with the organisation, or organising a fundraiser. Your support can play a crucial role in bringing about sustainable change in rural communities and improving the quality of life for those living in these areas. Do your bit in making a difference today!

Marpu Foundation Impact: Transforming Corporate Responsibility into Opportunity.
Corporate responsibility is a strong tool for promoting social and environmental exchange, and it goes beyond a legal mandate. When an agency's long-term goals are consistent with its company duty, it may be changed into a possibility for innovation, engagement of employees, and community consideration. The Marpu Foundation serves as an example of this, transforming company social responsibility (CSR) into profitable endeavours that advantage both groups and organisations.
A Collaborative Approach to Responsibility
In sectors like healthcare, schooling, and environmental sustainability, the Marpu basis collaborates with agencies to address societal issues. While making an extended-lasting impact on the community, their innovative approach assists groups in reaching their CSR objectives.
How Marpu Turns CSR into Opportunities
1.  Employee Engagement
Marpu arranges volunteer packages in which corporate team of workers participants take part in fitness camps, talent-constructing guides, and tree planting. Further to support groups, those applications improve organisation culture and worker morale.
2.  Initiatives for Sustainability
Corporations work with Marpu on fundamental sustainability tasks such as easy water and reforestation initiatives. Those packages help agencies in achieving their environmental goals and positioning themselves as leaders in environmental focus.
3.  Community Development
Initiatives such as "The Marpu Holistic Empowerment Initiative"  aim to improve livelihoods, inspire ecological recovery, and close the gaps in healthcare and education. Organisations are critical in providing investment and guidance for these projects, which advantage society and stakeholders alike.
4.  Enhancing Brand Reputation
Via supporting Marpu, agencies improve their status as socially conscious corporations and draw in traders and clients who admire moral behaviour.
5.  Initiatives for Women's and Youth Empowerment
Marpu empowers girls and children through specialised training and education applications, giving employers a method of assisting personnel development and social equity.
6.  Eco-Friendly Supply Chain Development
Marpu works with corporations to create sustainable supply chains, guaranteeing that enterprise operations hold profitability even as they help the environment.
7.  Focus on Skill-Based Volunteering
Like popular volunteer work, Marpu offers ability-primarily based opportunities that allow business personnel to use their expertise (along with in marketing, finance, or era) to address nearby issues.
8.  Customizable CSR Program
To make sure that CSR projects have the best viable relevance and impact, the foundation customises its packages to shape the unique targets, sectors, or geographical regions of a corporation.
The Ripple Effect: Assessing Achievement
The method used by the Marpu basis ensures that commercial enterprise investments produce quantifiable social and monetary benefits. For instance:
• More than 12 million volunteers were enlisted for the duration of India, creating a tangible difference in groups in fields that include environmental maintenance, healthcare, and schooling.
• By operating collectively strategically, corporations had been able to accomplish their CSR goals and build their reputation as socially conscious companies.
Thus, The Marpu Foundation serves as evidence that corporate responsibility involves more than just giving again; it additionally entails generating possibilities for advancement. Marpu turns company social duty (CSR) right into an approach that advantages both businesses and groups by way of coordinating corporate targets with societal needs.
