I read your post about open enrollment for the ACA and was hoping you might expand on why you believe it would take years to dismantle. I've been terrified that with a Republican house/senate, Trump could just snap his fingers and make it go away within months of taking office. I'd love some reassurance that that's not possible.
Hiya, sure I can share some thoughts on the matter! First, it's very important to understand the ACA is a huuuuuuuuuuuuge system with subject matter experts in dozens of places throughout the process. I'm one of those SMEs, but I am at the end of the process where the revenue is generated, so my insight is limited on the public facing pieces.
What this means is that I am professionally embedded in the ACA in a position that exists purely to show what conditions people are treated for and then generate that data into what's called a "risk score". There's about 6 pages I could write on it, but the takeaway is that the ACA is
1) intricately interwoven with the federal government
2) increasingly profitable, sustainable, and growing (it is STILL a for-profit system if you can believe it)
3) wholeheartedly invested in by the largest insurance companies in the country LARGELY due to the fact that they finally learned the rules of how to make the ACA a thriving center of business
4) since the big issuers are arm+leg invested in the ACA, there is a lot of resistance politically and on an industry level to leave it behind (think of the lobbyists, politicians, corporations that will fight tooth and nail to protect their profit + investment)
The process to calculate a risk score takes roughly 2 years. There is an audit for the concurrent year and then a vigorous retro audit for the prev year - - this is a rolling cycle every year. Medicare has a similar process. These are RVP + RADV audits if you would like the jargon.
Eliminating the ACA abruptly is as internally laughable as us finishing the RADV audit ahead of schedule. If Trump were to blow the ACA into smithereens on day 1, he would be drowning in issuer complaints and an economic health sector that is essentially bleeding out. You cut off the RVP early? We have half of next RADV stuck in the gears now. You cut off the RADV early? No issuer will get their "risk adjusted" payments for services rendered in the prev benefit year (to an extent, again very complex multi-process system).
The ACA is GREAT for the public and should be defended on that basis alone. However, the inner capitalistic nature of the ACA is a powerful armor that has conservatives + liberals defending it on a basis of capital + market growth. It's not sexy, but it makes too much money consistently for the system to be easily dismantled.
Or at least that's what I can tell you from the money center of the ACA. they don't bring us up in political conversation because we are confusing to seasoned professionals, boring to industry outsiders, and consistently we are anathema to the anti-ACA talking points.
I am already preparing for next year's RVP for this window of open enrollment. That RVP process will feed into the RADV in 2026. In 2025, we begin the RADV for 2024. If nothing else, the slow fucking gears of CMS will keep the ACA alive until we finish our work at the end of the process. I highly doubt that will be the only reason the ACA is safeguarded, but it is a powerful type of support to pair with people protecting the ACA for other reasons.
I work every day to show, defend, and educate on how many diagnoses are managed thru my company's ACA plans. My specialty is cancer and I see a lot of it. The revenue drive comes from the Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) rule stating only 20% MAX of profit may go to the issuer + the 80% at a minimum must go back to the customer or be invested in expanding benefits. The more people on the plan using it, the higher that 20% becomes for the issuer and the more impactful that 80% becomes for the next year of benefit growth. It is remarkably profitable once issuers stop seeking out "healthy populations". The ACA is a functional method for issuers to tap into a stable customer base (sick/chronic ill customers) that turns a profit, grows, and builds strong consumer bases in each state.
The industry can never walk away from this overnight - - this is the preferred investment for many big players. Changing the direction of those businesses will be a monumental effort that takes years (at least 2 with the audits). In the meantime, you still have benefits, you still have care, and you still have reason to sign up. Let us deal with the bureaucracy bullshit, go get your care and know you have benefits thru 2025 and we will be working to keep it that way for 2026 and forward. This is a wing of the federal government, it is not a jenga tower like Trump wishes.

May I request a San and Mingi x reader fic? Maybe as a Mafia AU where the reader (fem) is from the enemy family and she’s there to discuss business with them. Something ensues, tension builds.
A smutty one if possible lol. Go wild. Love ur fics and would love to be mutuals!
got some nerve. San , Mingi x Female!reader [MAFIA AU]
Including: Choi San and song mingi
Warnings: Mafia AU, threesome, double penetration, oral (m receiving), like one ass slap, name calling (slut, angel), floor sex basically, spit (MINGI DOES IT LIKE ONCE), This is long and dirty so 😍
Authors note: sorry Anon this took awhile to write!! And yes ofc let's be moots 😽😽🤭 guys I think I enjoy this 🫨 but it's also very long :(

The room smelled like burnt cigars and sandalwood cologne, thick with a silence neither of you cared to break.
You sat, legs crossed at the knee, eyes flickering between the two men at the other end of the table. Mingi leaned back, shoulder brushing San’s as he toyed with a toothpick between his lips, expression unreadable behind the dim glow of low light. San, on the other hand, was all sharp lines and smirking eyes, elbows on the table like he owned the space. Like you were already his, in some twisted way.
"You’ve got some nerve showing up alone," San said first, voice smooth but edged like a blade. "Pretty little thing from that family thinking she can waltz into our territory with demands."
You smiled. Not sweetly. Not apologetically.
"Correction," you said, fingers tapping slowly against your glass of untouched whiskey. "I came with an offer. You want to talk nerves, let’s talk about how you two didn't bring backup either."
Mingi chuckled, low and lazy. "Didn’t think we’d need any. Not for you."
"That confidence is going to get someone killed one day," you murmured.
San tilted his head. "Is that a threat?"
"Not yet."
The silence crackled between the three of you like thunder waiting to break.
San leaned forward now, gaze fixed on yours like he was trying to peel layers back with his stare alone. "You think we’re stupid? Coming in here talking truce like it doesn’t reek of setup?"
You met his gaze evenly. "I think you're smart enough to know that sometimes the enemy of your enemy is worth keeping alive."
Mingi’s eyes narrowed, finally discarding the toothpick. "You mean Jang’s crew. You want us to believe you'd rather help us than see your own family win?"
"Let’s just say…" you said, finally picking up the glass and sipping slow, "I believe in personal survival more than loyalty. And your rivals don’t discriminate when they put a bullet between someone's eyes. Family name or not."
They didn’t say anything. Not for a moment.
Then San’s tongue clicked behind his teeth. "I don’t trust you."
"You shouldn’t."
"But I want to hear more."
Mingi nodded. “You’ve got five minutes, angel.”
You set the glass down with a soft clink, the whiskey untouched again.
"Jang’s expanding. Fast. Too fast," you said, voice even, laced with something just beneath the surface — a dare, maybe. "And he’s not doing it clean. Half of his new muscle is ex-military. The other half? Trigger-happy kids with something to prove. You think this territory of yours is safe?"
San leaned back slowly, tongue pressing into the inside of his cheek. "We can handle Jang."
You nodded once. "Maybe. But how many casualties are you willing to stomach first?"
Mingi crossed his arms over his broad chest, eyes still fixed on you, watching every breath, every flicker of expression. "Why do you care? If he takes us out, that just clears the board for your people."
"My people," you scoffed under your breath, lips twisting. "Would gut me the moment it benefits them. I’m not here to make friends. I’m here to survive. That’s the difference between me and them."
San’s eyes didn’t leave yours, but there was a new glint in them now. Curiosity. Maybe even respect. "And what’s your plan, little traitor?"
You raised an eyebrow. "Information. Routes. Names. I give you access to what Jang’s trying to hide. You hit them before they move. In exchange, I walk when this is over. Clean. Untouched. No ghost on my back. No bullet in mine."
Mingi let out a low whistle. "That’s a lot of trust you're asking for. Dangerous thing to gamble in our world."
"And yet," you said, standing slowly, voice lowering just enough to tighten the room’s tension like a noose, "you haven’t told me to leave."
You stepped around the table now — not rushed, not fearful — until you were standing directly across from the two of them. San’s hand twitched once near the pistol at his waist. You smiled, slow and knowing.
"Am I close enough for you to shoot, San?" you asked. "Or is it that you just don’t want me to leave yet?"
His gaze was sharp. But he didn’t answer.
Mingi sat up straighter, jaw ticking. "You’re a pretty girl with blood on your hands. We’ve killed for less than the name you carry. And yet here you are."
"Here I am," you echoed.
For a long beat, no one moved. The city outside the window pulsed like a heartbeat, muffled by the glass and the weight of what hung in the air between you all.
Finally, San stood, slow and deliberate.
"Three days," he said. "If the intel checks out, we talk again. If it doesn’t—"
"I know," you cut in. "I’ll be the one in the body bag."
Mingi chuckled again, but there was no humor in it. "You really do have some nerve."
San’s stare hadn’t moved from you since the word “walk” left your lips.
But when you stepped closer, just within arm’s reach, his fingers curled around your chin without hesitation.
“Untouched, huh?” he murmured, tilting your face up. His thumb swept over your bottom lip like he was checking for a lie. “Bet that mouth’s told more stories than your eyes ever will.”
“Want me to tell you one?” you breathed, lashes low.
San’s smirk was sharp enough to cut. “No,” he said. “I want you to show me.”
Behind you, Mingi stood as well—slower, heavier, the sound of his chair scraping against the concrete floor echoing like a countdown.
Your breath hitched.
Two predators now circled.
San’s grip slid to your throat—not choking, just holding, commanding. “On your knees, angel,” he said, voice so low it barely qualified as sound.
You sank without protest.
“Good girl,” Mingi muttered behind you, dragging his palm across your cheek once, affectionate in a twisted way.
The clink of a belt unbuckling made your stomach flutter. San tugged his jeans down just enough for his cock to spring free—hard, flushed, already leaking. He tapped it twice against your lips.
“Open wide. Don’t make me ask again.”
You did.
He slid in slowly at first—almost gentle—but that mercy vanished the moment your tongue flattened against the underside of him.
San groaned, hand threading into your hair. “Fuck… just like that. Traitor’s mouth was made for this.”
Mingi crouched beside you, watching the way your cheeks hollowed as San thrust forward again, testing your limits.
“Sloppy little thing,” he muttered. “Drool’s already running down your chin.”
San chuckled, low and pleased. “You like being used, don’t you?”
You moaned around his cock, eyes fluttering shut.
“Keep them open,” he ordered, jaw tight. “Wanna see that look when you choke on it.”
He shoved deeper this time—faster—fucking your face like you weren’t someone who’d just bargained your way into a war.
You gagged once. Then twice.
And San only groaned louder. “God, that sound... makes me wanna ruin you right here.”
Mingi’s hand gripped your jaw, turning your head slightly even as San’s cock stayed buried in your throat. “Bet your cunt’s soaking, huh? Squeezing nothing but air.”
You couldn’t speak.
Didn’t need to.
Mingi’s fingers slid down your side, grazing over your ass as he murmured in your ear. “Don’t worry, pretty girl. I’ll fix that real soon.”
San pulled out with a wet pop, strings of spit connecting his tip to your lips. You gasped, swallowing air.
But you weren’t given long.
Mingi had already unzipped, dragging the thick length of his cock along your cheek before slapping it against your tongue.
“Let’s see if you can take both of us, angel,” he growled.
Mingi didn’t ease in the way San had. No warning. No gentle stroke. Just a firm grip on the back of your head and the heavy weight of his cock forcing past your lips, thick and hot and demanding.
“Keep your mouth open, sweetheart,” he muttered, voice gravelly. “Gonna fuck it the way you begged us to.”
San stood behind you now, watching—palms dragging slowly down the curve of your back to the swell of your ass, fingers digging into the flesh like he owned it.
And he did.
They both did.
Your throat protested as Mingi thrust deeper, one hand now fisted in your hair, the other guiding your jaw to take more. Drool spilled freely, strings of it falling to the floor, smearing across your chest as you choked and moaned around him.
“Fuck,” he hissed. “This mouth’s unreal. Wet little hole just begging to be ruined.”
Behind you, San dropped to one knee, his breath hot against your thighs.
“You hear her?” he said, voice thick with lust. “So wet I can smell it.”
Two fingers slid between your legs without warning, dragging through the mess dripping down your inner thighs.
Then—smack.
His palm landed hard on your ass. Once. Then again.
You whimpered, full of Mingi, unable to do anything but take it.
San laughed darkly. “She liked that.”
“Of course she did,” Mingi groaned. “Slut like this was made for it.”
Another slap.
San’s fingers returned, this time slipping between your folds, gathering the slick coating your cunt before bringing it to your puckered hole. He pressed, slow, teasing.
“You ever had both holes filled, angel?” he asked, dragging his tongue across the back of your thigh.
You gagged around Mingi’s cock as your body jerked, overwhelmed.
Mingi pulled out just long enough for you to breathe—and that’s when San struck.
Two fingers plunged into your pussy, curling immediately.
“Say it,” he growled in your ear. “Say you want both of us.”
“I—ah—fuck, yes—please,” you gasped, lips swollen, spit and cum slick on your chin. “Want both—please, San—please, Mingi—want it so bad—”
Mingi chuckled, mean and low. “Look at you. Begging to be split open. Your family's little traitor, getting face-fucked and dripping all over the floor like a whore.”
He slapped your face lightly, just enough to make you blink and gasp.
“Dirty little thing,” he spat. Literally. Onto your tongue. “Swallow it.”
You did.
And when you looked up at him, eyes wide, breath hitching—Mingi’s grin widened.
San was already unbuckling again, stroking his cock slow as he stood behind you, tip brushing the soaked seam of your cunt.
“This is gonna hurt, angel,” he murmured into your shoulder, aligning with no hesitation. “But you’re gonna take it. Because you said you wanted to walk away clean, right?”
He pushed in.
One thick inch after another, until your thighs trembled and your moans turned into desperate little sobs.
“Fuuuck—tight little pussy gripping me like she’s scared,” San hissed.
Your face fell forward against Mingi’s thigh as you tried to breathe, but the stretch, the pressure, the fullness—San was deep. So deep.
Then Mingi tapped your lips again.
“You’re not done, sweetheart,” he said, cock sliding along your cheek. “You’ve still got a mouth to fill.”
And just like that—you were trapped again.
Face full. Pussy full.
Used like they’d been planning it from the moment you walked in with your offer and your little whiskey glass.
San fucked you hard, steady. Deep strokes that made your legs shake.
Mingi held your face still, grunting as he used your throat like a toy.
You took it.
Like the good little traitor you were.
“You’re shaking,” San muttered against your shoulder, breath hot and full of mock sympathy. “Is it too much, baby?”
He didn’t slow down.
Not when his cock was buried to the hilt inside you, forcing needy cries from your mouth every time his hips slammed forward. Not even when Mingi shoved you down farther on his length, grip bruising at the sides of your face as you sputtered around him.
It was too much.
Your body didn’t know what to do—split open, gagging, crying, coming again and again. You were locked between them, wrecked, used, and still begging for more with every broken gasp.
“She’s squeezing me so fuckin’ tight,” San growled, digging his fingers into your hips to slam himself deeper. “Like her cunt doesn’t wanna let me go.”
Your vision blurred. Your knees nearly gave.
Mingi laughed, low and cruel. “She’s crying. Look.”
He tilted your chin up, angling your face toward the mirror on the wall.
And there she was.
You.
Mascara streaked. Mouth red and puffy. Drool and tears all over your face, tits bouncing from the force of San's thrusts behind you.
Mingi pushed back in, down your throat again without mercy.
“She looks pretty like this,” he said, voice a rasp. “Mouth wide. Eyes wet. Body full.”
You moaned helplessly. The pain had long since blended with pleasure. It was fire. Electricity. The kind of fucking you didn’t walk away from the same.
San’s hand came around your throat.
“You asked for this, didn’t you?” he murmured. “Came in with your smart little mouth and your cold eyes—thought you could play with fire. Thought you could handle us.”
He squeezed. Just a little. Enough to make your next moan catch in your throat.
“You can handle us though, can’t you?” Mingi muttered as he pulled out with a slick pop, stroking himself in your tears. “Gonna take both now, baby. We’re not done.”
You barely nodded. Couldn’t even speak. Your body already twitched with another orgasm you hadn’t even realized was coming.
Then you felt it—San's cock sliding out of your soaked cunt, slick and hot against your thigh… and then lower.
“No—no wait—” you gasped.
“Shhh, angel,” he whispered, lining up with your ass. “Just breathe.”
Mingi kissed your temple mockingly. “You wanted both holes, didn’t you? Said it so sweet with my cock down your throat. Time to make good on that little promise.”
The stretch was unreal. Burning.
Your whole body seized as San slowly, relentlessly pushed in—while Mingi slid back inside your raw, used pussy like he belonged there.
Full.
Overwhelmed. Impaled.
You moaned.
The mirror blurred again with fresh tears, your body convulsing with overstimulation and pain and white-hot need.
“Oh my god—fuckfuckfuck—”
“You’re taking it so well, baby,” Mingi groaned, bottoming out and grinding his hips forward. “So fucking deep.”
They moved in tandem now. A rhythm so punishing it left your thoughts in ruin.
Mingi fucking up into you while San split you open from behind.
“Can feel him,” Mingi growled, eyes dark and locked on your face. “Feel him inside through your pussy. You’re stuffed so full it’s crazy.”
You couldn’t hold it.
Your body locked up—spasmed—and then broke.
You came again, harder than ever, your whole form wracked with sobs as you squirted all over Mingi’s cock, soaking both of them, the floor, your thighs.
San groaned, filthy and breathless.
“Fuck— she just gushed all over me,” San groaned, hips stuttering. His voice was wrecked now, your walls clenched around them both. “She’s still fucking pulsing—god, I’m gonna—”
His voice broke off.
You felt it.
Hot. Sudden. Thick.
San’s hands dug into your hips as he buried himself to the hilt and came deep inside your ass with a ragged growl, body locked against yours, breath trembling as he painted your insides with thick heat.
“Fuck—fuck,” he breathed.
Mingi wasn’t far behind. He snarled something sharp in Korean you barely caught—tight little slut—before he was slamming in one last time, grinding his hips as his own release flooded you.
Two loads.
Deep inside.
One in your ass, one filling your pussy to the brim, so much it was already leaking out around their cocks, dripping down your thighs in messy streaks.
Your body gave out. Utterly limp. Muscles twitching in the aftermath.
They stayed there for a moment—San pressing his forehead to your back, Mingi brushing damp strands from your ruined face.
Then San pulled out with a low hiss.
“Goddamn,” he muttered.
Mingi followed, watching the mess leak from your pussy with a look of smug satisfaction.
“Full of us,” he murmured. “Just how we like it.”
You whimpered, still trembling as the overstimulation bled into exhaustion.
San stood and grabbed your chin, forcing your dazed gaze up toward him. “You still with us, sweetheart?”
You nodded weakly.
He chuckled. “Good. Because we’re not done talking.”
He helped you get up, not gently but not cruelly either. Mingi took the seat again, back to lazy posture and half-lidded eyes like he hadn’t just broken you open minutes ago.
San poured himself another drink. Lit a cigarette.
“Now,” he said, voice calm again, collected. “Jang’s main storage hub. You said you know the new route?”
You swallowed thickly, still panting. “Warehouse 39… by the docks. They rotate every five days. Next shift is tomorrow morning. 4 a.m.”
San nodded slowly. Mingi’s eyes sharpened.
“Names?” Mingi asked.
You gave them—three enforcers, one truck driver, a corrupt customs agent.
San blew out smoke toward the ceiling. “How’d you get this?”
“My brother’s burner phone,” you said, voice raw and barely audible. “He left it unlocked. Got sloppy.”
“And you just happened to be looking?”
“I was looking for anything that would keep me alive.”
Mingi smirked. “Smart girl.”
“Dangerous girl,” San corrected, eyes lingering on your wrecked body. “Traitor. Liar. But fuckable.”
You didn’t flinch.
“Still breathing, aren’t I?”
He laughed low. “Yeah. You are.”
Mingi stood and cracked his neck, eyes flicking toward San. “We move before sunrise. Hit the route before Jang even smells a rat.”
San looked back at you. “You’ll be in our custody ‘til it’s over. Insurance. Can’t have you slipping back to your side with a sweet little smile.”
You didn’t argue.
You couldn’t.
Not with your thighs still slick from cum and your body barely holding together.
You just stood there, eyes half-lidded. Waiting. Wanting.
They would use you again. Soon. You knew it.
But for now… business came first.

Things Biden and the Democrats did, this week #19
May 17-24 2024
President Biden wiped out the student loan debt of 160,000 more Americans. This debt cancellation of 7.7 billion dollars brings the total student loan debt relieved by the Biden Administration to $167 billion. The Administration has canceled student loan debt for 4.75 million Americans so far. The 160,000 borrowers forgiven this week owned an average of $35,000 each and are now debt free. The Administration announced plans last month to bring debt forgiveness to 30 million Americans with student loans coming this fall.
The Department of Justice announced it is suing Ticketmaster for being a monopoly. DoJ is suing Ticketmaster and its parent company Live Nation for monopolistic practices. Ticketmaster controls 70% of the live show ticket market leading to skyrocketing prices, hidden fees and last minute cancellation. The Justice Department is seeking to break up Live Nation and help bring competition back into the market. This is one of a number of monopoly law suits brought by the Biden administration against Apple in March and Amazon in September 2023.
The EPA announced $225 million in new funding to improve drinking and wastewater for tribal communities. The money will go to tribes in the mainland US as well as Alaska Native Villages. It'll help with testing for forever chemicals, and replacing of lead pipes as well as sustainability projects.
The EPA announced $300 million in grants to clean up former industrial sites. Known as "Brownfield" sites these former industrial sites are to be cleaned and redeveloped into community assets. The money will fund 200 projects across 178 communities. One such project will transform a former oil station in Philadelphia’s Kingsessing neighborhood, currently polluted with lead and other toxins into a waterfront bike trail.
The Department of Agriculture announced a historic expansion of its program to feed low income kids over the summer holidays. Since the 1960s the SUN Meals have served in person meals at schools and community centers during the summer holidays to low income children. This Year the Biden administration is rolling out SUN Bucks, a $120 per child grocery benefit. This benefit has been rejected by many Republican governors but in the states that will take part 21 million kids will benefit. Last year the Biden administration introduced SUN Meals To-Go, offering pick-up and delivery options expanding SUN's reach into rural communities. These expansions are part of the Biden administration's plan to end hunger and reduce diet-related disease by 2030.
Vice-President Harris builds on her work in Africa to announce a plan to give 80% of Africa internet access by 2030, up from just 40% today. This push builds off efforts Harris has spearheaded since her trip to Africa in 2023, including $7 billion in climate adaptation, resilience, and mitigation, and $1 billion to empower women. The public-private partnership between the African Development Bank Group and Mastercard plans to bring internet access to 3 million farmers in Kenya, Tanzania, and Nigeria, before expanding to Uganda, Ethiopia, and Ghana, and then the rest of the continent, bring internet to 100 million people and businesses over the next 10 years. This is together with the work of Partnership for Digital Access in Africa which is hoping to bring internet access to 80% of Africans by 2030, up from 40% now, and just 30% of women on the continent. The Vice-President also announced $1 billion for the Women in the Digital Economy Fund to assure women in Africa have meaningful access to the internet and its economic opportunities.
The Senate approved Seth Aframe to be a Judge on the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, it also approved Krissa Lanham, and Angela Martinez to district Judgeships in Arizona, as well as Dena Coggins to a district court seat in California. Bring the total number of judges appointed by President Biden to 201. Biden's Judges have been historically diverse. 64% of them are women and 62% of them are people of color. President Biden has appointed more black women to federal judgeships, more Hispanic judges and more Asian American judges and more LGBT judges than any other President, including Obama's full 8 years in office. President Biden has also focused on backgrounds appointing a record breaking number of former public defenders to judgeships, as well as labor and civil rights lawyers.

HUGE shoutout to the WORLDS most DOOMED mentor mentee duo ever to live. Just two extremely emotional, lonely, jealous, closed-off, insanely determined vigilantes against the world and also against each other routinely.

Imagine you are Batman, and you are immensely similar to this teen girl, and because it increases the emotional vulnerability that you can be comfortable with when she doesn’t know anything about you, or because it’s convenient to have a team member who is isolated and can be easily fired and completely cut out when she gets too close or hurts you or when you don’t need her anymore, or maybe just because you’re lonely and you just got hurt emotionally by the people who know you the best and you like the idea of getting the benefits of company without that vulnerability again, you don’t tell her your name and you don’t let her see your face.
Imagine your primary team is finally back, imagine Alfred has come home, imagine you aren’t alone anymore, so you ghost her Completley, cut her off until she tracks you down to demand an explanation, where you then fire her with the excuse of her ‘lacking the skills and talent’, and are fine to leave it at that forever. Imagine you think about it some more and it’s the anniversary of your son’s death and you feel comfortable enough admitting aloud that that must’ve been part of why you fired her. She was reckless and wanted to prove herself too much, and all that other stuff that got your son killed as Robin. Steph is just too like him, too wrong and too much to be a vigilante.
But then Robin has to quit, and he’s leaving you behind and he’s going to go away, so you, maybe half consciously come up with a plan, and when Stephanie Brown turns up in your Batcave with a homemade costume and a frenzied look in her eyes you solidify that plan, maybe still unconsciously. Imagine using the same excuse, the same exact phrasing, of Steph’s apparent lack of ‘skills and talent’ that you used to fire her, in order to justify hiring her as Robin.
Imagine pushing away that graveyard conversation, imagine ignoring the very same comparison that you drew. Imagine, for the very first time, having to keep the cowl on when it’s just you and Robin in the Batcave. Imagine the gnawing sense of wrongness. Imagine keeping it on anyway. Because if you took it off, she would have something. Because if you took it off, it would count. Because if you took it off, you’d have to look her in the eyes, and she could look into yours, and you don’t know if you could do that and also convince yourself what you’re doing to her is okay. If it’s just Batman, it’s fine. It’s manageable. It’s business.
You get that cozy, comfortable distance once again. You get to pretend you didn’t stand at your sons grave and told someone you didn’t want Steph to die like he did, and then turned around and gave her the same costume he died in the second it was more useful to you. And that unease grows and grows and grows. And that yawning uncomfortableness expands and expands. And eventually you can’t ignore how wrong it all is, how gross this all is, so you start looking, and you start hoping, and sure enough, she makes a mistake. And you immediately feel this Huge sense of relief. Thank god.
And you fire her and it feels legitimate enough and you get to walk away, justified and rational and reasonable and fair. You get to do it again, you get to wash your hands clean of it all, and you know then, it was the right choice to keep the mask on, because now you can change the lock to the side entrance you showed her and now you can tell the computer to stop accepting the password you gave her and now she is gone. Just out of your sight. Just gone.

Jupiter 🪐 Conjunct Planets
Jupiter Conjunct Ascendant
This is one of the most desirable astrological aspects anyone can have. You have a larger-than-life personality that others find extremely attractive. You easily make a good first impression on people because you are friendly and outgoing. Broadminded and enthusiastic, you have an eagerness for knowledge and travel. You come into contact with people who can help you socially, financially and professionally. About the only negative thing that can be said about this aspect is that there can be a tendency to self-indulgence and weight gain.
Jupiter Conjunct Sun
You have an essentially positive and optimistic outlook on life, coupled with a strong desire to improve your position in the world. You are motivated to expand your awareness and broaden your horizons, which you can do through travel and higher education. You are naturally enthusiastic, gregarious and generous towards others but can also be immoderate and wasteful or extravagant. You are inclined to overdo things, especially the good life, which can lead to weight gain and its associated problems.
Jupiter Conjunct Moon
You are naturally generous, open-minded and kind-hearted and often experience benefits in life with or through others. Your emotional honesty and good humor make you popular and appreciated by others. You are socially aware and always ready to help other people. You know how to enjoy yourself and are fond of sociable and pleasurable activities. Relations with women are usually positive and often personally advantageous. Your outlooks on life can fluctuate with your moods and you may experience religious and philosophical conflicts. You will probably travel and possibly live overseas.
Jupiter Conjunct Mercury
You are basically an optimist at heart and usually express a positive and confident outlook on life. You are able to exercise intelligent reasoning and are generally tolerant of other people's ideas and perspectives. In general, you are a good communicator and can express your ideas easily and lucidly. You are quite wise and understanding of things and others will frequently seek your counsel and advice. In your desire to broaden your knowledge, you will most likely travel, correspond with people in other countries and possibly study or have business arrangements overseas. You may be well read and erudite. Certainly, you appreciate the value and benefits of a sound education. You will most likely have success as a speaker or writer. A sense of humor, wit and a generous nature will gain you popularity with others. Negatively, you can be intellectually arrogant, preachy or inclined to magnify things to stress a point.
Jupiter Conjunct Mars
Live life to the max is your motto. You are ambitious for personal success and never back down from a challenge. In fact, the tougher something is the more determined you become. You usually manage to achieve whatever you set out to accomplish because quitting never enters your mind. You are a productive, energetic and resourceful person. If other factors in your chart support it, you have managerial and business abilities. At the very least, you are decisive and able to make decisions quickly. Also, you have a good sense of timing, especially when it comes to maximizing opportunities. Naturally competitive, you enjoy sports, adventurous games and physical exercise.
Jupiter Conjunct Venus
This is a very desirable aspect to have in a chart because it brings social and worldly benefits and facilitates successful relationships with others. Warm-hearted and sociable, you are popular with other people because of your readiness to give generously. You have a pleasant and affectionate nature, which people find attractive and appealing. Romantic encounters are generally positive and happy and artistic ability is evident. You know how to enjoy yourself; however, you can be prone to self-indulgence, sensuality or wastefulness. There can also be an inclination toward laziness.
Jupiter Conjunct Saturn
In general, your life alternates between periods of optimism and pessimism and periods of financial abundance and financial hardship. It can sometimes seem that everything good that happens to you comes at a cost. Your challenge is to find the middle path between enjoying life and keeping it real. Occasionally, you experience feelings of dissatisfaction with your lot in life; however this can serve as a motivation to improve your situation. All of your personal successes - academic, financial or emotional - are hard won and gained through industry, perseverance and self-discipline. You have a good head for business because you understand the cycles of expansion and consolidation. Your philosophical outlooks tend to be orthodox and conservative.
Jupiter Conjunct Uranus
You are highly independent and delight in your own originality and uniqueness. You are quite happy doing your own thing and don't concern yourself with other people's opinions. Your faith in your own abilities is usually strong and, regardless of what may be happening in your life, your trust in the future rarely flags. You have an eye for good opportunities, coupled with a keen intuition and an exceptional sense of timing. This can be a good luck aspect for receiving sudden windfalls; however try not to depend on this as a reliable source of income! You will almost certainly travel and have out-of-the-ordinary experiences when abroad.
Jupiter Conjunct Neptune
You are essentially an idealist who sometimes sees the world through rose-tinted glasses. As a result, you can perceive situations to be quite different from what they are in reality. You are selfless, compassionate and emotionally sensitive to the needs of others. Spiritual subjects may interest you and it is possible that you possess psychic ability. A talent for music and art is also likely. On a more mundane level, you may have an enthusiasm for taking risks, however, it is impossible to tell if your speculations will succeed or fail - so you need to take care.
Jupiter Conjunct Pluto
You have a strong desire to make your mark on the world and to accomplish something of significance. Your ambition and self-motivation are pronounced, and you will pursue your goals in life with passion and intensity. If other factors in your chart support it, this aspect can bring you power and leadership over others. At the very least, you will be known in your own group or community for organizing others and taking charge of situations. However, watch that you don't let power go to your head, because you will turn people against you, especially if they think they're being manipulated. Similarly, you can risk placing yourself in serious loss situations if you provoke those with greater authority than yourself.

Jupiter Transits Through the Houses
Jupiter expands and blesses the house it transits through. Be cautious of overindulgence in these areas though, since too much of a good thing can have negative consequences as well. As always, these observations are very general and for greater accuracy in interpretation, the full birth chart must be involved.
🩷Jupiter transiting the 1st house: Life just seems to flow smoothly and work out for you with little hassle. You might feel as if the universe is truly on your side during this time with blessings appearing as if from nowhere. People notice an aura of positivity and abundance surrounding you. You might even appear glowing physically. There's a strong drive and desire to live large and abundantly. You might experience many moments of feeling vibrationally high. I interpret this time as one where you fully blossom and grow into your individuality.
🩷Jupiter transiting the 2nd house: The most obvious interpretation of this transit is receiving a lot of luck with money. You can earn a lot more money as well as making more money than you ever have before. This can also be a time where you develop a stronger sense of self-worth and security. You can feel very comfortable in life. Also, with an increase in money can also come an increase in spending. Be careful not too spend too recklessly during this transit, especially on material comforts.
🩷Jupiter transiting the 3rd house: If you have siblings, this can be a time where you notice your siblings receiving a lot of blessings. This is also a great time to embrace learning new skills and trying new things. Speaking, writing, and communication specifically will be great skills to expand on and you can receive a lot of opportunities in these areas. You can feel especially positive while going on short trips and spending time in your community. A stronger desire to socialize and connect with people.
🩷Jupiter transiting the 4th house: Moving, expanding, and positivity within your home and family life is all prevalent here. A stronger desire to go inward and spend more time at home as well. You could receive blessings and opportunities from your family. You might just feel a stronger desire to renovate or redecorate your home. I've noticed that this is a time where perhaps your external world quiets down a bit, and a lot of your positivity comes from your inner world. You can discover a lot about yourself and what provides you true comfort and peace.
🩷Jupiter transiting the 5th house: This is a fantastic time for romance, love, and dating. Time and time again I've noticed so many people in my life benefit positively in their love life during this transit. A huge boost in creativity as well. There's a lot of joy and happiness during this period overall. You feel a boost in confidence and ability to take on new and exciting opportunities. There's also an emphasis on children during this transit. Perhaps you can have children or children can play a significant and positive role in your life. If you're interested in trying new hobbies, this is a great time to do it.
🩷Jupiter transiting the 6th house: Daily life and health become abundant in this period. You can have positive daily habits and a routine that is beneficial for your overall health and wellbeing. You can also start a new job that you enjoy. Perhaps you get along nicely with your coworkers, the pay is great, the working conditions are positive, etc. There's a strong possibility that you just feel less daily stress than usual during this time. Getting a new pet is also likely.
🩷Jupiter transiting the 7th house: Similar to the 5th house transit, this is a great time for love and romance, although this house is more symbolic of committed love and long term partnerships. This is a very common marriage transit. This is also a great time to start a new business venture or partnership if it's something you're interested in, as it's likely to be received well during this time. Other people become significant in some way. Life in general felt very busy, active, and social in my experience. Meeting new and important people in my life as well. 🩷Jupiter transiting the 8th house: A very transformative period. There's an increase in desire for deep growth and personal development. This is a transit where you end it as a brand new person. I have an 8th house stellium, so it's likely this transit affected me greater for this reason. If you're someone who shies away from the darker aspects of life or your shadow self, this is likely to be a rough period for you. Although, it's a blessing in disguise when you realize how important it was to allow yourself to go deep and shed away all that was holding you back from stepping into a better and more powerful version of yourself. It's also common to experience an increase in sexuality during this time. 🩷Jupiter transiting the 9th house: A very busy, busy time. I was moving and traveling constantly the year I experienced this transit. I also started university and began my interest in spirituality. I met many different unique people and expanded my knowledge in many subjects. You may notice yourself tackling life's obstacles with optimism and an open mind. Wherever you travel during this period can be a very spiritual and optimistic experience for you. I visited a new city during this time that I fell in love with and developed a strong connection to. Pursuing a more spiritual life is very common.
🩷Jupiter transiting the 10th house: This was an interesting transit for me. I began a job that I absolutely hated before eventually leaving soon after, just for a better opportunity to be waiting for me around the corner. I moved into my first apartment and life became more peaceful and aligned with what I wanted and needed. It made me realize that Jupiter can often bless these different areas of your life by first removing what isn't meant for you and allowing new and greater opportunities to enter your life afterwards. This was a time I really craved and valued freedom and abundance in my career and life overall. 🩷Jupiter transiting the 11th house: Similar to the 10th house transit, I left a lot of toxic people in my life, including a long-term friendship that hadn't been working out for years. I also abandoned previous dreams and developed new ones that felt more fitting to me. My dreams and desires were very strong during this time. This was more of a quiet period in my life where I was really building a vision for what I wanted my life to look and feel like. I experienced a lot of positivity through online communities and groups, specifically when it came to astrology and spirituality. Meeting new people, joining new social groups, and focusing on long-term goals are all likely to occur during this transit. 🩷Jupiter transiting the 12th house: Such an incredible and unique time. My dreams became very rich, vivid, and intuitive. I was quite isolated during this time, but the isolation was something I needed. My inner world became very abundant and dreamlike. Life just felt like a dream this entire time. Pay attention to your intuition and your subconscious strongly during this time, because it can reveal a lot. I began therapy as well and began to notice very positive changes in my life the more I took care of my mental health. I spent a lot of time working on myself and clearing out mental garbage, which I noticed benefiting me positively by the time my 1st house Jupiter transit started.

Who’s to Blame for Out-Of-Control Corporate Power?
One man is especially to blame for why corporate power is out of control. And I knew him! He was my professor, then my boss. His name… Robert Bork.
Robert Bork was a notorious conservative who believed the only legitimate purpose of antitrust — that is, anti-monopoly — law is to lower prices for consumers, no matter how big corporations get. His philosophy came to dominate the federal courts and conservative economics.
I met him in 1971, when I took his antitrust class at Yale Law School. He was a large, imposing man, with a red beard and a perpetual scowl. He seemed impatient and bored with me and my classmates, who included Bill Clinton and Hillary Rodham, as we challenged him repeatedly on his antitrust views.
We argued with Bork that ever-expanding corporations had too much power. Not only could they undercut rivals with lower prices and suppress wages, but they were using their spoils to influence our politics with campaign contributions. Wasn’t this cause for greater antitrust enforcement?
He had a retort for everything. Undercutting rival businesses with lower prices was a good thing because consumers like lower prices. Suppressing wages didn’t matter because employees are always free to find better jobs. He argued that courts could not possibly measure political power, so why should that matter?
Even in my mid-20s, I knew this was hogwash.
But Bork’s ideology began to spread. A few years after I took his class, he wrote a book called The Antitrust Paradox summarizing his ideas. The book heavily influenced Ronald Reagan and later helped form a basic tenet of Reaganomics — the bogus theory that says government should get out of the way and allow corporations to do as they please, including growing as big and powerful as they want.
Despite our law school sparring, Bork later gave me a job in the Department of Justice when he was solicitor general for Gerald Ford. Even though we didn’t agree on much, I enjoyed his wry sense of humor. I respected his intellect. Hell, I even came to like him.
Once President Reagan appointed Bork as an appeals court judge, his rulings further dismantled antitrust. And while his later Supreme Court nomination failed, his influence over the courts continued to grow.
Bork’s legacy is the enormous corporate power we see today, whether it’s Ticketmaster and Live Nation consolidating control over live performances, Kroger and Albertsons dominating the grocery market, or Amazon, Google, and Meta taking over the tech world.
It’s not just these high-profile companies either: in most industries, a handful of companies now control more of their markets than they did twenty years ago.
This corporate concentration costs the typical American household an estimated extra $5,000 per year. Companies have been able to jack up prices without losing customers to competitors because there is often no meaningful competition.
And huge corporations also have the power to suppress wages because workers have fewer employers from whom to get better jobs.
And how can we forget the massive flow of money these corporate giants are funneling into politics, rigging our democracy in their favor?
But the tide is beginning to turn under the Biden Administration. The Justice Department and Federal Trade Commission are fighting the monopolization of America in court, and proposing new merger guidelines to protect consumers, workers, and society.
It’s the implementation of the view that I and my law school classmates argued for back in the 1970s — one that sees corporate concentration as a problem that outweighs any theoretical benefits Bork claimed might exist.
Robert Bork would likely regard the Biden administration’s antitrust efforts with the same disdain he had for my arguments in his class all those years ago. But instead of a few outspoken law students, Bork’s philosophy is now being challenged by the full force of the federal government.
The public is waking up to the outsized power corporations wield over our economy and democracy. It’s about time.

"New York is marking the early achievement of its Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act statutory goal a year ahead of schedule, announcing that 6 gigawatts (GW) of distributed solar have been installed across the state, enough to power more than one million homes.
New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) president and CEO Doreen M. Harris broke the news onsite at a distributed solar project in New Scotland, NY today. The project, developed by New Leaf Energy and owned by Generate Capital, participates in the state’s Solar for All pilot program with utility partner National Grid, meaning its generation benefits low-income households. The site’s 5.7 MW solar array will generate 6.7 million kilowatt-hours of solar energy annually, powering about one thousand homes.
“New York State has provided a replicable model for others to deliver clean, low-cost renewable energy to more consumers,” asserted Harris. “Our public-private partnerships are the catalysts which have helped us to achieve our 6-GW goal well ahead of target, trailblazing New York’s path to an equitable energy transition.”
Governor Kathy Hochul says this achievement brings New York one step closer to a reliable, resilient, zero-emission grid. The Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act contains goals to generate 70% of the state’s electricity from renewable sources by 2030 and 100% zero-emission electricity by 2040.
“Distributed solar is at the heart of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, expanding the availability of renewable energy, and delivering substantial benefits for our health, our environment, and our economy,” Hochul added.
New York achieving its distributed solar goal of 6 GW has generated approximately $9.2 billion in private investment across the state, according to NYSERDA, creating more than 14,000 solar jobs from engineering to installation. Three years ago, Governor Hochul directed to expand the goal to 10 GW by 2030.
“While we’re incredibly proud of the work and partnerships that have led to this achievement, we’re more excited that it can be repeated and multiplied. With the State’s continued leadership, we’re confident we can get to 10 GW and beyond,” predicts New Leaf Energy director of policy and business development Sam Jasinsk.
The state says it has another 3.4 GW of distributed solar projects already in development, making a 10 GW goal quite feasible.
“Customers and consumers are asking for access to clean energy, and New York state is listening,” Generate Capital Investments managing director Peggy Flannery said. Generate Capital operates 69 projects and counting in New York.
In 2023, New York installed more community solar capacity than any other state. Last year was also the state’s most productive year ever for solar installations, with 885 MW of capacity installed.
In April, NYSERDA was selected to receive nearly $250 million from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Solar for All program to enhance New York State’s existing portfolio of solar deployment, technical assistance, and workforce development programs for the benefit of over 6.8 million residents that live in low-income households and disadvantaged communities. As part of the grant funding, the New York State Housing and Community Renewal, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, and New York City Housing Preservation and Development, will implement new programs that target specific barriers to solar deployment for this population."

- I think Bucky wants a simple life. Definitely appreciates the little things. I think he'd thrive in a 'regular' job - working weekdays, weekends off, probably something physical/manual. Maybe a small town, away from the city. The man needs a break.
- The most observant lover/partner. Because he's always kind of 'on guard', he notices everything. Can and will read you like a book.
- Would definitely use/benefit from therapy eventually. I know he didn't like it in TFATWS, but I think after those events, his eyes open a little. Learns the importance of communication and tries his best.
- Doesn't want children. Between the whole super soldier age thing and the trauma, I don't believe he's ever going to want kids. Marriage is definitely on the cards, though. He'd look handsome in a tux.
- He'd definitely benefit from a pet of some kind. I know he has Alpine in the comics, but I do think a dog would benefit him. Not a puppy, but a rescue. Something he can focus his attention on, it offers comfort, gets him out the house a couple of times a day.
- It'd take some time, but once he lets his guard down again, his love language is touch. Touches you all the damn time. His hand on your back, your hips, in your back pocket. Linking his fingers with yours whenever you're close enough. Fiddling with your hair. Kissing your temple, your cheek, the corner of your mouth whenever you give him the chance.
and now onto the sexy stuff...
- I have a firm belief that this man is filthy. Fucks like he's feral. Sweaty, dirty, we're-definitely-going-to-hell type sex.
- I think after he's worked through some of his trauma, he's using that metal arm. The temperature play? He's into it. He likes to watch you gasp. Shiver. Shake.
- He's a grabber. He's so strong, he's leaving bruises wherever he's got a hold of you. Hips, ass, wrists. He'll apologise, at first. Later, he won't.
- Likes his hair pulled. Hard. Likes to toe the line between pain and pleasure. He likes that edge. Likes it when you bite him. Loves when you scratch your nails down his skin.
- Thrives on intimacy. Loves to be skin to skin with you. Wants every part of himself to be plastered to every part of you. Presses your foreheads together, swallows your moans straight into his mouth. Puts his mouth next to your ear so you get a front row seat to the delicious sounds he makes.
in conclusion, he's perfect, your honour.
please feel free to send me any opinions on these!! agree, disagree, expand.. if you send me a thought (feel free to get dirty ;)) I'll always expand and maybe write a little for it... <3
