Do you know how long it takes to complete A WHOLE F*UCKING BUSINESS PLAN, WITH STATISTICS AND FORECASTS!!!??? Sydney is a major Girlboss and she deserves a Boss man!!!!! 😤😤😤

Carmy has so much potential to be that Boss man. He just needs to get it together in a healthy and steady way in season 3 AND COME GET HIS GIRL!!!! 😤👏🏾💞

Xavier: Renegade Angel #2: “Chief Beef Loco” | November 12, 2007 - 12:00AM | S01E02

Point of fact: I have never seen this episode until tonight. Despite owning the DVD, and despite having watched, I think, every other episode of the series, I have never actually seen this one except for a brief clip somebody posted once (the scene where the gang members are talking about their feelings) and a screengrab of the confederate flag at half mast. 

In this episode, Xavier helps out a dying mosquito, who repays him by laying its eggs inside of Xavier’s cranium. After that, he helps out a young boy who was beaten by the Los Locos, a scary Mexican gang whose insignia triggers a traumatic memory in Xavier’s over-active psyche. His shaman from childhood had died at the hands of some murderous scoundrels who carved the very same insignia into his chest. Actually, what really happens is that the shaman pointed and said “look over there!” and carved it himself and played dead to be rid of Xavier and send him on the wild goose chase he is currently on. 

Percy had his mascot costume smashed up by Los Locos and Xavier shows up to save the day with some helpful breathing exercises. He also helps Percy with a duplicitous ruse by using his own god-given form to pretend to be Percy in costume as the new sports mascot. He does such a good job jumping around (using poorly composited video of Mary Lou Retton, I’m assuming) that the other team forfeits and Xavier gains the respect of the Los Locos. 

On the inside, Xavier uses his wiles to further ingratiate himself into the gang and eventually take over. He fakes the murder of a pizza delivery guy, gets them to open up about their feelings, and convinces them to go straight. This creates problems by way of a botched drug deal running afoul of this episode's main boss fight: the shiny man. He is one shiny guy.

This one is fairly similar to the first episode. Similar jokes, similar absurdist plot. The show’s writing style makes it feel like it isn’t formulaic but it sorta is; most episodes begin with Xavier in the desert wandering into the episode’s plot. There’s usually a flashback involving young Xavier’s path to enlightenment. The main difference between this episode and the first is that there’s a little more screen time dedicated to Xavier’s past. Also, the insignia shown here actually appears throughout the series in different forms. Spot them all! They all mean nothing!

Great jokes: Xavier, masquerading as Percy, manages to win the heart of a special ed boy in the audience, who professes his body and soul to Percy/Xavier. When Xavier tells Percy that he now has a girlfriend, Percy lights up and asks: “really? Is he disabled??”. Also one line from one of the gang members really got me during group therapy: “Rape is not an excuse. It’s a reason. And tonight everything seems so reasonable”. Pretty rude, but he’s right.

Hello, AdultSwim2021heads. It’s me! the author of this blog! Wow, this is neat, but I need to get to the point:

It’s currently April 12, 2023. I am back-dating this post to the morning hours of April ?. That is so I can inform you from the future that I intended to weave “Tim & Eric Nite Live” in with the running order of this blog but forgot to edit them into my list of shows in their proper chronological order until it was too late and I’d whizzed by three weeks worth of shows. So, I’m adding this post retroactively JUST IN CASE there are any maniacs who are reading my blog from the beginning and they get to this part and want to read them in order of show air-date rather than written-on dates. You might lose some MAIL BAG continuity or stuff like that, but I am a fan of viewing orders, and lists of them.
