Idk why but a part of me thinks Victor would be like...one of the few if not the only engine able to escape being monster-ified. You'd expect him to be due to the fact that he'd be surrounded by them constantly as they still have machine parts in them that need to be repaired and maintained, but so far the humans have managed to keep the monster engines under control. Victor feels a mixture of things about the whole situation. On one hand his (metaphorical) heart aches for his poor friends having to go through so much pain, on the other, once the transformation is complete and they've adjusted...the affected engines almost seem to enjoy their new forms. He's heard Rebecca chatter on about how freeing it is to be able to go wherever she wants now that she isn't confined to the rails. Personally, Victor is fine with staying himself. He'd rather not be a monster, but he still loves all of his friends who are.

Duck was not so different, as he found him laying on a goods train with similar injuries. We speculated that this wasn’t from the disease or the troops, but rather something else. How lovely, more problems. Am I right?

But that wasn't what disturbed me. When we found Duck's body, despite the numerous, painful looking wounds all over his body...

His face was forever frozen with a smile

Why he was smiling? I have no clue.

We have no clue who or what put him in such a happy state even when he was standing in front of death itself.

But one thing’s for sure, we'll never know the reason why. Can’t really ask a dead body what his final moments were before his insides were ripped out of him now, can you?”

What would happen if the engines in your AU met the engines in the Young Iron AU?

Well...this has actually been a discussion before. I'm lucky enough to be friends with @tornadoyoungiron , and we've talked about what would happen if our AUs collided. So heres the main take aways from what would happen if Grand Theft Sodor met Young Iron.

A. All the YI engines (besides Flying Scotsman/City of Turo/ Sodor engines) are getting jumped by their GTS counterparts over their treatment of Tornado. Without question. YI Tornado was seen as a fake, a pretender. GTS Tornado is seen as the hope of preservation. People loving steam engines so much they brought a class back from extinction. Blue Peter specifically needs to hightail it as soon as possible.

B. YI Great Northen and GTS Great Northern would clash, possibly the worst of all. GTS Great Northern led the class, and the LNER when Gordon was sold to the NWR. YI Great Northern managed to turn both against himself. They would be utterly unrecognizable to each other.

C. GTS Tornado would take her YI counterpart on an adventure. Also pray for any YI engine that tried to treat her the same way as YI Tornado, because theyre about to reminded just how powerful the Peppercorns truly are.

D. Thomas/Cassandra (GTS) and Thomas (YI) would be keeping an eye on the Tornados from a distance, not ruining their fun, but in range in case any mainline engines try anything. Thomas/Cassandra is more serious and worn then their YI counterpart, but the two number ones would recongize each other.

E. The Great Westerns would be at war. The GTS GWR was the largest family in Britian, they would be appaled at the class sytem the YI GWR had. When they learned of the treatment of Lady of Legend? The Calley Twins will be helping the GTS Great Westerners apply war paint.

F. Perhaps most intersting collsion isn't of engines, but of dieties.

The Lady (GTS) and Lady (YI). Sisters, but both would believe the other is failing their universe.

Young Iron's Lady believes they should only intervene in divine matters, and so only intervenes when she has to, and even then she is more likely to act through the gold wardens so as not to affect the fabic of her world, as she is aware too much influence could unravel existance.

Grand Theft Sodor's Lady is going to save her children, end of story. She was put in place to protect them, and she will not fail. But there are consequences to her interventions. The veil wears thin, and monsters arise.

YI Lady things GTS Lady is reckless with her power. That she is risking her reality to save engines that are mortal in the first place. They will all return to them in the end anyway.

GTS Lady believes YI Lady is letting her children die needlessly out of fear, and that she is failing the very reason for her existance.

Both Young Iron and Myself agree that neither are fully right or wrong.

YI Lady has not caused even a fraction of the tears in reality that GTS lady has...but her children had nothing to believe in when their time came. Most engines don't even believe she exists. This is why engines in Young Iron tend towards looking out for themselves, its all they've ever had. It also means that when YI Lady actually needs to intervene...shes limited. She doesnt use her power, so shes not used to it.

GTS lady has saved more of her children. they believe in her, and are more likely to turn to each other for help...but monsters roam the lands. By the end of Steam the veil wore thin indeed, and beings like The Beast, The Creature, and Screech would continue to rise for decades after the fall of steam. She saved many of her children, but at a steep cost to the world.

YI Lady has less power...but doesnt really need it, and her world has only seen the hint of monsters.

GTS lady is at her full potetial...but needs all of it to keep the tears in reality at bay.

Now there are no plans for a crossover fic. We're both busy keeping up with our own AUs...but heres some ideas that have been thrown around just for fun.

A. Showdown of the Ladies-Caomhnóir is taken by Young Iron Lady, who wishes to confront her sister over her reckless use of her powers.

B. Harlequin- Young Iron Mallard (circa 64ish) gets thrown to the Uman and Din, where he meets Screech. Can she teach him to master his black smoke. Can he get back home, and will he want to?

The sweetest. And first narrow guage pairing. If you already know Elliott Scott you know this ship.

- the first time they met, the narrow guages, including Peter sam, were acting distrustful around diesels because of Gorodon. This made things tense between them. This is something they now joke about.

- they first got together a long time after they were infected, as both were too nervous to make the first move. Up until the both of them confessed at once.

- Elliot Scott calls Peter sam Sammy, and Peter Sam calls Elliott Scott Scotty.

- this is more about the human au, but before ps met es he thought no one would find him attractive. Meanwhile es thinks ps is the most genuinely attractive person/beast ever.

- the two like to explore the mountains and forests of the narrow guage line as dates.

Another ship I've already shown off. These two are a something that in my eyes was inevitable as soon as I had a bus oc.

- boba came to sodor as a private bus, so bertie assumed she would be snooty and rude, but of course she isn't. It was a simple, mutual crush after that

- boba likes watching bertie race others and listening to him talk. Bertie like giving Boba little gifts and snuggling up to her at night.

- since boba is mute, she doesn't really have any nicknames for bertie. But he calls her bobo and babe.

- bertie is very protective of Boba, especially when someone is demanding she speak. While Boba can defend herself, she is grateful for someone else to act as her voice.

- when Boba was pregnant with Brandon, before they knew mind, bertie wondered how hard it was to be pregnant, so inspired by a certain red rocket, impregnated himself. This lead to bernie.

The final official tug x engine paring (for now). Gordon is a character who has a lot of ships, but oc x cannon is something I can't resist.

- Gordon, despite his pride, is a doting and attentive partner. Stardust is reassuring, and one to tolerate his rants.

- their relationship began when stardust began to admire Gordon from afar. When they did get together, it took a while before anyone but stardusts siblings were aware.

- he doesn't use pet names, beyond caller her my star, she calls him shooting star and love.

- Gordon refuses to learn to swim. Even if many other engines, including the ones that are in relationships with the tugs, he won't learn. Stardust is the only one who is fully aware of Gordon's fear on the matter.

- they love gossiping and complaining about others. Gordon also enjoys making dust laugh, since she rarely does so around others.

Finally came up with my own monster engine design.

Of course I have to credit @steam-beasts for their awesome monster engines.

My steam monsters are herbivores, usually taking on a more horse or bovine features. Some will have long silky tails while others are cow like. They have hoof claws to help move across terrain and climb hills. The narrow gauges on Sodor have claws instead of the combo due to working in the mountains.

I'm still debating on either having the diesels being reptilian or mammal predators.

Coal, water, and oil are used to help the engines sweat and give them an energy boost.

Gordon is a half bred. This means one parent was one vehicle and the other was a different vehicle.

Half- breds can aquire a unique gene that can mutate them into the non inherited parent's vehicle. It's rare to happen.

In this monster engine au Gordon's mother was the RMS Olympic, father is unknown but definitely a steam locomotive.

For the ocean liners they often disregarded their baby if it wasn't born as a ship, thus the company they worked under would sell the pup. Olympic wanted to keep Gordon and tried to hide him along with Nomadic's help but it didn't work and he was taken and sold to Sit Nigel Gresley and later Sir Topham Hatt.

However, unbeknownst to the Fat Controller, that mutation gene is active in Gordon and is slowly changing him into an ocean liner. He's already experiencing some changes such as his tail looking like that of a whale, hair growing on his head, and his flat herbivore teeth falling out and being replaced with killer whale looking teeth.

My New Infection Au!

I’ll Explain what happens in this Au, but first I’m giving a big thank you too @steam-beasts and @panicky-pansexual for inspiring me for their infection Au to finally make my own infection Au, Thank you you two! Ok then, Let’s Start!

The Island of Sodor use to be a normal place with normal talking engines and it was a peaceful place, everyone was happy until one day everything change, a mysterious infection spread across the whole island turning Engine into Monstrous Beast killing everything in their path, even innocent people, The Hybrid Pack(My Ocs who are the main characters for this Au) have to find ways to survive this infection for 4 months to avoid getting attacked and use their survival skills to find survivors and help them fight off some infection(not kill though) will they survive? Let’s find out in this story!

There’s Molly and Murdoch, AND Arthur. Those three are still existing AND on the island, a lot of engines just rarely see them, except James who sometimes ditches work to see Molly. Actually, now that I’m talking about Molly…she’s a quite a self-depreciative engine in my au. Always cracking a bit of humour about how ugly she looks and the stuff she pulls, thinking she doesn’t deserve to pull passengers and prefers pulling dirty trucks. Her old railway was never good to her, which is kinda the reason why she’s got those issues. Other than that, she’s an introvert, but can be optimistic when she likes.

Murdoch is still the same engine he was before. When he became a beast, he was more of a curious animal. He’s often seen around the mainline, pulling goods or just wandering around, which gives train enthusiasts the perfect chance to get up close to him to either feed or pet him.

Arthur is still at the coastal village, aiming to keep his record clean of any mishaps. He often wanders around the village or goes for a little dip in the shallow pools. He mostly eats fish, and often has his crew complaining about it.

Mighty Mac is pretty much a catdog situation. No one knows if they have separate stomachs, not even them.

As for the legs, they don’t have any hind legs since they’re the same engine, sooo….they just have eight front legs.

Yes! The Culdee Fell engines can very much eat from both ends. They also have stubby little tails so they don’t block their back faces too.

Probably many of you will know him bc of Shed 17. But that doesn't mean the whole thing of Shed 17 happened here lol. It's just that i used him for my AU lol.

The thing is that, in the always floofs AAU, the girls were sended to Sodor with their dad when they started their training. So they usually joke with not remember him. This usually annoys him, but he says he only allows them bc they're his sisters.

But in the, Not always floofs AAU, Roly was just working in other railway before the loaves were built. Yeah. It was confusing when they met-

Monster Engines au Misty Island headcanons: The Misty Islands lads (Bash, Dash and Ferdinand) have monster bodies more akin to grizzly bears than wolves (unlike more of the engines on Sodor). As a result, they eat large fishes, coal, berries, sometimes smaller critters and of course, honey. They especially like Maple Meringues...courtesy of Y/N.

Speaking of Y/N, the lads enjoys their reputations as scary beasts and like to put on a show of fright when unlucky visitors comes by Misty Island. They are genuinely puzzled when Y/N is not spooked at all by them...Until Thomas comes out of his hiding place.

Edward is at first not very warm towards them. He finds them too rambuctious. But Y/N gets along with them well and loves to play with them.

Y/N invented a game with Bash and Dash: They will sing a song to the tune of the conga line song and after the first verses, Y/N gets to tell them what to sing next. For example:

Gordon is like most yard leaders turned monster: A very protective pack leader. When he'd first turned, long before the others had, he began taking on an odd habit of sleeping outside of the sheds. He became more and more defensive over the other engines, especially Henry. It was a sweet thing but also a habit that needed to be stopped or at the very least toned down seeing as Gordon was starting to threaten the other engines' drivers and firemen. While they can get themselves moving just fine without humans, they might run out of coal or water and have nobody to help them get those things. After the others had fallen to the same fate as Gordon, his protectiveness spiked up again. Especially when the diesels also began to share in being monsters. It got so bad that they had to do everything to ensure Gordon stayed far away from any diesel engines until they could get him to calm down. If they didn't keep Gordon away, he could hurt one of the diesels, and that wouldn't do anyone any good. Visitors aren't really a problem as long as he knows them. He was a bit uneasy around Hiro for the first few minutes, but after seeing Thomas eagerly jump to greet him and remembering Hiro was absolutely no threat, he calmed right down and behaved just like he always had.

The current running theory is that Gordon sees the yard as his. It's his territory and where he and his pack reside, and he doesn't take kindly to strangers of any species trying to get too close. He's not acting out because he wants to hurt anyone, but because he's trying to keep his family safe from harm. He's not aggressive, he's protective.

I’m having trouble coming up with ideas for what ifs that I can put to screen and would significantly change the story, but I am doing my best regardless. Also, you can suggest what ifs to me if you want. If you do, then please make sure it’s a scenario that would significantly change the story and would have enough story to warrant a full video. Rundown of the AU

So basically, how it all went down is that a woman had an interview with both captains for a job, and knowing the standards back then, they obviously said no. She essentially was super petty, and cast a curse over both fleets as a result. This curse ended up spreading like a virus, spreading to other fleets, and other regions. The curse allowed the tugs of both fleets to stay relatively the same in appearance, but with a few changes.

Biggest ones were turning them into biomechanical beings, being a mix of both skin, bone, and metal, but in a much better way than you think. Their frame acts as their skeletal structure, so technically made of metal or wood. Their teeth had changed slightly to adapt to a carnivorous diet rather than not being able to eat at all, combined with their heightened sense, they are a threat to be taken seriously.

Besides their sharp senses, new diet, and teeth, they have corrosive venom that is highly flammable. This in turn allows for them to kill prey with ease, and to spit fire for a short time. This is possible due to a small pouch in the skeletal structure in the bottom jaw called the spark pouch. The contents are a piece of flint and steel. When the tug attempts to spit fire, the pouch shifts, and relaxes, moving the steel and flint, creating a spark and igniting the venom. The already flaming venom ignites the upcoming venom, creating a continuous stream of fire.

Their anchors have changed into clawed hands of sorts, easily capable of crushing boulders, and slicing through steel with ease. These claw-like hands are razor sharp, and can easily kill a human if the tug isn’t careful. However, they can ever so gently hold a human in their claws without harming them, but this takes some practice.

The tow line is still essentially the same, able to still wrap around things, and allow the tug to pull whatever it is attached to, but it can move freely. The tow line sometimes acts similar to a cat’s tail, indicating the mood of a tug without the need to look at their facial expressions, which comes in handy when dealing with a tug like Zebedee.

One by one the tugs started to change, and the two captains set out to try and reverse it. However, that is highly unrealistic in my standards since you can’t reverse or take back what you say, but you can go back and change it and try to make things better. Which is why the curse was unable to be reversed, and was altered instead, allowing special people to create a unique bond with a tug. These people are called Riders.

Riders work together to help protect the port from potential threats, usually working alongside the Coast Guard, or sometimes law enforcement. To be a Rider is like being a celebrity. It’s a common dream for children to wish to be picked by a tug and go out to have epic adventures with them.

The Sodor engines were affected by the curse as well, having turned into beasts themselves. The steamers being the carnivores, and the diesels being the herbivores
