Spyxfamily random side character of the day: Sharon’s son. He’s supposed to be in the same school and grade as Anya and yet we have never once seen nor heard him. So I’m writing him in as Anya’s friend that none of her other friends like because they’re super chill. He’s a loser and like negative inches tall but he’s sweet and very earnest. He used to get bullied but since he became friends with Anya everyone started leaving him alone (she punches people and isn’t afraid of bombs, she can also easily dogged Billy’s death throws, not the kinda girl you wanna tick off)

Low key Mr Steal Your Girl bc they only reason they got to hanging was bc she fell out with Beccs and Damian was being moody so now your bitch is gone. I named him Owen because I thought his mom’s name was Olka. He loves monkeys, his favourite show is German Seseme Street, he likes bananas and he loves his Mama.

He takes the bus and sometimes goes by Anya when their moms are working late. He was afraid of dogs until he met Bond and after a few heart attacks they’re chill now. He’s still afraid of Loid and avoids him, Twilight is convinced if they don’t become besties Owen would expose the whole mission and ruin everything (leap in logic there) and therefore refuses to give up and trying to bond with him.

Duncan sat on the dock of shame with one leg dangling off the edge and the other proped up to rest his chin on. He heard foot steps from behind him but didn’t bother to pay attention to them. The foot step slowly stoped which made Duncan turn to face who was standing behind him.

“oh, it’s just you,” Duncan said with boredom in his voice

“Just me? What does that mean? Did you expect there to be a pack of wild bison?” Trent laughed

“Dude, we’re in Canada.. also I ment ‘Just you’ bc any other guy would be less boring!” Duncan groaned,

“Oh whatever! Would u rather it be me or Owen?”

“Hmm..” Duncan hummed pretending to think, “I think…”

“Alright! You proved your point!” Trent rolled his eyes as Duncan laid a soft smile on his face. Trent sat down next to him and thought for a moment.

“You and Courtney huh? Hows that going down?” Trent said nudging Duncan with his elbow

“Me and Courtney? How about you and Gwen?”

“Well…..”

“Well?”

“I don’t really think she’s into me a whole lot!”

“You’ve got to be the most. Blind. Per-son. On- the. Plan-et!” Duncan joked poking Trent with each word he said

“Sure she’s the most beautiful girl I’ve seen, her personality it awesome and she’s just a great girl over all! I’d do anything for her just to notice me once!”

“Damn you’re down bad!” Duncan said giving him a look,

“Im not as down bad as you, you’d do the same with Courtney!” Trent said, getting defensive

“noho-way! I’d never, her perfect brown hair the way her eyes stare daggers at me, I’d-“

“See! That! You like Courtney!”

“What? No, I just…..” Duncan turned away thinking

“You just?” Trent said in a mocking voice,

“Shut up man!” Duncan smiled a bit punching into Trent’s arm

“Hey!” Trent smiled back punching Duncan harder.

This then turned into a wrestling match where Duncan pinned Trent down laughing

“Youre weak! Did you know that?” Duncan said

“No, I didn’t! T-thanks for that information!” Trent said struggling under Duncan, kicking the dock with his feet and arching his back to try to get up. (It didn’t work)

eventually Trent brought his leg up to his stomach so he could kick Duncan off him. Not wanting to hurt him, Trent lightly nudged his foot into Duncan’s stomach.

“Duhuhude!” Duncan laughed releasing one of Trent’s arms to stop the foot tickling into his stomach

“W-hat?” Trent said still struggling to get the upper hand

“Don’t do that!” Duncan said kinda quiet

“What? This?” Trent asked wiggling his foot again into Duncan’s stomach

Duncan’s eyes widened, trying not to giggle, grabbed and pushed Trent’s foot back down.

“Yehes! That!”

Trent easily connected the dots, Duncan’s ticklish, stomach ticklish, foot tickle stomach, Duncan embarrassed.

“Why? Does it tickle?” Trent said in a baby mocking voice.

“Shut! Up! You’re so loud!” Duncan said shushing Trent, looking around paranoid.

“Oh, I’m loud! Oh oh sor-ry!” Trent said annoyed

“yeah! You are loud!” Duncan said pinning Trent’s arms again

He gave Trent a smug, I’ll make you pay, smile. Trent panicked, squirming under Duncan and looking for an opportunity to try to get away, it was too late.

“Duncan! I don’t know what you plan to do,” Yes he did, Trent knew what he was about to do. “But I’m begging you this is not the right way to handle things!”

“oh? Is it? I’ll show you loud!” Duncan said before using 1 hand to pin Trent and the other to scribble into Trent’s stomach

“AHaha! Wahahait! Duncan!!” Trent giggled, his stomach wasn’t his worst spot, but it kinda embarrassed Duncan seeing how little he reacted compared to him.

Duncan moved his fingers up to his armpits, Trent’s laughter raised a bit but not as much as Duncan wanted it to raise.

“Ohohokahay!! YoOhou made your POHOint!” Trent laughed, using his legs to kick Duncan in the back. It was a good try but all it felt like is if somebody tapped you on the shoulder to ask a question.

Duncan still wanting the satisfaction of showing how loud Trent can get, he moved down.

“waitwaitwaitwaitwait!! If yohour doing whahat i think you’re dohoing- DUNCAN!” Trent pleaded for Duncan’s attention, too bad Duncan had other plans.

Duncan squeezed Trent’s hips, causing Trent to let out a squeaky laughter.

“DUNCAN!! I-IHIHI-I! PLEHEHEAHASE!!” Trent stoped trying to kick Duncan, instead he started to kick dock harder.

“So you are loud?” Duncan gave Trent a cheeky grin

“YEHEAHASS!! YEHEHAS!! PLEHEHASE LET ME GOHAHAHA!!” Trent screamed,

Duncan quickly stoped, not wanted to get caught by the other campers. Trent pulled his arms down to try to rub away the tickles, eventually just hugging his middle and giggling to himself.

“What’s wrong? Was somebody too loud?” Duncan mocked

“Shuhuhut! It!” Trent panted out still catching his breath.

After Trent recovered, he and Duncan just sat in silence for a while. But Trent just had to say something

“So are you gonna act like that whole thing was caused because you were too embarrassed to admit you were ticklish?” Trent asked, smiling when he saw Duncan’s face turn from a ‘whatever’ to a ‘Oh shit’

"I wouldnt say that!" Duncan say quick, thinking of other excuses in case Trent were to ask more question.

“Calm down, I was just messing with you!” Trent chuckled poking Duncan's stomach. Duncan gasped and stared at Trent, Trent just smiled and got up to leave.

"I'll see you tomorrow," Trent waved leaving Duncan to think to him self.

Duncan's pissed. This whole time there's been a five-star resort on the other side of the island, while he's been roughing it in the woods and putting up with Chef's crappy food? Yeah, screw McLean. If Duncan had known about the Playa, he would have snuck in to visit Courtney ages ago.

As it is, the first thing Courtney does when Duncan steps off the Boat of Losers is sock him directly on the arm, hard.

"Damn, Princess, didn't know you could pack a punch," he cracks, massaging his shoulder and shooting Courtney the usual smirk. "Glad to see you missed me."

She rolls her eyes, brows drawn into a glare. She's wearing her grey swimsuit, which he used to think was boring and prudish - now he just thinks it's hot.

"That," Courtney proclaims, crossing her arms across her chest. "Was for snuggling up to Heather."

"What, that?" Duncan scoffs. "Come on, you know I can't stand that chick. And she cozied up to me, or did the cameras not show that part?"

"Doesn't matter!" She throws her arms up in the air - long, tan arms, nice - nearly hitting him in the face. "You let it happen! I saw it!"

He just grins. "You know what you also saw?"

Her only response is a mean stink-eye. God, this woman is like no one else.

"You saw me in the confessionals shouting out to you every episode since you got booted off," he says. "You saw me spray paint the walls of my side of the cabin with your skull."

She narrows her eyes. "That was supposed to be me?"

Duncan blinks. "I thought that was obvious."

Is he seeing things, or did the corner of her lips twitch? "Don't think I missed the heart you carved in the back of my totem head."

"Oh, man, they aired that?" Duncan groans. "The guys at juvie are never gonna let me hear the end of it."

"Well, it doesn't matter anyway, Duncan, because I want absolutely nothing to do with you." And she quite literally sticks up her nose at him. "Hmmpf!"

"Riiiiiight. Sure thing, Princess. And you're the only one who came to the docks to see me because...?"

"Just to tell you how much of an ogre you are!" Courtney splutters, cheeks darkening - has it really been that long since he last saw her, or are there more freckles scattering the bridge of her nose than there were before? "I'm a C.I.T. You're a delinquent. It's not hard to do the math."

Duncan holds up his hands in surrender. "Ok, fine. You have fun making out with Harold, then, since clearly he's more your type."

To his surprise, Courtney freezes, mouth agape. "They didn't tell you...?"

He frowns. "Tell me what?"

"Harold's the reason I got eliminated in the first place! He switched the votes when no one was looking, the little twerp." Her hands ball into fists at her sides. "I've been on the warpath for that dweeb ever since. My lawyers say Chris is going down."

"That geeky little snake!" Duncan pounds his fist into his palm. "Who does that?!"

"Someone who wants to get back at a certain mohawked bully, that's who," Courtney declares. "Don't worry, I haven't let him off easy."

"That's my girl." Another sock to the arm. "Ow! The hell was that for?"

"I'm not your girl," says Courtney, and yeah, she's definitely smiling this time. "As if."

"Uh-huh. How's the pool here? I could use a nice, long swim. Maybe with a certain Type A-In-Training?"

"Ugh. You're still so not my type." She glances around, seems to decide it's safe, then snags him by the collar and sticks her tongue in his mouth. "Mmmm!" She breaks off before he can really return the favor. "Come on, Caveman. Let's get you into your trunks."

Blood rushing in his veins like Owen rushes for breakfast, Duncan grins. "Or maybe you should get me out of my - "

Day 8 - Are there any scenes (or even full episodes) that you can’t stand? If yes, and you could go back in time and rewrite them, how would you fix them?

LITERALLY HAD TO PUT THIS UNDER THE CUT TOO BC ITS SO LONG FJSDHFKJSDFHKDSJFHKDSJDSHFSDKJFHK I HATE THIS FUCKING SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

im not gonna rlly propose fix-its, i just like to bitch. haha. anyway, in no particular order…

the owen & jack jail scene in dmw. it’s sooo frustratingly underwhelming. they had the perfect chance to explore some really interesting stuff with jack + his relationship with his immortality, and to explore the parallels drawn between the two of them, and jack suddenly having someone who might also "live" forever to keep him company… and then they Didn’t. it’s suuuch a let down. and the first half of that scene being ‘light-hearted’ and gross is so irritating and disrespectful to owen. absolutely the wrong tone. that ep pisses me tf off.

i have a lot of issues with owen & jack’s relationship in general. in aditd, when owen tries to drown himself + finds he can’t, and jack’s reaction is to 1) throw a soulless flirty line at him, and 2) ask him “how long he’s gonna do this for”... that scene bugs the fuck out of me. like what the fuck. what a monstrous way to react to someone who’s suicidal. and i’d like it if the show ever bothered to explore why jack seems to view owen’s suicidality with such disdain (because it’s a consistent thing; he’s also callous in combat), like that could also provide insight into his character - but they don’t! ugh! so it just makes him look like a fucking dick and makes me resent him. especially when he’s a lot more sympathetic to john in out of time. like why is he so nasty to owen in particular. fuck knows, they don’t bother touching on it. missed opportunities!!!

and, returning to the way dmw treats owen, i hateeee how he’s treated once he’s dead, by the characters AND the writers. everyone on the team is cruel towards him during his undead arc. they warm up again to him later, but the show itself decides he’s no longer relevant after that + seems to act like all his angst went away and he’s fine again. torchwood SUCKS at emotional continuity. the only time it comes up is that they REPEATEDLY have the antagonist of the episode make a point to remind owen + the viewers how pathetic and useless he is now that he’s dead (the nostravite + the ghostmaker both do it). and it’s just.. corny, and disrespectful, like come on.

actually dead man walking as a whole... i just hate that episode. i talked about it more here, it’s just….. ridiculous, and bad, and embarrassing 😭 i had to skip the fucking fight scene at the end i didn’t have the strength i get secondhand embarrassment too easily HFDJKSHFKDJS. the concept isn’t terrible it’s the fucking execution its sooo… idek how i’d fix that mess. i don’t like it. blegh. and like i said, tw does emotional continuity so poorly, like i don’t really have a question i can fully bitch about this on (well? maybe. we’ll see) but the way they go through significant traumas every ep and the emotional weight of those events is never touched on in the following eps... like the shit in dmw would’ve been a lot for owen to deal with but by aditd he’s got other problems. it’s just… ugh.

and if dmw is the second worst use of bad cgi, we must talk about the first… abaddon. i love end of days so fucking much, the interpersonal shit going on between the team is FASCINATING and so good, the mutiny scene is so good, them all being haunted by their past (aka the events of the past 12 episodes) is so good, for torchwood it’s a GOOD episode - and then there’s this fucking ridiculously embarassing terrible monster from the depths of hell stomping everywhere and roaring and i literally cannot describe how hard i was laughing when i first watched that ep. genuinely hysterical. especially after getting gut-punched like thirty times throughout the rest. and whatever jack did to defeat it... so fucking bad. SO fucking bad. idk what the fuck that was but it was a MESS. and the worst possible way to wrap up the “something’s coming out of the darkness O.O” bullshit (which, they didn’t, that continued into owen’s arc, like cmon…) it was just a shit show. see it’s hard for me to hypothesize about how they coulda fixed that bc it’s so bad but it’s kind of iconic. im kind of glad it’s there bc it’s just… torchwood wouldn’t be torchwood if it wasn’t fucking awful. but also. shudders.

ok ok i swear ill stop complaining abt owen-specific shit but ofc thts what i take most issue with, and a lot of my complaints abt the others are less about specific scenes and more generalized things, so ill talk about them when i talk about their characters… ill talk about this more in owen’s section, but i have… problems with the end of days ending, with the hugs. i like that scene a lot, the connotations are fascinating, but the way owen and jack are framed in it is…. eugh…. and most people miss the fact that it’s ‘eugh’? a lot of people see it as a sweet scene and that’s… oof… again i’ll get into it more later but i wish it was framed differently. torchwood could never make up it’s mind on how it saw the characters, lmao.

adjacent subject… the way jack’s return is framed. i HATE the way they just bounce back to normal once jack comes back. like, him leaving would’ve been fucking traumatizing. and the show doesn’t properly give closure to any of them. (it does a tiny bit to gwen + ianto, but like… owen’s abandonment issues are a consistent theme in the show, esp s1. his ‘did he fix you?’ line is unnecessarily sooo heartbreaking. what do you mean ur not gonna give a single moment to those two. Okay.) tbh a lot of these complaints are about the fact that i desperately wish torchwood was a show that cared about the emotions + mental health of their characters when it simply Is Not. tw is, regrettably, not the character-focused show it should be. and i hate it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a few last owen specific things…. i hate the owen growling at the weevil scene in combat. like what was the deal with that. they don’t rlly explain it in the commentary either it’s just. ?? but again it’s one of those things thts like. i can’t imagine a world where this show was actually good + didn’t have random weird cringe shit sprinkled in HFKSDJF it’s part of the charm. sigh

also owen & mark shouldve fucked. combat should’ve been gayer.

captain jack harkness should’ve been LESS gay. the excessive tongue kissing was fucking gross FSHDFJKDS like. i know that scene’s important to a lot of people + i respect it as an important moment in queer television + the way it’s framed as this big romantic moment, but the actual kissing is just. gross. why did they have to kiss like that. there are better ways to kiss. sincerely, someone who’s very picky about kisses + still covers my eyes like a kid at like 60% of onscreen kisses. 

tkks stopwatch scene. ianto why are you flirting w the man who killed ur girlfriend four episodes ago. fucking evil. like ok lmao 👍thats not bad writing whatsoever to never explore that in-show and only do it in an audio 10 yrs later. sure.

all of them randomly having empathy for the alien whale in meat has always driven me crazy. i thought we were gonna find out that the whale had like, empathy-enhancing powers or telepathy or smth bc i couldn’t understand why any of those assholes cared sm. like, in tkks we find out the glove is fueled by empathy + that’s why none of them can use it. like, these are people who aren’t naturally empathetic. nothing wrong with that, i’m like that lol. so i was really thrown off when they randomly all deeply cared about an alien creature. especially owen. like, i get randomly being moved by something, happens to the best of us, but the way it affected all of them + so profoundly felt ooc to me and has always bugged me a little. s2 tried so badly to humanize a group that s1 painted as absolute assholes, and i personally LOVE that they’re assholes. i am not the biggest fan of s2, lol.

a lot of tosh scenes bug me, bc the show generally has very little respect for her + her capabilities, but ill get into that more when i talk about her as a character. specifically some of the tosh & owen scenes fucking INFURIATE me. he’s so nasty to her. the end of adam (‘i dont do apologies’ and the smug little smile), and laughing at her when he agrees to the date in reset, and ‘in your dreams, tosh’ in countrycide all stand out. ive complained about it before + ill do it again; idk wtf they were trying to tell the viewers with tosh/owen. i like the concept of the ship, because it has potential - i absolutely HATE it within the context of the show. every ‘towen moment’ just works to humiliate tosh. it’s awful.

killing beth. im sure other people have done essays on the way torchwood treats its poc, esp its woc (although, knowing this fandom, maybe not lmao), and the lisa sitch was enough of a mess… the beth sitch could’ve been done differently. her essentially committing suicide by cop was fucking awful. ugh.

also the twist that suzie was evil + ten steps ahead could’ve been done much better. that should’ve been better written. 

as i said, i dont even like tosh/owen, but the fact that you never see them dance in something borrowed was just plain mean tbh. u can see like a millisecond of a frame if you pause in the right place, but still, why not include a fraction of a nice moment between them. cmon. something like that might’ve actually made me like them more

i bitched about adam a lot the other day (again, here)… idek how i’d get that episode up to my standards. im petty about s2 as a whole and ive been meaning to try to put thought into what would fix it for me for months and i haven’t gotten around to it cuz its such a daunting thought. grr. i think i’d just completely redo the way adam influences them all. i literally don’t like what any of their altered selves offer. there’s no insight into them i find worthwhile. ig the shit abt jack’s past is worth keeping but i’d redo it completely bc i hate the gray arc. i’d have to find some way to keep the conference scene though, or get that new character info + vibe elsewhere. bah

ok so I want to preface my answer with the acknowledgement that I grew up watching this show. I watched seasons 3-7 live as they aired while I was in high school (I stopped watching at some point during s7). so there is a big nostalgia factor for me.

also pretty much every male character is misogynistic to varying degrees. alex and mark are basically sex pests and don't think of women outside of sexual gratification until they suddenly fall for someone. (hell, denny is also kind of a sex pest, like all his convos with izzie are basically sexual harassment, but apparently she's into it????) I love derek and he's by far my fave of the men, but the fact that mark is his bff means I would not be trusting him irl. I just got to the episode where alex almost slept with april and jackson punched him for being an asshole to her, but then a few days later they're laughing and friendly w each other again, so the same for jackson. I haven't gotten to it yet, but I know owen is pro-life and gets mad when cristina has an abortion (which is incredibly unsurprising after that ep when he kept trying to stop that one woman who wasn't even his patient from going thru with physician assisted suicide). my issues w burke and webber are more due to them putting people in danger bc their egos (i.e. burke not saying anything about his tremors until he was forced to disclose it, richard still operating once he started drinking again) than misogyny. point is, the moral compass of the show is fucked and none of the men here are winners lmao (except ben! ben has never done anything wrong in his life ever. but he also is a very minor character if we're looking solely at grey's and not including the spinoffs (at least where I am so far))

anyway, the point of saying all this is that in order to have any kind of enjoyment when it comes to this show, you kind of are required to overlook some of this. I love derek and jackson (and ben), I like mark (most of the time), alex is sometimes okay. there's also the fact that the early seasons (where george was part of the cast) were the aughts and characters like george were becoming more common as an alternative to characters like alex and mark. (hell, not to stray super far off topic but look at himym - specifically ted and barney. same thing lol.)

I give all this context to say that I do like george. now before I do any sort of defense for him, let me break down your reasons for hating him:

I agree that him sleeping with meredith was a gross moment and tbh I do my best to ignore that subplot completely bc it didn't do either character any favors imo. he shouldn't have told her his feelings when he knew she was in a bad headspace, and while she was the one who initiated the kiss/sex, he should have immediately stopped it and not let things progress to the point of her breaking down and crying. I can't defend him for this, he was undeniably in the wrong. I want to believe that if the show started airing today instead of 20 years ago, that the whole george pining after meredith thing wouldn't have ever existed bc it was just. really strange and unnecessary when there was already so much merder drama.

Also the way he treats Callie is so fucking foul.

maybe it's my nostalgia goggles, but ig I have a bit more of a charitable read on this? there were a lot of issues in their relationship bc it started when he was still hung up on meredith, and he really should not have jumped into a relationship in that headspace. he was also terrible at defending her and choosing her over his friends, which was disappointing but tbh I chalk that up to the writers living up izzie's insufferable ass and acting like she's the most moral character on the show while she was there (news flash to the writers room: she is one of the more morally bankrupt characters in the show!!!). george being pissed at callie for sleeping w sloan while they were broken up is shitty, but 1) almost every male character on this show has a fucking meltdown when they learn the ex they're in love with slept with another person (hell, that includes derek!) 2) it tracks with the aforementioned writing for male characters in the aughts (which tbh the show hasn't really progressed past in 20 years 🫠)

but as for george and callie getting back together after all that? I have a hard time faulting george. his dad had just died and he's being impulsive and reckless and asks callie to marry him after barely getting back together and she says yes???? girl, you know he is not in a good headspace why would you do that?????? I think he was starting to do better by her at that point tho, bc doesn't he freeze izzie out for a few episodes after they're married bc izzie won't stop being a bitch to callie? as for the thing about callie coming from money, I think he overreacted but looking at how things play out in s4, it's clear that this whole argument solely happened for the writers to start pushing george and izzie's "romance" (barfs for 50 years about it). and narratively george and izzie's "romance" makes no fucking sense!!!!!!! izzie sleeping w george reads as her being upset about alex dating other people when she said she wasn't ready to be with him (especially if we take s5 into consideration), for george it reads as a drunken mistake while he's still processing his father's death. and don't get me started on izzie confessing that she loves him and george avoiding her, like that doesn't read as him fighting his feelings that he loves her back, it reads as him being sick of her hot and cold shit and wanting to move on. writers die by my blade for forcing this george + izzie "romance" it's by far one of the things I hate most about the early seasons.

(and if you feel like I'm forgetting anything about george + callie's relationship, please feel free to send me another anon ask about it. binge watching + covid brain damage means I forget things kinda quickly - like I had to pull up the grey's wiki to remind myself of some of these events lmao)

anyway, I feel like where the frustration from you and other ppl who don't like george comes from the fact that the show tries to paint him as superior than most of the other male characters, which is very, very fair. he's not - like I said, pretty much every male character is misogynistic to some degree. it's all bad, it just presents differently for different characters. that being said I would much, much, much rather deal with a george than an alex or mark in my daily life.

anyway, reasons I like george:

he's actually one of the better doctors of the interns. like the heart surgery in the elevator? it's badass and it pisses me off that the show kept bringing up his "007" status from the pilot when he did that by himself!

his loyalty. as much as I fucking despise izzie, he really was always there to support her. and while I don't really think he loved her romantically, he clearly loved her with his whole heart.

he was good with his patients and often was able to be a sensitive person for them to talk to (i.e. that episode in s1 with the fat patient that alex insulted, george was the one who she felt comfortable enough to open up to; that one episode w a kid that was afraid of needles and george demonstrated what was going to happen on himself so he'd stop being scared)

his bravery. that episode where the doctors have to care for the n*zi paramedic is extremely fucking cursed but george telling him that he would've killed him on the table? fucking ICONIC. and I feel like it's hard to talk about george w/o discussing the fact that he died by saving a woman from getting hit by a bus. I don't think there's any other character in the cast (besides maybe owen) who would've saved a stranger by putting themselves on the line like that.

mistakes do happen but callie cheating with mark would be a huge deal. like all of arizona’s fears would become a reality. i don’t see any situation in which she doesn’t leave. but i could totally see everyone like separating themselves from callie and mark a little. like derek and cristina cannot believe what callie did and derek is pissed cause mark did it again. and bailey being so disappointed and just shaking her head every time she’s around callie. alex would be so pissed cause arizona is just beaten down at this point.

the sad thing is that arizona wouldn’t have done what callie did after she found out about lauren. she would’ve been quiet about it and probably even made excuses for her. like she’s been a bad wife/girlfriend and she can’t blame callie, but she can’t stay. she would think she deserved it and idk how in the hell they could ever come back from that. the damage callie would do to arizona would be huge. would she have any remorse for doing it? like would she expect arizona to stick around and get over it?

i would love to write callie cheating with mark for all of the external reactions tbh. i think there would be much more discussion about it than arizona's cheating bc it's two people they know, and two people they all know well, not arizona, who is mainly callie's gf/wife, and some rando. (and yes, yes, we all recognize that they wouldn't cheat, they shouldn't cheat, this is just for fun and chaos)

cristina: cristina almost thinks it's a joke at first because there's no way, right? but then when it's confirmed, cristina giving both callie and mark the cold shoulder. like imagine one of them paging cardio and getting cristina and she barely says a word to them, only what's necessary for the patient. especially if it's after the plane crash, when she and arizona are totally trauma bonded

derek: he'd be so pissed at mark, like you said. like how can mark do this again and again and is he so damaged that he thinks this is okay? mark would totally try to justify things and derek would just stop talking to him

bailey: again, i think you nailed it. lots of "i'm not mad i'm just disappointed"; i don't think she'd give callie the same speech she gave george - ie you cheated but you're not a bad person maybe your wife just isn't great? - instead, just lots of shaking her head and telling mark to stop messing around in other people's marriages

alex: alex would offer to fight mark. like alex finding arizona right after she's been crying in her office or something, and saying "i could punch sloan's lights out if you want. i don't hit women though, i draw the line there"

owen: owen would probably ofc take the cheaters' side bc he's allergic to good takes

addison: addison hears about it through the very impressive rumor mill and calls callie to ask if it's just a bad case of telephone. and then totally telling her off for repeating her mistakes.

carlos: carlos would basically give callie the same info he did in canon and callie would probably have a rough time realizing she's making the same mistakes as her parents. he'd also probably try and throw mark through a window

teddy: teddy hears about it like three months after and calls arizona and asks why she didn't tell her bc she would've come and visited or something. and arizona with some line about how she didn't want to bother teddy.

my thoughts on doctor who characters and their opinions on barbie (my mental illness has reached its peak)

rose went to see barbie and she wore full pink and for sure cried because that disconnect in mothers she has had w/ jackie (mickey tagged along but like found himself in ken and so rose got grossed out and left him there and he went to see oppenheimer after) (jackie cried)

nine watched barbie but because rose made me, he actually liked it but did NOT wear pink. he went to watch oppenheimer after and threw popcorn when it was wrong

martha watched barbie and LOVED it she wore a pink top and expected it to be camp but cried (mother issues </3) and she kinda found similarities in ken and the doctor and she avoided analyzing that too deeply

donna wore so much pink for barbie and she fucking loved it she for sure cried (mother issues 3.0) she couldn’t stop talking about it for a week she loved the soundtrack and has at least one song on repeat. she almost punched the doctor when he said he was watching oppenheimer

jack would want to see oppenheimer but ianto wanted to see barbie so they went to barbie with gwen, tosh, and owen and tbh they had a group cry after and it’s all they talked about for the following week.

ten wanted to watch oppenheimer for the incorrect trivia but every one of his companions kidnapped him and so he watch barbie and he loved it but the way martha looked at him after left him shaking in his boots

amy wanted to watch oppenheimer but rory wanted to watch barbie (they went to see oppenheimer because rory would do anything for amy) they enjoyed it and after watched barbie because amy felt bad and tbh she liked it more but she wouldn’t admit it (mother issues 4.0)

river went to see indiana jones but also barbie and oppenheimer (over the course of a week or in one day vortex manipulator) she LOVED barbie indiana jones opened her up to phoebe waller bridge and she found fleabag… let’s just say “it’ll pass” left her thinking of the doctor…

eleven went to see indiana jones because it reminded him of river but after he went to oppenheimer and actually he got so mad at the incorrect things (it could’ve been one item and he would’ve still done this) he went back and talked to nolan himself eleven also watched barbie and he wore a pink bow tie and cried, he left feeling depressed because he over thought (also during oppenheimer he got bored so he for sure left in the middle of the movie) (also for barbie if he didn’t go on his own clara would’ve dragged him)

vastra and jenny both watched barbie and jenny loved it more but vastra loved it cause of how much jenny loved it

clara went to see barbie and LOVED it she wore a pink floral shirt (or skirt, i could see either one) and cried (mother issues what is this now 5?) but i also know she loved making her barbie’s kiss other barbie’s but also kens (me too) she also loved allen but because he looked goofy

bill went to see barbie and loved it SHE WORE A FULL PINK OUTFIT she loved it so much she begged the doctor to let her see it twice she wanted to fight ken and i know she would argue with anyone who had a shit opinion on the movie (she considered oppenheimer for florence pugh) [she also cried bc of mother issues]

twelve wanted to see none of them but got dragged to barbie by both bill and clara and he will NEVER admit it but he cried (he didn’t wear pink which almost got him smacked) he thought about that movie for weeks and even went back in time to be on set

yaz went to see barbie and cried (mother issues how many more can we get) and she definitely wore a pink outfit. she was so excited for this movie she made the doctor bring her to the future to see it (she went again with her sister and they cried together)

ryan went to see barbie and wore a pink shirt OR dressed as ken (cried mommy issues AGAIN) he really enjoyed it and i know he thought about what his ken would be like after the movie

graham went with ryan and yaz after yaz begged for them to go and he liked the film (he wore a pink hat idk why) and he is VOCAL about his opinions but like not in a bad way, he listens to feedback for different opinions and he has the mentality of “it wasn’t meant for me was it”

thirteen watched barbie with yaz on a date and loved it, she watched barbie grow up when visiting earth and was always fascinated by them, she has a few barbie’s somewhere in the tardis and even went back and bought a few after watch the movie (she bought allen and she also bought yaz a very limited barbie… well i say bought…)

simms!master watched oppenheimer because barbie was too bright in his opinion, he laughed during oppenheimer.

missy watched both oppenheimer and barbie, season eight missy would’ve liked oppenheimer more because it gave her ideas. season ten missy? she LOVED barbie the depth in character + finding your own purpose resonated so well with her and she cried even if she would never admit it

dhawan!master loved barbie IDCC look he made oppenheimer for thirteen like he didn’t need a 2for1 deal. he resonated so hard with barbie and the mother issues (but it’s the older timelord shunning him for the problem they caused) like yeah he was frothing at the mouth holding back tears. the whole “what is my purpose” feeling pre-blowing up galifrey probably would’ve left his ass question if he was making a bad decision. he considered seeing oppenheimer but heard it’s as three hours and got mad so he just read the wiki to it and still got bored

Curt felt his chest rise and fall against his palm, eyes half closed as Owen brushed his fingers along his hand, humming gently as crickets chirped in the nearby bushes. Curt's mothers' home was surrounded by shrubs, trees swayed in the dull light of the moon, fireflies danced across their vision. They had caught fireflies together earlier in the night, only letting them go before they lay against the blanket they had brought out earlier in the day.

That day felt almost too normal, too perfect. The weather was crisp and warm, shirts were stained so perfectly from the yardwork Mrs. Mega had tasked them with to keep them busy. Curt was never a fan of chores, but something about doing them with Owen, who kept his sleeves rolled up and jacket around his waist, hair tied back using one of his mother's ties? He looked far too stunning, Curt couldn't take it. He wanted to tackle him to the ground and punch him across the face, before holding him there, head pressed against his neck leaving dark hickeys he knew Owen wasn't a fan of.

Owen lay beside him now, fingers touching his skin. Curt heard him roll over, felt his hand grace his cheek as he forced a glance from his partner, before smiling into Curt's gentle eyes, "I'm exhausted," he muttered, hearing Curt let out a faint laugh. He rolled over too, to match Owen. Their legs interlocked, skin to skin, pulling each other closer. Curt closed his eyes for a moment, feeling Owen press their foreheads together with a faint laugh, "I feel so damn sore."

"Me too," Curt muttered, hearing Owen let out a yawn before turning back to the sky, "Back home did you ever do stargazing?"

Owen shook his head, leaning up using his elbows that wrinkled the blanket, his arms covered by his dark gray jacket. Curt missed when he could see every scar on them, but this wasn't so bad. He liked this jacket, it was one he'd steal if Owen let him. He already had enough of his jackets though.

"We were never in a good area for it. Too much light," Owen frowned, eyes tracing the twinkling stars that painted the midnight sky, "I went on a camping trip with my mates once, that was fun. We got to watch the stars for a bit that night. I wish I got to enjoy it then."

Curt rolled back onto his back, looking up at the sky, "I wish they were more visible here."

Owen nodded, finding Curt's hand again, "One of these days we'll go camping. Maybe while I'm here we could. If there's any good grounds around here."

Curt let out a faint sigh, breath disappearing into the delicate air of night, "Sounds fun," he smiled, letting his eyes close as he rolled over closer to Owen, body pressed against his, "It's cold out here."

"Do you want to go inside and grab a jacket?" Owen asked, feeling Curt wrap his arms around his side. "I take that as a no," Owen chuckled, feeling Curt nod his head against him, as if he were a small dog pressing against him in affection and warmth. Owen was never one to deny Curt affection, not at a time like this. He'd only be cruel enough to when he was in the mood to torture Curt, when watching his desperation was cute.

It's funny, a year ago when they started this, Curt was horrified to go anywhere near Owen, as if he'd catch a cold from his partners lips. He had lost that fear, now unable to keep himself from pressing against Owen, from feeling his hands.

"I'm going to bed," Owen rolled over, feeling Curt's hands wrap around his side.

Curt muttered a soft "Alright," into the back of Owen's neck, feeling his partner's heartbeat against his palm, a smile forming on his face as he felt it rise and fall ever so slightly, before he found his eyes close.

Maybe tomorrow he and Owen would find a good spot in the woods nearby, maybe they'd camp. Look out at the stars before Owen had to leave. Curt almost forgot they still had work to do, that Owen would be leaving Texas on Monday morning, that he would be unsure if he'd ever see him again. He hoped he'd see him again, although of course, nothing is set in stone with a job like theirs.

HI COLUCANA,,,, it's perfectly ok to ask its just also. slightly insane and absolutely busted and its probably bc it stemmed from a goddamn dream.

it's gonna be a long one. tw for fucked up human experimentation and body horror

ok so we all know lilliane vaude fucking HATES finral. like it's an entire thing she's out here deadass telling a child "i dont love you because you're not my son". (she has inferiority issues huh. mad about being a second choice are you?) anyways. i was like 'what if it was worse!' and it did that.

so lilliane on her power trip is like "what if i tortured my stepson :)" and she has a facility in her basement that's theoretically to discover the limits of childhood mana but it's really because she hates her stepson. initially it's just finral down there but she's like "oo you know i gotta find subjects that Aren't finral or else if im found out people will Talk"

enter luck, yuno, and asta, subject numbers 17, 34, and 35 respectively. they're brought in fairly young. luck's put to work fighting and "disposing of" useless subjects (except for finral (1) because unfortunately lilliane cannot kill him bc that will be A Problem). yuno with all his mana quickly becomes one of her favorites, and asta uh.

it's an issue that he doesn't have mana. it quickly becomes not an issue when lilliane ramps his healing factor up to 1000 and now he can regrow organs. so, you know, if finral nearly dies again, she can Fix It.

langris trains against luck (but luck's severely inhibited) to become a magic knight yes he's involved and he has punched spatial magic holes directly into multiple people. he's got a body count of peon children.

anyways asta and yuno make it out by asta dying and ressurecting himself in the Body Pit and yuno throwing such a fit that lilliane just straight up leaves him to die. therefore they escape with their memories and make it back to hage with x100 trauma. asta's goal to become the wizard king is to protect yuno from this happening again bc he blames himself for yuno being taken. yuno on the other hand is like "if im the wizard king,,,, i can fucking Kill Them" he's mad.

finral and luck on the other hand get their memories blocked off and released bc lilliane isnt about to deal with their grimoires yet. now they're out with a bunch of weird scars that neither of them remember. owen is VERY confused.

canon continues as normal up until the magic knights test where langris whoops finral's ass and asta's like "OH YOU THOUGHT" langris realizes exactly who he is and is like "oh. oh no." and immediately tries to kill him.

the elf thing happens before anything goes on but julius got mad suspicious after asta uniquely introduced langris to the crystal (ft yuno freaking out) so after the elf bullshit he's like "hey lilliane :) what's up with uh. with uh. your uh. your lab?" and she's like "oh yk just stuff. you can request an examination if you'd like" and she specifically requests finral + luck bc "i dont want a biased investigation". yami of course has her bitchass READ and sends magna and nessa along with them bc luck, magna, and nessa would Eat Her.

it ends up being just magna and nessa. being confronted with the fact that your life's a lie and you spent your childhood in a laboratory does shit to people. it's a disaster, both luck + finral completely lose it and revert to subject-mode, lilliane Dips Out after magna and vanessa make it out with the others, asta has 37 brand new panics to deal with because now luck recognizes him and his particular breed of trauma has been exposed to the entire squad, yuno becomes even more homicidal. (sylph is terrified btw)

julius ends up smiting lilliane after a very traumatic trial where the captains read all her bullshit files and it's very cathartic for everyone involved (especially sister lily and father orsi, they're angry for the sake of their boys). langris Dips after the trial and yuno catches up with him to Fuck Him Up.

trauma squad back at base is currently undergoing healing (ft ness and mags grieving/relearning their partners). umm yeah its very fun for me personally.

been thinking it over and i thiiiink i actually dont really like claras ending...idk...i think it has both good and bad things about it. do i think twelve would trick several time lords and even kill one just to bring clara back from the dead? yeah absolutely. i think that him doing all of that out of grief and anger was actually like. the best part of that whole scenario. along with clara begging him to stop the entire time he does it. that was all very good. but idk i think that the whole 'clara's pulse never starts again' should have been like. an actual issue. i think she should've died again. right there in the tardis. right after twelve had done literally everything in his power to save her. i think it would've had a much larger emotional impact and felt less cheap than sending clara off in her own tardis with ashildr and then never touching on it again

s2 time! i'm not gonna be as thorough with it as i was w s1 bc i'm not a huge fan of season 2 ff but here goes

(this post's gonna be tosh/owen + some fragments talk, then i'm gonna reblog with a day in the death stuff, and then ill make a separate post for adam bc. woo nelly. that one warrants it.)

so lets start with the tosh/owen differences. a lot of their little scenes in s2 are markedly different - mostly as far as body language. there's a surprising amount of physical affection between them.

four separate occasions (eps 3, 4, 8, and 9) where there's physical affection between them in the script that didn't make it into the episode. i find this intriguing. tosh and owen are both very... non-affectionate people. both of them could be, with someone they loved romantically, but they don't strike me as the type of people who like to cuddle with their friends. they're both naturally very aloof and non-touchy, which makes that casual physical touch very ooc. i imagine that's why it didn't end up on screen. i figure the writers here knew the show was meant to push the tosh/owen angle in s2, but it's interesting to me that it ended up being a lot more subtle and... awkward in the show itself. i've already said i'm not a towen fan, for many reasons, but one is that there's just... zero chemistry between them (in s2, anyway). every interaction is forced and uncomfortable. it's weird enough that i was thrown off by it for a long time and couldn't figure out what the show was trying to do with them, lmao. i know that their awkwardness probably appeals to some people, and is cute or smth, but i dislike it personally. mostly i'm just petty the show reduced tosh down to that relationship tbh but whatever.

i can't help but wonder if they had this casual physical affection with each other, and if it fit in and didn't feel ooc for them, if i would like them as a couple more. but honestly i have thought about what the show could've done to make tosh/owen endear me, and i don't think uncharacteristic physical affection would be it. i do like that first scene, the way their communication styles clash a bit and they don't know quite how to talk to each other. i like owen awkwardly trying to comfort her, i love when he does that, how it's like a baby deer walking for the first time fhsdjfkds. im very endeared by the way owen's empathy is either out of nowhere and all-consuming, or something he has to force and is awkward about wielding. whenever he tries to be kind it's very tentative, because it doesn't come natural to him (anymore, at least), but he does care enough to try. i'm so fond of it. also hes sooo nd ehehe. tosh too.

will say this: i do appreciate owen getting hugs. he does need it. tosh needs it too. if the team WAS physically affectionate with each other they'd be better off, i think.

see, this is what i mean when i say i couldn't tell what the show was doing with them. the SHOW can't even tell. this whole scene is written very vaguely, with little insight into owen's head, like the damn writer doesn't even know why he finally agreed. this is probably my, like, fourth favorite tosh/owen scene, which isn't saying much, 'cause i still don't really like it. it's cute in like, three spots, but mostly it just feels... weird. i don't understand what burn was intending with his acting choices, because owen comes across as insincere and slightly snide. it's weird and gross, and it rubs me wrong. i don't know if he's trying to be casual and play it cool or something, but the way he laughs at her makes me wanna punch him. the way owen treats tosh is just about the only place i legitimately can't stand him.

one last bit about it. see, 'fondly'. in the actual scene, i would describe the way owen looks at her in this moment as.... amused (at her expense) and slightly condescending. like he thinks she's laughable. it fucking bothers me. which sucks because i wanna like them, i do. i think they could be compatible. but the way he treats her in canon is nauseating and i can't get behind it.

right, and then two fragments moments i wanna discuss

all i really wanna say here is again (as mentioned in my end of days talk), chibnall didn't specify owen crying or anything, but he spends his whole segment of this ep in tears. point is i wanna thank burn gorman for the way owen constantly is teary eyed and miserable, with those big pretty brown doe eyes of his. it means the world to me. thats all

actually it's not all cuz i also wanna point out jack grabbing owen to stop him instead of owen collapsing into tears and sobbing into jacks chest while jack holds him. the dead man walking script similarly didn't specify the physical touch between jack and owen in the three places it appears, so i imagine that was largely something decided by the actors... i'm very compelled by the three separate instances where we see owen attack jack one minute / at one point in the ep and then sob in his arms the next. their relationship is sooo unhealthy fff

Grey’s season 18/season finale thoughts because it’s been a day and I’m still chewing on it

They made link likable again! And rekindled his friendship with Jo! That’s honestly a big relief, I was done with detesting him.

Also relieved they broke up Jo and Todd. It felt so forced and random.

Can we PLEASE get ONE (1) more queer couple without - one of them doesn’t want kids and but surprise! they change their minds bc they like this person enough to compromise on this huge aspect of their life decisions! - as a plot line? (ok we don’t know if it got solved but considering they can’t very well get rid of scout and kaimelia seems to be going strong again…

On the other hand, Kaimelia owns my heart now so I am glad they’re back.

Bailey! And Pru! They are the actual sweethearts and, despite my next point, I’m so glad Miranda is chasing her joy! She deserves it!

If the place is that fragile (and it has been, as a a storytelling device, since the first few seasons) that one person leaving can turn it into a fiery trahscan (or be blamed for it, anyhow)… Maybe it’s time we hang up the stethoscopes and find other places?

And tbh, more so, if the way they reward Meredith’s YEARS of undying, unrelenting loyalty… Is by hearing she might be leaving, and instead of even asking her if it was true (which, at that point, wasn’t even a sure thing), or sitting down for a counter offer, she gets her friend and boss barging in, calling her selfish, dragging up aspects of her personal life to try and actively sabotage her relationship; or her mentor using her abusive mom against her as a weapon; or to be called selfish and dishonorable for trying not to be left alone in a haunted hospital after everyone has left and died and moved on… Maybe that loyalty is undeserved and would be more appreciated elsewhere.

I’m still not 100% on Nick. There’s nothing about him that makes me attached or emotional. He’s just… There.

Maggie and Winston continue to own my heart. I was glad their quickness to move got addressed, while showing that just because they might not know everything, the things that matter are there and are a solid foundation.

Someone else pointed this out and I need to add here that the flashbacks being used so much just cheapen it out and in the end when they try to do something emotional for the actual finale they’ll have used up all the emotional punch of them.

Teddy and Owen… Mixed feelings about their storyline rn but i love their family.
