More of married Satosugu bc I love them so much. This time with Nanako and Mimiko!! Bc I also love them (poor girls deserve better)
---------------------
Geto and Gojo are sat on the couch. As happy as can be. With Geto leaning on Gojo shoulder while they watch their show together.
And while they wait for their girls to come back home. "Suguru, they'll be fine." And Gojo puts a hand over Getos own hand which had been shaking. "They can handle themselves." He didn't even notice he had been shaking.
It's a normal part of growing up. He tells himself. It's only normal they would want to hang out with their friends more than their parents. Who wouldn't? He didn't exactly love spending to much time with his own parents.
But he can't help it! "They're growing up so fast. What if they don't want to spend time with us anymore?" He says and looks up at Gojo. Who just smiles and shakes his head. "Of course they'll want to spend time with us! We're awesome."
It does little to help Geto. So when the door opens he sprints over to his girls. "Girls! You're home." They look at each other and then at him. "Yeah? What's wrong? Did dad hollow purple out house again?"
"That was one time!"
"Three Satoru." Geto yells back. Then he shakes his head. "No. Nothing is wrong. I just missed you." Nanako shrugs and Mimiko just nods. "Are you hungry? I can make you something." And they shake their heads. "No. We ate at the mall."
It's a normal part of growing up. So why is he so sad? And Gojo must have noticed because before bed he's a little less playful than he usually is. And a lot more comforting. He's holding Geto in his arms and playing gently with his hair.
"They're just teenagers Suguru." And Geto appreciates the effort. Though Gojo had to look up this advice online because he had no idea if this was normal. He wasn't really raised around his parents.
So it makes Geto feel a bit better knowing that. "I know. I just wish they could still be our little girls." Gojo smiles and kisses him. "They are. They just aren't so little anymore." Geto smiles and rests his head on Gojos chest. Feeling that erratic heartbeat.
No matter how many years it's been, Gojo always gets a little nervous around Geto. He's just so pretty to him. "You're right. Thank you." Gojo hugs him tighter. "I always am! But you're welcome. Goodnight." And no other words have to be exchanged.
For the love in the room was so high that Geto could feel it wrapped around him like a blanket. One he didn't want to take off.
--------------------------------
Bonus!
Nanako and Mimiko have been feeling bad about not spending time with their dads as much anymore. So they decided to go out with them!
And found themselves remembering why they didn't spend time with their dads. At least with both of them.
"Ew gross! Get a room!"
They were lovingly holding each other while Gojo kept whispering how much he loved Geto directly into his ear. Making Geto blush a bright red. "I'm just telling your dad how much I love him. He's so handsome. And all for me."
Geto looks away from him. "Satoru we are in public."
They love their dads! But they hate going out with both of them.

Five jjk chapters left, and if I don't see a single frame of toji popped up in any one of them (or an art piece/sketch), I will retire as a writer and go back to drawing.

I've been thinking about this reblog of yours for months and I finally figured out how to respond to it.
I went and read No Longer Human by Junji Ito and it was a very upsetting thing to go through. I don't think I can read it again. However, I came out of it thinking that Gege was probably inspired by it.
When Yozo is first introduced, I noticed that Takaba's backstory was very similar. Feeling isolated from others, he decided to become a clown to gain acceptance from others. (Citations in Image Captions)
Tumblr media
And later when Yozo was caught "cheating" (it's in quotes because those women are child rapists), I noticed that her face was really similar to the one Higuruma's client made when he felt betrayed by the trial outcome.
Tumblr media
There's probably a lot more to say about how themes surrounding CSA and suicide in this work are echoed in JJK, but I'm not able to make the post myself. No Longer Human is too far out of my comfort zone in terms of graphic depiction to delve into it deeper.
But you seem strong enough to handle it, so... Idk maybe run with this some more.
Ohhh this is so interesting! I could definitely read No Longer Human again - tbh I read Junji Ito's version years ago. This year I listened to the audio book and bought a copy - but it's like, a draft in the author's handwriting (bc I thought it would help me study Japanese and if I had an English translation that I'd read it on repeat lmao). But you're real for that - I forget how disturbed people tend to be trying to read through it, I'm sorry that was rough.
I did go back to read the reblog and idk how relevant all that was - I've reread the manga since and felt like, oh I might have been misremembering some things like Uraume - idk if they actually had a freeze response in ch. 219, since they did tell Yorozu to back off though it took a minute - but it's also interesting how their CT deals with ice. Like to have a fight response, they freeze others? It's so interesting but I can't be sure whether it's there at all. (ik that yap II inspired some more coherent posts, like how it influenced Choso's self-image, etc., I linked but didn't tag you back then bc I felt Annoying especially w heavy topics but I can definitely go back and find them if you'd like.)
On a twin peaks note (without spoiling it), I feel like it inspired jjk to some extent - I've been feeling like the last chapter will end the way s2 did. Or at least - with the weird dreamy themes, "we are the dreamer who dreams and who lives inside the dream", etc...
But you're right - Yozo and the others' reactions resemble more jjk characters than I would think to connect. Takaba's jokes are truly a shield... And now I have an excuse to read Junji Ito's version again? Thank u so much (also isn't it funny how September 28 Uzumaki airs and September 30 jjk ends?).
I think gege gets inspired by the most tragic stories, I wonder how much of that is accurate but I can't always be convinced otherwise.... Especially when anime / manga series that he's confirmed as influences often deal with autonomy in ways that I couldn't handle (Evangelion, the night beyond the tricornered window).
By the way - ik we've mentioned elfen lied before, but in the first episode, you know that coffee mug? How it looks like jjk foreshadowing? Even has snail head Mahito - cut off-, the baseball, Panda, the worm (also cut off).... and later the newborn babies that look just like Yuuji...
Tumblr media
I swear that elfen lied, Kagewani, and banana fish influenced jjk. It seems so obvious w those, maybe Vampire Princess Miyu as well.
Sorry for getting off topic - I've been looking into why Momotaro keeps coming up in jujutsu kaisen, and in the end it came back full circle to that damn coffee cup. Invest in a baseball team? A zoo? I'm going insane.
All this to say - rereading Junji Ito's version and seeing if I notice similarities between manga panels is so exciting. Gege even made a note that he asked for permission before drawing - I think it was the Uzumaki CT - So we know he's a big fan of Junji Ito. And it seems like there is a rly good chance No Longer Human inspired him as well (though I feel like characters with similar traumas having similar reactions is inevitable to some extent, if they're written in a believable way, it should be clearer when I'm reading both stories in the same format) based on the stories he has officially referenced.

You know what, as much as I hate to say this, I think it's better that Satoru stays dead narratively. The one person he truly loved had died before him—because he killed him. Satoru's most likely just waiting for the right time to die and for the right person to kill him so he could finally be with Suguru. The man isolated himself not just because he was the only strongest sorcerer around and no one could reach him; he felt lonely because no one understood him as much as Suguru did. And while Satoru wanted to win against Sukuna, maybe there's no way he'd want to have another chance in life where Suguru is not in.

I've processed the chapter and I'm going to say it was, like, weird. It was a weird feeling to see everyone suddenly alive and all of that and I'm sure that's what most of people wanted but the pacing is not it (for me)
I don't know what happened to Gege and his team to rush things. I understand he's not the only one writing jjk, the team also has to make decisions, but why making this one? They spent so many months with Sukuna vs Gojo battle, now things are rushing.
Maybe is my lack of understanding of how the manga world works. Because I get the feeling that lots of manga that ended these past years have been rushed too. Am I the only one? Is this a common manga thing?
I know there's still two chapters left in which I assume Gege's going to explain some political issues regarding the jujutsu world. Maybe I'm making assumptions, but I would've liked for him to deep in the character's trauma :') That's just a very biased opinion since I love psychology, and I know Gege is not one but yeah I would've liked this chapters to be about the characters and not about them laughing and doing whatever it was happening in 269
Now, overall, considering the whole jjk together, I think it's a really good manga! If I'm not wrong it's Gege's first and I'm amazed. Imagine jjk being your first, just wow. He has so so much potential as a writer and I'm sure jjk is a great experience for him to learn about writing characters and learn from his mistakes. I hope he writes more in the future! I loved it
So yeah this is just my silly opinion about this chapter and the pacing the manga suddenly took 🎀

I want to make a list of my JJK theories and opinions so we got (part 1 bc I know I'll have / remember more later).
-let gege cook, everyone will be fine, chill tf out (I have rambled about this in other posts so I'll just leave it at that here)
-Toji and Geto's worm is like banana fish (the drug from banana fish that makes someone delusional, easily suggestible, and violent until they self destruct. Geto lasted a lot longer than Toji under its influence bc he had his rituals of meditations, affirmations, and strong ethics. His cursed energy would have also fed the worm, though it had been trained to feed off of the soul when it was with toji). It eats away at their souls/BRAIN so Kenjaku can get into a new skull will little resistance. Remember when Geto was unconscious and Toji said the thing about monkeys? Then Geto kept repeating that kind of thing (but he never rly acted like he believed that. He was just trying to keep his daughters and innocent youth safe from becoming skapegoats like Rika was. He saw that the cult and the village would repeat their cycles and more would be hurt in the future. He couldn't redeem those adults so he killed them.) I go into this theory a good bit in my longest/first jjk fanfic, and I AM DYING for gege to confirm this. I also ofc think that Kenjaku set up the worm and Toji to find each other. Maybe by throwing it into the zenin curse pit.
-kenjaku hit Rika with his car, or at least manipulated someone else into doing it (which seems to be the theme here, the way he made geto and yuta fight, for example. It's suspicious that Yuta and Yuuji were both from Sendai. I'm sure that he was keeping an eye on them both. We see nanako and mimiko at yuuji's school in that one manga panel in the beginning.
-the prison realm can be used for time travel (since Gojo first got sealed I was expecting him to break out. And then I was expecting him to be so understimulated in there that he'd figure out how to warp time. Dude can already warp space, what's the difference?) and Hakari even suggested using the prison realm for time travel so EVERYTHING'S GOING TO BE FINE they just have to go as far as they can without using it first so they can learn what to do the next time, yeah? I also had a dream about this and Gojo told me that Sukuna didn't feel the time loop, but the rest of us knew it was our second time (at least) going back and trying to defeat him. Which doesn't mean that I'm right but it was nice ok 😭
Theories that have been proven right or wrong by now
-I've been saying from the beginning that Yuuji and Sukuna share a common ancestor and that's why he can be a vessel. I was right!! But I didn't know he was also born with a fingie
-sukuna has six eyes (this has since been disproven but I used to think so)
-the way that RCT works between two people
CHAPTER 261 SPOILERS ON THIS NEXT ONE but I hope ur caught up by now.
-yuta should use as many techniques as possible in Gojo's body bc when Gojo returns to it, then he will be able to learn them as well. Kenjaku was able to retain techniques from his previous bodies, so even if all he transfers is the copy technique, that's fkn useful too.
-there is no chemistry between Yuki and Choso. That concept feels fucking forced and gives me the ick so hard.
-yuki is a terrible influence. She has good intentions, but she isn't present enough to be helpful - showing up in shibuya after Mahito was absorbed, for example. Not keeping in touch with the sorcerers who were involved in that. Not to mention the shit with Geto. She started the whole "what kind of woman is your type" thing and it's her fault that todo beats people nearly to death for giving an answer that doesn't match his own stupid taste (it took several watches for me to forgive todo for beating up megumi tbh)
-todo is also Kenjaku's son, and possibly Yuki - tho yuki is more vibes than evidence. All of Kenjaku's confirmed kids have a strong resolve, and false memories with Yuuji. But I think that kenjaku, in a male body, would be a total slut. His motivation for anything is that maybe it'll be interesting, or funny, he's just here for a good time. I think that he wouldn't even know how many kids he has, and that by having an unknown number possibly out there, it would bring up unexpected sorcerers. The frame where kenjaku asks why don't you heal yourself and yuki says I don't want to... That feels confirmed for me but I know it isn't solid evidence.
-I think kenjaku set up yuki to meet todo bc that feels too sus as well but I forget my logic on that one lmaoooo everything is their fault tho
