"Aaron Amamiya," Sumire repeats with a dutiful nod — recording the name to memory. "It's not weird at all! It's pretty cool, actually. And what do you know, I'm also a transfer student!"

She smiles, swaying from foot to foot — "Oh, um, right! My name's Sumire Yoshizawa! I'm enrolled on an athletics scholarship, so maintaining my gymnastics skills are top priority ... so I hadn't really had the time to meet a lot of classmates yet." Pausing, she tilts her head: "Are you also a first-year, by chance ...?"

Sumire hadn't really picked up on Aaron's slight apprehensiveness, since she was mostly just overjoyed that she'd happened upon a fellow Shujin student! She doesn't recall seeing him in any of her classes, though — and it feels like she'd remember his face if he was there.

Like may have been the understatement of the year, but she was on the right track. Though he could only imagine what she thought he'd be using those parts for. Certainly nothing as extravagant as what he was actually planning for them.

'Should really clean out some of these extra bits. Not going to be able to finish the drone anytime soon, so they're really just taking up space-'

You could really do with cleaning it out in general. Doesn't make the best first impression to open it up to a cluttered mess-

'Hey, it's as organized as it can get given the circumstances!'

Circumstances that she's completely unaware of-

... Well, he had him there.

"Eh, don't worry about it. I've got the time to spare."

Honestly, he much preferred this to how he usually spent his time. At least this way he could help someone out without getting punched in the face-

He took back the spray, casually dropping it back into his bag before closing the zipper. He was similarly preparing to be on his way when she spoke up again. And his reaction was... somewhat complex.

On the one hand, there was the pleasant surprise of running into one of his peers on whim. But on the other... well, he didn't exactly have the best reputation at school. Having your record leaked, and getting tons of ludicrous rumors spread around will do that to you.

He did get a small smile out of her little maneuver, but he was still somewhat hesitant to answer her question. He didn't want to suddenly sour this little meet up with the extra baggage his rep had landed him.

Still... she hadn't recognized him off the bat, so... Maybe she hadn't heard? It was certainly possible, especially considering she'd accepted his help when he offered. And if that was the case, maybe the little bit of goodwill that earned him would keep her from buying into the rumors. The less people that did, the better.

So, after a slight pause, and with a bit of hesitance still visible on his face, he managed to respond:

"Y-yeah, I just transferred there back in April. Name's Aaron. Aaron Amamiya-"

"... And yeah, I know it's a little weird that I have an English name. It's from my mom's side of the family."

He felt a little awkward adding that last bit, but it was a rather common question, so he preferred to just address it out of the gate. That... and it'd hopefully steer the conversation away from any rumors that she might've just recalled-

Oh my...! That reminds me of when Joker got into Smash Bros and we all decided Bayonetta should be his mum. Love that for him. Not canon to my fic, but can you imagine...?

It was incredibly fascinating to him. Honestly, if knowledge of the multiverse was more widely known, this was the kind of subject that could have tons of theories and scientific journals speculating on how different yet similar the two of them were. He wasn't really qualified to try his hand at it, he was an engineer not a quantum physicist, but the topic was intriguing nonetheless.

"I usually just call him my roommate, or Felis catus if I'm feeling sassy. Still, to think I was actually right about him! I always knew there was something different about him, but for the longest time, I just thought I was crazy."

Morgana probably deserved his own species name, assuming he ever found out how he came to be. Though, what that name would be, he had no idea. Felis mona, maybe?

"He spends most of his time with Futaba on my world. He used to try to follow me around everywhere but... let's just say my method of travel isn't exactly feline friendly."

Though, he was still tempted to figure out a way to make it more tolerable for him. It'd be kinda awesome to carry him into battle and do some team-up attacks. Maybe he could even get his own little mask?

... nah, that probably wouldn't work out too well-

He could kinda relate on the family issues front. His uncle hates him ever since his arrest, and refuses to let his Aunt even talk to him. Not to mention, his mother's side of the family didn't approve of her moving to Japan, or of his father, and insisted she be buried back in England. And since his dad's only request was to be buried next to his wife, he can't visit either of their graves. At least... not easily.

"Ren, huh?"

That... was uncannily similar. And that wasn't the only thing.

"Heh- My Aunt actually calls me RenRen... Ryuji does too, but only because Akechi just had to tease me with it, and now he refuses to call me anything else-"

Honestly, as embarrassing as it was at the time, he'd gotten used to it. Though, he really wished his friend would stop yelling it in public-

"Eh, doesn't really matter what your name was originally. You say that's your name, then that's your name. Simple as that."

"Yeah, our parents are probably totally different people. It's interesting, though, how we still ended up so similar, despite everything."

Ren had a suspicion that there were a few more physical differences between them than just their eyes. But he wouldn't bring that up. That would make things more complicated and confusing.

"Oh, Mona hates being called a cat. He'll get really mad. And he can pick locks. I'm... not entirely sure how he does that without thumbs. But he's really good at it. It's nice to have him around to talk to. Though my dorm doesn't allow animals, so he's been staying with Haru lately. I miss having him around everyday... But yeah, he can definitely understand you."

He felt a little twinge of jealously as the other described his past. Part of it came from the idea of getting the chance to know Akechi sooner. But he knew the rest of it was because he envied having dead parents. It was awful, a horrible thing to think. But he couldn't help it. He would've greatly preferred no parents than the ones he had.

"...Try your best. Even you can't, even if he doesn't want you to, he deserves to have someone who won't give up on him..."

Ren paused for a moment. He didn't know whether he was more surprised at the differences in the two's names, or at their similarities.

"Oh, uh, not quite. I'm Amamiya Ren, but that's not my birth name. I changed it when I was put on probation." Well, officially, at least. He'd been calling himself 'Ren' for a lot longer than it had legally been his name. Not that most people called him that, of course.

I made a post about this earlier in the year focused entirely on Joker, but Persona parent headcanons are something I love a bunch.

Outside the meme-ness of Bayonetta, Katherine, or Catherine being Joker's mom, I've seen someone say his parents are Jun and Tatsuya which is really funny to me.

I've seen Ayase from Persona/Revelations Persona be sited as Ryuji's mom which I liked at first glance but I don't want my girl to have suffered like that.

Bonus shout out to the Hiiragis. I was convinced the dead woman from p4 was related to Alice for a bit.

The Yusuke, Naoto, Makoto (Yuki) cousin theory makes me strangely happy, mostly the idea of them doing the spiderman thing in Q2.

i’ve been throwing around a dmc persona 5 / general persona au & joker’s biological dad is the “fiend with twenty faces” / arsène who is basically literary arsène except a demon. which is to say he’s an asshole who simultaneously thinks he’s better then humanity but is incredibly envious of them, haha. hes a thief and a self proclaimed “gentleman” & heard sparda had half human twins and was like damn i shoulda thought of that so he fucked around with humans until he got jokers mother pregnant but did NOT make contact with her past that (he was curious what the child would do)… joker didn’t know he was a cambion for. a while. it was a pretty distressing way to grow up. his mom is freaked the fuck out by him AND he’s sort of blatant evidence of an affair, lol.

yu’s probably in a similar boat but honestly i think the circumstances of his creation were more deliberate and i haven’t quite decided what’s going on over there in the grand scheme of adapted plotlines. the p3 death twins (minato and kotone) had death sealed inside of them ala canon but natural human births.

jokers got black hair that’s just a little too perfectly void to be normal and gold eyes, yu’s hair and eyes are both silver.

the velvet room is a neutral entity…. exists in its pocket of purgatorio ala bayonetta’s concept of it?

I was reading a thread and you said his mother British, and her name Cereza...so he's not just a spiderman AU - but also Bayo's son too? Dont' tell me next thing he's Vincet from Catherine's son /j.

She isn't actually Bayonetta, though she is named after her and does look like her. It's a reference to a joke from when Joker got added to Smash about him being Bayo's son. Thought it'd also work nicely as a way to explain why Aaron is bilingual, as I wanted him to be able to interact with other Spider-People, who are usually native English speakers.

His mom was a nurse who moved to Japan for college, and to get away from her very controlling family, which is where she met Aaron's father Akira (a reference to Joker's name in the manga, which does make his full name Akira Amamiya which sounds stupid, but originally his last name was Aikman after the Spider-Man Aaron gets his name from. I just never changed it after I changed his last name-).

She was a very kind and caring person, someone who wanted to help everyone she could, a trait she passed down to her son.

When she died, her family insisted she be buried in her home town, and Akira's will only stated he be buried next to his wife, so they're both buried in Britain where Aaron can't easily visit them, something that pains him greatly.

As a quick aside, her looking like Bayo does meet that any time Aaron meets the witch herself, he will mistake her for his mother come back from the dead, which will freak the hell out of him.

Follow-up on my last post: You cannot tell me Joker isn’t Bayonetta’s adopted child. You can’t. I’m now imagining Bayonetta making contact after the events of P5R and her promising to be the healthy, supportive, deicide-positive, lesbian motherly figure that Joker never had and his real parents never lived up to and they spent the rest of eternity slaying gods in the most extra ways possible and inviting the rest of the Phantom Thieves over for Sunday dinner. This is all a headcanon and you cannot change my mind.

Fly Me to the Moon Prologue

The two men walked close together as they made their way through the crowded sidewalk, gripping each other’s hands as they made their way through the streets of Tokyo as children in costumes ran around, Halloween was in full swing. Their lovely penthouse apartment was awaiting them, along with their little bundle of joy. Goro Akechi and his husband Ren Amamiya had been married for nearly five years. It has been ten years since their days as the great Phantom Thieves, Joker and Crow. Now they were happily married to each other, with Goro a prominent detective for the Tokyo police force, while Ren became a Crime Analyst, aiding his husband in his work. 

Three years ago, after long hours of debating, the two decided that they wanted to have a child. Haru Okumura agreed to act as a surrogate for them, and after nine months, they had their precious daughter, Nyoko, their little treasure. Today was her second birthday, and now that they were off from work, they were going to have a grand party for her. Haru and all the other Phantom Thieves were going to be there later that night, after their own children enjoyed the wonderful festivities of trick or treating and costume parties. They knocked on the door of their apartment, and then opened it. “Akane-chan, we’re home!” 

The young, dark haired girl grinned at them as she looked up from the movie shelf she was organizing. “Hey, you guys! Nyoko, your daddys are here!”

“Daddy! Papa!” a little voice cried as a small girl with wild, cinnamon colored curls tied into twin tails and wide gray eyes full of joy. She ran to them from where she was playing with her favorite stuffed cat, an imitation of Metaverse Morgana, the same cat purring on the back of the couch. Little Nyoko raised her arms up to her fathers in a clear sign for ‘up’. Ren scooped her up, nuzzling his nose against hers, Goro moving over and kissing her forehead. 

The little girl giggled and reached over and placed her little hands on Goro’s cheeks. 

Akane snickered as she stood. “She’s been watching Nightmare Before Christmas all day, today. It took me forever to get her to sing something that wasn’t ‘Kidnap the Sandy Claws’.” 

Ren laughed as he tickled his daughter’s belly, making her giggle and kick her little legs. “Of course. You love Halloween, don’t you, our little Treasure!” 

“Ha’wo’ween!” cheered the little toddler, throwing her hands in the air. Akechi laughed and took Nyoko into his arms and moving to the couch. “You’d best head on home, Akane-Chan. Or else your father would have our heads.” 

The teen laughed, grabbing her shoulder bag with the homework she worked on during the day during naptime. “Yeah, yeah, still, I’ll see you guys later tonight for the party.”

Akechi ruffled Akane’s hair as he set Nyoko on the couch. “Yes, we’ll see you then.” 

She waved as she walked out of the apartment while the two fathers cuddled up close with their daughter. 

“Nyoko, we have a special present for you,” Akechi said softly, reaching into the pocket of his gray coat. 

The little girl straightened, her silver colored eyes lighting up. “Present?  Now? No party?”

Ren shook his head, “No, no party. This is a very special present.” Goro opened the box and revealed a golden, heart-shaped locket with filigree engravings. The little girl’s eyes widened as Ren opened the locket, showing that inside there was a picture of Goro and Ren. Nyoko’s eyes widened in awe as Ren removed the locket from the box and clasped the piece of jewelry around her neck. “Happy Birthday, Nyoko.” 

Morgana jumped onto their laps, meowing happily as he nuzzled the little girl. The two men laughed at the antics of their child and the excited feline.They were so happy together, but it was not to last for very long. 

The door to the apartment was kicked open, with the sound of gunshots ringing through the room. 

Goro jumped forwards, grabbing a gun from a hidden compartment under the coffee table. “Ren, take Nyoko and get her out of here!” 

Morgana yowled as he ran to attack the men and give the family enough of a chance to run, only to be shot mid-leap.

“Morgana!” screamed Ren.

“Go!” Goro shouted at him, his amber eyes glowing red as he aimed his pistol at the assailants only for one of them to shoot first, the rubber bullet striking the former detective prince right between the eyes and knocking him unconscious. Ren made a noise like a battle cry and dove for Goro’s pistol, only for him to be knocked out by the butt of one of their rifles.

Nyoko was crying by now, crawling out of her father’s arms and trying to wake him by shaking his shoulder. “Daddy! Daddy, git up!” One of the men grabbed the little girl by the back of her shirt and placed an oxygen mask over her face. The little girl whimpered as she inhaled the gas, making her fall asleep.

Goro Akechi and Ren Amamiya handcuffed and dragged out of the apartment while Nyoko was tucked into a small duffle bag and carried out so that nobody knew where they were taking her with the intention that no one would ever find her again. Or at least, so they thought
