Sergeant Ronson Age: Early thirties Home Planet: Current Training: PDF
Observations: An amiable young man, hailing from one of the planet’s many local farmsteads. One of the longest-serving members of the PDF, his own career has been rather ignoble and unambitious thus far. Whilst many around him have been promoted or lost, Ronson appears content to simply keep his head down and work hard.
Likes: Family meals, Off-road driving, Practical jokes Dislikes: Shaving, Repair work, Emotional honesty Hobbies: Gardening, Chicanery
Guardsman Smith Age: Unknown Home Planet: Unknown Training: Unknown/PDF
Observations: Clearly not local. Nor especially forthcoming in conversation with strangers. Ready to assist their comrades and fight for this planet regardless. Sets a fine example to others, and keeps a clean bunk.
Likes: PT/Cross country, Feline units, Card games Dislikes: Questions, Helmets, High humidity Hobbies: Educational holo-vids, Journalling

Quartermaster Kate is a native of the planet that the PDF defend.
Having completed her education, as a young trained accountant, she joined the local Departmento Munitorum to benefit from the healthcare and relative job security provided.
Kate rules the supply depot with an acerbic manner and constant awareness that she's much better at filling out the forms than the people submitting them to her. Unsurprisingly, she's usually short of company.
That is, until the arrival of anyone she can't exactly order to leave...

Hello! Hello! I’m not dead, and neither is PDF! The very long and short of it is that in 2019 I caught the precursor to Covid19 and it basically fried my circuits completely.
The GOOD news is that scripts were written, plot arcs were worked on, and what started as a whimsical gag-a-week bit of shitpost has grown into a fairly robust bit of dark humour.
Please stick around, follow here, and @Commissar_Benny on Twitter for updates regarding our brave defenders of mankind. PDF will launch once a month of updates is complete, which is shaping up to be early winter-time.

Are you the CONCERN guy
Hello yes that’s a meme I drew! good spot. one medal o7
I guess I really have the market cornered on monotone blue sketchy guard cmsrs idk
“Fun” fact: This is not PDF commissar but PDF commissar is totally rocking those sideburns and emoti-skull stayed on as well. Edgy Scar™ sold separately.
So I see this poor guy gets around a LOT, and I have to say I’m cool with it. He’s just out there, quietly worrying about you. Because he can take it, because he’s not a hero. He’s a silent guardian, a watchful protector, a giant dork.

What's this?
Planetary Defence Farce will be a weekly 40K comic centred around an unlucky PDF facing a Chaos incursion. It has a recurring cast, and serves as a mixture of gallows humour and slice of life.
The shortest summary I can give of PDF is that I had a series of strange ideas, discussed them with a friend and still wanted to draw them after the holidays.
I then had a few more thoughts, an idea for an ending scene. So that meant needing an over arcing theme, and we fired out quite a few puns between us.
If it made us giggle, it made it into the comic scripts.
Just to have fun while being grimdark. That's all there is to it.
It will formally launch when I have a four week comic buffer. With one strip a week and bonus material later each week. At the moment this blog exists to test the theme layout and I'm very embarrassed that anyone found it.
Edit: For the curious, PDF will always be completely safe for work. Assuming you work somewhere that's chill with you looking at war cartoons. No cussin, no smut and no weird real life topical parodies. I prefer my drama and violence to be fictional. Don't we all?
