A really nice moment from Tsuyu.
Something you see a LOT of in this event and her magical girl story is restraint. Tsuyu is kind of interesting to me in that she’s a little bit boring. That probably sounds weird... What I mean by it is that I feel like she’s very much wrapped up in her duties to the point that her true feelings don’t bubble up to the surface very often.
Obviously we know some things about her. She’s nice, she’s agreeable, and she’s trouble and unsure what is the best thing to do to help her people. She has more power than most but also feels very powerless.
But there are instances where anger rises up from her that are very interesting to me. I think it also helps knowing that her and Chizuru’s tale will end... badly. Not in the event itself, but we know that in the future (during a part of arc 2 main story flashback) they will have a massive fight-- Chizuru’s dad will kill Tsuyu’s dad, and Tsuyu will believe that she was betrayed and will curse Chizuru while turning into a witch.
It gives her character a really sad and sombre overhang throughout the event. She’s trying so hard to do what is right by everyone, to pick the smartest moves and to avoid letting her emotions cloud her vision. She’s walking a tight pathway with little margin for error... and in the end, it must feel like she made the wrong choice. And this anger that she’s concealed has bubbled out.
It’s possible that I’m reading too much into this of course, but I hope it’s true, because it’d give her character a little more flavor besides just “the nice smart princess who wants to help everyone,” you know?

I just finished watching all of the currently translated Puella Historia events (side note: ow) and I find it interesting how the role of the girls sent back into the past differs between them
(spoilers)
Tsuruno and Sana interact with and befriend Tsuyu and Chizuru, but stay in a side roll in their story, mostly just working to keep the past the same (this is also the event with the most concrete timeline for the magical girls involved, so this is understandably given a lot of stress)
The Tokime Clan have about the same if not more focus than Ebony I'd say- they also directly help her in many ways up to and including preventing her from becoming a witch, and literally convince Nemu to let them meddle because "what if that's what we're supposed to do?"
Promised Blood could probably be edited out from Olga and Gunhild's story and it wouldn't make much difference? They do have a roll in the story of having to deal with the pain of knowing what's going to happen and not being able to stop it, but in the end it ends up as a sideplot (not a bad thing! it gives the sisters a good center stage)
and Folklore basically gets dragged into the plot no warning first thing after they arrive, and has to figure it out from there (which is very interesting for the faction that mostly works from the shadows in the main plot)

Brief Peace of Mind
Obtainability: Limited to the “Battle Shamanesses of Kamihama” event gacha. This is event bonus memoria and should be kept in case of a rerun.
Single Effect: Charged Attack Damage Up [15%] & Blast Damage Up [35%] & Flame Attribute Attack Up [17.5%] (Self / 3 Turns)
MLB Effect: Charged Attack Damage Up [17.5%] & Blast Damage Up [40%] & Flame Attribute Attack Up [20%] (Self / 3 Turns)
Effect Definitions:
Charged Attack Damage Up will cause the target to cause more damage from their Accele or Blast discs if used after a charge disc. You’ll want to use this memoria on the character who is using the charged attack, not the character(s) setting up the charge discs.
Blast Damage Up is a straightforward buff that means Blast Discs will deal more damage. Blast Damage Up has a capped percentage at 100%.
Flame Attribute Attack Up will increase a unit’s base attack stats when they use a Flame-attribute attack. It functions similarly to Attack Up and even stacks with it, but it won’t contribute to Attack Up’s Percentage Ceiling.
TLDR: “Brief Peace of Mind” is a specialized memoria for a specific Kimochi battle. Average players shouldn’t feel too compelled to acquire it, but Hyper-Whales are going to want it in order to get as much damage out as possible in the Moving Aquamarine Heel Kimochi.
Review: This review is a little late for the Moving Aquamarine Heel Kimochi, but maybe you can take it into consideration for whenever it’s next run.
“Brief Peace of Mind” is tailor-made for specific Kimochi battles. The Moving Aquamarine Heel in particular prioritizes Charged Blast attacks, and given that it’s a Forest enemy, you also obviously want to use Flame damage dealers against it. Equipping this memoria on a unit like Doppel Kyoko or Chizuru means dealing a stupidly high amount of damage for those three turns. Yes. THREE TURNS.
However, before going into why this memoria is such Whale bait, let’s first look at what it will offer players who don’t give a shit about doing well in Kimochi. Is it still good? Is it a must-have?
Nah.
There are many better active memoria that will give you more of a damage bonus than this if you are just looking for a memoria in casual play. What you don’t see on “Brief Peace of Mind” are more generic buffs like Attack Up, Damage Up, or Damage Increase. This is because the Kimochi battle assumes you will be near-capped on all three. Because you’re capped on those three effects, you need to look to outside sources for possible increased damage, which is where this memoria comes into play.
But this isn’t going to be an issue outside of the highly specialized Kimochi fight. Even unlimited memoria can be better to equip than this one. So if you don’t care about Kimochi (or at least, getting in the very top scoring), you shouldn’t feel sad about not having this memoria. You’ll do just as fine if not better using something like “Even if I Take a Wrong Path” or “Mami of the Land of Sweets”.
Now, onto the Kimochi. This memoria assumes perfect play and a Whale team. Even so, you want to take a look at what buffs you’ll be getting. Popular units I saw in play for the Moving Aquamarine Heel Kimochi included Fairytale Mifuyu, First Sunrise Shizuka, Chizuru, and Doppel Kyoko (amongst others). What do you notice among these characters from their Connects to their Magia to their Doppels?
A whole hell of a lot of Flame Attribute Attack Up and a hell of a lot of Blast Damage Up.
Flame Attribute Attack Up won’t cap alongside Attack Up, so it makes sense to stack that. But Blast Damage Up is what can be the problem here. It caps at 100%, and a character can very easily hit that cap just with all the passives they get.
Let’s assume you’re using Chizuru. She already starts off with 66.5% Blast Damage Up from her Spirit Enhancement alone. Her Doppel will give her an additional 60% Blast Damage Up, blowing her past the Blast Damage Up Cap. Clearly if you use “Brief Peace of Mind”, you want to use it either before her Doppel or if you just want that extra Flame Attribute Attack Up + Charged Attack Damage Up. However, that’s just Chizuru-- if you were lucky enough to get First Sunrise Shizuka and Fairytale Mifuyu, both units also give passive Blast Damage Up SE to their allies, minimizing the gap for the Blast Damage Up cap and you.
The benefit of “Brief Peace of Mind” is that it provides so many buffs on one memoria, all at reasonable percentages which turn it into an overall powerhouse. However you should take care that you’re not capped at any of those buffs, otherwise you might actually be better off using something else.
When it comes to Charged Attack Damage Up, this reviewer admittedly has some blind spots. From what I understand, the effect has diminishing returns at a certain point, so it’s not necessary to try and stack it too high. It can’t hurt to have it though.
The very last thing to consider would be the Max-Awakened, Max-Leveled passive DEF stats of this memoria. At 2250 DEF, this qualifies as a Stat Stick. Stat Sticks are Active memoria that beef up a character’s passive DEF through its stats, not its effects. These kind of memoria are helpful in Mirrors, where some Actives serve little more than, well, “stat sticks.” This blog considers anything about 2200 DEF a Stat Stick. Note that the memoria needs to be Max Awakened to qualify as a Stat Stick.
Overall this is a Whale-tier memoria tailor-made for the Charge-Blast Kimochi. You don’t need it unless you’re a whale or a player who REALLY cares about getting as much damage out as possible in a Kimochi battle.
This can be used on Flame-Blaster supports.

SANA EVER THE OPTIMIST
let’s be real, Sana just wanted to check out the prison and see what kind of weird and wacky torture implements they got down there.

ITS THE FLAME BLORBO
ALSO do YOUR ships have this kind of introduction?
Some romances start out with the classic “trip and fall into their arms and gaze lovingly into their eyes.”
Some ships start out with you yelling “WHO THE HELL ARE YOU” at some random princess you have no respect for.

this is so freaking cute. Just imagine Sana running around the room throwing shit around!
I mean, it also feels kind of unnecessary because like. I’m sure Tsuruno could just transform as a magical girl and prove that she’s one...? But hey the imagery of this is so good (and it sets something interesting up later I think) so it works for me!

I think that Tsuruno’s response to Tsuyu’s musings (seen here) is pretty interesting.
Obviously she’s responding to Tsuyu but it’s hard not to read this as Tsuruno thinking about the current situation with Iroha.
It must have felt pretty helpless watching Iroha ascend like that with nothing she and the Mikazuki family could do to help, besides regular sakura tree picnics and stuff. And then this all happened... She’s “helping” Iroha but also she’s not really solving the issue, is she? Must be rough, especially when you consider how active a person Tsuruno is. She’s not the kind of person who wants to wait around-- not that she’s an impatient idiot (she’s pretty smart!) but that she’s the kind of person who wants to be doing things, wants to put action in the plan. Sitting around, unsure of what she’s doing is even helping or not, must feel pretty relatable and a little painful for her.

ITS TIME
bruh being a part of MUT (translation discord) makes some of this super cool. Like, it’s the little things-- that logo! That obviously wasn’t from the game! Someone had to MAKE that!
No one had to do it, right? Like that doesn’t really impact our experience that much? But someone still did it. Because MUT is thorough as fuck.
Like seriously, we’re spoiled. If you like the liveblog, my only request is that you watch the event on youtube and leave a nice comment. The translators do actually read them and I know they appreciate them!
Anyways, back to the actual story.

Just further proof that Chizuru is closely listening to what Tsuyu has to say, but Tsuyu doesn’t listen to Chizuru. She doesn’t even take the bait that Chizuru is laying out for her-- she doesn’t ask “what have we forgotten about” or try to refute that the Mizuna are “heartless.”
Tsuyu’s already made up her mind on the matter, and she has no interest in what Chizuru herself has to say about it. Nothing Chizuru could say here would sway her.
I think it’s interesting though to follow Tsuyu’s line of thought here at the end too. “I’m going to defeat that Demon, and then you’ll have to apologize to the people.” Does she think that the Witch is the one responsible for the famine..? There’s also no mention of killing Chizuru, just having her apologize. This era is pretty bloody so it’s telling that Tsuyu isn’t saying “murder Chizuru,” but man, make her apologize?? What goody-two-shoes act is this.
