who is tommy a battery for? is that how it works?

what happens if a battery gets close to another non-battery, such as the giants or just another human?

how exactly did tommy get shunned? was everyone against him or were there people defending him?

are the giants gentle or intimidating? will this change?

as a battery, does tommy have any powers?

will tommy need to "charge" and if so how?

Ok so in the Battery Au as I said there are the magic “Users” and then there are “Batteries”. Every magic user is connected with a battery who acts as their power source. Whether you’re a battery or not is determined at birth and is completely random (meaning that the battery and magic user could honestly hate each other).

A magic user can perform some basic magic/spells by themselves but for anything large they need extra energy, hence where their battery comes in (also why Batteries are called Batteries since they provide power)

In this au people who are “Batteries” get the short end of the stick. They provide energy for their partner and are the reason why actual magic can even be used in the first place. They normally don’t get any of the credit tho.

So far I have it where the only person who can access a batteries energy is their partner BUT it could be interesting conflict if someone who wasn’t a batteries partner could access their power.

Tommy is about 16-17 in this and he got kicked out of his village not only cause he was a Battery but because he wasn’t even connected to anyone in the village (which in their eyes made him worthless).

I definitely want the Giants to be the rest of SBI and I’m torn between having Tubbo/Ranboo be humans or giants.

Tommy’s partner is either going to be Wilbur or Tubbo (maybe Philza).

So far batteries don’t have any powers and don’t need to do anything to recharge (other than just rest) but anything I say is subject to change and that is a very interesting idea!!

When a battery gets near another non-battery or human nothing happens but I imagine that a strong enough battery could radiate energy and effect the people around them. (I might change it to make something happen when a battery meets a non-battery this is just what I have for now.)

Nobody has any special designs as of now!

So since batteries can’t use the actual magic they only give the energy for it to be used there are definitely some people who…take advantage of that.

In Tommy’s village it wasn’t that bad but batteries were definitely seen as lesser and they got talked over a lot. In some places it gets worse. Imagine they use the energy to create a spell where their battery can’t leave or make them have to in listen to what they say. Normally batteries and magic users are kinda like platonic soulmates in a soulmate au where their personalities play off each other and they get along great but some batteries quickly grow to hate their partner.

Now there are some places where batteries are highly respected, in some case respected more than their partners, and it’s common to always ask permission from them to use their energy for magic. (Or at least give them a heads up when you’re about to do it). Phil, Wilbur, and Techno fall into this latter category.

At first, nobody realizes that Tommy is Wilbur’s battery and things go as normal. Slowly but surely Tommy warms up to the three giants and they start to become attached to the small teen.

When Tommy finds out he’s Wilbur’s battery….things don’t go so well.

He loses all the progress he’s made with them. He’s heard some stories from the others in the village about batteries being overused and mistreated and he’s rightly terrified. Wilburs so big he doesn’t even have a chance to defend himself. He’s also never heard of a giant and a human being partners.

Anyways he justifiably freaks out and maybe starts to have a panic attack? I think Phil would be the one to calm him down and afterwards they talk and the giant reveals that he is Techno’s battery. Tommy is stunned because he’d never be able to guess. Techno treats Phil with so much respect and Phil is clearly the leader of the group. Phil also tells Tommy that even though he’s a battery he can still learn some magic and Tommy excitedly agrees to have Phil teach him!

Anyways that’s just some more background for the au. This isn’t one of the ones I’m writing for currently and I don’t have that much else planned for it yet.

So @somerandomdudelmao made a version of their sona in a dystopia (inspired by @tapakah0 doing the same to theirs) and the person in this ask named the robot C.A.S.5 and I thought, ‘well then there’s at least four other C.A.S. units out and about in the world’ leading to this being the end result! It was a lot of fun to come up with the different customizations each C.A.S. unit has.

also, the design for C.A.S.4 (Cash) was partially inspired by @mobiitez post.
