Fruitcake kid! Lofty is a bit sheltered on account of Sprout being overprotective, but despite this they’re very outgoing, trying to make friends wherever they go!

Also I contemplated not giving them frosting since I imagine Cosmo just. Pulled a tray of sugar cookies out of the oven and they were just there but I decided that they just got the frosting at some point.

Shellcraft! Hewie likes to make and take mementos from everywhere he goes, whether is be in the form of a picture or a cool looking rock, and keep it within his pages. He likes to craft things for his pages with Scraps and his Uncle and he and talk about his everyday life with anyone who will listen.

She just wants to make her parents proud, even if that involves going down the elevator secretly while Glisten isn’t looking, and handing Dandy everything she finds. I imagine Dandy puts all the art she makes in his shop, it’s just behind him whenever he comes up to sell people stuff.

Finn Wilikers I have a theory that Barnaby Wilikers (Finn's Toy Fish) got Finn's last name when he was thinking about the first and last name of his toy. So I think Finn's full name is Finn Wilikers. У меня есть теория, что Барнаби Уиликерс (Игрушечная рыбка Финна) получил фамилию Финна, когда тот думал о том, как назвать свою игрушку. Так что, я думаю, полное имя Финна - Финн Уиликерс.

- He tends to regress around 3-6 as he's a very active and outgoing little. He doesn't really care to hide it much either.

- Even when he's little, he still absolutely loves to tell fish puns, it's just that sometimes they start making less sense the smaller or more sleepy he gets. He also cracks himself up with his own jokes and it's very cute to see.

- Finn likes to try and play with Shrimpo specifically, but it stresses Shrimpo out because he isn't good with littles (and he's actively fighting off regression himself). But little Finn doesn't understand that and still tries to play with him to 'make him feel better.' At the very least, Shrimpo doesn't yell at him when he's little like this, it'd make him feel really bad if he did.

- He likes to play with bath toys a lot! Because of how often he spills the water in his bowl, he prefers his toys to be water safe so he doesn't accidentally ruin them. Sometimes he likes to put his bath toys in his bowl so Barnaby Whilikers can have friends/toys to play with! Bathtime is one of his favorites.

- Finn's favorite non-bathtime toy is one of those wind up fishing toys where you can catch the fish with magnets. He loves playing it with others, and even loses on purpose if he thinks the other little might get upset.

- Even though he only drinks water, he does like to drink it in a baby bottle on occasion, even if he regresses a little 'old' for a bottle. It especially comes in handy at night when he gets sleepy, it prevents a good bit of spills.

- Instead of cuddling with a plushie in bed, he has one of those big inflatable dolphin floaties he likes to hug like a stuffie. He's named her Bubbie.

- His main caregiver is Teagan, who he sees as a mother. She may not do a lot of playing or pretend, but he loves her cuddles and reading voice.

- His main playmates are Shelly and Razzle and Dazzle. Shelly often feels comfortable and seen with Finn, and Finn likes to play an older brother role with her. Finn likes to help her read her favorite dino books, and he also likes drawing dinosaurs with her. As for Razzle and Dazzle, sometimes it can be difficult with their differing ages (and Dazzle's aversion to Finn's puns) but Finn loves to play with both of them. The conjoined twins love to help him make up elaborate and whimsical stories for playtime. He tries his best to make sure both feel included, he feels like picking a favorite would be unfair to them.

I'm actually getting very excited to share Geckos, Automata. I've been sick the past few days and have an event next Saturday, but I've been chipping away at editing in-between things. I had to rewrite some chapters toward the end. They were rather rushed. Not that I mind short chapters. Kind of relief to have chapters that are rarely over 2k and even some lower than 1k after Seasons, where I think the average chapter is 5k... (I should check that sometime.)

Geckos, Automata will probably be under 75k by the time I'm done editing and rewriting sections. That's refreshing. I'm so glad it's a short story! I can write short stories? WHO KNEW?! (So many of mine are long. Nearly every story in the dragon universe is going to be 250k+ on average, given what I have planned for them...) Anyway. Life is kind of weird. I am not finding work that I can do with my health, and transportation is an issue until I have a job. (I want to buy my mom's car off of her before my dad decides to trade it in when they go to get her a new one. The car was T-boned when a truck ran a stop sign, and the place that fixed it did a shit job so my parents had to put down another $1600 to further fix issues that were ignored. I would give them more money than a trade at this point, and the car is sufficient for minor errands.) Here's hoping my writing takes off, since apparently my health is just a shit show. But I do have coverage so I'm slowly but surely making appointments. Next month, I see a doctor about getting tested for Sjogren's and other issues. I've been going to the library in the next town over, and I plan to get two more library cards (one for the city nearby, one for my town) soon. I checked out Wolfsong by TJ Klune and need the rest of the books, the city has them but one of them has a huge waiting list... I am in love with this series! Anyway. That's all. Have a picture of "my" cats. (Roommate's, technically, but they're sharing.)

They are Barnaby and Mildred (yes those are OC names as well, but listen) and we call them BB and Millie. Or Princess Millie, Reverse Card (he has a spot on his back that's white, a spot on his white stomach that is black), Silly Millie, and like... a thousand other things. BB is complaining bc I put their fishing rod toy on the ceiling fan for a few minutes to go do something real quick before I went back to playing with them... (It's a ribbon. I didn't want them getting wrapped up in it.) Millie is my best friend. ;A; I'm slowly convincing her my lap is a place to snuggle on. BB is the most hyperactive cat I have ever met and likes my roommate more and thinks I'm just a food/treat dispenser and the person who should play even when I'm TRYING TO EAT AFTER PLAYING WITH THEM TWO STRAIGHT HOURS OMG SLOW DOWN CHILD I BEG YOU (They're 2+ years old and former outdoor kitties, we adopted them back in January. BB actually has the TNR clipped ear, hard to see in this photo but his gorgeous ear, I hate that they did that to it... ;A; )

Don’t really have an actual Halloween post but uh

I do have another batch of fankid doodles, because why not

Building off the idea that Lofty was born before the Gardenview shutdown. Sprout refused to leave them with anyone other than Cosmo, so if both were working one would take care of them while working. This led to many questions from patrons.

Vee has her own kid but uh…the first few times she tried to make them things didn’t go well. It took five attempts for one of them to actually come alive and one more attempt for them to live for more than an hour. She started naming them after attempt 2.

Just a sleepy Astro and Andromeda.

Honestly thinking of changing Barnaby’s parents from Finn and Shrimpo to Finn and Boxten (idk I’m a multishipper). Either way neither of them expected parenthood to be that hard after Cosmo and Sprout took to it surprisingly well. They used to work with kids, it couldn’t be that hard. It didn’t take long for them to realize that those two were either really good at pretending to not be tired or Lofty was just a really calm baby.

Flutter can’t hold Comma unfortunately on account of no hands :(. I think I’ll draw her wearing a swaddle with Comma in it later but for now Gigi will just have to hold him up to her.

I don’t have an exact age for most of the kids, just vague notions of ‘this one is older than that one’. Though I’ll always say Lofty is the oldest, the other oldest kids are Andromeda, Rosy Posy, Barnaby and Lulu (who I have not drawn). Percy is the youngest…not counting the two kids who I have not sorted out the ages of and have not even mentioned the names of (might as well do that now, Debbie the Muffin and Sunny the Betta fish) he’s just a few months old, a lil guy. The other youngest kids are Becky, Finn Jr, Pearl and Gabe

The Postman eagerly grabs his colorful yet messy bag with the stack of letters and shuffles through them, looking for the right one. He finally finds it and pulls it out with a triumphant smile.

"Ah, here it is!" he exclaims, opening the letter with excitement. "This is Julie, the teacher in our world. She used to sell fish for a living, now she teaches kids how to read and write! Apparently, all of the children loved her and Ms. Julie loved them aswell"

The drawing of Julie that he holds up features a cheerful woman with long, flowing yellow hair and a kind smile. She's surrounded by a group of children, all of whom are smiling and playing with toys.

"Of course, we've been making progress!" the Postman continues, pointing to another drawing. "This is Home! our toy maker. He's been working hard to create new and exciting toys for the children. And over here is Barnaby, hes a ferryman and loves to tell jokes. He sometimes make fun of julie for telling bad jokes."

As the Postman points to each drawing in turn, Mixer Wally feels a strange sensation creeping over him. It's a sense of unease, as though there's something off about this whole situation. The colors seem too bright, the smiles too wide, the world too perfect. He can't put his finger on it, but something feels... wrong.

And as the drawings continue, that feeling only grows stronger. The more he looks at them, the more he feels like he's seeing something he shouldn't. Something that's just out of reach, something that's not quite right.

"And this is Fredinburg," the Postman says, holding up the final drawing. It's a picture of an island filled with snow yet colorful houses. "This is where I live and deliver mails! Isn't that wonderful?"

But to Mixer Wally, it feels anything but wonderful. In fact, it feels... errie...

As the drawings go on, the Postman notices a sense of unease in his friend. Mixer Wally looks at each drawing with a mix of concern and confusion, as if he's trying to remember something that he's forgotten...

origin:

✦ There is nothing much to be said on his actual origin, only the fact that he could have been born in 1970s. It could be said from his ability to recall some historical events that he may have or may have not experienced; not to be able to mention perfectly recall fashion trends in few countries that he used to reside in.

✦ It’s a fact that his family are all creatures of water; but had a connection to another sea creature that lived among humans (that was most likely a siren, to begin with) and offered assistance, if they where interested.

The family would do their best to have the siren raise Barnaby so he was capable of adapting himself into the human realm. Of a hassle for years, It came to success. He was able to talk human, specifically -- Russian. A bit of English as secondary language, with basic knowledge of it.

Being the age of child (10-11), he capable of forming himself human legs. While there was work to actually functioning as a human and even learn to walk, he was capable of talking as a human. It have impressed his parents the most, and they supported him during the development and process to adapt to the human realm. While they worried about humans -- They where also fascinated in them to a high degree. Wanting to interact with them; but also choosing their life of sea and wanting to stick to it. They came to the conclusion -- That if their son wanted to live at sea instead to reside in the human realm, they will accept his decision. Loving aquatic parents are supportive of all his made choices. -------------

While majority of things have been explained in his biography when It comes to what he has studied, how have he reached to the point of studies among land citizens and how he have chosen the field of mechanics -- There hasn’t been much say to WHY he chose this particular field. You would think a merman would consider a field involved with water? He have considered a profession as an underwater entertainer, he despises the idea of it, in reality. He wasn’t much of a fan of children at the time, well aware that the profession he could take in would involve kids.  What brought to mechanics and pyrotechnics? The interest of solving a puzzle, in a sense. During the year of him studying a his final (and only) year at high school, he has met a companion that would be taking much interest to engineering. While his friend would be focused more on aerospace engineering specifically, the fish’s curiosity has been taken more for mechanical engineering. There was something fascinating about being able to drive mechanical cars with your own two legs. Which was coming from a merman who was taught to walk many years ago from that moment, but It never came to his mind to actually take focus on machinery with wheels. Let alone, be able to drive them. Plus, the fact that he could see that you would have to need to assemble miniature (to large) pieces to form into something that would function? Inner puzzle solver has come to seek for that.  ✦ When It comes to pyrotechnics, the interest was from earlier years -- When he viewed fireworks along with his siren of a tutor. But to see that there was an actual field involved with them? He partook the field just as soon he have graduated from studies as a mechanical engineer. [[ Current residence -- A nicely built, incredibly large garage that has partly functionality as a domain. It does suit him best to live there due to instant availability to assist someone without needing to travel a distance. Not to mention, this garage was the location where he started his days as a mechanic, serving as an assistant before being given a degree. It later escalated to -- Him purchasing the garage himself. To his luck, the previous mechanic had some close relation to his young student (father and son -- like) that he had little struggle to purchase this building. The garage sets into two parts. First part on the left side and built an additional wall for the sake of privacy. The right side of the place has become his work shop. ---------------

There isn’t that much to speak of this part -- He has a good relationship with his relatives, has good manners when It comes to respect of adults. An open nature tends to bring him an audience that is drawn by his, semi compulsive natura. Speaking of romantic relationships? He is fairly open to any personality of an individual, with having to be able to adapt to any type. More likely infatuated with people that may present a timid, neutral nature, If not ominous.  ---------------

It could be guessed by already that his nature would be incredibly cheerful, if not fiery at times. Appearance wise, It is alone to say enough that he behaves as he presents.

Chaotic at times, friendly, and even then he would show a good nature. During professional conversations he would deem to be more seeking to reassure the other individual to have them comfortable communicating with them.

Although -- There is a minor issue when It comes to his behavior and personality altogether. At times his youthful mentality lead him to be incredibly naive, thus allowing people to take advantage of It, If given the opportunity.

Be it to show Barnaby a bad form or show of influence, or have him be with an unpleasant crowd with ill intentions -- Either towards him, or towards other people.

Additional fact; In the past as he was actually 19 years old [rather his current situation with a false age that does not change with his choice], he settled with few Russian gangsters. He only chose to abandon the group when It began to affect his future.

On a more personal note:

He has adhd [ attention deficit hyperactivity disorder ] , which could be more noticeable throughout knowing him for a longer time. Rather than him having one specific type out of two single options, he has a combination of all options.

Few symptoms are hardly present, the rest are most common If It means with something to lack proper focus or have the inability to be at peace -- Otherwise said, he’s always “running on gears”.

Noticeable symptoms in later time:

✦ hyper focus on a single event/hobby/activity that leads to him abandoning other important activities or events. most extreme focus is given when It has involvement with pyrotechnics

✦ constant movement or restlessness, alternatively -- fidgeting, squirming. this can also be said, that he at times can be incredibly impatient;

✦ sudden distress or no ability to focus. while It is said so simply, this particular symptom can lead to him losing temporary ability to have any remote functionality. at extreme situations, he falls into a panic if he is unable to feel in his own body. [ in other terms, fall into having a moment of denationalization ]

✦ impulsive commentary or action without second thought. 

while this particular mental illness has to associate with having problems of memory, he is rather able to memorize a lot without needing to reassure himself on the information he knows of. since his both professions are something he loves to this day, to struggle with it only comes from the fact of daydreaming or hypersensitivity/moments of numbness.

✦ sushi, which is ironic. ✦ herring. mostly the kind that is in vinegar with sliced onions. ✦ lithuanian cold beet soup ✦ also -- a lithuanian dish. meat -- potato dumplings (” cepelinai “ in Lt.)

✦ elk jerky. the ones that come from a swedish brand ✦ alcohol. mainly the sweet cocktails that have an incredibly high percentage

✦ banana milkshake ✦ ramen ✦ anything other that can be spicy ✦ not a dish, but he loves all sorts of berries. yet to find one that he doesn’t like.

other things that he likes:

✦ gundam robots. robotic figures that you need to assemble from incredibly small parts. while not familiar with the show/s involving these robots, he likes the idea of living machinery.

he is familiar with a show of Neon Genesis Evangelion. something that has been shown to him by a friend from a while ago.

✦ sex. it’s no lie that he is fairly interested in sexual activity when given the opportunity with someone that has shown him a fair share of interest to it. that, or seek for a potential partner he would be interested to be with, and also engage in sexual activity.

preference: can be with anyone who share a similar figure type, or are average. avoids incredibly tall individuals for personal reasons. at times he will consider someone who is a bit above average in ... everything.

women are his least interest, but does not mean he wouldn’t fall for one. will give an exception for height for women -- since he has not met one with a bad connection.

✦ fishes, goldfishes. while wanting to have a hobby to keep aquatic pets, he refuses to do it alone. waiting to seek for someone who could share the interest and start it together;

✦ puzzles. mostly the ones that have a bigger count of pieces and some difficulty to it.

I imagine Lofty might have actually been born before Gardenview closed down. That must have been interesting. Contemplating making a hypothetical episode poster with them even though idk how to mimic art styles and will probably just use my own for it.

Andromeda was created completely unintentionally from a dream. RnD and Astro hid them for a while before Gardenview closed, at which point they said “yeah we had a kid at some point”.
