In another series Zhan Tiri would've had several episodes connected to her character development, her relationship with her lackeys, the protagonists, and little snippets of her backstory sprinkled throughout the show
There's dropping the ball and then there's... whatever TTS was doing lmao
#Fandom chit chats#I will not shut up how TTS had their equivalent of Bill Cipher (i.e. cosmic supernatural eldritch horror being) and then just#Barely used her. Not even a little villain song for her!#And because the fandom is so focused on Varian you barely see her in fan works either like!#ZT you are famous to ME

thank you plz dont feel like u have to! i love ur writing
*evil laughter* you fool I AM THE IDEAL ANGST WRITER AND IM A KIRIBAKU FAN IM A YUZUYA FAN AFTER ALL 😈
You were humming along to your favorite song as you were carrying 3 baskets of both your husband's clothes "That's About all of them" you huffed in relief you then grabbed and poured all the bleached cleaning chemicals in there and the clothes and turned on the washing machine "ok so I cleaned the room unclothed the sink and the toilet went and got groceries what else..." you were thinking for a while until a delight smell met your nose
"Man whatever Kats is cooking must be good I might sneak a bite or two.." a mischievous grin started forming on your face you crept out of the laundry room in the halls to where the kitchen to hear Kiri and Katsuki talking, you leaned your ear closer and it seems like they were talking about you
"And then when I came back I saw y/n tried and laying on the couch sleeping like a layout sloth with MY favorite chips in hand! " You giggled as you heard Katsuki angrily rambling on to his other lover Kiri about you slacking off thinking he was still holding a grudge about the snack incident"God I wish she could just do SOMETHING around the house rather than clean and BARELY cooking shes so..LAZY" "bakugo don't be so mean but yea I kinda agree I wish she could do more in the house rather than clean.."
Your heart stung at that very moment tears started to swell up in your eyes you had to carry Kiri's 2000-pound dumbbells when it was delivered at his home which bruised your hands and arms pretty bad, another time you saw permanent stainsmon Akatsuki's hero suit due to a battle with a notorious villain and decided to spend all your savings try and get it off, the more rambling they went on about you being "Lazy" the more angry and hurt you were
You then ran up the stairs and stuffed your face into the pillow and cried softly were you not working hard enough? After all the bruises cuts and money worth nothing? Were you actually Lazy? Thoughts swirled around your head and you lost your appetite you didn't feel like sleeping with them so you grabbed a pillow and blanket and slept in the guest room for tonight, you locked the door making sure they wouldn't barge in
Suddenly a knock on the door alerted you "Hey baby you there why are you in the guest room?" Kiri asked concern filling his voice but you ignored him getting the pillow and putting it on your head, Kiri tried a few more times getting more worried for you so he quickly ran down to get Katsuki about the situation "hèy blast y/n locked herself in the guest room... I think they're ignoring me" katsuki rolled his eyes while brushing his teeth getting ready for bed
"She's probably in her "dramatic bitch phase moods" or whatever she calls it she'll prob get over it in the morning," he said waving it off "but it feels like shes mad at us.. I think we should-" he was cut off by katsuki kissing him on the lips "El they'll be fine I'm sure of it plus she'll prob crawl back into bed without us knowing in the middle of the night now good night" katsuki pecked kiri on the cheek and jumped into bed Kiri took one last Glance in corners and slowly climbed in the bed feeling a bit empty even katsuki felt it so he clung onto Kiri but it was still empty and cold without you
The next morning they woke up and there was still no you, katsuki glanced at the space and rolled his eyes maybe you are mad.. or you woke up early to cook breakfast? Katsuki then took a shower and then got ready, you normally already had his warm dry clothes in the drawers but to his surprise, they were all soaking "Y/N!" He yelled out stomping around to hunt you down for this cruel prank but to find out you already left without their breakfast... only but a note and plain grain cereal saying "Here's your breakfast breakfast 😁"
Katsuki was stunned knowing that you would go all out making them a big breakfast with their drinks and everything decorated Kiri followed behind him yawning he glanced at the table and looked a bit worried "Katsuki what if we did make her upset" Katsuki groaned at his boyfriends whining and turn towards him "she's not mad she's probably was too lazy to do it and even if she was she can't go that far we can outlast her rebellion" he said with confidence
It's been 2 days and it's been hell you weren't lifting a finger for them and both of your boys weren't too pleased with that, katsuki wasn't used to washing clothes so he accidentally mixed the colored clothes with the white clothes which stained some of the white clothes to his annoyance, Kiri was freaking out that there was red hair dye left and he had hero meaning to go and his hair was almost turning black he begged you to go to the store but to his defeat you just stared at him and politely said no and got back to your reading
Katsuki was getting enraged by your sudden behavior so he confronted you with a beaming glare "Oi what's with this shitty attitude your pulling?" "Blasty no!" You tilted your head innocently at the 2 Men "What do you mean I'm doing something" You were about to go back to your read when Katsuki snatched the book and slammed it on the counter you glared at him "I had enough of this shitty attitude woman you have been doing less and less work each day and we're paying the consequences"
you scoffed "But is this what I am right a Lazy bum" Katsuki was about to question you about your statement but then it hit him..the memory of him and Kiri talking about you... "you heard our conversation" you looked over to him as your eyes narrow "at every single last word" Kirishima swelled up with guilt avoiding eye contact with white katsuki was still glaring
"Listen, baby, we're sorry it won-" "Oh don't give me that half ass apology you're gonna have to work for it BIG TIME" "Oh please like we deserve your forgiveness just because you're not doing much" You laughed sarcastically and got in his face
"I bet your ass wouldn't last a week without me doing the housework" "Fine winner gets to use the others credit card for the day and make them breakfast in bed for almost a week" "what!? Bakugan I dont think-" "Deal" you cut off Kirishima as you shook hands with the blond "what have I gotten into"
The next few days were hell! Most of Kiri and katsuki's colored clothes were bleached due to Kiri accidentally putting them in the colored clothes rather than putting them in the white clothes all their clothes were full of dye stains that day while you happily shopped you some clothes,
Katsuki, on the other hand, was worse he didn't have any time to make breakfast or lunch so he went on for the day cranky and hungry having to eat cheap instant ramen in his break and was questioned by fans on why was there Clear dye stain on his suit and kiri got laughed by both his friends and in the agency about his hair drooping and all black colored making his fans chased after him with questions or stating they liked his hair red which was to his annoyance
You watched as the two boys struggled with doing their jobs as you sat there secretly giggling to yourself and talking with your friends on the phone like a form to brag it to them
"Katuki im gonna apologize it's getting too much..." Kiri told Katsuki as he was struggling to mow the lawn (you also do that) "Are you kidding you giving up that easily because she was a" "No Bakugo because I know to feel what's it like its hard, look at you, your struggling to turn on the lawn mower your clothes are stained and we haven't eaten no good meals in over a week I'm tried katsuki and you are too"
katsuki stood they're quietly he didn't wanna admit but it was true it had been torture without you hell even if they kept going like this the whole house would be a disaster but not inky that their relationship would be stained and he didn't want that he truly loved you two even if he doesn't show it and he doesn't mean or intentionally wanna hurt you was he really taking it to far? That's what he made his final decision
"Fine.." Kiri turned slowly turned into smirk a bit "what was that couldn't hea-" "I SAID FINE DONT PUSH IT YOU DAMN ROCK" he chucked putting hands up in defeat "alright alright I heard you thr 1st time kats!" He chuckled as both was finding a way to make it up to you when you got home
You arrived at your home signing it's been a long day for you even tho you barely did anything you had a lot on your mind wondering was too far but were still confident that they needed to learn their lesson!, you got to your doorstep seeing a note that said "come in there's a surprised" in both Katsuki and Eljirou handwriting you raised your brow a bit but curious to know what was the surprise about
You slowly open the door revealing a fancy dinner table with all your favorite foods' petals on the floor what's next to the dish is a small gift right beside it "You look over to see both Your husbands' faces guilt written all over, you narrowed put your hands on your hips pretending to not be happy "so what's all this" katsuki sighed knowing that you were still mad at them which was reasonable "an apology i-no we're sorry for what we say I know this isn't much" you glanced I silently "but we also ran a warm bath for you with your favorite show recorded-"
you cut the men off by tackling them with a hug happy tears fllow "I COULDNT DO IT ANYMORE I HATED THIS CHALLENGE" Kiri's face was starting to swell up in tears as well "ME NEITHER" Both you and Kiri cried dramatically while Katsuki stood there genuinely smiling and chuckling a bit
"What are you laughing at blasty" glaring playfully at the blond who was on the edge of wanting to bust out laughing at his partner's dramatic performance
"Nothing" he smirked he was just glad everything was back to normal "So who wanna watch (favorite show)"

I got sad because I realized that the only good relationship that Dark Urge and Gortash had was with each other.
Gortash got sold by his parents, was abused in hell, barely escaped, and then spent the rest of his life plotting and scheming and refusing to get close to anyone, ultimately even selling another child he took in to the same nightmarish life he'd once escaped from.
Dark Urge was forced to kill their foster family by Bhaal, and then went to a Bhaal temple, where they might've been worshipped, but I highly doubt that the murder cult weirdos really thought of them as a person, and not just an object of worship. It is awful lonely up on that bloody pedestal. Plus the way they beg Bhaal for forgiveness for liking Gortash makes me suspect that it's never happened before.
And then I hold my little heart in my hands and weep for the two of them.
Because I know gortash is a piece of shit who refuses to break the cycle of abuse. And I know the dark urge has murdered a shit ton of people and enjoyed it too.
But...but...your honor ...I still feel sympathy.
I still felt sadness in the house of hope, when that asshole admitted he used to beat Gortash black and blue for fun.
I still felt grief when I read dark urge's letter to their god for ADMIRING someone.
For caring about a person.
And then I found out that dark urge had been living a normal life until they killed their foster parents.
You can say that dark urge enjoyed it, but I just don't think that's the case.
Baldur's Gate 3 has some laughably evil villains but there is nuance. There is humanity in most of the characters, good, evil, and morally gray. Even big baddies. Ketheric Thorm notably has a rather sad backstory full of grief, loneliness, and love turned to madness, Gortash was broken as a child by parents who shattered his ability to care for anyone but himself, and even Orin, if you confront her about Sarevok's relationship to her mother, can even be seen as a tragic figure. Like what the fuck, her own mom tried to kill her as an offering to bhaal.
Maybe all bhaalspawn are laughably one dimensional villains with absolutely no human traits to them, but that's just fucked.
One of my favorite themes is how everyone is a slave to the gods, their playthings, their disposal tools.
Poor Ketheric Thorm said it best when he said that we're just copper pieces to be traded, that we might have beaten him, but the gods beat him first.
He's so right, man. Most if not all the companions are slaves to Gods and devils.
Dark Urge was a slave to Bhaal, just a means to an end, a sharpened blade pressed against the world's throat, and Gortash was the plaything of devils, traded away by parents who didn't care about him, a powerless little boy who'd grow up to be a tyrannical power hungry despot.
I choose to believe they recognized each other. They worked together initially because they had their own agendas, and were doing their usual song and dance of manipulating others, but the more time they spent together, the more they actually liked each other.
They were genuinely friends, or lovers, and it's sickening and it's driving me mad, and it's all so sad.

pepper & felix
epilogue
this takes place after part twenty! thank you for reading! word count: 1.2k
Owen’s shoulder, as tall as he was, was incredibly spacious.
Pepper had never sat on anyone’s shoulder but Felix’s, so it was a bit daunting— but in the last two months, Owen had proven himself to be more than trustworthy. The darkness of the theater enveloped both Pepper and Basil, and since Owen was seated directly next to the wall, both borrowers felt comfortable being out in the open, even with so many humans around.
“I’m nervous,” Felix’s fluttery voice floated through Pepper’s mind. Pepper’s lips twitched into a smile, and he clasped his hands against his chest.
“Don’t be. You’re gonna do great.”
“Did you get to the theater okay? Can anyone see you?”
“We’re hidden, Felix, I promise. Don’t worry about us.”
“Good— that’s good.” Felix paused. “Thank you for coming.”
Pepper beamed. “Good luck. I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
Pepper’s hands fell away from his chest, just as Owen’s did as well. Pepper brushed Owen’s neck to get his attention, lifting his voice. “Is Bree nervous?”
“A little,” Owen murmured. He couldn’t turn his head to face the borrowers, but Pepper could sense the smile in his voice. “But she’s gonna do great. Felix and Alice, too.”
“It’s gonna be weird when Felix and Alice kiss,” Basil teased, unhelpfully.
“Shut up.” Pepper snorted, shoving his sister. “They’re just acting.”
“You should— oh, something’s happening.”
Basil fell quiet as music filled the theater, loud but not unpleasant. Owen briefly brought his hand to his shoulder, brushing his thumb over the two borrowers as if to ensure they were still there, and receiving two small pats in response. Pepper beamed up at him, although he knew Owen couldn’t see it. He made a mental note to thank Owen for bringing them. He appreciated it more than Owen knew.
Pepper was entranced as soon as the curtains opened.
Alice looked more like herself than he expected; her dark hair cascaded over her shoulders like a waterfall, while a glimmering green dress concealed her legs, draping over the stage floor.
Ironically, from this distance, Alice looked very small. Pepper lifted his hand, enthralled by how his palm appeared to envelop the human girl.
“Oh,” Basil murmured affectionately. “She sounds really good.”
Indeed, Alice was singing. Her voice shimmered with a liquid which surprised Pepper, so accustomed to her usual sharp, icy tone. He blinked, heart swelling, and leaned forward in intrigue.
It felt as if he were watching a movie, but this performance was real, gorgeous, fascinating. Alice disappeared after the end of her song, and was replaced by a crowd of humans that Pepper didn’t recognize. Their outfits were strange and unusual, but they drew Pepper in.
Pepper and Basil occasionally shared a few comments, but for the most part they were quiet, fascinated. When Felix appeared, Pepper straightened up.
The stage lights illuminated Felix in a very flattering glow, highlighting the sharpness of his bone structure, drawing Pepper’s attention to his face in a way he hadn’t noticed before. The borrower blinked, mesmerized, barely paying attention to what was happening onstage.
“You know what,” Basil mused, “I see it. Felix is hot.”
“Dude, shut up,” Pepper hushed, face warm. Basil snickered.
The story was unusual, but Pepper followed along, mind wandering. He didn’t know much about human myths, but this concept of mermaids and witches and magical sea creatures intrigued him.
Breanna, as kind and gentle and sweet as she was, was surprisingly frightening when she appeared onstage. Both Pepper and Basil stiffened upon seeing her, and for a moment Pepper didn’t recognize her. A dark, twisting, glittering costume swarmed her, sticking out in unusual directions, and her voice carried a villainous amusement that sent a chill down Pepper’s spine.
“It’s like Alice and Bree switched personalities,” Basil giggled. Pepper squinted at her.
“What?”
“Heh, you know— Alice is like Ursula in real life, and Bree is like Ariel. You know, because Alice is evil and Bree’s sweet.”
“Who— what?”
Basil gestured towards the stage, amused. “Dude, pay attention. The characters have names.”
The story surged on, and Pepper enjoyed it immensely. Felix had been so incredibly nervous over the past week, absolutely dreading opening night, convinced that he was going to butcher his songs and ruin the show. Pepper had assured him time and time again that that wouldn’t happen. Pepper had been right.
Felix’s voice didn’t waver in the slightest, flowing over the audience like a river, while he moved gracefully over the stage. Pepper’s heart spun in his chest, swelling with adoration, unable to pull his gaze away.
If Felix was feeling nervous, it wasn’t perceptible to the audience in the slightest. Pepper smiled, entranced.
After a fifteen-minute intermission, in which Owen had to explain several times that no, it didn’t just end there, it’s only halfway done, the story resumed. Pepper actually found himself to be quite disappointed when it ended, but when Felix and Alice took their final bow together, glowing and laughing and beaming, his heart soared.
“I go to all their shows,” Owen remarked, later, once he had found an empty hallway to stand in. Pepper and Basil were seated in his large palms, filled with an excitable energy after the show. “This is the first time they’ve all been leads together. I’m really proud.”
His casual voice brimmed with more emotion than usual. Pepper smiled, heart warm.
“What shows are they doing after this?” After months of talking with Felix, and more recently Alice and Breanna, Pepper was proud to have learned a bit more about theater.
Owen tilted his head, thoughtful. “Hm… our college just released the theater season for next year. Breanna was really excited for the fall one, I think it’s, uh— Chicago? Or Cabaret? One of the two.”
“I don’t know either of those,” Pepper admitted with a laugh.
“Me neither.” Owen smiled, amused. “But I’m already excited to see it.”
“Owen!”
A feminine voice drew all three of their gazes. Pepper sat up straighter as Breanna approached, looking frighteningly witchy in her black dress and glimmering dark makeup, but her beaming smile underneath was comfortingly familiar.
Owen’s hand rocked as Breanna threw her arms around him, and when Pepper and Basil both let out quiet exclamations, Breanna’s gaze landed on them. “Oh! Pepper, Basil!”
She excitedly lifted a hand in greeting, pulling away from her soulmate, and the borrowers grinned.
“You did amazing,” Basil gushed, while Pepper nodded rapidly. “I didn’t know you could sing like that.”
As Owen continued to shower Breanna in compliments, two more humans appeared around the corner, gazes searching— and when Felix and Alice spotted them, they lit up.
Within seconds, Pepper was being scooped up into Felix’s hands, held against his cheek. The borrower laughed when he noticed the beige makeup smudging his clothes, and Felix jumped into breathless apologies, which Pepper disregarded.
“Felix,” Pepper beamed, meeting his soulmate’s gaze. “You were wonderful.”
Somewhere to Pepper’s right, Basil was perched in Alice’s hands, showering her supposed enemy with bright words and enthusiastic compliments. Pepper laughed, heart swelling, and leaned forward to kiss Felix’s cheek.
“Thank you!” Felix’s voice was bright, much more energetic than what Pepper usually heard. “I– I was so nervous, but– it went well!”
Between Felix’s initial audition and now, the human had improved immensely– not necessarily in his singing ability, but in his confidence– and Pepper smiled at the thought. His gray gaze twinkled up at Felix, pride filling his expression.
“You didn’t seem nervous at all,” Pepper promised. “Seriously, I– you’re amazing. And you look… you looked really good.” He raised his eyebrows pointedly before a laugh escaped him at Felix’s flustered, amused expression. “I love you.”
With a laugh, Felix drew him closer to his face again. “I love you, too.”

— HAND OF BLOOD
SUMMARY : “Hey can i request one where the reader is Dean Winchester wife and she just found that she is whatever supernatural creature and him just cuddling with her and help her using her new powers?? something fluff and cute” - anon
PAIRING : dean winchester x powered!reader (f.)
CHARACTERS : unnamed villain, sam winchester, castiel
WARNINGS/TAGS : fluff, angst, comfort, trauma
WORD COUNT : 1.0k
A/N : bullet for my valentine song title. trying some new ways of writing bc university sucks, anyway, you can imagine the reader to be whatever magical/super-powered being from the show, I didn’t specify x
“Stop holding back, you could… you know… do something for me and I will let you go, alive,” the dark voice of the monster before you made a shiver run up your spine. Your stomach churned nervously, but you gave in anyway.
“Do what?” You sobbed, tugging helplessly at the chains around tour wrist.
You felt a warm breath by your cheek and you inhaled sharply, your body instantly tightened with stress.
“A little bit of magic,” the words brushed against your ear and neck. And you didn’t think you could shiver any harder than you already were, but your body shook with a shudder and your muscles clenched tighter, somehow.
“I can’t do magic,” you whispered with defeat, trying not to cry when a hand squeezed around your throat. “I’m not a witch,” you struggled to breathe through the tight grip.
Whatever the thing was that held you captive, squeezed your throat so tight you could feel your frantic heart beat against its palm. Then, the grip loosened with a frustrated growl, an impatient sound, desperate.
“But you are something,” it insisted through clenched teeth, “something very powerful.”
“I’ve never even… I think you’ve got the wrong person,” you argued weakly. Your body slowly relaxed and you accepted whatever your fate was.
You didn’t bother letting your eyes fall shut, you didn’t bother trying to squint and making something out of your surroundings. The pitch black room revealed nothing to you. All you could smell was dank air and dirt, hear the echo of yours and your captor’s breath against concrete walls and floor. The occasionally clink of the metal that bound you to the floor, the rustle of leaves with the shuffle of feet.
“I don’t have the wrong person. I think you’ve been holding back,” the voice grinned and two hands pressed against either side of your temples. “Why don’t we go back to the biggest hits? To all those times you’ve felt powerless?”
“You know… this doesn’t change the way I see you,” Dean promised, kissing your forehead. He absentmindedly played with a strand of your hair and kissed your cheek when you sniffled.
“I can’t… what if I can’t control it?” You whispered, wiping away tears with your sleeve as they flowed from your eyes with no end in sight.
“Hey, you’re such a control freak, I doubt you’ll let your powers beat you,” Dean grinned in attempts to cheer you up, but you were barely able to muster up a smile. You generally found Dean hilarious, something he knew well enough to find a way to cheer you up easily. Even when you had no idea what he was saying, he always made you laugh. It was always that dorky, boyish grin of his that made you crack up.
Dean shimmied down on the bed so he could face you. He sighed and gave you a weak smile. You were embarrassed of your wet eyes and swollen lips, but you knew Dean wasn’t judging you, and that’s why letting yourself fall apart was always so easy to do when you were with him.
“We’ve gone through worse and we’ve come out pretty damn alright.” His hand landed gently on your flushed, hot cheek. You finally looked into his gentle eyes, through watery vision and sticky lashes he still looked beautiful. “I promise that I will help you in any way that I can, sweetheart. So will, Sam. And so will Cas. We’re a family, you’re not gunna do this alone. Okay?”
Dean waited for you to nod. You almost couldn’t breath with the way he looked at you. With his soft green eyes glowing with determination, and kindness, and empathy. It hurt so much that you just nodded, and buried your face in his chest so that all the emotions in his eyes wouldn’t get to you and make you break down again.
He held you close to him and chuckled softly. He pressed his lips to the top of your head and soothingly rubbed your back while you clung to the warm layers on his body.
“Oh, sweetheart,” Dean gasped out a laugh, hunching over with his hands on his knees. “You’re not dangerous at all, you just suck at this. So… don’t be nervous.”
You glared at Dean as he struggled to breathe and wheezed out another laugh. Sam sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose with one arm crossed over his firm chest. Even Cas seemed irritated with Dean; he rolled his eyes and let his hands slap against his thighs in defeat, his powers slowly fading.
“This isn’t easy and you’re doing great,” Sam encouraged you and squeezed your shoulder reassuringly when he made his way across to you. “Cas, again,” he tipped his head towards you and returned next to Dean to elbow him in his ribs.
Dean squirmed and wiped tears of laughter from his eyes, his eyes shimmering with flirtatiousness when they opened back up to you and the glare you sent his way. He wiggled his brows and smacked his tongue above the roof of his mouth, and you couldn’t resist the tiny smile from growing on your face. Or the blush that began to heat up your face, the skipped beat of you once fearful heart, the clench of your stomach. Yup, Dean still had it.
“Try to… um, just don’t hit us… well, you can hit Dean,” Sam snickered, ignoring the glare Dean shot at him. You grinned when Dean glanced back at you and you picked yourself. He sneaked behind Sam to hide from you and the way you unfortunately sucked at using your abilities. Most of your anxiousness disappeared, and Cas smiled reassuringly when he powered up.
You didn’t think things could be any better, all things considered. New powers, new you. But most importantly, your relationship with Dean, Sam, and Cas seemed to get better in the past seven months, like this one bad thing that happened to you didn’t get between you… instead, it wove the four of you together, and squeezed tight like a knitted blanket. Despite the fear, the anxiety, the uncertainty of what you were now, you felt warm, safe, and secure. With the people you call your family.
You had Dean to thank for that. And everyone else’s for falling into your life so perfectly.

Which books would the Hallowoods characters read?
Happy HFTH season 4 day! I'm so excited for the new episodes, and I want to celebrate by recommending some books I think some of the main characters would love.
Diggory Graves - Unwieldy Creatures
I have a feeling that Diggory might be interested in a nonbinary Frankenstein retelling...
Percy Reed - The Spirit Bares Its Teeth
A transmasc protagonist, ghosts, a t4t love story - Percy would relate to this book so much.
Nikignik - This Is How You Lose the Time War
Even aside from the whole Bigolas Dickolas thing, I think Nikignik would really love this book. It's an epic, complicated, super emotional love story, written in a way that almost feels like poetry - I have a feeling that Nikignik would like that.
Lady Ethel Mallory - Lady Susan
It's short, it's funny, it's a classic, it's from the perspective of the villain and said villain uses the title "lady"? Lady Ethel would love this book.
Riot Maidstone - Gideon the Ninth
It's about a butch lesbian with a sword. That alone would probably convince Riot to read it, but I think she would love the story, too.
Olivier Song - Infinity Alchemist
This book is about an alchemist who is rejected by the magic school he tried so hard to get into, and one of the love interests is genderfluid - Olivier might relate to it a little too much.
Clara Martin - The Grimoire of Grave Fates
It's a murder mystery set at a magic school that moves around the world, and it's told from 18 (!) different perspectives. I think Clara would love reading about all these different types of magic and trying to solve the mystery.
Polly - Good Omens
Polly reminds me so much of Crowley sometimes - to quote this post, they're both "demons sent on a celestial audit of earth and catching more feelings than they signed up for" - so Polly would probably either love or hate Good Omens, no in-between.
Yaretzi - The Salt Grows Heavy
I can't really explain why I think Yaretzi would like this book, but she would. Something about the main character being a murderous mermaid, probably.
Mort - All Systems Red
Mort would definitely want to be friends with Murderbot.
Hector Mendoza and Jonah Duckworth - Silver in the Wood
This is my go-to "Read this if you like Our Flag Means Death" book because the main characters remind me a lot of Stede and Ed, but the book also reminds me so much of Hector and Jonah, especially with the magical sentient forest setting.
Zelda Duckworth - The Remarkable Retirement of Edna Fisher
This book is about a 83-year-old Chosen One who has to save the world armed with nothing but gumption and knitting needles - I think Zelda would enjoy that.
Mx. Morrell - What Moves the Dead
I think a fungal horror book with a nonbinary protagonist would be perfect for Mx. Morrell.
Danielle O'Hara - Pet
Pet is about a trans girl who has to reconsider everything she's been taught and save her friend with the help of a terrifying creature - everyone should read this book, but I think Danielle would especially like it.
Book titles:
Diggory Graves: Unwieldy Creatures by Addie Tsai
Percy Reed: The Spirit Bares Its Teeth by Andrew Joseph White
Nikignik: This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone
Lady Ethel Mallory: Lady Susan by Jane Austen
Riot Maidstone: Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir
Olivier Song: Infinity Alchemist by Kacen Callender
Clara Martin: The Grimoire of Grave Fates, edited by Hanna Alkaf and Margaret Owen
Polly: Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
Yaretzi: The Salt Grows Heavy by Cassandra Khaw
Mort: All Systems Red by Martha Wells
Hector Mendoza and Jonah Duckworth: Silver in the Wood by Emily Tesh
Zelda Duckworth: The Remarkable Retirement of Edna Fisher by E.M. Anderson
Mx. Morrell: What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher
Danielle O'Hara: Pet by Akwaeke Emezi

“i can barely hear veneer in v&v’s songs!!!1!1!”
yes that is, like, theee whole point. velvet wants the fame and to be the bigger person way more than he does, so her vocals will obviously be more turnt up because SHE wants to be the center of attention. veneer clearly doesn’t want it to that extent and knows his sister does so his vocals stay more reserved and quiet and focuses more on supporting her voice (i also think he uses floyd less??). i think it’s interesting how they did so much yet so little with them. if you look into the songs and reallllyyyyyy analyze it, you can get so much of their personalities just by their vocal choices. the twins have SO much potential with their characters and i really hope dreamworks brings them back, even if just for a holiday special. even though velvet is claimed a irredeemable villain, i’d still like to see her redeemed😂

Psycho Analysis: Buffalo Bill
(WARNING! This analysis contains SPOILERS!)
Back in 2019, I started Psycho Analysis with a review of one of cinema’s most overshadowed and underrated villains. Now that I’m better at this, I've decided I'm redoing those old reviews, giving them a fresh coat of paint, fitting them into the modern Psycho Analysis style, and updating the scores. I figured there’s no better place to start than with good ol’ Jame Gumb.
Jame Gumb (yes, Jame, he doesn’t have an “S” in his name) is the enigmatic serial killer from The Silence of the Lambs known as Buffalo Bill. He’s left a trail of flayed women in his wake, his motives unknown, and it’s up to Clarice Starling to stop him with a little help from a smarmy cannibal asshole. He’s the perfect sort of twisted, perverted freak you’d hope to find in a grim, gritty detective story. In fact, he almost seems a bit uncontroversial and unremarkable in terms of villains, doesn’t he?
Oh, if only. Unfortunately, there are aspects of Bill’s character that have made him the second most controversial villain of 90s cinema after Ray Finkle from Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. And we’re going to discuss all of that, because the big question when discussing Bill ultimately isn’t whether he’s good or bad, but is he good despite the unfortunate implications he ends up carrying due to what is and isn’t adapted from the book?
Motivation/Goals: Bill just wants to play dress up. Unfortunately, his idea of dressing up involves skinning women and then sewing said skin into a woman suit he can wear to dance about in his underground dungeon, penis tucked between his legs. To accomplish this Ed Gein-esque goal, he uses the playbooks of other killers like Ted Bundy to lure in unsuspecting women of considerable girth, traps them in a well in his basement, and forces them through a strict skin care regiment until it’s time to kill and skin them.
All of this is just incredibly fucked up, and also isn’t elaborated on to quite the degree the novel does due to Bill not being a character we focus on to gain real insight into. The full reveal of his plan is a shocking twist, but we don’t have the full psychological scope of his actions that was laid bare in the novel; while it doesn’t diminish Gumb in my opinion, it does leave the door open for some… problematic readings of what he’s up to, which we’ll discuss later.
Performance: While I don’t think I could possibly say he is an actor who manages to achieve the lofty heights of Hopkins, Ted Levine is still absolutely fantastic in his role. He’s an actor who always manages to inject his characters with a sort of unsettling air; just look at his brief appearance in Shutter Island if you need proof of this. Those skills are put to good use here, as he manages to make Gumb truly unnerving, and arguably far more realistic in his depiction of a serial killer than Lecter is.
Final Fate: After stalking Clarice Starling through his blackened basement while wearing night vision goggles, the tables are turned on Bill and the hunter becomes the hunted as Clarice unloads her gun into him. It’s a rather fitting death; as he preyed on women at their most vulnerable, it only makes sense that a woman strip him of all his power when he appears to be in control.
Evilness: I really don’t think there is any good argument against Bill getting the full 10/10. I mean, the man skins women so that he can wear their skin as a suit. How much fucking worse can a person even be in a story like this? It says a lot that Lecter comes off as more reasonable and less evil than the guy (even though this is decidedly not the case).
Best Scene: You know what it is:
youtube
And it’s even Jay and Silent Bob approved!
youtube
Really gotta compliment the song choice here; Q Lazzarus’ ominous dance tune “Goodbye Horses” forever had its image altered by its use here, but it really heightens the mood and feeds in to the unsettling nature of Bill’s dance. You can’t hear the opening notes of the song without this scene immediately coming to mind. And to think, its inclusion was all because she happened to pick up director Johnathan Demme in her taxi during a blizzard and showed him her demo tape.
Best Quote: From the above scene, Bill drops one of the most famous serial killer quotes in cinematic history:
“Would you fuck me? I’d fuck me. I’d fuck me so hard.”
Final Thoughts & Score: Buffalo Bill is horrendously underrated as a villain, though clearly there are some out there who appreciate him (Seth Green for example, who based Chris Griffin’s voice in Family Guy off of Buffalo Bill’s). That being said, the movie unfortunately ends up dipping into problematic territory as by excising most of the elaboration from the novel, Bill can unfortunately be read as an unflattering depiction of a trans woman.
Now you and I know that isn’t true, and anyone else who has read the book knows it isn’t true, but do you really think the average moviegoer in the early 90s cared about that? They see the freaky man dancing around with his schlong tucked away, wearing a woman’s skin, and find it unsettling and grotesque. It is incredibly easy to see how someone could see this as something akin to a villain in a crappy JKR detective novel, and it really didn’t have to be that way because the book really goes out of its way to not demonize trans people; while a bit outdated by modern standards, the book explains that trans people are not inherently violent and that Gumb is merely deluding himself into believing he is trans as some sort of warped justification for his actions. It even pointing out he was rejected for gender reasignment surgery. The movie has a few lines, but that’s kind of disappointing compared to the original novel, isn’t it? Then again, perhaps over-explaining would lead to the same criticisms the ending of Psycho gets, where laying things out for the audience in a way that tries not to demonize marginalized individuals is seen as tacky and unneeded.
Considering that Gumb was inspired by real life killers and their motivations (particularly Ed Gein, who has a higher number of fictional characters inspired by him than he does victims) and because I read the book, I don’t necessarily find his portrayal all that offensive, but I am a cis guy. If you do find his character tasteless, I won’t exactly blame you. It’s a rather unfortunate side effect of the transition from book to film that we lost the details that would ameliorate the problematic image of the character. With all that said, I still think he gets an 8.5/10. He’s certainly not as iconic as Lecter is and he’s too problematic to score any higher, but he is a very effective villain for the film he’s in and Levine’s performance is chilling and entrancing.
If nothing else, his existence led to the greatest open RP of all time. That’s gotta count for something.

don't mind me - just some rainy day musings bc sweeney todd 2023 has rotted my brain
someone's tags on a gifset got me thinking about 2023 revival lovett and todd and the special something their dynamic has. there's something about this particular iteration of these characters and their relationship, especially as we see it evolve throughout the show (even as we've seen it evolve throughout the show's run), that just makes mrs lovett's betrayal and her death at his hands hit hard. i know, i know - she deserves it. she lies! she's a lying liar. her deceit is no small thing. any one of us would be incensed to have been misled the way she misleads sweeney. even if a small part of her may have done it, as she says, to spare him having to see what became of his lucy, the larger part was certainly to serve her own interests.
but there's something about how close mrs lovett gets to bringing sweeney around to her this time that just gets me carried away. they're not just business partners - they're lovers, they're co-conspirators, and they're sort of each other's only friend in the world. at this point, he indulges her flights of fancy. they know each other intimately. they joke with each other! he's likely had to listen to countless hours of her prattling on about her thoughts, hopes, and wishes. this is a man who, at this point in the show, is slitting people's throats without remorse. and yet he spends the evening on the sofa cleaning his pipe while he patiently listens to his girlfriend rave about a seaside wedding. when she takes his hand, he doesn't wrench himself from her grasp like he used to. he doesn't get up and walk out, which he could do. he accepts her - her presence, her company, her warmth. he may struggle to admit it to himself, but he does. he can concede that he loves her - just a little bit, though he can't quite bring himself to say the words. sweeney is fiercely loyal to lucy's memory, so much so that he clearly couldn't ever wholly give his heart to someone else, but, in that moment after "by the sea", you can see that he's softened toward lovett. they were both alone a long time before this, after all.
it's not the stuff of great love songs, but it's something. it's almost enough.
this is what ultimately makes the final living moments between them all the more heartbreaking. mrs lovett has always been a sympathetic character to me - a villain, sure, but not without her reasons. she's a woman alone in a brutal world. whether the character is an older or a younger iteration, she's been alone for a desperately long time. when sweeney returns to her after all this time, she sees her moment and she takes it. she's not letting her second chance at life get away from her without a few claw marks.
when sweeney kills her, he sheds no tears over it - but the grudging fondness we'd seen him beginning to feel toward her only serves to emphasize how monstrous of a deception it is. his "you LIED to me" comes out in an anguished roar. when he throws her in that oven, all the light goes out from the world. it takes my breath away every time. though it should, it doesn’t quite feel like justice.
i know not everyone loves annaleigh's interpretation, but i have maintained from the first time i saw this revival that the warmth she brings, the honeyed, deluded, comical sweetness that lures sweeney into believing life with her could be tolerable, if not ideal, was a brilliant choice.
that's why the leap into hell together works for me. some productions have had sweeneys that barely tolerate their lovetts, so a cold diverging of paths makes sense. these two definitely fall into a different category. it makes sense to me for this sweeney and lovett's ultimate fate to be each other. who else would it be? lucy did nothing wrong - she's not going where he's going. having made lovett pay for her lies, they can head on down (hand in unlovable hand!!!!!!!) to live out the almost-enough life they created with each other. and sure, her chirping his ear off for eternity would certainly make an appropriate punishment for his crimes.
#sweeney todd#long post#lord but i do go on!#mrs lovett and i have this in common#i've enjoyed them since i discovered the show in 2006 and they are very much My Brand#but i really do just feel a deep fondness for j&a's todd/lovett antics#and any other production whose sweeney/lovett Go There#also soz to reference the movie but#the moment where hbc's lovett echoes sweeney's 'life is for the alive my dear' back at him? perfection#'maybe not like i dreamed. maybe not like you remember. but we could get by.' perfection. no notes.#anyway the girlies that get it get it#otp: if you only knew

I NEED to talk about how chloe or sam or sophia or marcus by taylor swift is a kevjean song, so settle in. I'm kinda running with the idea that the verses are v kevin coded and the chorus & bridge is jean. behold.
Your hologram stumbled into my apartment Hands in the hair of somebody in darkness named Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus And I just watched it happen not to start this off dark but with these two it's kinda hard to avoid - I don't remember if kevin knew about jean's abuse at the hands of the backliners/grayson, but he def knew about jean's reputation as a whore and pretty obviously didn't/couldn't stop it As the decade would play us for fools And you saw my bones out with somebody new Who seemed like he would've bullied you in school And you just watched it happen swap out 'he' for 'she' and you've got kevin leaving jean and dating thea, which I am still dying for more info on - how was thea affected by the nest? what part did she play in jean's treatment? I think it's fair to say that she couldn't have been entirely blameless. what does jean think about her actions in retrospect, and her connection to kevin?
If you want to break my cold, cold heart Just say, 'I loved you the way that you were' If you want to tear my world apart Just say you've always wondered this is v jean coded to me. I could be kinda projecting here, but I feel like it would be easier to imagine that kevin didn't feel as deeply for him as jean did for him (cause regardless of if you view them as romantic or platonic jean felt A Whole Lot), than to think that kevin did care for him, did feel something for that scared little boy whispering french in the darkness, and left him anyway.
You said some things that I can't unabsorb You turned me into an idea of sorts You needed me but you needed drugs more And I couldn't watch it happen okay I'll admit that I can't make the "you needed drugs more" line work, but! "you turned me into an idea of sorts" is a defensive shield a guilty person could throw up - jean turning kevin into an idea and then being hurt when he made the very human decision to run away and never look back I changed into goddesses, villains and fools Changed plans and lovers and outfits and rules All to outrun my desertion of you And you just watched it IF THIS IS NOT THE MOST KEVJEAN THING YOU'VE EVER SEEN HELLO I think it speaks for itself
If the glint in my eye traced the depths of your sigh Down that passage in time Back to the moment I crashed into you Like so many wrecks do Too impaired by my youth To know what to do they were both children in the nest, frightened and hurt, and even though kevin was older than jean he still was too young not to make mistakes, not to hurt him by accident, not to think of anything besides his own needs in his darkest moment
So if I sell my apartment And you have some kids with an internet starlet Will that make your memory fade from this scarlet maroon like it never happened Could it be enough to just float in your orbit Can we watch our phantoms like watching wild horses Cooler in theory but not if you force it To be, it just didn't happen here is where the jean perspective comes in again. I have so so many feelings about this but I'll try to be coherent - jean is still haunted by kevin, by his lingering attachment to him, by how he still cannot forgive kevin for leaving him. to see kevin living a relatively normal life outside the nest, while jean still can barely function day to day largely because of the consequences he received from kevin's actions, cuts him deeply. kevin has more concerns now than jean - jean has nothing other than his trauma and kevin (at least at the beginning of trc). if jean moves on, if he lets go of the nest, if he accepts his place on the outskirts of kevin's life, would that be enough? or will he always be pulled back, wondering what could have been?
I almost never write out my song analysis and most of this was thought of at 2am so idk if it makes any sense but I had to get it out
#also if you're gonna be a detractor cause I picked a taylor swift song dni 😘#aftg#all for the game#tsc#the sunshine court#jean moreau#kevin day#lyric analysis

My Eras Tour experience!!! (November 15 2024) part 1!
Early in the afternoon I boarded the train to Toronto, and there were so many Swifties there! I found it kinda funny that I could be sitting around people I've spoken to on here without realizing. I knew it was gonna be busy when I arrived, but I hadn't anticipated just how busy it actually was! There was a sea of glittery, shiny people everywhere. I loved looking at everyone's costumes. I saw a Red era hat, an Evermore sweater, lots and lots of bodysuits, some ME! music video suits, a matching mother daughter shirt that said "here's to my mama" "had to listen to all this drama". I saw some Kelce jerseys too. I got lots of bracelets too! I wasn't expecting any because I usually keep to myself, but they made me so happy. Especially the little girl who looked about 7 or 8, little swifties make me so happy. 🥹 walking around in the city was super exciting. I got lots of pictures. My mom was trying to take a picture of me in front of the giant friendship bracelet, but everybody else took out their phones too and I was like *panic* but there were actually police horses dressed in the friendship bracelet necklaces walking behind me! I also got to be near the base of the CN Tower. I've seen it in passing, but I've never been so close before. There was a friendship bracelet painted on the ground. Once we got inside, we wandered around a bit, but it was mostly waiting in lines. The line for popcorn was very long. But there was a nice person who was talking to everybody. (If you read this, I got your Go! Fight! Win! Bracelet and I gave you a Cowboy Like Me bracelet) we did get the popcorn, which is good because it came in a collector bucket! The merch line was so long we had to leave because I didn't wanna miss Gracie. We made it with a little time to spare, and then Gracie came out! She looked so pretty! I really loved Us and Close To You, especially when everyone started jumping around to Close To You. Then, after a bit, the "It's been a long time coming..." bit started up. I really like those fans they have. Then, Taylor came out! In one of my favorite bodysuits, the pink one!! Cruel Summer was so bouncy and fun, and I definitely "proved it." I also noticed that when you look directly at Taylor, she's literally a ball of glitter and sparkles. It was cool to see the Lover house visuals coming together. Her speech about thinking about tonight when we hear the songs from now on made me very happy, because obviously I'm gonna think about this forever. I really love the blue Fearless dress! Also very sparkly! It was exciting to see the red box get rolled out, and I wasn't expecting us to have to finish the lyrics! That was funny! Obviously 22 was a blast, and it was so cute seeing the kid get the 22 hat! it felt great to scream "fuck the patriarchy!" Loud as possible. I got my favorite Speak Now dress, the purple layered one! The Reputation era was so cool, I literally don't even know how to describe it, I could barely even process it! She's really good at the whole villain act. Every Reputation song was super exciting, but especially Look What You Made Me Do! Everything about it is on point. Taylor's dance moves, the other dancers, the on screen visuals, the instrumental, everything. I really love the blue Folklore/Evermore dress! I was kinda neutral on it before, but now I love it! The 1989 visuals were very cool, and I love the colour combo she wore!! Purple and pink!! I love those colours, especially together! I really like the dancing during Style. Blank Space has always been one of my favorite parts, especially when the floor lifts up and there's more Taylors on screen, but seeing it with my own eyes in person was so fun! The energy in the audience was so fun the whole time, but especially during Shake It Off. I knew there was fire visuals during Bad Blood, but I wasn't expecting fire to come out of torches for real! I was far, and I could feel how hot it was! It was so cool! But Daddy I Love Him is such a fun song to sing live! And her TTPD dress is perfect for running and jumping around. 1/2

Could we have lee!Hawks and ler!Tokoyami? Bird bros are life!!
I went ahead and decided to combine these two cause Hawks energy akljrkjeakjrejk Thank you anons for giving me the chance to write for Hawks again- he's just so fun! I hope you like it! :D
Cloud 9 (Taglist Peeps)
@myreygn @thatbigbisexual29 @duckymcdoorknob @baby-tickles2022 @cupcake-spice13 @backy-san @nutzgunray-lvt @sarahmaystock5578 @rachi-roo
“Guess who’s back, back, back? Back again, ‘gain, ‘gain. Hawks is back, back, back- tell you’re friends, friends, friends~” Hawks did a little shuffle as he came into the gym, laughing at his silly song. He was once again summoned to train the kiddos today, something he was unexpectedly starting to look forward to. “Hey kiddos, what’s new?”
“Hawks!” Some of the students cheered while others tried to keep their cool around the pro-hero. Tokoyami didn’t look surprised to see him, but it was clear by the slight puff in his feathers that he was pleased.
“Thank you for coming, Keigo. I know we’ve been asking for you quite regularly lately…” All Might began, relaxing when Hawks waved off his concern.
“No worries, Toshi. I kinda like these ankle biters.” He reached out, grabbing Tokoyami with ease. “Especially this one- say, can I keep him?”
“H-Hawks!” Tokoyami fussed as the rest of the class laughed, amused. Not long after groups were set up throughout the gym for quirk practice. Hawks was soon left with a handful of students to entertain.
“This is so exciting! I don’t think I’ve got to train with Hawks yet!” Uraraka clapped, almost floating away in her excitement.
“Don’t go soaring away now.” Tsuyu shot her tongue out when the girl nearly floated to the ceiling. “Stay with us, girl. *ribbit* *ribbit*”
“Tokoyami- what’s Hawk’s training style like?” Midoriya asked, notebook in hand and pen ready. “I’ve analyzed his quirk ability and his way of fighting by videos on the internet, but this is also my first time training with him. Do you have any pointers?”
“...I think Tsuyu just got carried away.” Todoroki blinked, watching the two girls float into the sky. In the back, Iida came running to their rescue.
“Hawks is…it’s hard to explain. You’ll see for yourself; just be ready.” Tokoyami seemed a bit stiff as he watched Hawks stretch out. “He likes to play games.”
“Ah I see….Um, what kind of games?”
~~~
Turns out, Hawk’s “games” weren’t just training related.
They were deadly.
“Come now- is that the best you can do?” Hawks teased, flying high above as the students tried tagging him. The goal was simple- capture the villain- in this case Hawks- who had taken one of their teammates -Tsuyu- hostage. The two biggest obstacles where he remained in the air at all times and he was allowed to fight back. With his arms full, he mainly used his wings and feathers.
The flying part was a little challenging but fun. Uraraka and Tokoyami had the best chances of getting up there while Todoroki and Midoriya had to be creative with their quirks. Ice stairs and Float seemed to be good options.
The real problem was the feathers. Mainly…
“Here I come- Aheheahhahahahaha!” Uraraka squealed when those dastardly things tickled her sides, sending her off course and floating away.
“Uraraka, hang o-Ahehahahaha!” Midoriya was no better- the second they made contact, he was a mess of laughter, Float giving out instantly as he crashed into the mats below. Tokoyami and Todoroki were in no better shape- Dark shadow seemed to enjoy the feeling much to his owner’s dismay, and Todoroki could barely keep his ice going the second he was targeted. Running also proved useless- the feathers were like homing missiles following their every move.
“Is that the best you got? Come at me!” Hawks laughed in his mock villain role, holding Tsuyu like a baby against his chest as he carried on reigning tickly terror upon them. For the most part, she seemed fine- relaxed even.
Then she remembered she had a role and would cry out. “Help me, guys! Save me! *ribbit*”
“Hehhehe…thihihs is impossible!” Todoroki groaned, curled against the mats as Tokoyami landed, Uraraka beside him. “How are we to save Tsuyu if he keeps on tickling us?”
“There’s got to be a way! We just need to find some sort of weakness.” Midoriya turned to Tokoyami then. “You’re his sidekick- do you know anything?”
“Sidekick..” Tokoyami blinked before looking thoughtful. “Yes. He does in fact have a weakness. However- if we were to exploit it, we’re going to need everyone’s aid.”
“What is it?” Uraraka asked. A small huddle was formed as the information was shared.
“.....That’s so obvious.” Todoroki blinked.
“Why didn’t we think of that sooner?” Uraraka sounded equally astonished. “Deku?”
The green haired boy was quiet, face concentrated as he ran through a million thoughts. Finally, he nodded, looking up. “Guys, I got an idea.”
~~~
“You really think so?” Tsuyu asked her “captive”, cheeks pink and something hopeful in her voice.
“You bet I do. Come on- I’ve been around that kid for a good few months now. I can tell when he’s in l-” Hawks never got to finish his statement, shooting out of range as black whip snapped at him. “Whoa there!”
“Go! GO!” Midoriya cried. Within seconds, Hawks was surrounded, just barely dodging Uraraka and Tokoyami as they dived at him. “You silly kids- forget what I can do?” Hawks went to summon his feathers-
“Todoroki!” They cried, and suddenly Hawk’s legs were frozen in place, as were the edges of his wings. He could still fly- but if he were to sacrifice his feathers, he’d crash. Clever, clever kids.
“Here I COME!” Uraraka took her chance, using a move Hawks didn’t even know she could do to pull Tsuyu from his grasp. Once safe, Midoriya shot Black Whip out again, encircling Hawk’s waist and pulling. Within minutes, he was against the mats. He had lost.
“Oh man- you kids are gre-AHAHT!” Just when he thought it was over, it had only begun.
“That’s right- tickle him!” Dark Shadow cried in glee as the group did just that, poking and prodding at every spot within reach as Hawks thrashed and squirmed beneath them. Black Whip was still around his waist, squeezing him slowly like a pulse. Uraraka had his wrists, pinning them with ease as Todoroki and Tsuyu dug into his exposed armpits. Tokoyami the little sneak was going for his legs, squeezing his thighs and knees like no tomorrow.
“Wahhahhaait wahhahahhahait! Aheahhahahhaha, kiiihihihihiddos leheheheht me uhuhuhuhup!” Hawks cried, cackling like a child as various tickle spots were attacked at once. He tried his best to keep his wings from bashing them- the last thing he wanted to was to knock anyone out- but even that proved difficult when Midoriya decided to go for the horrible spots within them, making his laugh go near silent. “Plehahahahhhase yoohohohu wihihihihin!”
“Hmmm…yeah, we did. Let him up guys.” Midoriya called. The tickling ended soon after, the kids shining with pride as Hawks gasped for air beneath them. “Good work everyone!”
“Yeah! We did it!” Uraraka cheered, high fiving Tsuyu and Todoroki. Tokoyami snickered behind a hand, Dark Shadow beaming with pride.
“Hawks, are you okay?” Midoriya eventually asked, watching the Pro Hero sit up on his arms with a soft laugh. “We didn’t overdo it, did we?”
“Heh, nah y’all did fine. That was clever- using my means of attack against me. Good job.” He reached out, patting their heads one at a time. “Next time’s not gonna be as easy though- come here, fearless leader!”
He reached out, grabbing Midoriya before any of them could react. Within minutes, he was in the air, a new captive in hand. “Let’s see what you can do now!”
Thanks for reading!

Villain!Kiriko x Reader (NSFW)
A/N: sorry for the wait! been busy, but hope this will suffice :)
——————
It was a calm, cool night- just half an hour past midnight. You’d been attending the yearly Fox Festival in Kanezaka with a group of friends, primarily to see the fireworks. And on your way home, you’d decided to stop for a drink at a bar. A simple, single glass. Something light. Why not?
However, in return, you ended up finding great interest in the dance floor, and in no time you were partying along with others around your age, letting yourself unwind. The night had still been young, after all. And you’d always liked to dance. Plus, being surrounded by complete strangers made it better!
But then, you saw her. She wasn’t dancing, she was watching from a distance. Leaning against the bar with a small glass of bourbon in one hand. Dressed in all black, with her button-up being unbuttoned enough to expose her collarbone and everything above it. You’d barely made out a thin, silver chain around her neck, glistening under the distant lights of the dance floor. She had also been smoking what you’d assumed was a cigarette, but later learned was just a thin cigar. How classy.
You’d noticed her after taking a break to catch your breath, having planned to return to the fun for a few more songs after the following one ended. But…you’d gotten a little tipsy. And seeing this attractive young woman eyeing you like a tiger in the woods made your confidence spike a couple notches.
It hadn’t taken you long to get shy around her, though. She’d held herself up very well, and her voice was extremely weakening, god. Not to mention how tall she was, how she looked at you, and how confident, coy and witty she was. Everything about her practically screamed powerful.
A conversation had quickly sparked, flirtations thrown in the mix, and the woman eventually revealed to you that she owned the place. She’d invited you to the back to show you proof, among other things, and as you’d grown more comfortable around her, she’d grown more…intimate. Nothing to make you uncomfortable, of course. Just subtle touches that gradually got bolder.
Then, standing before one another in silence, Kiriko eventually sensed that you two wanted the same thing. She set her cigar down onto a nearby ashtray, yet as you two neared a kiss, the woman briskly pulled away, quietly informing you who she was. An utter of her full name, and nothing more.
And this had instantly alerted you. Kiriko Kamori was easily Kanezaka’s most notorious vigilante. A thief, a manipulator, and most of all- a killer.
Millions of questions ran rampant. One of which being; how in the hell did Kiriko own an entire bar? And why? Simple. She went by another name. Kiriko Yamagami. Well. Yamagami, for short.
“I don’t really tell people my first name.” Kiriko huffed, a vague cloud of smoke ghosting from her nostrils as she put the cigar back to her lips. “I mean, no reason for them to know, right? It’d only be a risk.” A smirk made its way onto her face as she took another drag. “More so for them.”
As for the “why,” Kiriko simply enjoyed having an excuse to unwind. Owning a bar wasn’t necessarily difficult for her. She could also use the steady income, even if she was already a thief.
Learning all of this had, of course, stunned you. This woman wasn’t just well-known, but she was feared. You’d never seen her before this, obviously, but the news had made her capabilities pretty obvious. She was strong, unafraid to kill, quick, and absolutely out for blood.
And yet, by the time you two were alone in a closed-off, secluded room, sexual tensions were too high to ignore. You felt your heart tugging for you to just pounce, and looking into that woman’s dangerously attractive eyes, you simply couldn’t find a bone within you that even wanted to run. All you wanted was her. Maybe it was the alcohol, or maybe it was your raging attraction to women. Either way, you didn’t care.
And Kiriko sensed this, too. It only took about three minutes of small talk before things grew intimate again; and this time, Kiriko didn’t hold back. Having finished her cigar, she simply tossed it to the floor and let it air out, approaching you with a predatory glint in her eyes. You felt helpless in the most addicting way possible as she brought a hand to your chest, pressing you firmly against the nearest wall as her lips crashed against yours.
And that’s how you ended up here. Grinding against her while she watched.
The room was dimly lit by the warm, orange hue of the surrounding LEDs. A mini-bar sat in one corner of the room, but most space was taken up by a large, maroon-colored couch. The fancy furniture surrounded a glass roundtable in the center of the room, and atop said table stood two unfinished glasses of bourbon, along with an ashtray. This was a lounge dedicated to only a few people- a lounge dedicated to sheer, absolute privacy and comfort. And that level of privacy was something you definitely needed.
Straddling Kiriko’s lap with your knees pressed against the couch, a drawn out, high-pitched whine fell past your lips as you needily ground your hips down against hers. Smiling up at you with a coquettish hum, the vigilante brought her hand up to your clothed sex, gingerly pressing three digits against your clit and eliciting another whine from you.
Delightful shivers ran down your spine, and sparks of pleasure exploded within you from the point of contact. Eager for more, you pressed back into her, attempting to create more friction. And with nothing more than a chuckle, Kiriko simply watched you work your way to climax against her, her eyes dark with lustrous thrill.
“Yeah,” her voice was low, her tone laced with hunger, almost as if she were holding herself back from what else she wanted to do to you. “That’s my girl.”
“Fffuck…please-“
Every word she spoke fueled a fire of need within you. Feeling her hands at your hips, her hips beneath yours, and most of all, her eyes dead-set on you- it was exhilarating. You were getting wetter and wetter every time you made eye contact with her, everytime you felt her.
Kiriko began gingerly rubbing circles over your clit with a thumb, feeling wetness through your clothes as you continued to ride her. It was almost embarrassing, how willing you were to cum for this woman even if it meant fully clothed. But that look in her eye was beyond alluring. And she had this dangerous edge to her voice; it was intimidating yet turned you on to an embarrassing extent.
Suddenly, Kiriko put slightly more pressure against your clit, causing your hips to jolt and a sharp moan to elicit from you. Your breathing became ragged as you struggled to keep your movements consistent. Still rutting, your mouth was slightly ajar as weak, desperate sounds fell from you.
“You like that?” Kiriko purred, watching closely as your face scrunched up in that cute way it always does when you’re close. Taking a shuddering breath, you couldn’t find the ability to respond to her coherently; you instead continued to grind, your hands clinging desperately onto each of Kiriko’s shoulders as your movements grew feverish.
“Bad girl. I think you do.”
Kiriko sat back against the cushions, her hands now guiding your hips and encouraging you to speed up, which you enthusiastically did. As you began further pressing her into the cushions, she couldn’t help tilting her head back, letting out a low groan at the sensation. She absolutely loved it- having such a needy girl like you sitting in her lap and using her to get off. Hearing your sweet little sounds as she touched you; seeing you submit.
With a growl, Kiriko suddenly bucked up into you, making you gasp.
“F-fuck…” you panted, burying your face into the crook of her neck, “…m’gonna….sshhhittt-“
Kiriko didn’t respond right away, gripping your hips tighter as she continued guiding the movement of your hips. Your heavy breathing and sounds of pleasure began to fill the air. Yours specifically, but Kiriko was beginning to let herself loose as well. You were both grateful that the music outside was as loud as it was.
“You’re so- mm- so needy…” Kiriko groaned softly, a coy laugh audible in her tone. You could see her cheeks go crimson as she began to pleasure herself as well- bucking up into you. The sight made you gush. “You’re cute like this,” she opened her eyes for a moment and looked up to watch you, chuckling a bit when you looked back with those wide, hazy eyes, “you know that?”
The praise, and she knew it, made you weak. You felt like you were truly hers, and not just in a possessive way. The way she touched you tenderly and took her time with you got you all sorts of hot and bothered. And so you whimpered into her neck, too shy to respond with words, but hoping the wet kiss you pressed against her throat would suffice.
And it definitely had. You immediately heard her sigh pleasantly at the touch, and curiously, you did it again, this time adding a graze of your tongue.
“…Mmm…keep doing that.” Kiriko murmured, her eyes closing once more. One of her hands reached up to rest on the back of your neck, gently pushing your face closer, “Do that again, sweetheart.”
The petname made heat shoot straight to your clit, but the command itself brought a small smirk to your lips. She likes that, huh?
Dutifully, you began to leave vague hickies anywhere you could along the side of Kiriko’s neck. Your teeth skimmed over the soft flesh just under her jaw, but closer to her shoulders you were sure to leave darker marks. The pleased sigh and occasional, low moan that escaped the vigilante with each bite sent shivers up your spine. She went from holding onto your neck to gently tugging your hair, whispering small praises like “just like that” or “you’re so good at this, Y/N” into your ear. Eager to continue pleasing her, you continued travelling down to her collarbone, bringing a slightly hesitant hand up to unbutton the rest of her shirt.
She let you, smirking all the while. As you began to reveal more and more skin, Kiriko helped you out by sitting up straight for just a moment. You let out a frustrated noise as you were forced to stop your movements, sitting up as well to see what she was up to.
The sight of Kiriko taking off her button-up was definitely going to be fantasy fodder for a long time after tonight. She slowly unbuttoned the remainder of her shirt and slipped the garment off, tossing it into a random corner of the lounge. This revealed her lean shoulders and arms, a simple black bra, and a toned, toned, stomach. By no means was Kiriko buff, but she was definitely fit.
Kiriko quickly noticed your staring, bringing her hands back to your hips.
“Like what you see?”
Despite the deep blush blossoming on your face, you were shameless. Breathlessly, you murmured back, “Yeah, I do.” You paused to keep admiring her body, lewdly wondering how it would feel to have her towering over you.
“Take off your shirt for me.” A sudden command. You looked back up to find her staring right at you, hunger lacing her expression. You honestly struggled to respond right away. But there was nothing to be said, based on the look on her face. She wasn’t asking.
You did as she requested, crossing your arms over your head and pulling your top off. You tossed it in the same direction Kiriko had tossed hers, and when you looked back at her, you knew what she wanted next, her smirk making it painfully obvious. You took off your bra quickly, undoing the clasp with ease and letting it fall onto Kiriko’s lap. Kiriko watched it fall, deciding to throw it elsewhere herself this time, before taking in every inch of your now-half-naked form. Very, very slowly.
“So pretty,” she murmured affectionately, her hands caressing your sides, “such a pretty girl.”
You shivered, your head falling forward little ways as a shaky sigh fell from you. Eagerly, you let your eyes slowly fall closed, your body tingling with each little touch Kiriko made upon your sensitive body.
You knew, based on the hungry look in her eyes and the gentleness of her touch, that Kiriko was going to take very good care of you.

Agatha/Gil/Tarvek Playlist
The ship so popular I could have tagged this "OT3 playlist" and everyone would know what I meant.
Son of Man - Phil Collins This song makes me think of them all pre-canon, although they're still maturing even now.
Oh, the power to be strong And the wisdom to be wise All these things will come to you in time On this journey that you're making There'll be answers that you'll seek And it's you who'll climb the mountain It's you who'll reach the peak
Say It, Just Say It - The Mowgli's The song speaks for itself. I will say I wouldn't object to a few more OT3 smooches interrupting theiri Sparky leaves of common sense.
I will take your side You make me feel like I've been waiting my whole life And I could die To find that simple kind of love you can't deny
Mama I'm A Big Girl Now - Hairspray (movie album) The Broadway version of this song includes the villain's daughter, rounding out at three singers. That feels pretty appropriate! But I like the movie's version more musically.
Once I used to fidget 'cause I just sat home But now I'm just like Gidget and I gotta get to Rome So say, arrivederci, toodle-loo and ciao 'Cause mama, I'm a big girl now
Some Kind of Disaster - All Time Low This one's for Tarvek. He's lucky he's cute, heh.
I'm a liar, I'm a cynic I'm a sinner, I'm a saint I'm a loser, I'm a critic I'm the ghost of my mistakes And it's all my fault that I'm still the one you want
Feel Better - Penelope Scott This one's for Gil and the timestop snafu. If you wanna spread it out chronologically I suggest the Tarvek breakup, the Agatha breakup, and the timestop for the verses.
I guess I loved you I guess I really loved you All my filthy life I loved someone I barely knew And now you're over there And I'm way over here What am I gonna do?
You're The Two - The Roches Agatha gets something a little cheerier for her special. It's good she already has plenty of room for them... once she gets her town back.
Jane told Betty she saw me last night She had her socks shocked off but she was tryin' to be polite We were arm in arm in arm and that just didn't seem right I was walkin' with my babies in my high heel shoes Havin' so much fun I nearly lost my blues You're the two that I want
Invincible - OK Go The ridiculously overpowered triumvirate. I think Gilgatha is more OP than Tarvek, but that suits the song just fine.
When they finally come to destroy the earth They'll have to deal with you first And now, my money says they won't know about the 1000°F hot metal lights behind your eyes Invincible
The Future Has Arrived - All-American Rejects None of the trio thought that this would be their endgame, but I don't think they're complaining. I bet $20 this would make an awesome epilogue song for the comic.
It's time to create Time to grow If you're feeling right The world, yeah, she's changing Don't it make you feel alive? (The future has arrived)

Title: "The Turnbull ACs and the Night of Brutal Machismo: A Warriors Album Breakdown
One Slate review on The Warriors concept album knocked it for pulling punches on violence and toning down homophobia. I'm not here to address the latter (that's for another post), but I’m perplexed by the former. Less violence? Really? Because if we strip away the music, what you’ve got is essentially a survival thriller with the occasional comedic flare, and nowhere is this more obvious than with the Turnbull ACs. This gang, a terrifying mix of BIPOC men fueled by deep-seated anger, represents raw, unchecked violence—and they bring it full force in their villainous track. The Turnbull ACs aren’t just your typical street thugs; they roll in like a storm on a mission. Their song? An anthem of brutal machismo, laced with misogyny and menace. And Tato, their leader, doesn’t hold back, either. He's practically salivating over the things he wants to do to the Warriors. When he whistles, they’re expected to listen. When he tells them they “look like cute little cakes I want to slice up,” we know exactly the kind of violence he has in mind.They even come armed to the teeth on a school bus, a disturbing image that tells us we’re way past street fights and tough-guy brawls. The Warriors, especially Swan, barely have time to process what they’re up against. These men aren’t just threatening—they’re literally revved up to mow them down. The ACs see themselves as vigilantes, out to punish “those nasty women” who dared defy what they view as the natural order. Never mind that the very person they’re avenging—Cyrus, a leader who called for unity and peace—is a woman. Ironically, the ACs completely ignore this fact, reducing her to “one of the guys,” an acceptable woman by their standards, to justify their actions.Here’s where the album slips into uncomfortable truths. We have a marginalized group of men—Puerto Ricans, to be specific—hunting down another marginalized group, BIPOC women. Why? Because a lie from a white man put them at each other’s throats. The ACs’ brand of violence isn’t cathartic or noble; it’s a display of what happens when people are weaponized by the real villains in the system: those at the top, feeding them misinformation, pitting them against each other to keep their own power intact. And the album makes it heartbreakingly clear that it’s these elites who benefit when the marginalized go to war.The Bulls don’t process trauma; they redirect it. They think their violent “justice” will somehow heal the wounds of living in a world that’s already against them. Instead, what we see is the bitter truth: hurting others doesn’t make you whole. It doesn’t cure pain. When the Warriors escape, the ACs don’t even feel victory—they’re left hollow, mourning losses they haven’t begun to address. Because for all that violence and bravado, the act of violence is empty. And it’s only when that adrenaline fades that they realize the sadness still festers.As a culture critic—and as a man—I know this toxic cycle all too well. Men are taught to swap sadness with anger, to channel every hurt into rage so we don’t seem “weak.” It’s a lie that feeds isolation and festers hate, a destructive path we’re told is the only way to prove strength. But The Warriors doesn’t just expose this toxic masculinity—it dismantles it. The ACs don’t come out stronger; they come out broken. And in doing so, the album shows us what violence really is: a poor substitute for healing.In the end, the Warriors escape, but the Turnbull ACs are trapped in their own pain. The album reminds us of a simple truth: “real” strength doesn’t come from brutalizing others. It comes from having the courage to process hurt, the humility to be vulnerable, and the ability to choose peace.
