Katsuki Bakugo

A noisy weekend afternoon, pathetic winds making noise through the damned trees, and the extras just being extras, Katsuki Bakugo was fed up with the day, wishing for evening to come already, so that the common school gym opened and he could get started with his weekend training regimen.

It was literally just another shitty day.

Even his s/o had gone somewhere so he was all alone.

Not like he'll ever admit to missing them.

From the common room, he made his way to his own room, wishing to be just left by himself.

However his extremely polite wish to the gods was not granted.

Since he'd stumbled upon a damned brat right after entering his room.

Wtf?!

"What's this thing doing here...?"

Was even more stunned when that same brat had swiftly crawled upto him, and then upon him, and had landed on his shoulder.

The brat's crawling speed was unreal.

He wasted no time in grabbing the brat with one hand and shoving the thing on his bed.

"Who are you?" He inquired, making an expression which would be enough to scare any brat away.

But of course, you weren't just any brat, you were a special brat.

So, instead of answering his question, you did the next best thing that came to your tiny brain, you mimicked his question, asking him who he was, your lips curling into an innocent smile.

Wait- he feels he knows this smile-

"Y/n...?"

You hold his face in your chubby hands and nod vigorously.

He feels proud first, shocked next.

"How tf?"

Immediately became more gentle with handling you, his precious dumbass.

Didn't waste any time informing Aizawa about the situation. After much thought, Aizawa had reluctantly agreed on letting Bakugo be in charge of his fellow classmate.

"You are under my care huh?! Well you better behave AND ADDRESS ME AS YOUR MASTER!"

Loves how you broke into fits of giggles just after.

Most of your conversation with him was just playful banter.

"BA-k-bojhfh yur name's hawd" you say while poking his cheek

"WAIT-HOW COULD YOU SPELL MY NAME WRONG??!"

He was like an experienced caretaker. He immediately understood how you were feeling at any moment of the day, and caught onto your eating habits with the precision of a seasoned professional.

He kept in touch with both his studies and recovery girl, who informed him about the period of 3 days for the effects of your current state lasting.

Nothing that he couldn't handle.

Most of the times you were perched onto his shoulder like a baby bird.

He found your shenanigans enjoyable.

Except for the fact that you seemed to get his name wrong everytime.

After a few minutes from his trip to recovery girl

"There are three cards arranged here. Now get the cards one after the other and spell it correctly" Bakugo said in a somewhat calm manner- the calmest he could get with his anger

You nodded in response, picking the first card.

"B-A....Ba!"

And then you show it to him. "Baa!!" You say more eloquently in an excited manner.

You pickup the second pair.

"Kuuu~" you chirp happily as he nods in a satisfied manner "Baku!" You repeat happily.

Bakugo with his folded arms kept watching you, hoping that now you would finally get his name right.....(also not to hide it- he enjoyed the sight of his adorable partner trying to learn his name)

It was going fine until- "GUo...?"

Now Bakugo got a tick mark on his forehead and his triangular eyes appeared.

"AAAGGHHHHDAMNIT" He shouted with his hands pulling at his hair "NOW GIMME THOSE CARDS YOU CAN DO NOTHING"

You just nodded enthusiastically and gave him the cards, and perched on his shoulder.

"Say it-Ba"

"Ba"

"Ku"

"Kuu~"

"Go"

"...Go?"

Bakugo saw a new ray of hope-

"Now say it!- Ba-ku-go!!"

There was one minute of silence until-

"Bakujjgfxhuj-"

Bakugo Relationship Headcannons (Katsuki Bakugo x gender neutral reader)

As we all know, Bakugo is the type to be loud and in your face, he likes to be in charge and assert his dominance in nearly every kind of situation. Of course you're no exception, but after you two start dating you get to see many sides of Bakugo that others don't.

Before he realized he liked you he wouldn't go out of his way to be around you, rather he would actually try to keep his distance. He didn't understand why he felt so intimidated by your presence. Sure, you were strong and had an amazing quirk but you were no different from the other powerful students of class 1-A. He respected you but he also respected many of his other classmates. It took him a while to catch on to why he felt the way he did, why he'd always found himself quieting down whenever you came around, or feeling like he'd lost his tongue for a few seconds when you'd directly asked him a question. Why he'd sometimes catch his eyes following you without even realizing it. He'd always been so focused on himself and his goals he'd never really had a crush on anyone besides some girl in first grade and his third grade teacher before you. So he had limited references to work with.

In the beginning of your relationship he tried to play it cool but he was absolutely obsessed with you months before you even started dating. Of course he'd never admit it, but he already knows your favorite snacks and shows, he knows you hate math, he knows you've always been responsible but enjoy letting loose every once in a while, that you're a caretaker by nature, your shoe size, that you somehow think trees are "so fucking endearing", your favorite dog/cat breed, that you love sweaters and hate wearing tight pants, that you tend to like things that most people usually don't, and that you typically take proper care of yourself but sometimes you bottle things inside and slightly pull away from everyone for a little while.

He also knows just how much you adore your little sibling/family member. So of course he knows their birthday and some of the things that they like as well. He just so happens to pass by you and your little sibling right before you give them their present. He tosses you a neatly wrapped present, grunts out a "happy birthday kid" to your sibling/family member and leaves before you can even voice your confusion. That ended up being their favorite toy for the next two years, carrying it with them everywhere. Now whenever they come to visit you in the dorms they also visit Bakugo. Honestly at first you'd half-way expected him to tell them to get lost but after the initial hesitance he showed no signs of discomfort, rather he seemed quite fond of them after some time. Bakugo doesn't have much experience dealing with kids so he's awkward around them and hates dealing with rowdy kids that don't listen, but with your younger sibling/family member he's kind and patient even if they're upset and crying over something he thinks is insignificant. One time you and a few of your fellow classmates had gone to a park nearby with your younger sibling/family member. After a little while you had to use the restroom but your sibling didn't and wanted to keep playing so you'd asked your classmates to watch them for a bit. When you came back you'd caught your sibling/family member alone by the slide, Bakugo trying to teach them how to tie their shoelaces by singing the song he'd been taught as a kid and demonstrating on their little shoe.

He usually fights off the cute-aggression that you cause him, but sometimes you'll just be studying together and he'll randomly squish your cheeks together roughly and lightly shake your face between his hands for a few seconds then go back to his work like nothing happened. Will act confused if you try to ask him about it.

He sweats a lot but hates smelling bad so he tends to overdo it a bit when it comes to personal hygiene but he's especially vigilant with his hygiene when he knows he'll be around you.

Bakugo loves invading your personal space. Even in the summer heat he's always touching you in some way. Even if it's just his arm bumping against yours as you walk together or a hand lingering on the small of your back. Even in his sleep he's clinging to you. He could be complaining about how damn hot it is, damp with sweat, shirt long discarded but you're damn wrong if you think he's not wrapping around you.

After a few nights of less than decent sleep and you realized no amount of complaining would free you from his space heater clinging you mandated the use of the air-conditioner if you were sleeping in the same bed together.

Trusts you with his life. Seriously.

Loves cooking for you, he adores the faces you make whenever you taste his delicious cooking and the way you stuff so much into your mouth that your cheeks puff out. If you make food for him he'll savor every last bite.

Draws out designs of wedding rings he thinks you'd like and plans to get them all made for you when he becomes a pro hero so you can pick which one you like the most.

When he's alone sometimes he'll think about how much he loves you and how happy you make him that he thinks he could cry.

At first he is terrified of being vulnerable with you. He knows how caring and patient you are but he doesn't want you to ever think badly of him and he always wants to seem strong to you. Once you realized the issue you told him how that made you feel and asked how it would make him feel if things were reversed, he'd realized that he'd hate if you felt like you couldn't be vulnerable with him. He realized that he'd rather you think of him as weak than to be hurting or cause an argument between you two. So with work, little by little, he started opening up to you.

Somehow merges both of your friend groups into one.

Secretly such a romantic sap.

If you can't sleep he'll sneak into your room after night roll call, he'll rub your back and hum Cigarettes After Sex songs in your ear until you're out cold. Somehow never gets caught by the teachers in your room no matter how often he sneaks into it.

Workout buddies! Loves showing off in front of you at the gym. He'll peek at you as he does bicep curls and try not to smirk when he sees you ogling his muscles.

Plays with your hair.

Does selfcare Sunday night dates with you every other week.

Encourages you to spend time with your friends even if he wants to monopolize your company.

He thinks matching outfits are a bit much but likes coordinated outfits. Really likes subtle matching jewelry with each others initials or birth stone on it.

Likes just looking at your face sometimes.

Truly your best friend.

(I'm not quite caught up with the story, just yet, so please forgive me if any of this is OOC ^^;;)

Going along with the idea of colds spreading easily throughout the dorms, I imagine some members of Class 1-A would end up being pretty prepared for the event of an outbreak: namely Iida and Yaoyorozu, being basically the class parents. Iida would have his dorm stocked with supplies, and Yaoyorozu would be ready to generate new supplies at a moment's notice, having their "recipes", so to speak, committed to memory. Tsu, as the class's older sister, so to speak, would also have her dorm stocked up with supplies. Also, I feel like Tokoyami would just have a bunch of blankets in his dorm, and those would end up going towards any caretaking efforts, too.

Iida, Yaoyorozu, and Tsu would probably end up being the usual caretakers, with Yaororozu being more nurturing and comforting, Iida being more strict and by-the-book, and Tsu being somewhere in the middle. I imagine most of Class 1-A would be happy to try and help, but I feel like Midoriya, especially, would try to help to a point where it maaaaay become self-destructive, pushing himself to exhaustion, even if he's feeling sick, himself. He'd have to be forced to rest.

I imagine Ashido, Kirishima, Kaminari, Sero, and Ochako would be absolute cuddle-bugs while sick or while acting as caretakers... to the point where they may or may not end up getting sick, themselves, in the latter case. While sick, Jiro wouldn't seek out cuddles, but I imagine she'd appreciate getting them. Perhaps, they'd all end up in a big cuddle pile?

Iida keeps track of everyone's symptoms and temperatures. Midoriya keeps track of how peoples' Quirks are affected, if at all.

Bakugo would be a kind-of-aggressive caretaker, but one who knows what he's doing: a perfect nurse, knowledge-wise, but his bedside manner would be severely lacking. He'd probably be the one who gets Midoriya to finally rest, though.

Bakugo would also end up making soup for the others, I feel. Todoroki is banned from helping with this. Yaororozu makes tea for everyone — of course with honey and lemon juice to help soothe any sore throats. Todoroki is allowed to help with this (with supervision).

If Bakugo ends up sick and sweating, he or the others would have to make sure to wipe off whatever sweat he'd get on anything. Even if he's able to control his Quirk perfectly fine while sick, the sweat from his hands is still highly flammable and could become a fire hazard, anyway.

Ashido, Kaminari, and Mineta would probably be the most likely to outwardly complain about their symptoms. Midoriya, meanwhile, would probably keep his to himself unless directly questioned and subsequently pressed about 'em (and even then, he'd probably try to downplay his symptoms), much to the chagrin of whoever's taking care of him. He'd also probably pull an, "I'm feeling much better, now! Thank you!" and try to go back to helping the others while still being sick, once again having to be forced to rest.

And, of course, if anyone is going to suggest going to the nurse, it's Iida

You know i read about this fanfic, Genius in which BnHA x reader (who is female ironman, female version Tony Stark) as she spit facts towards Bakugo's behaviour, all he could bark was how she is a Quirkless runt who knows how to built shct and later in a chapter (chapter 12 serotonin killers), Bakugo who always yapping like a dog insults a heavily traumatized Y/n (her caretaker died on overusing their Quirk to protect her) infront of everyone while everyone horrified on Bakugo's words on how she is just nothing but a Quirkless runt and useless without her suit and tell her that she doesn't have what it takes to be a hero. Excuse me? What kind of goals you considered heroic? Being a number 1 hero with a mid tier quirk of yours? Landmine is a better Quirk, lol. She applied to hero course so she could turn society a better place with geniune heroes while you, you want to crush others to assert your dominance and while he finishes that statement he fcking laughs, despite the fact that she is young and achieve a greater achievement better than her classmates and contributed to society and the fact she was born poor and doesn't have any Quirk to help her, just using her intelligence to carry in life to succesful to contrast to Bakugo who was born with everything and didn't have to work shct and acting like a little spoiled brat he is when a little bit of compliment was thrown into somebody else's way, he throws a fcking tantrum, Y/n have every right to act proud and cocky (and a little bit of narcissist) because she work hard on that suit with little to no money and who wouldn't be proud at your own creation? What kind of skill or achievements he should be proud of? His Quirk? There's nothing special about that, in the end of the day it's just a tool, to get what he wants and without his Quirk? He's also nothing and also useless.

All of this. Katsuki motives suck. He doesn’t deserve to be a hero. He’s a brat who wants to be a hero for his own purposes and that’s to have the legal right to bear people up so he could usurp All Might’s throne. MHA overrates his quirk too. It’s a mid-tier quirk at best that gets hard countered and/or outright dwarfed by so many quirks (harden, steel, half hot half cold, barrier, hellfire, dupli-arms, Dark Shadow, copy, rewind, Overhaul, OFA, AFO, wings, lizard tail splitter, new world order, creation, and earphone jack are just some of the quirks that are either way more useful, powerful, or hard counter explosion).

I have gone through all my ao3 subs and I am desperate to find this mha fic where izuku is hit with a poison quirk and is dangerously close to dying but they find the antidote and the entire time the dekusquad is pushing bakugo for information on his health status while being absolute jerks to the point that they make mamadoriya cry and when izuku gets better everyone tries to act like everything is normal but hagakure secretly compiled a video of all the stuff the dekusquad said to bakugo because bakugo is his primary caretaker and they don’t like that and it causes a big confrontation between izuku and the dekusquad

OKAY SO TO EXPLAIN A FEW CANON DIVERGENCIES [ manga spoilers ] i apologize it's so long and i'm rambling -

kurogiri - instead of dying and being turned into kurogiri, sero had passed by the fight that was going on, and by recognizing a younger version of his teachers [ aizawa / hizashi ], took oboro's place by pushing him out of the way of the villain. present day, oboro is alive and enjoys a life with his two best friends, though is obsessed with finding sero / thanking him, as he was believed to have crushed by debris after what he told police but no body was recovered. sero is given a teleportation quirk similar to what oboro was given, and is technically the league's new 'kurogiri' [ even wears a suit similar to what he wears ]

shigaraki - after dusting his entire family, young tenko is roaming the streets and bumps into sero who was on a trip outside. sero takes pity on him, and reluctantly brings him to the hideout and is placed under the role of tenko's caretaker. having attached himself to the boy, all for one gave him the new name 'tenko sero', but there's the alternate 'tomura sero' as well.

dabi - toya todoroki is discovered by sero hanta on sekoto peak in the middle of a training session, and the ever growing mental instability is obvious to sero, who offers to let toya use his quirk on sero to compensate for enji not training him. these secret meetings cause toya to grow closer to sero, and toya begins to see sero in a glorious light, obsessed with the idea of someone so unbothered by his quirk and eager to use it in a way that was both healthy but productive, and wishes his father were like that. on the day of shoto’s birth, toya is noticeably more angry and upset that day, so much so that he breaks down crying to sero after a particularly strong fire that took him a while to heal from. not allowing this to continue any longer, sero offers toya to come and live with him, which toya hesitates and runs away. sero doesn’t show up at sekoto peak for years after, and toya is upset by the abandonment, regretting not answering the question. however, at the age of thirteen where he arrives at sekoto and begins burning himself up, he remembers things taught to him by sero and begins trying and succeeding in quelling his flames, which awards him claps by sero, who had never abandoned the area and always popped up every so often to check up on him. breaking down crying once more, in pain from the burns he did end up getting, toya agrees to live with sero, and they disappear as the area begins burning. nothing is left of toya, and he is believed to have disappeared, or died. not wanting to be attached to his family, his father, any longer, he begs for sero’s last name, and is granted it by all for one. todoroki toya is dead, and sero toya is born.

himiko - this detail is still in progress, but i imagine that after the whole fiasco with her crush in middle school and her disappearance, she corners sero in an alleyway and starts draining him of his blood. a detail i was thinking of is that sero's blood is ,, not the best ?? like if it comes out his body it's toxic to drink and is somehow explosive ? but anyways, somehow, after ingesting his blood and beginning to fall ill, she falls unconscious and is taken by sero to the lair to be treated. fascinated by sero, and also the prospect of a new home where she won't be judged and is more or less welcome [ dabi and shigaraki aren't the welcoming bunch but they deal with it for sero - ], she invites herself to stay in the lair, and takes on sero's last name and labelling him as a sort of brotherly figure.

i was thinking that maybe sero had met midoriya / bakugo in their younger years during the opening scene of the anime, when they were in the park. but instead, i'm thinking they officially meet during an alternate usj arc, where towards the end of the battle, sero sacrifices himself [ to a few gunshot wounds ] to get tenko + co. out of there and is taken into custody by police, and is offered a place in ua's general department.

some other details i came up with were ;

whenever sero healed, he gained a noticable scar on his body, and he wears stuff [ long sleeves, long pants, turtlenecks ] that covers the entirety of him because he's self-conscious of the multitude of scars that built up over the years [ and also thinks people might stare and be disgusted ].

because of the timeleap, sero is legally a john-doe as there is nothing in police records that mentions someone by his name, no blood work, no family, nothing. his actual family is out there, and he would be genetically related to them, but they would only have their other children and not him [ my headcanon is that he has a mom, dad, and triplet younger siblings - 2 girls and a boy named sho ].

almost everyone knows him as sero, as he felt, after a while, his first name didn't matter, but eventually he tells someone it during a emotional moment. [ " ... hanta . sero hanta . that's my actual name. why i never said anything ? ahaha, ... well, after a while my first name didn't seem anything important. "]

he's older than literally everybody except all for one by a few thousand years [ not sure how old all for one is but imagine that plus 25, since that's around the age he died in the original timeline ]

for a while in the timeline he forgot why he was even thrust back in time, but it was the meeting with oboro that made him remember his purpose.

sero technically has three quirks ; his original tape quirk, teleportation, and regeneration / immortality. the last one doesn't count, and sero doesn't know what or who gave it to him. [ the reason for this was that i imagine the bnha god ! au version of himself heard his prayer and granted it, and that maybe the god versions of themselves oversaw the world - it's a weird au ]

i haven't figured a concrete reason on how he meets the canon cast / how he ends up in ua. it's either the alternate usj arc that i mentioned, or he was sent to participate in ua's entrance exam and become a part of ua to keep an eye on aoyama to make sure he didn't do anything stupid / get caught [ cause of the whole traitor thing ] .

sero will only die once the villains are defeated, he'll most likely live until his twenties like last time and die officially, but y'know - it'll be hard for him to defeat people he's grown to love and care about.

Bakugo (🧨) - he/him, prosecutor

Bakugo is a fictive from the manga My Hero Academia. He was an anger holder until Jason formed, now he fronts to be outwardly aggressive when necessary. In a relationship with partner system's Uraraka

Beau (💅) - he/they, caretaker

Beau looks after the body itself, often taking front to get dressed and follow skincare routines etc

Bingo (🐞) - she/her, little

Bingo is one of our littles who's just happy to sit with a colouring book and play with our partner system's littles or with the bugs in the garden

Bunny (🐰) - she/her, little

Bunny's very shy, and isn't often verbal. She's very fond of soft animals and will often be the one to front when the body can't sleep

Dick Grayson (DG) - he/him, caretaker

Fictive, and Jason's older brother (both in source and system). Honorary Older Sister, will often help with emotions needs

As another Older Sister, Iris holds a lot of the femininity (baby fever, parental emotions, shark week, etc) within the system to keep those emotions from headmates who would perhaps get dysphoric or just generally upset from those thoughts

Fictive of Jason Todd from DCU. Very similar to Ian, he's rather solitary and prefers the company of sourcemate npcs in the innerworld. He's taken to reading through the TBR list and will sometimes join Ewan for music sessions, and has taken up vaping apparently

The newest Older Sister, slightly more social, she's good at being rather protective of the system. She's feminine in the mean girl way? She's very upfront and we love that for her, and she's very into her paranormal horror

Sys is the 'control panel' of the system, and very rarely steps into front. Sys focuses more on finding roles that need to be filled and forming headmates to fill that role

Techno (🐷) - he/him, cheergiver

A fict/factive of both c! and cc! Technoblade, and formed to help Tommy's loneliness after we picked up playing minecraft again after cc passed. (I don't need to say this, but please dont mention or ask about his passing.)

Thanks for your thoughts on ochako! 💯 Really hoping she'll be the hero that brings better change in hero society. With what she has with toga, their whole thing going on and the fact that none of the other heroes even want to try in any way that's different, it seems like it's really down to her. Do you feel the same?

I did feel like a lot was definitely gonna be up to her. But that was before we've gotten the stuff with Spinner and Kurogiri from past chapters so my feelings have changed a bit.

We're due for a POV shift soon. Definitely to Toga and Uraraka given that they're one of the major fights that we haven't seen the most of in a while.

While I think that Uraraka is gonna try to somehow reason with Toga, show her that she's sorry and that she thought a lot about their last fight, I'm a bit worried about the fact that they're not alone this time.

I feel like Tsu is gonna get in the way somehow. She does seem to have a more rigid way of thinking, with her calling her classmates villains for trying to go save Bakugo that one time, (showing the overall flaw of hero society where someone can be simply labeled a "villain" to be shamed and punished for messing in any way with the status quo)

This is not a Tsu hate post or anything, obviously. But I think she's gonna be like Gran Torino, telling her that maybe Toga can't be saved, and maybe try to reason with her to just do her job as a hero and take Toga down.

Given that she had to take the role of a caretaker sometimes for her brother and sister, I don't put it past her to wanna go back to simpler times for the sake of them both despite those not being simpler timer for everyone. But that's the mindset every hero has right now so.

I do wanna see Uraraka being able to have a moment with Toga that changes them both before Kurogiri shows up to teleport her away but for the time being, I'm just waiting.

Waiting for her words to at least reach Deku and make him realize that there's more to Tomura than lil old scared Tenko. That he's his own person with his own wants and desires and friends he doesn't wanna abandon.

"Hey, dumbass. What has you looking so down?"

      It was funny, honestly, how Katsuki had such a way with words. If it was anyone else, perhaps you'd be offended, but you knew that's just how Bakugo was. His tone was rough, but his eyes were soft as he stood in front of you, looking down at where you currently sat, slightly curled up in a ball at your desk.

      You hadn't noticed, but you probably did look a little down. "That time of the month" had come around, and your cramps felt like your insides were being ripped apart and chomped on by an angry chihuahua. All you wanted to do was lay in bed until the pain went away, but alas, you still had classes for the day. Luckily for you, it was the last period of the day, so all you had to do was survive the next 45 minutes before you could go back to the dorms.

      Bakugo was still looking down at you with concern hidden behind his usual scowl.

     "Well? What's wrong? Do I need to blast someone to bits, or what?"

You couldn't help but laugh at his immediate jump to violence. He always was so protective of you, after all, he should be. He did just so happen to be your boyfriend. You shook your head as a small smile came to your lips.

     "No, it's nothing like that. It's just cramps kicking my ass for now."

You rested your head down on your desk for a minute as the pain kicked in, eyes screwed shut in a pained grimace. Why did you have to be cursed with a uterus?

      You felt as a warm hand was placed on your back, willing you to relax a bit as Bakugo rubbed your back. His voice lowered as he leaned down to kiss your temple.

     "Just hold on another 40 minutes baby, then we'll get you back to my room for the night, okay?"

All you could manage was a nod before Bakugo had to take his seat before Aizawa would get mad at him.

     The next 40 minutes passed in a daze; you were too focused on the pain in your stomach to even remember what the lesson was about. You went to grab your bag to leave, but your hand was tugged back before you could pick it up.

     "Don't even try, let me."

Bakugo grabbed your bag off the ground, giving a slight smirk at the way your eyes softened. He wrapped an arm around your waist, ignoring the snickers he heard from the back of the class as he went to leave with you. Why should he give a damn about what a bunch of wanna-be-hero extras thought? You were his, and he was heavily proud of that fact. His uncaring attitude didn't stop him from throwing a hard glare their way, however, and anyone poking fun knew better than to continue.

      You leaned against his side as you two walked back to the dorms, finding comfort in the sweet scent of caramel as he idly rubbed your back on the way. The cramps still hadn't let up, and all you wanted to do was curl up in a ball and not move. By the time you and Bakugo got to his dorm room, he decided he'd be better off carrying you, so you were soon swept off your feet and later placed onto his bed.

     "Stay here for a minute, and don't even think about moving. I'm gonna grab some of your stuff so you can stay the night."

You knew better by now than to argue with him, so all you did was give a tired nod as you grabbed his pillow from his bed and hugged it till he got back. You noticed then that Bakugo had left one of his hoodies hanging off the back of his chair by his desk. It still smelled like him when you grabbed it, and you figured he wouldn't mind if you borrowed it, especially considering you didn't feel good. It was rare for the hero-to-be to say no to you for anything, especially if you weren't feeling well.

      Bakugo came back a few moments later, carrying a change of clothes, blanket, some snacks, and your pillow, when he stopped in his tracks. You looked so small and worn out from where you were curled up in his bed, wearing *his* hoodie. It made something swell in his chest as he set your things down, cheeks tinted pink as he tried to regain his usual cocky attitude.

     "Missed me that much, huh? I was only gone a few minutes." He reached out a gentle hand to smooth over your hair, his quirk making his touch warm and comforting. His cheeks flushed slightly as you looked up at him with tired eyes, and he couldn't get over how adorable you looked. You were swimming in his hoodie, and his heart was picking up speed the longer he looked at you. You gave a simple nod, reaching for the clothes he had brought you while Bakugo turned his back to let you get changed.

      It always broke his heart whenever you didn't feel good, but at the same time he adored taking care of you in his own simple ways. He may not be able to change the fact that you were wracked with pain every month, but he could be there by your side to comfort you, and offer his shoulder as a cozy place to rest your head on. His hands were always warm, and you had found that they worked wonders when the cramps got bad. He always looked forward to the day you felt better, but until then, he would enjoy his role as your caretaker.

     A gentle tug to the back of his shirt brought him out of his thoughts as Bakugo turned to look back at you. A pair of sweatpants hung off your hips and his hoodie had swallowed you up as you tugged him into his bed. You gave him your best version of puppy eyes as he pulled him closer to you.

     "Can I just lay on you for now? You're cozy."

     "Whatever you want sweetheart, you know that."

He happily let himself be pulled down into his bed, relaxing against his pillows while you curled up on his chest. He always acted as though it were no big deal whenever you curled up to him, but on the inside, Bakugo always hoped to god you couldn't hear the way his heart pounded in his chest. His skin felt warmer than usual any time he held you, and either you never noticed, or you simply didn't complain. Either way, Bakugo was content.

     It wasn't long until his fingers were carding through your hair, one hand resting on your head while his other traced and massaged along your lower back. Your eyes drooped as he held you, cramps slowly going away with the feeling of his hand on your back. He hummed softly as he traced over your skin, happy with knowing you trusted him enough to care for you at times like these. Bakugo was never one to get sappy, he always hated the "honeyed bullshit" as he called it, but he truly wouldn't change nights like this for the world. Not with the way you looked up at him with the biggest eyes. You always found a way to make him feel like he was #1 with everything. #1 hero, #1 student, and most importantly, #1 boyfriend.

      The night wore on as you fell asleep against his chest, lulled by the sound of his soft humming and his hands on your back, massaging any aches and pains away. His eyes were heavy as he looked down at you, but he just didn't want to fall asleep yet. He didn't want this night to end. He wanted to just hold you in his arms like this forever, obligations and responsibilities be damned. He held you like his own personal teddy bear for the night, arms heavy around you while he began to drift off. He pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead while you slept, muttering a soft,

     "G'night baby."

He let his eyes slip shut as he relaxed against his pillow, finally succumbing to sleep as you dreamed away in his arms.

This is some crack that’s been on my mind but can I request hc’s of Sero, Bakugo, Hawks, and Dabi reactions to an s/o that has a high pain tolerance and she could handle the damage with an innocent smile? She could fall from a high distance and her back could snap on a jagged rock and she’ll just crawl to a teacher or nearest ally and say “My spine broke, can I go to the hospital? :D”(her crush can carry her to recovery girl or care for her as she recovers), Her arm could break and she’ll snap it back in places like it’s nothing, and she’ll even land on her head and when she sits up with a crooked neck, she’ll just say “Well this is a new one 😮”

(A/N: sometimes I wish I had a high pain tolerance as a kid so I didn’t have to cry every single time I sprained my ankle 💀and I hope it’s fine if the reader is their s/o.)

Bakugou will literally get worried for you, because ??? What if you get badly injured and you don’t even notice??

Then he realizes maybe this is why you weren’t really reactive when Todoroki’s flames got too close to you like Todoroki kept apologizing and you’re just like “Todoroki what are you talking about? I didn’t feel anything.” And then you look down at your arm and see what he means.

I feel like he’s going to be checking your body after practice he’s going lift one of your arms and then the other and if he doesn’t see blood then he’s like “okay you’re good.”

When you do get injured he’s running super fast to recovery with you either A. On his back or B. Legit carrying you bridal style.

You’re hanging onto dear life yelling at him to slow down.

(Teachers are also going to be yelling at him too for running in the halls lol)

Once you guys make it to recovery girl he keeps babbling on things on what happened and you have to put your hand on his mouth to make him stop.

“I just sprinted my wrist recovery girl.”

It’s a quick heal lol.

You didn’t tell him at first so he kind of had to learn the hard way when you were making tea for him and you.

You accidentally spilled the hot tea on your lap and he quickly shot up from his chair ready to hear you yelp in pain but.. he didn’t hear anything from you?

You just looked down and sighed “I just washed this shirt yesterday.. bummer I’m going to go get changed.” You said leaving.

You left Sero completely confused.

When you came back he was asking so many questions like if that was part of your quirk where you didn’t feel pain.

You’re like “what? No babe I just have a high tolerance pain.”

Yeah now he’s concerned.

Feeling pain was the only way for your body to alert you when you’re hurt and he was so scared that if you ever gotten injured you wouldn’t notice.

Does what Bakugou does and checks you’re body after training.

You’re like :| while he does it.

Freaks out the most being a pro hero is a dangerous job especially when there times when heroes have to engage in a physical fight.

So when you told him you had a high pain tolerance he was getting really worried.

He knew you could take care of youself, but still like the others what if you didn’t notice you were injured and didn’t treat it right away?

You have to reassure him a couple of times that you often check your body to make sure nothing you didn’t injured youself or didn’t break a bone.

Always sends a message saying “are you okay? You’re not hurt right? If you are I’ll come right away.”

You have to quickly send him a text saying you’re fine because baby boi gets really nervous:(

If you do get injured though just expect hawks to become a caretaker for you (which you don’t mind but you wished he would just at least let you use the bathroom by youself.)

He’s like those videos where people’s pets will wait outside the door for their owner.

Yeah he’s going to think it’s cool 💀

Midoriya Izuku:

this little guy is the cutest thing you’ve ever seen

izu is on the shorter side standing only about 3 ¾ inches tall

but don’t let that height fool you bc he’s a ball of energy!

he’s a chatterbox so if that’s not your game, good luck sis

but he’s so cute and his voice is so tiny how could you not love him

your pocket hero is so encouraging of you

for every assignment, he’ll sit by your hand and cheer you on

it’s impossible to give in to temptation and skip an assignment/call off work bc he’ll puff his chubby cheeks out and pout

he knows it’s tough, but you can do it! there’s nothing you can’t do!

although, if you need to take a break for your mental health, he’ll immediately stop and climb up into your neck to comfort you

makes posters with sticky notes he finds around bc he’s your biggest fan

sits by you during class and takes his own notes so that you two can compare

he doesn’t want you to miss anything important

 you get such good grades bc of deku ong

izuku’s fav place to be is in your shirt pocket or in your cleavage, behind the collar of your shirt with his little head sticking out

it’s bc he likes to be near to your heart

it makes him feel safe and close to you

if you get really stressed out, izu will cry for you

he hates it when you’re distressed and won’t be able to think clearly until you’re okay

his whimpers are so sad it literally pains my heart

your pocket hero loves when you bring him up to your cheek so he can latch on and nuzzle you

he’s highkey attached to your hip

he’s not afraid to use puppy dog eyes if you tell him he needs to stay home when you go out

7 times out of 10, you give in

but when it’s necessary for him to stay, he’ll sadly mope around until he hears the door open and runs to you

deku’s got this huge smile on his face that could make the coldest man crack

his tiny footsteps are so cute ughhhh

uses ofa to jump to your face so you can catch him and give him cuddles until he’s satisfied

Bakugo Katsuki:

katuski stands at a whopping 4 ½ inches which is about average

but this particular pocket hero has a bad case of small dog syndrome

make fun of how small he is at your own risk

bc this little dude bites

bakugo’s a hardass about your responsibilities

like the man will not let you procrastinate!

if he catches you slipping, he’ll pull on your ear lobes

screams at you and threatens to blow you up with his tiny explosions too for good measure

you don’t have the heart to tell him his quirk feels like a flick from a two year old

his yelling is kinda scary tho despite sounding like a preschool kid on helium

nevertheless, pls trust that this little guy loves you and only wants the best for you

you don’t catch how he gets up extra early every morning and organizes your desk to the best of his abilities (some of your stuff is heavy)

or how he’ll spend hours going through your music and making playlists to help you study

bakugo complains about doing it, but he’s always down to go through flashcards with you

he’s a smart cookie and has got a keen memory so trust he won’t let you half-ass/forget any important assignments and exams

if you have at least three inches of hair, bakugo likes to stand on the top of your head and tug on your strands to “make you move” like you're under his control

you humor him every time

although, there was one time you threw your head to the side and he almost fell off bc he called you a bad word and you weren’t having it

Todoroki Shouto:

if izu and katsuki are the angel on your right, shouto’s the devil on your left

don’t get me wrong, the little guy will suggest you do your work

but…if you can still get the grade you want and skip out on a few things, who is he to say otherwise

a strong advocate of work smarter, not harder LMAOOO

you secretly think it’s bc he likes to take as many naps as he can with you

anyways, shouto is about 4 ¾ inches in height give or a take a couple centimeters

he’s got an unnaturally deep voice for a pocket hero

he’s very quiet, reserved most times, and will be your silent support as you go about your day

but pls don’t think he doesn’t have the slickest mouth known to man just bc he’s quiet

there was one time you asked your teacher a question and they were being difficult

you went back and forth for a few min, failing to notice the irritation growing on todoroki’s face

then he just blurted out, “and you’re supposed to have a degree in education?”

thankfully, your teacher didn’t hear him but when I tell you your heart dropped

you can’t take this man nowhere

he’s just a very sassy pocket hero

you get some lip from him too sometimes but threaten to take away his soba and he’ll shut up real quick

shouto likes to hang out on top of your head and lay there

also likes to sit on your shoulder and idly swing his legs

when you’re both bored in class, he’ll make little ice sculptures to get you more alert

you let him read articles out to you bc his voice is really soothing

todo lives for head pats or when you gently scratch his head with your finger

he’ll chase your finger if you pull away too soon

you think he purrs but shouto won’t admit to anything

when he’s feeling clingy, he’ll raise his arms up signaling for you to hold him in your hand

it’s annoying sometimes bc you need to take notes or something but does it look like this boy cares?

pick him up now!

if you get stressed, he makes you put down whatever you're doing and drink some water

forces you to take a nap if it’s really bad

all pocket heroes have a reserved “bed” so their caretaker doesn’t harm them when they sleep, but todoroki is wiling to risk death if it means curling up on your chest

your heartbeat helps him sleep easier

i wanna protect him at all costs

Even though Hori's version of events would never allow it. I've been of the opinion that Eri was suppressing her trauma for the sake of being "valuable"

The heroes never disproved Overhaul's methods, rather they brutalized him and secured their position as "correct"

Overhaul ruled through violence. He would use fear and acts of brutality to keep the status quo and ensure obedience.

Nothing he does can be questioned because he's on top and any break in that narrative leads to punishment.

The heroes do the exact same thing. They break into the Yakuza lair, pulverize any opposition and throw themselves at Overhaul until something gives.

They just became the new "authority" in Eri's life. Eri never learned the way she was treated was wrong or inhumane, she's never told that her fears are normal considering what she suffered.

Nope.

They drag her along like a little doll, have her interact with people she doesn't know and it's becoming apparent to her that this is just a repeat of what life was like before.

Eri had hoped the heroes would help her, after all they couldn't be everything Kai said they were, right?

No, the goal is to make her smile, as if that will fix her problems.

And Eri not knowing any better, agrees because she knows what happens if she disobeys.

So what if the Bakugo's aggressive to everything that moves (including her), always a hair's-end away from turning someone into paste. (Like Kai always was)

So what if the sight of Tokoyami and Dark Shadow sends her mind reeling, leaves her mouth dry and nerves shivering. (His inflection the same as the masked men)

The looks of worry and disappointment from her new minders when she fails to "smile" (whatever that is), anxiety pricking at her like the stings of wound wash and needles. (The wight of being the reason for someone's failure and death)

It doesn't matter that they've dragged her to this loud, overly bright area with too many strangers to not be overwhelming and she has no idea what's going on. They're expecting her to smile and she can't disappoint (SHE CANT). (As long as she doesn't think about the hours spent in Kai's laboratory, she'll be fine.)

She ignores the ice in her spine and rolling of her stomach as her "caretaker" gives her another disappointed stare, the horrible look in his eyes when he shuts off the one thing that gives her value yet plauges her existance. She can stomach it, as long as she keeps up a happy face. (Too much like Kai! Too much!)

When Mirio approaches her, pretending to feel guilt over using Eri, she simply shoves the dark, snarling part of herself that screams "LIAR, LIAR, LIAR!". Giving him a smile and pretending that she doesn't want to cry.

(Pretending like she didn't care when he left her in that alley and stopped her from being rescued, from her nightmare right there and then. Her hand forced to move against her will once more)

To my knowledge UA doesn't even have a therapist, so what the hell are they doing go address her trauma. Sending her to Hound Dog?!

What's worse is there's very little different from Eri's routine that she wasn't doing under Kai's oppression.

She's confined to UA, given something to eat 3 times a day and then is made to train her quirk until she tires. We have no idea how she's being educated or treated.

Going by how willing Ectoplasm was to mutilate her, I'd say fucking terrible. Because as I've been saying all that does is confirm to Eri that nothing has changed. She's still a slave with a new master and if she doesn't fall into line, lord help her.

I can't even imagine what seeing Tomura die did to her psyche. Because that had to be the final nail in the coffin for her. If she had any hope that things were different, it died then and there.

Of course, if it were anyone else but Hori perhaps we'd all be singing a different tune.

What's your opinion about eri? I mean, she's cute and pitiful, but does she seem... bland, at some points? I don't know how to put it in words but, like from writing good characters point of view, rather than the good, nice person point of view, or something?

She’s boring. Boring! My god. She’s cute and all, but with only very rare exceptions, she’s cute in the way that a stuffed animal is cute—harmless, an object to be acted upon, something to be plucked, somewhat worse for wear, out of a garage sale and taken home and cleaned up, then put on the bed to sit there and look cute and be periodically cuddled.

That’s overstating things somewhat, obviously, but I think Eri was at her most interesting when she was at her most difficult—and she was never really all that difficult.

So, as I said, Eri was never really all that challenging for Deku personally, but at least back in her origin arc, we had the idea that she was difficult for the heroes to reach because she couldn’t bring herself to believe that being “saved” was a possibility for her, because Overhaul had firmly established himself in her mind as just too strong to fight. She tried to run away, of course, but she never confronted him directly, because doing so was useless, so that was the mentality she had when anyone else confronted him as well.

I liked the approach that before heroes could save her, they needed to make her believe that saving her was even within their capabilities. I liked even more that, even after they got her out of there, they immediately ran into the problem that just because they got her out didn’t mean they’d addressed her trauma. There’s fantastic nuance to the idea that a hero can get someone out of immediate danger, but if the person they saved is just dumped right back into a bad situation, or into a freefall with no social safety net, the hero has done nothing but stave off an inevitable situation where that person gets themselves into trouble again—maybe a trouble they need once more to be saved from, or maybe a trouble that now involves saving others.

The big problem with Eri is that she was just so…Easy Mode. She was easy to sympathize with because she was little and cute and wounded (but in a clean way). She wasn’t angry and disillusioned like Kouta was. She was never creepy and covered in blood and smiling in a weird way like Tenko was. She was tattered and hurt-looking enough to make viewers want to take care of her, but not so much so that she became uncomfortable to look at. Possibly because Overhaul is a clean freak, she was never dirty or grubby; she had those big doe eyes and a perpetually sad or scared face, rather than being angry or—what seems more likely for her situation—completely shut down emotionally. There’s basically no one who could reasonably look at her and think, “I don’t know; I don’t know if trying to rescue that person is worth our time and effort.”

Compare this to victims like Tenko: also a child, but one who looked off-putting enough that people kept shying away from him. Or try Bakugou instead: older, less sympathetic, so he got hints dropped by a reporter that he might have gone villain already and no longer needed to be “saved.” This scales all the way on up to e.g. the Noumu, the all-out villains, the masses of the PLF, and so on.

One of the things that strikes me as most interesting about Eri from a narrative perspective is how clearly saving her serves as a prelude to saving Shigaraki. From manifesting (alleged) quirk mutations that lead to them killing their parents, to being picked up, abused and manipulated by villains, all the way from rejecting heroes’ attempts to save them despite how obviously they need it down to their very coloring, Eri was obviously a dry run for Shigaraki. She therefore serves as a highly useful comparison point for how things are liable to go with Shigaraki.

The trouble for me is that there’s no middle ground there. Eri is the version of Shigaraki who’s nice and sweet and easy to save, who doesn’t lash out, whose ignorance or warped understanding of morality and social norms goes no further than the extremely on-the-nose “doesn’t know how to smile.” Her issues all basically get resolved in the space of a school concert, with no further plot time dedicated to e.g. her long-term housing situation, her schooling, or her upbringing outside of training her quirk.(1)

That by itself makes her not as interesting as she would be if the horrific situation she was rescued from were allowed to influence her in more realistic, ongoing ways, but it’s particularly annoying because it makes her—well, not even much of a dry-run for Shigaraki, either.

I’ve seen people suggest that Eri isn’t the preview for Shigaraki, but rather the Good End of Shigaraki: the version that suggests that children like Tenko are not beyond help if they’re helped in time. I don’t think that’s Horikoshi’s intent myself,(2) as there’s far too much of the series’ overall tone riding on the matter of saving Shigaraki, but I can understand why some people who don’t care about the villains might get to that conclusion, because there’s so little bridge between them, so little that points in the direction from Eri towards Shigaraki.

Deku is thick-headed. It’s clear at this point that he doesn’t see this stuff until it’s shoved in front of him while someone yells in his ear about it, ideally while crying. I suspect that’s why we have Crying Inner Five-Year-Old Tenko, because Deku and/or the narrative has been so bad at establishing a continuous line between where Eri was when heroes saved her and where Shigaraki is now. Thus, instead of a line that points from Eri to Shigaraki, Vision!Tenko becomes a line that points backwards, as if Deku hasn’t matured in his understanding of how to save people at all.

I wish it didn’t have to be that way, and one way we might have had a Deku who didn’t need that psychic vision would have been an Eri who was a little bit farther down Shigaraki’s road to begin with.

On the other big consideration with Eri, her power and the role it will play in the narrative, I have less to say. I used to be extremely concerned that she would be used to rewind Shigaraki back to his child self (which is, to quote a webcomic, “just a complicated way of annihilating the person [he] is today”), but I don’t really think that’s on the table at this point. Her ability to rewind people is tied to her horn, a finite resource, and going by how much it shrank when all she did was rewind Mirio six months, the amount of it growth she would need to rewind Shigaraki 16+ years is just not something I think is feasible.

Also too, there’s been no indication thus far that people who get rewound lose their memories of the intervening period, and what has it actually fixed in Shigaraki’s psychology if you just put his current mindset back in the body of a five-year-old, probably against his wishes?

That just leaves the prospect of healing fatal wounds, and while that’s possibly an option, it would be so time-consuming that you’d quickly run into the same problem—if she had a good build-up she could help a number of people whose injuries were all relatively recent, or one person who’d been out of commission for some time, but until the heroes figure out what her accumulation condition is,(3) they’re stuck waiting for her horn to build up naturally. She might have one more major play in the story, but it’s going to have be either saving one person on very recently injured with the little horn she has available right now, or it’s going to be in the epilogue, and either way, I’m not expecting her to come in and handwave Shigaraki back to harmlessness.

That, of course, is setting aside the fact that keeping Eri around for no reason but that her quirk is potentially convenient for the heroes is only less dehumanizing than what Overhaul was doing to her because the heroes aren’t literally enacting medical torture on her in the meantime. Seriously, let that girl find something—anything—else to do with her life. It’d go a long way towards helping flesh her out as a character beyond the sad waif who needs to be made to smile again because no one likes it when cute girls aren’t smiling or the heal spam button whose only relevance to the plot is who she’s undoing consequences for today.(4)

Aside: ...I am, it must be said, somewhat annoyed at the idea that Mirio needed his powers back to be a hero. Jesus wept, guys, he’s a third-year high school student who fought Overhaul solo for five full minutes while protecting a helpless child, possibly still under the effects of a quirk wreaking havoc on his sense of equilibrium, and quirkless. I’m not saying it’s bad for him to want his quirk back, or bad for Eri to want to restore him, but why in god’s name was someone that good at fighting ever pulled out of the Hero course? Fuck’s sake. He could never have gotten his quirk back at all and he would still have been, exactly as Nighteye predicted, as fine a hero as any.

Thinking about it takes me right back to one of my early objections to the entire premise of Deku as a character: "Wait, why would he need a super-power to be a hero? Hasn't the author ever heard of [long list of American superheroes who fight crime with entirely mundane talents and abilities]?" I got past that question for Deku because the legacy power plotline is more interesting anyway, but I shouldn't have needed to get past that question for Mirio because Mirio would have been a goddamn amazing way to address the entire setting's belief that people are defined by the quirks, for better or for worse, and a great way to challenge Midoriya to continue deepening his understanding of what it means to be a hero.

1: I mentioned this once before in, I want to say, one of the MVA In Memorium posts, but it’s striking that Eri is reassured by even the main character that her quirk is kind and gentle, rather than Deku reassuring her that she is herself a good person. Person and quirk are completely conflated, and while I’m sure it was a nice thing for Eri to hear in the moment, what with Chisaki having tried to pour so much poison in her ear about how cursed her quirk was (more, one suspects, to keep her easy to handle than because Overhaul himself believed such spiritualistic nonsense), it becomes a lot more problematic when you consider that Eri is staying at the school entirely on the understanding that Aizawa and the rest are helping her train her quirk. Absolutely no mention is given to the rest of her development as a human being and citizen of the world.

2: Largely because, “Every victim has an expiration date, and if they don’t get saved or somehow manage to save themselves before then, too bad; now they have to die,” is a monstrous read on the material and its genre.

3: Hmm. I wonder if there’s someone the heroes could ask about that. Someone they have in custody and who has something he very badly wants that it wouldn’t hurt anyone to grant him in exchange for his knowledge of the workings of Eri’s quirk. No? Oh, well. Guess everyone’s just going to have to suffer in the meantime.

hey! if you don’t mind me asking, i was just wondering about your point on fictive only systems? i’ve never read about the actual science behind how that can’t be a valid thing that happens so i was just wondering if you could elaborate :)

so i’ve been waiting to answer an ask like this for a while because i haven’t had the energy for answering this ask with my full, detailed explanation of what i mean, but i’ve got time and energy right now on my day off, so let me elaborate on the idea that “fictive-only systems don’t exist”.

first of all, of course you haven't read anything about the “actual science” how fictive-only systems can’t be a valid thing. there's hardly much literature on introjects/fictives/etc in the first place, let alone fictive/introject-heavy and similar systems, lol. so, jot that down.

i’ll start with the basics, though: defining the difference between a true introject and what most people call fictives. the difference may be frivolous to some, but in order to understand DID fully, it’s actually very important to recognize the difference, and there *is* a difference. however, that doesn’t make either alter any more or less valid for existing the way they do, i will note that.

true introjects rarely form outside of childhood, and form because of severe dissociation and the innocence and naivete of the child brain, as well as trance logic, causes a break in reality where a child splits a part that believes they are an outside source. these alters identify heavily with their source material before integration (breaking down dissociative barriers and increasing communication). they are a specific kind of alter, and the most commonly documented introjects are introjects of real life people the person knew as a child, such as caretakers and abusers. when you have a true introject alter, they introject the whole, full identity--or at least how they subconsciously perceive that person/character--of the person they’re imitating, with little to no changes save for how the individual in specific interprets this person’s behavior.

another thing about true introjects is that you cannot become one, you can only split as an introject. you cannot “absorb sources” or even really be an introject with multiple sources--that’s just how people work, if you know anything about how *everyone* introjects. i’ll go more into that later.

what most people in the community call fictives are very often NOT true introjects, but merely alters that have taken on some aspects of a fictional character, including appearance, some mannerisms, and pseudomemories to fill in the blanks. let me explain the difference. this is how you get bakugo alters that don’t scream at people all the time, they’re not true introjects. they don’t take on the full identity, i liken it to an alter splitting off and “kinning” an outside source and using them as a template to build their own personal identity. it’s not done intentionally though, as far as i can tell it’s all done subconsciously. i’ve seen this specific thing happen quite a bit with previously-existing fragments that suddenly latch onto an identity become more elaborated, and sometimes people interpret this as splitting a new fictive when that’s not the case. this is why i differentiate between fictives and introjects personally.

so there’s me defining my definitions for the differences of true introjects vs. fictives, based on the clinical literature of DID, and the clinical definition of what an introject alter is.

however, one thing people do is conflate true introjects with fictives quite a bit, which shows that they don’t fully understand how introjection in DID works. it may not be the most important thing in the world to differentiate true introjects from non-true introjects, but knowing that there even is a difference and knowing what the difference is can be key to understanding your system and how DID works. it’s a good show of being able to see who has and hasn’t done their research on DID as well, and who’s misinformed.

yes, an alter taking an outside source and basing their identity off of that is technically a form of introjection, but that does not an introject make, because all of your alters experience introjection. you experience introjection. everyone experiences introjection, DID or not, but to be an introject alter, you introject an entire identity, not just small aspects or behaviors or mannerisms or appearances or etc.

when most people say “introject” in the DID community, they mean “fictive”, so when i talk about how you can’t have “fictive only systems”, i’m mostly trying to relate to the community in the terminology it tends to use, and say that you cannot have an “introject-only system”. even then, i’d be hard pressed to say that you can have a fictive only system even by my definition of the word, but who knows.

so here are my main points:

most of the DID community doesn’t really know what a true introject alter *actually* is.

you cannot *only* introject.

sure, you can probably be fictive/introject heavy in DID. but you cannot have only introjects, and you’d be hard pressed for me to believe you could have only fictives unless you were not experiencing DID, in which case that is not my field, live your life.

inb4 someone tries to bring up the subject of fusion and how you can “become” an introject through fusion: no you can’t, that’s not how fusion works. fusion requires a high level of integration between two or more parts, and by that point, an introject part is probably not as connected to their source material as they used to be. it might still mean something to them, but integrating with the rest of the system is the removal of dissociation and dissociative barriers, meaning that they are becoming more connected with their real, bodily life than they are with their source material, source memories, etc, so an introject alter fusing with another introject alter or a non-introject alter is more likely to just not produce an introject alter at all as the final result.

this is of course going over introject alters fusing with other fully elaborated parts, with fragments it may be different, with little to no changes at all, or small ones in general, such as feeling more of a specific emotion they couldn’t feel much of before.

so no, you can’t fuse and “become” an introject, you might feel a connection with the source material if you fuse with an introject, maybe even a strong one, but that doesn’t make YOU personally, as the fused alter, an introject alter *inherently*.

so TL;DR

when i said that, i mean that you cannot have an introject-only system, but may have misworded or worded things confusingly, thus having what i said be misinterpreted due to me trying to word things in a way that the majority of the DID community would understand without having to go into a long post like this one overexplaining what i mean. but i hope this overexplanation helps you understand what i meant, anon, even though this was asked a long time ago.

headcanons for Bakugou, Todoroki and Sero (or anyone else you want to add) turning into cats via quirk and their crush just thinks it's a stray cat wandering the dorms so they pet it, give them love, feed them (human cat safe food), compliment them and take pictures and they're just eating it all up, the attention. The temptation to put a cucumber near them is strong

Bakugo Katsuki

○ one day as you’re going down to the kitchen to grab some breakfast as usual you spot a small blonde cat curled up in the middle of the hallway

○ the cat’s very hostile too, hissing at anyone who tries to approach him. Kirishima’s the only one who doesn’t get all scratched up

○ and after Koda tries and fails to talk to the cat and ends up running away looking traumatized, everyone makes sure to stay at least six feet away from the angry fluffball that had made their dorm his home

○ when you try to approach the cat glaring at you from its spot on the floor your classmates scream at you not to do it, not wanting you to get all scratched up either

○ the cat had scratched up Todoroki’s face, and no one was happy about resident pretty boy’s face being damaged even a little

○ but apparently you’re in the clear. the cat lets you get close enough to pat his soft fur gently without him trying to injure you at all

○ so you become his designated caretaker until your class figures out what to do with him

○ looking at the cat, you wanted to show Bakugo much much the cat resembled him, but surprisingly he’s not there, and when you get to class Aizawa says that he’s taken an excused absence for family affairs, so you don’t really think about it much, just a little bummed he couldn’t meet the cat until he came back to school

○ he’s always with you wherever you go, sitting on your lap as you work and even curling up next to you when you go to sleep

○ you take lots of pictures of the cat and with him too, cooing at the small animal and telling him how adorable he was, giving him gentle kisses on his face

○ you’ve just become so accustomed to the cat in your life over the next week 

○ so when you wake up one morning to see Bakugo of all people next to you in your bed your heart nearly jumps out of your chest 

○ like why is your crush in your bed???

○ but you don’t say anything, deciding that you might as well savor the moment and admire how peaceful he looked when he was asleep and not yelling at people

○ that’s when you realize the cat is gone but now Bakugo’s here

○ and it doesn’t take much for you to connect the dots and realize that the cat was him all along

○ there’s no indication as to where the cat came from or where you should return him to, so you just settle for taking care of him until you figure out what to do with him

○ fixing him a little fish and a water bowl so that he wouldn’t be hungry 

○ petting him gently as you watch him gently lap up some water, and you’re struck by how much the cat resembles your crush

○ most of his fur’s white, save for a little splotch of brown on his left eye, and he also had heterochromic eyes just like Todoroki

○ so you call the cat Todo-chan, and since he seems to respond to the name it just kind of sticks

○ he’s a relatively calm cat, and most of the him he just sits there next to you quietly, blinking up at you with his bi-colored eyes

○ and you come to realize that he /loves/ belly rubs. at first you’re really surprised that the cat even let you go anywhere near his stomach, but you don’t worry about it too much when he starts purring softly from your actions

○ he’s also a great listener too, and he seems to understand you when you talk to him about your worries, and the way he softly nuzzles your stomach and tries to wrap his body around you like a hug always makes you feel a lot better after you let all your worries out

○ although at first he’s not really that touchy of a cat, over time he starts to open up more to you, coming over to sit on your lap while you work, but never disturbing you too much

○ one day you’re curled up in bed with him, talking quietly about how much you missed Todoroki ever since he had to suddenly return home and take an extended absence from school for a “family event”

○ telling the small cat next to you about your feelings for the boy and talking about how you wanted to get closer to him

○ you slowly fall asleep in the middle of your words, and when you wake up Todo-chan’s nowhere to be seen for the first time since you met him

○ you’re surprised that he even knew you wanted them, since you hadn’t told anyone about them to your knowledge

○ he calmly tells you that he had been hit by a quirk that turned him into a cat for the last few days and that’s why he wasn’t at school, and you quickly realize what he’s trying to tell you

○ you’re embarrassed to have told him so many of your weird thoughts, but he stops you and tells you that he was glad he knew more about you now, apologizing for not telling you sooner

○ and he confesses to you, admitting that he never tried to act on his feelings for you before because he wasn’t sure whether you returned them

○ “I’ve liked you for a long time, Y/N, and I don’t want to waste any more time being a coward and hiding my feelings from you.”

Sero Hanta

○ from the moment Aizawa had showed up to class, announced that your class would temporarily be taking care of a cat and immediately followed it up by saying that Sero wouldn’t be in school for a few days due to “personal reasons” and not to contact him, you had a sneaking suspicion that the cat was no normal cat

○ it didn’t take you too long to guess what had happened and assume that Sero had somehow been transformed into a cat

○ it was no secret that Sero had a crush on you, and the only reason you two aren’t officially dating was simply because he never asked you out

○ and the cat not only looked like him, but was also always attached to you, literally

○ sitting in your lap in class, and even sleeping next to you in your bed

○ so you figured you would use the chance to have some fun with him since he thought you had no idea that the cat was in fact, your /not-official/ boyfriend

○ getting cat costumes from Aizawa for your resident class cat to try on and take photos with to laugh at him in the future (why your class teacher had a princess cat costume, you didn’t want to know)

○ and hiding cucumbers around the dorms to freak him out when he turned a corner, secretly filming his reactions when you could 

○ your class all agree to pretend not to know anything when the quirk wears off, sticking to Aizawa’s story of “personal reasons”

○ but one day you accidentally let it slip that you knew it was him all along

 “Gosh, I liked it way better when you were a cat, Hanta- god dammit!”

 “You knew it was me all along?”

 “Guess the cat’s out of the bag now.”

 “Why’d you keep on kissing me if you knew it was me?”
