beomgyu should have known better. he knows his parents think of him as little more than a pawn in their never-ending game of monopoly, and he knows that if he ever strays from the suffocating mold that they force him to shrink himself into, they will cut him off without a sliver of hesitation. he also knows he can’t really do anything about that, either, but that doesn’t make him any less surprised when they tell him that not only will he be marrying the person of their choice, but that choice is you.

you’re not the worst person beomgyu has ever met, but you’re certainly not his favorite. how could he possibly have feelings for someone as vapid and seemingly inconsequential as you? you talk during important meetings with your equally as silly friends, your wild nights out are plastered on every tabloid in the country nearly every week, and you have no problem with trying to blow the fortune your daddy has so graciously decided to continue supplying you with even in the face of your many, many indiscretions. you’re so stupid and so spoiled, he’s surprised your doting father even agreed to subjugating you to this sham of a marriage. well, he guesses even the most spoiled of brats are just chess pieces to their parents at the end of the day.

beomgyu should know better than to refuse his parents, and he does — he really, really does, but as he sits with his family and your own during an almost cartoonishly extravagant dinner at his place, he finds that he just can’t take it anymore. they're going over numbers and figures — you know, the logistics of this prospective marriage — and you just smile and nod along with every new point. you even take to giggling when his father boasts about the potential profits, and it’s like even the vows “til death do us part” would earn a snicker from you. do you not understand how serious this is? you’re about to be chained to him for life, so how could you laugh at a time like this? if he didn’t know your life has been nothing but sunshine and rainbows since birth, he certainly knows now. he’d rather die than be promised to someone like you forever. no way in hell.

CHARACTERS

Minato: The friendly fisherman! He can be seen running errands for his grandparents and helping anyone who needs it. He struggles to let people past arms length and therefore doesn't have any friends, maybe you can be that for him or more.

Haruto: Your childhood friend. You’ve been together forever! Throughout elementary, middle, high school, and even college he never left your side. He would kill for you, not that he'd ever let you know if he did or...has. You'd never expect anything like that from your sweet childhood friend anyways.

Jun: Your best friends younger brother. He’s fashionable and dramatic and all your interactions with him are fun despite being exhausting. She’s admired you for so long, when will you notice her too??

Hoshi: Habiki’s younger twin brother and your coworker. He often slacks off at work but can get away with it since he’s the owners son. They wish you would let loose and have some fun too!

Habiki: Hoshi’s older twin brother. Unlike his younger brother, Habiki slacks off less, not that he’s any more pleasant to be around. Still they’ll help you if they feel like it.

Kage: A timid introvert that would rather watch you from within the shadows. He’s Haruto’s younger brother and met you through him. They were infatuated with you the more they interacted and watched you.

Kei: Smart and calculative, Kei strives to find out the most about you and his enemies through the power of hacking. He’s known you since highschool, do you remember him as well as he remembers you?

Yani: They love you! He loves you so much that he would change anything about himself! She wants you to be happy, and she’ll do anything to make sure that you are happy. It can’t wait to meet you💕

Aki: Another one of your childhood best friends. You met Aki in elementary school on your first day and you two have been by each others sides since. She really values your friendship and helps you through out this whole yandere situation. (DLC character)

I have known Carver for a while, he has always been a freak. The fact he has friends who defend him continuously still is so gross and upsetting to see. I will not lie, I've seen Carver and his relationships with other people and it feels just.. wrong. He is genuinely cultivating spaces that allow him to groom people and has for a while. I've seen dms between him and others and it's disgusting, it makes me genuinely concerned for these people well beings. This person is almost 21 and drops serious trauma on minors, who are often traumatized aswell.

Another important thing I want to touch on is how you mentioned him not treating his cultures with respect and I completely agree. He uses his cultures as a gotcha as well as something to explain stupid things, which ties into another part of this. Carver is a white-passing + male-passing individual, I have seen pictures of him. Carver was raised in a white family with "white culture", all of these cultures he claims are newly discovered. Carver says "I can't handle spicy foods because I am Sami" If he's serious or not this is just a stupid thing to say. This is not how it works, being born into a culture does not make you have a spice tolerance or a lack of one. Not only that, I've seen him try to act like he is affected by racism towards black people while mocking black culture, mocking aave, the usage of aave, and even making gross comments about the origin of aave.

Carver does not, never has, and probably never will accept he is a white-passing individual. He acts like he is oppressed for "being" Indigenous, Asian, &c. when in reality the only form of racism he experiences is online. Once he logs off, he is just another white person.

If he truly was so mixed and white-passing, one of the first steps to being able to connect is to accept you're white-passing and the privilege that follows it.

He is friends with people who like pedos, 🍇ists, racists and so much more. He isn't a good person and never has been, he cultivates horrible spaces and makes horrible friends. He never learns and never takes things seriously.
