My OC Final Draft

Damn it took so long for me to do it. But hey I did it with a seriously long period of procrastination lol. Its based off of Bakudeku. He has a brother I'm currently working on. No hating please. I'm too tired for that.

we don't talk enough about BakuDeku, whats your favorite genre of them? if that doesn't make sense um whats your favorite behavior of these two? you can include like post relationship/when they actually become friends or anything you've made up for their relationship to be like boyfriends or husbands is what i mean if that makes it more clear of a question. i love when Bakugo is in the process of warming up to being friends with Deku after they fought they just had a better vibe one that had love in it and everything from then on was genuine, the choke on my smoke- Nah-ah scene is my favorite cause Deku is testing the water if he can hit back at Bakugo and Bakugo allows it in a friendly way

Okay, so i think my favorite moment in life of them is also when they are trying to find their footing after The Apology™. I just love how they're both unsure of what their relationship/dynamic should be like right now, as much as Izuku likes to say that everything is well they're both aware that there needs to be work done to repair a lot of things. Like sometimes Bakugo will yell or scream while talking and it's his normal, but Izuku might unconsciously flinch and they both freeze a little because they know why...

So i think them putting in effort into work on the damaged bits is so beautiful to me, Bakugo makes an effort to be a little nicer (not anything too unlike him) and Izuku tries to build his confidence. I don't remember if it was here or in a fic that i read about izuku just pretending to ask Katsuki to train and hanging out after instead of just asking him out because he was afraid if it was just that Katsuki would refuse itkjvkjfd and i think that's so him, so a big step would be inviting Kacchan out for lunch, no training, no excuses, just a hang out!

as for how romantically they would evolve... i like to think they're both aware of their feelings at this point, but Katsuki bears the guilt of he needs someone better and who hasn't hurt him and izuku is set on he deserves someone better who can make him shine. I think they would start building a friendship that has some blurred lines, the connection too strong to be platonic, but neither of them is willing to admit yet they want more of each other.

Yeah they will hold hands, but they won't kiss. They will tell each other everything, but not everything. They spend most of their free time with each other, but they won't dare to share a bed at night. They will tell each other how lucky anyone would be if they go the other, but they don't tell they want to be that person, they don't want anyone else to be an option.

I think the last drop is at graduation, they have a friendship set, a functional relationship, and it works well for them. But dancing to slow music after everything, after a couple glasses of champagne, Akatsuki thinks there's not a single person on this earth that could be prettier than Izuku, he leans in and Izuku doesn't even try to resist or stop him, they kiss slow and gentle, and it's so unlike their dynamic that is always full of tension. I genuinely think when these two are together it's like the rest of the world doesn't exist around them.

They leave the party, they talk, and they're not sure where their career is gonna take them but they're sure they don't want to try a future where they're not with each other

you adored your husband—shouta aizawa—so much so, that you were his dedicated housewife. he made plenty of money as a pro hero and… enough… as a teacher, so that left you to take care of the house and your shared cat. though when he did come home he was way different than he was at work, usually at work he was all nonchalant and cold but at home he was sweet and caring, sometimes even a bit rough. his students would definitely describe him as laid back and uninterested, yet when you were around they were in awe of his personality shift.

I don't really like endhawks and it's not so much because of the age gape or the fan/idol relationship (la brava and gentle have some age gape and bakudeku are the pure description of fanatization/idolization trope and I like both of those ships), but more because endeavor literally embodies what Hawks hate the most.

Hear me out on this one, they have cute interactions but for me the fact that Hawks stayed by endeavor's side even knowing what he did to his children is kinda out of character. I mean the whole thing why keigo wanted to be a hero was to help people and make them smile because he went through abusive behavior all his life. Endeavor do save people but doesn't make them smile, not directly anyway. Hawks wanted to help the new generation, but endeavor traumatized the generation he gave birth to. Hawks wanted to be free, but endeavor stole freedom from his children (at least until he becomes number 1 and shoto comes to UA).

I understand hawks forgiving and accepting endeavor even after what he did, because hawks is so optimistic that he wants to believe eveyone can change for the better, but I don't understand him staying by endeavor's side. I mean, how traumatic would it be to discover that your idol who saved you and gave you a dream to follow did the exact same things as the person who traumatized your childhood? I see some narrative problems here. Or maybe it's just that hawks is too optimistic for his own good.

The thing is, I think Hawks so desperately needed a symbol to give him hope that he didn't even try to look more profoundly into endeavor's mistakes. Like he tried so hard to convince himself. Here we can see that hawks says he could keep up with training and abuse by the commission because someone supported him, probably implying endeavor. But it wasn't even true, hawks just chose to idealize enji because he saved him, but enji didn't know hawks before metting him as a hero, so he couldn't actually support him in his dream. I know it's only metaphoric, but it does mean that Keigo just needed something, someone to hold onto because of all the suffering he went through. And he chose endeavor, who was the only person indirectly "caring" for him.

Now maybe it's because I adore Hawks and I hate endeavor (the man and his actions, not the way he's written), but I can't imagine them in a romantic relationship. How could Hawks give his trust and love to the exact same profile as his father? How could they live together without hawks remembering the abuse? I think that even enji himself wouldn't trust his own reactions and feelings, hunted by the past. "The past never dies", and it's true for everyone in this story.

Look how similar they are. Honestly I don't really understand horikoshi on this one because if he wanted to give enji a loyal sidekick, then why give Hawks an abusive father?

Or if horikoshi wanted to give us grumpy x playful duo, then do it with dabihawks? They had so much potential to be our favorite bickering duo, and their drama would've been so good if they both knew each other before touya's death, became close during hawks undercover mission and then went through a heartbreaking breakup during touya's reveal.

Instead, we got Hawks indirectly supporting the same abuse he went through and the destruction of dabihawks' potential with the biggest absence of interactions ever after the first war.

(Also I want to add that I respect everyone's opinion and I don't hate endhawks shippers at all! It's just my point of view on the ship, everyone is free to ship whoever they want if that stays legal 🙏)

Maybe I'm going too far into the analysis (someone stop me please I'm talking too much-), but I really think that endhawks couldn't work, for hawks as much as for enji. Now the interesting thing to ask would be : would dabihawks actually work in a romantic relationship? I guess we'll never know.

It happens while on break out on patrol. Izuku watches the sunset from their usual spot on the rooftop, the wind teasing at his curls and a stern, serious set to his mouth. Uh oh. Well, it’s a good thing Katsuki has dinner and a surprise.

“Oi,” Katsuki gruffs. He tosses the bag of chips at him. “Think fast.” 

Izuku pivots, lightning quick, and snatches the bag out of the air just before it can smack him in the face. Nice reflexes. Fuck, Katsuki really is down bad if even something as small as that gets him going. His boyfriend is just so fucking sexy it drives him nuts. Izuku inspects the chip bag and ah, there’s the smile Katsuki loves so much. 

“Wow,” Izuku says. He turns it over and reads the back. “Been a minute since I’ve seen one of these.” 

“Didn’t know they still made ‘em till I spotted ‘em,” Katsuki admits. 

A brilliant stroke of luck, really. It’s the same brand they used to get all the time together as children. Katsuki had spotted them in the check out line as he was grabbing them onigiri to tide them over until they got home. Izuku tears the bag open and wrinkles his nose. 

“Oh god,” he says, laughing a little. He procures one neon-orange chip out and examines it critically. “Were they always this color?” 

“Fuck if I know,” Katsuki says, following suit and wow, okay that is pungent. He blinks several times as cheese dust assaults his face and Izuku giggles. Oh well, they never really bought these for the actual chips anyway. Katsuki shuffles through them to get the little silver packet with their prize. Izuku pops the chip into his mouth before retrieving his own and sending Katsuki a significant glance. 

“Together?” he asks. 

Katsuki’s heart softens. Fuck, he’ll never get tired of hearing that word, not after he spent so long ensuring it. Izuku grins. 

“On three,” he says. “One, two—” 

He tears his packet open before he actually says three, even though he’s the fucking one who wanted it to be on three in the first place. Katsuki hurriedly follows after with a huff of irritation. Katsuki cracks into a grin at the first hint of green.

No way. No fucking way. How—? It must be a brand new batch. Izuku had only been officially added to the roster about a year ago. The Deku on the holographic card beams up at him cheerily and fuck, Katsuki’s heart is a tender, aching thing in his chest as he admires it. Izuku, in a bag of Heroes chips, exactly where he should be. He looks up at Izuku, smiling, smiling, smiling. 

“I got a huge nerd,” he announces proudly, turning the card to show him. 

Izuku blinks up at him, glances at Katsuki’s card, and then his face crumples. He turns away, hiding his face in the palm of his hand. Katsuki takes a step toward him, already shushing and ready to soothe him-- Izuku waves a hand. 

“No, no, I’m—” Izuku cuts himself off, laughing. He holds the card he’d received to his face. “Oh my god.” 

“What?” Katsuki asks, stopping short and frowning. “You know I love huge nerds.” 

“That’s not—” Izuku shakes his head. Is… is he tearing up? He dabs at his eyes with his big, chunky gloves. He looks at his feet and his lashes cast long shadows down the curves of his freckled cheeks. “It’s just funny.” 

Katsuki frowns, feeling a little pinch of concern. “What?” 

Izuku gives him a shy little smile. He turns his card toward him, and Katsuki’s own face smirks back at him. 

“I got the love of my life,” Izuku says, sniffing. 

Oh. It punches Katsuki right in the gut. Wait, really? There’s no way. Katsuki double checks his own card just to be safe, but no, it’s real. Izuku’s laugh is somewhat choked. 

“Did you plan this?” Izuku asks, weakly. 

“No, no I—” God, Katsuki wishes he did. That would have been the romantic gesture of the century. (Well, besides funding Izuku’s suit maybe. Katsuki will admit it’s been very hard thinking of a way to top that .) It would’ve been the perfect set up to propose, dammit. Katsuki supposes he still could, but of course he didn’t bring the ring with him out on fucking patrol. He snatches the card out of Izuku’s hand and holds them side-by-side. Deku and Dynamight, both halves of the Wonder Duo. 

“Then it’s destiny,” Izuku concludes, misty-eyed and smiling. 

“Guess so,” Katsuki gruffs. He laughs too then, a soft snort of disbelief. “What are the odds—” 

“Of this happening twice?” Izuku finishes for him, all fond amusement. He shakes his head. “I dunno.” 

“That’s fucking crazy,” Katsuki says, handing Izuku’s card back over to him. 

“Mmm,” Izuku says and there’s a faraway look in his eyes. He touches the face of card-Katsuki with one tender finger and hey, what the fuck? Why is he touching the card tenderly when he’s got the real thing right here? Katsuki looms into his space, pressing a hand to the small of Izuku’s back, drawing him close, and pressing kisses to his temples and his cheeks. Not because he’s jealous of a piece of shit plastic-card, that would be fucking stupid. Still, it’s a relief when Izuku turns to meet Katsuki’s kisses with his mouth. 

“I love you,” Izuku murmurs. He wraps his arms around Katsuki’s neck and kisses him deeper. “I really, really love you.” 

He tastes like artificial cheese and damn it’s a good fucking thing they already collected all the cards worth having, because there’s no way Katsuki could have justified buying anymore chips when they taste this bad. Katsuki pulls back and wrinkles his nose. 

“Yeah, they tasted better as kids,” Izuku agrees. He boops Katsuki’s nose gently and Katsuki nips at his finger, just missing with a click of his teeth. “Kacchan?” 

Somehow. With that word alone, Katsuki immediately knows. A gong of dread thrums through him, his eyes widen. No. No fucking way. Izuku pets his arms up and down. 

“Kacchan, my love,” Izuku begins. “I’ve been thinking.” 

Katsuki has to stop this, he has to stop this immediately. But the shock of it steals the breath from Katsuki’s lungs and stops his heart in his chest. Izuku is smiling at him so sweetly it feels criminal to break it. Katsuki can only gape and let his gaze flicker over Izuku’s face over and over again. Izuku takes his hands in his own, bringing them to his lips. 

“I know it’s kind of sudden,” Izuku whispers, already tearing up. “But I’ve been thinking about it for a while. And this— it just feels like it’s a sign you know? Even— even the universe thinks we belong together.” 

Oh god, it’s fucking happening. Katsuki’s knees are jelly, his breathing harsh and short. 

“And I—” Izuku continues, so sweet and almost shy. “I really do want you more than anything, Kacchan. You’re the best thing in my life, the greatest partner I could ever ask for, you’re— you really are the love of my life, Kacchan. You always were. I’ve been chasing you my whole life and— and having you, you being mine is— it’s more than I ever imagined I could have. And then you gave me my dreams back.” 

Fuck. Goddamn him. He’s really doing this. Right here, during patrol, on some random rooftop. It’s so not fucking romantic. It’s also the most romantic thing that’s ever happened to Katsuki. Fuck! 

“You’re everything to me,” Izuku says, soft and dreamy and fucking perfect. His eyes are so big and green and full of love that Katsuki feels like he’s fucking drowning in them. “You’re everything I want. I wanna spend the rest of my life with you. Kacchan…. Kacchan, will you marry me?” 

God. Even knowing it was coming hadn’t prepared Katsuki in the slightest. Izuku’s sweet voice, his sweeter words, his kind eyes so full of love. How the fuck did someone like Katsuki end up with an actual angel? This soft, loving, perfect creature who has just gifted himself to Katsuki. It’s like Katsuki’s heart is breaking sweetly and all his love inside is bursting out of him. 

“Fuck,” Katsuki wheezes. He’s definitely crying. This is so fucking embarrassing. Of course Izuku has to do this. He just has to beat him at everything, doesn’t he? He can’t even let him fucking propose, he’s just gotta beat him to the punch. Fucking asshole. He’s such a dickbag for this. 

“I know, baby,” Izuku says, rubbing his shoulders soothingly. 

“I have a ring!” Katsuki shouts, groaning and tucking his head into the crook of his elbow. “Goddamn, impatient little—” 

Izuku’s giggling is downright giddy. 

“Kacchan!” he cries. “You do?” 

“Of course I—” Katsuki seizes Izuku by the shoulders, then shakes him a little. “Of course I have a ring, you goddamn menace. I was gonna— I dunno, take you to dinner or something! Do something nice!” 

Well, hopefully he would have thought of something better than just dinner, but now Katsuki supposes he doesn’t have to. Izuku is grinning too brightly; his eyes are full of a thousand stars. He takes Katsuki’s face in his hands. 

“Put it on me then,” Izuku demands. “Put it on me and make me yours.” 

Katsuki sweeps him up into his arms and kisses him harshly, desperately. The metal of Izuku’s suit digs into Katsuki’s ribs as he crushes their bodies together, their faces are slick with tears, and Izuku still tastes like those god-awful Heroes Chips, but it’s perfect. Together , Katsuki thinks with a greedily little relish. They’re going to be together for the rest of their lives.

Anti-Endhawks takes to debunk

"Endeavor is 46, and Hawks is 23; why do you ship them?"

That's all on personal preference, tbh. It's cool if you find the age gap to be uncomfortable. It's important to point out that both characters met when Hawks was a pro-hero (meaning he was already an adult when they first started working together as a duo). Endeavor himself did not know of Hawks when he was younger. If Endeavor knew Hawks as a child and the relationship was formed due to that, then I would also have an issue with the ship itself and understand this saying for argument purposes.

There is already a canon age gap between Gentle and La Brava, and no one talks about how the age gap is bothersome for them, with Gentle being in his early 30s and La Brava in her early 20s. I think from what I've been seeing that people just don't like Endeavor as a character (which is fair if that's the case. You don't have to love his character or anything). Still, it would be good if some antis were honest about using this take as a reason to shun the ship in general.

"Endeavor is still married to Rei; therefore, he is still connected to his family that they had."

Yes, Endeavor is a part of the Todoroki storyline since his perspective alongside Touya and Shoto's is very important for readers to pay attention to. His relationship with Rei Horikoshi has shown that it quickly changed despite their relationship starting out as wholesome and healthy in the early stages. We see very fast that the love that Rei and Endeavor once had turned sour once they began having children, and Endeavor tried to push his goal of having that perfect child with the ideal quirk. Now, whether the two reconcile and come back together is anyone's guess; I'm assuming that Horikoshi won't have Rei and Endeavor get back together, and they will most likely separate due to everything that has happened in their relationship and family in general.

This reasoning, out of all the anti-endhawk ones, is probably the most reasonable if I'm being honest, since the Todorokis are shown still having some connection back to each other. We are still determining how the aftermath of it all will play out.

For story purposes, he is very much connected to Rei since they both are responsible for saving Touya. But it's good to note that when it comes to Endhawk's relationship, they don't display the typical power imbalance that most people would expect from out-of-age gap ships. In fact, when it comes to their overall dynamic, both characters respect each other as equals and have this bickering/bantering dynamic, especially during their early interactions; they both care for one another, as seen in the panels below.

"Hawks would hate Endeavor if he knew his past."

This take has been a common argument circling around the fandom before Dabi broadcasts his reveal to the world. I have to say, I was curious what Hawk's thoughts would have been if he found out Endeavor's past, but after he explained that despite the wrongs Endeavor has done in his life, he still would support him and do his best to help him out whenever he needed him. To me, it showed how much he trusted him; he views Endeavor as the person who is trying to atone for everything he has done to those around him rather than the person he once was; and this trust that the two of them have extends into the final arc as well.

If there are other takes I should probably tackle; I'll make a separate thread for those. But I am also working on a Bakudeku version of this as well (so look forward to that one 😊❤️)

BakuDeku SFW Alphabets (Part 2)✨

Here's part 2 of BakuDeku SFW Alphabets! Sorry, it took so long, life sucks...

Part 1

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

They hug a lot, and every time they hug, they try to convey everything they can't say in words by their actions. Whenever Izuku hugs Katsuki, he hugs like it's the end of the world. Katsuki mostly doesn't initiate hugs, but he really needs them and knows it. Izuku knows it too, and he also knows when to hug Katsuki. It's a tiny detail, but a very important one. Just a few half-assed hugs here and there can't do any good for Katsuki. Luckily, Izuku is an expert in reading Katsuki's mood, so he always knows when Katsuki needs a hug. Katsuki appreciates Izuku's thoughtful gestures, because whenever he's feeling down, he always remembers Izuku, and those memories and the emotions they invoke help him power through. Katsuki can also read Izuku's mood like an open book, but somehow, he never knows what to do at that instant. So he takes his time, and when he's ready, he showers Izuku with all the love he deserves.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

Katsuki doesn't say "I love you" often, because according to him, Izuku says enough I love you's for both of them. He also thinks it's way overused and sometimes comes up with the most creative ideas to convey the message to Izuku. Once he literally lit up the sky with fireworks on Izuku's birthday and even spelled his name with those fireworks. As for Izuku, he knows it's cheesy, but saying "I love you" to Katsuki makes him enormously gleeful, and he knows Katsuki likes it when he says it. There's almost no day without him saying "I love you" to Katsuki. But his best way of telling he loves him is through long letters that he writes, sometimes with poetry mingled in.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

It may seem like Katsuki is the more jealous one, and trust me, my friend, Katsuki does get jealous. But for anyone who's seen Izuku jealous, they would wish they never saw it again. Before they got into a relationship, whenever Katsuki got jealous, he would just glare at the offending person until they noticed it, or they went away. His glares and sometimes literally dragging Izuku away from that person by giving some excuse, like training, was pretty obvious to others. But when Izuku gets jealous, all the other people would notice a certain frigid feeling, but can never pinpoint the source. The only people who have noticed Izuku be jealous are Todoroki, and surprisingly, Tsuyu. But after they got into a relationship and became more secure, the glares and ice-cold atmospheres reduced drastically, but it still happens sometimes (someone help poor Shoto, my baby doesn't deserve so much hate from Katsuki).

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss? Where do they like to be kissed?)

Katsuki kisses like everything else he does in life, with a burning passion and vigour. This overwhelming amount of zeal was something Izuku slowly got used to. That doesn't mean that Katsuki can't be soft, but it's very rare. Izuku's kisses are full of warmth and devotion. Every time he kisses Katsuki, he kisses him like Katsuki's his everything, which isn't far from the truth. Once in a blue moon, Izuku kisses passionately, and during those times, Izuku's desire and longing burn brighter than the Sun. It secretly makes Katsuki go weak in his knees.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

Izuku's caring and gentle nature makes him perfect for handling kids, and most children immediately latch onto him. There's just something about him that makes children like him. His ease around children and his unnaturally sharp instincts for others' feelings help him connect with kids, and kids love him because he's always enthusiastic and understanding. Katsuki doesn't do well with kids, but he loves watching Izuku play with them. Izuku's ability to connect with others, which was immensely difficult for Katsuki, always amazed him. But what Katsuki lacks in the emotional department, he makes up for it with his natural confidence and somewhat menacing charisma. Basically, most kids view Katsuki as a fantastic hero, while they view Izuku as an amazing older brother.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Katsuki is a hero, so obviously he gets up early to train. Izuku mostly joins him, and they usually spend their morning run together in the chilly air, either quietly admiring the dewdrops and sunrise or competitively racing to see who can run faster. Katsuki doesn't use his quirk, and they're almost evenly matched. In short, they spend their mornings full of energy. On a few rare days off, Katsuki and Izuku like to cuddle until it's late in the morning.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Katsuki makes dinner, while Izuku roams around. Sometimes, Izuku tries to help, but after knocking Katsuki over for the third time, Katsuki forbade Izuku from helping him unless it was bringing the ingredients, which Izuku literally can't mess up. Izuku likes to sit nearby and watch Katsuki cook because the way Katsuki moves like he owns the kitchen always fascinates him. It was adorable at first, but later on, Izuku learnt that men who can cook are hot and ever since, he watches Katsuki cook. Katsuki sometimes gets distracted by Izuku watching him, but mostly, they quietly prepare dinner. Sometimes, Izuku talks about his latest discovery, and Katsuki always listens, even while cooking. On lazy days, they just order takeout and put on a movie to watch, and typically end up falling asleep on the couch.

"Izuku?" You say. No one hears you, no one knows you. Then again, you've known that already.

Even still, you can't help but try.

It's the beginning of fall, the summer breeze fading away as leaves turn from green to pretty shades of red. The window is clear when you look inside. The house is empty, though, and you assume that he must be out for patrol.

Walking down the streets of Japan dulls your senses, bit by bit. It used to be the other way around when you were still around, your senses roared and your guard was high, but here, there is no need for that. Why was it necessary, when you're nothing but a ghost in this world?

Some people call it a blessing, you call it a curse. Fantastical, magical, even. But so, so cruel.

You love it, but you despise it.

You long for it, but you're repulsed by it.

But you've never once regretted what you've had to do.

Eyes searching, your footsteps echo with purpose. Just a touch of green, even a hair. You could find him in a crowd, your eyes draw to him like bees to a hive.

You just have to look.

Izuku?

He's there, of course. Always there, with his yellow scarf, and big green eyes. There with his pretty smile you'd fallen in love with and a heart of polished gold. He's so, so beautiful, scars and all.

You reach out, maybe if you call his name, he'll hear you.

"Izuku?" You try again.

His eyes don't waver, but he's not looking at you.

"Kacchan!" He says instead, as Katsuki swats him on the head. "Idiot, it's Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight when we're on the job, shit nerd!" Katsuki snarls.

You retract your hand, as both boys breeze past you. Of course they would, you're just a spectator, after all.

"I was thinking of having Katsudon-"

"No."

"But Kacchan-"

"NO YOU UNHEALTHY FUCK."

You smile, a little sadly, but are still grateful he's safe.

He looks so happy.

"You've meddled far too much in this story." The villain whispers. "Give it up, outsider. You weren't meant to be here."

It's true. It isn't right, for you to be here. It's not your place.

"But I still wanted you." You say, voice cracking.

Your feet stumble, one after another, as you weave through the crowd, following them silently.

Stalker, your mind whispers, freak. Get a life.

It's all you've ever learnt how to do, because you never did, have a life. Just play doll fantasies and isekai aspirations.

They do end up getting katsudon for dinner, even if Katsuki's mad about it. You've always known he's had a soft spot for Izuku. You've always known the competition you were against.

In the end, what you had with Izuku wasn't substantial. No matter how much you wanted it. It's like wearing an odd pair of socks. Even if it fits, both of you didn't match.

"Ah, shit." You whisper, feeling your vision blur, as you wipe your tears away, shaking your head. A lump settles in your pharynx.

No, no, this is right. This is correct.

This was how it was meant to be.

The tears don't stop coming. "Kacchan, stop! I promise, I'll do my paperwork next week. You never let up on organisation, Kacchan. Remember that one time when we were still children? You had a space for each toy box, a drawer for each category of game..."

You look up, and they aren't there anymore. Panicking, you spent about five minutes trying to find them when you realise them already making their way out of the restaurant.

"Ah, son of a turkey leg, it's raining," Katsuki complains, as Izuku chuckles at his side.

"Turkey leg?" He teases, opening up his umbrella.

A sob bubbles up your throat. A curse, a fucking curse this is.

"He'll forget all about you, and that's okay, isn't it? It was only when you came here did everything start going wrong. Don't tell me you thought this dream could last forever. Come on, didn't you say you wanted to be a hero?"

"Izuku," You whisper, voice broken and cracked. He doesn't hear you.

They walk, and you follow. Into the plunging rain, or flames of the underworld, or on the bloody battlefield or fire or hail, you follow because that's all you've ever known how to do. You follow, even though it hurts.

"How's that injury holding up?" Katsuki asks, checking his partner over. Izuku shakes his head. "I'm alright. Was sure a scare, though. I thought I wouldn't make it."

Everything is in place, as it was always meant to be.

The rain beats down on you mercilessly, and you feel cold. So, so cold. "Shut up, nerd. Of course you did."

You know you did the right thing because it stings so badly.

But I want that too.

You sniffle, as you see them, under their stupid umbrella with their stupid faces and stupid heart eyes.

I want it so bad.

Your hand is outstretched, and you watch your hand sink through his hand, eyes glossing all over.

Why can't I have what you two have?

At the heart of it, you're just a greedy child throwing a tantrum because things didn't go your way. Impulsive, self-absorbed, Living out a fantasy that ruins a carefully crafted story with characters real enough to fall for. Even so, as you see them, happy, the memory of you wiped from this world as you're left to wander as a ghost, you cower at how out of place you were no matter how much you tried to make yourself right at home.

"Izuku..." You whisper, as they turn away. The rain is pouring, and your sweater is soaked.

"Why can't I have a happy ending too?"

I watched some of Season 7, and a lot of edits

What I find so charming about most Midoriya ships is how it's basically just teenagers in love. There's no "I'll kill for you" or "I'll die for you", it's just two high school students being wholesome friends.

Like, the most extreme Midoriya ship that I can think of (minus bakudeku which is a whole other can of worms that I refuse to ever open) is tododeku and even then it's mostly because of how they become friends. But after the UA sports festival, they basically just become wholesome friends. Some of my favourite tododeku moments are just them hanging out and being goofy friends.

And then of course there's izuocha, which is like...the most mundane pairing ever (I say this in the best way possible of course)?? Like, sure, some of their moments become more extreme as the story itself raises its stakes, but at their core izuocha is literally just your typical high school love story. They're literally just children in love and I adore that.

This logic pretty much applies to any other Midoriya pairing that I can think of (again minus bakudeku). Shindeku? Kamideku? Kirideku? Serodeku? Midotsuyu? Ojideku (severely underrated pairing btw)? They can all be reduced down to "idiot teenagers being friends/in love" and I love it so much.

This might be an unpopular take but all these "us against the world" and "I'm willing to kill anyone, including myself, to save you" dynamics can get pretty extreme and tiring when oversaturated. Sometimes I just want some simple straightforward dynamics, y'know? Like, I'm a sucker for angst but sometimes the most compelling angst comes from the most realistic situations.

You know what, I'm going to be honest.

The whole "in Shonen, the female and male leads are expected to get together" is overplayed for me.

I get that it's the case but I do feel some of you bring that up as if to say "the female and male leads should get together" like it's a rule. A must. The mangaka has to put them together.

Because you, the audience, feel like it has to happen for the characters to have a satisfying conclusion.

I, for one, to not agree.

I have my ships, but I don't think it's even necessary for a mangaka to make a ship canon when romance is not the focus of the genre they're writing. Let alone need to be the most important detail for a character to be a good character.

I'm sorry, MHA fandom, but I don't agree with the idea of a future epilogue seeing Izuku and Ochako having a kid and naming them after someone because that was not in their intended future.

This is a story about them being heroes. About them becoming heroes. Why does having children have to be the ultimate ending for them?

Hell, even with a ship like BakuDeku, I don't care to be canon because ultimately romance was not their ultimate goals.

These characters shouldn't be looked at as prizes for each other to win. They just had to fight to LIVE! One of them even died (before coming back to life)!

Yes, these characters have relationships with each other that would make you ship them, but...

Is shipping them all what you see these characters for?

Again, I get it about the whole "getting together" is common in Shonen, but I feel like it became common because audience members pushed it to be and mangakas picked up on that. But Horikoshi? His writing just doesn't come off as the typical Shonen.

Not every Shonen needs to follow the typical Shonen formula to be recognized as a Shonen.

Think of it this way. Not every shirt needs to be made out of cotton to be a shirt. Not every sandwich has to be made with lettuce to be a complete sandwich.

Not every story needs to follow the typical guidelines to be a story of its genre.

I said it before, looking at Horikoshi's previous works, he didn't focus on characters having a romance, let alone made it crucial for them to have a love life by the end of the story.

"What about Ochako's crush?"

It's not unusual for a teen girl to have a crush. It's not terrible for her to have one either. I had crushes. But what if that "crush" wasn't a crush? What if it was Ochako having a reflection? An admiration? Inspiration? Remember that Ochako wasn't thinking about having a crush until the people around her voiced it as one.

Do some of you only seem to see Ochako as "a girl with a crush"? Why is that the only thing you focus on? What about her being Ochako Uraraka, hero name: Uravity?

The person who wanted to put smiles on people's faces just like the hero she saw as a little girl do? The person who wanted to help her parents? The person who laughs at Iida's antics whenever they have a hero exercise? The person with Zero-Gravity? The person who loves mochi? The person who has a caring nature but is also tough? The person who stood up for her friend against a mob of people? The person who wanted to save a villain?

This is just me.

But I don't see any of these characters as prizes to each other to "win" for them all to have a satisfying ending to their story.

If I wanted their characters to be fulfilled by having a romance, I would have engaged in a romance.

People will complain about everything being the same, and yet be the same people who pushes a story to be like other ones...

okay ! Finally, I had to talk about this. As you can see, how many Yuri and Yaoi red flags have been flying in recent episodes? Yes, I'm talking about what we all know. A long time ago, I remember seeing Izuku and Ochako looking at each other and saying, So we all like the same thing? (Something like that) And it's Bakudeku and Togachako who have the same thing: golden-headed, likes to harm people (exploding, biting, or sucking blood?) Or the fancomic type where Bakugo gets into something. He exploded on himself. It's going to hit Izuku. And he exploded in his own throat, nearly suffocating Izuku. Even though later he will come to know and try to take care of him. Or the person who said Imagination Togachako, they were hugging each other. Then Toga will bite Ochako. (Something like that)

And everyone will say, wow, they love each other, they're so cute, etc. And I want to puke. What the fuck is this? Why do you all see physical harm? The manga's target audience is teenagers or younger.
