baked with love ! ₊˚⊹♡
cw : michael kaiser, established relationship, tooth-rotting fluff, ooc kaiser, typos (probably)
Tumblr media
you set down the ingredients you needed for your cookies on the counter as you heard footsteps nearing the kitchen.
“what are you doing?” kaiser asked as he attempted to fix his hair, you glanced over at him “i'm making cookies.” he tilted his head, “for me?” he smiled smugly.
“no.”
“so mean!”
you tried to stifle your giggles, getting a bowl from one of the cabinets for mixing. “i’ll only give you cookies if you help.” kaiser immediately coming up to you, “your wish is my command, m’lady.”
you gave him the bowl and pointed at the ingredients, “i need you to mix flour, baking powd-” getting interrupted cause of the flour that just got sprinkled all over your nose.
“dammit, i missed.”
you glared at him, “uh oh, i’ve angered the beast.” he added. putting some flour on your hand, you smeared it on both his cheeks. he gasped dramatically and stumbled back, “how could you do this to me?!?!” you burst out laughing.
“we didn’t even start making the cookies!”
“not my fault! plus you look so adorable with flour on your face.” kaiser replied.
you felt butterflies in your stomach, how does he manage to fluster you even though you've been dating for so long. you felt your face heating up, "you're so pretty" kaiser said as he pinched your cheeks like a grandmother would. "shut up" you said sheepishly, he chuckled at your flustered state.
the two of you continued baking again. engaging in banter with kaiser as you worked. it was going well, you only had to put the cookies in the oven. it was all going smoothly until you got a chocolate chip flung on your cheek.
"aaand he scores !! wooo !!" he cheered, "kaiser i am going to kill you one day, i swear" you said, making kaiser laugh.
"i'll be happy as long as it's you who's killing me."
"i don't think that'll be happening soon, what would i do without my prince charming?" you replied, pecking his lips.
"fair point" he grinned.
you put the cookies in the oven and set the timer, "what should we do while we wait?". "lets go watch a movie." he replied
"ooh! let's watch the menu, i've been wanting to watch it for awhile" you beamed.
"alright, may i offer you my hand in takingyoutothelivingroom" he said, being quick in the last part. you held his hand and giggled, "lead the way, my prince".
as you made yourselves comfortable on the couch, "kaiser?" you called. "hmm?" he replied, reaching for the remote.
"i love you."
his eyes widened and he blushed, "i love you too."
you admired him, making him look as red as a tomato. "god, stop being so cute, you're gonna make me explode" he said.
"my badd" you giggled.

HAPPY PUMPKIN SEASON, FRIENDS! What better way to kick off the season could there be than a hearty pumpkin soup for dinner!
I made about a third of this using a smallish carrot, a small onion, and a small clove of garlic. At first glance, this does seem rather involved — the baking, the blending, and the red lentil making — but it goes pretty quickly, especially once you have the first few ingredients chopped and in the oven.
The rest of my veg were done at the 20-minute mark, so I ended up baking the pumpkin by itself while my lentils finished off. I added everything to the same pot the lentils were already in and blended with an immersion blender — a much, much simpler (and safer) course of action than using a regular blender.
To serve, I toasted some pumpkin seeds and added green onion, dishing everything up in my little Le Creuset pumpkin pot. This was super delicious, creamy without being too grainy, and packed full of flavor — all in all, a very satisfying first pumpkin dinner!
