I also wanted to know how you felt about the pixies and if you were going to use them in your au
@seth-the-whalelord you are two for two on 'asking very simple questions that send me into a brain spiral' lol thank you this is. actually very useful for getting me to figure this stuff out. This is what i've gotten to write thru on my lunch break.
So! Pixies.
Once again I have no idea if I’m about to spout an Unpopular Opinion or not but…..I don’t like…..little, ‘Mascot’ characters. And I tend not to like the Pixies. Theyre trying Too Hard to be Beloved and it CAN be pulled off..........but I’m sorry I can’t stand their shrill little voices………………
I GET that it’s a kids show and you want little critters to appeal to little kids and sell toys of but like… the cast of Winx is HUGE and bloated at a baseline?? Like the Winx and Specialists by themselves are already so much to deal with. I will say upon rewatch, the Pixies are definitely better than like, any of the other little critters they add in later seasons. There are definitely episodes where the pixies Work and aren't completely overwhelming, and they're liked enough to be worth keeping, conceptually.
I like the idea of the pixies being plot relevant to the fairies development, and I actually have been thinking about explicitly tying them to charmix (or, idk if I’m keeping the concept of Charmix entirely intact because its BARELY a form. But i guess it can remain as a concept, and as a stepping stone to leveling up a fairy has to get her pixie/charmix (so its a standard step not just something the Winx girls have)
I really like how Amore and Chatta specifically contrast Stella/Flora’s respective personalities, because it brings to mind to me that charmix is supposed to be about overcoming some personal fear or weakness/character flaw, it makes sense to me to tie them together.
THAT SAID some of the pixie/fairy relationships are stronger than others.
Lockette’s theming as Pixie of Portals/a wayfinder can be styled as helping Bloom who is currently feeling ‘lost’ in an unfamiliar world, help her navigate both herself learning about and her newly discovered backstory/identity. I think that pretty much works: Lockette encourages Bloom to find the truth even if she’s kind of afraid to/ has been avoiding it. Amore’s calm peacekeeper demeanor definitely helps to temper Stella, and I feel like she could help deal with issues of not just romantic love but her relationships with her friends and her parents. I think Stella is full of love and affection, but doesn’t always show it / in the most considerate way.
Chatta forcing Flora to talk to Helia about her feelings is a pretty good example of what she brings to the table there, though I never want it to be just flattened to Flora’s romantic subplot - Flora could do with speaking up more in general! Have her forced to intercede in a friend conflict or assert herself when previously she was just letting the group overrule her!
Piff. I am conflicted about. Because like… she’s just a fuckin’ baby. there's a limited amount of personality there. She's sleepy. She's baby. I guess I think it’s cute that she helps Aisha with her bad dreams. I knee-jerk wondered if it was in bad taste to ‘mom-ify’ Aisha by giving her effectively a baby to care for but it really doesn’t read like that too much because Aisha is arguably one of the best-written and most complex of the girls. Piff could play a dual role - as someone Aisha has to stand up for and be brave for, but also a manifestation of childish wonder, to push Aisha to enjoy things she maybe didn’t have the opportunity to experience as a kid.
Tune is where it starts to lose me. I get it, Musa is tomboyish and brash and Tune is about manners but that really doesn’t feel as…important a problem to deal with? I feel like it may be a thing where Musa has to like… repair difficult relationships she has that are made rockier by how quick she is to argue, or maybe take responsibility for mistakes - like a formal apology and maturely talking about things rather than being avoidant? I’m not sure it’s best styled as ‘Etiquette’ if that’s the case. I’m taking suggestions on this one idk.
Aaaaaand they didn’t even try with Digit. She’s just a Flanderized version of Tecna. It doesn’t feel like she contrasts or challenges Tecna’s personality in any interesting way...Idk I kind of feel like she has to be changed whole cloth?
I know they replaced Tune and Digit but I’m not as familiar with Cherie or Caramel. I might look into whether their concepts work better for Musa and Tecna character arcs as they are currently swirling around in my head. What's the general consensus on those two?
My design thoughts are. I want to make the pixies much more…. Abstract I guess? What if they’re not their own species as much as concentrated sparks of magic - Fairies generate a lot of excess magic, hence ‘their pixie’ is actually a part of them - a little external manifestation of their magic fissured off my whatever internal conflicts or unaddressed needs they have, and resolving that allows them to re fuse with the Fairy? (Bonus: pixies are only around when relevant and I can poof them away when I don’t want them in a scene lol)

As mentioned briefly here, another project I had in mind for Winx Club was redesigning/reworking my Main Universe next-gen kiddos! I haven't touched these guys in a suuuper long time, mostly because I've been focusing on the AU next-gen universe but also I haven't had as much inspiration or motivation to work with my main next-gen, if that makes sense? But, that is something I want to change as I will be working on them in-between the redesign posts for the canon characters.
So first up, we have Bloom and Andy's kids! I shared a little bit of my ideas for Jasmine in the post linked above, but here are some more notes for all three of the siblings!
================================================
- Jasmine: 15 years old, daughter and middle child of Bloom and Andy. Citizen of Gardenia, Earth, and Fairy of Storms. Short height, soft and round body type that is slightly chubby, messy, shoulder-length dark brown hair, cyan blue eyes, fair skin, mole on the right side of her chin under her mouth. Very humble and level-headed, as her and her siblings grew up in a simpler life on Earth than a royal one or one in the Magical Dimension. She does however, have quite the feisty and fiery temper when she gets upset or experiences the slightest inconveniences sometimes. Pretty experimental and adventorous, she is not afraid to try new things out or explore new places, even if it can get her in trouble sometimes. As such, she is often the one that gets her other group members roped into all sorts of fairy missions, good or bad.
- Aidan: 17 years old, son and oldest child of Bloom and Andy. Citizen of Gardenia, Earth, and Wizard of the Dragon Flame. Tallish height, lanky build that is slightly muscular from physical training, short, messy/spiky medium-red hair, light yellowish-green eyes, fair skin. A natural prodigy at his magic, he is currently already in his last year at Wolfsbane Prep but cannot wait to graduate and start living his own life. Rather serious, hot-headed, and easily frustrated at times, he is protective of his loved ones as he does not want to see them get hurt from his power. He does have some anxiety and insecurities when it comes to his Dragon Flame magic as he does not want to abuse it or lose control, so he only uses it in class or when absolutely necessary. Although he is a wizard he is honestly only attending school for it out of social pressure, as he would rather work on his song lyrics and work on getting his small band to become more successful.
- Mckenna "Kenna": 9 years old, daughter and youngest child of Bloom and Andy. Citizen of Gardenia, Earth, with no signs of possible magic at the moment. Short height, skinny build, slightly past chin-length, straight, medium-brown hair that curls slightly at the ends, brown eyes, fair skin. A timid and shy girl, she seems like the complete opposite of her mother and older siblings. Yet despite this, she still tries to be kind and friendly to all those she meets, and tries to keep her cool around those who upset her. Seems a bit closer to her father as she is musically gifted like him, though she prefers to explore music more through dancing and acting. Her closest friend is Prince Leo of Solaria, who helps her with her confidence and to come out of her shell and try new things.

Been thinking more about the Bloom's parents are evil au, bc admittedly main characters being princesses is absolutely not my thing. Unless it's a political drama about fighting another member of the royal family, those are sick
Domino's first meeting with Bloom is when Tecna and Stella sets up projector screens and Musa projects her voice, after they've all been saved, so Bloom can address as many people as possible
Bloom has never done public speaking and practically everyone falls in love with this adorable girlie
Marion and Oritel are the first people from Domino she probably meets, the actual first people who ever so slightly mob her into a group hug
They're a couple who are the main Guardian faries for Domino, because Daphne was considered the Guardian of all of Magix
Marion immediately starts cooing over Bloom because she's been nearly murdered since she was 16 and Marion's motherly instincts are taking over
Marion and Oritel essentially are Bloom's first contact with what Domino is really like, and after this they're part of the ambassador team for Domino. So the Winx, and mostly importantly Bloom, keep seeing them
Marion and Oritel worked closely as Guardians with Daphne, so they have a LOT of stories about her
Marion and Oritel we're already low key parental to Daphne, who was really struggling under the pressure of gaining Nymphix and fighting the ancestral witches (they need a new cooler name—)
Marion and Oritel get phones and whenever Bloom has a question about Domino or what's currently going on with acclimating to new society she texts them because they're willing to deal with her chaotic tendencies and constant rambling
And they kinda adore her. She's so adorable, and they desperately want kids (but the political and social situation makes that hard) so they're low key playing aunt and uncle
Bloom's parents are near the back, no where near Bloom, and they only saw the address because of the screens and amplification magic
The first time they meet they're ecstatic to see her, but they're pushy. Incredibly pushy
They keep making small remarks about Bloom's adoptive parents not being her real parents, they keep calling her their name for her instead of Bloom (even when Bloom tells them not to), they expect her to move in with them, they expect her to immediately uproot her life to be the princess of Domino and Bloom doesn't want to. Bloom has low self esteem, hates being the center of attention, and is just plain fucking weird; so she kinda pulls back
They're a lot of small arguments because Bloom's parents are very traditional and Bloom is very not and Bloom as already shown she's really uncomfortable with most of the stuff expected of her and they're relationship is tenuous at best. She feels more a prop for good pr instead of their daughter
They also don't have any funny or cool stories about Daphne. They mostly talk about her in a very stiff way and it makes Bloom sad lol
I think it's rlly weird that the magix dimension is so advanced but still has monarchies? So there really aren't any absolute power monarchies around any more, the Eraklyon empire and it's royal family just fell last year and it was the last big absolute power monarchy. There's other smaller ones, on fringe smaller planets, but Domino is a outlier now
Like most absolute monarchies, there was a revolution brewing, but with the whole dimension being attacked thing going on Marion and Oritel put the whole "murder the shit king a queen" on the back burner
And then Daphne happened and they felt so bad for the girl and all she's going through, so put it more on the back burner
They're very happy that Bloom seems distant from her parents, it means she will be hurt less when they get rid of the king and queen
(they don't get arrested for this because the magic council ruled they're not a proper part of the magical dimension yet, they still finger wag at the couple tho. The period of destabilization is undercut by the entire magical dimension pitching in to bring Domino into the new age. So it's pretty quickly re-stabilized)
Bloom is part horrified, part happy that Domino doesn't have an absolute monarch anymore, part more scared and sad that her parents are in jail/gone, part relived that she doesn't have to deal with any more ect ect this back in forth in her head goes on and on
Technically the monarchy isn't gone because Bloom, and they ask her to step down to free Domino of the choke hold it's always been in from the magically powerful royal family
Bloom does so, and Marion and Oritel are very happy about this
(Sky is having a host of emotions, and a big part of him wants to burst out laughing that both he and Bloom ended up in the same situation)
Unsurprisingly this strains their relationship but they warm back up to eachother once they explain why Bloom's parents really really needed to be out of that chair right then. Bloom gets it, I can't imagine Bloom being pro monarchy outside of the initial "omg fairy princess 🥺" and she realizes that it's actually a political system
They eventually repair their relationship, and Marion and Oritel end up calling themselves Bloom's aunt and uncle and their child is Bloom's cousin by that logic lol, Bloom loves the little spark
Bloom is still beloved by the public and takes the official role of the Guardian fairy of Domino once the political system is re-set up
The other girls help her get use to being a proper Guardian Fairy as a part of a system and Marion and Oritel do everything to make her as comfortable as possible
Marion probably is elected leader, so she handles all this for Bloom
Mike and Vanessa can move to Domino whenever the fuck they want and live off of Bloom's considerable magical dimension salary (that doesn't work on the not integrated Earth) they go back and forth on it but if they did they'd become parent friends with Marion and Oritel
Daphne in this world is more elegant, close off, and proper compared to my normal fire cracker characterization to match with her new status as the good one from the royal family
Bloom has a small break down about how she could of turned out at least once, it's fine tho
You think there's like?? Events for Guardian Faries? Bloom has always been invited because of her role in protecting the dimension but it's always been awkward because she doesn't have a planet, and now she does and that's cool
There is a small (read: large) media circus around these events and Bloom fucking hated how she was constantly hounded
Stella and Aisha handle it for her and if push comes to shove Tecna and Musa chase them off with a stick
I think that's all my thoughts for now about this au/idea but I really like it rjejsje

Lustrix Poder, Luces Minerales Brillando...! Relucientes, es el poder de Lustrix!
yeah the Tynix song doesn't really. lend itself to much of anything when 90% of the song is ooh-ing and aah-ing lmao
anyways hey y’all it’s back the redux’s back! and I’m coming back with Lustrix, basically the other half of canon Tynix that has nothing to do with animals at all.
Lustrix’s obtainment is a quest, like with Sirenix - one must obtain a shard of five giant crystals in the cave systems underneath the crust of every planet, and present them to the nearest Lustrix source, found in the same system. Like with Sirenix one can kickstart the quest via the Grimoire of Transformations or by befriending a magical critter related to the form - in this case, a Gnome, mole-like sapientkind that live underground. The Winx plus Dia would search and obtain this form in the as-of-yet-plotless S7.5.
On to the design notes!:
oh boy redesigning Lustrix took A FUCKTON OUT OF ME LEMME TELL YOU WHAT. I didn’t want two armored forms, but a full-basic figure skating look also didn’t fully convince me. I went through around 4 different concepts before deciding to tweak the original look, ending up in this armor-y looking figure skating-esque looks, which I’m MUCH happier with.
Each of the girls are themed after a specific gem, chosen for particular purposes beyond color matching:
Bloom is the citrine, yellow/orange quartz, usually associated with keeping away illnesses and bad thoughts, as well as bringing creativity and joy. Given Bloom’s tendencies to shut herself in and let her mind torture her it felt very fitting to give her a gem against that! Similarly, one can “make” a citrine by heating up amethyst, purple quartz, until it turns yellow or orange. However, you can burn them and end up with a far darker color, and given Bloom’s fire power it felt extra fitting.
Stella’s heliodor, a yellow variant of beryl. Beyond its name literally meaning “Gift of the Sun”, which covers her magic, heliodor means fidelity, good fortune and confidence, and it’s used to strengthen and protect personal bonds. Tell me that ISN’T Stella, I dare you.
Tecna’s peridot, a green gem usually more common in space than in Earth. While the alien nature already fits Tecna, its meanings of confidence and determination as well as it being able to open someone’s heart to others and make bonds with each other also feel tailor-made for Tecna, who in the AU is the most emotionally mature of the Winx and the one who’s there to help the others.
Aisha’s larimar, a stone that looks like seafoam and, if you recall, also the source for her second name in the AU. Beyond the link with her magic, larimar can mean expressiveness, freedom and serenity, all things Aisha longs for at the start of the story.
Musa’s fluorite, a purple gem, though it can also come in green. While it doesn’t have any particular link with her magic, fluorite is associated with romantic love and good communication (fitting for her relationship with Aisha) as well as with intelligence and intuition.
Flora’s gem is the kunzite, a purplish pink variant of spodumene. Like with Tecna and Musa, the stone doesn’t have associations with her powers, but kunzite is linked to the heart and is a symbol of protection and purity in all its forms, which fit’s Flora’s tendencies to go with her heart and her overprotectiness of those she loves.
Last but not least, Diaspro’s stone is her namesake, jasper. Jasper is a variant of quartz that isn’t crystal, with a wide arrange of colors. While each color has its own meaning, in broad strokes jasper is associated with bravery, vitality, love and protection, all things associated with Dia in the AU, especially with her determination to the throne.

winx au: what causes each character to gain charmix/enchantix/gloomix/disenchantix? does Stella get her two at the same time or only progress in one? is her witch form always the basic one? does she ever ise it? do the witches and fairies gain the power ups the same way? does riven ever get one? T (sry bout all the questions)
Okay! So!
Yes the powerups are earned the same way for Faeries and Witches. They are parallels of one another.
Stella does use her Witch Form a few times in the first few seasons. In Season 1, it's mostly a "this form is stronger at Night" deal, but she stays in Faerie most often. She uses it a little in Season 2 because her Faerie Magic doesn't do well underground, being literally Light Based. Her Witch Form isn't the best option, but doesn't drain as fast in darkness. By Season 3, her Witch Form is at an actual disadvantage compared to her Faerie Form so she only really uses it once to make a point. She will have to earn each form seperately when she trains her Witch powers.
Riven wasn't intending to get more Forms, but kinda... Gets them accidentally? Like. In the next chapter of that fic, he's starting on actually working at being able to use his Magic. He'll be caught off guard by Charmix in Season 3. And because Enchantix is earned by confronting some personal stuff, as soon as he does some major character momet he gets that. By Season 5 when everyone else is getting Harmonix/Discordix, him and the rest of the guys are helping them with getting all that so he's just like "well since I'm in on this anyway...".
Charmix/Gloomix is earned mostly by making major progress in actually training your Magic. One could use their Base Forms many times, but actually training and honing their skills would lead to earning Charmix/Gloomix. It's not exactly an entirely new form, just a sign that they're ready to earn Enchantix/Disenchantix.
So the "confronting something personal" plot is moved to Enchantix/Disenchantix instead. Because that makes more sense than "sacrifice your life to save someone from your homeworld" for many, many reasons!
As for how everyone gets their forms!
As said, Charmix/Gloomix happens on it's own and is earned by training your Magic. While Echantix/Disenchantix is "character developmemt". The Winx all get theirs in Season 3, and others get them at various times. I'll start with the Winx though!
Bloom:
Bloom's had a hell of a time finding where exactly she belongs. On Earth, she always subconciously knew she didn't "belong" there. Then she learns about a whole ass world of Magic she does belong to. Only to find that her birth family and homeworld were destroyed. So she feels this disconnect.
She tries to connect to the handful of survivors from Domino. But that makes her feel even more like an outsider because theres a whole planet/culture she doesn't remember. And it doesn't help that Valtor is specifically using this feeling to manipulate her.
Eventually, she comes to realize that she doesn't have to "belong" to some place because she already belongs with her friends and family.
Stella:
Stella has a lot of pressure on herself and tends to ignore her problems by pretending she's not bothered because she should be able to handle all this!
She eventually opens up about all that. Just. Admitting that she is stressed and being reminded that she can rely on the people who care about her.
Musa:
So. I bumped up Musa's mother's death to just before she left for Alfea in Season 1.
Musa has been pretty much running away from facing that for the past two years. Not even going home during breaks from school because it hurts too much to be in her home without her mom.
In Season 3 she gets to meet Galatea and the two just talk about their homeworld. Musa misses it. A lot. But going home means facing all that.
Eventually she does. Having a bit of a breakdown but properly processing the grief.
Tecna:
One of Tecna's issues is that she's... Not good at communicating or interpretating emotions. It's partly on her and partly just that Zenith culture is very blunt with emotions. So she won't understand what someone is feeling unless they say it point blank, but also won't always show what she's feeling outside of saying it out loud(which... Doesn't register to others)
She never realized how much of an issue it is until her and Timmy have tension because of it. Nothing bad! Just that their love languages are very different and both begin to feel unappreciated because of the lack of communication on the emotional front.
It's the decision to actually begin learning that has her earning her Enchantix.
Aisha:
Due to her very isolated childhood, Aisha is still new to having such a large friend group. But she quickly fits in with them. However. Right when she got the group, they seem to e drifting apart.
Not in a bad way, of course! But everyone has their own adventures and subplots this season, which leads to the whole group not always being together. And as they plan for the future and what may come, it's likely that they'll have to go their seperate ways.
Aisha is scared that she'll be alone again. And It's only after voicing these fears and being reassured that even if their lives have them seperate, they'll always be ready to come back together and be friends. They're not going away forever.
Flora:
Flora's insecurity comes from feeling like the weakest of the Winx.
She's not, of course! But... Bloom and Aisha are their main powerhouses. Stella is also quite powerful, and uses both Faerie and Witch Forms. Tecna and Musa have much flashier powers. And Flora is over here with her plants.
Plus. One of their main opponents is Icy. Whose powers are naturally very effective against Flora's abilities.
She begins to feel very useless. Like she shouldn't even bother fighting because what difference would it make?
Eventually, she does kind of snap. And realize 1.) She's not weak and 2.) Even if she was, it doesn't mean she shouldn't do what she can to help.
Darcy:
She actually gets her Disenchantix at the end of Season 1(all the Trix start Season 1 on Gloomix because they're in their third year at Cloud Tower).
It's solidifying that she won't break her morals to obtain her goals, even to the point of fighting against people she loves and fixing her mistakes.
Stormy:
Hers happens off screen because she disappears in Season 2 and shows up again in Season 3. But sometime during this she realizes that her current methods of trying to get anything she wants isn't... Really working. She manages to sort that out but I'm still thinking about all that.
Icy:
Oh boy. My girl has a lot of issues. Especially relating to her mom.
99% of people she meets that know who her mom is either judge her, or want her to pick up where her mom failed. And Icy has internalized a lot of that shit. About having to complete her mom's goals because what else is there for her? If she does, she'll have the wonderful life she was promised way back then. She'll be... Worth something.
Sometime in Season 3 she meets some characters who, despite who her mother was and what Icy has done since then, are willing to care about her. And She's also reminded that Darcy and Stormy did care about her, but she pushed them away for her own goals. And that even the Winx gang are willing to help her get away from... All that.
It's a lot of progress and she probably won't really get Disenchantix until Season 4 when she actually feels genuinely loved for who she is and despite everything.
Riven:
Oh boy.
So. I.... I will go into this more after I post the next chapter of that thing. However!
I will say that his Enchantix is either late Season 3 or sometime in Season 4. And It's a very cathartic, facing childhood truama, "god do you have any idea how much that fucked me up?!" Moment.

Winx AU idea - Diaspro’s redemtion
So, we all know that Diaspro got royally fucked over by both the other characters (especially Sky) and the narrative.
Which is kind of sad, because she had a lot of potential to grow and become better, but it got wasted.
First, I’d like to establish what backstory I’m working with for Diaspro, since her story changes between the different dubs.
1) For the purposes of this AU, Diaspro is from a different planet than Eraklyon (the planet Isis)
2) To explain, why she spends so much time on Eraklyon and is so focused on marrying Sky, let’s say that there was a succession struggle on Isis, when she was very young - her parents arranged her eventual marriage to Sky and sent her to Eraklyon for her safety, while the situation sorted itself out. Her marriage to Sky was originally meant as a kind of payment to Erendor for hepling her parents take over the kingdom.
Okay now to the AU.
The story splits from canon around the end of season 3, right after Diaspro is banished from Eraklyon and returns to her homeworld.
With not much else to do, she does some self-reflection and eventually deciding to quit pursuing Sky as it has brought her nothing good.
Around halfway through season 4, she is getting ready to be crowned as the queen of Isis (her royal parent either abdicating the throne to her or dying, it doesn’t really matter). She decides to seek out Sky and the newly named crown princess Bloom of Domino, to apologize to them before she becomes a queen - not because she feels that bad, but because having a king and a crown princess of two really powerful planets as enemies is a political nightmare and she wants to make sure they won’t decide to take revenge on her.
After looking for the two at Alfea and Red fountain, she’s informed they’re on Earth and seeks them out there - during her search, she also meets with Erendor, who’s kind of mad that his son is ditching his king duty to be with his girlfriend on some magicless backwater world.
She arrives to Gardenia and kind-of stalks Bloom and Sky for a day or so, before she decides to approach Bloom. The two girls actually have a proper conversation for once and Bloom promises Diaspro that she won’t try to take revenge, as long as she doesn’t try anything like that again.
Later that day, Diaspro meets with Sky and but before they can talk, the Wizards attack. Diaspro ends up joining the fight and helping out the Specialists (she is only in her base fairy form and her magic is nearly useless against the Wiazrds).
Post-battle, she and Sky finally talk and she admits, taht while she still loves him, she sees that he’s much happier with Bloom than he ever was with her and that she doesn’t want to take that happiness away from him, even if it hurts her. This earns her her Charmix. She also ends up warning Sky, that Erendor is kind of pissed at him and that he should probably figure out a way to deal with that.
She returns to Isis and is crowned the queen shortly after that.
She appears again in season 5, first to try and help Sky recover his memory (except with pure-r motives this time around) and then later on during the Council of Sovereigns, but this time as a Queen, instead of whatever bullshit title she had in season 5 (and also, we’re not forgetting that Sky is a king now). She’s actually very rational and helps the WInx win over many of the other monarchs. Her non-royal parents is also present and helping her as an advisor.
Eventually, she and her non-royal parent travel to Andros to help the people affted by Tritanus’s previous attacks, only to wind up in the middle of the finale battle.
Diaspro, her parent and Aisha’s parents end up being together, as the water rises, getting up to the highest tower. The mutants attack them and Diaspro decides to stay behind while the parents escape up, hoping to buy them some time. This earns her her Enchantix.
With her new powers, she manages to capture the mutants and joins the parents in the highest tower, where the Winx finally come to help them.
After this, Diaspro becomes - well, not friends, but like, friendly enough - with the Winx.
She only appears in season 6 briefly during the balls, helping the other fairies with the fighting and she doesn’t help the Trix in any way.
She then disappears for a while and we hear some time in season 7, that she has gotten married to some noble or another.
She has a more major role in season 8, though. But, instead of whatever bs she pulls there, she’s instead a Queen of a planet, trying to keep her people safe in a crisis. We meet her husband and we’re shown them being in a healthy, loving and supportive relationship. Valtor approaches her, hoping she would make an alliance with him again and she promptly tells him to fuck off. And since season 8 Valtor has the temper of a toddler, this causes her world’s star to be attacked.
The Winx arrive, but it’s too late and the core was destroyed, either in the battle by accident or intentionally. Regardless, Diaspro’s world is cast into darkness.
In the next episodes, we sometimes get a look back onto her world, and we see her helping her people, and maybe even helping Orion in figuring out the artificial star cores, since they are powered by a type of gem/crystal.
Just overall, Diaspro getting her shit together, growing up, moving on and being the badass queen she always had the potential to be.

Operation: "Ignore the Shitty Live Action Winx Show and Just Rewatch the Cartoon for the First Time in Almost a Decade" part 49:
I'm Calling Fairy CPS(Remix)
I take it this is the real Avalon?
The pixies all stanning their respective fairies is so cute
Faragonda: I have called this meeting just to inform you all of how much better these 5 specific students are doing than the rest of you
I still maintain that the only reason the rest of the school doesn't hate the Winx is bc they're the reason every year ends with a party and bc Bloom got their exams postponed that one time
Tumblr media
1. Wholesome 2. Stella Bloom gay
Not Stella and Bloom being the only ones cracking up and forcing me to realize that they are those girls in class that are always giggling about some shit
"So we're our own worst enemy? That sounds familiar" 😬😬😬
Aww Griselda really is a good teacher. Stella is always backsassing her but she knows she's secretly the most desperate for approval
Flora arc!!!!
Awww that scene with Helia was cute. I think this is the Winx Club version of a slow burn
Ok that was a quick arc but! I still liked it. Kinda called back to her quest to cure Mirta in s1 an-*takes au notes*
Hey just bc I know I'll never get any actual fic done doesn't mean I don't have an elaborate thing in my head just for funsies
Woah there this is a kids show I don't think a childbirth scene is appropriate
The pining! Helia and Flora are both lesbians sorry I don't make the rules
"Sukkelsukkelsukkelsukkel" I love Chatta suddenly idk. Also she gets points for being the only pixie to actually help her fairy's character development
...so they're gonna figure it out just a few moments too late to save Bloom huh?
Of course she considers that the worst day of her life, and it's about to happen again😭 Don't get me wrong dark!Bloom is comedy gold but I still feel bad for her
SIR STEP AWAY FROM THE TEENAGE GIRL

Note
sorry this is kinda random, but do the planets/societies in your aus have beauty standards and realistically where would the winx fit it? are any of the standards Bad or are they generally tame? -💞
Hm, generally speaking the Winx are ok looking. I didn’t want to go for extreme beauty standards and then have the to our (western) eyes and standards pretty girls be pitied as ugly. It doesn’t really tell the story I want to tell, seeing as my visdev style is idealised, like I don’t draw anyone purposefully ugly.
That being said, I have a few opinions.
Like my Stella is mixed by Solarian standards. Mom’s pale skinned, fair haired Selenite, dad’s a tan, dark haired Rai (Radius dyes his hair red with henna), so Stella is very much a mix of stereotypes. Since there is some residual animosity towards Selenites in the capital, Stella grew up being made fun of her blond hair, up until the point when the pastel and metal coloured hair trend hit and people started to emulate her. Magics considers fair hair beautiful, Stella participated in the Magics beauty contest fully knowing that and expecting a validation boost.
Solarians generally favour a strong and straight nose on men and women alike, and wouldn’t snub a good shoulder. For men having good pecks is literally THE ideal. Body hair trends are incredibly over the place: a new fad appears almost every season. Currently: men’s chest hair is in, leg hair should be trimmed. For women it’s clean armpits but stubbly legs are grand atm.
Layla was considered the ideal of Androsian femininity when she was young: lithe, studious and delicate. All the aunties that praised her aren’t so supportive now that she packs the muscles she gained from all her sporty hobbies in her time off planet. To them a build like hers speaks of different gender connotations (remember Andros has many) and they tsk quietly under their breath about what a pretty child she used to be and how she would find a husband looking like this? (jokes on them, Layla is bi and men and women find her muscles extremely attractive. Need I elaborate on how hard Nex was ready to simp for her?)
Niobe is considered gorgeous internationally, with her broad features and tall forehead, but as said before Androsians prefer their women extremely waifish, taking an extremely spin on gender expectations they absorbed from off-planet. Men are preferred to be more muscular than squishy, short and lithe and experts at a chosen trade.
Techna doesn’t hit it for their respective Transjordanian aunties. The pinnacle of feminine beauty is long hair and Techna very much doesn’t have that. Not that they care, non-binary standards are way different, favouring square features, dainty noses and flat chests. No body hair tho. That’s true for all genders in Transjordan.
Bloom is a bit out of place with her red hair living in southern Europa, but on Domino it’s not that much a looker. It is generally agreed that Daphne is the prettier Aglssier princess, but that has a lot more to do with her demeanour than looks.
Dominians prefer some pudge on their women and are definitely a boob aligned people. They like round eyes and pretty smiles - dentists are high in demand. Men are meant to sport some sort of facial hair and be broad.
Musa again is mixed, but elf and human. She was being complimented on her cute and quirky ears, which always left a bitter taste in her mouth because she knows full well that her full elf family has been mocked for those ears. But you know once it’s on mixed people it’s fine?
Melodeans like pale skin on any gender (Musa falls short here: neither is she naturally pale, nor is she known to sport a parasol or cake herself in sunscreen when going out). A pointy chin and rosy cheeks are desirable traits for women. Men are expected to have shiny and strong hair, the longer the better symbolising health and long life. Tall men are also seen as more beautiful than short ones.
Flora I think I would name as the singularly most beautiful Winx girl. She has a great complexion, full lips and hair that you can do a lot of styling with (which she normally doesn’t, but eh).  She was a bit picked on for her weight, but once it became clear that it was her ideal weight, as in she is active, eats well etc with no weight fluctuation, those remarks disappeared. Other students at Alfea were inittially less kind in that regard.
Living on treetops, people from her part of Lynphea are short, so they fawn over taller people. They prefer women have wide hips and strong arms and full lips. Men should have broad shoulders and large hands (?) and a soft face.

I just watched Fate the Winx Saga and here are my maybe unpopular opinions as a Winx Club animated series fan.
First off, yes I know I'm late to this party. I honestly put this show off because I was really sad about what they did to the characters I know and love.
Second, I grew up with Winx Club, it was my show, my life. The pretend game I played with my friends in middle school and I was/am a Flora fan. She was my favourite and honestly a role model for young me who was a shy and soft-spoken gal with a love for nature.
So on with the maybe unpopular opinions under the cut!
The show itself is not bad at all honestly. It has it's flaws for sure but hey that's Netflix for ya. The acting was a little weird at times but overall I personally think the actors and actresses did a good job with what they were given. And most of the special effects were honestly pretty impressive to look at! But it wasn't the Winx, at least not to me.
What made Winx so special to me was the aesthetic of it all. The fact that the world(s) fit together so well and that it was not earth, like at all. No cars, no “real” technology, in the Winx universe you travel by magic or spaceship! Technology? Yeah no ask a tech fairy or a tech specialist because we don’t know shit about that and even then that shit is magic! Also transformations! We just want pretty fairy girls in shimmering costumes with a cool pair of wings of their back!
Fated the Winx Saga is so unmagical that it honestly loses a lot of it’s allure and does a disservice to the original show. I don’t mind that it’s dark and gory, it honestly makes sense, most teen/young adult fiction is in this day and age but this show could’ve been a great show on it own without the Winx club elements thrown in! The only thing that relates the two shows is the names of the characters/places and appearance of said characters(kinda) but otherwise it’s a completely different show with different characters to me.
Terra was a nice character, as a bigger girl myself who has anxiety and a hard time understanding social cues at times I saw a lot of myself in Terra but she also replaced Flora who was near and dear to my heart and honestly that hurt. It this had been a standalone show Terra would’ve been my favourite character but since she replaced something dear to me (who’s name was put in as a throwaway line might I add) made it so I couldn’t fully appreciate her for who/what she was.
Same for the other characters, Bloom who was always a great leader was reduced to a mess that made it hard for me to sympathize with her choices.
Aisha was overall treated/written badly (we all know it’s true). She was basically just a plot device for the other characters to get exposition!
Stella who yes in the animated series wasn’t always nice just took a turn for the worst and her whole thing with Sky was just annoying, boring and overall unnecessary. It was honestly  triggering for me to deal with all that toxicity and I had to skip most of their scenes.
Musa, while I’m glad they kept her love for music and I understand why magic music powers could be hard to write in (another point into this could’ve been a great show on it’s own) giving her empath powers was odd seeing as how animated Musa was never really an empath. (don’t come for me Musa stans she always was a headstrong gal and honestly did some things we all know she wouldn’t have done if she was an empath. She hurt Riven so many times it’s not even funny even if her did the same to her it’s honestly just not great.)
The boys, oh the boys. Sky and Riven. Besties? No, I’m sorry you must’ve gotten hardass, Riven confused with jock himbo Brandon (Sky’s actual bff!). Lowkey Riven’s protrayal of a morally (dark) grey character was okay but overall not great. Yes early seasons Riven in the animated series was not a great guy but he was never evil. He always had strong values even if he got tempted by power because of his inferiority complex.
Sky on the other hand was pretty spot on if not for the thing with Stella and the relationship with Riven. He was a lot more aggressive than his animated counterpart but honestly just as stubborn in his views and ready to help his friends. (highkey miss the long hair tho, man those lucious locks were everything back in the day)
TLRD: Fated the Winx Saga would have been just as good and maybe even better if it was a stand alone show instead of an dark and gory YA Winx Club AU fic. (please be nice)

Winx isn’t that bad? But it’s not the Winx Club
I actually ended up enjoying the new winx club adaptation, but I think Netflix did a bad move (as per usual). They should’ve just advertised it as a completely new show or as a show “inspired” by Winx Club, because this show, while having hints of the original, was not Winx.
The only way I found myself enjoying it was because I either told myself to think of it as an AU or to think of it as a completely new show on its own.
Sure they had Bloom, Stella, Aisha, Musa, Sky, and Riven, but they weren’t even that reminiscent to the original characters cough cough whitewashing cough Bloom was the most like her character. I saw hints of her (like in the season finally and when her anger kicks in) but it wasn’t enough. I absolutely hate what they did to Stella. They saved her in the end though I will admit that she had a nice character arc.
I can see why they chose to do certain things when it came to the plot. For example, the  love triangle as opposed to the whole “Brandon pretends to be prince sky” thing. I’m only saying this because that could be hard to draw out when there’s only so many episodes. Still hated it though.
Was it a great show overall? No. Was it a masterpiece? absolutely not. But I think it was interesting enough to keep watching. The only time I saw everything starting to come together and feel like the original was in the season finale when the girls finally got along and that made it an enjoyable wrap up the the season.
TL;DR the characters were reinvented too much, but the show alone is pretty decent. I think people need a reminder that you can enjoy a show whilst still knowing all of its flaws and learning from it.

Updating and Growing
An AU where the Winx Club have to band together, for technology and magic to co-exist on an Earth that’s lost its magic. StellaBloom and BloomSky (but probably with StellaBloom as endgame).
https://archiveofourown.org/works/29434017/chapters/72304374#workskin
Chapter One
Stella’s PoV
Stella stood in a small room—that might have once been that of an old school house's, before the industrial revolution—and swept the floor until blisters scarred her fingers. But even as her body swore at her, and she couldn’t see a single speck of dust for miles, she knew it still wouldn’t be enough: Griselda, no matter what, would come in and say she was slacking, so it was best to just keep at it.
Day became night and night became day, and still Stella worked.
And in the end… what Stella had guessed was exactly what ended up happening. Griselda came into the room, and yelled at Stella because the window the blonde looked out of—that was her soul freedom in this place—was dirty in the eyes of the middle-aged woman. Probably because Stella had been leaning her face against it, dreaming for a moment, before Griselda had made her appearance. But it was okay...
Somehow and some way, Stella had just pulled light into her hand. And after she let out the phrase “Sun Power!” (something she’d often asked the sun to give her—power, that was—as Stella often thought of the sun as God looking down on His creations), she threw the light in a burst of energy.
And she was free.
Bloom’s PoV
Bloom was currently sitting in a train with a young man, who she thought’s name was Sky? But she couldn't be certain. She wasn't even entirely sure that her name was Bloom, but it seemed to sound right in her head.
Why Bloom was on a train, though, she couldn't even begin to know—for the young girl had amnesia—but she couldn’t help feeling like she was an eleven-year-old about to go to Hogwarts for the first time to start her magical journey… Or she would have been thinking that, if she believed Earth had any magic to it at all.
"...And then I came up with a comic, where someone thought one plus one was eleven instead of two," Sky attempted to joke with Bloom now. And while the joke was certainly lame, she had to appreciate that the stranger was at least trying to make her laugh when she felt so lost.
So, Bloom giggled a little bit, before picking at a loose thread in her jeans. "No offense, Sky... But that story wasn't the greatest. You sound a bit like someone who's trying to be hip with the kids, so you’re trying to sell the one time you tried to make something as cool as a comic—that didn’t go well—as some lifechanging event that happened to you.”
And here it was Sky's time to chortle. "Maybe you got me, Bloom. You got me."
And while Bloom definitely thought Sky was uncool—though that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing; she doubted that she herself was—she still found herself enjoying this strange, mysterious life of hers… if for but a moment.
But since Bloom's life didn't seem to be without irony these days, it was of course when she was feeling comfortable with Sky—and maybe even a bit romantic—that the train would skip the track and topple over once—catching the room they were in on fire, as it spun around.
But Bloom was able to catch the fire into her hands and save them both (Sky looked at her wide-eyed as she did so). And as Bloom was holding the fire, her mind’s eye supplied her with an image of a girl holding the sun… and of a fairy who actually knew magic?!
Flora's PoV
Flora, simply amazingly, was the only person on Earth who had been able to retain her powers when magic went away.
She wasn't sure why that was, exactly... Perhaps it was because she was so in tune with nature and the planet rewarded her for that?
But if that was the case, Flora didn't know why she was still blessed. Ever since everyone else had lost their connection to mana, Flora had grown depressed and lost her tie to plants. Now, she mostly only focused on magicking pink things—which was maybe somewhat like someone she had just had a vision of—but even then, the fates allowed her to still see the future.
And so, she had known of the day that Stella would break free of Griselda, and that Bloom would find her way here (a path that would also eventually lead Stella and Bloom to each other, too).
So, Flora, for just a second, used her magic to make her flowers more rose colored and then she turned around to see Bloom and Sky trekking towards her in this lovely forest.
It was clear that the two were injured, even with Bloom's quick reflexes that had saved them, and Flora didn't envy them their tired and heavy limbs or the slight blood dripping from their wounds. And thus, she found herself flying towards them, to make their quest much more manageable.
However, the moment Bloom saw Flora, it seemed to take her aback. And she grabbed onto Sky's hand in shock, Flora saw.
"I... I saw you in a dream," Bloom stammered, losing her balance some, but then recovering it just as quickly as the girl was nothing if not sporty. "Right before the train lost its way, I saw you."
"Yes," Flora agreed—while she ushered her new friends into her hut: where fresh raspberries were waiting for them to eat and cloth rested on a table, begging to be used as a tourniquet to stop the bleeding of their wounds. "The four of us—and perhaps others still—are needed to make magic and technology co-exist together in this world."
Author’s Note: For some reason, whenever I’ve tried to write Winx Club fanfiction in the past, this AU has always popped into my head. So, I’m finally writing it, I guess. But if anyone’s even interested in this story, know that updates will be very sporadic as I have at least one other novel-length fanfiction that takes precedent. I’m sorry:(
Also, as I’m writing this, I’m thinking the main pairing will be BloomStella. But there may be a SkyBloomStella love triangle at first (maybe it’ll even be a love square, if Brandon shows up. But then I may be tempted to switch to BrandonStella, as I do love them. Haha). I actually hate love triangles, but that’s what’s in my head with this for some reason. So, whatever. The rest of the ships will probably be the canon ones:)
And sorry that I seemed to vilify Griselda, but all may not be as it seems there.

Time to rant incoherently talk about the latest controversial topic in the Winx fandom: {Fate the Winx Club Saga}
So every time something new joins the Winx expanded universe, we get twitchy, and that’s understandable, there has been some serious mishandling of the series in the past, but this is something else.
And I’m going to be honest: based on what I know from the leaks and releases this far, I’m kind of expecting a Winx Club Hogwarts AU, complete with ascended OCs.
They’ve pared the show down so far only to add brand new stuff that... frankly sounds like a nonsensical ‘update/upgrade’. I don’t know if you’ve all heard about the Charmed reboot, where (amongst other things) they changed one of the 3 sacred powers of the Charmed bloodline from "the ability to see the future" to "the ability to hear other people’s thoughts", which (in addition to being a skeezy power) just leaves me asking “why? What was the point of it? Can you really not work with the provided material to tell the story you’re after?”
Fate‘Saga is kind of like that, choices have been made that leaving me going "...what?!".
There are ways to tell an amazing story about a group of 4-7 teenage girls being Bad-asses in live action in just a few episodes.
It’s called “Project Mc ²”
The choice to remove two of the founding members of the Club only to add a new player is... it makes no sense. Especially since 'Terra' is a completely original for the series character. (… five [non-monetary currency of choice] says she's an Earth Bender.)
Look, we can make educated guesses as to why specific characters made the cut as far as the boys are concerned: Sky - main character's love interest Riven - was a teammate of MC's love interest (and a possible love rival) until he teamed up with/ dated the enemy, before his eventual return to the side of 'good.'
Stella and Bloom were the Characters who introduced us to the world of Magic (also the world of Magix), they could be effectively seen as the 'co-captains' of the team.
So now we have to extrapolate based on the shoes the new comers may or may not be filling:
Beatrix may or may not be a fairy version of an amalgam of the Trix.
Ok, that makes sense, they have six episodes, a trio of villains might be too complex for the writers if they also want to give time to the entire Winx Club's character development plus a plot.
Terra... calling it now, her specific non-Flora/Tecna powers will be key to saving the day, otherwise her presence is beyond redundantly offensive. If you remove characters (and don't say sh*t like iconic group is a third of them are missing and one of the remaining members may have been 'ethnicity bent') only to replace them with a brand new character, there had better be a damn good reason.
Unlike the 'Bloom doesn't get along with her adopted parents because they're not her real parents' bull we've been hearing about and (safe bet) exists only for the Drama! (and possibly so it's easier for Bloom to peace out of her normal life in favour of Hogwarts Alfea.)
Then there's the question of: "If Beatrix is looking for a secret hidden by Alfea, does that mean the sought after McGuffin of the season Isn't the Dragon Fire?
THE POINT OF THE RANT:
Honestly, I think if we're going to give Fate'Saga a fair go, we're going to have to approach it as a series that is separate to the Winx Club, as a new and unique universe, because it really does feel like a separate entity, even more so than WOW did.
The actresses involved, from what I've heard, are all so excited about the show, so I want to give it a fair go for them, I'm just... worried about what they've been given to work with.
But until we have the complete show in front of us to judge fairly,  then we are fully entitled to freak out about the people in charge of running our beloved fandom's life action instalment making stupid and ridiculous choices. (Because I swear if Bloom finds out about the 'hidden magical world' via a Hogwarts letter, rather than stumbling across Stella and saving her from Knut and co?! Hell. To. Pay.)

WINX REDUX AU SUMMARIZED: Season 4 (The White and Black Circles)
Or, in which I give the basics of what I’ve changed about the story for the AU. It was originally way more descriptive but if I kept it in that style I would have finished in 2039 and I ain’t got time for that. Let’s cover Season 4!
WINX REDUX AU SEASON 4 - The White and Black Circles
The summer break has ended, and the girls are back in school, still somewhat tired from the last adventure but better overall.
The first week goes more or less as usual, but on the first Sunday, at 4AM, Bloom realizes she’s being observed. She turns around and sees a shadow in her room, and immediately transforms.
The shadow leaves just as fast, and after a small chase, the other Winx also wake up and help Bloom chase the shadow, who in the meantime has turned into a wolf.
Some teachers catch wind of this and also go after them, but the shadow-turned-wolf turns into a bird and escapes through a window.
The Winx and teachers are worried about this, and a quick check-up with the girls as well as the magical analysis performed on the school reveals the person that entered was a Witch, and that he seemed to have a very worrying aura mark on him - the Black Circle.
The girls are confused as to what is an aura mark, and Faragonda elaborates that some groups of magi used to “bind” their Auras together via a ritual, that left an imprint on them in an agreed shape.
The Black Circle being after Bloom worries everyone, as they might think her dangerous, but Faragonda herself admits she doesn’t know much about them - information has been scarce for millenia. (if ya want info, look here!)
On Earth, in a dark forgotten place, Duman arrives back with information - Bloom hasn’t come back to Earth all summer, so the recent magic outburst in Gardenia wasn’t from her.
This worries Ogron, as if it’s not Bloom and it’s not Selina (who they have finally added to their ranks), that means there’s another magi on that city.
Faragonda then relays the girls what they DO know about the Black Circle - and how they’re responsible for Earth’s magic stagnation. Given they targeted Bloom specifically the Winx think they might be looking for another magi on Gardenia, as they knew who she was and where she probably lived.
At this point, Bloom is determined to learn more about them and see if there’s another magi on Gardenia and hopefully save them. Faragonda advises against this but Bloom goes regardless, as she feels responsible for the town she’s lived in all her life’s safety.
The other Winx plus Diaspro decide to go as well, but Bloom tells Dia that she should remain here. They have a small argument about it but Bloom points out they’re gonna need someone as backup in case something bad goes down, and she can contact everyone they might not be able to on Earth.
Reluctantly, she agrees, and after some preparations (involving Bloom leaving Kiko with Daphne, which also had to take much convincing in not going with the Winx), the Winx teleport to Earth at last.
They stay with Bloom’s parents for a few days (who are happy to see their daughter again but also trying to see how can they handle 6 girls living in their tiny house), but soon the girls start looking for jobs after forging some identity stuff since the girls don’t have any of that that would work on Earth.
It takes a few weeks but soon everyone gets a job (Bloom is a waitress at the Frutti Music Bar, Stella works in a clothing store, Flora got a place as a security guard on a supermarket, Musa’s helping out Vanessa in her flower shop, Aisha is working at a gym, and Tecna got a place as a tech repairer), as well as a nice-size apartment they can all fit in.
Bloom meets up again with Andy while working, and catch up on lost time, while also meeting Roxy for the first time as her co-worker. She feels weird around her, for some reason.
Days go by and Bloom meets up with Mitzi again, telling her that she’s taking a free year and decided to get back to Gardenia for it. Mitzi informs her that she doesn’t see Selina as often, apparently working with her grandma Eldora on the outskirts of the city.
Bloom thinks back on that weird feeling she had about her around 2 years ago, and considers some things about it that don’t make her particularly excited.
She keeps this to herself, however, as she’s not sure if she’s overthinking stuff again.
The Black Circle members have arrived at Gardenia, starting to pick up faint magic traces around the places the Winx are working, but more specifically around the Frutti Music Bar.
After a few days of looking it up, they realize the extra energy comes from Roxy, meaning she’s the magi they’ve been looking for. Bloom realizes the same after seeing her interact with Artu and some other dogs, feeling the magic around her.
The Winx and the Black Circle both discuss and decide to simply ask Roxy outright, but it doesn’t go well. The Winx approach her first but she simply believes they’re insane and runs away, and the Black Circle try to convince her but the Winx’s interference makes them turn hostile. Battle ensues.
The girls are barely even damaging them - Gantlos’s good at disrupting their magic, Anagan is too fast for them, Duman’s shapeshifting is hard to deal with and Ogron’s control over blood is hard to fight against even with Aisha’s help. Roxy hides as far away from the fight as she can, scared out of her mind.
The Winx are more or less beaten but still give a fight, trusting each other completely even when they might be dealt even more pain.
This act is what finally earns them Believix, the culmination of the last 3 years of friendship and loyalty, and the tides of battle start to turn.
However, the battle is abruptly cut when both parties realize Roxy isn’t there anymore, and not wanting to cause a scene (as they definitely made some noise), they call it even and retreat.
The Winx believe the Black Circle wants to take Roxy’s powers away for their own gain, and refuse to tell Faragonda for now until they get confirmation. Black Circle 4 believes the Winx have other plans with Roxy and become paranoid they involve the White Circle, and refuse to tell this to Ydillith or Eldora for now until they get proof.
The Winx meet up with Roxy again and start explaining stuff properly this time, as well as analyze her magic level and Source thanks to Tecna.
She’s a morpher and has a source of Animals, they ask Roxy if she wants to come to Magix for safety but refuses, she still does not trust them much and she would like to remain on Earth thank you very much.
Few days pass, Bloom slowly teaches her about magic, Roxy starts having weird dreams about a woman in white, supposedly a fairy who reaches out to her.
She tells this to the Winx and also tells them she’s been having weird visions of a barn, and after looking some stuff off she actually has pictures of said barn in her room despite never having gone there.
The Winx plus Roxy then decide to go check it out after a quick google search, and the Black Circle takes notice of this, following them from afar.
The barn has been abandoned for a few years by now and the Winx are wary, but Roxy can feel something calling to her in that place.
The Black Circle appears and the Winx immediately start a fight, not letting Ogron talk at all.
During the fight one of Bloom’s spells gets redirected and the barn is set on fire. The barn Roxy is currently investigating.
Everyone mildly panics and in a weird twist of fate both Aisha and Ogron use their powers to douse most of the fire while Bloom absorbs the smoke, and in the ashes inside Roxy finds a white ring.
Ogron gets in and tries to get her out, but freezes when he sees the ring on her hand. He tries to warn her about it but she ends up blasting him away, her powers starting to show.
The Black Circle bails out and the Winx then start fixing the damages, even if the place is abandoned it doesn’t deserve to be destroyed.
On the trip back home everyone reminisces about why the Black Circle got so scared about the ring, and start to see if they can find any info about it.
A few days pass, and the girls have made no progress - if info about the Black Circle was scarce in Alfea, info about the ring is even more scarce - but they do learn about the White Circle, and what is known about it.
At the same time, Andy’s band is practicing on the Frutti Music Bar, and after seeing Musa sing a bit they decide to invite her for practice, which she accepts.
After the jam session, they ask her if she wants to sing with them for their next concert, which she agrees to - she’s excited, it’s been a while since she has performed in public.
Roxy decided to keep the ring rather than giving it to the Winx at the moment due to her connection to it, but she can feel it becoming… stronger somehow.
The ring is shining brighter and brighter and it’s starting to encircle her, she can feel a voice (tired, vengeful, bitter, angry) screaming in her head, getting louder and louder.
A red and gold aura surrounds her, fiery wings sprout from her back, magic comes from her eyes, a red witch mark on her left eye, now also red, a look of anger in her face.
“Roxy” immediately leaves the bar, ring floating in her hand, looking for “them” and rising to the skies.
Musa takes notice of this, however, and notifies the Winx, who then transform in a hidden place and start following her as well.
The Black Circle 4 are on their “base” (Ogron’s temporary house near the docks), planning what to do next. They still don’t want to contact the higher-ups in case they’re just paranoid, but as they try to come up with something “Roxy” shows up, wrecking the place.
Her voice is warped and echoing, and the Black Circle recognize it - Nebula, the Witch of War, has taken over Roxy, and is using her body to enact her revenge.
She makes quick work of the 4 men and is about to deal the final blow when she’s stopped by the Winx, demanding to know who she is and why did she take over Roxy.
Nebula tries to ignore them but the girls are adamant, and don’t notice the Black Circle getting away.
The Winx use their Essence Dust in a convergence spell on the ring itself rather than on Roxy, and manage to undo the possession, Roxy falling to the ground unconscious.
The Black Circle realize it’s time to finally talk about this and finally contact Eldora, who was going to Gardenia with Selina anyways soon.
The Winx also realize it’s time to finally update people so they contact Faragonda, telling her about Roxy and what they’ve found.
Faragonda immediately offers to study the ring on Alfea as it will be safer than to keep it around there, and also notifies the Winx that they will have to redo their year as they’ve already spent way too long on Earth to just be a short trip.
The Winx also take the chance to get an update on their friends and partners - Diaspro is doing well but has spent most of the year in Quarzis due to some political affairs having gone south, and might have to redo the year as well. Sky and Riven are doing fine though they’re going through a lover’s spat at the moment, Nabu has started to consider enrolling into Alfea to expand his knowledge, and Helia has managed to achieve Enchantix. Brandon, Nex and Timmy are doing fine as well, though they are tired of having to deal with the aforementioned lover’s spat.
Daphne gets contacted later by Bloom alone, and after talking about Kiko and their parents Bloom confides in Daphne that aside from Roxy, she feels an old friend of hers might also be a magi and is worried about her.
Daphne asks if it's that Selina girl she met a few years ago, and Bloom is dumbfounded - the blonde explains she felt strong magic around her when she was last on Earth but didn’t mention it to Bloom as she wasn’t sure it was her magic or just Earth’s low ambient energy screwing with her.
Bloom starts to get worried about it more but thanks Daphne and cuts the call, immediately calling Selina to see if she’s available soon. She tells her she’s currently out of town but she will be there in a few weeks, so they can meet then.
A few days pass, and Roxy’s getting a better handle on her powers after becoming afraid of them thanks to Nebula - enough that when a fire breaks out near them with the Winx going to help, she finally manages to transform into her Charmix, and now the Winx can start teaching her more advanced stuff. Roxy also tells her dad about her magic at around the same time, and he’s surprised but not overtly, and tells her about how he became her dad, having found her one day at the beach with a very weird cloth around her.
Several more incidents start to happen on Gardenia, and the Winx start to gather a reputation as heroines, though thanks to Believix’s changes to their form their identities are still hidden.
Around the same time, Musa keeps helping Andy’s band with their work, and during a performance at the Frutti Music Bar they get noticed by Jason Queen, a famous talent scout that offers them a small gig.
Everyone is excited about it but also clarify that Musa’s not really part of their group, and since he commented on her voice they’re not sure what to think.
Jason offers them the gig regardless, and does mention that Musa can simply work as a solo act later on to differentiate - after all, collabs are a thing.
A few more days pass of the Winx training Roxy, but she starts having dreams again with the lady in white, and the girls get concerned a bit, though they are surprised when Roxy mentions she keeps talking about the “White Circle”, and the name similarities catch everyone’s attention as they start investigating.
It was the official name of the kingdom of magi that existed almost 2 millennia ago, that was wiped out by the Black Circle, info about them as scarce as info on their destroyers. (You can, however, learn about them here!)
The Winx start believing the White Circle might still exist, and that they could be what the people trying to contact Roxy want - to free them from their prison.
A few more quiet days go by before the Black Circle 4 suddenly break into their dorm, trying to talk with them and also get the White Ring, wanting to properly explain everything since they might not be aware of what the White Circle truly is.
They’re not given the chance, however, as the Winx immediately transform and start attacking them aided by Roxy.
The Winx do have the Ring back with them as Faragonda couldn’t detect anything about it, and the fight goes on long enough that they end up going around the entire city.
Bloom and Roxy end up cornered by Ogron in a train station and Roxy uses the ring again, this time channeling the Fairy in White, who still gives Roxy more control. Bloom has fainted at this point.
At least, she does up until Ogron falls into the train tracks, as a train is coming fast.
Roxy tries to help him as she does not want him to die like that, but the Ring removes all control, the voice in her head telling her this is what he deserves for opposing “them”.
Roxy is confused and scared once more before an elderly Fairy in pink and a young Witch in green stop the train dead in its track, saving Ogron and taking him.
The Fairy in pink warns Roxy about the ring and that she would like to explain everything properly, and the Witch in green seems to be focused on Bloom before leaving with the rest of the Black Circle.
The rest of the Winx regroup and Bloom wakes up thanks to Flora’s magic, and Roxy tells them about what happened. Bloom has a bad feeling about the Witch in green, and decides that they need to solve the Ring’s mystery right now and see what the White Circle deal is.
After a ritual, the Winx learn about the Island of Tir Nan Og and how it was the place of the main castle of their kingdom, and thanks to Bloom being a folklore nut the girls also learn of its placement near Ireland.
After a few days of preparations and with Stella’s crosier, the Winx teleport to the island with Roxy in the hopes everything will be explained soon.
After some mishaps with shadow monsters and everyone giving Stella the biggest side-eye of the century, the girls finally figure out what the Ring is for - it’s a key, specifically the last key needed to undo the barrier spell on the island and finally free the White Circle.
At around the same time, Eldora shows up again at the Peters’s house to see if they know about Bloom, and finally reveals who she is - she’s a founding member of the Black Circle, and after the last incident she wanted to properly explain everything.
However, Mike and Vanessa tell them about the Winx’s trip to Tir Nan Og, and she panics, realizing it’s too late.
The Winx plus Roxy finally meet the White Circle, and are surprised at their appearance - 5 Ascendix magi are at the front, followed by an army of Glamourix, Enchantix and Valiantix magi, with some seemingly wearing a transformation they weren’t aware of, matching each Ascendix.
Morgana formally introduces herself to the Winx alongside her Generals (Diana, Aurora, Nebula and Sibylla). Roxy recognizes Morgana as the Fairy in White and Nebula as the woman that possessed her, and is reluctant around them.
Morgana then starts talking about her plans of reconquest, of how they’ve lost much land during their imprisonment and that it’s gonna take quite a while before they can “enforce” their will over the planet again.
The Winx pick up on what she means and confront her, about how she’s planning to basically take over the world. Morgana counters with saying that it’s only natural, the world has been overrun with non-magi and they cannot govern themselves.
Morgana offers them a place in her ranks as thanks for freeing her but they immediately refuse, telling her they will not allow her to simply take over the world - it’s doing just fine without them.
Nebula and Sybilla are angered by this but Morgana stops them, letting them go but warning them that if they interfere, she will not show mercy.
The girls go back to their dorm and find the Black Circle 4 there, and after what just happened they decide to finally learn their story.
Eldora is also there, and after the 4 finish, she calls Yllidith and tells him they will need to call up some reinforcements, meaning they need to start communication with the Naerys System again.
A portal appears in front of them, with Diaspro, Helia, Nabu, Daphne and the Specialists coming out of it, the girls having contacted them on their way back.
They’re all worried about what happened and are surprised by the Black Circle, but they listen to their story and decide to start planning for what will happen now.
A few days of calm pass before the city is suddenly overrun with giant plants, destroying some buildings as well as giant bugs appearing on the streets.
The Winx plus the Black Circle and their friends start trying to save as many people they see, and they decide to split to cover more area.
Bloom finds her parents as well as Mitzi and her sister Macy being cornered by a giant spider, and while she immediately jumps to save them giant mushrooms start surrounding the arachnid, warding it off.
Bloom looks for who could have done that and sees a Witch in green in the roofs.
She recognizes the Witch as Selina and immediately goes to confront her, having her suspicious confirmed that she was a magi.
Selina confronts her as well about the fact she never told her about her powers, but they’re both immediately called out by Mitzi after Stella frees her from the web, demanding the two of them to come down right now.
They have a stern talk about magic and about how long they’ve had these powers, and about how neither of them saw it fit to tell each other, their oldest friends, about the fact they can sprout wings from their backs now. Mitzi is hurt but overall not surprised, and after calming down starts teasing them about how their childhood fantasies are true now.
Everyone is able to laugh about it after finally properly talking about it, and having been open with her emotions also earns Selina her Glamourix. Mitzi questions what that is, but Bloom tells her she will explain everything properly once everyone is safe.
They rally everyone back to the Frutti Music Bar (as the vines don’t seem to affect that place for some reason), and after meeting with the Black Circle again they believe this is the work of Diana, the Witch of Lush Nature.
The gang also meets Yllidith there, an elderly man who claims to be the Fairy of Dawn Fire.
With Flora’s help and some extra magic, they manage to find from where Diana’s magic comes from - the Amazon.
After some planning and with stronger rituals the Winx, Eldora and Ydillith teleport to the Rainforest, everyone else left back in Gardenia in case things go south again.
They manage to travel the land more or less fine, but they somehow stumble into a small secluded area, a small spring marked by pillars.
The Winx decide to approach it as it irradiated strong magic, with Ydillith and Eldora looking out for any signs of trouble.
The girls find a small, almost translucent flower floating in the middle of the spring, and when the girls interact with it they can feel a rush of energy coursing through them.
They look at each other and realize that a) holy crap Tecna’s hair is brown, and b) they all seem to be in that weird transformation they saw the Earth magis in.
They reunite with Eldora and Yllidith and they elaborate that they found the Shrine of Dianix, Diana’s handcrafted form to differentiate her followers from the rest.
at around the same time some of Diana’s followers find them and start chasing them, and a fight ensues.
After a bit Diana herself joins the fight, calling Eldora and Yllidith traitors to the White Circle and elaborating on who they are.
Diana also reveals that Eldora was once her tutor in magic having the same Source, and feels personally betrayed by how she left the White Circle.
The battle goes on, and after a bit both sides start getting tired. However, their fighting has masked another sound - a sound of destruction.
They all stop and decide to rush to the origin of the sound, finding Nebula and her followers destroying part of the forest, taking wood to craft more weapons, as her forge has been lost to time and has to do with what she can.
This makes Diana livid, and starts attacking Nebula for having destroyed her sanctum all willy-nilly. The Winx and the Black Circle decide to help as well, and being outnumbered, Nebula retreats.
Diana manages to calm herself down, and renounces her title as General of the White Circle - she cannot support those that will destroy nature for their own goals.
She joins the Black Circle officially now, and Eldora is happy to be able to connect with her former student once more, seeing her as a second daughter.
Diana undoes the spell on Gardenia and everyone returns to as close as normalcy as they can, with the Winx telling everyone else of how it went.
Yllidith and Eldora try to contact the other realms for help and do manage to get with the Order of Mana, but sadly preparations will take quite a bit, so they might need to wait.
A few more days pass and news come from Northern Italy that several towns have pledged alliance with the White Circle, claiming to “return to their rightful place as their servants”. This is, quite obviously, suspicious as all hell, and our heroes aided by the Black Circle 4 and Selina teleport to some caves near the Sibillini Mountains, where the “servants” seem to be working.
Ogron recalls the place as Sibylla’s sanctum, a place where she acted as the Judge of the White Circle.
Bloom and Selina have a proper talk on the way about how and when they discovered their magic, and of how each girl chose the path of fairy or witch.
Roxy starts to be more or less harassed by Morgana, using magic to get inside her head trying to convince her to come to their side. She doesn’t tell everyone yet, but they start to become more frequent.
On the way they are attacked by some of Sibylla’s magi followers as well as their mind-controlled servants, which forces the gang to be careful with their attacks.
The Winx default to fighting off the magi, while the Specialists try to contain the brainwashed folks as the Black Circle makes a convergence spell to dispel the mind-control (they tried Essence Dust, didn’t work on its own).
They succeed in freeing the people and defeating the magi, and finally reach the deepest part of the caves.
Sibylla decries them as traitors to the true kingdom much like Diana did and that they will face “Justice”, before starting a fight with them aided by some of her followers, displaying Sibyllix.
The fight is long, but they manage to overpower Sibylla and defeat her. She retreats back to Tir Nan Og, and her influence also disappears from the place.
Everyone goes back to Gardenia once more and start planning on what else to do, as the White Circle is starting to advance even further and they need to strike soon.
The planning takes a week and a half before Aurora herself shows up on their makeshift base, freaking everyone out.
She tells them that she’s there to join them - she was never interested in this reconquest, she just wanted to be back home with her followers. However, Nebula and Sibylla are making that difficult, wanting her back on their side and wrecking havoc on Antarctica, her sanctum.
Aurora also notices Roxy’s pains and, as proof of her turning, undoes Morgana’s spell - Morgana may be queen, but she’s not stronger than her (in her case former) Generals.
She requests the specific help of the Winx and Roxy, as Morgana seems to have a special interest in them, Roxy more than the others.
After a bit of last-minute planning Aurora, the Winx and Roxy depart for Antarctica, thought first Aurora brings them to a different place in the frozen scape - a small shrine-like ice construction near the shorelines close to Argentina.
She asks the Winx to enter it, and when they do, they gain Aurorix - the form created by her. She keeps Roxy from gaining it as she wants the Winx to blend in in her troops, and for Roxy to be noticeable in her Charmix.
Once everything is prepared, they go to her actual sanctum - a giant tower of pure ice slightly levitating above the ground. They find Nebula there trying to rally her followers to action, aided by Sibylla, but they remain loyal to Aurora and no one else.
The Winx quickly disperse into her people to go unnoticed, and Aurora and Roxy rise to her tower’s entrance.
Aurora tells her that she has managed to gain Roxy to her side, and if they manage an agreement, Roxy will willingly join Morgana for whatever she wants - they all know Morgana is strangely fixated on her, and they’re curious as for why.
Aurora wants details on what Morgana’s overall plan for the Earth is, and if they tell her, Roxy will go with them.
Nebula is eager to share the plans, but Sibylla can sense Aurora’s hiding something, and before Nebula can speak Sibylla activates the tower’s magical flight, rising it to the air.
The Winx immediately drop their pretense and chase after the tower, and with this Nebula recognizes them.
Sibylla stops the tower again and calls out Aurora for her betrayal, as the Winx join her sides. Nebula immediately gets a hold of Roxy and tries to simply kidnap her, but Aurora immediately freezes her to the ground.
At the same time, however, Sibylla does the same for her, disrupting her magic with her own control over sound and rocks and tries to make a deal: if she leaves them leave with Roxy, she’ll leave the tower alone and will let them go scot-free.
Nebula objects to this, wanting proper revenge on the Winx, and this gives Bloom an idea.
She jumps to the Ascendix magi and decides on another deal - she and Nebula will have a duel. If Bloom wins, Nebula and Sibylla leave the frozen continent with nothing, leaving Roxy behind, but if Nebula wins, they get them all as prisoners.
Sibylla considers it for a bit but Nebula immediately agrees, wanting a fight at last and not leaving Sibylla with a choice.
Bloom drops her Aurorix form and goes back not to Believix but to Enchantix, as a sort of handicap - Believix would give her an unfair advantage as being near the Winx makes Believix stronger.
The duel starts, and it initially it goes more on less in favor of Nebula (what with being in the currently most powerful transformation discovered and all), but Nebula’s more impatient and close-combat than Bloom is, which leads to her getting tired faster.
Bloom plays a long game evading and defending and nailing her with arrows when possible, and after a sudden attack on her Bloom finally uses her Dragon Aura fully, knocking Nebula out and winning the duel.
Sibylla angrily holds her promise and leaves with Nebula, but tells them this isn’t over yet, and that the worst is yet to come.
Everyone regroups on the South Pole after bringing back Aurora’s tower, and with the promise of her support, they start planning the last stages of the conflict.
On the way back, Aurora does seem fit to inform them that even if they defeat Morgana, her daughter might still remain - Aelianna, the Princess of Tir Nan Og who was sealed away for millenia in the hopes she could come free them.
Everyone is surprised about this, as nothing they’ve found on the White Circle ever mentioned a daughter - and after mentioning this to Yllidith and Eldora, they were also unaware of this.
Roxy feels her throat tighten at this news, worrisome thoughts filling her head.
Reinforcements from the Naerys System have arrived, and with their help they manage to force the White Circle’s forces back and back even further.
This last move will decide the outcome of the war - an all out assault on the Castle of Tir Nan Og, forcing a siege on them and breaking them apart entirely in the process.
The White Circle starts preparing for said siege, knowing it imminent and concocting a last-ditch resort plan.
Preparations are complete, everyone is as ready as they can be, and the trip starts.
The Black Circle alongside the reinforcements arrive first to Tir Nan Og, and manage to more or less easily deal with the first lines of defense.
The second lines prove more difficult, but the aid of Diana and Aurora make the duels more smooth overall, reaching the courtyards of the castle.
Sibylla, Nebula and Morgana are there, calmly waiting still, and before a fight breaks out Morgana announces their surrender, throwing everyone off.
As proof of her word, she gives Ogron the White Ring, holding most of her power, as she claims. All the magis around them also drop their weapons, which adds to her claims.
Everyone can tell something’s suspicious going on, buy Ogron does accept the ring.
Morgana smirks, and the ring explodes into a beam of pure shadows.
Ogron manages to back away fast enough, but the power expands, destroying everything around it turning into ash.
The White Circle retreats further into the castle as they cast a barrier around the entrance, and slowly everything starts to be absorbed into the darkness.
Everyone tries to contain the spell but it’s almost impossible, and a retreat is ordered.
However, Nabu rushes to the front - after all, his Source is Darkness, he might be able to do something about it.
Summoning his staff he manages to redirect the spell back to their casters and most of it dissipates against the castle taking a few towers with it, but there’s still some of it left and it threatens to expand once more.
Nabu then decides to absorb the darkness into his staff and into himself, pushing his magic to the limit and almost overloading his body.
He does manage to absorb all of the spell but his body ends up incredibly damaged, and he falls to the ground seemingly dying.
This great act manages something else - achieving Enchantix, removing most of the negative effects of what he just did.
He’s still dying, however, as the pain remains and it’s close to overtake him fully.
Most of the healers rush in and try to keep him alive for as long as they can before he can receive proper treatment, Helia between them.
In a desperate move to save his friend, and despite most of the team’s protests, Helia uses the Spell of Renewed Life on him, removing the last of his injuries and revitalizing him almost fully, earning Altheix.
However, Nabu has fallen into a deep coma, and detransforms while unconscious.
Helia and the Specialists offer to take care of him for the time being while everyone else charges after the remaining members of the White Circle, and the team advances into the castle proper.
Once there they manage to defeat the last few warriors inside, cornering Nebula, Sibylla and Morgana in the throne room.
In a last ditch attempt to get her to her side, Morgana reveals to Roxy that she’s her mother, and that she is Princess Aelianna of Tir Nan Og.
She tells her that this is her kingdom, this is her birthright, and that she should be alongside her, overseeing the planet, guiding them with their magical might - without them, the world has fallen into strife and pain. She has been attempting to contact her all this time in her dreams, trying to push her to do what she should, but she has refused, and she doesn’t understand why. Can't she see that we’re doing what’s best?
This is Roxy’s absolute breaking point, and angrily spits back to Morgana that she will never join them - she has done nothing but harass her, get inside her head, try to break her inside and out so she can join her side, and she thinks being her mother is gonna change that? The White Circle needs to be stopped, and the Earth does not need rulers like her.
Her blunt answer and outing of her feelings manages to earn her Glamourix, and Nebula and Sibylla are livid at this. If she dares to reject the crown like that, then she will die with the rest.
Morgana runs deeper into the castle even still, Nebula and Sibylla remaining to fight.
They’re vastly outnumbered, however, and while they gave a great fight, they’re soundly defeated and taken prisoner.
The Winx plus Roxy rush after Morgana during this, and in the deepest part of the building, they finally fight her.
She proves a difficult fight, as her powers over light are immense and even together they barely make a scratch.
Despite everything, however, she cannot bring herself to hurt Roxy, and after a few moments, the Winx use this to their advantage.
Roxy puts herself between every single attack Morgana makes, forcing her to undo the magic and try again, tiring her out and make her careless.
Getting even more frustrated she finally breaks, and simply starts attacking everything at once.
This ends up exhausting her greatly, and with the best opening they can get, the Winx plus Roxy use a convergence spell on her, knocking her out of her transformation and ending the war. The Black Circle has won, and Earth has gotten its freedom back.
Some weeks have passed, and everything is a mess: Nebula, Morgana and Sibylla have been taken to Magix for their crimes, and there’s a high chance their magic will permanently be limited to the point its unusable. The entire planet has to deal with the fact magic exists, has always existed, and it’s now coming back, with more and more people discovering they can use it, not to mention the fact life on other planets exist and they now have communication with them.
Thanks to the Black Circle’s help, however, the process has been smoother than it would have been otherwise, even if dealing with politics is a pain.
Those from other planets go back, the Specialists and Diaspro having to deal with the fact they more or less ditched school to go save another planet, and worried of what consequences they will face, same goes for Daphne.
Roxy is now an official member of the Black Circle, and she’s helping with searching for new magis around the country and trying to explain everything as she can. She will enroll to Alfea next year to further develop her magic in a more controlled space, as Earth will remain a mess for a few more years.
Eldora is considering getting help from the System again to build their own school dedicated to the use of magic, as most people will not trust interplanetary trips yet, and so magic can be better studied and controlled, avoiding a repeat of the White Circle’s situation.
Nabu has not woken up yet, and an analysis shows the spell absorption has more or less put him into a magic-induced dream of sorts, so for now Helia will take him to Ohm so he can be under the care of actual professionals, him also wanting to help out.
Bloom, Aisha and Stella are more or less forced to come back to their kingdoms as they need to act as ambassadors for both their realms and Earth, having experienced first hand everything that went down, with the other Winx going back as well to check on their families and help integrate Earth into their world.
Bloom, Mitzi and Selina promise to keep in contact fully this time, and after saying goodbye, everyone goes back to Magix, happy to have restored Earth’s magic even if that wasn’t the plan.
Everything is more or less peaceful once more, even if the path is still bumpy, and for now, everyone can relax...

i have a very important question to ask you: which Winx Club characters do you think are most like yours in terms of their personality/power? (honestly though I rewatched Winx Club and had to ask you this question, sorry if it seems random!)
omg no random questions are the best ones!!
so, Sayara is definitely Bloom, that’s like. that’s like a Thing. Bloom is one of those characters that I stole from when I made self inserts, I really liked her, therefore of COURSE my ultimate self-insert has to be Bloom. Sayara’s a pastiche (and eventually deconstruction) of like ten zillion Mary Sue protagonist tropes, and what is Bloom if she isn’t also that? The former, not the latter, the day Winx Club gets thoughtful and deconstructive is the day I dissociate to another planet.
Sayara’s powers probably have more in common with Stella’s, though, b/c Stella’s the fairy of light and the sun and stuff. Sayara’s a light elemental who grows up to do fire and lasers. but we don’t actually get a whole lot of information on what Stella’s powers /are/ now that I think of it, because Stella is The Lamest Winx and only ever talks about clothes or her special staff ring thing. Sayara also has a weapon that turns into jewelry? Sayara also shoots lasers? I don’t know. when I was little I always wanted SO BADLY for Stella to be an awesome badass, but instead I got the dumb blonde stereotype 2.0 who’s mildly cool once in a while, and I’ve never really gotten over it.
(I’m sorry for how mean I am about Stella, I just have a grudge.)
Amalie gets to be at the top of this list because Amalie was specifically inspired by Layla/Aisha. She’s since drifted, most of the drifting happened during my edgy middle school phases, but they’ve still got some stuff in common. It’s in the more or less no-nonsense attitude, and the competence, and the fact that they both wander in late to the story, more or less dragging the inciting incident along on a plot string. Amalie gets to connect the dots between the book 1 plot and the series plot.
Aelia is like Musa but a little goofier. Her actual powers don’t map well to any particular Winx, but personality-wise Musa is pretty close. Elli’s powers are a ~secret~. (I will give you this, though: early incarnations of her were specifically inspired by one of the witch characters.)
Violet is Darcy. I know Darcy is a villain and not a Winx but listen it’s the truth. Vi is mean and self-absorbed and a bit vindictive, she has trouble listening to people, and she really does act like a bad guy for most of book 1. When she mellows out later on she’s still snappy and unpleasant. Plus Darcy is the psychic one, and Violet is infamous in-series for being the grouchy psychic.
Lavender’s Flora but a bit less hippy and a bit more composed… Lavender doesn’t have plant powers in canon, but she does in 90% of my AUs, and she would if she wasn’t an Illusion/Darkness elemental in the story. Iani’s the healer archetype of the group and Flora falls the closest to that category.
I really don’t know which one Kyrina would be. Powers-wise she’s most like Stormy I guess, because she does lightning and wind magic, but personality-wise I’m not that sure? I feel like, honestly, she’s an evil minion. She yells a lot and she’s annoying and loud, but she doesn’t have the pure concentrated malice of most Winx Club villains. She’s not malicious in and of herself, she’s an immature child who doesn’t know better and whose authorities are actively avoiding teaching her morals. Kyrina hurts people because nobody’s told her she shouldn’t, and she’s selfish and wants what she wants. So, Trix vibes, but I’m not sure how to pin her down. Maybe she’s still Stormy.
Dusk doesn’t match well, because Winx Club isn’t prone to the kinds of uh… moral nuance that define Dusk’s character. I guess she could be Tecna. Some kind of strange… strange Tecna/Trix fusion.
It’s funny you asked me this question today, because I’ve been thinking hard about making a Winx OC lately. I haven’t made OCs for an existing universe in ages but Winx Club was such a huge part of my childhood. I love them….
Unrelated note re: Winx Club… can I just ask what the fuck happened to the art style? Look at this picture from season 7,  I mean, look at their FOREHEADS!! Their foreheads are so big! It’s disturbing! Also, the outfits are sort of cute for fashion dolls, but they all look the same. If you put these in black and white I definitely couldn’t match them to the characters. Tecna is wearing a skirt and I hate it!!! I miss Musa’s short hair!!!! Why is Daphne there she’s supposed to be a creepy memory ghost oh my god
Tumblr media
Winx was never good for diverse bodies and faces, but the character designs were unique and distinguishable by hairstyle and personality and fashion. Stella has a different look than Bloom, who has a different look from Tecna, or Musa, or Flora, or whoever else. The new seasons just keep discarding the unique little visual traits that make the girls unique and special…… *old person grumbling* I’ve been tempted to watch the new seasons for a long time but this stuff makes me afraid to… I don’t want to know what they’ve done to my childhood.
other side note, season 4 starts with the Winx being hired as teachers at Alfea, immediately after they graduate, and they don’t even know what class they’re teaching. They’re not even teaching a class! They’re just hanging out showing off to the students! I don’t understand how they don’t know what class they’re teaching.
EDIT I forgot about Hope and Fianora and that’s because I have no idea, fuck, Fianora is Daphne or something nothing is real
