MY OPINIONS ON THE NEW TEASER OF WINX CLUB SEASON 9!!!
So let me just say it right up: the designs SUCK. If they were inspired by the celebrities of the 2000s in the first place, we should be inspired by the 2010-2020 celebrities. Stella is the WORST one out of the bunch, followed by Musa, Aisha, Flora, Bloom and finally Tecna. Tecna and Bloom devoured ngl.
Oh my God, Knut is there. The ogre. He was a silly guy, now we get THAT? How is he becoming an Alfea janitor?? Is he gonna switch forms??? Or is he straight up dying???
It looks cringe. This is straight up fanfiction now. No Mike and Vanessa? Bloom doesn't get to accidentally reveal her powers either. Just... "haaaaaaAAAAGHHHH!!!" and knock out! Ew.
Bloom doesn't feel like that curious girl from before. She looks straight up like a generic main character. A "Uhm... A-a-are y-you t-talking about m-me?" Kind of girl.
We see a girl flying across the school. WHAT. Wasn't magic prohibited? How? It's a generic superhero school now.
And what the fuck will happen? Which characters are there? We know the ones that are CRUCIAL to the story outline.
Headmistress Griffin
Daphne
The teachers
The specialists (subplot shit)
Specialists are here. We haven't seen the others though.
They're still a hive mind. Fuck.
Alfea became depressed as shit. It's dull.

Which caracters will you redesign in the rewrite season 2?
I know for sure that in addition to Diaspro, we'll be seeing Nabu, Roxy, Faragonda (who there's been a very surprising demand for) and probably Griffin, and I would really like to do Mike and Vanessa.
And all four of our antagonists of course.
I'm also thinking about doing Charmix designs for the Winx since I think I've improved a lot since the beginning and sort of feel like the girls look lame next to everybody else now.

You know doesn't the water star catcher kinda look like a Charmix gem??? I saw someone post about it and my first thought was "wow this would be perfect for Diaspro's Charmix"

5 Things I DESPERATELY want for the Winx Club reboot
Tumblr media
A balanced, inclusive story. Seasons 1-3 of the original series were amazing, but Tecna and Flora felt super neglected in terms of their world and backgrounds (I remember it's said in the RAI dub that Tecna is an android, and I'd love for that to be canon). It'd also be fun to see more of Andros and the merpeople without having to wait 5 seasons for it.
Male fairies. They've been shown in the background of the original show, but their designs are very basic and without any transformations.
The specialists are developed, fleshed-out love interests and we nix all of the toxic moments. We don't know a large amount of them outside of Sky, and the Sky/Diaspro/Bloom love triangle is just messy and unnecessary. Riven deserves an arc where he overcomes his toxic masculinity and sexism due to how his mom abandoned him and see the Winx and specialists help him with that. Plus I kinda want them to be magical rather than guys with magical weapons; they don't really stand a chance against magical villains, and their skills don't seem as cool next to sorcerers, fairies, witches, and wizards. I'd also like for Nabu to be a part of the group from the get-go, and Nex and Roy can be supporting characters. And let them have more clothes!
Meaningful transformations. In the original, Charmix is about overcoming insecurities, Enchantix is earned via sacrifice, and everything afterwards is a group project (even if some of them have nice designs). More meaningful requirements that contribute to their mental and emotional growth should be incorporated into the transformations--if they end up going beyond Enchantix.
Clarify what Daphne's situation is and let Bloom ENJOY Domino. At first Daphne was cursed by the witches to become a disembodied spirit, and then it was clarified that it was her Sirenix transformation that was cursed. I liked the idea that Sirenix could turn you evil like Politea, though Daphne being a disembodied spirit as a result of the transformation felt like an odd retcon. If they want to use Sirenix later, perhaps have it exist as an evil transformation, resulting in why Bloom has to fight Daphne while Aisha fights Tritanus. And I just want Bloom to be able to enjoy her time in Domino when it's restored rather than immediately going back to business.
And I'll just be that guy: is there ANY way to get the 4kids cast to do the English dub? If not, I made a post with my own fancast for the girls and the specialists. Haven't made one for the villains yet, though.

i've never been a fan of all the transformations added to Winx Club after Enchantix. But i like the idea of a Fairy/Witch being able to broaden their powers outside of their birth Realm's Magic. So, i've worked out my own thing, which is still similar, even if it doesn't lead to extra transformations.
the major transformations of Fairies are Magic Wings, Charmix, Enchantix and Faerix
the major transformations of Witches are Manifest, Relic, Enchantress and High Witch
both of them can connect to the magical cores of the Realms after Charmix/Relic.
For example Diaspro connects with the Magical Core of Eraklyon. Her transformation changes visually - gems on her outfit and more metallic accessories - and she becomes a Guardian Fairy of Jörd's Crystal. But since she is from there it's really only a boost to her magic, which means she will have an easier time becoming a Faerix Fairy after she's earned Enchantix.
Nova on the other hand is from Solaria and will connect with the Magical Core of Domino. It will change her transformation, make her a Guardian Fairy of the Vortex of Flames and change her title from Fairy of Warming Lights to Fairy of Fire Light.
There are only a few Fairies and Witches who try to connect to every Realms Magical Core.

imagine it, diaspro ends season 1 as an antagonist, but her malice is born of being hurt by sky then in season 2 she gets her charmix after she realizes her self worth and forgives bloom and becomes an allied force

Hey, Winx Club Fans....💙✨
Were you a huge fan of the series in its Golden Years from Seasons 1-4? Were you disappointed in the direction the series took from Seasons 5-8? Were you okay with the later seasons, but wished there was something more? Do you wish the characters were expanded more? Well, have no fear because your wishes have been granted....in a way! I came across Thomas Vaccaro or Unicorn of War's Winx Club rewrite of Season 5 & 6 and it's been very entertaining! Season 5's rewrite decides to make some extreme changes by having The Winx stay guardian fairies & teachers/teaching assistants at Alfea since they canonically graduated, having Roxy be their pupil plus 7th member in the group, making Princess Krystal of Linphea more of an antagonist, using more Enchantix & Believix power (with added in Zoomix wings), only having Sirenix as the main transformation this season, and there's even some changes done for our villains too. While Tritanus is still a constant threat alongside The Trix, this season's rewrite is split into two different MAJOR threats! The first half of the season involves The Ancestral Witches while the second half deals with Politea. Each of The Winx have their moments to shine as they're faced with new challenges and new powers. To those who are interested, here's Part 1 of the 2-part Season 5 rewrite:
youtube
To those who still aren't convinced, there's a ton of fun material put into Season 6's rewrite! While there are plotlines and continuity that came from the Season 5 rewrite, we still focus on what Season 6 had to offer. The wannabe witch Selina, Fairy Godmother Eldora, the villainous Acheron, and the power of The Legendarium! This time, The Trix aren't interested in being sidekicks to a greater evil anymore so they plan on making their own coven of powerful beings. In doing so, Selina offers to let them take her under their wings so she can use The Legendarium for her and Acheron's gain. Meanwhile, The Winx (especially Bloom) are now in a spot where they're drifting apart leaving them with having to reconstruct their friendship while also having to save the day once more with new powers such as Mythix and Ardorix (yes, Bloomix has been renamed Ardorix for this rewrite). Selina's use of The Legendarium brings out original threats like The Rose King, The Silent Phantom, & The Dark Sirens, but there's also a few returning threats like The Wizards of the Black Circle and Lord Darkar. Thankfully, this season's rewrite gives us some friendly familiar faces like The Pixies, Buddy the Dragon, Princess Galatea, & companions from Cloud Tower. This season's rewrite really uses the concept of the 10th year anniversary to take in nostalgic elements and expand on them. We have the return of previous transformations again, we have the return of Dark Bloom, we have the return of Chimera from Season 3, we have another Hallowinx episode, we have Professor Avalon getting more involved since Season 2, we have Princess Diaspro turning a new leaf (it was noticed before in Season 5's rewrite), we get to know more about Stella's lunar side of the family, & we even get proper yet slightly unofficial backstory on The Trix! The Winx Club are also faced with their own dilemmas in their relationships that they'll have to conquer. If you're still not interested, at least look at these Mythix redesigns made by Tixel Mcquade because they are GORGEOUS! They follow this traditional fairy aesthetic with their magic wands made of their Charmix pins! Here is Episode 1 of the 30-episode Season 6 rewrite:
youtube
Tumblr media
Personally, I really have to thank Thomas and his team who participated in these projects because they really did fill this hole that I felt regarding my feelings to how the series went after its golden years. The rewrites are so fun to listen to and they're so amazingly well-written. It's so good that I wish it was actually canon! If only...in a different universe. It's a lot to listen to, but I hope you get a lot of enjoyment from it just as I did.

So my friend on the The Union Of War Discord has this Winx AU about the characters future children and the political drama is juicy
So I had to make an oc for it
This is Blaine, Diaspro and Darcy’s son and the “oc”est oc I think I’ve ever made He’s a Fairy/Witch hybrid, the Squire of Bloom and Sky’s son whom he’s desperately in love with and is gonna get his heart broken by, and the prince of a new Kingdom who’s lost his title as heir to the throne because why not at this point And Fairy of Darkness because duh
Pure indulgence here. Healing my inner 14 year old who was too restrained with her ocs out of fear of them being “mary sues”
These are sketchy concept for his Magic Winx and Enchantix looks, + a Charmix Brooch. I’m still trying to figure out his Enchantix look. It doesn’t feel like Enchantix yet, but I’m also taking into account that he’s not 100% a fairy. He does have the big wings too, but I didn’t draw them why?

Do you think something being adult like fate could work like maybe the trix spin off. They could have them partying hard and outfits showing off but also being more mean to other people and stuff. Probably alot of swearing too
I definitely could see a successful live action happening but not with the direction Winx is going currently (and has been for a good while.) I think there are a lot of things that need to be taken into consideration and they're things that very few people (much less Brian Young) can handle well.
Issue One: Style
Seasons 1 through 3 handle the balance between style and substance fairly well, everything is clearly stylised but it's very character and emotion driven. Winx is a show that has to be heavily stylised, but it can't rely on that over substance. Season 4 onwards lean too heavily on style and aesthetics (as awful as the aesthetics are) and the stories and characters flounder for purpose. I'd say The Idol is a show that is heavily stylised (there are beautiful shots and cool aesthetics but when it comes to the content and the Meat of the show, it's bad.)
Winx has to look good, yes, it's why so many people were initially drawn to it to begin with. But without substance, as the later seasons are, there's very little keeping an audience there. There's only so long we can look at pretty sequences and shots before we get bored. I'd compare it to Euphoria, especially in Season 2, the aesthetics are still good, but the emotional weight isn't there.
It's also a hard aesthetic to balance. Fate looks awful not necessarily because it's ugly in itself (the location is beautiful and some of the outfits do work), but because it looks wrong for a Winx adaptation. The colours are wrong. The clothes are wrong. The world is wrong. Fate is more Harry Potter than it is Winx Club. But leaning too heavily into fairy and ethereal aesthetics also wouldn't be right; it's not meant to look like LOTR. And replicating the costumes 1:1 would simply look ridiculous on human beings (see: the released images of Netflix's ATLA adaptation and how flat Aang and Katara's costumes look on actual humans.) The set and costume styling has to be deeply embedded in actual fashion, but also be timeless enough that it doesn't look dated within a year or so, but also convey the fantastical and sci-fi roots of the show.
I don't think a Winx show needs to have revealing clothes, necessarily. Or even a Trix show. You can dress teens/young adults in an age appropriate manner without putting them in revealing clothes. I know 2021's Gossip Girl was widely hated, but I do think the styling for it was very well done and they manage to dress the characters in ways that are character appropriate that look (somewhat) age appropriate without putting them in lingerie (Zoya comes to mind: she wears sneakers where Luna wears heeled boots, she wears oversized cardigans where Monet wears stiff blazers, she has earthier tones where Audrey wears preppier colours)
Issue Two: Substance
I think Winx, at its core and best, is character driven, and that's why we as fans chose to stay and are still talking about it now. Bloom can't even achieve her base transformation without undergoing significant development in her belief in her own ability. When her magic is taken from her, it's not an external force that brings it back, it's her reconnecting with herself and her past that does. Even when she lost her powers, it was because of emotion (the fight with Diaspro, her returning to Gardenia in shame after, her fear of what the Trix would do to her parents.)
Charmix requires the Winx to overcome a fear/personal challenge that was introduced much earlier (Layla's fear of abandonment, Musa's distrust of Riven, Flora's shyness), and Enchantix requires the girls to come to peace with death. There's a lot of emotional substance to these power upgrades and without that emotional substance, you get a magical world that has no interaction with the characters (an issue we see in Fate, where the characters simply exist within the magical world rather than actually interacting with it.) The characters of Winx Club are driven by their world and drive their world forward. They are this way because they live in this world, and their world is the way it is because they live in it.
Issue Three: Huge Cast
An issue with writing Winx, including fan written versions, is that there are too many characters to flesh out in a meaningful way. A lot of fans complain that there's too large of an emphasis on Bloom in the original show, but it's necessary, otherwise the show would be too massive and sprawling. Especially given the amount of lore that needs to be crammed in.
It's part of the issue with Fate (well at least irt writing) where there's too huge of a cast and how nothing has real emotional weight. I want to care that Beatrix is dead, but she's one of 15 main characters and there isn't time to actually come to care about any of them. When she dies, I (and some others) saw it and kind of just, shrugged it off. There isn't room to care about anyone because they're trying to juggle Bloom's lore, Terra's insecurities (and gayness as of s2), Aisha's emotional issues, Stella's mommy issues, Sky's daddy issues, Riven/Dane/Beatrix's unhealthy relationship, Silva and Farrah's involvement with the Burned Ones, Musa's hatred of her powers. I'm not even touching on the love triangles or Sam, Grey, Flora, or anyone else introduced in s2 of Fate. There's too much going on to actually care about any of them. That's why there's this disparity between what we actually see on screen and the amount we're supposed to care.
I think a Trix driven story, as you suggested, would fix that. There's only three characters to focus on. But I have issue with that mostly on the grounds of "a villain driven story is a hard sell." A Trix spin off, maybe, but not an entire series.
Issue Four: Young Adult
The issue with Fate isn't necessarily the "adult content" (sex parties drugs etc,.) but more the way it's handled. Riven(?) tossing a knife around in the trailer was unnecessary and the shot of that was included solely to make him seem edgy. The references to all the sex being had in the show don't really have a purpose, we know something is going on with Riven, Beatrix, and Dane. We know something is going on with Sam and Musa. We know something is going on with Stella and Sky. The references to sex is unnecessary. The vaping was obnoxious, yes, but that was believable for the version of Riven we see in Fate, he would vape in your face, he would be annoying about it. I think Terra making weed brownies was believable given that we know her character is insecure and a pathological people pleaser, and it's a nice manifestation of those traits without making her outright pathetic.
Another issue is that "young adult" always manifests in characters being snarky to each other and Fate does it in a way that makes the characters appear hostile to each other, and to the audience. It's hard to tell where Musa's snark ends and her actual hatred of the others begin. Is she overwhelmed by her powers? Is she being funny? Does she genuinely hate Terra and want her dead? It doesn't make the show edgy or "dark" or mature, it just creates a hostile environment where none of the girls seem to like each other. This and the aforementioned forced inclusion of sex/drugs/whatever feels like the equivalent of them flashing a massive sign on screen saying "this isn't REGULAR Winx, this is ADULT Winx."

the two Not-Winx girls that do shit with them but aren’t really part of the clique fully! aka Dia and Roxy.
They both take a bit more after their canon forms outfit-wise, but still a bit touched up. Very happy with how Roxy ended up particularly lol

Winx Club Reboot Ideas Pt.2
Season 2 & 3 Ideas
Season 2:
Stella is still trying to get better with her own magic without the help if her staff/ring.
Helia becomes a student at Alfea, since he didn’t feel like being a specialist suited him.
Tecna and Timmy do get closer, he begins to help her try to get better at her and the winx’s fighting. It takes a long time though, Tecna keeps insisting that she works alone and doesn’t need help, especially after her and her team failed to do convergence magic.
It isn’t until the camping trip fiasco in season 2 that Tecna finally opens up to Timmy after he nearly faced death. After that he helps her improve her craft, their still not together but they are getting there.
Flora earns her charmix by asking Helia out.
The more comfortable Xan is becoming with the Winx, the more he’s experimenting with his gender and even music. His regained love of music eventually leads to the girls going behind his back and signing him up as the entertainment for a school event,, resulting in the storyline of season 2 episode 15 (original), where Xan does a concert even without his dad’s permission and sings about his mother…oh yeah and Stormy’s in the mix somewhere.
Keeping Aisha’s story/character arc is the same because goddamn was that well done!
Xan and Aisha become CLOSE! Not romantically, their platonic soulmates as they put it.
Show more of Dark Bloom. The more stressed out, tired and even angry she starts becoming to find her true identity, the more potential Dark Bloom has to take over.
In the end, Octavia takes an interest in improving her skills, she begins to research and study different mechanics, devices and movements to be a better combatant.
Riven and Xan’s relationship is even more scattered than last season,
Xan and Riven come to the conclusion that they wouldn’t work as a couple with how messed up both of their lives have been, they need someone who can balance out their troubles. They may not be together, but both know that doesn’t mean they won’t be friends.
Tumblr media
Season 3:
Octavia begins to find an interest in weaponry and quickly decides to see how she can use her powers to the advantage of weapons.
Xan comes to realize and accept that he is genderfluid.
The whole reason why Diaspro has been so desperate to marry Sky is because she wants what’s best for her people, even though her parents have insisted it’s fine, she took it upon herself to remove herself form the picture and focus on her people.
Introduce Nabu the same way, with the girls getting hot chocolate in the rain, but instead of him STILL following Aisha in the rocket...park... garage...thing- have him enroll in Alfea not just to find out who Aisha is, but to get away from his family and do what he’s always wanted to do with his magic.
Aisha and Nabu actually don’t become a couple (stalking is usually a turn  off for the norm), but they do form a strong friendship, and start to from their own little friend group with Xan and later on Riven.
This..Is where Xan and Nabu start to grow feelings for each other. And Aisha tries to help Xan ask him out, as Riven, while uncomfortable with genuinely communicating with others does try to help Nabu since he knows Xan deserves someone as sweet as Nabu.
The reason why Diaspro joins Valtor’s side is because offers to spare her people form his wrath if she joins his side, she even agrees to hypnotize Sky because she felt if he joined Valtor’s side then she could spare the people of Eraklyon as well.
Octavia dies her hair the iconic magenta OG Tecna has.
Helia earns his charmix through telling Flora that he loves her.
After they find/rescue Octavia thanks to Timmy’s determination, the two nerds finally start going out.
Mirta gains her charmix through finally trusting Lucy.
Have a more climatic finale, with Bloom going all out on Valtor only for her get so blinded by anger she doesn;t know if she actually killed him or if he just vanished.
Tumblr media
All in all, I want the fist three seasons do have differences, but still keep those elements that kept fan watching it, but don’t worry, the next seasons are gonna have the same level of care the first three seasons had...But they’re gonna be DIFFERENT.

winx rewrite: do other characters earn enchantix other than the main six (like diaspro riven mirta darcy etc)?
Mm! Enchantix is the basic form that Faeries will end up getting pretty much eventually as long as they train up and use their Magic often.
Diaspro, Mirta and Riven would get Enchantix a little after the main Winx do because they start training their Faerie Magic later. Diaspro and Mirta both start at Alfea in Season 2, so they'd be third years trying to earn their Enchantix in Season 4(though theirs would be sideplots).
Riven isn't initially as intent on trying to gain and master his Magic. Between some past trauma and just that he's much more of a weapon guy, it's not a priority. He wants to learn some Magic because 1.) good to have on hand and 2.) healing from trauma so he's more comfortable doing so. Given the changes I made, it's still possible for him to progress to Enchantix accidentally, but it probably wouldn't be until late season 4 at the earliest.
However, he'd be much more interested when they learn about Harmonix, which within my AU is a Faerie Form designed for combat specifically. So he might push to get that one.
And for Darcy!
So!
As Faeries and Witches are both the same thing, two sides of the same coin, they both have different forms that parallel each other. In Canon there were a few upgrades that only the Trix got, so I'm yoinking the names to give to all Witches as transformation counterparts. So Charmix = Gloomix, Enchantix = Disenchantix, so on and so forth.
In Season 1, the Trix are third year students and as such already have Gloomix and are working on Disenchantix. As they work on themselves and get dragged to the good side, they end up earning Disenchantix.
Darcy is first at the end of Season 1. Saying that while she is ambitious and power hungry, she has to draw the line somewhere. She's going to get what she wants on her own terms, not by stealing someone's Magic and killing the competition.

What kind of arc or character development would you have wanted to give the characters in the series? Ex. in the case of Timmy, what would his character have been like if they had been more interested in developing it?
This is on top of their already present character arcs
1) Bloom learning to be a leader
2) Expansion on the Charmix plot point where Bloom says shes lost faith in everyone and regained it back
3) Stella dealing with her flippant behavior during serious situations (I swear this is an outgrowth of her thinking people only like her for her looks)
4) Stella learning to like other parts of her self (Stella clearly holds her looks up in highest regard bc she thinks that's the only part of her people like and she wants people to like her, so low self esteem is just a natural consequence)
5) Literally anything for Flora
6) It would have been cool if Flora started out with her late seasons character of being a pushover into her s2 character of being more strong willed
7) Tecna acknowledges the fact that she holds winning above living in a lot of situations (aside from that no notes, Tecna character arcs slay)
8) Musa overcoming her insecurity and dealing with some of her attachment issues (Musa's hostile reaction to Stella, and her immediate obsession with Riven are such "please pick me" behavior. I love her)
9) Attaching Musa's insecurity arc to her being more comfortable in her femininity (Musa constantly mocks Stella for her stereotypical traits and that's on "I'm not like other girls")
10) Aisha clearly hates royal decorum, and politics, and all that stuff, so it always felt weird to me in s3 she flips around to being okay with most of it except for arranged marriages. That should have been dealt with. Either by having Aisha stand up to her parents and reject it all, or by having her parents make concessions and her love of her people outweighing her hatred of royal stuff (Aside from that she slayed on the character development front, no notes)
11) Sky needed a s1 Riven arc. Like, it could have been in s2!!! He was being such a fucking control freak at Bloom, he should of been beatened with the "consequences stick" until he had a "I have a heart" moment, thank you
12) Brandon probably has something going on with putting everyone but himself first and being unable to express his emotions from the child soldier thing and I would love to see that addressed
13) Timmy has a character arc in the background it's just never acknowledged??? Every season they just act that that's how he always was, would love to see Timmy becoming more confident as a part of the narrative and not something they just did bc the plot said so
14) PUT RIVEN'S CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT BACK AND STOP FUCKING TOUCHING IT SHOW!! IF HE WAS JUST ALLOWED TO CONTINUE DEVELOPING THE WAY HE WAS GOING IN S1 AND S2 ID HAVE NO NOTES AND YET
15) Literally anything for Helia
16) the Shab stone route is cool, low self esteem perfectionist is so conserned about fucking group projects up
17) Nabu learning what the world is like after being sheltered for so long would be amazing (s4 lies to you, Nabu gets all his romance knowledge from books and Disney movies, he couldn't give relationship advice if the answer punched him in the face)
18) Diaspro has Riven's problem but worse, at least they never regressed his character back to villain. Like wft!!! Diaspro's character should have been allowed to grow after s2
19) Roxy has an actual arc from hating magic to being cool with it instead of just flipping from one to another when her life is in danger. Like I get it, but that wouldn't make her like magic, that would just make her tolerate it bc it saved her life
20) Galatea realizes that Melody has a huge poverty problem and vows to fix it
21) Chimera realizes her mom sucks and helps Stella (this one is Rus wish fulfillment baybe)
22) The Trix actually reacts to the fact that they've gotten their ass kicked every time they fight the Winx and always get betrayed. Like let them have a mental break down and lash out from rage but mostly Icy
23) Seeing how the Trix ended up following the ancestral Witches. NOT LIKE THAT. I vote cult for Stormy and Darcy, and Icy is just kinda like this. Some people just
24) Mirta and Lucy having some sort of conversation, idc if they make up or stop talking I just want SOMETHING
25) I wanna see an older Anne meet Aisha so bad
