Yuu and gang are going to follow the night fae soldiers to Black Scale Castle beyond the mountains. They can't stay too far from the owner of the dream, Lilia! (If you'll remember, they're now taking Tamago-sama there for safety while Meleanor stays behind to fight the Silver Owls.)

Silver hasn't seen Sebek use his UM??? Sebek tells us he learned his UM when Silver got into NRC and Sebek was training by himself. He wanted to be able to rush to Malleus's side at a moment's notice. He knows it is able to turn his own body into lightning and then can use it to move and to attack. However, the spell will damage his body while using it since he has yet to reach mastery. Sebek can't use his magic to rush to Lilia and the others because he wouldn't be able to fight by the time he does.

AW, SEBEK WASN'T PLANNING ON USING HIS SPELL UNTIL HE MASTERED IT... BUT HE STILL USED IT TO SAVE SILVER 😭

Oh, they finally asked the question we were all having. If Malleus made this dream with the intention of it being a happy ending, then why do only sad things happen in Lilia's dream??? Also, why did OB Malleus not come after them yet or kick them out of the dream??? Maybe there's a reason why Malleus can't supervise or enter Lilia's dream??

SEBEK PROVES HIMSELF A CAPABLE FIGHTER TO HIS GRANDPA!! His hair gets all messy like what's shown in his new SSR. It's raining as well (like in the card art), so this is likely the context for the illustration. The groovy artwork is of Sebek being knighted!!!

Zigvolt family lore!! Baul doesn't get along with his human son-in-law, but never distanced himself from his grandchildren. When Baul's only daughter wanted to marry a human, they argued so much about it. To this day, he still doesn't particularly care for humans. Even so, Baul's house has a lot of storybooks and candy prepared for his mixed grandchildren. He won't open them warmly, but it's clear he loves his family.

Silver saves Lilia!! And then Lilia asks Silver to take the egg to Black Scale Castle in his place. There are too many human soldiers on their trail, and Lilia cannot fight them while holding the egg (plus he's already injured from previously protecting Silver at the easternmost fortress).

Yuu has to hold Tamago-sama...

Silver proceeds to carry Lilia like a baby in spite of Lilia saying he'd stay behind and distract the Silver Owls 🤡 NOT SILVER USING LILIA'S OWN TEACHINGS TO TELL DREAM!LILIA THEY STILL HAVE TO TRY AND SURVIVE

The mountains are called the "Forbidden Mountains" and it is said that this is where Maleficent once lived. If you are not blessed by the dragons, the lightning (according to legend) will strike you down. Beyond the mountain is Briar Country's capital city and Black Scale Castle.

Surprisingly, Silver suggests an ambush method (hide and strike at soldiers from behind when they've let their guard down). I guess NRC really did teach him how to be backhanded after all/j

Silver says maybe Malleus can't follow them since he wasn't born yet in Lilia's dream. Magic relies on imagination, and since Malleus cannot imagine what life was like before he was born... that's probably why he can't monitor these circumstances.

Would you look at that 💀 The first real time the story acknowledges that Yuu is in bodily danger; Silver Owls shoot arrows at Yuu because they're holding the egg. Grimmu protects us!! Baby... Best buddy...

SEBEK ARRIVING TO SAVE SILVER (aksldnbaksdbaydasl lol at Sebek being smug about his knighting and trying to act cool even though the lightning is definitely still hurting him...)

Silver Owls retreat!

Oh wow, so they see creeping black thorns similar to when Malleus OB'd; everyone suspects that maybe Meleanor Overblotted too.

Silver mentions that he lives near the Forbidden Mountains but has never climbed them before. The rocks there are very sharp and dangerously jut out. AW, Lilia gives Silver and Yuu his cloak to protect them from the rain and cold. Lilia says the mountain range is full of magic, so its restorative to fae, who draw power from nature.

The way they came from was sealed off by rocks... but Lilia fully intends to go back and help Meleanor...

THEY MADE IT TO THE CASTLE!! It's called Maleficia's castle; we have an official English spelling for Granny Draconia's name. Something, something, Lilia wants to prepare something called the "Cradle Tower".

WE CUT BACK TO WILD ROSE CASTLE

Like father, like son... The Dawn Knight seems remorseful and wonders where they went wrong, if everyone could have been friends if they had chosen some other way. He wants to dream of a world where all races can live together in peace. "One day, it won't be just a dream, it will be reality." It's phrased very similarly to the wish Lilia made in Wish Upon a Star!

The stormy weather clears up and the dawn makes way... IT'S A SIGN THAT THE DAWN KNIGHT PREVAILED AND MELEANOA'S MAGIC HAS DISAPPEARED... Lilia just lets out the most guttural cries... He says if he were stronger, he would have taken Meleanoa with him against her will, HE WASN'T ABLE TO KEEP HIS PROMISE TO PROTECT MELEANOR FOR HIM

I still want to see Mallemom's on-screen death though.

Side note: they force us to play through a scripted loss battle between the Dawn Knight and Meleanor 💀 Sick fucks on the dev team…

Uhhh okay so there are greenish spirits floating around; they're the senate??? Apparently they've already died but their spirits linger and serve as advisors.

NAUR, NOT THE SENATE BLAMING AND SHAMING LILIA, SAYING HE RAN AWAY AND LEFT HER TO DIE IN BATTLE... THEY CALL LILIA A MUTT AND BAT, JUST A DIRTY ORPHAN WHO CAN’T BE TRUSTED… AND THAT HE ISN'T FIT TO SERVE, THAT HE'S USELESS (this must really sting seeing as Lilia has insecurities about not being wanted 😭)

Baul defends Lilia's honor but Lilia still resigns from the Imperial Guard. HE'S TELLING THE SENATE T HEY CAN PUNISH HIM SO THEY FORBID HIM FROM STEPPING INTO THE CAPITAL AGAIN

The senate uses magic to take the egg away from Lilia AND LILIA SAYS GOODBYE TO MALLEUS BY NAME

"I'm not an Imperial Guard anymore, I don't need to follow orders" — Lilia (when Baul tells Lilia he still has a duty to hatch the egg). LILIA HAS GIVEN UP and that seems to have summoned the darkness of the dream to them. Lilia thinks Meleanor and/or Levan are in the darkness so he wants to "go there too".

When a general retires, they are gifted a lavish home near Black Scale Castle. Sebek says it now makes sense why Lilia lived humbly in a forest cottage far away from the capital. Silver says it must be why Lilia dislikes the atmosphere of the capital and why he never took Silver there.

In a flashforward, Lilia is asked to come back 10 years later. At this point, Tamago-sama has developed more sentience and is actively rejecting the love magic from everyone, even his grandmother. He has only been receiving magic for the first 5ish years or so. Maleficia had Baul act as a messenger to bring Lilia back for a special mission BECAUSE OTHERWISE MALLEUS WILL DIE WITHOUT IT.

Malleus’s egg is being kept in Cradle Tower! It keeps the egg safe and essential incubates it for the royal family.

Land of Briar becomes Briar Valley? The queen cannot always be with the egg because Briar Valley and its surrounding are lands are left in chaos after the war. Briar Valley fae specifically are not allowed in human territories.

Lilia is sent off on to find a way to fix the situation. He says he will see where dragons live in other continents and research. Omg, this must be how he started his travels and learned more about other races and their cultures 😭

“Don’t you dare die, Malleus” — Lilia (AND THE LOVING DEATH THREAT ACTUALLY MAKES THE EGG GLOW)

We see some of Lilia’s travels AND HE WAS IN THE CITY OF FLOWERS ON TOPSY TURVY DAY... The people there were friendly at first and worrying for his health until they realize he's a fairy, then they chase him out.

During one of his routine reports, Lilia is convinced by Baul to speak with Malleus's egg (which now glows green sometimes). Lilia shares stories of his travels with Malleus, trying to keep it positive for the baby to not make Malleus sad.

NEXT LILIA TRAVELED TO THE SCALDING SANDS, A MERCHANT IS ASKING IF HE WANTS TO BUY A MAGIC LAMP... Lilia learns about the importance of souvenirs as keepsakes from that merchant.

Okay, so it looks like between travels we're getting scenes of Lilia reporting back and telling Malleus about the place he most recently visited. He says that the Scalding Sands used to be such a small civilization but has since grown into a sprawling city. It's amazing what kind of progress humans can make.

Malleus is fussy and some days accepts magic, and other days he doesn't. Meleanor was also a really picky eater. Levan carries himself like an honors student but was the type to hide his veggies.

AW, HE SINGS MELEANOR'S LULLABY TO MALLEUS

Next Lilia visits some ruins...? It looks like a background from the Spectral Realm seen in Endless Halloween Night. Lilia says no one lives here, there is only furniture. No ghosts are mentioned though! He uses his UM for the first time here. Far Cry Cradle is probably going to be very useful for investigating ways to hatch a dragon's egg!

Lilia tells Malleus to come out of the egg, it must be boring just sleeping. He offers to read stories and change his diaper, tells Malleus his dad wants to meet him. Oh, and of course Lilia shares about his UM too! He tells Malleus that he went to the Land of Crimson Long.

Lilia ventures to Harveston!! An old man mistakes Lilia for a kid and takes him in, showing him warmth and kindness. He says he'll leave soon, but the old man and an old woman say he should stay until spring because the weather is harsh.

The lady notices Lilia is fae (but since time has passed, relations between fae and humans have improved a bit). No one is afraid of him here!! They apologize for mistaking him as a kid and want to share stories.

(Not confirmed but it could be interesting if these were Epel’s ancestors Lilia met… Rollo’s ancestors can be the ones running Lilia out of the City of Flowers www)

His feelings are changing... At 450 years old, Lilia tells Malleus that the world has changed so much and he has had the chance to visit many places. ahbyoaybadadB APPARENTLY PEOPLE USED TO THROW STONES AND ROCKS AT HIM.

Lilia says that fae may become things of the past, just creatures of fairy tales. But he doesn't want Malleus to be the main character of a fairy tale, forgotten by time. He wants Malleus to be able to see the world his parents weren’t able to see for themselves 😔

Another time skip, and it's come to a point where the egg is in critical condition. For 3 whole months it has been rejecting Maleficia's magic. The egg has since erected a lightning barrier to protect itself, even though its own heartbeat is growing weaker and weaker. (Malleus throwing another tantrum lol)

Lilia heard weird sounds but no one else could??? Is that a baby crying???? He tries to approach, but almost gets struck down many times.

Lilia realizes Malleus is crying because he's lonely. "Wait for me. I'm coming to you right now!" He gets hit by lightning, but perserves!

Lilia says he will offer his magic, even his lifespan (many fan theorists squealed now that this is confirmed), to Malleus if he needs it, and finally embraces the egg. (Physical contact like holding the egg is said to encourage magic absorption.)

TAMAGO-SAMA??????? 😭 HE SOUNDS LIKE A POKEMON… and he’s already blowing fire even though he’s freshly hatched???

WTF THOUGH BABY MALLEUS IS 1000000000000000000000x CUTER THAN GROWN UP MALLEUS 🫶 (I don’t like modern day Malleus’s looks at all www)

Silver understands why the dream is how it is, because it was all worth it for Lilia to finally meet Malleus. The moment of hatching has to be the happiest moment in Lilia’s life.

The senate shows up and starts praising Lilia as a hero.

OH????? Lilia seems to be waking????

HMMMM? this implies there’s limited suspension of disbelief each dreamer has 🤔 and if pushes past that threshold, then the dreamer is in a confused half awake state. Idia had these little moments of questioning his dream’s reality as well.

The senate’s voices distort, and they start shouting at Lilia for touching the prince, how it will be a scandal if a bat (… is Lilia a bat fae???) “dirties” the Draconias, etc. Mmmm, maybe this is the real reaction and the praising was part of the dream?? Since Lilia seemed to react strangely to being extolled. (I’m still over here wondering why their opinions hold so much weight compared to the queen; surely she would invite her friend Lilia back?? And doesn’t seem to blame him for the death of her daughter?)

Levan has a voice similar to Malleus, but lacks horns.

Okay 😭 Lilia did in fact use his own life span so Malleus could hatch, and then Lilia had Maleficia swear to secrecy because he was concerned Malleus would blame himself. But it also feels like the senate purged or edited the records to hide the fact that Malleus hatched with Lilia’s love??

Malleus tries to convince Lilia to go back to sleep, to not feel pain. He says he can give Lilia a dream where the Draconias are still alive, a dream where Lilia can live peacefully, just take Malleus’s hand—

SILVER COMING IN CLUTCH, he and Sebek vow to break Malleus’s “blessing”. It’s this word that allows Lilia to fully awaken!!! ⏰ He’s so proud of Silver and Sebek…

They fight (well, Lilia distracts Malleus), then Silver uses his UM to hop into another dream.

They run into Ortho?! And then everyone is dropped off in front of Ignihyde.

FINALLY, SHROUD BROTHERS RETURN RIGHT AT THE VERY END!! I was wondering what they were doing while all this shit went down in Lilia's dream... It sounds like the next book 7 update will start off with Idia and Ortho, most likely told via flashback. I assume Ortho was able to help Idia wake up somehow?

This update felt like we got a lot of new lore!! But many of the events that played out were things we already had an inkling about prior to all of this (Meleanor dying, Lilia going on his travels eventually, Lilia helping Malleus hatch, etc.). It's nice to get the confirmation and to have the gaps of time inbetween filled in.

I really appreciate the story showing us just how hard Lilia's life was and then showing us just how important a nugget of happiness after all of that was so worth it for that moment. His VA did a stellar job with the voice acting this update, particularly the sobbing once Malleus hatched. I loved seeing Lilia's travels and how they gradually affected his own mindset over time... how he learned many different things from the people he encountered, and how he passed on that knowledge onto Malleus.

I liked seeing the origins of Lilia’s UM (he’s on a journey to find an answer)! Hearing about Sebek’s was also interesting; seeing as he’s a late bloomer with his magic and how he’s always competing with Silver, his UM manifested when Silver had been admitted to NRC and Sebek was training alone. I wonder if the UM also (in part) rose out of a feeling of inadequacy or feeling like he has to “catch up” to where Silver, Malleus, and Lilia are. No matter how hard it may be, he wants to push past his limits and serve as a knight. Maybe that, too, is why his UM prioritizes power and speed at his own body’s expense. It’s great seeing Sebek open up a little more and insist on fighting alongside fae; in modern day, Sebek has had to fight alongside humans. This is bridging the two sides of himself and helping him to reconcile with his own prejudices 😭

THE WHOLE DRAMA WITH THE SENATE MAKES ME UNDERSTAND WHY LILIA DROPPED THAT LINE ABOUT HISTORY BEING ALTERED OR REWRITTEN. It all makes so much sense now... Lilia himself (at least him hatching Malleus) was written out of history even though he did so much to help his country. He was so disliked, shunned, and shown animosity from the powers that be, and now he doesn't wish for that to happen to others, especially not to Malleus, the one good thing in his life and all that remained of the friends he lost along the way. You really see his teachings coming through in Silver and Sebek when they face off against OB Malleus towards the end. And the way I screeched when Lilia finally woke up after that...

The more I see OB Malleus, the more I get this skin-crawling feeling around him. I know the other OB boys have done arguably worse things (attempted murder, for example) but there's something so awful and insidious about the way Malleus speaks. He's intentionally gaslighting and manipulating others to just give in to his control, taking advantage of even Lilia at his lowest moments to dominate his thoughts. That's scary to think about... especially the dark inversion of Malleus urging Lilia to take his hand, when the game started off with a much more light-hearted and inviting "take my hand" offer.

Anyway!! I've been wondering for a long time what the Shrouds have been up to, and I'm so excited to see their story next update!!

Like her son, she is rather sleepy as she has only been awake/"alive" in her current state mere months before Yuu's arrival. Her appearance and name were lost to time in the 400 some years since her death and so outside of those who lived back then, her existence was erased (by her former husband). The last thing she told her chaperones (the three fairies) was to "Protect my dearest Caeso" (what she had named Silver)

Often butted heads with Baal

Stumbled into Lilia (literally) while hiding from the three fairies to pick flowers in the Briar Valley. Think the Princess Mononoke knife scene but with Leah saying "You're beautiful" since Lilia was the first fae she had ever saw (only ever heard of fae or read hateful lies)

Often sneaked out of her kingdom to help fae in the forest

Apologized to fae for her husband's and kingdom's doings (and used her UM to heal the wounds her people inflicted on fae)

Her current form was achieved by Etienne, though her faehood was brought about by draining all the blood from her restored body and replacing it with fae blood (aka Etienne's)

Etienne used Lilia's blood to awaken her (hid this "project" of his from Lilia for all this time). From this the first thing she did awake was cry as she saw Lilia's memories of raising Silver (something she never got to do).

She was happy to know that someone she trusted raised him but it was bittersweet as the sole light of her life at that time was her son and she did not get to raise him herself.

Is close to Silver but has never told him of their connection. In her eyes her son (aka Caeso) is gone, while for Silver he thought he was orphaned (with human Leah dying all those years ago)

A childless mother but will never reveal who she is to her son (Silver) so she keeps her maternal love for Silver hidden

✦ ✧Past and Future Reunion✦✧

Hello again. This is the second chapter of my idea collection so I will be warning you this is another twisted and crazy idea of mine so please brace yourself.

This second chapter is mainly Twisted Wonderland and the plot here starts at the main canon of Chapter 7 Diasomnia Arc where Yuu, Grim, Silver and Sebeka ended up at Lilia's dream of 400 years ago during the war between the fairies and humans. I have added my idea here so I'm pretty sure you would notice something and that it would be confusing but I will explain it again at the end notes.

Yuu, Grim, Silver and Sebek were sitting around the campfire outside the tents, watching as Baal and Lilia finish eating their cooked dinner for tonight. It was bizzare and shocking to see that this was what Lilia used to be like during his time hundreds of years ago way before everyone was born. He was completely different from his carefree and cheerful self in the present time for he looked serious and don't seem to have that humor of his. Not to mention, he's very cautious and wary against them for they were humans and the most shocking thing is that the timeline of the dream he is having is a war the Land of Briar Valley used to wage against in the past. They really weren't expecting to see Lilia being originally like this, especially in front of them.

"If this is how Lilia-sama used to be then I'm curious what kind of person Callia-sama is in this timeline..." Sebek muttered, careful not to let anyone strange hear his words.

Only Silver heard his words due to sitting beside the man and it caused him to ball his hands into fists that were gripping his pants on his lap. His heart beat nervously as he slowly nod his head in agreement with his friend. He is also curious of what kind of person was she in this past they're in.

"Lilia-sama, I can't help but worry." Baul, Sebek's grandfather, suddenly speaks up.

His words catch their attention, turning their heads to look him while Lilia remain unfaze, staring at the bonfire in front of him.

"About what, Baul? You can't be referring to the Silver Owls."

"Not them but rather I'm worried about Callia-sama." Baul added.

Silver and Sebek perk up at the mention of that name but Grim had to rudely interrupt conversation.

"Who is this Callia?" he asked, having no idea who that person is.

At his question, everybody fell silent and look at him in disbelief and surprise. Sensing how the atmosphere around them drop down because of the black cat, Sebek sigh in irritation and decided to give him and Yuu an explanation of that person as to save their face.

"You haven't paid attention in History Class, have you?" Sebek glare at them lightly before Silver unexpectedly decided to do the explanation for them much to his surprise.

"Callia Shadalva. She is the strongest fairy and the most powerful fae Knight in the history of the Land of Briar Valley." Silver started. "She is a fairy whose magic easily surpassed the top five wizards in the world and is known to have knowledge of magic that were lost and forgotten in time including ancient magic that even the most oldest fae have not heard of it. Callia Shadalva is also the most unrivalled being in the entirety of Twisted Wonderland because her powers are strong enough to even overwhelm the Draconia family whose magic was supposed to be powerful than anyone else and look like otherworldly since some of her magic do not seem to originate here. Not to mention, no one knows where she cames from nor any of her origins."

"You mean she's the world's greatest magician?!" Grim commented, shocked in the mind.

"Exactly! Callia Shadalva-sama was the most honored knight of Briar Valley and no one in this world can beat her in terms of magic, physical strength and knowledge! Her beauty is also unparalleled that so many men kept coming over to Briar Valley to ask for her hand in marriage but the Queen always rejects them because they're all unworthy to even hold a handle for her!" Sebek finishes it off with a proud smile, close to arrogant there.

Their words caught Baul and Lilia off-guard there, genuinely surprised of how those two knew Callia even though the latter tries to keep it minimum since she doesn't want to attract unnecessary attention on herself saying it's always troublesome for her to deal with people who are too curious for their own good. But then again, her existence would still spread over because that's how influential she is not only in Briar Valley but also outside the land causing many beings to be so curious and alerted of her. Lilia really wasn't expecting them to know Callia, let alone her achievements here in the land.

"You also heard about Callia-sama?" Baul asked, a bit of suspicious.

"Eh. We heard a lot about her from our teachers who once travelled to Briar Valley and heard stories about her. I hope most of it was true though." Silver replied, not wanting to give away the truth so easily.

Fortunately, Baul and Lilia believed his words for the latter gave a small smile.

"All of them true. Callia is indeed the strongest fairy of Briar Valley and in the whole Twisted Wonderland." Lilia takes a sip of his cup of water on the side. "For your information, Callia is also a close friend of Maleficia-sama and was chosen by Her Majesty to look after Meleanor-sama when she was a child whenever she was too busy to take care of her, showing how much she trusts her enough to entrust the care of the princess in her capable hands."

Sebek and Silver already knew that but pretended to be surprised at his words. The two men have heard that story from the fairy herself when they were young and curious, from Lilia and even from Malleus' mother herself whenever they had a chance to bump into her in the castle at the present time.

"Not even the humans could go step forward towards Callia-sama, let alone lay a single finger on her because she's untouchable and impossible to fight in any kind of combat. She also always carries a special weapon with her everywhere she goes during her missions saying it was a family heirloom of hers called the Spiritual Flower. It's thanks to that weapon of hers that Briar Valley hasn't suffered a lot of casualties but only down to the tiniest minimum she can control on both sides."

"Both sides?" Yuu raise a brow.

"Callia may fight for Briar Valley and for Meleanor-sama and Revan but she is someone who cherish life more than anyone else." Lilia close his eyes, remembering the fairy's words in his mind. "She once said she doesn't want to harm any creatures of any kind with her power because she doesn't want to be a heartless and cruel person to kill anyone with no reason at all. If she could, she also wants to protect even the humans because if there is goodness and kindness in their hearts for us fairies then there's no need to harm humans with good hearts because it would only cause further troubles for both races."

Silver also remembered his mother saying similar lines like that back then when he was young during the old days. She, too, also said she wished for Silver to learn how to protect those who he thinks have kindness and compassion for others even towards their enemies because it means they're not that much different from one another in the beginning and violence is not the answer most of the time because it will only hurt others more.

"But why does she want to be kind to her enemies?" Grim asked, confused.

"Because that's the kind of person Callia-sama is. She didn't want to harm the Silver Owls because they are humans and used her magic to push them away every single time to the point the Royal Guard almost have nothing to do to help her out because she's that strong by herself. She'd always prefer to settle things peacefully because she absolutely hates fighting in the battlefield, let alone a war that would leave her no choice but to kill. Callia-sama would rather like to keep the casualties on both sides on a minimum because she doesn't either side losing their comrades. If you ask me, the humans should be grateful that Callia-sama is very merciful of not killing their kin yet this is how they repay her? Ungrateful beings!" Baul growl, not liking how they weren't appreciating the fairy Knight's actions.

"Callia-sama is indeed too kind for her own good!" Sebek immediately agrees with his grandfather.

Lilia cross his arms, looking at them all.

"If I have to be honest, what Callia did all this time is better than what Meleanor-sama wanted to do." Lilia speaks up. "Callia was the one who secretly placed protective barriers around areas and places the Silver Owls could possibly try to target and set up traps everywhere to stop them from advancing further and push them back as not to get near as well as not harming them because according to her, if we kill them then it would only give them extra reasons to kill us more because we supposedly strike first."

"Like an eye for an eye, right?" Silver mused.

Lilia nod his head.

"Precisely. What Callia wants us to do is to prevent harming the humans and make them slowly believe we have no intentions of hurting them unless they want to talk it out with Meleanor-sama of the reasons why this war started in the first place. She thinks communication should be the first thing to try to understand one another of why the humans attempted to covet our mines and destroying the forests and listen to their reasons." he explained.

"Not to mention, she stated that resorting to violence is our last resort if reasoning and talking with them, let alone reaching for an agreement that satisfies both parties, is useless in the end. After all, she believes every being has a reason behind their actions and we only need to listen or else we'll be nothing but murderers to one another. Her words shocked the men on the Senate, stunned Meleanor-sama, and pleased Revan-sama and Maleficia-sama for that kind of wisdom she has." Baul said, a little proud of her.

Silver smiles, also feeling proud hearing that his mother hasn't changed at all and is still the same person he knows from his childhood. As far as he knows, he always feels like his mother has experienced every single thing that could possibly happen to anyone and spoke with great knowledge that no one has ever thought and has every solution for every impossible problem that seems too hard to solve. He sometimes sees how even Malleus and his father, Revan, would always go to her for advice about the diplomatic and political affairs of the land and her insights are sharper than anyone else, always seeing the bigger picture and understanding the perspective views of others. His mother just wanted the best for everyone including those who hated her because that's just how far her kindness spreads to others. But there is something that makes him very curious though.

"Pardon my rudeness but where is Callia-sama right now?" Silver ask.

Lilia sigh, rubbing the back of his neck. He seems to be pondering for a moment he replies back.

"Callia left the Wild Rose Castle three days ago to find Revan who didn't come back and said she'll make sure to bring him home no matter what because there has to be someone to handle Meleanor-sama's attitude if she's not there to scold her. In other words, she's searching for Revan and I have no idea where the two of them could be or maybe even met up." he answered.

That made them feel alarm. Even though Callia is the strongest and can handle by herself, finding the father of Malleus would still be dangerous and there's no telling if Silver Owls would ambush her on the way.

"I'm sure Callia-sama will return with Revan-sama in one piece. Besides, you and I have to agree that without her and Revan-sama, Meleanor-sama would definitely not stop venting out her anger on us once she finds out and would snipe at you as her first target, Udaishou-sama." Baul shivered.

Meleanor is a hot-tempered princess and that's a fact everyone in the Royal Guard and castle knows about including the Queen and the Senate. Whenever she gets angry, she would summon fire or thunder to let out some of her negative emotions or feelings even if it means hurting someone in the process that though they wanted to stop her, her magic would immediately shut their mouths up in one zap and they don't even have the courage to to say anything to calm her down. The only two people in the country who can stop her and actually make her listen properly are her husband, Revan and her caretaker, Callia. But she'd usually listen more to the latter than the former because Callia was always the one to take care of her when Maleficia can't due to her duties as the Queen, the one who kept playing with her and gently scolding her whenever she did something wrong, never raising her voice against her unless it's something really serious she wasn't supposed to do and almost sees her as a big sister figure.

To Meleanor, Callia was always guiding her on the right path to the best of her ability because she wants the best for her and wants her to choose a choice she won't regret later. Lilia saw that and knew the princess would prefer to be calmed down by Callia because she loves and trusts her enough above anyone else more than her own mother.

The most remarkable thing is that the Royal Guard are always safe whenever Callia was present in the Wild Rose Castle because she mostly makes sure their princess doesn't get into a fit or throw her magic around carelessly. Baul would rather want her to stay forever in the castle if it means Meleanor can be happy all the time without the temper she has.

"I can't deny that. It's a miracle I haven't been struck by thunder bolt or be burn by her flames if it weren't for Callia defending me most of the time including Revan. I could hope and pray that she will return soon or else Meleanor-sama may finally have her first strike at me for years." Lilia sigh, already exhausted just thinking about that possibility coming at him.

"That sure sounds tough..." Grim commented, sweating a little of his bizzare description of Malleus' mother.

The more Silver hear stories about his mother, the more how painful his longing is to see her again even if this was a dream of his father. Just one glimpse is enough, even if fleeting as a bygone memory.

Arriving at the Fortress of the humans only to be ambushed, Yuu, Silver and the group unexpectedly received an unknown messenger who immediately came to them in a fast pace and wanting to tell them something important with an object to give to them as well.

"I was sent here by Shadalva-sama and wanted me to pass on this mirror because it contains her messenge inside!" the messenger said, showing them a small mirror on his palm.

At the mention of Callia's last name, everyone lifted their heads with hope and excitement across their expressions.

"Callia-sama giving us this mirror means she must have good news, right, Udaishou?!" Baul said, glancing at the general.

Lilia raise his hand, ignoring the pain he felt from the trap earlier and wanting to focus on the mirror Callia sent to them now.

"Give the mirror to me." he ordered firmly.

The messenger gives it to him quickly. The moment the mirror touch his hand did it start to glow, revealing a familiar silhouette inside. Silver and Sebek can feel their hearts pounding nervously and excitedly at seeing the person the two boys have been waiting to see. This may be a dream but just seeing even a tiny glimpse of that person even if it is a dream is enough for them to be satisfied.

"Hi! It's me, Callia Shadalva. I hope the moment you found this mirror you aren't injured or harmed in anyway since I'm not there to protect you all due to my mission here."

The cheerful but gentle voice of Callia sent waves of calmness around the atmosphere, letting them relax for a moment. Even though this was a messenge and not with them physically, at least hearing her voice makes them feel oddly safe somehow despite what happened earlier.

Silver couldn't help but admire his mother in the mirror, his eyes almost close to forming small tears at the corners. She looked exactly the same as he remembered when he was young and that smile of hers was what he missed the most.

"As much as I want to chat longer, I will have to cut to the chase. I managed to found Revan-kun and according to him, the Silver Owls of the fortress are taking advantage of Lilia's absence on the Wild Rose Castle to approach Mel-chan and her baby egg with no one strong enough to defend her. Although I'm sure it must be too late once this mirror arrived to you there." Callia on the mirror explained with a smile on her face as if she was talking about the weather.

"Ironically, it already came true..." Grim grumbled.

"Me and Revan-kun decided to head back to Wild Rose Castle to defend Mel-chan and her dear baby egg although I'm confident the humans won't be able to approach the castle easily, let alone near the bridge because I already set up a magic circle that will automatically activate my signature barrier around the castle the moment it sensed incoming enemy movements from a distance so there's no need to force yourselves and take your time. I'll buy some time for you to come here and discuss our battle plan." she explained smoothly.

Her words surprised Silver, Sebek, Yuu and Grim while Baul could facepalm and Lilia shaking his head in amusement.

"She sounded as if she anticipated this would happen and plan some sort of backups in case it really happened!" Grim shrieked, cannot believe of how well-prepared this fairy lady was.

"It seems she kind of predicted this would happen and made a Plan B for it. She is really well-prepared for any events..." Yuu remarked, liking how she planned everything if the first one doesn't work out.

"If she and Revan-sama are heading back to the castle then we should also go there and meet up with them there! Callia-sama may be powerful but she can't do this alone without the support of the Royal Guard to follow her orders!" Baul suggested, wanting to help her by her side.

"I agree as well. But if she did set up a barrier around the castle then that's a less thing to worry since that barrier has a mind of its own of rejecting outsiders. For now, we should get out of here." Lilia groan, feeling the stinging pain he received from the trap earlier, using himself to shield Silver.

"I... I can't believe we would finally meet Callia-sama in her battle form...!" Sebek said in excitement but made sure to lower his voice down as not to attract attention.

"Me, too." Silver shares the excitement with him.

Both men were very excited and nervous to meet Callia in her fighting form. The two of them never got the chance to see the fairy wearing her signature battle outfit, let alone seeing her wielding her weapon to show it off them but this memory of Lilia would give them the opportunity to see her in full action. Especially Silver who can't wait to see his mother despite this being a dream from his father's memory.

What Callia said earlier in the mirror was true.

Not far from where they were standing at, they can clearly see the castle where Meleanor and her egg are residing inside. But aside from the castle in a distance, they see something shocking and in awe of the sight.

"Are those Royal Guards I'm seeing?!" Baul exclaim, his eyes widened in disbelief.

If Lilia remembered correctly, there shouldn't be that many Royal Guard left behind in the Wild Rose Castle since he and Baul took almost half of them or even more for self-defense against possible ambushes along the way and left behind the leftovers to take care of minor attacks, hoping the castle would suffer less damages until they found out the humans took advantage of their absence. But now, he is baffled and confused of how a ridiculous amount of Royal Guards are positioned outside on the bridge and surrounding the castle in some sort of a formation with their swords and shields ready along with archers stationed on the upper places of the castle, preparing their arrows to shoot at the humans who can't even take a step forward due to the barrier nullifying their magical attacks and breaking their weapons at the mere contact of it.

It almost look like a reinforcement group sent from Maleficia's castle for support. At that thought coming to his mind, Lilia realized that might be the case since Callia and Maleficia are very close enough for the latter to do a small favor for the fairy in the name of their friendship. Lilia smirk.

"Those are definitely Royal Guards, reinforcement from Maleficia-sama's castle to aid us in the battle." the general said, his words shocking everyone around him.

"Reinforcement from Maleficia-sama's castle?! But how did they managed to come here when Her Majesty's castle is far away from Her Highness' place-" Baul had a look of realization. "Callia-sama... she didn't dare to open a magical portal to let them all in from such a distance...?!"

"Baul, you and I both know Callia's motto. She can make the impossible happen no matter what it takes. I wouldn't be surprised she secretly contacted Her Majesty to send in reinforcement group in case Meleanor-sama's castle may not have enough guards to protect the place. Due to her monstrous amount of magical power, she can easily open a portal to cut the distance. In other words, she and Revan must be in the castle or else why would the barrier and the extra guards come out nowhere, full prepared to the core?" Lilia added.

This isn't the first time Callia has done this before. According to the older fae when Lilia was young, he heard stories of how that fairy did such an impossible thing to ensure the safety of the Queen and drive back the enemies away from Briar Valley to heal the wounded and properly annihilated the opponents into nothing but ashes with no bones left behind to bury in their graves with no mercy whatsoever. It seems she has finally stepped up her game.

"If Callia-sama and Revan-sama are there then how can we enter the castle with the barrier surrounding it?" Sebek asked curiously.

"Callia made sure the barrier would only let specific people enter so I'm sure we can enter but I think I would prefer to use teleportation for it's faster to go inside than having to be spotted by those Silver Owls below. As what to do with the princess, I would like to ask Callia and Revan to convince her to move her and her egg to Her Majesty's castle through her portal as to use the Wild Rose Castle as the main battlefield. With the Queen by her side, she and Revan would be safe under her care." Lilia said thoughtfully.

Maleficia loves her daughter and her son-in-law very much because their happiness is her happiness and wants nothing but the best for them, too. Not to mention, she is looking forward to meet her future grandchild and wouldn't want him to suffer a sad and lonely childhood in a a middle of a war. With a bit of persuasion from Callia, she would absolutely be reassured to have all three of them to reside on her castle under her protection and have Baul, Lilia and Callia do the fighting in the battle to ensure their victory.

"That's true. With Callia-sama's magic, having the princess, prince consort and the egg under the Queen is safer than here." Baul nod his head in agreement.

"We should go now. We can't keep them waiting." Lilia declares.

As for the Silver Owls, no matter what they do, the barrier surrounding the Wild Rose Castle is really impossible to break that most of their weapons are destroyed by a single contact of it and the human knights even started to back away in fear when some electric shock waves came from the barrier itself as if it has a mind of its own and counter attack them, knocking some of their members out.

Henrik was fuming with anger and frustration.

"Damn it! The Wild Rose Castle was supposed to be defenseless! How come they suddenly have reinforcements out of nowhere!" Henrik raise his voice loudly in irritation. "Not to mention, this barrier is not normal and kept releasing something to knock out our comrades!"

"Could it be Callia Shadalva, Briar Valley's strongest fairy knight in the land?" one of the knights whispered quietly to the other.

"Rumors has it that she knows a lot of ridiculously powerful spells..."

"I heard she burned her enemies alive to the point she would not even spare a bone to bury on their graves..."

Henrik grit his teeth, his brown eyes glaring angrily at the castle. He heard that fairy left the castle to search for the princess' husband so she wouldn't possibly be here somehow, would she? But then again, she's known to do the most impossible things that not even the Queen of the Draconia family can do.

"I swear after we capture this castle, I'm going to make Callia Shadalva kneel before me and force her to follow my orders!" Henrik exclaim. "With that power and sword of hers, I would make her a fairy that would be solely used as nothing but a weapon by humanity's will and kill her own kind for humans' sakes!"

The Knight of the Dawn that was beside the fat man listened, silently to his brother-in-law's words. His expression was covered by his white helmet so no one can see what he look like but his hands are slowly balling to fists the more he heard those words coming out from the man's mouth, feeling several emotions swirling on his chest.

"But it would be a shame to hurt that pretty face of hers in the process. Maybe I can try to have some fun with her before sending her out to fight in the battlefield. I'm sure father wouldn't mind that. Her beauty is very unparalleled..." Henrik is chuckling evilly with a dark glint in his eye. "I wonder if she can handle to fight on a bed..."

Having enough of that last statement, the Knight of Dawn immediately raise his voice.

"Henrik-sama, please do not say such things." the Knight says. "Callia Shadalva, in my opinion, hasn't done anything to harm any of the humans these past few weeks during when the war started, let alone killing off our comrades but rather kept sending them back to us as if she doesn't want to actually hurt us because she knows it would give us more reasons to kill them."

His words made some of the knights perk up.

"That's because she's afraid we would kill her kin and wants us to forgive the fae by trying to show some fake kindness. How can we do that when the creatures of this land doesn't bother to lend a helping hand to us?" Henrik sneered.

"She is an honorable fairy and seems to understand the perspective views of humans and fae alike so I'm sure she would provide a solution to satisfy both parties. Not to mention, she's well known to absolutely detest wars because she hates killing other beings for trivial and unimportant reasons that doesn't make sense to her." the Knight continues.

Callia Shadalva once stated she doesn't want to kill her opponents because if she can see a hint of light in their hearts, a hint of goodness within even of it is little then they shouldn't be killed but rather deserve a chance to redeem themselves and make up for their sins instead because the reason why they ended like this is in the first place because they had no one to properly guide them from the start, teaching them what was right and what was wrong. In other words, they became evil because they had no one to rely on and creatures from all races are like that including fae. When the Knight of Dawn heard that before, he was in awe and admired the fairy for those words are true.

Some humans became evil because they are either consumed by greed, selfishness or any negative feelings and emotions. But that doesn't change the fact that the reason why they became like that is because they must have been lonely and scared, not knowing how to live, let alone survive in a harsh world. The Knight of Dawn thinks those words are very true because he would have been a different person if he was adopted by an unkind person rather than the King because humans can be easily influenced by others. But there's a reason why he came here in Briar Valley in the first place. He wants to find a certain fae he briefly met on his childhood years ago. A fae with a beautiful pair of pinkish blue eyes and strands of soft brown hair.

"Don't you dare talk back to me, Dawn." Henrik glared, calling him by his real name. "Don't force me to send you back to the kingdom since you said the main reason why you volunteered to come as a main force here was to search for a specific someone in Briar Valley who you met when you were young. It would be a shame if you go back now only to hear that someone of yours was accidentally killed during the war."

Dawn doesn't want that. He doesn't want to leave without reuniting with that fae he and his wife, Leia, met years ago during their childhood. He would be sad if she got killed during the war or else his coming here would be in vain. He wants to see that cheerful and kind fae who acted like a mother to him whenever he secretly left the palace to meet with her, embracing him on her arms and humming a lullaby to make him sleep properly. Dawn doesn't know his biological mother who threw him into the orphanage and the mother of his wife may have been nice to him but that fae in the forest gave and showed him what true motherly love in the most beautiful and meaningful way that he painfully wished he was adopted by her instead of the King.

I want to see her again. I haven't seen her for over 20 years and the only clue I got was that she was a fae from Briar Valley. Dawn clench his hands into fists on his armored gloves. I want to see that fae. I want to see her smile and feel her warm embrace again. The one I would only acknowledge in this lifetime as my...

His mother.

That fae was the only person he would acknowledge as his only parent figure, not caring about his biological or adoptive parents of the royal family but his sole parent in this world for the rest of his life because the moment she appeared, his view changed.

Henrik, in the meantime, is already thinking of ways how to steal not only the Princess Glow that was held by Meleanor but the Spiritual Flower that was in possession of Callia Shadalva, said to have the powers of life and death in her beck and call.

Arriving safely inside the Wild Rose Castle, Lilia and the others sighed in relief that the teleportation magic worked. Now they were in the hallways of the castle, green fire lighting their way through.

"Now, to find-"

He didn't finish his sentence but froze a little when he heard a gentle and lovely voice singing, coming from a certain direction and echoing throughout the hallways.

"This song...!" Silver widen his eyes in surprise.

Sun goes down and we are here together,

Fireflies glow like a thousand charms

"Hmm? I can hear someone singing." Grim pointed out.

"The person singing sounds very nice." Yuu commented with a relaxed smile, oddly feeling safe somehow upon hearing the song.

Stay with me and you can dream forever,

"There's no doubt about it. This is a lullaby Okaa-sama used to sing for me and that voice..." Silver trails off, his heart beating fast nervous at the sudden realization of who could it be behind the doors.

"Callia... Did that princess asked her to sing a lullaby at a situation like this?" Lilia sigh in exasperation but a hint of fondness flash over for a moment. "Whatever. We should head inside now and check what's in there. Please be safe."

★•° In The Throne Room °•★

The moment the doors are suddenly opened startled Revan and the Royal Guards who were stationed inside while Callia stopped singing, turning her head only to smile brightly upon seeing Lilia, Baul and their newest companions that joined them on their trip here although it did caused Meleanor to wake up from her small nap with her baby egg and glared angrily at the sudden guests that interrupted her caretaker's singing.

"Lilia, Baul!" Revan is the first to approach them with a relieved smile.

"Revan-sama! Thank goodness you were alright!" Baul greeted him politely with a bow.

"Revan, you made us worried since you haven't came back yet as a messenger. Who knew you would end up being ambushed by the Silver Owls in the fortress the moment you arrived there. Don't make us worry like that again." Lilia scolded lightly but was also relieved both him and Callia are alright.

"Sorry for making you worry. Fortunately, Callia-neesan found me on a nick of time and took me away to heal my wounds and told me the situation before suggesting we should return since the castle is pretty defenseless without any strong individual to guard." Revan glance at the two ladies that were making their way over to them.

Silver and Sebek felt their breaths stop for a moment upon seeing the familiar woman they were wishing to see again whether an illusion or a dream of the past from their master. Long strands of purple hair flowing down behind her wake and a pair of pink-blue eyes is seen with a smile on her face that has a bit of cheerfulness in it. She hasn't changed at all even during the old days as her knightly days. In fact, she still remains fresh and pretty the moment they saw her with their eyes like an unchanging flower that doesn't wither in time. Silver feel himself wanting to tear up and cry while running towards her arms for an embrace he dearly missed because his mother was here, even though this was a dream of the past.

Before Callia can even speak with her mouth open, Meleanor angrily beat her to it with an irritating mood.

"You're late, Lilia!"

As she said that, flash of thunderbolts came out of nowhere to aim at the said fae. It crash on the floor of the castle and it was almost precisely aiming at Lilia but fortunately, his fast reflexes made him dodge on time with shocked eyes.

"That was dangerous!" Lilia exclaim, a little afraid now.

"What happened?!" Grim asked, terrified right now.

Silver and Sebek are already used to Meleanor's tantrums back in the reality at present time when they were young so they pretty much predicted more or less she would react towards something like this but they still can't get used to her constant use of magic of attacking others to vent out her anger and hatred so they couldn't help but flinch at her magic that was obviously supposed to be for their master.

"Here we go again..." Revan sighed, already feeling exhausted a little.

"Where were you wasting your time when me and my egg were in danger!?" she asked, raising her voice loudly at him in anger.

"Stupid!"

A flash of thunder came. The Royal Guards are about to move away but a shield appeared out of thin air to protect them from the sudden lightning much to their relief and Yuu turn his head to see Callia secretly providing barriers to anyone in the vicinity in case they were attacked by the princess.

"Foolish!"

"How dare you all left Callia alone by herself with no one to support and protect her! You should've at least send somebody to accompany her!" Meleanor added, fuming with rage. "She already has enough of her plate to guard me and my egg and at the same time commanding the Royal Guard to come at the castle! That's too much for her to take!"

Before she can even continue, a soft and gentle voice broke through the air.

"Mel-chan, didn't I tell you not to use your magic on others to vent out your anger? That isn't healthy at all." Callia smoothly intervene with her arms crossed.

Meleanor still has her staff raise to prepare her next magic but the words of the fairy made her momentarily stop and listen, much to the surprise of others and those who are used to this including Silver and Sebek. The princess furrowed her brows.

"But Callia, isn't it Lilia's fault for not coming here quickly and making your job easier so you could focus the other major affairs you were supposed to do? But instead you had to protect me, Revan and our egg while securing the safety of the castle at the same time. Don't you think it's too much?" Meleanor asked, her voice no longer anger but with frustration.

Everyone including Lilia knew what the princess meant. Callia is usually the one tasked to do all of the most important missions that are personally given to her by the Queen and the Senate so she isn't often ordered to guard the princess and her prince consort unless for diplomatic and international affairs to scare off the countries to let them think they have a chance against them. She is already busy preparing the army to fight off the humans if as a last resort if they aren't willing to talk their way for peace, reporting the situations to the Queen and the Senate about what was happening to the other regions of Land of Briar and many other tasks that needs her attention but now she can't focus on all of those because the Royal Guard with Meleanor are spread thin for defense.

Lilia and Revan knew Meleanor is not only angry but also upset she may have become a burden to Callia to take her away from her duties all to protect her and her egg for the sake of their lineage. Unexpectedly, Callia smile gently at the princess.

"Thank you for always worrying about my well-being, Mel-chan. But really, I'm not doing this because your mother ordered me to but I do this because I wanted to. Besides, you'd feel safer with me here, don't you think?" Callia said, her words comforting and an attempt to soothe the anger of the princess.

As you have read, I am trying to make an OC of mine to insert into the Diasomnia Chapter for a canon divergence but I'm sure you are pretty familiar of Callia Shadalva, one of my OCs I have introduced from my first fanfiction, Crazy Wonderland. Callia is an OC I have made to pair her up with Lilia as his significant other so I was thinking of letting her have special relationships with Maleficia, Meleanor and Revan who was someone important to them and Lila who he sees as the love of his life. As for Silver, I was thinking that he sees Callia, his adoptive mother, the most important person to him in his life because she is someone who acts as a sister, daughter, friend, mother or any roles to her friends depending on their attitudes.

As for her origins, I have something in mind but I still need some details to straighten it out first.

I'm gonna cry because there's so much part 4 introduced to the story and we have TOO MUCH going on already. We have the exploration of familial love with Malleus, Lilia and Silver, Lilia quitting NRC and losing his magic, Silver's feelings on the matter of his father and also his mysterious origins and how that might be the key to defeat Malleus, we have Malleus' plethora of trauma, putting everyone to sleep an DEPRIVING MC THE CHANCE TO GO HOME AFTER THEY EXCITEDLY TOLD HIM THEY MIGHT FINALLY GO BACK!!!!!!, Lilia's past and introduction of Baal aka Sebek's grandfather, Sebek having to face discrimination from his own grandpa leading to eventual self-reflection on the prejudice/disdain he has for himself and for humans, war against human and fae, Mallenoa dying, Levan disappearing and Malleus staying unborn in an egg for years, the silly little quirky possibility Crowley might be Levan...................... And we barely just started.

Anyways.

Do you think Crowley is (or was, before going snore mimimimimi bc of malleus) even searching a way home for Yuu?

He's always embarrassed, evading the question whenever they bring it up. We mostly assume it's because of his overall personality or the way he treats his responsibilities as headmaster and the students, but isn't there something deeper to that? Does he actually not want Yuu to go home for some reason, so the "i'm an incompetent lil bird uwu" thing he has going on is the perfect excuse to cover it up?

Chapter 7 has me wondering about that a lot, more so after the Crowley is Levan/Revan theories. I forgot how sus he actually is. Also wondering if Yuu is going to be relevant towards the end of this chapter, it seems they'll be. It brings us back to the very first questions that arose when the game first came out: Why did Yuu come to Twisted Wonderland? Why NRC? Why were they together with Grim?

It's old news, people have made plenty of theories around MC, Grim and Crowley but it feels particularly relevant to me now. With so many plot lines in one episode I wonder if they're going to give Crowley or MC some sort of spotlight to explore their own respective stories, or at least touch on it. Obviously MC is gonna stick around for a while because we'll have more episodes in the future. In Crowley's case, though, him being the twisted version of Maleficent's crow, Diaval, it makes a lot of sense for him to get some exposure in this chapter.

Interesting… Their seemingly boundless energy is quite interesting, I must say. She occasionally mentions “Inkwell’s Blood” when bringing up its exorcisms, which admittedly intrigues me somewhat. Drop has somehow managed to dance their way right into my heart, which I must applaud.

She is very kind to me, but their energy often frightens me a bit… it’s similar to Klee’s, but unbridled by childhood or the expectations of anyone close to it. Drop’s dance’s are beautiful, and I quite enjoy when rain shows it to me! Despite the slight frights that it gives me at times, I do enjoy their presence quite a lot…

Shokuma has a silver necklace with blue jewels adorning it to signify that he belongs to Yumi.

Yumi’s childhood life was a peaceful one, surrounded by family and various beasts from around Teyvat. She was an energetic child, and still is now (just, Yknow, older). They tended to explore the places they could and often went along on Valen’s safer expeditions. One day during an expedition in Liyue with Yusa and Valen, they came upon Primo Geovishap, which lead to a fight that took their father’s life and awarded the twins with their visions.

Its father’s side of the family has been cursed for millennia, being fated to turn into a harmful lingering spirit in the afterlife. Her stepmother’s side of the family was blessed by an ancient god with the ability to see spirits, which has lead to many in their family becoming exorcists. Yumi is very close to her family members, and will do many dangerous things for them, no matter what could happen to dance.

book 7 part 5 thoughts!!

Starting off strong with some lore on magic! Teleportation magic involves breaking oneself down and reconstructing elsewhere. If the distance from point A to point B is too large and/or the caster is in poor health, the magic may fail or be difficult to perform.

Hmmm... Lilia is reacting very emotionally to the situation, but it is Baul that is (mostly) rational and reminding Lilia to keep calm. I'd anticipate it being the other way around, so that's quite interesting.

HUH... Even Sebek is staying calmer here than Lilia is; Sebek recalls training with Lilia and how they were taught that they have to stay calm to think and plan effectively in tough situations. Ironic that the old Lilia was the type to go against the advice he would later give and instill in his pupils. Again, it goes to show how much he has changed since then.

AH, BAUL'S BEING A TSUNDERE AGAIN 🤡 He's telling the kids to stay behind because the situation has changed... "Don't foolishly discard the life Lilia-sama protected", "humans shouldn't be fighting alongside fae anyway", etc. (And, of course, Silver's the one to step up and tell him fae or human, it doesn't matter and he still owes Lilia his life all the time.) NOW'S NOT THE TIME TO TALK, GUYS... MALLEMOM'S GONNA BE GAME ENDED

Weird sounds downstairs? SILBEK KICK DOWN THE DOOR and we find some chefs in hiding. adhbasvfvuvfqeilfe;o THEY MISTAKE SILVER FOR THE DAWN KNIGHT... More sussy behavior implying the Dawn Knight must be his ancestor.

They ask for brooms to transport the injured faster. Silver's negotiation skills come in clutch again, he convinces the chefs to direct them to the brooms even though it would be helping the fae, the humans' enemies.

Not Sebek's stomach growling now of all times... NOT SEBEK DENYING IT SO MUCH (it's okay, they get pity and some food from the chefs!)

Found a room full of birds; they seem to be for transporting messages. Silver feeds them some of the bread they got from the chefs. Wow, Sebek's actually being sneaky/clever (?). He tells Silver he's loved by animals, so time to use that now so they can use the birds.

Bleh, we have another time-gated, character-limited map segment. Silver and Sebek take up 2 of the 5 slots. Again, the cards' health does not regenerate unless you land on a special square. Luckily for us, there is only a single path forward rather than a larger, sprawling map.

NO KIDDING, THE BIRDS HELP THEM FIGHT THE SILVER OWLS... Literally they're swooping in and tugging on the knights' cape and stuff... the squirrels nibbled away at their catapults' rope too... chucking rocks at them... THE BIRDS POOPED ON THEIR ARMOR TOO???????? Imagine training your whole life to put your life on the line for your home country, only to be literally shat on and defeated by woodland creatures...

Lilia: I hate children. Also Lilia: *rushes into battle to protect the children and gives them head pats for a job well done and asks them to be safe*

Silver continues to be a Disney princess!! They find some horses tied up and he's like "let's free them". Sebek drops some club lore; Silver is one of the better students in Equestrian Club when it comes to soothing the horses. True Horse Girl at heart, huh??

Silver and Sebek are surprised that what they learned in school is actually helping the in a "real world" sense. Man, I wish that was true of irl high school education too...

The Silver Owls recruited mercenaries from other countries to help them seize Briar Country's resources??? The others pitch in because they live in fear of a dragon attacking them.

They're going to teleport into the castle, but they can't teleport out since they can't guarantee the safety of Tamago-sama... They're going to use the underground waterways to escape!

There's a mountain range that protects another castle of the royal family, Black Scale Castle. Malleus's mom is currently in an unprotected castle, Wild Rose.

Wow, what a peaceful vista straight out of Sleeping Beauty. I sure hope it doesn't become tainted by blood being spilt and bodies dropping or anything craaazy like that/j

DAWN KNIGHT INCOMING???? Silver's ring starts??? Going off??? When he sees the Dawn Knight...

Heinrich reveal too! He seems like just as much of a scumbag as all the rumors say he is (he wants a dragon to ride, tells the Dawn Knight he's only good for his swordsmenship, etc). BRO JUST STRAIGHT UP SAYS HE WANTS TO TAKE MALLEMOM'S EGG AND RAISE IT TO BE HIS STEED... 💀 WTF THAT'S SO DARK

This asshole reminds me of Jack Horner from Puss in Boots 2: The Last Wish, who is another irredeemably evil man with a small face and a generally grotesque design.

Heinrich is after the castle and some very powerful magestone called "Princess's Glow"? Not sure, did not hear the second word well.

He's giving them 30 minutes to send the princess out for a one-on-one duel with the Dawn Knight. If she wins, they'll retreat (I DON'T BELIEVE THAT FOR ONE SECOND).

NOT THE CASUAL FAE RACISM... Heinrich calls Mallemom a "witch". If you'll remember!! In book 6, Lilia says that mages were once called witches, but implied that those terms are now outdated and considered derogatory.

The Dawn Knight is like Silver! He tries to tell Heinrich this isn't right, but Heinrich tells him that since his father took the Dawn Knight in as an orphan, the Dawn knight "owes" them. It's a twisted parallel to Silver and Lilia's relationship (because Silver says he feels like he "owes" Lilia and has to repay him).

Okay, so to review the family tree??? The king of the human faction is sick and they want the Princess's Glow to heal him. The king is the dad of Heinrich and Leah; the king would also later take in the Dawn Knight. Leah and the Dawn Knight are in love.

Malleus's mom's official name is "Meleanor" (a location name is written in English with this)i. The castle's halls really resemble those in Diasomnia dorm (I think it's a reused asset). (Now that I think about it??? Didn't they also reuse the VDC backstage background for the eastern fortress?)

SHE'S SINGING???????? A lullaby for her baby, it seems. Bruh... Malleus sang like a line from this lullaby before he game-ended everyone with his UM... HE REMEMBERED HER SONG FROM INSIDE THE EGG SHELL??????????

MALLEMOM REVEAL AW YEAH (she starts zapping Lilia with lightning lol; she's mad at Lilia for showing up late to defend her and her egg) SHE'S THE HOT GOTH GF

She agrees to duel the Dawn Knight while the others escape with her child... Now Mallemom and Lilia are fighting because Lilia refuses to follow through with her order.

sdhbfbiyoaifofi Mallemom says that Lilia "also loves Raverne" and that those two spent more time together than a "married couple". You could interpret this as Lilia being bisexual or just as them being really good friends, as Meleanor never specifies if Lilia “loves” Raverne romantically.

Suddenly, Lilia's special card name makes sense! Lilia is the "Right General", and Raverne is the "Left General".

The weather shifted according to Meleanor's anger. Like mother, like son... This woman also quotes Maleficent so much...

OOOOH we get to watch a battle between Mallemom (dragon form) vs the Dawn Knight. Mallemom uses all null/cosmic magic, just like Dorm Uniform Malleus. The Dawn Knight uses light type null/cosmic magic just like Silver does too!

Dawn Knight face reveal?! He's basically Silver copy-pasted but long blonde hair. Dude's really out here looking like a Sonic OC recolor/j

The Dawn Knight also has a crown-like ring on a chain. It's an item that was given to him by guardian fairies when he was young; there is no other like it.

YASASHII... The Dawn Knight notices our group has the egg and tells them to run. He doesn't want Heinrich to get his hands on it either... Crowley, takes notes 😭

UHHHHH SILVER'S CRYING AND SHOUTING... I think he realized that he's descended from the Dawn Knight, serving on the faction that's brought so much harm to his loved ones and home country. "Am I family to the enemy?!" His denseness is truly to his detriment here.

Uh-oh, Silver's being pulled into the "darkness" of the dream, thinking it would be better to just stay here than face reality... He's losing hope, DOING THE THING HE FORESHADOWED LAST UPDATE... 400 years after conflict, the peace treaty was signed between fae and humans. Wild Rose Castle is now left in ruins; the rumors say it is haunted. The diurnal fae casted a spell on Wild Rose to keep humans away.

HUH???? LILIA FOUND BABY SILVER IN THE ABANDONED WILD ROSE CASTLE?????

Uhhh so apparently after the war we saw, another conflict broke out for territory and the Silver Owls got their asses handed to them.

LILIA UNIQUE MAGIC REVEAL... HE CAN READ THE MEMORIES OF THINGS HE TOUCHES????? (Reminds me of "Dimensional Scream" from Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of TIme/Darkness/Sky!) "Far Cry Cradle" is the name! We also get the chant: "As if it were a day. Everywhere I go, it will be in a blink of an eye."

Silver was magically put to sleep for hundreds of years by some small (guardian) fairies?!?!?!?!?!?!? Because conflicts were still going on and his parents wished for him to live in a world free of war. When Silver meets someone who "loves" him, he will wake up from his magic-induced slumber. NOW THE BABY IS AWAKE AND CRYING

... Wait. Doesn't that mean. Silver is technically older than Malleus... since Malleus is only 178 years old and Silver's been sleeping for like 400 years????? OTL SILVER OLD MAN ERA??????

NOT (PAST) LILIA BEING TSUNDERE, he says he thinks the guardian fairies' magic is fading with time... he doesn't even consider that he'd ever love the baby...

Silver's hair was originally blonde; It became silver when he received a fairy's blessing (Lilia's). LILIA SAYS "May the Night bless you" and says that the day he found Silver is his new birthday. So the Dawn Knight has gold hair because it's blessed by a diurnal fae, but with silver hair like moonlight, Silver won't stand out in Briar Valley.

I CAN'T WITH LILIA, SILVER SAYS HE WAS NAMED THAT BECAUSE OF HIS HAIR COLOR IN A BIRTHDAY VIGNETTE... Yet here we see Lilia actually named him Silver as in silver moonlight to guide people in the darkness...

"Even if I have to give up my own life, I want to protect my child", that's a sentiment that both Lilia's princess and the Dawn Knight expressed. I think this kind of thinking probably helped Lilia put everything into perspective and better understand that humans and fae are actually very similar.

SILVER/LILIA HOME REVEAL, we're seeing some point later in time but before present day when Lilia is still raising baby Silver.

Lilia is singing the same lullaby as what Meleanor sang for Malleus in the egg!! Malleus pays them a visit and still doesn't really seem to understand humans (HE SAYS SILVER LIKE A MONKEY????) but also helps watch baby Silver... He even hums his mom's lullaby for Silver, but cannot seem to remember where he heard the song before.

It's so weird thinking about how fae take 30 YEARS TO LEARN HOW TO WALK... What do you do for those 30 years, just lie on your back????? OTL

LILIA READS SILVER BEDTIME STORIES

Oh, Lilia's understanding humans and fae a little better (around the time Silver starts to eat pureed foods). Both human and fae babies cry and sleep, etc. BHFABIYFVQIQEFL hE'S FEEDING SILVER RAT MEAT???????? Malleus has to have the castle prepare baby food for them...

WAHHHHH THAT ACRON BRACELET LILIA TREASURES IS SOMETHING KID!SILVER MADE FOR HIM... Squirrels helped him gather the acorns and woodpeckers helped him string the acorns together. The acorn amulet is meant to bring Lilia a long, healthy, and happy life (something Silver was told by forest fae). Even as a kid... Silver was hoping for Lilia's health... and now that I think about it, the acorn amulet is like a representation of Lilia's own deteriorating health over time... OTL

God, there are so many of the map portions... This time, Sebek is the required character!

The rest of the gang are transported to the darkness where Silver is wallowing?? Sebek sees some of his own memories which intertwin with Silver's (since Baul sometimes took bare of Silver or visited Lilia). It's also confirmed that Lilia went to Sebek's dad to ask for advice on how to raise Silver.

Back then, Baul asked Lilia to train Sebek since he's part human (and therefore "weak" in Baul's eyes). However, Baul still values his grandson and wants him to have a good education 🥺 (Sebek's older brother also graduated from NRC??)

Lilia tore up his invitation to NRC???? But it was his friend Raverne who came to him with the invitation pieced back together and kept it safe for the future in case Lilia reconsidered. It seems like Raverne really is a diplomat; he stresses the importance of humans coming to understand fae + vice versa, and how it's things like learning a common language that can help bridge these gaps.

Lilia confirms that Raverne must have "become a star" by now BUT UNTIL I SEE A CORPSE I'M NOT BELIEVING IT

Sebek's trying to get through to Silver, who's slowly being swallowed by the darkness... HE UNVEILS HIS UM, "Living Bolt"!! "Thrust through the clouds, o' lightning!" It seems to summon a powerful strike of lightning, but I'm not entirely sure what it does because the visuals of the game are a little confusing??? (Like it shows a white silhouette of Sebek moving around, so it makes me think he can... control the lightning??? Or he... becomes lightning itself to move around??? DON'T QUOTE ME ON THAT.) Sebek says he hasn't mastered it yet so maybe even he doesn't know what it can do.

With Sebek's UM, he's able to snap Silver out of it!

THE GIRLIES ARE FIGHTING... There's literally a battle between Silver and Sebek, which resolves with Sebek smacking some sense into Silver. Sebek calls him an idiot and tells him to stop saying he isn't loved, because it's rude of Silver to be this weak when Lilia raised him to be strong (ie "IT'S AN INSULT TO LILIA-SAMA", "IF HE SAW YOU BEING THIS PATHETIC HE'D BE SAD", etc). Way to go with your words of encouragement... 100/10 motivational speaker, Sebek.

Silver realizes that he has had Lilia's love and support all this time... "It's true love", Silver says. The true love that his guardian fairies said would wake him from his sleep... 😭I really appreciate how it was Silver who first snapped Sebek out of his dream-induced despair, and now Sebek is doing the same for Silver.

WAIT THAT'S IT?????? THAT'S THE UPDATE???? ?? ??? ? ????????? 🤡 TWST really said, "I'm coming for everyone's throat and I'm taking no prisoners" AND THEN DIPPED ON US AFTER DROPPING SO MANY BOMBSHELLS... This is just the fate of every book 7 main story update now, isn't it???!??????!?

asidoavyfqevofb I know a ton of really exciting and shocking reveals happened this time around, but while my mind is still racing to process everything... the one thing that sticks out to me is "Ace is the only one without a UM now". IT'S SO FUNNY HOW HE THOUGHT HE'D GET HIS UM BEFORE DEUCE BUT HE ACTUALLY ENDS UP BEING THE LAST OF THE ENTIRE MAIN CAST TO GET IT................. .. . . . .. ....... .. .. . .. ... . . . .. THERE IS SOME CRUEL, SICK IRONY HERE.

I pretty much said all my other thoughts as they cropped up along with the corresponding story beats!! But overall, I loved learning more about the characters and their shared history. Part 5 confirmed many theories, such as the Dawn Knight being related to Silver (and not his ancestor, but rather his actual dad), Silver being put under a sleeping curse that requires true love to break, how Lilia came to raise Silver, etc. It also recontexualizes lore we already knew, such as how Silver got his name, the Zigvolt family's involvement with Lilia, and how Lilia changed from his old self to his current self.

I'm surprised that we didn't get to catch up with the Shroud brothers whatsoever this time??? Not a single peep about Ortho (who has 'woken up and is actively working to help everyone) or even Idia (who is still stuck dreaming)... I really hope the next update addresses how Ignihyde is faring, cuz I miss them and want to know how they contribute to saving the day!!

As book 7 progresses, it progressively calls the image of a spinning wheel into my mind... This is the case especially for the flashback segments we see, which shows us how the various members of Diasomnia are related to each other, and, by extension, their other family members. Lilia is raising Silver, the baby of an old foe. Malleus is visiting Lilia, who is implied to have helped hatch him after his parents died and/or went missing. Lilia asks Sebek's dad for help raising Silver. Baul asks Lilia to help mentor his grandson, Sebek. It really harkens back to the "individually, we're threads on a spinning wheel, but we come together to make something far stronger" line that Lilia dropped at the end of book 6, proving that the spinning wheel and the threads of Fate within it are an important motif for book 7 🥺
