YESSS SOMEONE WANTS TO HEAR ME TALK ABOUT ONE OF MY OLD OBSESSIONS

(i'm just placing my thoughts on a keyboard, so hopefully everything makes sense)

also, i'm going off of a bunch of year-old notes in a random notebook, jumbled memories from the height of my obsession, and old stream vods, so i might miss some stuff.

also major spoiler warning for failboat's sun, moon, and ultra moon nuzlockes under the cut, but that's self-explanatory

so, let's talk about the fightinium z, a quite important part of the moon and ultra moon nuzlocke. it's one of the first z crystals that you get in the alola games. in the moon nuzlocke, failboat ends up giving it to cawm, the makuhita/hariyama, using it as a z-move that is dubbed the cawm cannon (i honestly forgot that's what it was called and had to dig through some old vods).

anyways, in episode 8, cawm ended up dying to the totem mimikyu. i forgot what fully happened. something something, fairy beats fighting, now cawm is dead, now huppal the araquanid is on the team. in the next episode, the nanu team wipe happened. the main team is dead. (note: he didn't make rules against team wipes. instead of game-resetting events, they are more time-consuming than anything, involving having to train up a brand new team and recover from 6 deaths)

btw, i don't really know where to put this in the infodump, because it has nothing to do with the fightinium z inheritance, but i was straight up crushed by row's death. i cried so hard. now, in my room, i have a sign on my desk that says, "let's go row!" on it, because that was his silly little catchphrase, along with a rowlet plush to honor his memory.

anyways, enough about talking about getting emotionally crushed by fictional birds and back to talking about the fightinium z inheritance. one of the new team members on the team is a pancham named dill, who later turns into a pangoro. he is given the fightinium z, and uses it to defeat nanu's horrible alolan persian (i have a vendetta against those things now), using the dubbed "dill destroyer". (i was rewatching the stream where he gets revenge, and oh my gosh the way he's like "THAT'S A PUNCH FROM EVERYONE THAT YOU'VE KILLED" makes it feel so climactic and impactful (because it is).

this episode is also the introduction of the new team: dill (pangoro), chiff (zygarde), jalloll (bruxish), viola (oricorio, mainly stays as baile style (fire-type), fir (pelipper), and rarupp.2 (trevenant) note: at the beginning of the run, failboat had a poliwag named rarupp, and since trevenant is a ghost type, it's kinda the revival of rarupp in a way, but not really a full revival, hence the .2 (i think it was an accident, but it makes sense, so let's just go with that)

the next episode takes a bit of a detour from the plot, instead deciding to shiny hunt for an igglybuff using sos chaining. eventually, failboat acquires the igglybuff, naming her jojo and telling the chat that she's going to be a "star". (note: this is back when everyone thought that the new pokemon game was going to be called pokemon stars) what he was trying to say was that jojo would be "starring" in the next pokemon nuzlocke. you probably know who jojo is. she's pretty much a channel mascot at this point. but if you don't, there she is. in the meantime, she is taken care of in the box by a fearow named farrew.

anyways, the rest of the run goes on with no deaths until the elite 4 + champion. fir dies to acerola's palossand, chiff dies to kukui's incineroar, and jalloll and viola die to kukui's braviary. in the end, dill and rarrup.2 are left to be the only surviving of the new team. there are also a couple of post-game episodes with even more new team members, but that's not important right now.

now, time for jojo's time to shine. this is the part where i talk about the ultra moon nuzlocke. you know how the ultra games are notorious for being difficult? well, failboat may have decided to take that a step further. every pokemon is linked to another pokemon. if that one dies, the other one goes into "rage mode", where they bust be brought out to continuously fight until either all enemy pokemon are defeated or the enraged pokemon dies. it's like a wedlocke but the pokemon aren't married. (btw jojo has a special clause where she won't be released if she dies because she's shiny

anyways, the beginning team starts well for around 6 episodes. here's the team (- indicates a bind): upi (brionne) - eepi (charjabug), puhb (magnemite) - keepo (wingull), nick (arbok) - bhumpalid (mr. mime) (honestly, i don't think i have time to even touch on the magnemite incidents. those are for another day.)

in episode 4, jojo and her stand (that's what failboat calls her because haha jojo reference), black friday, are introduced to the team. (they won't become a part of the team until later in the run though) the chat ends up forcing failboat to sing black friday because that was a meme going on in the chat around the time.

in episode 7, this team has to face the water trial. upi ends up sacrificing himself to hurt the totem araquanid, sending eepi into rage mode. she ends up defeating the araquanid, leading to failboat delivering the famous line "GET IN THERE, MY FLYING BATTERY OF DEATH!" (not famous, i just think it sounds cool and saw fanart for it once) now, this leaves an empty space in the team for jojo and black friday to join in.

in episode 12, cammul the mudsdale (team replacement after phub and keepo's deaths) (linked to booyah the tentacool/tentacruel) ends up inheriting the fightinium z. his move is dubbed "the camul crash". (by the way, camul's whole joke is that he's a realistic horse because when failboat was asking one of his mods for a picture of a mudbray, he forgot what they were called and just asked for a tentacool and a... horse.) (i have way more clips, just wanted to include that one here just because). episode 12 is called unexpected inheritance to show the fightinium z's inheritance or something.

in episode 18, booyah end up dying to nanu's krokorok, leaving camul dead too due to the rules of the bind. (i'm not sure where the rules apply for sending in jojo while camul was still alive, just go along with it.) jojo ends up using the fighinium z to defeat nanu's alolan persian, with her own move dubbed the "black friday rush", named after her stand. (take that alolan persian)

from there, jojo faces struggles, but never ends up dying. that is, until episode 34. in a double battle, jojo is exploded by a forretress, and black friday dies in rage mode. that is, until the game crashes to before he saved. failboat decides to play out the battle again, killing them again as to not cheat the run. this leaves black friday dead and jojo left stuck in the box with no stand. (remember the clause!)

luckily, this is not the end of jojo. in episode 35, failboat gets the chance to catch lunala. he uses this as the chance to give jojo a new stand. maybe new stand isn't the right way to put it. it's more like a revival.

a requiem.

the lunala once known as nebby is brought to the team as white delilah, the revived version of black friday. to explain the name, black friday was named after the chat constantly wanting failboat to sing friday. this time around, a new meme revolving around a song had took place in the chat, that being hey there delilah. and who made hey there delilah? plain white ts. and, to add onto that, what creature attacked nebby at the beginning of the run.

(note: this episode is named after king of kings, a jojo episode. once again i haven't watched jojo, i'm just going off of the comments. but that's still cool.)

in episode 36, the finale of the series, white delilah ends up dying to olivia's gigalith, which means that jojo also ended up "dying". (remember the clause, again). after that, no other team members end up dying. white delilah is officially released, making her fully dead. he puts his team in the box, except for jojo. he flies to the trainers school, a place that took the lives of the first 3 pokemon in pokemon sun. he looks off at the stone in front of the school, reading: "everyone starts at the beginning!"

and that's all i have to say. it was kinda fun looking back at a bunch of old stream vods to find info about the fightinium z inheritance. if you read through all of this, thank you. if you didn't, thank you. i just wanted to infodump about an old obsession of mine. i've been thinking about watching the rest of the black 2 nuzlocke, since i only watched a few episodes, but part of me also wants to watch through failtopia because so many people here like it. i honestly sm just glad someone wanted to hear about this. i have plenty more i could say, but i feel as though i've said enough for now. i have so many thoughts, clips, screenshots and old art, but i'm happy with what i've said for now.

for reading (or not reading) through all of this, here's a simplified chart of the jojo lore i made a year ago at the height of my obsession.

does anyone here actually care about failboat's pokemon nuzlockes? i wanna infodump on the history of the fightinium z inheritance and the impact of the spearow line on the plot of the ultra moon nuzlocke. if no one wants to, then i will scream into the void on my own.

So in to regards to the original 20 legions, how would you rank having a harem of space marines from that legion

It’s no contest that Salamanders are pretty high on the list, and it’s safe to say that the Iron Hands are at the bottom of the list, just to give an example

I was just curious to know your opinion on where you would ranks the other legions and where they would fall on a hypothetical list

Warnings: You have multiple space marine husbands i don't know what that qualifies as i just figured it would be a worthwhile warning

Dark Angels: How'd you even get a group of them together without killing eachother? Impressive.

Ultramarines: A good harem of space marines to have. Organized too, there may or may not be a spreadsheet of wife time that exists but they firmly deny it.

Alpha Legion: Sneaky harem, each of them likes to sneak into your room and try and have time with you alone, only to get busted by the others also doing the same thing.

Iron Warriors: Don't.

Luna Wolves/Sons of Horus: Not a bad choice, though if there's going to be a harem happening in his legion, it's probably going to be Horus, his wife, and his Mournival just being real here. He's not allowing shit like that to happen without his presence.

World Eaters: Don't. Don't put multiple of these guys in the same room it isn't going to end well. They're like bettas.

Word Bearers: They really go hard on the worshipping thing. You are their princess and it's cute at first, but they get very overbearing. At least they don't fight with eachother much.

Blood Angels: They are some of the best, the only major downside is all of them have an appetite, so there's probably not going to be many times where you aren't somewhat woozy.

Iron Hands: Terrible, but mostly because their aloof and stoic nature isn't as cute as Imperial fists.

Emperor's Children: They are all super dedicated and love showering you in gifts. Don't think too hard about where they came from.

Imperial Fists: You have the most emotionally constipated men ever. They are incredibly protective and you have never felt safer, but they also have the emotive potential of a piece of sheet metal.

Space Wolves: The most chaotic bunch of husbands ever. They are always fighting with eachother, mostly joking but it sometimes gets serious, and most of the time it isn't even about you. Are terrible at sharing, and someones lost a finger because of a brawl over wife rights.

Death Guard: Your stinky, stinky husbands are terrible. They really like bringing you flowers though.

Thousand Sons: They all argue with each other nonstop which is annoying, but every now and again they'll work together and you'll have the best, warp fuckery filled night of your life.

Salamanders: As you would've expected, you've won the lottery. You have some of the best astartes in the galaxy who are quite happy to have you as well. They all know how to share, and don't try and kill eachother which given previous legions is a definite plus.

Raven Guard: They're pretty calm by the standards of others on this list, so not the worst. It can get a bit annoying to manage each of their depressive pouting fits though.

Night Lords: DON'T? As fun as it might seem to be a barracks bunny for a group of chunky Night Lords, this is a terrible idea. There's a non 0% chance you'll end up as a snack, and not the fun kind.

White Scars: Probably the best harem to be honest, given they probably have actual harems on Chogoris so the whole thing is familiar. Each are equally proud of their wife and it's really cute.

two years!! :D it’s been two years since my final curtain call and seven years since Jimlingss began! Seven years!!! Now that’s a crazy yet meaningful number!

Hello to everyone reading this message :D hopefully you remember me (it’s ok if you don’t) and for those who care, hopefully this is a treat! just a quick update on my life — I successfully completed my first year of law school and what a whirlwind it’s been. 

I’ve had so many ups and downs in the past year and I honestly feel like I’ve changed a lot. like evolved from pichu to pikachu. It was my first time moving away from home, away from my parents, and making so many friends. it’s been 20% bitter and 80% sweet. overall, I feel like I’ve learnt so much about myself and became a lot more stable in who I am.

school is hard but completely manageable. luckily, I don’t think my choice was wrong. there are days I quite enjoy what I’m learning. I got 2 years left in the game. soon (hopefully) I’ll be making the big bucks $$$ and I’ll be able to fund my sugar baby dreams (except I’ll also be my own sugar mommy). Although my dating life is as stale as always with 0 movement, I’ve become close with a handful of folks that I hold dearly to my heart. guess I’m in my friendship arc hahahaha

funny enough, I actually came back to this blog out of my own volition 2 weeks ago and re-read some of my stories. I feel so nostalgic. some of my stories really slap ngl. anyway, I really miss creative writing so much. Fortunately, there’s a few extracurriculars at school that allow me to write creatively so it’s somewhat of an outlet for me. it’s not fully satisfying but it’s something!!

I regularly come back to tumblr to check messages and do plagiarism checks lol. Speaking of which, I’ll take this time to answer some messages in my inbox.

Apologies in advance for my ignorance, it's my first time hearing about this, so I did a little research on it! I give you my thanks since I managed to inform myself on this topic and learn more about it.

Now onto the question; Your relationship with Yaki wouldn’t change much!! He’s a fairly open-minded person and is just delighted to welcome you into the convent.

He would be aware of your disability when welcoming you in, and would make sure you had proper accessibility options (since before u enter the convent Yaki had been sent an information paper on you, with all your superficial characteristics n such).

In the canon story, Yaki doesn’t pay you much attention until you’ve taken the proper steps to earn his trust, and only then would he start to fall for you— he would treat you as any other MC, so the same would apply here.

He would ensure you were properly cared for, though!

The only major difference is how the REST of the convent may treat you, and how your work schedule may change to only duties you can perform sitting down.

Oh absolutely. I think Idia would hate meeting anyone’s  parents to be honest, even Azul’s mom, who is supposed to be a lovely woman lol But the Tweels’ parents are way too intimidating. And if they act friendly, it’s somehow even more scary!

Hmm, it’s not like it drives him super crazy, but he tends to unintentionally start to stare and feel a bit excited, when…

Azul opens jars and bottles with seemingly 0 effort. Not like he does it often in front of Idia, but that’s one of the reasons Idia could never get used to it. Maybe also when Azul bites his lip, but that’s because of his beauty mark – it kind of attracts Idia’s attention.

Lilia messages him first or sends an emote (he does it super rarely, so it’s always a big deal and makes Idia very happy), or looks at him with a smug and intimidating face. Idia would never admit that he likes the latter though.

Floyd runs/parkours past him. Not only it feels great when he isn’t chasing Idia, but also… damn that’s fast. And the way Floyd’s body works is almost freaky, he truly resembles an animal when he does this type of stuff. He’s so big.

Jade does anything with his hands/fingers: cooks, folds paper, writes something down. Idia kind of looks at him a lot during their housewarden/vice-housewarden meetings, Jade’s hands are very… agile. And long. Makes one’s mind wander. Plus, Jade always makes it look effortless and exceptionally precise, as if he’s not human.

Sebek holds a bunch of heavy objects, like chairs or boxes, and showcases his strength in any other way, but it has to be casual, because otherwise it’s like Sebek is bragging about being strong. The fact that this isn’t a big deal to him at all is what makes Idia stare. 

Ortho does anything!!! He is a cutie! But if we’re being serious, get these “tingly” moments when Ortho acts like a handsome young man. Winks at him, does gentlemanly/boyfriend gestures, says something straight out of either a romance manga or a movie. It’s very unusual, and Ortho’s been doing it more often lately. Maybe it’s on purpose?

Yeah, sorry… even if it wasn’t for our top/bottom thing, these dynamics aren’t really our cup of tea unfortunately :(

We don’t have any major Cater ships, but we did talk about a couple of them before: Cater/Vil, Cater/Idia and Cater/Malleus. All of those are intriguing, and if we didn’t have all the other ships that keep us busy, I probably would’ve sketched them, but I just never have time for Cater somehow…

hello hi hi, just curious, do you use references when doing facial expressions in your artwork ever? your expressions always just look so good and I was itching to know :0

Hi!! Thank you so much! Expressions are easily one of my favorite things to draw. Many of the sketches I do are just because I want to draw the expression involved, haha. I’m very glad you like them!

The short answer is no, not anymore! Or at least not usually. I do still save expression references, but I usually just use them for mood inspiration or for expressions that are especially complex. I’ll look at the way that other artists handle expressions, but it’s rare for me to work from an expression reference directly as I draw. However, when I was starting out, I used them extensively! Many years ago I practiced by filling sketch pages with drawings of my OCs using those expression meme ask games that used to be popular on here. (some that I know I used were by soupery, who is now @taffybuns. They were fun and helpful!) I would also learn from the way that artists I admire drew poses and expressions; @sandflakedraws in particular was a huge inspiration!

These days my approach is basically “feel the vibe super hard and then draw and redraw and redraw until I get something that feels right.”

I keep a running compilation of expressions I’ve done over the years. As a treat for asking, here it is! A couple of the older ones (around 3-4 years old) are from reference.

So…Luigi and whoever else he brings on ghost hunting journeys go capturing what are basically sentient beings!!! Like- ghosts are shown to be sentient! They think and feel; they’re just like the living!! …except they’re not living. You know what I mean!!

So…is there a moral dilemma to this?? I KNOW THIS IS SOMETHING SUPER SPECIFIC AND MAYBE NOT THAT IMPORTANT TO THE MARIO UNIVERSE BUT IT HAS BEEN ON MY MIND FOR SO LONG NOW!!!!!

Heya, thank you so much <3 Btw I love specific questions, so that's great! Ah, for me personally it's a dilemma. E. Gadd is basically trapping sentient beings into small chambers they can't escape from. Who can blame King Boo for being just a little pissed off given the circumstances? If you are referring to how the characters might feel about it, I could actually imagine Luigi feeling quite torn about it. Especially in Luigi's Mansion 3 where he either fights/captures the ghosts or risks losing his brother and friends forever. Luigi having to deal with the consequences of his choices, especially when big stakes are involved is really interesting, and I actually have a rough story written out about it - one where Luigi has to make a tough choice that goes against his morale. Hope that answered your question :D

as for fic recs, i do indeed have a few...

idk if my taste in fics is similar to yours, but i generally like more introspective works with really good writing. the bsd fandom has a surprisingly (or unsurprisingly, given that the animanga is inspired by literary masters) incredible selection of works, unmatched by any other fanbase i've investigated.

my go-to rec is Three-fold Fate by devilrin (multi-chap, 60k, complete). the writing in this one KILLED ME. you know it's gotta be good when the author literally cites Ocean Vuong as inspiration lmfao. it explores the intricacies of canon-verse and dabbles into other aspects of bsd that aren't even explored (yet) in canon. brilliant writing and good skk shit, also with an interesting premise that really hit hard — i always go back to read parts of it when i want to spiral in my thoughts

the art of growing attached by hydref (one-shot, 6k, complete) is also really nice. soft & intimate, also in character in a very funny way

the choir's gonna sing by intimatopia (one-shot, 8k, complete) was really interesting, and i think abt it a lot. it explores dazai's ability in a super cool way that i haven't thought abt before, and now it's one of my fav interpretations. it also adds a depth to the skk relationship that i kinda adore. the writing is also brilliant, and the other works in the series hold a similarly high standard

StarshipDancer's skk series is also a goldmine of skk fics lol. the writing is solid and often very entertaining, i also love how they're both characterized

all the holes we had to breathe by airiena (one-shot, 18k, complete) is gorjus. it explores the dev of their relationship, and has some wonderfully handled motifs that made me writhe lol. very cathartic.

Always/Never by KhaoticEnby (multi-chap, 27k, complete) is one of my favs to return to. it's the peak of reconciliatory intimacy, and i enjoy how it gently explores skk's relationship. also very very cathartic and healing hehe

Cedric is a highly intelligent individual who tends to keep to himself. This is more out of habit than truly enjoying being alone. In reality, Cedric is an incredibly lonely person who longs for companionship. His rough background has caused him to be rather emotionless though, which makes it difficult for him to interact with and get along with others. His expression and voice are completely blank 90% of the time. It's rare that he shows any kind of emotion, with the emotion he's feeling having to be super strong for it to affect him in that way. His past has led him to develop a condition that affects his ability to register his emotions. As such, he cannot read the emotions in others, tends to be completely logical with his thinking, and has difficulty understanding others' point of views. Despite this seemingly cold exterior, he does have a softer way of acting. Cedric understands right from wrong and tries to act in a way that would be interpreted as good. He helps others not out of compassion or sympathy, but because he knows it would be right. That, and his subconscious wishes people would look through the tough shell thrown over his heart and actually try to reach out to him. He could never express this desire, however, as he doesn't know he even has it.

Cedric is the oldest of two. He was born sickly and his parents considered him a failure. They did the bare minimum to take care of him, raising him until he was about 5 years old. At that point, his mother had a second child who was much healthier. They raised him up on a pedestal and practically forgot about Cedric other than making sure to keep him alive. He was forced to stay in his room for majority of the day, and when his younger brother was old enough to be given his own room they moved him up to the attic. Cedric stayed isolated for majority of his life, only leaving his room for the bare necessities and for school later on. He tried a couple times to seek emotional dependency from his parents, but they had all but cut him out of their lives at that point. He gave up when he was around 8. This isolation greatly stunted his emotional and social skills, leading to him closing off and hardening up to vastly unhealthy amounts. At the age of 18, his parents used his adulthood as an excuse to kick him out. Cedric's only saving factor was his ability to get a full-ride scholarship to a university due to his intelligence and promising grades. Following the interest he had gathered from watching multiple documentaries as a child, he enrolled in school for biological sciences and has been working to complete his Master's degree on campus.

Alexithymia

Way, way too into biology. Particularly the intricate bodily functions and makeup of living creatures. He will talk for hours about it, including all the nitty gritty details, and he will have absolutely 0 clue that he's disturbing anyone.

He's not a fan of reading books of fiction (particularly anything with fantasy aspects) because his imagination is basically nonexistent.

Despite what one may assume, he would love to have a family someday. Cedric is envious of healthy parent/child relationships and would love to be part of one, whether he's the parent or the child. Again, this is an emotion of his he doesn't understand, and thus can't talk about.

Cedric is completely unaware of how wrong it was for his parents to treat him that way. His brain was wired to think, "Oh. I wasn't the ideal specimen, so I was thus discarded." Because of this, he tends to write off anyone that doesn't meet the exact requirements of what he may need for a project. He doesn't understand why this may upset others.

It would take SOOOOO much therapy to fix him. He thinks therapy is useless anyways, because he doesn't understand emotions enough to realize that it's possible for there to be something wrong with them.

He's so touch starved that touch feels "painful" to him. In reality, he's just not used to it at all and his nerves automatically assume he's being attacked. If he were to be coaxed into fully accepting affection, he'd melt.

Loves classical music.

Real big on fulfilling debts. If you do something kind for him, there's no talking him out of repaying you with something he believes is perfectly equal to the favor he received. This is also true in the opposite direction, which means he may try to force someone into doing something for him because he thinks it's the proper thing to do. If they hardcore shut him down though, he won't press. He might just keep offering different routes to "repay their debts" until they agree to something.

Surprisingly, he's very gentle with people. Never lays a hand on them, always speaks with what he believes is a respectful tone (which may sound curt to others, but he's just a straightforward guy). The only thing stopping him from being likable is the fact that he literally acts like an emotionless doll.

His solution to trying to understand others is to write down every little detail he discovers about them. This way, he can maximize his "consideracy" for others. This tends to have the opposite effect, because it makes him seem super stalkerish. Especially since he specializes in a scientific field that dissects things.

Although he's utterly fascinated by all things biological, plants are his main focus. He could tell you anything and everything about plants, and he keeps a whole bunch in a greenhouse he rents. It's his top hyperfixation.

He doesn't have any contact with his parents whatsoever. Not because he doesn't want to, but because they don't want to, and Cedric sees nothing wrong with that (even if it does severely hurt him deep down).

The thing is.

The thing is that Daniel’s scared.

And then surprised, and then kind of proud of himself for having a feeling. A few feelings. Scared. Surprised. Proud. He hasn’t done that in awhile.

But he’s been feeling other things, lately, too, and those things are physical and scary. Nausea. Intense hunger he hasn’t felt in ages. Tenderness in his chest.

He’s been avoiding dealing with it for a few weeks now but Daniel suspects the worst.

And then feels bad all over again for thinking that being pregnant would be ‘the worst’.

He and Max have talked a lot about wanting pups some day; about how they both want to be dads and have a few kids running around and even talked about names they’d like and…

It’s just.

He can’t have a baby right now. Daniel can barely take care of his own self at this point and he knows things are getting better, kinda, a little bit, but he can’t have a baby. He can’t. He can’t stop taking his antidepressants because he’s only just sort of getting back on track to being somewhat of a person again. There’s no way Daniel can manage a whole pregnancy right now, but. He can’t really deny his symptoms he’s experiencing.

He'd asked Michael to pick up a pregnancy test with the usual groceries and supplements he brings over for training, and sworn Michael to secrecy, and felt a little shame at the look Michael had given him. He knows he’s in no state to be having a pup.

“I’m on birth control,” he’d said, sat at the kitchen breakfast nook where he’d been finishing up the smoothie Michael had made him. “I don’t know. There’s those rare times when people get pregnant aren’t there?”

“But this is a new one, isn’t it?” Michael asked, because he knew – had to know – the ins and outs of Daniel’s body and medications and nutrition at all times.

Daniel had looked up at Michael from his smoothie, eyebrows knitting together in a little frown.

“Danny, it can take a few months for the new ones to be as effective as what you stopped taking,” Michael had explained and Daniel’s heart had plummeted into his stomach.

He’d been so stupid. So happy that he’d finally had a sex drive again, so eager to re-affirm his and Max’s bond again, so pleased to finally be knotted by his alpha again. They hadn’t been having a ton of sex – not back up to their pre-depression levels – but enough that that, plus the risk of his new birth control… apparently a recipe for disaster.

Sighing, Daniel hides the pregnancy test away in the bathroom cabinet for later. For now, he has to face Max.

Daniel goes out to the bedroom where Max was sat up in bed on his phone, having not yet got up for the day. Brad knows better than to hit Max up for training before 11am. Daniel’s always been an early morning kind of guy.

“Hi,” he says as he climbs back into their bed to sit, criss-cross, facing Max. “I gotta tell you something,” Daniel finishes, tugging his hoodie sleeves down over his hands, a nervous habit. Max looks up at him, curious, phone set aside onto the bedside table in an instant.

“Are you okay?” He asks, because of course he does. Max is the most attentive and wonderful alpha Daniel’s ever known. Daniel can see the way Max’s nostrils flare a little, taking in Daniel’s scent.

“I think I might be pregnant,” Daniel says, just getting it over with and out there. His heart pounds as he watches Max’s face go through what seems like a million stages of emotion. Confusion, shock, surprise, fear.

“What? No. How?” Max asks, sitting up in bed a little straighter now, shifting to reach over for one of Daniel’s hands. “You’re… you take your pill every night, I see you do it,” he says, and he’s not wrong. They brush their teeth together for bed, and then Daniel takes his antidepressant and his birth control while Max rinses his toothbrush out. Routine practically set in stone.

Daniel sighs, nods his head a little and squeezes Max’s hand in his own.

“I think we were a little stupid,” Daniel says with a frown. “I should have been more careful. Just. It can take awhile for a new kind of birth control to be, like, effective, I guess. I feel like I should have known that. But. I was just really happy to feel like I wanted you again… and, maybe. I guess we fucked up,” Daniel sighs, dropping his gaze to where he’s holding Max’s hand in his lap.

Max is quiet across from him, no doubt processing the information. He knows this isn’t Max’s fault. What do alphas know about birth control and omega bodies? Daniel was too caught up in the excitement – and feeling the excitement – of having a sex drive again and now, this.

“But you don’t know, for sure?” Max asks quietly, and Daniel looks up at him again.

“No, but I feel… I’ve been nauseous and really hungry lately. And my chest hurts and I think I’m… my chest is bigger, I dunno. I have a test to take,” Daniel says with a little shrug. “Maybe I should have taken it first to be sure before even talking to you, I just,” he pauses, swallowing the lump in his throat.

“Hey, no,” Max says as he moves to get closer, tugs Daniel into a hug and nuzzles into his neck. “You of course should tell me everything you want to any time,” Max tells him and Daniel feels a little bit calmer with the way Max scents him.

He pulls back after a moment and finds his resolve to go actually take the test, but not before stealing a kiss from Max before he heads to the bathroom to find out for sure.

In bed, Max watches the bathroom door close and lets himself sag back into the pillows, hands running over his face as he lets out a slow breath.

This is so not the time.

Max hates himself for thinking it because they both know how badly he wants Daniel’s pups. He’s made it so clear to Daniel that he wants to give Daniel lots of babies and raise them to be so happy and free to choose their paths, to be little family full of love and so much happiness.

But Daniel’s only barely getting out of bed in the mornings by himself these days. It’s only been recently that he or Michael haven’t had to literally make him get up and function almost like a person.

Daniel’s been better. He’s been so much better. But he’s not… he’s nowhere near where either of them would ideally want to be to have a pup.

Max sighs again and hates himself for the tiny bit of hope he has that Daniel isn’t pregnant.

He’d noticed that Daniel was actually eating more lately, and not being made to do it. Honestly Max just thought Daniel was finally gaining some weight again and he’d noticed the changes – Daniel’s chest and abs filling out a bit more, but he’d been eating! He’d been too skinny and now he was filling out a bit and Max had thought nothing of it, only good things.

If Daniel is pregnant Max can only imagine one option, as much as it pains him to consider. But he knows his mate, and he knows Daniel would have to do what’s best for him and his health right now.

Max gets out of bed pads to the bathroom door, knocks softly and leans his forehead against it.

“Can I come in?” He asks quietly, knowing Daniel might want his space for this.

“Just a sec,” Daniel answers and Max listens to the sounds of Daniel washing his hands and puttering – killing time – before Daniel finally opens the door. He can’t help but to immediately lock his eyes on the pregnancy test sitting on the counter, waiting for them.

“You smell upset,” He says, easily picking up on the sharp tang of Daniel’s scent. “I should have probably noticed earlier but I just thought you were getting back to normal. You smelled so much like you again and it made me so happy Daniel. I of course should have realized that maybe it was something else,” Max says with a frown, disappointed in himself for not picking up that maybe Daniel’s change in his scent was pregnancy. Alphas are supposed to be able to tell.

“I’m just scared,” Daniel tells him, steps back to let Max come into the bathroom. Daniel leans up against the counter while Max sits on the edge of the tub. “I feel like I fucked up so badly and if I’m pregnant I… you know we can’t…”

“I know,” Max acquiesces. “You know whatever you choose I’ll support you,” he says, and he means it. As hard as it would be, as much as he would – does – want this pup, this is not their time.

Daniel’s about to respond before his phone trills on the bathroom counter, no doubt an alarm he’d set when it was time to look at the results of the test he took. He silences the alarm and looks back at Max, and Max can see the fear on his face.

“Let me do it,” Max says as he gets up from where he was perched on the edge of the tub. He crosses the bathroom and grabs the test off the counter before Daniel can protest.

Max holds the little test in his hand and tries not to think about how this moment could change the course of their entire lives. He looks up at Daniel who’s leaning his hip against the counter and looking back at him.

Max takes a little breath and finally lifts his hand, looks down at the little screen before his eyes. Nothing in this life could have prepared him for the immense wave of utter relief he feels at reading the little digital ‘NOT PREGNANT’.

“It’s negative,” he says, barely, before Daniel’s snatched the pregnancy test from his hands to look for himself.

Not pregnant. Daniel is not pregnant. They’re not going to have a pup.

Not now, anyway. Not now.

“Oh my god,” Daniel breathes, test clattering to the bathroom counter before Daniel tosses his arms around Max’s neck. Max pulls him close, cuddles his perfect omega into his arms and presses a kiss to Daniel’s mating mark. He’d been right, after all. Daniel wasn’t pregnant. Daniel was just getting healthier. Gaining weight. Eating. Feeling better.

“It’s okay,” Max breathes, squeezing Daniel close when Daniel shudders a sob into his shoulder. “It’s okay, Daniel.”

Max can smell Daniel’s relief, can sense the confusion they both feel at being so relieved and yet sad at the same time. He knows they both want pups, one day. But he’s relieved it isn’t today.

“Fuck, I’m sorry,” Daniel says when he pulls back again, Max watching as he wipes his eyes. “I should have just done this before telling you anything,” he says and Max’s heart clenches.

“I want you to tell me everything,” he says, because he knows what it’s like to be with a Daniel who hides how he really feels, and he knows that it’s scary. “We’ll have pups when we’re ready, okay? I would hate it if you had to make such a hard choice right now about to keep it or not. I’m glad you don’t have to, Daniel,” he tells his mate, cups Daniel’s cheeks to look at his big, sad brown eyes.

“Okay,” Daniel agrees, and he accepts the kiss Max gives him easily before cuddling back into Max’s arms.

“Maybe tomorrow you can ask Michael to get us some condoms, hm?” Max asks with a smirk, and he’s grateful for the beautiful, truly missed, sound of Daniel’s laughter.

Heyoooo everyone! I’m gonna gush a little bit about my gym rat hobby so please feel free to ignore me! I’m just super excited with the results I got this week. :)

For those of ya who are curious:

As of this coming April, I’d have been weight training consistently for a year. The past 5 weeks I entered a prep block to get myself prepared, and this week was the self-appointed Personal Record test I set for myself. The goal of the test is to... well. TEST how strong I’d become and the progress I made in comparison to when I first started out by finding my 1 Rep Max (and in the case of pullups, how many I can do before I can’t do anymore in one go).

The lifts I used for the testing were Barbell Bench Press, Deadlifts, and Pullups. I would’ve also tested for Squats but an old injury in my knee started acting up, so for my own safety I opted against it until I can retrain it and try later at the end of the year.

ANYWAY! The results of those tests are:

Bench Press: Last 1RM-150lbs | Current 1RM- 170lbs

Deadlift: Last 1RM- 210lbs | Current 1RM- 265lbs

Pullups: Last max: 0 pullups unassisted | Current max: 9 pullups unassisted

Numbers aren’t necessarily important in the grand scheme of things, BUT they’re very good for me to know in order to calculate how much I should be lifting in order to become stronger and for how many reps/sets, as well as giving me an additional visual representation of the progress I’m making outside of photos.

I am naturally competitive --specifically toward myself-- so what I see when looking at these numbers is defaulting to “Cool but now I need to get stronger”. But I’m trying to make myself take a step back and actually appraise the progress I’ve made thus far and to remember to be proud of it, even if it may not feel like I made a lot of progress at all.

And taking that step back: overall? I’m very happy with the results! And quite frankly very surprised. I went into the test with base goals and trying to be open that there’s a very high likelihood of failing to reach those goal PRs this time. But I managed to outperform my own expectations, and while small part of me will forever whisper “it wasn’t you. You did it wrong. You’re lying to yourself,” it’s a little harder to deny it when I had another person actively watching me and recording the tests so I can actually see myself do it.

“You are your biggest critique” is ever the true statement man. But I’m definitely trying to learn how to be more open to success in the gym. I mean c’mon; I started at barely being able to do one pullup with 100lbs of assistance. Now I can do nine with no help? It’s not a big number, but it’s still a much bigger number than where I was, and I can be proud of that.

I guess the roundabout of me talking about this is to remind ya to take a step back and be proud of the progress you’ve made up to this point, no matter what it is. Any progress is still progress, and you can’t brush that off.

The game face can be put on; aim for that higher number, strive for more, but don’t forget to take inventory of where you started vs where you are now. You may surprise yourself. :)

BUT YEAH! TL;DR I think I have gotten a little stronger. I’ll be taking a couple of days break away from the gym to rest up, then will be back on my bullshit with the new training block + my 1st attempt at a minicut. We’ll see how that goes ;w;

I’d like to preface this by saying I’m a super busy student in my A-Level year so I’m not actually making it. But I can make comics and explain the plot theoretically on tumblr :D

First of all it’s Katemau centric because I’m a useless bisexual.

Now more importantly, there’s two main schools in this, Phoenix Drop High and O’Kasis Academy. It’s also sort of following MCD in a more direct way? I’ll run down all the main cast

Aphmau Floraz - Age 16. She has been homeschooled her whole life and is super stoked to be attending high school. Attends PDH and gets up to general protag shenanigans.

Aaron Lycan - Age 18. Aaron is not a love interest! He’s still FC but they meet online while she’s at PDH and not before. They’re nerdy gamer friends and I <3 them. Platonic nerd aarmau for the soul

Katelyn Adhikari - Age 16. APH’S LOVE INTEREST!!! Katelyn used to attend O’Kasis Academy where she was captain of the girl’s football (soccer) team and also on the student council, run by Zane. Some shit goes down and it all ends with Zane getting Jeffery expelled and triggering a series of events that makes Katelyn want to leave. She now attends PDH and is on the football team there. She’s also Ivy’s ex :0

Nana Ishida - Age 15. Nana is a member of the baking club!! She wants to go to a technical college to become a patisserie chef and she often struggles with not being as academic as some of her friends. Lucinda is always around to give her a pep talk if she’s really struggling :,). She’s also dating Danté. She likes anime but she goes by her own name not Kawaii-Chan. Liking anime is what she bonds with Aphmau over

Danté Captain - Age 15. Danté is not gross in my rewrite, and is much more like his MCD counterpart!! After a messy breakup with Nicole, he was a bit sceptical about dating someone. However, he bonded with Nana over failing a maths test and they really hit it off. He’s really good at boxing but so far he’s never beaten Gene

Lucinda Claire - Age 16. Lucinda is an icon. She’s still a witch and she’s part of like. The main girl four (Aphmau, Katelyn, Nana and Lucinda). She’s been friends with Nana for years and the two are a very chaotic team. Teachers are warned to sit them across the room from each other when they first start, and they turn everything into a competition. Lucinda also knows how to comfort someone after a breakup or smthn, but does not do well with her own.

Laurance Zvahl - Age 17. Laurance captains the guys football (again, soccer) team and he is super messy lol. Ask him about his middle school emo phase and you are DEAD (not really, he’ll just laugh it off, then ask that you don’t mention it). Not much has changed here, but again he’s not a love interest for Aphmau really? I don’t like love triangle stuff too much so I wanna make it more slow burn adjacent. He was adopted by Hayden when he was super young and if you hurt Cadenza he will hate you forever. He did also used to roll with Gene and co

Gene Captain (18), Sasha Smyth (17), and Zenix Martinez-Jones (15) are the shadow knights still!!! They’re sort of Gene’s weird loner group, not much has changed here. Gene wants to be a boxer, Sasha gets away with everything because of her 4.0 and Zenix wears trousers 5 sizes too big for him. They’re silly.

Ivy Vernon (16) and Janus Argan (17) are kinda background antagonists for a bit??? Ivy is Katelyn’s ex and the head of the OKA girls hockey team. She’s an absolute menace . Janus is Zane’s close friend and always wants the best for him. He ends up with Zane. Janus is on the American football team.

Travis Valkrum - Age 16. I almost forgot about Travis because I do not like him at all. No Travlyn here whatsoever lmao. I will lean into the sweetheart thing he had going on in pdh!! Basically a ray of sunshine, and things pickup lines are so suave and cool. He’s really interested in classical music.

THE ROMEAVE BROTHERS: here is where we get really messy and find some main conflict

Garroth Ro’Meave - Age 18. Also no longer a love interest. Garroth Ro’Meave has a heart of gold and is always trying his best. He absolutely loves sports and board games. He could not stand his father and ran away from home in the summer between Junior and Senior year. He enrolled himself at PDH and cannot legally be made to return home, and this sets up a lot of the conflict. Garté is a very famous businessman and politician and the tabloids are finding it hard to avoid discussing the family drama, especially with Vylad being public news. Garrance is also endgame

Zane Ro’Meave - Age 16. Debate team. Anyone who knows me knows I love Zane, and I am so normal about him in this. He’s the student council head (the SC is the Jury, idk if I made that clear) at O’Kasis academy until Garté gets really antsy to get Garroth back. Garté basically forcefully transfers Zane to PDH and says he can’t go back to O’Kasis Academy until Garroth comes home. Character development and chaos ensues, while he’s finally forced to face everyone he’s hurt and his feelings about his dad. Much less importantly, Zane gets a boyfriend by the end. It’s Janus (as in the silver death), who’s been his friend the whole time.

Vylad Ro’Meave Fletcher - Age 15. Sick of her husband, Zianna had an affair with another guy. Garté didn’t like how dissimilar Vylad looked to him and forced her to get a DNA test. He basically forced Zianna to give Vylad up, and he’s currently staying in a foster home. It’s public knowledge that he is a Ro’Meave, but it’s just not really talked about in a serious context (kinda Boris Johnson’s kids). Suddenly he’s at the same school as his two older brothers and getting to reconnect with them, and it’s all a lot at once. He’s also the person who convinced Sylvanna that Aphmau should come to PDH on an open day.

It’d be kinda Sex Education vibes??? More than one main character and it focuses on all their conflicts, but the overarching story is Katemau and the conflict between Zane and Garroth, both of which would come to a peak on the night of the winter dance :)

ok i have a 10 image limit and some of these are multi-image jokes so i’ll try to distill these as best i can. also these jokes are all from i think chapter 4 and later, where i really flourished my sense of humor more

1. marina’s high school crush/bff sharkwanda being a highly contentious contestant on a spoof of top model

this is specifically a spoof of the early seasons, which usually had an assessment within the first 2 or 3 episodes, including a weigh in. as much as i loved trashy tv, i always hated these moments so i thought it would be funny to have a literal shark and to have her be weighed against mostly average-sized humanoids because it would be ridiculous for anyone to expect a healthy shark to weigh the same amount as a human.

there were a couple other layers to this: george idolizing her as a strong, independent woman. george’s brother freaking out because sharkwanda just ate a man on camera and no one’s overly bothered by this. george chastising him for not realizing it was obviously fake/over dramatized for the ratings (and not examining that then this moment of “self empowerment” would also be fake). and then also i named her after a fish named wanda. except she’s a shark named wanda. she’s also the most beautiful and popular girl in the world and she wins her season and becomes a very successful model.

2. the tinsley family thanksgiving outfits. actually their themed outfits in general. i think shit like this is super cute and funny. i also just enjoy writing siblings who rib each other lovingly.

also the part of this where george’s mom has three eyes (she’s psychic) and her dad has no eyes, so her brother has two eyes and for all intents and purposes looks human, but he is a full blooded monster. early on i had some ideas for an off shoot chapter about eli and his struggles with his identity (being a monster but not looking like one and not feeling at home in either community), but it got scrapped for time and also because it felt like too close a parallel to mixed race people who pass as white and that’s not my story to tell.

3. sharkwanda’s cover (up) girl ad campaign during the superb owl half time show. some of this stuff was a bit on the nose, but there’s a line about sharkwanda finally having makeup that doesn’t melt off her face like hot cheese that i still like

4. this multi-strip joke where franny’s dad pulls a turkey out of a hat. just read it there’s nothing to explain lol

5. basically every part of the magic shop scene, but especially the part where percy meets franny’s dad for the first time during a very tense situation and franny’s dad is wearing a skeleton (this is a reference to ranma 1/2). and then also percy sits and there’s a whoopee cushion. it’s incredibly awkward and not exactly haha funny, but it simultaneously cuts and adds to the tension in a way that is very monsterpop.

6. human!franny getting ben a dog toy as his secret santa gift (he doesn’t own a dog) and then dropping it and then it making a horrific, shrill squeak when it bounces

7. the whole situation with chadler, his horrible christmas outfit, the marshmallow gun, and him taking sexy santa ben as prisoner.

8. ben, killed by glitter, soon to be avenged by his crush comrade (or not)

9. george being gifted a framed painting of a photo of herself, asleep during class, which she later carries into an actual museum and gets in trouble for because a guard thinks she stole a piece of art
