So I ran to the store with Milo which I already hate going to the store and I had on a tank and shorts. They were shorter, yes, but not crazy short. I had on socks and sneakers. Some old man in his 60’s said I shouldn’t dress like that. I said excuse me? He said boys shouldn’t dress like that and asked why I wasn’t in school. I said, I’m 22 and I’m not dressed inappropriately. He said short shorts should be reserved for girls and proceeded to ask what my girlfriend thought about my shorts??

If you’re part of the LGBTQ+ community and you’re transphobic, you’re a bigot. “What do same sex attracted people and trans people even have in common?” How about years of death and discrimination? times when it was illegal to be gay and be trans? how about how in America the Republicans are doing everything they can to silence both groups? How about in other places of the world where the two groups are killed or imprisoned for simply being themselves? The fight for acceptance and equality. The fight for love and representation? The fight for basic human rights?

It took how long for us to finally have the rights that allow us to get married and start transitions into our true selves and yet trans people are still being villanized? If you say we all don’t belong together in the same community you’re an idiot plain and simple and throwing rocks inside of a glass house because we all have the same common enemy.
